Fuck Diamond Free for All Edition
>Previously on Spartan-II Quest...
In the aftermath of OPERATION LIGHTNING STRIKE, Damien-032 suffers a flashback while undergoing mandatory after mission examinations. Whether due to frustration or a protective instinct to Dr. Halsey Damien finds himself in a confrontation with ONI operatives. After being reprimanded for his actions during and after the mission, Damien volunteers the Spartans and thus begins OPERATION FULMEN.

"Alright here's the plan." Lt. Dana's ODST helmet appears on the communication screen within the pod.

"Wolfhound you're with us. We're going to be dropping behind the 546th Engineer corps to allow them the space they need to retreat. If possible we eliminate all dissidents so we can reinforce other positions with no worries. If not we're gonna be using the 456th's gear to pen them in and keep them busy for a while. Priority is towards getting those boys out, however." Dana speaks with a conviction and authority that surprises you. Your only interactions with her revealed a nervous woman.

"Copper. This is gonna be your first live drop. We have confirmation of enemy anti-air. However, they are currently too preoccupied with trying to take out our Pelicans. You, boys, are going to shock and awe the innies attacking our main line. Shake em up and tear em down. Afterwards get to the line and reinforce their positions."

The pod rises into the air and circles around.

"After we drop we can no longer expect to be able to communicate with Units not within close proximity. The jammers they have in the city are the targets of our Spartan team so don't expect them to last.

"PREPARE FOR DROP! FINAL WEAPONS CHECK!" She orders as the comms die out.

The Black Body Suit hugs your body as tight as ever. You decided to take the stealthy approach rather than gearing yourself out for war. Less protection than anything else but you shouldn't need it. Your primary objective is to relieve the Pelicans so they can support the rest of the units in the field. Your pod shakes briefly and you bring up the weapons you decided to grab.

The XBR55 Prototype Battle Rifle attached with a silencer, variable scope, and Stabilization Jets will allow you take out targets with extreme precision all the while maintaining silence. Sitting in the corner of your pod like a monster the M41 SPNKR rests beside a bag of rockets. It'll be useful for leveling terrain, armoured units, and destroying any enemy entrenched positions should you have to.

"DROPPING IN THREE!" Dana announces and you grab the to thruster controls

One. The pod shifts into position
Two. Several clamps release and you're given a jolt as the pod shakes once more.
Three. The pods are released.

Dozens of ODST pods drop along yours as the strike forces fall to the planet below. Several intense moments of shaking assaults you while you begin adjusting to the rapidly changing altitudes.

"Good luck Brother." Solomon's face appears on one side of the communication screen and Raynor on the other.

"We don't need luck. All we have to do is follow orders and get our job done. I trust you can do that Solomon?"

"Aye Captain."

"Good." Raynor's communication fizzes out and Solomon's as well after he puts on his ODST Helmet.

"FIRE THRUSTERS NOW! FOLLOW THE SET TRAJECTORIES!"

You smash a fist into a large button beside the thruster controls and your movement is arrested briefly before you continue to fall. The pod finally breaks cloud cover and you see the rest of the strikeforce's pods veer off towards their objectives. You follow suit and push the pod towards the North Eastern sector of the City. You see several Pelicans juking between buildings attempted to find cover from Anti-Air weapons. Your pod shakes violently upon re-entry but you've already set the pod upon the proper path.

The pod slams into ad through a high rise for several floors. Anchoring itself in the ground the pod you quick the pod door off and roll onto a knee, raising your BR and scanning briefly. Sounds of war even reach this isolated section of the city. Explosions and the constant sound of gunfire echoes off the walls and through the destroyed windows.

You're currently in a penthouse of sorts. The building appears to ravished by Insurrectionist forces. Several windows are destroyed, holes from the stray anti-air fire line the walls, and the furniture is spread across the rooms. You briefly cycle through each of the rooms ensuring you're alone you return to the pod to retrieve your weapons.

Like all your weapons the M41 has magnetic proponents that allow it to be safely attached to your form without any worries of it falling after a particularly hard jolt. The rocket is somewhat of a hindrance for you at the moment. You aren't completely used to carrying such large weapons on your form. You take the bag of M19 102mm high-explosive, shaped-charge surface-to-surface missiles and throw it over your shoulder. Next, comes the two Frag Grenades and you're ready to move.

You shoulder your way out the apartment door as your HUD is updated with schematics of the building. Comms may be down but you still have access to the Tremere Union of Engineers database. As you sprint through the halls a recreation of the building is rapidly constructed and you make a sharp left at the next intersection and barrel towards a staircase.

It takes you several moments to reach the top and you smash your way through the locks on the roof door and into the night of the city. You see brilliant flashes of light in the distance and stray flashes of tracer rounds into the air. You scan from left to right trying to locate the rounds of the AA fire. After spending five minutes watching and waiting you come to a realization.

The Pelicans must be out of the firing trajectories of the AA guns. The crews must be well trained to not reveal their position if they're no longer firing blindly into the night. You look down towards the street, helmet cycling to a binocular setting. You see dust trails as pickup trucks with MGs mounted on the back barrel towards the main battle of the infantry. Another group of trucks with men in the back head in the opposite direction towards the building your standing on. Could they have noticed your pod? A final group of two trucks with a heavy black tarp on their backs covering some unknown cargo is being supported by three trucks with MGs as they speed down the road to the east.

As you watch the trucks head in their separate directions you command your Helmet to re-enter the TUE Database and bring up an unmodified map of the city. You also bring up a side by side image of the map provided to you by the Admiral. You layer each map over each other and begin copying the information onto the TUE map. Afterwards, you add the location of the ODST Units as white dots and the friendly Spartans as Green. You, however, remain the solitary black dot in the city. Finally, you update the map by sending an in the location of the trucks heading to the main line. Now to send a message.

Within the domestic databases on the frontier, there is a backdoor which ONI uses to infiltrate into systems to pull valuable tactical data from. You access this database by sending a specific code through into the database. You open the console and through the ONI cyberware weaved into your suit and helmet, begin typing in the air.

Oni mo mi, narétaru ga yoshi
Even a devil, when you become accustomed to the sight of him, may prove a pleasant acquaintance.

The screen goes blank only leaving you with the image of the city and the echoes of its battle. Then the Emblem of ONI appears on your HUD and several commands become available. You enter the upload command and a bar appears on the screen. As the bar quickly fills you type another message alongside.

"032. Uploading updated enemy and friendly locations. Act Accordingly."

When the bar fills and a confirmation message is delivered you run to the other side of the roof. In the process of sending the message, the truck sped down several blocks. You look across to the next building and take several steps back...

You run forward quickly accelerating. Your HUD provides rapid calculations depicting the distance between the two buildings. 80 Feet. A simple affair. You raise your foot up and step on the roof guard. Without missing a beat you spring off the guard and jump towards the next building.

Fifty Feet into your leap you bring your knees up and use your forearms to protect your helmet from the explosion of glass as you slam through into the next building. In a practiced movement, you roll on the carpeted floor of the apartment and rise to your feet and break into a sprint. If you want to catch up to the truck you'll need speed. Not finesse.

You holster your BR underneath the M41 and pull your arm back as you reach a wall. Simply running harder you run towards a wall ignore the solid mass. You truck your way through as you head into the kitchen, HUD rapidly providing you with maps of the nearby buildings. You step on the windowsill and launch yourself out the window towards the next building.

The next building is much smaller and you land on your feet, making a sizeable dent into the building without falling through it. You spring up and continue to leap between the buildings, occasionally smashing your way through apartments when you reach a building to high to scale.

Within two minutes you manage to catch up to the vehicle as it speeds down block after block. You keep up with it the same way you caught it. Taking building after building, apartment after apartment. Ignoring all obstacles in your way or subverting them as they come. The fact that you can most certainly move faster than the truck is slightly aggravating but victory comes to those who remain patient and composed on the field of battle. Through the lessons taught by Déjà, you learned that greatest commanders and soldiers did not find victory by becoming unhinged. They stayed stubbornly focused on their objectives.

With that same determination and focus, you eventually spot the truck entering into a parking lot. You crouch on a building rooftop as you watch the truck travel to the top floor. There you spot multiple trucks where Insurrectionist quickly begins arming the weapon emplacements with Surface-to-air missiles. The Anaconda is UNSC grade Anti-Air that can supplement pre-established point defense turrents. Only the military and the wealthiest Mega-Corps has access to this level of weaponry. It seems like there's more to these insurrectionists than meets the eye.

You detach the M41 and lift it over your shoulder. You check the launcher by opening its barrel unit and make sure that it's filled with an active ordinance. Looking back towards the Anacondas you zoom into their locations to determine their operational capacities.

There are three emplacements each able to rotate a full three hundred and sixty degrees to attack any air targets from any direction. They can fire a total of fourteen missiles before an operator has to insert more ordinance. With a well-drilled crew, an emplacement can unleash at the very minimum 28 missiles per minute. The urgency at which the crew on the ground moves makes you think they're just that.

You begin to search through the encampment looking for a weakness to exploit. Most of the Anacondas are placed such that if an explosion was to occur a chain reaction wouldn't result in the complete destruction of the emplacement. These insurrectionists are competent. You'll give them tha-

In between two fo the emplacements Insurrectionist are beginning to cycle out the Anacondas and put in another group of missiles. Besides them are the boxes labeled with the emblem of the UNSC. One well-placed shot there could take out two of the emplacements and take out the other should be simple enough. Seems they aren't as competent as you previously thought.

You grab the M41 and mount it on your shoulder. Next, you activate the smart link and zoom in towards the boxes of the ordinance...

You squeeze the trigger and hear the satisfying sound of the M19 102mm being launched from its tube. The M41 cycles and places the next rocket in place to be fired. You don't even wait to make a confirmation of whether the first rocket hit its target or not before your quickly aiming at the third and final Anaconda. Once again you squeeze the trigger and the rocket is sent barreling from its tube.

You quickly drop to the floor and remove the bag full of the M19s. You open the barrel unit and slam another set of missiles in place. You hear a loud explosion across the way and you loom up to see the first missiles hit its target and exploding in a blossom of flaming shrapnel, smoke, flailing bodies, and limbs. Soon afterward the Thrid Anaconda goes out much like its former two emplacements.

You see streams of trucks fleeing in all directions from the parking lot and you begin to quickly enter their current routes into the TUE Map. You also mark the area in which you destroyed the emplacements in a black X.

Looking back at the crumbling parking lot you notice several of the insurrectionists appear to be alive, wounded and disoriented, but alive. You also spot another one of the tarped trucks fleeing alongside the trucks with MGs and with empty beds used as troop transports. ONI never did get a count on how many missiles the Pelicans were attacked by. For all you know this could have been the only emplacements. Based on their displayed efficiency so far the Troops Transport Trucks are probably going to reinforce the main line assault rather than flee. There's also the matter of disabling the MGs before they can use their weapons.

You press your chin to the comm button and only receive static. The jammer is still online.

You watch the column of six MG trucks flee at top speed to the south for a moment before you shoulder the launcher once more. Holding the middle of the column is two troop transports. The units at Alpha should be able to hold out even if the enemies numbers increase. But if they were to have an increase in mobility and firepower through armor? That would decrease their survivability by an unacceptable margin.

You use your SmartLink optics to zoom into the head of the column. You think to block them by destroying the two lead trucks then take as many out as you can with the rest of your rockets. As you line up your aim you get an idea.

Raising your sights you spot a tunnel connecting two large buildings. You place your aim in the middle of the bridge and squeeze the trigger. The M19 is fired and the launcher cycles the next rocket into place. You hold your fire this time, however.

The rocket zooms towards the bridge just as two of the trucks reach under in and in an explosion of fire and sound the bridge comes tumbling down. The first two trucks are crushed and explode violently as the road is blocked. The rest of the trucks immediately press the brakes to avoid slamming into one another. A few of them slam into each other and pushes the column further up against the bridge.

The Troop Transports are dead in the water as the column is slow to adjust and the MG trucks that have it pinned are unable to reverse. You spot the men beginning to pile out.

Can't have that.

You aim dead center of the two MGs and transports against the blockade. With a satisfying thunk, the rocket is fired as the barrel unit finally empties out fully. The missile travels at a high speed as you crouch low to quickly load more missile into the barrel unit. You hear a loud explosion as your aim is dead center. Once the launcher is loaded you immediately leap off the building to the ground below.

You spin mid-air to see the smoking remains of the column. Only two MG trucks remain. Not for long you think as you bring up the Launcher one final time. Aiming while free falling is a lot more complicated. The window for firing is even smaller than it is when aiming at speeding targets. Nonetheless, you're unsurprised by the sight of the two last trucks exploding when your missile slams into the ground between them.

Effectively shutting down that section of reinforcements and with an M19 to spare you turn over in the air and push yourself towards a street light. You grab onto the light and manage to pull the structure with so much force that it completely bends as you gently drop yourself to the street.

Quickly running over to the parking lot you skip the stairs by jumping up and grabbing onto the ledge of a level and propelling yourself higher and higher until you reach the top. The scene here is bleak.

Men and women roll around on the floor screaming and moaning in pain as they hold stumps and severed limbs. Scorch marks cover the area detailing the aftermath of the explosions. In scattered areas rests small pools of blood or blackened limbs. You ignore their cries for mercy as you step over the metal remains of vehicles and anacondas heading towards the men who look the most held together.

You crouch beside a man who has all his limbs. A quick inspection reveals that he's still alive. You slap him awake and he stirs from unconsciousness to see your form clad in deep black holding a Battle Rifle. He screams.

As you pick the man up bodily and he fights back futilely you remember a lesson Menendez taught all of you years ago.

You were the last cadet into the auditorium. While the other cadets walk straight in you stopped to speak to Déjà. The A.I looked so concerned that you thought you should try to cheer her up. When you went to talk to her she simply smiled and told you that there was a lesson you were due for. After waving her a goodbye you went into the auditorium and took one of the seats in the back.

"Listen up Cadets!" Menendez had a voice and stature about him that made any who listened feel compelled to listen. "Today we are going to learn how to interrogate a man." A stage raised behind him revealing three men wearing all black and another man tied to a chair, eyes shifting around in pure fear. "There are two ways to break a man. You break his spirit and convince him to talk. Or you break his body and force him to talk. Pay close attention." Menedez walked off the stage leaving the three men in black and the man tied to a chair. They walked closer to him while camera feeds ensured that you all would see what comes next. For about a year or two, you were unable to get the sight out of your mind or dreams.

"FUCKING SPOOK SON OF A FUCKING WHORE! YOU KILLED THEM! YOU FIUCKING BASTARD! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" He screams in rage and pain. As you watch him struggle and fight against your grasp you can only think of one thing.

The man starts launching kicks at your chest, largely made inconsequential by your body suit and augmentations.

"DAMN IT ALL. LET. ME. GO!" Each word punctuated by another kick or a helpless punch. You decide to humour him and drop him to the floor. He quickly begins to crawl back and starts looking for a weapon. You slowly advance towards him. He reaches underneath his armour plating and pulls out a small gun. "FUCK YOU!" He yells while unloading into you. The bullets bounce off the suit harmless and clatter to the ground. He continues trying to fire, eyes closed even as the gun makes telltale clicks that it's empty. He opens his eyes and they widen in shock. The insurrectionist throws the gun at you and you slap it away like it was Yellow-Backed Fly.

You start advancing towards him again and before he can get to his feet to run you grab his leg and pull him back towards you. Lifting him into the air once more you tighten your grip on his throat, choking him ever so slightly.

"You're right." You tell him

"W-what?" He coughs out.

"I killed them. You turn him around and begin walking towards his comrades. "Each and every single one of them. I killed them." You make the rounds ensuring he gets a good look at his dead friends and fellow insurrectionists.

"NO! PLEASE! STOP! FREDERIC! FRED PLEASE GET UP! RUN! RUN!" You slowly walk towards the man as he stumbles to his feet. The moment he notices you his eyes go wide.

"Trist-" You run towards him and slam a fist into his back, crumpling the man into the floor. The man in your free hand cries.

"NOOOOOOOOO! YOU FUKING DEMON! W-W-WHY?! OH FUCK! FRED..."

"You can stop this."

"FUCK YOU!"

"Fine." You walk towards a woman on the floor. You noticed her movements when you broke the insurrectionist's spine.

The woman slowly stirs as you approach. The man in your grip fails to notice.

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST FUCKING END ME! WHY AM I ALIVE!?" He begs for an answer. You don't give it.

"T-Tristan?" The woman stirs and he goes completely still and stiff.

You watch as the man cries, limbs going slack in your grip.

"Fine." You say tersely and he instantly perks up. "Talk and she lives."

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! God bless you!" He shouts

"Who is that Tristan?"

"Nobody baby." You drop him to the floor and he instantly moves to cradle the woman in his arms holding her to his chest.

"Thirty Seconds."

"R-right! Uh, the Jammers! They're in the apartment complexes in the far southern end of Tremere!"

"Who is that Tristan?" She asks more urgently.

"Nobody... just the Lt! You know how he is!" He laughs nervously.

"What else?" You ask him.

"The other Emplacement is on the river to the West! S-sir!" He quickly adds at the end.

Wait. If the other guns were in the West...

You immediately turn on your heels and begin to update the TEU Map. Leaving behind the blind woman and the man.

You begin to type a message into the system.

All ONI FULMEN Operative send an update.

You continue running as you wait for an update.

Copper. Active. 2 Casualties. Defending at Alpha.
Wolfhound. Active. 10 Casualties. Searching for survivors following AA Attack.
You continue to run and still receive no update from Lt. Dana or Raynor and Solomon.

Damn it.

Yo. Busy trying to get these people home. 1 Casualty. Gonna circle round and hit the jammer.

You sigh in relief. All that's left is Dana's me-

Hammerhead. 15 confirmed KIA Casualties. 5 MIA. Lt is missing. How Advise.

>To be continued

Yeah Hammerhead rolled shit. Surprisingly Copper did the best. Next session either Friday or next week.
