>Got a chance to start, so will go today rather than Wednesday.

You were not but a humble maid for fanciful estate in the prosperous Southern Counties, but alas you were cast out!

Escaping a fate most terrible, you found help along the way, starting out with barely rags on your back, to now a tenuous member of the (very) lower middle class. By the grace of God, fate, or perhaps just luck, your life has changed dramatically in the last year and may yet change still. Something which brings fear as much as anticipation.

>Behold, a pastebin with the previous threads (now!) archived, as well as some basic information which will be expanded upon;

>>
>Last 'twas left off

Magdalena (you!) had been accepted to the lone magical school of Almace in the country's capitol, the Royal Academy of Magic. You were somewhat on the fence on the matter though, torn between the appeal of magical studies, and the imposed debt to the crown which would be supporting your study at the school.

All the while you were dealing with matters of becoming more established in the capitol of the country, having paid for the lease of a store, which your hired alchemist Aea would be operating for profit. On more personal matters, you'd also located a potential errand boy and knife combat teacher in the city, as well as a second hand gun seller.

>You still have a few days till the news of you being accepted to the Royal program of study comes, if there was anything you wanted to do?
>>
>>604685
Op why u no quote this thread the previous one

Practice our reading and writing, we're a farm girl after all
>>
>>604977
I didn't think people would check that, but I can back post sure.
>>
>>604977
>Get a tutor to improve our reading, writing and math.
>Practice with the short sword and the knifes
>>
>>604991
>Bluejay
Cast combustion on the bluejay.
But in all seriousness.

Call in the urchin bro.
Tell him we have an offer for him.
>>
>>604656
Also OP you didn't add the links for the tg archive it seems

>>
>>605029
We could kind of adopt him, we got money. We hire a tutor and use it to teach us reading and writing abd math, the same for the kid.

I miss Safe Heaven Quest
>>
>>605063
I personally am hiring him as a representative.

Teach him some math and sciences and focus heavily on economics.

OP said the kid was well rounded and had some charisma skills.
I think it's good idea.
>>
>>604977
>>605021
In preparation for the basic education requirements of the school, you practice the reading and writing you know (learned during your time as a maid) though may consider a teacher for that sort of thing? You only have a few days left though, so it's not like you can make a lot of progress.

>>605029
You find the urchin boy again, ___? and tell him you're interested in hiring him. He says he'll accept working for you, but up front he wants you to pay for and get him into a really upscale cat house. The cost isn't too high, but he can't get in on his own. He quite frankly says if he's going to be working for a woman, he wants to at least be a man.

>>605053
I thought I put them in the pastebin?

>>605063
You probably could legally adopt him, though he doesn't seem too interested in that. He never got by with parents before, so he doesn't need a mother now.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d100)

>>605072
Too young for that. We will have to both train him and wait until he becomes an adult legally.

I mean we are basically in the middle ages so he would have to be what? Sixteen or seventeen?

>>605079

And yes let's get a tutor.

Rolling for tutor best of three.
>>
>>605101
Damn, could someone do another roll?
>>
Rolled 55 (1d100)

>>605101
Supporting and rolling
>>
Rolled 40 (1d100)

>>605079
You did?

Didn't notice.
Whatever it'll be nice for them to be here as well I guess.
Sorry.

Tell the urchin kid the conditions.
>We will pay him a good wage.
>We will pay for him to get into an upscale house.
>He will be tutored heavily. Especially on economics and trading and such.
>He will not spill our secrets. Any we release are up to us.

Then pay him.(1 mark a week is fair right?)
>>605101
He's a couple years younger than us.
And people worked younger in the middle ages.
He is 17 at least.

Rolling for tutors.
>>
>>605120
Better could someone else do the third roll?

Also yes, let's buy him the house. But let's not pay all of it right away just in case he wants to scam us. Let's give an advance for it now and pay the rest later.
>>
>>605079
Convince the urchin

>I know you've managed to get to where you are now by yourself but you need someone to rely on if things go bad for you
>>
Rolled 38, 5, 64 = 107 (3d100)

>>605146

Rolling to convince him, best of three, 3d100 cause I don't wanna wait.
>>
>>605160
I hope a 64 is good enough to convince him.
>>
>>605120
>55

You find a tutor who will take you, in the form of a press operator, though he is often very busy so his teaching availability is limited.

>>605072
If you want a representative you should look elsewhere, this kid isn't really that sort. The most he's willing to learn is reading and writing, beyond that doesn't interest him at all.

>>605101
He says he's 15 but you think he's 14.

>>605129
He agrees with that deal, though not to expect for him to bow down and kiss the ground you walk on.

>>605160
I'll let it go but you really shouldn't roll thrice.

>64

You sort of convince him that he might need a parental figure, or at least a mentor, but he has a hard time imagining or respecting you as that person. He says if you're really that set on it though, why bother making it official? No one really goes through the trouble of actually adopting kids these days, unless they're royalty or something. If you want him to call you mom and pretend to be your son, you don't need paperwork for that.

>>605139
He doesn't want you to buy him a house, he wants you to accompany him so that you can get him into a cat house, a brothel. He's too young on his own, and doesn't have the money. Basically his up front payment he's telling you, is to get to have his first time with a lady.
>>
>>605196
>Reading and writing.

I see a potential trusted courier.
And someone to write down all the shit we need kept track of.

>Kiss the ground we walk on.
Who the fuck does he think we are? Why would we want that?

>Get him into a brothel.
We can do that.
Sure.
It'll be somewhat embarrassing though so get a cloak to hide our face.
>>
>>605196
U fookin wot son?

Hes fourteen and he wants to get his dik wet?

Not on my watch, no, well convince him some other way
>>
>>605196
>Let have our hired guy acompany him instead of us.
>>
>>605224
You don't get to talk lewd anon.
>>605232
Ask Aea to do it.
Julien left I think.
Give herthe money for it.
>>605196
Also
>Pretend to be our son
Please don't unless we need a cover story.
>>
>>605221
>I see a potential trusted courier.

Literally Julien. If you want a personal scribe and bookkeeper you should find someone else, this kid's lowtime street criminal scum with some generalized skills.

>>605232
The hired guy isn't around unfortunately.

>>605224
You're going to need to present a strong case to him not to, since the other players are fine with it.

>>605246
Aea can certainly do it, yeah.

And if he's not posing as your son then he doesn't know why you want to adopt him.
>>
>>605246

>Pretend to be our son

But that's what Maggie secretly wants right? A Husband and kids, this is as close as we're going to get

>>605253
Well shit
>>
>>605246
No need to pretend to be our son and yes let's have the alchemist do it. We can't ruin our reputation as student.

Once we are a student we could look for a better tutor since being a student in the royal magical school will open doors.

Did we find a tutor to learn how to use guns?
>>
>>605274
Guns are a mark of nobility.
We need a permit to own one.
Sounds risky.
>>605253
Didn't we send Julien off though?

Also can he pick locks?
Pick pockets?
And is he decent at tailing and eavesdropping?

If so I'll still hire him.
>>
>>605253
So he has family and education. Also insist that he needs to learn math or he will be cheated out if money very easily.
>>
>>605274
Once you're in the school they can teach you to read and write better for sure, that's they're main purpose. This was just in case you wanted something extra on the side.

As for the gun teacher, I left the choice in the air if you guys want to use the 64 rolled for finding guns for sale, for the teacher, or if you want to roll separate for it.

>>605283
The gun seller you found can sell you them without a permit since they're second hand, and also he's not exactly selling them legal. As long as you don't go around carrying a musket or brandishing a pistol, you shouldn't get in trouble. And in the case of self-defense use, they won't care at that point.

That's right that Julien was sent off, on courier duty. Unless you mean a courier specific to the city?

The kid can't pick locks, since locks aren't common, but he's great at picking pockets and mugging, as well as general theft and burglary. Tailing and eavesdropping, it's not something he's practiced in, but he has the skills for it.

>>605285
He'll age up to adult in a couple of years though, if you're really adamant on adopting him you can but he thinks it's a waste of time and money. When you bring up being cheated though, he changes his mind on learning math.
>>
>>605285
This. If he can't even count he will be cheated very easily. Even Pinochio mentions math along as reading and writing as a basic skill to success.
>>
>>605303
Good.

And getting extra teaching while outside classes to improve faster is posible yes? Like getting a student in a upper class to tutor us for money?
>>
>>605303
Ok then we can hire him as a kind of thief/information gatherer.

Send Aea to help with the kid with his brothel thing.
>>
So it looks like the consensus is to hire the boy and meet his demands. You don't want to take him to a cat house yourself though, so ask Aea to do it for you and give her the money. She asks if you'll pay for her as well, and you're not sure if she's joking.

At rate though, she takes the kid to get taken care of, and the next day he's got a bounce in his step and carrying himself differently, ready to work for you, whatever you need him to do.

>Anything else? You've only about a day left till you're approved.
>>
>>605366
Rest and take a bath, find better clothes to wear.
>>
>>605366
OP did we send that letter to the Marquis asking for all the stuff I put?

Also write a letter to our parents about how we're at the capital attending a school on magic. And that we met a dragon.
>>
>>605397
Currently you have to go and find someplace to bathe which isn't easy, but if need be you could ask Aea to get a tub for her store. It also occurs to you that the academy has got to have facilities for that.

What sort of clothes did you have in mind? You're not as swimming in money as you were, before you paid for Aea's shop.

>>605402
Yeah you wrote the letter and sent it off with Julien along with all the other stuff he was supposed to take care of.

I think it's fair to say you can retroactively have written to your parents as well. I'm not sure what sort of tone you're trying to carry with that though, it sounds hostile or at least bitter.
>>
>>605397
This works.

And a dress that will make us not look out of place in the Academy. And yes get that tub.
>>
>>605420
Not bitter or hostile.

Basically we're telling them we are doing interesting things.
>Attending magic school
>Met a dragon
>Started another business
>How you guys doing?
Basically.
Tell them if they need help they can ask us.
>>
>>605420
Let's not be hostile abd bitter, we aren't the bitch of our former master.

Let's get that tub and a single change of clothes that let's us fit in better should be enough for now.
>>
>>605430
As far as you know, the school actually has uniforms, barring certain circumstances.

You ask Aea to get a tub though, which she's fine with and has room for in the back of her shop.

>>605432
The problem is that they don't want you doing any of these things. You might not be hostile about it, but it's just going to upset them. Saying they can come to you for help is just worse.
>>
>>605463
>They don't want you doing Amy of these things.
Well they're so supportive.
Well screw the letter then they don't need to hear shit.
>>
>>605463
Let's not mention magic school then.

And looking clean and smelling good in our first day is a must.
>>
>>605474
>Amy
Any damnit.
>>605463
Why are they so unsupportive though?

How would they react if we became a noble?
>>
>>605482
They don't want you don't anything relating to dragon stuff, or your dragon background. Telling them you saw a dragon is even worse.

They might disapprove of you getting schooling or becoming a merchant, thinking you'd be better off settling down, but it wouldn't distress them. Magic academy and dragon visits would.

Becoming a noble they'd probably be quite proud of though. Like if you married a young lord to take care of you, that would make them the happiest parents in the world.

>>605479
That makes sense, want to look professional. Any ways you can, to not give them a reason to treat you like a peasant, which admittedly you are.
>>
>>605482
Unless is it by marriage we can't become a noble yet. We might be able to buy a minir tittle once we get enough cash and land. Maybe an island?

[spoiler[ Dragon countess of Montecristo
>>
>>605492
Yeah let's take a bath, be clean and wear our better dress. Do we have perfume?
>>
>>605512
Our alchemist could make one quite easily I think. Or we could just buy it.
>>

>>605492
>Implying we will marry a young noble.
I swear I can feel the implications flying past me.

How will they feel if we buy one?
>>
>>605512
You don't have perfume yourself, but Aea has more perfume than you've ever smelled, some of it magical.

She says she's got from the sort that can completely eliminate any scent, good for avoiding tracking dogs, to the sort that can drive men into wild lust craze. You don't trust her not to mess with you, so decide to just keep it simple and go for something mundane.

>>605546
Buy what, a title of nobility? Or a noble husband?

If you start getting into large amounts of money, it starts to go beyond their level of understanding as peasants, so they'd not really know much what to say other than something like, good job and don't get into trouble!

>So, your first day of magic academy tomorrow. Anything you have in mind, or way you want to make yourself known? Or not?
>>
>>605546
Hence why I want us to move to that country that respects strong matriachs as soon as possible.

Let's remember is not our family fault, they were raised that way and didn't have to face all we did to question those beliefs.
>>
>>605584
Anon I'm not dumb.
I know it's not their fault.
I'm asking for their opinions.
And also I already was for planning to move to another kingdom.

I plan to have us head down south. Plan a trip to the Orient. Subjugate some natives and become a countess in the process.
>>
>>605581
Let's just try to focus on learning.
Right now we ignore the nobles and drama and focus on learning.
>>
>>605581
When we get that much money, let's buy an island and a minor nobility tittle.

And no marriage unless we find someone we fall in love with and accepts the fact we will end becoming a dragon.

How is our best human friend doing?
>>
>>605598
That and making money.
>>
>>605602
Obviously.
If we haven't made money while doing it we've done it wrong.

I've been plotting for power and wealth throughout these entire threads.
>>
>>605592
>Subjugate some natives and become a countess in the process.

If you do that in the New World you might wake up and find yourself a Duchess. It's the two separate countries though, one is making headway in the New World, the other is in the Orient. Your choice really, which foreign land, and which parent country you prefer.

>>605599
>and accepts the fact we will end becoming a dragon.

You haven't accepted the fact that you will end up becoming a dragon. Surely, being a normal mostly human is just fine! You don't need more than you deserve!

As for Astrea, you have no idea since the letters probably haven't reached Rea yet, let alone return letters.

>>605598
Sounds like a good plan.
>>
>>605616
Maggie I'm not going to tell you to accept it now.

Just think about it.
That dragon lady was nice wasn't she.
A pleasant dragon.
>>
>>605609
My plans are.

>Buy an island
>Buy a minor nobility tittle.
>Move to a country more accepting of powerful females, the strong matriachs one.
> Build our power there and learn the local language.
> Once we win the heart of the people and win over the nobles interestes with money and business, get the best nobility tittle influence and money can buy.
> Go full dragon
> ?
>>
>>605616
Also
>Duchess
Yesssss.....

(At this point I can probably call myself Maggie's voice of ambition in her head.)
>>605636
>?
Put take magic to it's pinnacle and become legendary.
>>
>>605636
This works.

Not sure things will go well if we go full dragon even with the best nobility tittle we could get, but whatever.
>>
>>605636
My word, this is simply too grand for naught but a humble peasant girl!

>...though you suppose you wouldn't mind the love of a people

That wasn't out loud!

>>605647
So so so! First day!

You make your way over from Aea's shop to the academy, accompanied by that merchant's son whom you're having act as your guardian. He is quite taken aback when he sees you, saying you look lovely, and smell just as well. Once you reach the academy you are welcomed in and similarly complimented.

The first order of business naturally is the various administrative needs. You're present for the basics, like them explaining the nature of the royal program you were accepted into, and your responsibilities to the crown. After that though you're asked to wait outside, while they and the merchant's son go over the actual paperwork behind everything to do with your acceptance, enrollment, and relevant personal information like for example, who's responsible for you.

Eventually when everything is settled, you and the merchant's son are given a basic tour so you know what you're getting into. When the time comes for you to part ways, he bows and wishes you luck, whereafter you're taken by the headmistress of the women's portion of the school to appropriately enough, the women's dorms.

>Any questions or actions during or leading up till then?
>>
>>605702
>Be polite and nice, we can always ask questions nice. Is the first day and humans care way too much about first impressions.
>>
>>605702
>Though you wouldn't mind the love of the people.
And your ambition, draconic nobility, and desire to do good come forth.

>Questions
Anyone I should look out for or be wary of?
So what's it like in the dorms?
>>
>>605702
>Be polite and nice, no need to annoy them on the first day.
>Remember to NOT make up spells on the fly, we are here to learn after all.
>>
>>605702
Try to make some friends
>>
>>605717
*later
>>
>>605717
>>605726
The whole while you try to remain as polite as possible, your maid experience coming in mighty useful for that.

You also try to keep in mind not to magic weave if you can help it.

>>605718
>Anyone I should look out for or be wary of?

She says she's not at liberty to say specifically on that matter, and reminds you what she did before, that if you know your place you'll do fine. One thing she does remember to bring up though, but says it probably won't be an issue, but one of the male students is descended from a tarasque and is sort of the resident "big deal" for those of the staff and students having magical ancestors. Though you of course exceed him now, which could cause a little tension.

>>605738
You're not exactly there yet!

---

She continues on and leads you to the women's domicile, a separate building on the grounds. While it doesn't match the same official building make or style of the main building of the academy itself (stone and medieval), it does have it's own special charm. From what you can tell, it's an actual house that was built on the grounds, probably recently, and separate of any other buildings. The more modern style is appealing, and it looks well-kept and nicely decorated. Lots of garden plots around and small scenic areas.

Once led inside, you're taken up a flight of stairs, though you can make out some rooms and even some people here and there. From what little you know of the city and city living, the interior matches what you'd expect of a large, 3-story family house. Going up the first flight of stairs, you're taken along to a small bedroom with three beds, shown which one is yours though of course if the other occupants of the room agree you can switch.

It's a pleasant space, maybe a bit cramped for three but enough room for a personal space to put your things, and there's even a bedside table just large enough to sit at and do work if you need to. The high ceilings give a bigger impression of course, and the windows look out over the grounds within the walls.

The headmistress says welcome to your new home while as a student here, and to take your time getting settled in, she'll be downstairs checking schedules when you're ready to continue.

>What do you do?

Pic semi-related. It wouldn't literally be this, but this is the sort of style in which you can imagine the house to be like.
>>
>>605807
Looks cozy.

Take a quick look around the room
If we have any belongings with us put them in their suitable locations and then continue with the lady.
>>
>>605807
>Be friendly and meet your roommates.
>Remember to wear the uniform once you get it.
>Don't mention that you have a dragon parent until you feel you can trust your roomates.
>>
>>605830
>>605837

These two
>>
>>605807
Also a tarasque?
>TFW the child of a shitty knock off of your dad's race brags to you.
That dragon lady's sides would not survive watching it.
>>
>>605865
>Remember to visit the dragon at least once a month while we stay in the city.

"I decided to gather all power and influence I can before going full dragon. I want to see their faces when they realize that noble lady they been doing business for years turned into a dragon."
>>
>>605891
Tell her about how some descendent(not son mind you) of a tarasque is pretty famous around campus.
Due to all the power we have we are unimpressed.
>>
>>605830
You look around to see the other two living spaces are definitely occupied, not currently but they have various belongings about. One in particular is very strange to you, with trinkets and hung cloths of a type you've never seen before. You decide to similarly lay out your belongings in your own space, before heading down to rejoin the mistress.

>>605837
While you are laying out your things though, you detect with your senses someone trying to slowly enter the room. Looking around you see a quite young girl, maybe 10, startled that you noticed her. Hiding in the doorway, she asks in a small voice if you're the new sister with magic blood. She speaks to you in an overtly polite and respectful manner, calling you Madam for example (or the time-period equivalent) and bowing before speaking.

>What do you do?
>>
>>605903
>Be friendly and give her a hug
>>
>>605908
This.
>>
>>605899
Well a tarasque is no laughing matter, and could well kill a dragon in a fight under the right circumstances. The main issue of course is that dragons are much more magically powerful, and since this is a magic school rather than a fighting pit, you have the potential to greatly magically exceed him, which could cause upset.
>>
>>605903
>Yes, yes I am.
>I'm Magdalena. Who are you?
I wonder if she'll tell us what her magical heritage is?

It might be a sort of common thing for magic blood students(kind of like talking about your parents or family)
>>
>>605908
>>605910
She's such a sweet little thing that you can't help but want to pick her up and hug her. As you approach her though, she squeaks and runs away.

You try to say it's ok as you move for the door, but looking down the hallway she's already run off, and you can hear little footsteps pattering up the stairs to the top floor.

>What do you do?

>>605914
If the headmasters were to be believed, you're actually in a small minority of students and staff, who have magical ancestry.
>>
>>605935
>Let her go, she is scared.
>>
>>605935
Oh my god she's adorable.

I love how we can't be snuck up on.
These senses are great right Maggie?

Anyways let's continue that tour.
We can talk to our roommate after she calms down.
>>
>>605935
>> Let her go, poor dear.
>>
>>605943
You decide not to follow her, let her deal with things at her own pace.

>>605946
Returning downstairs, you see the headmistress speaking with an older girl about something to do with enough space at the dining table. When she sees you though she settles things with the girl and returns to you, asking if you got settled in and wondering how you feel about the accommodations?

She shows you a basic plan of the ground floor of the house, the sitting room, the kitchen, the dining room, the oldest girls' bedroom and separately her own bedroom, as well as a closet and a small odd room you're not used to with a commode. Apparently it empties to a small causeway that flushes out when it rains (or water is dumped in), though honestly you'd think to use a chamber pot like a civilized person.

After that she leads you back across the grounds and shows you through the main building of the school more properly. It's a grand old place, as you guessed probably a noble house in past centuries but now converted. You see some teaching rooms in session, though you are also introduced to some teachers who don't at that time have class. It seems word about your spread at least among the staff as they're all very interested and excited to meet you. As always you just try to remain as polite as possible.

After giving you the proper tour of the academy facilities, she goes over your class schedule, a schedule for the school for the rest of the week, and then takes the time to go over the rules. It seems like there's a section at least, dedicated to keeping the male and female students separate, except under circumstances which permit the presence of the whole academy. The separation rules notably don't apply to the outside grounds though.

Finally she leads you back to the ladies domicile, reminding you that you don't have classes today as your first day, so you may do as you please, though tomorrow classes start bright and early, and that at weeks end there will be an assembly where you're formerly introduced to the school as a whole.

Things to do.

>Let's go talk to dragon lady again.
Bring thief bro as our required escort.
And besides that. We don't have much to do so get comfy in our room and wait for that shy little girl to come back.
>>
>>606051
As you head out and try to leave the grounds, you are halted from doing so by the gate guard, who says that he's not permitted to let the ladies out of the walls without permission. You hadn't heard anything of the sort, and go to seek the headmistress again. When you find her, she's a little surprised you're trying to leave, but says they can't let you or the other female students go walking out without a male to accompany you. If you have need of one though, they have guards on staff for specifically that purpose.

So shortly after you're accompanied by one of the guards whose job it is to escort you wherever you need to go, and keep you out of harms way from ruffians and perverts. This does make you reconsider though if you want to go visit the dragon again?

Otherwise you might just head over to Aea's to let her and the thief boy know the situation with the school.

>What do you do?
>>
>>606068
Yes we go visit her.
>>
>>606068
>head over to Aea's to let her and the thief boy know the situation with the school.

Honestly I can't wait to move to that other country. The headmistress did not even care to mention that rule?
>>
>>606080
>head over to Aea's to let her and the thief boy know the situation with the school.

Let's keep our dragon parent from goin public a bit longer.
>>
>>606076
You head to Aea's shop to let her know of the situation and she bursts out laughing, while the thief boy says you should just find some way of sneaking in and out.

>>606080
She might have mentioned it but you thought it was for like, the young students. You could probably try and work out some kind of deal, since the gate guard did mention a "permission" but this is just what you were faced with on the first day, after being enrolled in the standard procedure.

>>606087
You decide against making it more obvious of your parentage, by not visiting the dragon. Though as you understand, the teachers at least all seem to be aware.

>What do you do?
>>
>>606095
>Read the books you were given
>>
>>606104
This

At least give them a quick look
>>
>>606095
Let's head back to our room.
And give our books a quick look.
>>
You decide to call it a day and return to the academy, at least you can look over your books. Eventually when you get back it's late afternoon and you see more people amid the grounds than before, mostly students. Still not that many, but more than before.

When you get back to your room as well, another girl is there, one of your roommates you'd guess as she's sitting by her own table writing something. When you enter she jumps up rather excitedly and runs over to you, greeting you warmly and welcoming you to the middle-girls room. She has a lot of questions for you, though more about you than about anything to do with magic or your experiences with it. While doing so she invites you to sit on her bed while she takes her chair, and reaching down pulls up a floorboard, where she draws out from among other things, a bottle.

She pours the both of you a glass of wine to talk over, introducing herself as ___?, 18 and a fellow Almese like you. She's not a noble but from quite a rich background, and is naturally magically gifted, though as said she doesn't seem to care all that much about magic.

>What do you do?
>>
>>606128

>What do you like doing?
>So why'd you come here?
Let's just make some small talk and get to know each other.
>>
>>606128
>Politely refuse the wine, it could be a magic potion.
>Chat with her, but don't mention the slave brand and the kobolds. Don't tell her around the dragon parent.
>>
>>606131
>>606134

These two.

Is a really bad idea to drink with a stranger that can do magic.
>>
>>606128
OP can we smell when things are drugged and or have magic in them?
>>
>>606138
Not always.

Is not a good idea to think it will always save us when we already saw the alchemist said that she knows how to hide smells.

A magical student could do the same with a potion in the wine.

Do remember our other roomate was scared.
>>
>>606136
Also question.
Why would she drug us?

I like reasons founded in evidence for my suspicions.
>>606143
We hugged a shy 10yr old without introducing ourselves first.
>>
>>606148
Because we are new, also because if she really was nice our other roomate would not acf so scared.

Also, are we as students even allowed to drink wine?
>>
>>606148
No we didn't. As soon as we moved close she ran away.
>>
>>606153
>>605935

>>
>>606153
>>606155
What I mean is.
Don't approach children without introducing yourself.

(Also I'm getting tired night OP)
Don't be too paranoid anons.
>>
>>606138
Definitely, if you know what to smell for. Unless it's magically tainted, but then in drinking it you'd just react badly and know without suffering the effects since you resist magic.

Though right now you're barely dragonic so it's hard to say. Your smell is still more developed than a person's though.

>>606134
To your smell it doesn't seem laced with anything, and to be fair she's drinking it herself. You don't feel polite to refuse her but you also don't actually drink any for now. At the very least, you don't smell any deceit or ill intent on her.

>>606131
>Beatrice!

You talk for awhile and though you're understandably shy at first, she's a really cheery and friendly sort and you soon surprise yourself with how open you're being with her. It's not one sided though, she's up front with everything and seems honest, and just really friendly. Enough to disarm you at least.

>What do you like doing?

She really loves sailing, even if she's not allowed to actually work a boat. Her father owns some ships and she's accompanied him before. Here in the city at least though, every so often she tries to pay for a boat to just trip up and down the river for a few hours, and she invites you next time she plans to do it. Her other interests though surprise you and are a good mix between upper class type activities and more "common" things (though still above low class) that you're familiar with at least from your maid days. You get the feeling that while she has the wealth of lower nobility at least, she still enjoys commoner ways.

>So why'd you come here?

She says after she displayed a magic talent, her father thought it a grand idea to send her to such a prestigious institute given the chance, and it would turn her into a fine lady. She on the other hand came here to make connections and understand the run of things in the capitol.

>>606134
In talking about yourself you leave out some obvious details like being branded and disgraced, being imprisoned by kobolds, stuff like that. You also intend to leave out your dragon parent, but she rather forwardly asks (though quickly apologizes with a laugh, and asks if it's ok) what your magical heritage is. It seems like the little girl from earlier, word spread at least this far that you have magical heritage, though it didn't make it past the teachers what the creature was or how close it was to you.
>>
>>606156
Is the middle ages, children are way more trusting of strangers.

Also we are also a girl and a student, the fact she ran away scared means she could have faced abuse from other sudents.
>>
>>606152
>Also, are we as students even allowed to drink wine?

Given how she was hiding it, you'd guess not.

>>606156
That's fine, I'm headed off pretty soon myself.
>>
>>606162
>Tell her you don't want to say yet.
>Ask her about the little girl that ran away
>>
>>606163
Also why aren't we just using our ability smell intent and emotions?
>>606166
Nice.
>>
>>606162
She could have drank the antidote beforehand or be inmune. >>606168
This works.

Remenber the Princess Bride
>>
>>606171
Because is far from perfect. And smell can be deceived.
>>
>>606173
Not really that imperfect.
So far only another dragon has been able to beat it.
It's even specific to the point of detecting "cautious optimism"
Also I don't think science is advanced enough to know that humans emit pheromones that we can pick up on.
So why would someone prepare for it.
>>
>>606168
When asked about your heritage, you say you're not comfortable talking about it. She tries to persuade you, saying it's alright you can tell her, stuff like that, and it nearly works. She's able to get you to indirectly admit that the magical entity was a parent of yours, though not what it was or which parent. That's enough for her though and she's visibly impressed, saying the next closest non-human parent of someone here is grandparent, the few others are even more distant than that.

You do happen to ask her about the young girl, even without knowing her name, Beatrice knows who you're talking about. That would be ___?, 12 though from a very poor background so she hasn't grown properly. She's Almese as well though, and is here on the royal sponsorship program, like you. You ask if she's normally so finicky and scared, Beatrice is confused at first but when you explain what happened she understands well, and gestures for you to keep your voice down about that. She says she doesn't want to get too much into it, but the little girl rooms upstairs with ___? who is a real pain, and genuinely horrible and cruel to her regularly. When she first came here a couple years ago, she was already reserved, but it's only gotten worse since then because of the other girl. Beatrice figures the only hope is that the other girl ages up to middle-girl status, like you guys, but then that would still leave the little girl alone upstairs for years still.

>What do you do? Do you want to know anything else of Beatrice, or have anything you think she should/would want to know?
>>
>>606181
Because there are other students with inhuman ancestry? Smell is quite a basic sence if we got improved while still looking 100% human.
>>
>>606191
>Who is my other roomate then? I thought it was the little girl.
>>
>>606198
This

And

>Anything I could do to help?

Why.
Just why.
No normal human with basic intelligence drugs someone because they're new.
Especially not at a magic school.

MAGICAL SORORITY HAZING

I would imagine that would cause many accidents.

Why would you harass a magic student.
There are so many inherent risks.
For no benefit.

It's an accident waiting to happen.

You ask about the other roommate, she doesn't get at first who you mean, till you point to the other bed and realization hits her like a brick. Your other roommate is ___?, 20 and from the Selden Empire. She's foreign nobility and quite interesting, also the only other female student who has a magical ancestor. As if to answer your curiosity, Beatrice barely contains her hype in a half-shouted whisper attempt.

>"Fire elemental!"

If she is foreign then that would explain the very different look of her personal things. You wonder if she dresses the same way? The little girl, Beatrice informs you, lives upstairs for the youngest girls. The house is roughly broken down that way, top floor is the youngest girls, second floor is middle-girls (you guys), bottom floor is eldest girls and the headmistress.

>>606199
She assumes you mean about the little girl when asking about help, but visibly sadly informs you that no, the other girl is nobility while the little girl is not. She's also quite good about hiding her cruelty from the headmistress.

Let's try to talk to fire elemental noble lady.

I'll call her Maeyal.
>>
>>608238
Well she's not there right now, but you imagine at some point she'll be if she's living with you. You could go looking for her or just wait.

>>606212
So continuing from here, what's your plan?
>>
>>608268
Well let's continue talking o Bea.
Ask why she's so hyped about magic blood students.
Ask why she wants to know ours so bad.
>>
>>608268
You got that list of un named places and people op?
>>
>>608278
Well for now you keep it up with her since there's little else to do, and she's fun to talk to. You ask her why she's so interested in those with magic ancestry and why she wants to know yours. She responds that you should get used to it here, and if you think she's "hyped" then you should wait till you meet other students. For her personally at least though, she figures there's always at least an interesting story about someone with a non-human ancestor. Plus, people like you are so rare that it's hard to not be curious at least.

Awhile passes where you continue getting to know one another better, when eventually you sense someone approaching, followed by a knock at the doorway. You see an older girl in quite fancy looking clothes, looking to speak with Beatrice but happy to meet you and introducing herself as ___? and speaking very formally. It's hard not to be impressed with her presentation, and you'd feel safe in assuming she was nobility. Almese at that, unless she learned the language perfectly.

You figure to give Beatrice some space to talk to the other girl, maybe get back to organizing your space now that you're settled in.

>What do you do?
>>
>>608338
It's suposed to be the pastebin, I'll try to update it with the more prominent people and places which need naming,
>>
>>608374
Start getting our stuff together.
Wait until they're done chatting.
Introduce ourselves to (Eliza)
Tell Beatrice she can know our ancestry but she must keep it secret. And play for it.

20 questions in the 1500s
>>
>>608384
Well while they're talking, you notice Maeyal to come into the room, confirmed when Beatrice and Eliza acknowledge her. She lives up to the reputation she was given though, dark skin and darker hair, and a very different style of clothing accompanying what you can see of her uniform underneath. She notices you to your side, but assumes your busy you suppose, since she goes to her own space laying out some books beside the various adornments on her table.

Want to do anything different, or keep to the plan of >>608384
>>
>>608437
Yes.
Invite them all to play.
Then we can girl talk and bond after we finish playing.
>>
>>608437
Question OP
If we go full dragon and have children with a human will they be half or quarter dragon.

Am I right in thinking half?
>>
>>608446
Taking the chance with several of them there, it takes a little courage but you speak up, aiming at Beatrice but intending for the other two to hear. You say you'll let her know your heritage if she can figure it out with a guessing game. She very flatly responds that she already knows, but Eliza is quite taken with the idea and Maeyal is clearly interested so Beatrice suggests for them to play, she'll get a kick out of it.

In a sort of rough similarity to 20 questions or so, they make it to about 15 before they figure it out. They are both amazed and clearly want to know more, but Beatrice butts in and wants to use the remaining 5 questions to ask about your conception and the details of it. Eliza is clearly embarassed and tells Beatrice to stop, but only half-heartedly and clearly interested as well while trying to remain polite. Maeyal meanwhile just has a knowing smile, and given her ancestry, she's more than familiar with strange relationships.

>What do you do?

If nothing else, you're now the center of attention and the other girls have gathered around you, either in chairs or on the beds. It's tough to be sure, you're quite shy yourself, but it brings back old feelings of having friends. Back when you were a maid, and all was well.
>>
>>608475
If you fully become a dragon, then any children you have would be half-dragon, since by becoming a full dragon you would have basically destroyed the 50% of your human genome for it to be replaced with dragonic.

Though *any* children would be half-dragon, you're not limited to just humans. It's not like that's something Maggy would consider, but the caged dragon wasn't lying when she said she had a half-horse child.
>>
>>608481
We will answer say one thing about our conception.

>My father was the dragon. Now enough about me
. I want to know more about all of you as well.
>>
>>608547
Beatrice is obviously disappointed when you don't go into any detail, the others less obviously, but you turn the attention to them. Beatrice already talked about herself before, so prompts Maeyal to go first. It's difficult to understand her at first because of her accent, but after awhile you get used to it and have an easier time. From far to the southeast, she was able to come here after the alliance between Almace and the Selden Empire was formed for the war, her father thought it well for her to bridge the new friendly culture, and not such a bad idea that at least one of his daughters pursued the family heritage and took up magic. You ask out of curiosity for your own similarities, she says her grandmother is a fire elemental, and the fire burns bright in her family, though she herself displayed a knack for magic so stood out in that regard.

Eliza follows after, a noble girl from the northwest coast of Almace, Beatrice lets on that her family is old and respected, though not necessarily by fellow Almese. Eliza's interests are quite refined and much too high for the likes of you, but all very proper for a noble lady. Originally her family was against her education in such matters as magic, but after learning of the academy's original convent-style roots, organization and education, her father was more agreeable to the matter. Maeyal is a relatively newer attendee here, but Eliza and Beatrice have been students for a good few years now, though Eliza is among the older girls.

It's all well and good, but they want to know about your background now, more about you personally. Some of what you'd gone into with Beatrice before they arrived, they're curious about such things as your family, how you came to be here and in the royal sponsorship program, and of course your social life with a distinct interest in any possible men in your life thus far.

>What do you do?

You tell your story and situation to them, which as nobles they find quaint and facinating. Particularly Maeyal who has lots of questions, you assume peasantry fares differently where she's from. You do leave out some details like Avor and Arachne, but they can't get over how strange and amazing it is for a young woman to have her own business. Maeyal is impressed by the novelty of that, Eliza is impressed by the silk. When you talk about the merchant's son you're using as a male guardian, that just further impresses them, and they think you to be quite the renegade with working around the system and breaking through traditions.

You also bring up your magic weaving ability in relation to Maeyal and her heritage, and their interests turns academic. They want to see an example of you performing this kind of feat, since no one else in the academy can do such a thing.

You hear the other girls gasping, as you open your eyes and see in your hand the faint makings of a glowing bow, whisked from the aether. Your other hand similarly, holds an arrow to match. The girls marvel at it, Eliza in particular claps while Maeyal asks what you're going to do with it now?

>What do you do?

Note that because you spell weaved, you ran the risk of mutating, however the result of 43 was under 50, which is the threshold for mutating, so you're safe. The downside of course is the spell is decent, but not as good as it could be.

>>608756
>99

Opening your hands and letting the bow and arrow dissipate to nothing, you begin the process anew, and on top of just imagining the process you actually attempt to channel your magic into the spell.

It stats out the same at first, as you feel the aether take shape in your hands, take form. You start to feel something you didn't before though, heat and weight. You think it to be a good sign at first, as the bow and arrow expand and take on a more solid form, the other girls amazed and cheering you on. The heat and weight starts to increase though without your will for it to do so, as it starts to burn and grow beyond a useable size. It's becoming difficult to control you realize, and start to smell worry among the other girls as you attempt to bring the expansion to a halt. Finally when they start moving back out of necessity and asking if you're alright out of fear, you attempt to cancel the spell altogether. The result is catastrophic and comes without warning as the bow and arrow expands to a massive size and a blinding light fills the room, accompanied by a faint but definite sound of beautiful harmony. You feel yourself burned away against the splendor of the weapon as everything turns to gold, and the last thing you remember hearing are screams.

I hope we didn't go full dragon.

But then again I didn't roll a 100.
>>
>>608795
You awaken an uknown amount of time later to a ringing in your ears, the sounds of talking, of furniture moving, of utensils and dishware clinking, chewing? eating?, laughter and whispers. Scraping above, above the ceiling, but below the floor? A rat? Something else.

You yelp in terror when Maeyal shouts loudly in your ear, and you jolt up looking around. She's sitting with you but she wasn't nearly close enough to speak anywhere near your ears. She places her hands on you and tries to calm you down, and her tone and words sound soothing but the volume is painfully loud as you draw your hands to your ears wincing from it.

Through all the barrage of noise, you might be shouting yourself as you ask her not to talk so loudly. She doesn't seem to understand, but when next she speaks it sounds like loud talking, at least not painful so that you can lower your hands. From her tone though and the way she's speaking, you think she's whispering to you, asking you if you're alright and that you should stay in bed but she brought you food. Everyone else is downstairs having dinner, while the headmistress had been waiting for you to wake up but currently has ducked out for a moment.

To follow up, she tries to get you to lay down, and picks up a bowl on the table besides, in an attempt to feed you as she keeps "whispering" and saying it's alright and for you to relax.

>What do you do?
>>
>>608831
>What just happened?
>How long have I been out?
>Check ourselves for any new mutations.

Also Holy fucking shit we're alive!
And everyone else is too!
>>
>>608831
Well shit, this new mutation is inconvenient

Can we try tu suppress it in any way?
>>
>>608843
Oh wait we have super hearing?

>Try to dull it. Block it out.

Also OP what happened to our spell?
And can we summon it again without losing consciousness or mutating?

We do know the spell already.
>>
>>608849
>Try to dull it.

How?

As for the spell, do you try and perform it again? That's how you would know.

>>608838
You ask Maeyal what happened, she tells you after you conjured up the bow and arrow it grew too big for you till it exploded like a sunrise in the room. There wasn't any physical damage and she and the other girls weren't hurt (apart from having trouble seeing for a little while after) but you collapsed in a severe seizure before losing conciousness. Since then you've been asleep for about six hours, where it's now dinnertime for everyone.

As for any new mutations, you're pretty sure you know what the new mutation is, without needing to ask her. You ask for a little help, for her to try talking progressively louder, but not much more than a whisper and it's past the level of comfort. She apologizes and sets the bowl down on the table, the sound of which is so loud it makes you jump, and you return your hands to your ears.

>What do you do?
>>
>>608893
Do what they do in the movies.
>Close your eyes
>Focus on the sounds
>Imagine them getting quieter and quieter
(I'll roll for this if I need to)
Then
>Eat food

We need to go visit the dragon lady.
>>
>>608906
Supporting
>>
>>608906
This ain't the movies son! You try that, but it doesn't get any better. In fact, trying to focus on the sounds just makes them worse, not better. For now, you settle with keeping your hands close to your ears in case you need to cover them, and let Maeyal go ahead and feed you. She tries to hold a quiet, easy conversation while doing so, to which you don't need to respond but it's her way to help you relax and keep the mood easy. Awhile into this though and the headmistress returns, entering the room in a hurry and causing a painful situation for you where Maeyal has to explain to her the problem with your hearing.

Eventually she comes to understand, and finally sitting beside you and allowing Maeyal to go (she says goodbye and wishes for your good health), she wants to know what happened, and if you'd care to let her check you over.

>What do you do?

>>608928
>I thought about having a bow and thought about it a bit too hard so the talent for my dragon blood turned on and just over did it. I seem to have a knack for making powerful spells at will.

>Also my hearing is acting up real ba because of the blood. There's a dragon lady in the capital that I think can help. Can I go visit her?
>>
>>608928
>>608938

This and ask if there's any kind of spell that can help us with our hearing
>>
>>608943
So anon how stronk do you think divine bow is?
I'm betting the boom would be really nice.
>>
>>608957
Hard to say Anon, we need test it when we get a chance

I'd say pretty fookin powerful since it's made of Magick
>>
>>608960
Though really a 99 on making our own personal magic weapon.

Dice God has chosen our weapon specialty.
We've literally made a weapon that no other mortal can match.

Only gods beat this out.
We need to head to that church and try to talk to them.
>>
>>608938
To talk to her about what happened, all the while she's empathetic and understanding. Eventually though when she starts to piece together the event, she says you shouldn't have done what you did, you especially. She understands if you're still getting used to your magic, but for people with magical heritage it can be unpredictable and dangerous. That's one of the reasons you came here, to train and understand your magic, not show it off and cause risks.

Fortunately no one was hurt and there wasn't any damage, and she covered for you with the overseers, so you don't have to worry about repercussions. She does stress though that you not try to perform magic in the house again till you've been through the basic evaluation courses, and even after then, as a personal favor she asks that you keep it outside.

When you mention the problem with your hearing, she says she can probably get that taken care of, and will do so once you no longer need her here. You also bring up the dragon and wanting to visit her. She pauses to think for awhile, and says it's unorthodox, but given the circumstances and your health mishap, it would be permissible to miss your day of classes tomorrow if you think it would help going elsewhere.

>What do you do?
>>
>>608965
It was a 99 when you're barely a dragon at all. It's powerful no doubt, but it's not some godly powerful force of destruction. You also don't know how to use the thing.
>>
>>608966
Lets go right now if we can, we cant start classes by not going the first day
>>
>>608972
It's fully night time now, you're going to have to make a very strong case to even be let out, let alone the fact that the menagerie where the dragon is, is closed this late.
>>
>>608976
Fine then let's go to sleep.

But first ask if we visit the dragon does that mean we can't attend class for the whole day. Since we missed some of it.
>>
>>608976
Lets sleep then
>>
>>608993
I'm imagining what the bow looks like now.

Bright as fuck.
Solid gold look.
Looks like it kinda on fire with white flames.

I'm fine with it not being overpowered.
But it'll be nice if it looks cool.
>>
>>608988
You didn't miss anything yet. If you want though you can go through class, and see the dragon once you let out. Whatever you please, based on how urgent this is to you.

Whatever the case, you stay to finish your food, and eventually Beatrice and Maeyal come back to check on you, with some of the other girls (including ones you haven't met yet) looking in from time to time. Maeyal herself makes a special tea for you from her home country that's supposed to make you feel better, and Beatrice offers you can sleep with her tonight if you're still under the weather.

Eventually not long before it's lights out for your floor, the headmistress returns bearing a woolen cap which she says has been prepared to eliminate noise. You'll have to alternate using it though if you want to hear anything since it outright silences any external sounds. It shouldn't be too hard though, since it's large enough that normally it covers your ears, and you can roll up the sides if you need to hear something.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609007
>Put on the cap and get some sleep.
Big day tomorrow.
Attend magic classes and then visit her again.
>>
>>609007
Make two very small holes on the sides so we can hear a lil bit
>>
>>609029
No.
This is magic shit.
It might break the entire thing.
>>
>>609010
With help of the cap, you try to get some sleep. You have a hard time of it though, with strange, vivid dreams.

---

The next morning you're awoken by Maeyal who brings you breakfast in bed, and says she'll be accompanying you through your classes for the day. You question her own case in the matter, but she says the headmistress gave her the permission to take a makeup day of classes on the weekend.

Besides eating and getting dressed, is there anything else you want to see to? Maeyal has already eaten but is waiting for you to dress so that she will too. She does inform you the headmistress is downstairs with the other girls who haven't yet left for class, and she's waiting for you to help you along with your schedule at first, whereafter Maeyal will help the rest of the day.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609040
>Tell Maeyal we are heading out somewhere later and ask if she wants to come with

>Then get ready and meet up with headmistress.
>>
>>609029
Shortly after waking up you try to do this, but it doesn't work, just poking holes in it is the same as not having it cover your ears. So you have to shift the cap around in order to get the proper cover again.
>>
>>609042
She says she's fine with that, since she's got the day off. You can tell she's curious what you have in mind, but doesn't pry. She just lets you know she has a personal bodyguard staying in the city as a male guardian.

Otherwise you get dressed together, she offers you some perfume which she uses herself, after which you go downstairs together. The headmistress is busy speaking with a maid when you get down there, though she's glad to see you and thanks Maeyal for her volunteered help, and she asks you how the cap worked?

She goes over your schedule for the day, explaining it along to Maeyal as well so she knows where to take you. As she escorts the two of you across the grounds, this is your chance to ask any other questions?
>>
>>609077
No we've asked the all the questions we've needed.

Let the classes begin.
>>
>>609079
Very well, she escorts you two into and through the main building, to relatively small room with enough chairs and small tables for about twenty, with a main podium and a board. The teacher is already there and speaks with the headmistress where things are cleared up with Maeyal before she leaves the two of you. The teacher, ___? welcomes you both to his class and the academy. He's the reading and writing instructor for the lower grades though he supposes he may not be your teacher for long depending on how well your skills are on the matter.

After being shown your seat and desk, within the next ten minutes or so, the little girl from yesterday hurries into the room, only to nearly fall over herself in fear when the teacher greets her and asks how she's doing. Not long after that and an older girl but still a few years younger than you (you'd guess) enters, looking like she owns the place. The teacher very humbly greets her and similarly asks how she's doing, and follows after her and keeps his attention to her till she takes her seat. One thing you notice though, when she enters, the little girl becomes anxious and you can sense the fear on her that she tries to keep hidden. Otherwise though the teacher asks everyone to be seated for class to begin, before asking if you wouldn't mind introducing yourself and giving a recital of your language skills, anything you can think of or know.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609096
>Introduce ourselves. Be polite.

>Tell them our language skills
Basically we can read and write.
Though it's not advanced.
>>
>>609099
You can do that but the teacher wants a recital, as in for you to recite something you know from memory. He's hoping for some sort of literary passage or poem, but it could be anything you want, your choice.
>>
>>609108
Start reciting passages from the basic magic books we read.
>>
File: image.jpg (158 KB, 1023x681)
158 KB
158 KB JPG
>>609114
Your most recent thorough reading, your magic books spring to memory. You are able to recite them quite well, and the teacher thanks you after a few passages, but he says he would have preferred something less academic and more artistic, since this isn't a magic studies class but a basic reading and writing class.

At any rate though you follow along through the class decently well. You've never been formally taught in such a way before, but the teacher tries to make it easy for you to take to. A few times though you notice the older of the two young girls audibly express disdain for having to be held up, which the teacher apologizes for.

Over and hour of this and the class concludes, whereafter you're given some personal time, like say if you have to use the restroom, and during which time the teacher takes his leave to be replaced after some ten-odd minutes by the next teacher. Maeyal informs you that's the basic teaching method, you have a group you're assigned to based on your competency, and your group has a room through which the teachers cycle. Only later will you have to cycle to a new room with the other girls, for actual magic teaching.

The next course is math and numbers study, the new teacher acknowledging you but not taking the time aside to otherwise get to know you or determine your competency.

>What do you want to do?

You've got another two classes after this before the mid day break, after which actual magic classes begin. Unless you have anything particular in mind, you can progress through your morning classes without issue. It's only your first day, after all.
>>
>>609137
Then progress through them.
Let's get our basic studies done.
>>
>>609139
You continue through your standard education classes fairly well, by the the end of the second class you're getting used to the student learning format, always with help from Maeyal if you need it. Your last teacher, for histories studies, informs you that you'll probably be going through a week of this while he and the other teachers figure out your personal competency, after which you be administered an exam, which will all determine if you are properly placed (currently with the lowest grade of the girls). Some of the material is hard, some of it easy, so you're not sure how you feel about your competency overall.

The midday break arrives, as the other two girls leave one after the other (the youngest one running out the first chance she gets), and Maeyal asking how you feel about things so far, and if there's anything in particular you want to do for the break. Otherwise she can just lead the way and go about her usual, till classes resume.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609149
Let's tail the poor little girl and just keep an eye on her till break ends.
>>
>>609155
This and try to get her to trust us
>>
>>609155
Only question, do you take Maeyal with you during this effort?
>>
>>609159
Yes.
Back up us good
>>
It takes you a little while, mainly because you would have thought her somewhere inside the main building, but eventually you track the little girl with your smell to a little area behind the groundskeeper's house, between it and the outer wall of the academy. In trying to sneak up on her you can't get a good sense of what she's up to, but you can hear her talking to herself in different voices as if she's different people, and by a quick glance she looks to be kneeling on the ground. Overall it's a small space though, probably where a wheelbarrow might be shoved normally, but no one would ever come back here otherwise.

>What do you do?

Maeyal waits for your lead since you were the one that lead all the way over here.
>>
>>609171
Try to dragon sense what's she's doing
>>
>>609171
>Have Maeyal move to help us block off her escape.

>Say greet the child.
>>
>>609173
What you know of her *was* using your dragon sense, Maeyal has no idea otherwise and you had to tell her what you found out.

>>609176
You have her move with you to prevent any escape, and together sneak around to the path leading down the side between the house and the outer wall. When you announce yourself and say hi, the girl jumps in place and gives a short cry of panic, completely caught off guard and obviously scared. Her eyes dart around looking for a way out, till finally she clamors into the crawl space under the groundskeeper's house. Thinking you lost her you rush over to look down, but see it there isn't enough room really for her to go anywhere. You see and smell her scared though, crouched up and shaking, tears in her eyes clear to see as she's clutching a pair of crude, handmade dolls. You figure that's who she was talking to herself as at least.

Maeyal joins you in lowering down to see the girl, and makes sense of the situation as you do, trying to ease her fear speaing softly and reaching slowly for her to come out but the girl withdraws more and tries to hide dolls behind her.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609187
>Hi my name is Magdalena.
>What's your name?
>I'm sorry if I frightened you but are you okay?
>>
>>609187
>i had a few dolls like those when i was younger, don't be afraid (forgot her name) we're not here to hurt you

I gotta go OP, cya
>>
>>609195
I'm going to call her Lisbeth.
>>
>>609195
She never got a name actually, if I'm not mistaken.

>>609193
You introduce yourself to her, and Maeyal is familiar with her, and she eventually responds by shakily telling you her name, Lisbeth. When you ask if she's alright though she says she's fine and pleads for you not to tell anyone about her or her friends and their hiding space here. You don't detect that she's lying, but she's in distress and obviously wants to flee if she could.

Maeyal says this isn't right, and one of you should fetch the headmistress, but she overhears and starts crying, begging you not to do so.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609205
>Let's not Maeyal. Unless we can deal with this decisively we could make it worse.

>Don't worry Lisbeth I won't tell
>Those are your friends? Can I be your friend too?

I think I'll sleep after I resolve this shit with Lisbeth.
>>
>>609205
>da fuck Medal? There's no need for that.

Hang around with her until our break is up
>>
>>609210
>Medal

>>
>>609210
You can't fault her too much, she's nobility so probably isn't used to seeing human trauma like this. As a peasant you're more used to this sort of thing and know better how to deal with and comfort the child.

>>609209
You decide that it would be best for you to try and deal with this situation yourself, in case the girl's worries actually are grounded.

You let her know that you're not going to tell anyone, and Maeyal apologizes to her for bringing it up and also promises not to tell anyone. You also offer Lisbeth to be her friend, and you detect a moment of hope, before giving way to doubt as she says she has a friend, her roommate. She stops trying to get away from you, but still remains suspicious you can tell. It might take some special convincing to get her to come out, or you could just try going in after her.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609217
>Ah yes...friend...
>Be honest to me Lisbeth because I can tell when people lie.
>You don't like her do you?
>I'm not a noble either. And I've had really bad experiences with them too so I know how you feel.
>We can talk about it alone later if you'd like.
>>
>>609224
You tell her you know when people are lying, which you detect a hint of fear on her from hearing this. Maeyal obviously doesn't believe it and just thinks you're trying to talk out of the hole. Lisbeth hesitates for awhile though before answering, having taken the time to prepare and convince herself of her answer, when she says that her friend, the other girl, is her best friend and she likes her the most in the world. It stands out when she says it though because it's said with utter conviction unlike her shaky crying so far, and also it sounds to you like it was rehearsed, or drilled into her to repeat.

She does noticeably ease up though when you tell her you're not a noble, probably confirming her beliefs. Maeyal nudges you half jokingly, half indignant when you bring up noble mistreatment though, but doesn't say anything about it. Lisbeth though says she could talk about it with you if it was secret, in a secret place and you promised to God you wouldn't tell anyone, not even him. While saying this you notice she inches a little closer to you, or at least inches farther out of the crawl space.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609230
>I promise. It's just between you and me. No one.
>>
>>609230
>No one
I meant
>No one else.
Add in a.
>If you ever need my help you can ask. I'll do my utmost.
This girl has been somewhat damaged.
>>
I'll be heading off not much longer after this, but as usual will continue tomorrow.

>>609238
Well at that point it's your choice if you want to tell her when you have time to do so. You could do it now but you'd have to tell Maeyal to piss off more or less.
>>
>>609240
>Sorry Maeyal she doesn't want to speak around nobility. Can we have a second?

Ok OP I'll be sleeping in a bit anyways.
>>
>>609245
You talk with Maeyal who understands, but takes a little offense to it. She says don't go telling her to leave so you can replace her with Lisbeth, said with a chuckle. Before leaving, she lets you know she'll be over by the flower beds nearby.

Once she leaves, with some more talking you finally convince Lisbeth to crawl out from the under the cottage, and sit beside you on the ground. She's noticeably eased up, but still doesn't seem comfortable with you, never making eye contact which was the case before but now is more noticeable since you're trying to have a conversation. A quiet one, she holds the dolls close and scratches at the ground with a stick for awhile, before asking like the first time you met, if you have magic blood.

>What do you do?
>>
>>609249
>Yes
>It seems one of my parents might have been a dragon.
>>
>>609251
You let her know the truth which scares her and she asks if you're a dragon then? She also asks if you're feeling better, and wonders if that's what happened yesterday, when they said you got sick from doing magic, maybe because you're a dragon? She visited you while you were asleep yesterday to leave something under your pillow, and said some prayers by your side and kissed you in the hope that you would get better for it. If you're not feeling better though she offers you one of her dolls and says he always makes her feel better, abruptly cutting herself off before she can say what the doll makes her feel better from.

>What do you do?

If you want you can ask questions of her as well, unfortunately if you let her go at her own pace, the midday break will probably end without much getting said.
>>
>>609256
>If we're a dragon.
We're not a dragon. We can become one. But we aren't one yet.
>Got sick from doing magic
That means I become slightly more draconic. That's why I can tell when you lie. It's the senses of a dragon.
>Ask her about her troubles and if she has any problems with some of the people here.

I'm going to sleep now.
G'night.
>Ask her about her troubles.

>>609261
This and focus on her troubles

We formely agreeged to only use magic weaving in death or life situations. Of course using it to just impress a bunch of brats was gonna get anons salty.

And we really should get enough power and influence first.

Buy a minor nobility tittle at the very least if you are so gun ho about mutations.

>>609261
You tell her you aren't a dragon in disguise, though that one day you could become one if you wanted to. She says she hopes you don't because you're very pretty and dragons aren't pretty. You're not sure about being pretty, but you do agree that dragons definitely aren't. When you tell her it had to do with you getting sick, being part a dragon but that's why you can tell when people lie, she apologizes for lying and hopes that neither you nor God are angry at her for it.

Trying to talk to her better now that she's more open with you, she's hesitant to say fully but she says she's back here because some of the boys picked on her and threw dirt at her which got her uniform dirty and in trouble with the headmistress. Another more recent problem is that a gate guard yelled at her for trying to take care of a cat that got in over the wall, before he picked it up and threw it out. She knows the cat comes back but she's too scared to try to take care of it again in case someone hurts it. She also hesitantly brings up her roommate being mean to her but only if they're together, so she acts as if it's not a problem by her keeping away from her roommate as much as possible.

Trying to change the subject, she asks if you have any problems and wants to know how you deal with them.

She says though that you were able to run away when things got bad for you, here she can't run away. She also rolls up her sleeves to show you some scars of her own, and says she can't show you the rest without taking her clothes off.

>>610202
This makes her happy, and though she doesn't know where the cat is now, she tells you what it looks like and how to get it to come to you, as well as if she sees if she'll tell you.

>What do you want to do?

It's been awhile, and you hear Maeyal calling, saying the'll be ringing the bell for the end of the break in some ten-odd minutes. Lisbeth hears this and worries about the state of her dress, having dirtied it while crawling under the house.
>>
>>610557
OP we have any basic utility spells for removing dirt?

For now you have to return to classes, which turns out to work well for the both of you since for now you're both in the same grade of magic learning. Maeyal when you rejoin her wants to know what happened with Lisbeth, but otherwise shows you along to the next class.

>Anything you want to do before or till then?

You wave it off innocently enough.

The room Maeyal leads you to is different from your usual studies one, and is quite a bit bigger and furnished differently. It still has chairs and desks but they're facing the two longest opposing walls, so that there's a lot of open space in the middle of the classroom. You also notice here and there, signs of magic that was performed (or accidents) and weren't able to be properly cleaned away, like the sooty look of some sort of blast on the ceiling, and some of the wall molding elsewhere broken away.

You don't have the chance to really look around at your leisure though since the place is quite populated with adults, teachers Maeyal informs you. When you enter, a silence takes over and all eyes quickly turn to you, as you try not to look too self-concious. Out of the lot, an older woman approaches and greets you warmly, letting you know she's your teacher for the class and that you're free to take a space wherever you want, they'll be beginning shortly when the other girls arrive.

>What do you do?

Depending on where you go, the onlookers will part to make room for you.

You are just gonna ignore all those votes and the roll? When even the school mistress told Maggie to not do something that stupid again?

Then what the hell is the point of the magical school anyway?
>>
>>612356
I can't tell whose who or if people are single time or temporary players.

If at the moment, the playerbase (at that time) wants it, then the point of the quest isn't to tell them, no they can't do something they want to. They'll just have to face the consequences when the time comes, if they keep doing irresponsible things. Maybe try making a stronger case against their curiosity, so they think twice before trying to mutate so readily?

---

At any rate, because of an early presentation tomorrow, I don't think I'll be able to seriously continue play tonight, maybe just a few posts later before sleep. After it though, tomorrow up until the late afternoon/evening I should be good to go, and then of course the weekend.

To help with it, I might make a twitter like the one player suggested. Never done it before though so might take some trial and error.

I think I've been here since the first thread.

I was the one that wanted fae blood so that we wouldn't grow scales or anything.
>>
>>612485
Well that's good to know. Without trips though I can't normally tell who's who.
>>
>>612584
I used trips a few times at the end of a name.
>Like the one in this post.
But I don't tripfag often.

I'm neutral on it and just don't do it out of convenience.
>>
>>612584
Question.

What would happen if we had a child with a Fae?
Does it have fae and dragon blood?
>>
>>612707
It would depend on the fae really, and in what way they choose to have a child with you, if it came to that.

If it were a genuine and legitimate effort without any trickery on either side, then yes the child would have those properties. If you were not a full dragon then it would probably masquerade as a normal human without knowing, unless specifically informed. If you were fully a dragon though, then the child would be half and half from birth, and a significant deal for whole world.

>>
>>612906
Being fair, there's really no way that could go well for anyone involved at all. Dragons were driven out of the continent for a reason, and fae are are hated by *the* God and have to hide from him for a reason.
>>
>>612989
What did the fae even do?
Try to usurp god?

And the dragons?
Did they just kill too many people and got a bad rep because of it?

Besides that would be an interesting story.
>>
>>613041
You're not sure yourself specifically what the fae did, only what you know from common religious knowledge, that they're an affront to god and those few that remain have to hide themselves from his sight or suffer his wrath.

The dragons it's pretty straightforward as you said, they were the most dangerous creatures around, so once St. Garlan killed one, after thousands of years of them causing trouble and people suffering because of them, they were hunted, killed, or driven out. At least most of them. Something happened fairly recently from what you understand, that caused pretty much any and all remaining dragons on the continent not accounted for, to leave.

Anything else you'd have to find out on your own.
>>
>>613064
A great dragon exodus?

Oh shit I have to investigate this tomorrow.

And find out what the Fae did.

I have been here since the first thread, I just can't post all the time due to tinezones.

Anons seem to fluctuate into three groups.

Also when is just one or two votes you should really wait longer. Bespite most quest being moved here this board is still slower than tg.

>Anons seem to fluctuate into three groups.

And nobody ever cares what I want!

Anyway it looks like, for good reason, you plan to withhold from doing dangerous magic for awhile.

Though something to keep in mind, that as long as you don't go over 50, magic weaving isn't dangerous, and Maggy suffers no ill-effect. With best out of three, it's a pretty good chance someone will get below a 50, and be safe.
>>
>>610801
You find a seat at one of the wall desks, and Maeyal sits next to you. You have to keep your sound-blocking cap down because for now at least, the background noise of the room is too much. You get the feeling though that the adults are waiting for something, waiting for you to do something. At the very least you can smell their anticipation.

Not long after and you're joined in the classroom by Lisbeth, her roommate, and an older girl who is quite tall and bulky, looking like she'd be better suited to pulling a plow than performing magic. Just from the way she carries herself you can see she's quite a loud personality, and probably audibly loud if you could hear her.

Eventually the teacher for the class asks for quiet and allows the headmistress to explain the situation with your hearing (or so Maeyal tells you after) after which you're told it should be fine for you to lift the cap up to hear. Given the number of people it's still a little tough to bear, just with people scooching chairs in place or coughing, but it's not painful. The teacher herself informs you that normally this class would be devoted to magical study and understand rather than practice or performing, however given the great amount of staff interest in you, they'll be switching the lesson plan around for today since they've heard you know some magic already.

So as sort of an introductory gesture, the teacher asks if you wouldn't mind talking a bit about your magic, your heritage responsible for it, and ideally a demonstration. She says of course it's up to you how much you want to say about yourself since it's a personal matter, but all eyes are on you and everyone is clearly excited to see what a dragon-descended can do.

>What do you do?
>>
>>614050
Be polite and do a simple introduction and a demonstration of basic stuff.

Do not use magic weave.
>>
>>614128
As polite as ever, you introduce yourself without giving away too much, then demonstrate some magic (roll!) for them. You sense they were looking for something else, something special to wow them, but they're also not disappointed at least and are able to understand your tough situation.

Beyond that they stick around for the first half of the class which revolves around practicing and performing magic. The other girls are quite capable, and you have trouble keeping up with them and what they know without resorting to magic weaving to cut corners. It surprises you to know that they're all considered lower grade students, and you wonder what the other girls, or even guys are capable of.

Once the first half of the class was done (a focus on more advanced utility spells) the teachers slowly started to filter out, as gears shifted to magic study and understanding. This is more what you were hoping for though, material about, and teacher help for controlling and understanding your magic. Even from just a first lesson you understand more about the nature of magic than you ever did before, and based all on guesswork and belief.

It's about afternoon when the class wraps up, and the couple remaining teachers thank you for your display earlier, while your actual teacher says you'll get used to the pace of things and if you need any help just ask. While this occurs, you notice Lisbeth as before, runs out of the room first chance she gets, while her roommate leaves at her own pace. The other girl though, the older one, waits around and seems interested in talking to you once you're done with the teachers.

And Maeyal of course waits, since you told her about going out after classes.

>What do you do?
>>
>>614164
Go talk with the older girl but bring Maeyal with us
>>
>>614236
Thanking your teacher for the lesson and help, you don't need to make much an effort because the older girl practically shoves herself in. She and Maeyal greet each other (you hear her name, ___?) before she compliments you and says that was an impressive display for your first day, and that despite what the teachers had been hoping for, you live up to expectations. Going that much further she slaps you on the shoulder, catching you off-guard by the force.

She also wonders what you're up to after this, and while you noticed it before, by now you realize that she's got the same accent as Aea. She certainly fits the bill; loud, jovial, and overly friendly, without much a care in the world.

>What do you do?
>>
>>614261
Tell her we're going to visit a friend that can help us with our hearing problem

Im kinda suspicious about her
>>
>>614261
>Oh I just have things to do and friends to visit.

Let's try to leave grounds we have things to get done.
>>
>>614261
I have dubbed her Vela.

(I feel like I'm running out of names)
>>
>>614483
As used to you are of people taking advantage of you or trying, her friendly demeanor doesn't fool you! You act polite and say it was nice to meet her, but that you have to go see someone about your hearing problems. She says she understands and hopes for the best, and won't keep you any longer.

>>614511
Leaving the classroom with Maeyal, you tell her you're ready to make your leave and head over to the menagerie, but she says she'd like to change her clothes out of the school uniform before going. That makes sense to you, even if you don't plan on changing out of the uniform. Furthermore she says that she'll need to tell a school staff member that she wants to leave the grounds, and it will take a little while for word to reach her male guardian in the city and for him to come to the school in order to escort the two of you, so you've got a little time till then.

In any case, it'll take a bit before you can leave, but once you get the chance, you can go with Maeyal wherever you like.

>What do you do? Or, where do you want to go?

Worth noting that since Maeyal is (visiting) nobility, you'll have an easier time of going certain places without issue, and you're probably not going to be stopped by anyone.

You're not going to be able to get that many girls out, without approving of the school for an outing. Three is the most really, if you want Beatrice, but then it's going to raise questions, since a school guard is going to have to accompany you as well.

At least right now, it's fine with only Maeyal's bodyguard for the both of you. Again though it's your choice, if you really want to bring Beatrice.

>What do you do?

>>
>>616586
I assume you want to go directly there? You make your way through town to the menagerie, once again finding the dragon resting in the big open cage. She's aware of you again, and asks if you've come back for more? It looks like you brought her a treat. She doesn't seem to care if anyone hears this, people that there are around, but then it's not obvious that she's talking to you.

>What do you do?
>>
>>616623
Enter the dragons den.
Bea can come along too.
>Back for more
U wot m8.
>>
>>616651
Like before you're able to arrange a visit with the director, though you encounter a two-fold problem in that they're not willing to let so many people in to see her, and also Maeyal's bodyguard won't permit her going in there with such a beast. Maeyal though says it's fine, she got to see the dragon through the cage, and there's the rest of the menagerie to check out while you're busy, she's particularly interested in the mermaid.

Once you enter it's much of the same, as the dragon has moved back into the room and found herself a comfortable bedding arrangement to recline, as she asks if you've come back to stay permanently. She thinks together, you'd definitely get a bigger cage. Maybe even a park to roam around.

>What do you do?
>>
>>616675
>More things have happened. I mutated again and have sensitive hearing so if you could help me control that it would be nice. Also I used my dragon blood to do more magic and I'd like to see if you could help me with it.
>>
>>616687
When you tell her you mutated again, she says good for you and that's the spirit, giving you a scaly applause. When you ask her for help though, she looks surprised, and flattered that you'd come to her for help.

For your hearing, she says she doesn't know what human hearing is like, but her own hearing is much better than yours. The way she dealt with it growing up, was to get used to the softest sounds farthest away, and build up a tolerance from there. Not only will you get used to the advanced hearing, but also you'll become really good at hearing things that you normally never would. It may take some time and care, a week maybe so that it's not painful and a couple months to be able to hear whispering across a building, but you'll get used to it.

As for help with the magic, she doesn't know what you want her help with in that regard.

In hoping to show the dragon what you were able to do before, you try to conjure the bow again. You make it appear for a few moments, before it starts to shake in place and you lose control, the whole thing shattering and falling to pieces on the ground. As it shatters you feel a surge run up your arm and to your chest, a force that feels like an expanding pressure, like too much blood running through your veins. Once it reaches your chest, you're wracked with a single terrible heartthrob as if the heart of a whale suddenly thumped for one beat in your chest. The feeling is more unpleasant than painful, and collapse to your knees for just a moment like you were winded, but beyond that you don't notice or feel any different at all and the uncomfortable sensation has already faded just as quickly.

You look around confused, and the dragon is just uninmpressed.

>>
>>616971

>>
>>616971
Also let's not unsummon it because I don't trust us to summon it in a consistent way yet.
Let's let it undo itself if it even does that. If it can stay together until we unsummon it that's perfect.
>>
>>616996
The bows dangerous work Anon, why not settle for a normal bow and enchant it?

We cant risk convulsing and falling unconscious mid battle everytime we try to summon it
>>
>>616983
She says she has no idea since she's never had a problem with casting magic. If she had to guess though, she figures to just take your time and go slowly. To be honest, that's also what you were taught in your class, and in doing so you had no issues in doing any magic.

>>616996
Well it doesn't unsummon even as you stop focusing on it, but you don't really have any way of keeping it around, since it burns anything it comes into contact with. If you tried to wrap it in your clothes it would burn through and if you put it on the ground it would scorch it. Your body making contact with it though, seems fine.

>What do you do?
>>
>>617020
Well since it's a normal spell now we only risk losing consciousness if we crit really high.
Like any other spell so it's okay to use.
It's just annoying we can't get it at a consistent power level.

Let's have her check for any other mutations.

>>
>>617033
>Let's have her check for mutations
I mean check our mutation level to see how dragon we are.
>>
>>617033
Because you rolled so high in creating it, it will always be at a consistent level, unless you crit.

The different between you rolling a 95 to summon it and a 5, is negligible. Really you're just rolling, *just* in case you crit.

At any rate you ask her to check you again, which means having to undo your top again and letting her lick you. She says you taste more dragon-y than you did before, but that could just be from your hearing mutation. She says you haven't reached a point yet where she can solidly quantify how much a dragon you are.

Afterward while putting your clothes back up, you tell her you joined a magic school for training. She says that seems like a good idea, though she could have taught you herself if you were really so desperate. She admits she probably wouldn't make a great teacher, but she'd have done it for free, compared to whatever it took you to get into the school.

Beyond that you tell her goodbye and thank her, she tells you to be off on your way, but you get the feel she likes your presence.

You try working out again after months of not doing so, and feel that familiar exhaustion and burn. It's a little frustrating because you remember trying last time and not really noticing any benefits, though you did only work out that once to be fair.

Pretty quickly you're tired and worn out, sweaty too so you'll need to bathe ideally at some point. Either way you go about smelling and end up tracking Lisbeth to the groundskeeper's house. Looking around, you finally see her through the window inside, sitting with an older woman, talking and eating something. She looks... not unhappy for once.

Maybe it's all well and good, and nothing happened and you're just fine!

For now you just go to wash up, looking around for someone to ask and finding a teacher who instructs you to the way of a small wash house. He says you'll want to mark it as in use though, else someone might wander in, and also tells you of the normal schedule. You're lucky since it's segregated by gender every other day, and today the women are allowed.

The place inside is small and separated into a standing bathing area with some little privacy afforded by shoulder-high wooden separators, and an actual bath. Overall the place itself is quite small but could probably comfortably fit six people in the standing area and six in the stone tub in the floor. It's quite impressive to see for you, for who even single-person wooden standing tubs was a luxury. You'd also guess it's fairly old, maybe in use from around the time when this place was a monastery or whatever it was. Even more interesting you find, that the water dispensers put out hot water, just as the tub is hot and you realize they use magic to keep it all heated.

You've got a little while before dinner, how long do you care to spend in here? One thing you don't notice are any soaps or towels, though you get the feeling there's probably some back at the women's domicile. You don't really care enough to go there and back though when you're here already, and are fine with just wearing your clothes to dry. Not like you're going to be wearing the same ones to dinner anyway.

While relaxing and thinking to the soft sound of water lapping and the feel of steam rising, you take the time to try to get used to the sounds and better adjust your hearing. It's hard at first, but you try to parse different sounds apart and get used to the differences, using the dragon's advice and eventually becoming acclimated to at least the sounds of the wash house.

That's why it's so startling when you can hear someone trying to sneak in, looking around and trying to cover yourself (though given how the bath is in the floor, unless someone stands directly over you they're not going to be seeing much) before you call out and say the place is occupied. You start to make out more than one person and hear panicked whispering, the sounds of some pushing, and eventually a couple young boys run in quickly despite your protests and telling them to get out. Clearly they weren't prepared to be noticed, so they don't stop at any point out of fear and don't try to do anything else other than grab your clothes. Only too late do you realize this though, as they make a break for it again back out, and you unable to pursue them without having jumped out of the tub and run after them.

You hear the fading sounds of distant laughter as they bolt off, probably back to the men's domicile, leaving you stuck in the wash room without any clothes and feeling quite stupid.

Let's leave the bath.

You call out for awhile to anyone, but hear no response. You think that's as good a chance as any to check for yourself.

>>617401
Covering yourself you exit the bath, tiptoeing across the rough stone floor to the entrance. You can see the boys shut the door, so that wouldn't have helped your call for help. Opening a little and peeking out, you try to see if anyone's there you could get help from. Sight, hearing and smell though, no one close enough that you could call out to or get their attention at a distance.

It's getting late now so that makes sense you figure, everyone is either heading to dinner in their respective domiciles, or there already. You could maybe just wait you suppose, not like you have a lot of other options.

Not that sneaking isn't an option or a bad idea, just that you can't sneak that far, without like a 90+, and to actually make it into your room and get dressed without being noticed would take a 100.

Between a mix of the two, throwing your voice and casting lights, you eventually seem to catch someone's attention. A *very* tall older girl eventually nears the wash house and asks what you're doing. You've never met her before, you'd definitely remember if you had. Apart from her height and solid build, her skin looks a little rough and discolored and some of her features are stressed. The finer details are a little hard to make out in the fading light of sunset, but her underbite and protruding teeth are obvious in hearing how she speaks.

You tell her what happened and how you've been stuck here, she stars at you silently till you finish, then responds completely deadpan that you should take a towel next time. Without you needing to ask, she takes off her apron which for you works as a short cover for your whole front, and she picks you up in her arms and carries you back to the women's house. Making her way to the front door, she leans in to look around, before carrying you to and up the stairs, to your room (where Beatrice is, and alarmed by your state of undress) and sets you down on your bed before taking her leave.

Rushing over to you, Beatrice wants to know what happened, if you're alright, and if you need anything from her.

You tell her what happened which she gets worked up about, learning that's still a thing the boys do. Whoever directed you to the wash house on your own without warning you, deserves a kick in the pantaloons. She's glad to hear though that you're alright, and fetches some extra clothes of yours for you to put on, sitting in your chair and going on about it. Apparently, unless the girls are getting together to make a thing of it, they don't use the wash house and instead stick to the available tub here in the house since there's so few of you all and it's risk-free.

Once you're dressed again, she asks if you're going to join dinner with everyone, or if you still want to get your stolen clothes back?

>>617626
That's fine, I'm headed to sleep myself too here pretty soon. I'll continue for awhile tomorrow but I'll be pretty busy most of the weekend. Will make a next thread after that though.

She apologizes and says that she's never seen anything like what you did with the bow, so she doesn't really have any clue on how best to work with it. She says though if you really want to know, you should consider showing it to or asking some of the teachers about it. If anyone was to know, it would be them.

Will continue things at dinner when next I'm on, the first time you'll see all the other girls of the women's program in the school, in one place.

Later OP.

So dinner time rolls around and you go with Beatrice downstairs to the dining room to join everyone. All the girls end up at the table eventually, with the headmistress taking one end of the long table, and the very large girl taking the other end. You manage to find a space between Beatrice and Maeyal, but you notice fairly quickly that a fair amount of decorum is expected. Alongside magical practice, one of the main goals of the school here is to teach you all to be proper ladies by the end, so you notice the headmistress as she goes around to give out the portions, correcting placement of silverware and such. Once the foods all been doled out, she leads everyone in prayers before you can eat. Again though you see a fair level of restraint, the headmistress chastising anyone not holding utensils correctly or chewing with their mouth open, and of course any talking is expected to be done after swallowing. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be any rules against conversation, though pretty quickly into things the headmistress asks you to properly introduce yourself since this is the first time everyone is together, and to give your impression on your first proper day here, and of the school itself.

>What do you do?

- Eliza, the older noble girl.

>Lisbeth's roommate

>Headmistress
Nera
>>
>>619220
You introduce yourself to your fellow female students, some you've already met, but most are pleased to "meet" you anyway. They're all quite impressed when you talk about owning businesses yourself though, and ask about that, as well as asking how you think of the capitol?

Some of the more directed questions include Eliza asking the extent of your magic that you're aware of, Vela asking about your family and particularly your father (if you know him), and Nera asking about your day out with Maeyal, where you went and what you did?

Fortunately your maid training comes in handy here, and you've the sense to be able to talk and eat at the same time without mixing the two and getting nagged by Nera.

>What do you do? This would also be a good chance if you have any questions of any of them.
>>
>>619259
>Questions about our business.
One in silk and silk garments and one in potion making.
>How we think of the capital.
It's nice here and very lively.
>Extent of our magic.
Could you clarify that question please?
>Our father.
I don't know why he would come to visit me.
I'm pretty sure he'd be attacked on sight.
>Our day
I visited the dragon lady in the menagerie again and found a bow tutor to help with a new spell.
>>
>>619307
As usual, hearing of silk draws significant attention, and you're bombarded with requests for silk clothes and garments. There's laughter by some when you speak so highly of the capitol. Eliza means to ask, what's the most you've ever accomplished with your magic, since except for Maeyal, they're all restricted in their ability to perform magic. Vela asks further then, if you want to visit him instead. Lastly, when you mention going to the menagerie to see the dragon, there's a lot of chatter around ranging from surprise to disbelief, and Tia quiets them all by lightly bringing a closed hand down on the table which still causes it to shake. Nera apologizes for your being barraged with curiosity, it's just that you're not only the first new student in awhile, but also the first of your sort in a very long while. It's both a source of interest in pride, at least for the women's side of the school since it's a huge one-up against the men's side.

Eventually the conversation picks up again though more evenly spread out and not as loud. You get an occasional question your way, but unless you do anything yourself, the dinner progresses as normally as expected. It's a really nice experience for you though, because it's the first sort of group bonding experience that you've had in a long time. Since your time as a maid really, and you get that feeling you missed, the feeling of belonging and family.

>What do you do?
>>
>>619336
Let's enjoy the food.

And the question about the extent of our magic.
The amount of mana we can use is high. Really high.
Noticeable skills:Magic Weaving by focusing our magic with intent we are able to make a new spell with effects depending on what we want it to do. How it functions is still unknown.

And no we will not show them. We already showed Bea and Maeyal. They can ask them what it was like.

And let's get to know everyone else.
>>
>>619380
There's a fair amount of amazement around when you describe what you can do in your own words, since not even Maeyal is capable of that. As for a demonstration, you showed more than your roommates, Eliza was there.

Over the rest of dinner you try to get to know better the girls you're not familiar with. Jane doesn't seem interested at all, and actually even snubs you off. Vela is easy to get to know, as friendly and boisterous as ever, and to confirm your earlier assumptions, she's nobility from Aea's country to the east. She's seems quite unorthodox among the rest of you though since she's the sort who likes to drink and eat big meals and go hunting and sing with groups and get rowdy. Largely at odds with interests like sewing, reading, and gardening. Lastly is Tia though she's hard to get anything out of or learn anything about, similar to Jane. Unlike Jane though, it's not that she seems to dislike you, but that she's generally just very quiet, reserved and terse, and when actually directly asked a question she tends to respond in single word answers.

Overall though you have a good time, and after everyone's done, you're expected to place dirty dishes and such in the kitchen where the groundskeeper's wife will take care of the cleaning and the rest.

After all's said and done, you've got about two hours till lights out, and the other girls filter out through the house. Some go to the sitting room to sit and talk, read and study, or just pursue their own interests. Some go to their rooms instead, like Lisbeth who runs upstairs when she gets the chance.

>>
>>619584
Well I doubt it since we don't know who did it.
Though we should tell her about them peeking and taking our stuff.
>>
>>619584
You tell Nera about what happened with the bath, she already knows, that Tia told her. She's outraged over this, and will personally see to it herself tomorrow. In the future though she recommends not going on your own, even if just for personal safety, in case you should slip or otherwise hurt yourself in there while alone.

>>619551
It may not have been intentional since when you caught them they panicked and grabbed your stuff without thinking. The dolls just happened to be with your clothes at that time.

At any rate you make plans for the library tomorrow, in the meantime going to your room to continue getting used to your hearing. Beatrice and Maeyal are already up there talking about your day out together, which works for you since you can get used to adjusting your hearing to people talking. After awhile it's lights out, and you change out of your clothes and whatnot before turning in. To get better used to things, you also try to sleep without the magic cap on, so that even while asleep you can passively adjust.

---

You awaken the next morning fairly early, to the sound of talking downstairs, Nera and the groundskeeper's wife from what you can tell. As you were awoken by something which otherwise wouldn't normally be heard, your roommates are both still asleep.

You take breakfast with most everyone else then, having changed your mind. You sit beside Lisbeth this time who is noticeably happier and less on edge because of it. A lot of the same as last night, the food is doled out, you're lead in morning prayers, and then Nera watches your manners and etiquette while you eat and converse with the other girls.

After that you can head off to class, since there isn't much time for the library. Your morning classes go by well like the previous day, as you learn about reading and writing, math, classical and religious studies, the sorts of things any proper lady and student should know.

The library is pretty good, good selection, but you're not familiar with its organization. Or any library really, you've never been in one before. You do manage to find a selection of dragon books though, one about recent history that isn't too hard to read, and then a book about magical hybrids which includes some dragon ones.

Taking the time you scan through both now to get the general gist of what you're after. The history book, what you seem to glean from it through some quick scanning, is that a few decades ago, after the discovery of the New World, word started to spread and there were stories about a city made entirely of gold somewhere in the southern continent of the New World. Given all the gold that was being brought back by New World conquerors, there may have been truth to these stories. It was enough though that the few remaining dragons of this continent all traveled there overtime in search of legendary and fabulous riches. You yourself are actually familiar with this rumor of a lost city of gold, though you weren't aware that the dragons, like explorers, went off looking for it.

For the hybrids, unfortunately the only dragon ones it has are with some animals, like a half-dragon bull, a half-dragon wolf, and a half-dragon crocodile. There are some others, but those were the ones that most notably displayed heavy traits of the dragon parent overtime.

>What do you do now?
>>
>>619965
>Half dragon wolf
That sounds like a cool pet.

Anyways let's head to class.
We know where the dragons went.
All the more reason for our trip to the new world later.
>>
>>619994
The Orient and the New World are two different places. In your short human life, you'd be hard pressed to travel to both places.

Anyway, you head on to afternoon classes for actual magic. Again, it's really interesting and useful information for you, and it's nice to be able to perform magic in a secure environment and able to take your time so nothing goes wrong.

In the controlled environment of the class and under the instruction of the teacher, you're able to perform spells you don't know yet (still within your magic range though) and read then and there. The other girls, even the teacher is amazed because the same feat would have taken them months at least, to learn, understand, practice and perform the same spells. You managed it though just by reading once and skipping practice.

Eventually afternoon classes will come to an end, so you're free for the rest of the day.

>What do you do?
>>
>>620054
Hang around with our roommates for a bit then go find Lisbeth

If we find the headmistress during all that ask about our stuff
>>
>>620115
Beatrice isn't around at this time, but Maeyal is, you spend some time together and end up learning more about her homeland. Interesting sounding place, even if it tends to be an aggressor against your continent. What matters is that your parent countries are allies now.

After that you go looking around for Lisbeth, eventually finding her again this time by listening, which is becoming a lot more manageable for you. She's currently sitting in some bushes, talking with her dolls and you think she might have cast a spell in the time it takes you to approach her. Anything you're interested in doing with her?

You also try to keep an eye out for Nera to ask about your stolen stuff. You're sure you'll see her sooner or later though.
>>
>>620199
Just approach her and try to get her to tell us who gave her all of her scars
>>
>>620252
Your approach scares Lisbeth at first and she reflexively brings her arms up to her head, but when she sees it's you she eases up and is happy to see you again. You sit down to talk with her, and press the matter of her scars. She says some are from before she came here, when she lived on her own. The burn ones though, a little of what you've seen but the most she says are under her clothes, are from her roommate. Jane used to practice magic on her, and one time pressured her into agreeing to a magic duel, where Lisbeth was badly burned across a lot of her body. Jane was reprimanded about her usage of magic, but she wasn't really punished for her treatment of Lisbeth, since she's a peasant and an orphan at that staying here only because of the royal program, while Jane is from a prominent noble family.
>>
>>620305
We need to adopt her Holy Shit

Ask her if she would like that and spend the rest of the day with her
>>
>>620385
Also that's how i imagine Lisbeth looks like
>>
>>620385
While talking with her you ask if she'd like to be adopted by you. She says that would make her very happy, but she already has a guardian as part of the program and she doesn't think they would approve of you doing such a thing. She wishes it were the case though, and imagines aloud living in a nice house together away from the city where she can do the chores and housework like a good girl and you take care of the both of you with your business money and magic.

>>620406
That's pretty fair to say, yeah.

At any rate you spend the rest of the afternoon and evening with her, choosing to do more than just sit in the bushes as you walk around the grounds with her. She loves it since normally she has to hide from the boys but with you she can walk around without worrying.

Eventually the sun starts to set, so dinner will probably be in an hour or so.

>What do you do?
>>
>>620569
Sensory training.

Let's see if we can fine tune our smell as well.

Also can we challenge Jane o a magic duel?
>>
>>620591
Your smell was the first advanced sense you developed, by now it's quite well adjusted, that you can do something like find Lisbeth while hiding somewhere on the grounds, just by smell. That may be the maximum extent you can reach, at least without mutating any more.

Getting better with your ears though, isn't a hard task and you've been making definite progress.

As for Jane, you're not sure but you don't think so since it seems she's been banned for some amount of time from anything like magic duels, due to what she did to Lisbeth.

At any rate you return to the house with Lisbeth, and have a little while before dinner.

>Anything you want to accomplish till then, or do during dinner, or after?

Otherwise can move on to tomorrow.
>>
>>620618
We can move into tomorrow but can we do free study?

>>

Oh sure, yeah. Your free time is up to you, to do whatever you want.
>>
>>620618
Also are there like tourneys or competition between magic schools?
>>620643
Ok then tomorrow at the library we get books on the magic level above basic.
>>
>>620643
Oh and did our bow instructor teach us basic bow firing?
So we can shoot a bow.
>>
>>620643
Tomorrow during our free time we need to ask Lisbeth to summon her Guardian to the school, we need to convince him to let us adopt her

That's my short term goal right now
>>
>>620741
Lisbeth doesn't have a guardian.
Though that does raise the question of her parents.
Where are they?
>>
>>620569
>>620756
Yes she does m8
>>
>>620784
Oh I thought I read otherwise.

Ok then.
Shame we can't adopt.
Maybe we can convince them.

I wonder how they're related to Lisbeth.
>>
>>620654
>Also are there like tourneys or competition between magic schools?

Not in Almace since there's only one school.

As for getting more advanced books, that's pretty specifically against what the school prohibits, if you get caught going above your accepted level then you could face trouble.

>>620673
You only got the bow instructor yesterday, and haven't left the school since, so no.

>>620756
She's an orphan, her parents are dead or gone. She does have a technical guardian though, someone who's responsible for her until she's of a legal age. As part of the requirement of the program she was basically assigned one, someone generous enough to accept guardianship status over her.

>>620796
They probably aren't related to her, just some generous noble or well-off person who accepted the responsibility. They may never have even seen her, it's just an official thing.

>So your plan for tomorrow after classes is...?
>>
>>620802
Well let's head off to our bow instructor.
Do some free study magic and deepen our understanding.
(Can we advance if we prove ourselves skilled enough) also what level are they training us at basic?

And get new dolls for lisbeth again. Nice dolls
>>
>>620824
This, the fanciest dolls we can afford
>>
>>620802
Tomorrow we'll ask Lisbeth to summon her Guardian so we can convince him and keep studying
>>
>>620829
Though I gotta say I feel bad for the individual talents

>Training for months to get a spell down
>We do it in a day or so.
>>
>>620824
You can do that after tomorrow's school day. In the meantime when you can, you continue to properly study magic. And yes, after the first week there will be an evaluation in each course which will determine where you should be properly placed.

>>620845
It wouldn't be up to her, but the school. You can ask the school to contact her guardian, and then maybe they'll consider showing up.

---

So unless you had something particular in mind in the days till, you could skip ahead a few days. If you keep to your schedule of just going to class, studying, and occasional bow practice.
>>
>>621082
Then let's ask Nera to contact her Guardian and keep doing our routine while we wait for him to show up
>>
>>621082
Maybe creatures have magic strength which dictates how much of a push they can exert on mana and use it
Which would explain our mad power and skill.

We can push more weight.
>>621118
This works
>>
>>621148
>>621118
So you ask Nera to contact Lisbeth's guardian, while you finish out the week. By the end, you're evaluated and pass the basic requirements for everything except math and classical studies. All your other courses though, including magic, you go up a grade.

While you're still waiting on word from Lisbeth's guardian though, you do get return letters from those you wrote, to the Marquis and Astrea in Rea, Astrea's father in Alder, and your parents.

The Marquis isn't interested in funding a potions shop, however he is willing to fund moving your silk business to Rea in order to speed up the process and profits. Astrea and her father meanwhile, by you calling your favor, are willing to support your side against that of your former mistress. Lastly your parents wish you well, but still are against your magical pursuits, and as always tell you not to completely write off on settling down.

It's also come the class recess for a few days, Sunday and Monday.

>What do you do?
>>
>>621187
Ok let's hire out a courier to take a message and read it to avor.

Have him tell avor that he can move the silk shop to Rea.

Maybe now Arachne will be somewhat less disappointed.

Also how often do they hold evaluations?
Also by up a grade does that mean we get trainee magic instead of basic magic now?
Nice.

Well we should hang out on school grounds with our roommates and Lisbeth.

Continue archery practice and study our new trainee level magic in our free time as well.

And ask lisbeth how she did on the evaluation.
>>
>>621243
Also check up on Aea.
And try to have the store put in our name.

We need to start setting up a brand.
>>
>>621243
Well it was actually Julien who was acting courier, and brought you the mail. He'll be taking it back with him, unless you specifically want someone else.

The evaluation is held once, for new students to judge their skills and see how they should be placed. Examinations happen once a year to determine if the student's skills have sufficiently advanced them to be ready for the next grade.

And yes, since you moved up a grade you will now be taught common-level magic, as well as being permitted to study and perform that level of magic on your own.

Most of the time you hang out around the school and with your roommates, and Lisbeth when you can find the chance. She dearly thanks you when you give her the dolls, and now hugs you as her way of saying hello when you meet. Her evaluation when she joined put her in the basic level for everything, and she's been through two examinations since then but hasn't progressed up a grade. This makes sense though, since if she was an orphan and a peasant before she came to the school, her education level would have been very low.

>>621277
When you get the chance you go see Aea, who is annoyed with you being gone so long, and says she can't match the demand for the potions she makes with the components from your body you gave her last time. She's made more than enough money to be able to support herself now, and another couple of months she'll probably be able to buy the building outright. Otherwise she wants to know if you need anything? In your absence she's been using the urchin boy you hired for busy work, and has found him quite useful and worth the money.

As for naming the store yourself, several other players were against such a decion before, so you might want to reconsider.
>>
>>621362
Ok give Aea another stock
Saliva
Have her cut our hair back down to the same length as before if it's grown at all
And nails again.

And yes have Julien deliver that message to Avor so he can move to Rea.

And good thing that urchin kid is paying for himself.

I think he doesn't care as long as he gets paid.
>>
>>621423
We need a spell that makes hair grow.

We could use that.
>>
>>621423
Well it's only been a week, spitting for her works fine but unless you resort to body hair, you haven't any to give her. Nails aren't really much either.

Julien though accepts the letter and will deliver it, and help out if he can. As for the street kid, she says he does the work and doesn't complain so that's all she can ask for.
>>
>>621461
Any spells for growing hair?
Something that makes ones head grow hair?
>>
>>621469
Not ones that would work on you, since your dragon side will just resist it. You could get potions from her though that could help with that, though she can't really specify just head hair. You're also not sure you want to get into a situation where you're having to take potions, in order to supply her so she can make more potions.
>>
>>621482
Well I guess we will just have to give her saliva daily.

Add that to daily agenda.

Hopefully it should lighten the load somewhat.

Gotta love magic resistance. I can only imagine the hell of when we need a healing.
Either potions or fill in the severely injured part with dragon.

Ok then let's finish our day with some studying and archery practice and hearing training if we still need that.
>>
>>621517
You make a note to stop by each day and spit in a bottle for her basically, and then occasionally hair and nails when you have enough to give.

Otherwise you practice with archery more, then return to the school to study.

---

So moving forward, do you have any sort of immediate plans? Because as usual, if you stick to a routine you can fast forward as much time as you want.
>>
>>621537
Not really.

Jump a year.

Keep up archery and try to git gud as much as possible.

Train hard in common magic.
Send a letter telling Avor to hire a sort of go between when he can so he can send them to talk to other people. Then have him expand business. Have Julien stay there at Rea for a few months to help by evaluating what business has good demand vs supply.

And see if us and our friends can't plan a vacation or something to the seldan empire.

Also find out what the Fae did and research possible hiding places.
>>
>>621593
Well, maybe not that much time. A month at a time though is fair.

As for Avor, with only Arachne, expanding the business isn't really possible since she can only make so much silk.

The other stuff though you can progress through overtime yeah.
>>
>>621605
Keep up the routine until Lisbeth's guardian shows up
>>
>>621605
No I mean buy out other types of businesses.
Like inns and such.

And sure move forward a month or until Lisbeth's guardian shows up.
>>
>>621616
>>621625
I think what I'll do then is resume the next thread after a month has passed, taking into various accounts like >>621593 and stuff when it resumes.

In preparation for that, make a roll to see if you do anything worth note outside of your plans.

In the meantime, I'll try and set up a twitter for this. If you had any other plans you could feel free to post them and figure something out, or if someone wants to take over as another character for everyone to play, or just fanfic it, feel free.
>>

Also I'm not abandoning the thread, just ending the plot. If someone actually does pick it up with some other character, I'll play too lol

Or answer questions, whatever people care for.

Ok so I think this works?

>>
>>622817
Well there is Seran(what I have officially named tan half dragon lady) who is in alri.

Currently she's in a bar drinking heavily and winning arm wrestling matches. And in general trying to not get bored while waiting for this half dragon person to come back.
>>622927

And archive this thread when the new one is made.

Which I assume will be tomorrow.
>>

>>
>>623169
Ok then see you later OP.
>>
>>623195
Well I'll still be monitoring this thread till then, it'll probably still be up.
>>
>>623376
Questions.

>How will Arachne feel about the move to Rea.
>Will the academy treat Lisbeth differently if we adopt her?
>Are there offensive spells and defensive spells in the common magic level?

>Does this world have healing magic?
>>
>>625322
Arachne will probably like it, you know she's been itching to get to a bigger city than Alder.

If you are able to adopt her, the school probably wouldn't treat her differently since she's in the royal program so the crown is paying for her. There could be some issues with that though, you'll have to wait to see.

Offensive and defensive spells are the mainstay of the common magic level, yes. Healing magic is more advanced though, unless it's divine magic, known as blessings. Healing magic is on the basic level of blessings, though that magic is completely separate of the kind you're doing.

As said in the previous thread I believe, there's a few different kinds of "magic" that all exist separate of one another, though at certain levels their functions can overlap.
>>
>>625342
How is contract magic handled at the academy?
Will they help us form a contract with a creature?

And about morning glory.
Will it get stronger as we become more and more draconic?

Would it be possible to form a contract with dragon lady?
I'm not going to do it really I'm just curious.
>>
>>625437
It's treated as any other form of magic, it just isn't part of your current curriculum since it can take a lot of careful consideration if you're not careful. Some of the older students though might have done it. Once you reach that level of teaching, they can help you sure.

It will get stronger not necessarily the more of a dragon you become, but certainly the more magically powerful you are. If you try to remake it the more dragon you are though, it will be a lot easier to make it more powerful.

As for a contract with her, you could but it probably wouldn't be very interesting since you're both dragons in that sense, so there's not much a difference you could do or learn from her. The better option would be to make a contract with something which is very different from you, so you get it's benefits that you may not have.
>>
>>625524
What about magic items?
Will we learn to make items magic like enchanting?

We could use that for our weaponry.
Magic weapons and stuff.
>>
>>625670
Also how high level would enchanting be?
>>
>>625670
That's something you can do whenever, it's just how good at magic you are and how well you understand it, that you can enchant an item. Though there's a difference between a magic item and an enchanted item, that the enchantment can wear off. For an item to be magic it has to be made magically to begin with, which takes the help of someone who actually makes things, like a blacksmith or carpenter.

There's no real level to where you can or can't enchant, you can do it at any level. The higher you are the better it is though.
>>
>>626161
Ok then we can learn that now.

I'll make a note to have Maggie learn that.
>>
>>626161
How much do magic items sell for?
We can expand the potions store and make a deal with a blacksmith to sell magic weaponry.
>>
>>626313
Depends on the item and magic. If you want it to make money with though, you'd probably do better selling utility items rather than weapons. Unless like, you want to try and be the one to arm the military and get that job.
>>
>>626406
Maybe I can go full fantasy and make bags of holding or storage rings.

And I'd be totally up for selling weaponry to the military.
>>
>>626435
That's like a full time commitment though, if you want to try and compete with whomever currently supplies the Almese military. Unless like, you become a magic weapons arms dealer.
>>
>>626450
Would bags of holding or such be possible?

I think those would sell well.
>>
>>626492
Something that violates physics so hard would be difficult, but possible. The larger the container though the easier to perform it with.
>>
>>626522
Then fuck physics.
Backpacks and satchels that can hold months of supplies and large crates that can hold lots of stuff will sell well.
And I assume we're one of the few mages with enough raw power to do it?

I want a monopoly on it.
>>
>>626522
>>626492
Giving it some thought, I think the sensible way it would play out is that rather than creating some extra-dimensional space, the bag or container would have at it's entrance a portal, which leads to someplace else meant for storing things.

Like a chest, which holds a portal to a bank storage room you paid for, or a bag which holds a portal to your house's basement.

>>626539
If you magic weave you can do whatever the hell you want.
>>
>>626551
>A bag that teleports you to your house.

We could offer to set up teleportation infrastructure in the kingdom in exchange for our freedom and protection
>>
>>626608
But then that bag would be one use. You teleport through it and the bag gets left behind.

A teleportation method via doorways or something could be possible, but would be hard to set up and hard to maintain. Also it could attract the attention of things between the spaces.
>>
>>626622
>Also it could attract the attention of things between the spaces.

>Inb4 Lovecraftian horrors overrun Almace.

Well at least we can use it to store money without having to deliver carts of the stuff.

Can we make magic telephones or something?

Like glass orbs that let you communicate with someone you know?

Transmutation?
>>
>>626701
Isn't that alchemy based?
>>
>>626712
>Implying we're limited to conventional human logic

don't forget about our dragon privilege anon.

Besides a magic that let's us turn the material in one hand into the material in the other hand.

We'll have to be careful not to crash the economy.
>>
>>626663
Lovecraftian horrors already exist in the world. If you started messing around with portals and inter dimensional activity, you could attract their attention but you could just as easily attract the attention of something else.

That's what Trespassers are, as said back in the first thread I think, when choosing your possible ancestry. Something which isn't native of this world or dimension, came to it, and wanted sum fuk.

The seeing orbs thing though is something that already exists, yeah, so you could do that. Magic telephones are less advanced than that, so that's also possible.

>>626685
You wouldn't be the only magic person trying to do things like this, and for money. But it's certainly a possibility.

>>626701
>>626712
The alchemy form would be like Aea turning lead into gold, two things which are already similar, using a brew or substance she made.

With magic weaving you're not bounded by a limitation, like you could turn water into a mouse, as just one example.
>>
>>626735
We could turn water into wine.

We would have to be careful not to crash the economy.

I swear I feel like money is starting to lose it's value.

It would make a nice decoration though.
>>
>>626735
>Water into a mouse

U fookin wot m8

Can we make a sentient being out of any material?
>>
>>626780
Making a human out of dirt.

Next we learn to walk on water
>>
Also

Can I get banned for posting some below average smut?
>>
>>626780
Yeah I realized after the fact that it goes against a rule I made in an earlier thread, that altering living things requires a different kind of magic.

So correct that, turn water into a chair, as an example.

>>626757
Different countries are going to have different ways of preventing that. You have to realize that you wouldn't be the only person with magic powers who thought "How can I get rich quick?!"
>>
>>626792
Technically but I don't think mod monitoring is that heavy, especially not a thread in autosage.

If you're worried, just put it in a pastebin or something and link it.
>>
>>626797
We're not turning it directly into gold that's retarded.

Maybe make quality wine out of water.
>>
>>626797
Are we going to learn that in school? Or do we need to find another teacher outside of the school
>>
>>626814
No duh but unless you trail blaze some new untapped market, there's going to be things in place to prevent you doing too much.

Like you don't think proper winemakers aren't going to flip when you start competing with the magically?
>>
>>626819
That's a detail specific to magic weaving, no one else in the school can do that, so it wouldn't be taught to you. The school would be hugely grateful if after completing your studies, you stayed on to become a teacher and teach it yourself, for example.
>>
>>626829
How would we teach stuff we magic weave.
We don't go through any specific process when we use the spells we make. We just do them don't we?
>>
>>626829
I meant that as in what type of magic lets us do this >>626797

The whole altering living things Magic

Is that necromancy or?
>>
>>626838
Well teach in this sense means like, teach it conceptually. No other students or staff would be able to do it, unless they were descended from something on the same magic level as a dragon, but for magical study and understanding purposes, they'd love it if you became a teacher on the theoretical nature and concepts of magic weaving.

Like, you give lectures, maybe examples, compile writings and stuff, for the academic knowledge purposes, rather than the practical teaching/learning use purposes.

>>626841
Altering living things is blood magic, highly forbidden. That's the sort where you can steal someone's identity or turn into an animal yourself, steal their knowledge and life force and other horrible things like that.

There's a not-forbidden though still not socially accepted form that relates only to plants, though.

>Blood Magic
>Highly Forbidden

I just added another short term goal to my list

Can we make Sentient beings out of blood with that? And is there necromancy in this world?
>>
>>626853
Well of we ever do have such a class I can understand the first rhetorical question out of our mouth.

>Can magic understand intent.

They may be thinking of magic as math or energy with no thought feeling or ability to react.

Magic Weaving proves that's untrue.

We should talk to some of the teachers about it
>>
>>626874
While all a very interesting thought line, it will probably be very depressing to your teachers, who have been studying magic their whole lives, and still can't hold a candle to what you can do without effort or training, or even understanding.

>>626870
It depends how good you get with it, if you were to pursue it. A master blood witch could create something like a rat from her own blood. A novice blood witch would turn herself into a rat, mate with one and have offspring, all the while speeding along the process with her magic so that it takes a few days, maybe a week at the most.

And yes, there's necromancy. You met a zombie in a past thread, and you could have been descended from an undead.
>>
>>626904
Well that's the thing.
Maybe you could think of magic as a alternate plane or some such.

They have a weak connection to it while magic entities and those with it's blood have a stronger connection. In fact a dragons presence in that plane might be as strong as their presence in this plane. Which could explain the high affinity and ability to manipulate mana and make spells.

Though that raises the question of how that connection is established.
>>
>>626904
Is necromancy banned too? Or Is there a good and bad necromancy like blood magic
>>
>>626919
"Magic" is aether, which trickles down from heaven, basically the energy the gods of various religions used to create the world and shape it.

Some people by fate, luck, or some anomaly of the universe, are tuned to the magic falling around and on them. Some beings and creatures are born with the magic already in them.

In your case, dragons are the ultimate example of greed, so soak up all the magic they can like sponges. Few if any entities known to exist, can match them in magic.

Only Trespassers exist outside of the convention of aether, so don't follow the same rules. Either they have some different kind of "magic" equivalent from another source, or "magic" doesn't affect them.

>>626935
It depends on the culture and society. Necromancy is generally not tolerated, but not universally reviled like blood magic is. There are places you could go where necromancy is accepted, and even in places where it isn't, necromancers may still find lives and use of their skills. Like in situations of disease or plague outbreaks, a necromancer would be a great help to have around in dealing with the dead.
>>
>>626956
Ok so you can think of it like every normal human having a thick shell that blocks out magic.

Individual talents aren't blocked off and through effort can manipulate it.

And people of our level just draw high amounts of it to us. And because we draw so much into us we gain the ability to control it more freely.

So because we're mana sponges we get the ability to manipulate easily with very little effort.

I can already taste the salty tears of some wizards out there.

Would some mages be displeased if they knew how easy it was and that we can make up spells.
>>
>>626982
>So because we're mana sponges we get the ability to manipulate easily with very little effort.

Pretty much, yeah. You're approaching the level of aptitude that a demi-god would have, basically the closest you can get without actually being a god.

>Would some mages be displeased if they knew how easy it was and that we can make up spells.

More than displeased, some might be angered or even want you dead, or at least held in captivity for study and harvesting of magical components.

Why do they have to be so salty though?

And also with our magic power and advanced senses what are our chances of convincing the kobolds that imprisoned us that we're half dragon?
Like with a show of force or something?
Just take them over?
>>627021
Yeah I'd like to avoid the salt train.
>>
>>627031
It should be obvious why they're salty, you happened to be born better than they could ever hope to be. Not everyone will be salty, but some will be. Most people will just be disgusted, afraid, and hateful of you being a half-breed.

For kobolds, they'd be able to smell it on you to a point, and would submit. Unless you mean specifically the kobolds Avor was part of, they're already serving a dragon.
>>
>>627045
Gotta remember to visit then.
Visiting our kind is fun.
They seem nice.
But that's definitely because we're half dragon and have the potential to become a full dragon.
>>
>>627070
>They seem nice.

They enslaved you and stripped you naked, and made you cook and clean, and set a wolf on you as punishment, and probably would have taken you back to their dragon as an offering.
>>
>>627093
I mean dragons to us.
Not the kobolds.
If they didn't have a dragon as a leader already I would have had them submit to us or die

The dragons seem to like us though.
>>
>>627106
You've only met one and she thinks you're like a cute little pet trying to pretend to be a dragon, not a threat or challenge in any possible measure.
>>
>>627114
I'm pretty sure that's better than her opinion of most(all) humans.

Because you can like a pet
And you'd prefer not to crush one.
Ants on the other hand...
>>
>>627131
To be fair though, the humans give her a decent place to live and shower her with (to her belief) adoration and tribute. In her old age that's quite a nice setup.

You though could one day be a threat to her. That's why she always plays games with you and teases you.
>>
>>627148
>A threat to her
She's wonderful company why would we get rid of her.

>To be fair though, the humans give her a decent place to live and shower her with (to her belief) adoration and tribute.

That's so sad. She doesn't realize they consider her a rare exotic animal that's entertaining to watch.
I think I shed a tear.

They've domesticated her in a way basically.
>>
>>627164
>She's wonderful company why would we get rid of her.

That's how dragons are.

As for her arrangement, even if she was aware of the truth, she might be upset but probably not care all that much since again, in her age, a safe place to live and free food and stuff is a good deal. That's why she was fine with you living with her, figuring with the both of you, the crown would be inclined to get even better facilities for you two. Like an enclosed park or something.

To her, that's worth the potential risk of keeping two female dragons on display.
>>
>>627183
Well we aren't going full dragon yet.

We still have to travel to the new world.
And see lot's of things.
And become a hero.
>>
>>627183
OP I for some reason doubt that the spell we used to make Morning Glory isn't a spell for making a bow but a spell that let's us turn aether into physical objects.

Can we change our bow intake a knife? Or a short sword? Or a shield?
>>
>>627418
You can create those things, but it would be different from creating a bow or changing it into them. You'd have to have a spell for each thing you make, be it a bow, a shield, or a castle.
>>
>>627449
Can we make a spell for materializing the aether as objects to get around that?

Or do we need a spell for each and every thing?
>>
>>627459
You could make a spell which conjures aether into a solid form, and then a separate spell which shapes it.

This would be very inefficient and difficult at your current magical power level though. Imagining it and then summoning it complete is easier.

>>
>>627819
Or you go deep underground and find a control panel, and fly the planet around space.
>>
>>627830
Guess we'll have to compensate for not picking that stuff by getting really creative with magic weave.

Anyways I'm going to sleep.

And think about implosion magic.
>>
>>627830
Can we make magic to alter the flow of time?

Or mess with gravity?
>>
>>629264
Definitely though anyone with high enough magic can do that, but you could still try at where you're at.

A master level mage of even the individually gifted sort, can stop time.
>>
>>629285
What about a spell to remotely disassemble things at the atomic level?

I doubt that's been done before.
>>
>>629296
That's not only beyond your understanding, but also beyond your mental capacity or perception. Messing with the literal fabric of reality is the province of the gods, possibly demigods, but nothing lower than that.

Maybe if you somehow survived for that long, and had an atomic microscope, then you could perceive and influence things on that level.

Basically your brain isn't complex enough to handle processing at that level.
>>
>>629308
So say we were to make a spell and magic items to help us perceive and help process all this.

It'd be possible?

Sort of like a magic program or computer?
>>
>>629323
If you found a way to do that, then it may be possible yes, though quite dangerous. Not only because experimenting with atoms and molecules like that, but also because it would draw the ire of gods or at least lesser gods.

Unless of course you wrested divinity from one and so became a god yourself. Then that would be normal pretty much.
>>
>>629333
>Wrested divinity
Ok scratch every other plan I have how the fuck do we do this
>>
>>629340
Probably the easiest way would be to partner with a god (like becoming the pet of one, or even spouse), and become a paired, dual deity. For a lesser god though you could possibly steal their divinity through any number of ways, like through trade or trickery, theft or force, or even violence.

At any rate you'd have to be incredibly careful, clever, and probably lucky too. And if you didn't cultivate your divinity with faith, it wouldn't be worth much anyway, and you'd also be putting a huge target on yourself either way. The hugest target possible really.
>>
>>629356
Trade a god for their divinity?

What the hell would they want?

The best I can think of is the god of death so he can finally get a break.

Though I'm up for marrying a god.
>>
>>629356
Do you think the god of power or luck would be interested in marrying us?
>>
>>629367
>What the hell would they want?

That's the big question really. It's something that's possible, but might not actually be attainable. Though you have to imagine that there are some things even a god would trade for.

Maybe they're just tired of being a god?

>>629371
Maybe if you made marriage to yourself attractive enough of an option.

Though you should look to the options that I said as things to focus on, or the only possible options. As I said, if you're clever and careful enough, you could do it by any way really. The ones I said are probably just the easiest.
>>
>>629383
>Maybe they're tired of being a god.
So can we communicate with them?
And how would we do that?

Also I guess we could ask if Death is tired of this shit and wants to pass it on.

That job has to get boring eventually.
>>
>>629387
Sure you can, anyone can. How you ask? By praying of course!

That'll have results you might expect, but the lesser gods have an actual physical presence and can be interacted with normally, if you can find them.
>>
>>629448
Well gods basically spew aether don't they?

Then can't we enchant an item to search for the highest density of aether?

Also you basically mean when we pray we don't hear anything back at all. Seems legit.

And they can hear prayers right?

Then can't we use that to strike a deal with death?
>>
>>629459
Well imagine it like, all aether comes from the divine source, which is like a big dinner table at which all the gods sit. The scraps that fall off the table or they drop (or the rare few secretly hide to give to mortals under the table like treats to begging dogs) are what comes to the rest of the world.

You could probably create some sort of magical dowsing rod though, yes. It might not work if you use it though since it will just point to you.

As for prayers, it's not that you won't hear anything back, but they won't respond that way. If they do respond at all, it'll be through unclear signs or mysterious ways. Like real life!

As for striking some sort of deal, that's assuming there's just one death god who reigns on over all.
>>
>>629501
Ok then deceit it is.

So either strike a deal with the god of power for their divinity.
Or
Gonna have to find a way to lock off an area from the aether then trap a god in it.
Then slay them.

This will be annoying.
>>
>>629518
I mean these things are technically possible, but they wouldn't go unnoticed.

Again, there are those who would love it if some ambitious mortal tried to usurp a god and managed to do so. It's like a free divinity for them to take, from you.

Can we magic weave
"A projectile spell that must always hit"
Can we use that and get a projectile spell that tracks?
>>
>>630081
You could create a homing spell but not one that is guaranteed to hit.
>>
>>630104
What about a spell to reverse bodily aging?
>>
>>630133
Not possible with the kind of magic you're studying.
>>
>>630139
Can we make a spell for it though?

A spell to halt or slow the decay of something should do well.
>>
>>630146
Maybe but it would be beyond advanced and still probably not what you have in mind.

Stopping ageing or trying to prevent death, not even demigods can do.
>>
>>629340
Anon stop, this is too risky, what if we fuck up?

Lets not risk everything we've worked for
>>
>>630166
What?
I'm just curious as to what magic weave can and can't do.

I'm down for inventing magic electron microscope and magic computer bracelets.

You definitely don't want to be the dragon that eats a lesser god, loves the taste and power and becomes greedy, then goes on eating the rest of them all the way up to *the* God and even the aether source itself.

>And then gods and magic sources of other dimensions
>>
>>630177
That whole thing about becoming a god, that shits dangerous work
>>
>>630183
Now I wonder what gods taste like...
And the aether source sounds delicious.

So you said something about the magic and gods of other worlds?

We'll also get a chance to eat them if we do it intelligently right?

And when we eat the aether source does it still function in us?
Can we still use magic?
>>
>>630245
Probably so, though you'd be playing by completely different rules in those other dimensions.

Assuming you ate the aether source, it continue to function within you, and you'd basically become the containment for all magic in the setting, your choice if you shared any.
>>
>>630260
Then we can basically become a god empress.

Sounds like a reasonable goal.

Would our children be demigods?
>>
>>630281
If you were to reach that level of power, no your children would be gods in their own right, even if for whatever nonsensical reason the chosen other parent was mortal.

Of course it will never happen.
>>
>>630310
I bet the Aether source tastes like warm honey.
Maybe the God's will taste like wine.
