Hello again fellow creators and questers. It's been a while since I've had the time to do this, but finally I have a period of time to run another EvoGame series. The goal of this game/quest series is to see how far the evolution of these critters go, and to make a thriving ecosystem of creatures and aberrations.

As GM, I'll do my best to actively work on phylogeny charts to track the evolutions, and also make random events for the world to drive evolution down new paths. Since I've done this a few times now, and taken the time to observe/lurk on other EvoGames, I've picked up a few new tricks to keep everything organized and streamline too.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.
• Details indicating what the generation of your species is important. Please indicate. (Base Organisms are Generation 0)
• Details regarding a creatures size or name aren't necessary, but are encouraged.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything incredibly silly or outlandish will not be considered a canon species 95% of the time.

Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic in biological standards.
• Everyday I'll add an update Phylogeny Chart to track changes. These take awhile, so please be patient.
• Every 12-24 hours I'll be rolling for a Random World Event.
• Extinction Events will have a chance of occurring once more, and likely with little warning. Be ready for life to adapt.

This is 1 of 2 Phylogeny Charts I have recently made for life in up to the peak of the Early Autumignis Era. The world will throughout this thread transition into the Mid Autumignis Era. Info Dump for each Region's Climate Changes.

--Recent World Changes--
During the Early Autumignis Era, the world has seen a revision of the ocean currents in response to the changing positions of landmasses and braffberg colonies around the world. This caused the climates of the world to begin shifting in the inland habitats of Essari, with new and old climates expanding to new regions around the world.

Additionally, as the Braffberg Colonies continue to evolve individually, the colonies begin to experience a gradual form of speciation. Styrax Colony becomes entirely airborne, and Leviathan Colony develops a primitive synapse system.

--Regional Changes on Essari--
Region 1: The region has experienced a great change in its weather patterns, with wet weather systems being pushed away from Southwestern land of Brouldia, allowing the deserts to expand further on the continent. Life in the baking southwest Brouldia has diversified and adapted to its new habitat with cactus-like plants evolve to retain water, while animals become more resilient to the sun's heat, or become nocturnal. Jobani stays somewhat the same, with the Hawis Plains become lusher due to an increase in rain, while the forests in the west expands further, which have become swiftly infested by a specialized species of Mulophytes that have adapted to eating piles of rotting trees here, and throughout the Region. Moralve becomes temperate in a similar vein to Sujardin's climate. The southern portion of Moralve begins to see snowfall, which wipes out most plants that aren't already hardy to colder climates. The plants grow back in the warmer seasons, but plants will need to adapt to survive the colder seasons in Moralve. Lastly, there are the Shatturne Islands, that continue their westward journey, only to have abruptly stopped. Recently, large swathes of hydrothermal vents that form trails of chimneys that stretch for miles, marking the movement of the island over the years. The dormant volcanoes of the island have also recently surged back to life, with an increase in volcanic activity in between the island cluster, with tons of magma belching into the ocean.

Region 2: The region has stayed almost entirely the same, climate wise; and this is in part because of the neighboring Pisces Braffberg Colony. The Pisces Braffberg Colony now feeds the coasts of Sujardin with warm waters that is cycled between the twin colonies. Sujardin's Frondly Forest has dominated the Northern portion of the continent, now experience rain showers at least 1-2 times a day on average. It is here where the Helmeted Quadruped Grabraf, living amongst the trees. In the southern plains of Sujardin, the Dancing and Thinking Grabrafs roam the lands amongst the new Discolodites and the Red Gemini Amplifer Spires. The plains are filled with a cacophony of humming and chirps from the vocal life of the continent. The Denui Island pushes further Southeast, following Sujardin's path, allowing for snow cover, and occasional glaciers to form on the island. The walls of ice freeze out plant life in the southern range of the Denui Island, while exposing pools of magma that now creates warm pockets amongst the glacial cold. The Southern Ice Cap also creeps northward, with it cold influence impacting Voltan Isles with a winters where the entirety of the islands are enveloped in snow.

>The brafberg colonies evolve further
The brafberg layer has responded to an ever increasing presence of static lignin on the surface of the colonies. IT has evolved enzymes that can break down the complex stucture of lignin, and digest it.
This reduces the clutter on the surface of the island, and opens up a new food source that is becoming increasingly common.

Grizzly Tripods are a more recent adaptation from the Cotton tail tripod. They are arguably one of the dumbest, and most hostile of the tripod species. Carnivores at a glance, but in fact opportunistic omnivores, the Grizzly Tripods will eat just about anything, and store surplus nutrients in a hump on their back.

Grizzlies are not social creatures, and only tolerate their own kind for mating.

This rich nutrient deposit makes them a target for smaller packs of predators.

Region 3: Panoram pushes southward further chasing after Brouldia and Moralve in their retreat from the behemoth landmass. Almost all of the continent is exposed to the large tropical weather systems of the regions, including Hurricanes that are far more intense than storms seen on Earth. With almost 3/4ths of Panoram covered in trees, there is an explosion of available oxygen in the world, 40% more than what is seen on Planet Earth today. This makes the region prone to firestorms sparked by nearly any stray lightning strike. Fortunately due to the area being so wet, the storms only burn a handful of acres at a time. Most of these acres are replaced in mere months by the plant population. Accompanying Panoram is the Leviathan Braffberg Colony that is found in the Eastern Coast of Panoram. The Leviathan Colony has recently begun developing a primitive nervous system for relaying messages across the colony about prey and dangers. Life atop the Braffberg look mostly identical to life in Panoram only with the addition of the Leviathan Grabrafs that have learned to live on the living island. Nihiloram has stay relatively the same moving eastward, and soon to border into Arctic Circle, causing the climate on the landmass to be very Tundra-like. Elsewhere, the Bebin Isles nudge southward following the larger Panoram continent. Recently, pockets of forest have begun forming on the southern fringes of these islands that have grown hardy to the colder and drier environment in comparison to Panoram.

Region 4: Foltania move Westward expanding the corridor of warm water currents that flow around the landmass. This has allowed for more wet weather to return to Western reaches of the continent. This change in the currents has also dried on more land along the northern coast, and the southeastern peninsula of the landmass. The increase in oxygen in the atmosphere impacts Foltania far worse than Panoram, due to it drier inland climate. The storms that do make it inland, often set ablaze to miles of grassland and forest as a result on a single lightning strike. Life will learn to adapt to these sudden firestorms that engulf the land so suddenly. Meanwhile out by the Torray Isles, life in the crystalline Torrine Chain begins to finally reflect on the land, with fields of Ruby and Azure Grass being visible from space. The islands are now dominated by populations of Gemini Broulder Trees and Discolodites that wander the land, Southward, the now named Suomalainen Islands begin to see a surge in organisms that specialize to life on each little island. Lastly, eastward in the Styrax Braffberg Floatila rises from the ocean with its clouds Bubble Algea it cares for. The colony now hovers about 100 metres above the ocean surface, fishing into the ocean with its long tendrils. During this time, the Braffberg also acquire several thousand clusters of Broulder Crystals. Unhindered by ocean currents, it continues on its slow trek towards the Torray Isles.

The Redthroats have continued to adapt to their home region, and can be found on both Panoram and the Leviathan Colony, though the leviathan sub species is slightly smaller, it is virtually identical.

They are highly adept earth movers, and will utilize pitfalls, rock/ mud slides, and coordination in pack hunts to herd and bring down larger and more dangerous game.

There has been a predisposition towards intelligence in their mating partners, leading to more abstract thought and planning in their mating displays and offerings. Of note is the occasional partnering between Redthroat and Nomad tripod hunting troops. Redthroats can mimic the calls and body language of the Nomads well enough to indicate basic communication such as play, threat, or warning.

At this time the redthroats display an aversion or failure to understand tool use, resulting in earthen works entirely crated using their own bodies, a mate with the most clever and sizeable mound will often attract the best partners.

The Nomads have had to overcome an endless change in environment, from desert to tundra, wetlands to floating braffbergs.

Shorter, stockier bodies are more energy efficient if less glamorous. Neither slow nor fast, tall nor short, strong nor weak, they have traded glamor for endurance. Sensory stalks have improved and grant a near equivalent to sight. The Hunters are fairly intelligent and social creatures. They can be found near any large gathering of other social creatures. They will often scavenge food remains from these gatherings, or attempt to engage in play. Nomads will also not hesitate to pick off a straggler from said group as a meal.

Outside of this behavior, they will pursue prey creatures for long distances until the animal eventually needs rest, or collapses from exhaustion. Sticks or bones can be gnawed into crude points or edges to be used as simple tools, often related to the hunt.

>Leviathan colony

More internal changes occur in the Leviathan colony. With the previous introduction of a more powerful network connection between the processing centers (or brains) of the colony, the processing centers needed to adapt to properly process the large quantities of information pouring in from the entire colony.

The processing centers have now started to dramatically shift how they function. They are now becoming more and more capable of processing data as a network, and have developed a sort of network memory storage. With thousands of cores working together in harmony there is a drastic improvement in computing capability.

As it stands now the building computing power of the Leviathan colony is mostly being used to make faster and more accurate calculations of previously computed items (effecient hunting prey, harvesting food, distributing nutrients, cutting off diseased of dead portions, colony movement, etc). This directly links stronger computing power to more stable survival, and so the Leviathan colony is continuing to evolve more efficient network connections, and processing centers.

For generations, the Victori-Ferronoxids and its descendants have dominated Essari with their massive size and armor and powerful weapons, but it came at a cost. Their muscles, although powerful, required high energy in order to lift up its metallic shell, leaving the Victori-Ferronoxids in a neverending quest for more food.

Those that consumed the flesh of Cannonbacks and the Rainetails that resided inside them ate more cooked flesh due to the Cannonback's shells, and as a result found themselves with more energy. With the relatively recent evolution of their claws, they could now find a use for their shells.

Slain Cannonbacks, after being consumed, have their shells carved into to allow several entrances to their smoke chambers. From then on, killed prey rather than being immediately eaten find themselves placed into the smoke chamber. The intense heat inside cooks the meat for several minutes, before it is taken out and consumed. This allows the Victori-Ferronoxids to extract more energy from its prey than otherwise.

The Victori-Ferronoxids have also evolved more advanced stomach enzymes allowing it to break down harder materials such as bone and carapace quicker. This, along with its aforementioned instinctual evolution and its claws that tear flesh into pieces, means that it takes far less time than before to eat and digest.

(also a few threads ago, the scorpion braf evolved heat resistant armor due to the hydra braf so that means it doesnt automatically burn itself attempting to cook meat)

The braffbergs are massive colonies of an animal, whose name I have forgotten but I reckon it starts with "Braf" and their names are just so e know which is which and don't just refer to them as "That big one" or shit like that

Grawlur have developed a series of retractable spikes on their spine both to deter predators and amorous alpha males. They are particularly sharp and may be retracted/unsheathed at will. The lowers ones position in the pack the longer their spikes are.

These spikes developed as Alpha males began to kill the pups of beta/omega females in an attempt to get them to mate with them. This rarely worked as Grawlur have a deep connection to their young and so would strongly oppose a union with the murderer of their kids. As such these spikes developed to make sure that males wouldn't try anyway. This has also led to a behavioural change. where before the alphas rule over their pack of absolute they now only control the pack as long as it is happy with their actions. It is not uncommon for Alpha males to be torn to shreds if they step out of line.

Some Jefferey trees are hit by the winter at the South Moralve, but only those who had irregular sized tree barks are able to withstand it, as the bark protect the glowing algeas that lived in it from the cold. Those who had thicker 'umbrellas' also able to withstand it.

Overtime, the natural selection creates Jefferey trees that managed to survive the varying environtment by having broader treeback, and able protect areas that isnt covered by treebark via a semi transparent membrane that can shelter the algeas from temperature but still allowed them sunlight

While its cousin evolved into more resilient type, the original stem of Yungthugian trees went awry and focus on gettign food and boosting the algeas that lived with it. Their 'umbrella' now stacks to accomodate the algeas as the species slowly weed out those that lived in its trunk, as the development of ligdin (I never spell it right) steer the tree into a new focus.

The brafberfg colonies are clusters of several plants and animals that have a simbiotic relationship, and survive by forming large island like masses.

These islands are capable of supporting entire ecosystems ontop of the colony, though the colony benefits most from these ecosystems.

The colonies marked on the map are those that have grown large enough to be relevant landmasses.

Currently all colonies except Styrax have anchored themselves in the ocean, and feed by hunting schools of fish that consume the bottom layer of the landmass (which is primarily composed of dead or dying cells, so it's a win/win).
However all colonies have the ability to produce helium to fill the bubble cells within themsleves and lift the entire mass into the air. Styrax is currently airborn.

There are a lot more details on the colonies that are really cool, but it would take a long time to explain.

For some Knight Brutails their armour has got thicker and spread along the tail. These plates now partly serve as support for the Brutails internal skeleton as it has grown larger. Repeated conflicts with animals native to Panoram has selected for these traits, making it nigh on impossible to wound the Brutail without having some kind of way of getting in between cracks/seals in the armour.

This Brutail has remained aggressive, charging anything it sees as a threat, even other Brutails. Only during mating season do adult Brutails tolerate each other.

Other Brutails have instead evolved elongated extremities because of a mutation making its bones stronger in relation to their weight (basically hollow with supporting structures). This has allowed the strain that is called Humongous Brutail to grow into extraordinary sizes. However due to this a lot of strain is still put on the Brutail, and it must therefore spend the time when its rests/isn't moving about in the inland bodies of water / wetlands of Panoram. The water supports their weight, allowing them to rejuvenate themselves.

The temperament of these Brutails have become more mild. Like the development of their cousins on Nihiloram, they've started to move around in packs of 10-15 adult individuals.

Well the brafberg colony itself is made out of several simbiotic organisims that are functionally one big organisim. Essentially the brafbergs are living islands.

The ecosystems that the islands support vary as wildly as any two normal islands would vary.

The big difference are the named colonies. These massive super colonies have started to evolve differently from each other, and each may contian certain organisims unique to itself.

The Gemini colony has become more agressive in it's feed techniques and is using oscillating currents to whip it prey with it's tendrils.

The Pisces colony has used anchoring tendrils to connect two large colonies and is re-directing a warm water currentsso that it may live comfortably in colder waters.

The Styrax colony has recently started flying (as all colonies are capable of) and also contains crystal based lifeforms.

The leviathan colony (the largest of all) has started to develop synapse connections between the proccessing centers that control hte colony's function, enabling it to make more complex calculations at faster paces.

as for what creatures, its sort of hard to say. There are a ton who have gotten no attention in a while, but its up to you on what you want to do, and the story you want to tell with the creature. I say fuck it, grab one or more and jump in. Dont be afraid to indicate if your creature interacts with some other creature in some way such as a predator or parasite, or even symbiote if you want. It might spur other players into evolving a response.

Leviathan minor has developed an oversized propulsion system compared to other braffberg colonies, in respect to its small size. These comparativly massive pumpjets and macro cillia are enabling it to actually pick up speed and break free of local currents.

Unlike other braffbergs it's neural network is extremely underdeveloped, but despite that has begun moving on a slight south westward path, homing in on pheromone trails from other braffbergs.

Its possible it may deviate from this path entirely. Right now most likely paths will have it eventually graze the southern tip of Leviathan, collide into Pisces, or make landfall somewhere on the inlet of the sea of skelp.

Regardless, at the moment, Leviathan Minor has gained a large boost in nutrients due to actively moving and filtering the water in its path like great basking shark.

And from the Grawlur of region 3 a new species emerges into Panoram, The Grawjira, pack hunters who are, at their smallest, twice the size of their tiny ancestors. Their forelimbs have grown smaller since they came down from the mountains and lost a finger. These days they act like crab claws, with one large, sickle like claw and one smaller blunter one. losing the support of the front legs meant that they had to take a leaf from the Hawlug's book and move their hind legs closer to the middle of their bodies, the direction of their knees reversing so that they can support their greatly increased weight.

They remain similar to the Grawlur in behavioural aspects, still being territorial pack hunters, but have changed in some respects. Rather than be happy with prey of middling size, they hunt Brutails, almost exclusively. If they're starving they will hunt other forms of prey, but they seem to have a taste for the recently evolved megafauna.

Their hunting method is always the same for these beasts. have a few members of the pack distract them while the rest sneak through their blind spot, then run through and gnash at the legs, leap at the joints, using their sickle claws to prize off plates of armour before ravaging the naked flesh beneath. their increase in size has been supported by the sheer amount of food out of the mountains, and the fact that the ground can almost always hold their increased weight now.

If you want to be safe, just change a few things that you think would be applicable from image alone. You can also probably rename them, but maybe renaming them to something that evoke their characteristic would help everyone to remember which is which..

All these changes in the world finally set some motion for The Floatzols to rise again, I mean, being a floating creautures, they are already on the rise, but you know what I mean. Life is good for Floatzols, seeing how this species are unchanged for so many eras, even if they now are confined to the skreesh-kelp area of Volten Isles.

But, even these arent your cookie-cutter Floatzols. These are omnivorous Floatzols, with a better eyesight and better floating body type, and they hunt outdated, small, puny Mulu-With-Red-Stocking, who are trapped with them in this kelpy prisons for centuries. They still eat sea beries, if they are still around tho, so they arent that evil

Anything sentient living in the waters along the coasts and any species that has possibly been close enough to the Skelpertrio's reach. The Skelpertrio can't be on land permanently, but can stay on dry land for a couple of hours.

In particular it has connected to the Sweetsprints (who are unaffected because of the different biology, but use it for the advantages it gives), and different grabraf species.
It hasn't connected to most Sujardin Broulders, due to how the stingers are spread after victim zero and how tough the broulders exterior is; or most grabby/biting Pouchytails, due to their ability to fly and speedy reactions.

The Bone Skelpers evolve thin crystalline filaments, these are capable of 'hacking' into the Gemini Broulder tubing. This allows them to do a variety of things, such as stealing nutrients, sending false messages, cause or stop crystal growth, force the mountains to reproduce the Skelper's crystal-destroying and pain-causing pheromones, etc.

They also evolve a larger axe-tail, now reinforced by their crystals.

That's what i said. It is however possible for the host to pass stingers on to its offspring by breaking off a growth and jamming it into its offspring. Most creatures probably have less protective defences when they're young. So, if the creature has a hand/mouth that allows it to manipulate objects, and the stinger is within reach it, is possible for it to pass on a stinger.

Seeing however how there's basically no species with thick armour on Sujardin I don't see it as much of an issue.

The Mulu that managed to cling and survive in Region 2 changes overtime. They become agile swimmer, dodging new predators and caught new prey alike. Their scramblous tentacles solidified themselves into two rods ended in two bright red fin, a testament tot heir ancestry. Their antenna become better and able to distinguish more smell, not as good as seeing, but they have been too comfortable with that. They'll eat whatever that moves!

The Steel Rainetail toughens up further, its legs becoming reinforced as well. This allows the Rainetail to get shot out at even higher higher speeds and endure those higher G's.

Braffimat of local to Region 1 were mostly wiped out overtime from the new evolved ecosystem around it. However, a group of migrating Braffimat carried all the way along with Shatturne Island still lived after all these years.

When volcanic activity takes place in the region. The Braffimat turned into Gammat overtime, who had a caked armor made from the material spewed from the volcanic activity, and evetually bigger body to as it continues to absorb nutrients and other beneficial items that also being spewed.

Tools is actually quite useful and these creatures keep using it everyday when able. Their finger become caloused, and stronger and darker because of it. They can handle rougher tools better. Not to mention that their tendencies to grab things but keep dropping them, eventually leads to the natural selection about finger as well. Thankfully, this leads to the more efficient Nomad Tripod with double the amount of the finger that truly matter, which is the thumb! With two thumbs, theres nothing that these things cant handle. Maybe the next gen is the more efficien creatures with THREE thumbs!

As the Malouflora Brouldian was able to live even inland, far away from the ocean by absorbing mist and retaining it during weeks in it's storage compunds, it expanded quite quickly, forming dunes across the Brouldian Desert.
This enviromental change caused two different strains of the plant to take it's place, the Maliflora Brouldian, and the Succulenti Brouldian.
The Maliflora thrived in places where water was avaliable in the air in a regular basis, such as beaches or near the scarce oasis that populated the desert, they replaced the water storage leaves for flowers that had exterior ovaries, which turned into thick rinded fruits when fertilized. Not only are the fruits a new mean for the plant to store glucose and water, but also a great way for them to protect the numerous seeds that resided within them.
The Succulenti Brouldian took a completely opposite path, loosing all "sponge" leaves in favor of several small roots that grew all along the tall stems of the plant, and although that meant a sacrifice in both height and length for the plant, it also expanded it's lifespan by decades and simplified it's reproductive behaviors, as they no longer needed to bloom flowers due to the fact that the rubbery leaves that collected water were capable of turning into a new plant if they fell off their branches. This succulent populates the drier parts of the desert alongside their cactus resembling cousins.

While retaining its camouflage ability, the Skelperido develops sensory hairs and dedicated nostrils. The sensory hairs aids it in its hiding, warning it of potential predators who are stirring up the water. The nostrils allows the Skelperido to weed out Skelpertrio pheromones, thusly making it immune to further tampering from its cusin species. This, however, does not grant protection against the stingers, just the way the Skelpertrios were previously influencing the Skelperidos.

As the Sabretail's prey, the Horned Ferocitail, gets larger and faster the Sabretail adapts. It evolves patterns in its fur, allowing individuals of the pack to more easily identify each other. This allows for larger packs, of up to 30 indivduals in certain cases, and better teamwork in the hunt of Ferocitails.

The Standing-Proud Discolodites have gotten so closely integrated into its host that to see them as two separate species is no longer possible. The Discolodite becoming what could be considered a sentient organ of the swaggin grabraf. It can no longer detach or reproduce itself, instead it reproduces itself through the reproduction of the Grabraf. For a Grabraf to be born with the Discolodite the mother has to have been a host.

This merged strain of Grabraf and Discolodite is called Standing-Proud Grabraf.

As time has passed the leviathan colony has slowly been optimizing the processing power of it's cores, and the speed of it's network connections.
As of now data can spread from one end of leviathan to the opposite end of the colony in under a minute.
This allows the entire colony to dedicate it's processing power to optimizing it's basic living functions (such as prey hunting methods, and the best times to harvest prey to get the largest returns). After processing the final data is stored within the relevant cores so they can operate on the optimized living instructions.
For thousands of years now Leviathan has been running these optimization calculations non-stop for each each individual core, and the system as a whole.

Leviathan's desire for data to optimize it's survival has lead it to focus intensely on it's only major sensory organ. The electo-sense that it normally uses for hunting. Originally it had only focused on electro-sense to tell it when a large enough group of prey appear for it to hunt. Then it began to take careful census of all the creatures thriving beneath it. Observing the number of prey, unique movements patterns, migration patterns, responses to hunting methods, population fluxuation over time, and many more details. All of this data was being used to optimize Leviathan's survival, and in turn the sustainable methods Leviathan implemented yeilded great benefits for the eco-systems that relied in Leviathan. The electro sense organ has become so important to data collection, and thus survival optimization that it's grown stronger and more percise. It can now sense electric fields from much greater distances, and within a certain range it can even tell the shape of an animal. From long ranges Leviathan has learned to differentiate different creatures by their movement patterns. Even more radical is that the electro sense organ has become common on the surface fo the Leviathan colony, surveying the ecosystem above the colony.

Recap; MuloctRattlers are peaceful, herbivorous, herd living creatures that lived in a group of 10-30 Members, and signal one another with the rattle of their tails, which now become forked to help reach out stuff as well.

Whats new in this generation is that now they develop flat mouth that is filled with tiny teeths, perfect for grinding leaves and even young branches. They also develop a better ear to hear the rattling of its kin. There are additional rattlers on their tail which can better differentiate more sound

The Greater Bahawa thrived even more in some region where Gemini colonies had become airborne, as it give them more food and room to roam. They are able to get a bit bigger and develop even more their microorganism hunting technique

Their eyes. The ocean is huge, and dark, but their eyes, become better suited for it. They can see movements of other beast from beyond the curtains of dark water. Through some genetc fault in their brain that handles visions, perception, and even temperature, they even began to be able to see heat signatures. This mistake is further enhanced by natural selection that prefers Greater Bahawas that is more visible to others, but not to its prey. This is what slowly cause Great Bahawas to spot red marks on their body, which is actualy a lumps of cordinated body heart. Enabling them to see each other in darkness of waters.

Earth whales might got Sonar, but these creatures start to develop nightvision.. kind of

The Selective Broulder is a fucking weird creature by the looks of it, but actually it was kind of a walking, land coral formation, which is understandable.

The cleanign tentacles become more agile and a replacement tentacle is always ready to be grown again if the present one is hurt. Their head elongated upward to support this development. Small animals that lived in these region still likes to live in them, and predator rarely attack adult Selectivebroulder, opting to attack younger ones that didnt have enought quite the coral shell yet.

The Grawjira develop a long, rather flexible tail to balance them during movement and also develop wedge-like spikes on the front of their head and the end of their tail to help them pry off the armour plates of their prey.

Their tail is particularly interesting as it takes inspiration from the Muloctrattlers and jackhammers. The spike is attached to a series of muscles that allow it to be moved rapidly in and out of the body. this causes it to be the most efficient of all the Grawjira's methods of removing armour, as it can be jammed into a gap and used to break it off pretty quickly.

The Gemini Colony on Styrax had minimal changes due to their new airborne state. Due the happenstance addition of genes from the Swaggin Grabrafs to the Thinkgen Grabraf line, they now also have the Discolodite Symbiote/Organ. It would appear that at one time a female swaggin grabraf simply couldn't resist the temptations of a musclebound thinkgen.

The Discolodite in its passive state is simply the crystal surrounded eye on the grabraf's stomach. If a threat is identified, the Discolodite quickly grows out of the back of the Thinkgen Grabraf, to defend it.

With these swaggin genes also came the addition of fur on some places of the thinkgen's body.

While the larger colonies such as Leviathan had many cores to work with computations, lesser colonies, most notably Leviathan Minor simply had their Gemini Broulders to rely on for aiding in efficiency. Over time, smaller budding Gemini colonies grew on these braffbergs, and a labyrinth of interconnected tubing filled them. Much like on the Torray Isles, a process of mineralization occurred between the connected juvenile colonies and larger parent ones. This lead to the surface of these smaller braffbergs to be covered in a thin layer of crystal. Thankfully, the crystals are synthetic in nature, replacing the energy the unhindered braffs would've collected. Furthermore, plantlife is rather unhindered too, as it takes little force to break through the crystal. To better move the snow off of its canopy, the Jeffery Tree develops a grooved "umbrella", much like a rain gutter. The snow slides off onto the ground instead of impeding growth.

With so much snow now around the Jefferey Braffious Tree, its "feet" have become larger and hollow. Snow slides off the canopy and lands in the "feet", melting and becoming water. The Tree sucks up this water to hydrate itself, becoming larger and collecting more snow and so on.

The Muloctrattler, being a small, peaceful herbivore, is prone to getting eaten by just about everything. To try and prevent this, it has developed purple spots to signify "danger!".

Unfortunately, not being poisonous, that didn't work out too well. So in addition, the Muloct added purple "eyebrows" to look very angry and not edible. These have landed it the name "Perturbed Muloctrattler". The effectiveness of this recent change has yet to be ascertained.

Rogue nodes are highly unstable, corrupted Gemini braffbergs. Their body has a very high metabolism, enabling outstanding compute power, and movement speed for a braffberg, but an equally high caloric requirement. For a braffberg, they are very small.

Think of it as a terminal disease, but instead of getting weaker, the body improves until it can no longer handle its capacity and simply falls apart due to biological/ mechanical failure.

As the Coral Serpentsnejk's main food source, the Reef Deral, has gotten scarcer, its species must be creative in order to catch prey. The Coral Serpentsnejks around the Shatturne Isles have developed horns with a shape and coloration eerily similar to the prongs of the Gammat also in this area.

Hiding behind a Gammat, the Serpentsnejk uses its camouflage to ambush unsuspecting prey, often by goring it with the very same horns. The "hairs" on the horns match those of the Gammat, but are actually spikes to help with the whole goring thing.

Coloration of the head has also changed to help blend in.

The braffipot. A unique symbiote of the rogue node. Braffipots are braffiforms (component creatures of the braffberg), who serve as an external covering. While capable of photosynthesis, they also posess a maw, sensory system, and manipulator tendrils. These are used both internally and externally throughout the braffberg to assist with rapid rearrangement to achieve improved efficencies.

Braffipots respond to node braffiforms to release a cocktail of pheramones which attract creatures into their fatal embrace, providing another source of food for the colony.

Of note, the braffipot is often left behind on other braffbergs which are ravaged by the rogue nodes.

However, with a volcano rising up in the very north region of this.. region, weather changes, and cause snowstorm to be bit more severe than before. This is reflected by the Jefferey Braffious Tree to support their umbrella with a branch. Not to mention, that only those who can shield their algea symbiote from the weather better is the one that survives, thus, they now generally had thicker tree bark than before.

The Algea survived beneath the cover, as the material used for their umbrella, which is a layers and layers of thin semi transpatent proto-ligdin can help conserve heat, and with the help of genetical selection of internal chambers inside the organisms, they can still get sunlight.

Sweetsprints discovered that their head fronds can easily distract predators, selecting for bigger and brighter ones. Alphas, starting out with the bigger fronds, had an advantage in the arms race and ended up with gigantic blue-and-red patterned fronds to confuse predators.

This led to Beta Sweetsprints developing a different strategy. A Beta's head fronds now produce a warding pheromone in an attempt to dissuade would-be hunters. Luckily, the pheromone also attracts fellow Sweetsprints: the Beta with the strongest scent will get to mate with the Alpha.

All of this leads to a more sedentary lifestyle for Sweetsprints. The heavy fronds make it difficult to run, and with multiple Betas in one area the pheromones usually scare away competitors. Sweetsprints are now prone to making small settlements together.

The multinode serves many functions, hence its name. At its core, it was a pump to help move nutrients to the other braffiforms of the colony. When a braffberg becomes "sick" it releases new genetic material to the surrounding braffiforms via horizontal transfer, and effectively makes the next generation of braffiforms immune to whatever particular ailment there was.

The multinodes in rogue gemeni braffbergs are continuously trying to improve/ expel the source of their agitation, which in this case is their own biology that has become infused with crystalline entities.

The Multinodes constantly sample the biological fluids being pumped through them for new and fascinating genetic segments which they will tailor into genetic "patches" for distribution to the rest of the colony. Snipping, altering, adding, validating, improving.

The most significant issue is that a multinode will accumulate genetic information from things the braffberg has consumed, and begin inserting snippets here and there, both as real time patches to existing braffiforms, and instructions for next generation. (braffiforms reproduce by clonal budding)

Each improvement, or alteration changes the overall behavior of the braffberg, drives it further past its limit, each generation more and more incompatible with the prior until the underlying network simply tears itself apart. This is the mechanism of the rogue gemini node, both its glory, and its destruction.

Some of the Sujardin Brafibushes native to the highlands of Sujardin have found a niche in the wast cavernous system beneath the mountains.

Because of this their trunks have adapted to have long root-like extremities that grow for several meters to find sources of water. Furthermore, the lack of sunlight has been partly compensated by its braffifruits now too carrying the glowing algae.

Some of the quadruped Grabrafs who stumbled upon the caverns of the highlands have flourished in this, for them, new habitat. With no natural predators (sorta), the Grabrafs can simply chill and make echoing hoots and toots.

They share these caverns with the >>626059
Cavernous brafibush, whose fruit they feed on; and the Biting Pouchytails, who spend the daytime in dark places such as the caverns.
The Grabrafs also like their tripod neighbours, when they're not trying to kill them.

As an adaption to walking about in this dark, barren enivornment the grabrafs fingers/toes have got tougher and its eyes have opened up more to take in the light of the brafibushes.

Grizzly Tripods are known for their dumbness and hostileness, which became a problem when the amount of their excretion and the amount of fur in their body didnt creates a very hygienic system.

Many Grizzly Tripods are common to be sick, and this affect their generation who had shrunk abit, and they also begin to show genetic hairloss of disease ridden hair. Thankfully, this usually are in their behinds, near their anus, and thus, the creatures are very common to be found with bare bottoms to impede illness growth. They become more balanced now, with longer appendages that can clean after themselves better.

In the forest a breakthrough has happened. The Quadruped have become "smarter" sort of the level of a dog (this can be compared with its relative grabrafs, who barely have proper brains). Instead of simply restarting their scratching when the old Grabraf dies, they now continue partly from where they left off.

These Grabraf sometimes look down in disgust at their stupid biped brethren. Disgust fueled by one sole thing, they don't have any friends from other species. Pouchytails, their only neighbours in the trees simply ignore/avoid them.

>Leviathan Multinode
As the rouge colonies spread across the world some merge with and "Infect" other colonies. The superlarge colonies quickly recognize these infections, and cut off infected portions from the network, minimizing damage before it has any chance to spread.

Leviathan however, became interested in the new phenomenon. It was data that it processed over and over agian. At first it appeared the phenomenon was entirely negative, cutting off the infection was the only choice. Many calculations and several thousand years later it began to realize that these infected areas may be worh some risk. It quarantined a infection, and began running calculations, then tests, then more calculations, then he infection burnt itself out, then it grabbed a new infected patch the next time a rouge colony smashed into it, more calcuations, more testing, more failures. Over and over and over it repeated this, each time getting more data on the rouge colonies and the multicore.

Eventually after thousands of years and hundreds of thousands of expimental runs, there was a success. The multicore was stablized, and could safely be integrated into Leviathan's network. Leviathan has now gained the power to edit it's own DNA, and even implement the DNA of other species into it's own. Leviathan is careful though. The mutilcore network examines all the available data, and then constructs the most beneficial evolution, then it tests the evolution in small scale runs, if the evolution does not meet expectations it is purged entirely, if it meet expectations then it is given another test run, and then another, and another, and so on until every aspect of the evolution is known. Then it it finally implemented on the large scale.

Over and over the L-mutlinodes experiments with the DNA of the colony, collecting more data and experimenting.

Their first success has been further optimizing the networks and proccessing power of the colony, the time for a message to reach from one end of the colony to the other is now 10 seconds.

Braffberg guy here.

Braffbergs are not one big organism, but one big biomass acting as an organism. Each tendril is made of countless small "Braffimat" type creatures which have specialized to benefit the whole. So chains, yes.

Everything in a braffberg needs to eat, some some braffiforms (generic name for anything in the braffberg that is part of the braffimass...its all very brafftacular) are symbiotic, some are parasitic, but they all make the whole mess work.

In general you have a covering that acts like skin and does photosynthesis, giant tendrils made of many, working in concert.

There are braffimats that simply live as pumping stomachs, moving fluid both nourishing and waste around the colony, and Nodes, which serve to communicate and direct the local cluster of organisms.

So a braffberg is very slow to direct a message, spread it, and eventually stop it.

Newer evolutions are "pump jets" which are just pump organisms filtering the water for food, and slight movement, and smaller tendrils which can help move or grab things, but mostly flail around and eat shit.

As the diet of the Grawrillas change so to does their mouths. their jaws now contain incisors, molars and canines and have developed primitive cheeks, so that food doesn't fly everywhere when feeding. These Braffiforms travel around picking up data until the crystalline growths that served as their ROM render them immobile and they have to take root.

What breaks the story are godlike powers of instant genetic recombination and the like. I think an organism budding a mobile sensory organ that is reabsorbed or can reconnect with the whole and share data as needed is kinda cool.

Though also look at what is already in the game, and consider that as well. I am kinda burnt out and having creative trouble but if you were going to do that, the Gemini braffs are in a good position to have a tribe of the little hooti tooti dudes slaved to their network, periodically doing uplinks to the whole, in some form of ritualistic "communion" that enhances the understanding of the braffberg.

I think each braffberg is unique, and will have a unique response to the world around it, based on its character and personality. "Agents" or eyes, or direct interaction by its own means. Its all a slow process, so the temtation to jump ahead is hard, thats why you need stories to make this more than just an evolutionary arms race at the macro level. Small organisms can get away with that, but its not so easy with larger ones.

side note: one of my favorite evo sessions came from a really simple setting on a muddy flood plane, where crabs battled eachother for supremacy. One species evolved to build greater and greater mud based fortifications, rolling balls of dirt and gravel down the side at their attackers, while the other species evolved to seige and demolish the forts, flinging the balls of dirt right back so they could eat the crabs inside.

Anyways the Wi-fi is based on both the Leviathan neural web and the Noble Skelpertrio stingers with some of the Gemini crystal serving as circuitry.

When the Braffiform roots itself the majority of it's peripheral nervous system is sent underground with it's muscles and the suctioning feet, to spread out and form meat connections to any nodes in the immediate area, while this is happening the internal organs, pheremone stingers and any remaining nervous system components are all reshaped into an antennae at the centre of the Crystal brain. This antennae emits pheromones that the parent colony identifies and reconverts into data that is stored on site.

The Cave Grabrafs continue adapting to their environment. They develop additional protection against the hard surfaces on their bodies and extremities. They've started to expand the caverns downwards, instinctively digging deeper, and incidentally bringing the cavernous brafibush >>626059 along for the ride as they accidentally drop brafifruit all over the place.

In part due to their more durable bodies, these Grabrafs no longer play their old game to settle "disputes". Instead they now wrestle with each other, and in doing so end up rolling around in the cave at high speeds, knocking into walls and other Grabrafs and thus starting even more wrestling.

Instead of scratching pieces of bark, these Grabrafs have due to a lack of abundant plants instead started smear the glowing brafifruits against the cave walls, often times unintentionally ruining the works of the tripods >>626089 . You can now tell were Cave Grabrafs live by not just the hoots and toots coming from inside the caves, but also from all the hooti and tooti that is smeared on the cave walls.

The Electrocerar have remained unchanged for millions of years, but that is not longer the case. The Electrocerar' s side fins have grown longer and now cover the length of their bodies, allowing them to move far faster than before, a necessity, considering that the plants they once sheltered in have gone extinct . The Nomads will often engage in dispute settlement, crashing around the caves and smashing into bushes. Smearing themselves and the walls in glowing pulp. An odd cross over from the Cave Grabafs culture has rubbed off onto them. Grabaf and Tripods can be found socalizing at a better level now, the tripods exist in a somewhat symbiotic relationship with them. that size difference though.

Hey, I'm the guy who made the original flying islands that the brafbergs are based on, and from what I've been told those original flying islands were implemented into the braffbergs (which seems kinda obvious). I know the librarian irl and I only recently got back into the threads. Whenever me and the librarian speak about the brafbergs the thing that tends to come up are some of the features that I had built into the flying islands.
Like the carpet bombing hunting mechanism.
I don't know exactly how much of my flying islands were incorperated into the braffmass, but I'd love to have a discussion about all the features that come from each part of the symbiotic mass.

Amoung the few that have been happening, I started upgrading the "processing centers" that were originally in the flying islands and now a part of the brafimass.
The other thing that has been canon for me and the librarian is the carpet bombing hunting. Your brafimass has tendrils that can grab, and eat food, and anchors that keep the colony in place. But it also has the vines that were a part of the flying bubble algea. These vines are broken into seedpod segments, and filled with hydrogen (originally, at this point it's a bit more potent explosive for depth charge hunting). When the colony's electro sense picked up a good number of prey it would rain these seeds down on them and the explosions/seed shrapnel would wipe them out (and provide a fertile ground for seedlings). At this point the bombs work in concert with the tendrils to kill and then grab and eat. (from conversations between me and the librarian).
Hunting methods have varied over time, but blast fishing is still the primary mechanism to feeding from below.

Their armor become more refined as every crack usually recovered with a lump and stronger than before, resulting in thick padded armors where adult Panzergs-Lords they used them to ram their cousin the predator Toothlords or those donutsteel scorpions.

Upon the sight of predators, Panzergs-Lords herd stays in a defensive line,shoulder-armor to shoulder-armor, with the alpha and the weak in the back. Upon the command of the alpha, they all rush, and tackle and run over any opposing creatures that still stays in their front.

The cave Grabrafs have evolved sharp horns instead on the knobby ones they had previously. This was caused in part by sexual selection, and in part by Grabrafs who were combining the usage of their horns with their hands being capable of digging more efficiently. Being able to dig well means more places for cavernous brafibushes to grow,which in turn means more fruit for the Cave Grabraf.

The Cave Grabraf has undergone a aesthetic change as well, they darker environment selecting for more gray/dark colours, allowing their beaks and hearing thingy to be more noticable in the darkness. They've also developed thicker beards, which natural braid themselves as they grow and Grabrafs get into wrestles. Cave Grabrafs can now be seen greeting* each other by pulling each other in their beards, usually followed by lots of excited hooting and tooting.

*Greeting is here has the same intended (kind of) meaning as a dog smelling another in the butt to say hello.


oh, and they also dislike/ are disinterested in precious gems and metals that they dig up. These, for us, valuables can therefore be found thrown out in large piles next to entrances of cave systems that the Cave Grabrafs live in.

The Quadruped Grabrafs develop hair growths above their eyes. Similarly to eyebrows, these prevent dirt from above coming into its eyes. Though primarily the lady Quadruped Grabrafs consider it really sexy. The ladies don't have the eyebrows, instead looking exactly like the previous generation (16).

Nomads continue to evolve alongside the Cave Grabrafs. The symbiosis is to the extent that the nomads will offer their eye stalks to the comparatively diminutive grabraf for a greeting tug, and in return carefully pull their beard.

Nomads are primarily carnivorous, but their diet is also augmented by minerals and moss scraped from the cave walls. They have become slightly more musclar in the forelimbs to facilitate digging tunnels along with the Grabrafs.

A nomalds lifecycle starts with a pup being no larger than a child sized grabraf, and as they get bigger they leave the caves for a time on a journey, seeking a mate, and a biological wanderlust. Once they reach full adulthood they return to their home caves, though only a portion of their children come with them, the others with the other parent.

Sometimes Cave Grabrafs will accompany their giant friends on a grand adventure, and end up dispersed in new areas of the world.

A new dominant strain of redthroat has emerged due to a sudden resurgence of the Grey tripod species prompting a protracted war of near extinction. The Nomad tripods were not capable enough to ward off the greys who were more aggressive, faster, and bred in larger numbers, leading to a temporary decline in their numbers across region 3.

The Redthroats evolved superior sensory abilities with a greater degree of spatial perception thanks to refined photo receptors in their antenna. This enabled them to develop an unconventional form of simple tool use.

By casting stones or other small objects, they had developed crude ranged weaponry, but their bodies had shrunk in size due to larger members of their species being easy prey.

The Redthroats also lost much of their inflatable neck pouch due to better visual recognition, and a new form of mating combat. Rivals will collect a stones and hurl them at eachother. Smarter members of the species will use sticks, bones, or even semi mummified cadavers as paddles to bat away the incoming missiles and avoid bodily injury. Eventually one of the belligerents will retreat, and the "paddle" quickly dropped afterwards.

While intelligent, it again displays a limitation; A redthroat does not seem to grasp using a tool for environmental manipulation, and will still use its hands, jaws, or body for such tasks.

As the underground saga of Nomad and Grabraf blazes forward, a rather sticky opportunist follows their trail.

Discolodites rarely remained underground, the danger of predators and lack of food sources making it rather stupid to do so. That was until the cave grabrafs began cultivating braffibushes and leaving convenient mineral piles for their consumption. These discolodites feasted on braffifruits and leached whatever minerals they needed from the Cave Grabrafs valuable piles. Over time, these discolodites became rather sticky from the constant diet of braffifruit, causing them to have become covered in debris, often that of the valuable piles. Covered in a "shell" of metal and gems they grew larger, as the added protection from predatation and plentiful food allowed them to.

>Reinforced Amalgadite
Due to the common occurance of a Amalgadite
being immobilized by the weight of its own shell, their legs undergo a series of mineralization, eventually leaving them with an iron-like carapace. This newfound strength allows them to grow larger, leading to the occasional braffibush getting lodged on their back. They don't tend for the bush, as usually they're unaware of its presence. Most die, although occasionally some do survive merely by leeching off of the amalgadite. In addition to the occasional passenger, the amalgadites are now able to dance again... although poorly. Their signature dance, the Ground Pound is just them slamming their bodies onto the ground. The victor of dance competitions is usually the largest amalgadite due to the fact that a ground pound is only as good as it is loud. Commonly, competitions end in a cave in, tragically killing both contenders and bystanders.

Some of the floating braffimass braffiforms will occasionally snap off from the biomass, floating ever higher, and at certain altitudes they will explode. These lonely drifters will often be an isolated part of the braffberg, and cause considerable damage on their way out. The most "tight" of them explode due ever increasing pressure and decreasing surface area. However a rare few are "saggy" at low altitude, and actually survive the ascent to terminal altitude.

They really dont do much up there, other than exist. Moisture collects on them during the night cycle, and is absbored into the skin during the day cycle. They gradually get sunburned due to harsh UV exposure in the upper atmosphere, and this further weeds out a majority of them after a while. A rare few have survived, and every now and then collect enough carbon and water moisture to bud off a progeny. During the budding cycle the Drifter will sink quite low, sometimes all the way down to oceanic levels where it's tendril can absorb new nutrients and moisture.

Drifters will periodically (one a year or so) descend anyway as they become increasingly malnourished and loose float gas retention, eventually reaching near surface. With some luck they will be able to use their feeder tendril to gain nutrition, re inflate, and escape the wretched bonds of this planet for a short time again.

A split forms in the Amalgadite species over mating
>Afromalgadite
The afromalgadite is a rather show amalgadite, covering itself in mud and actually attempting to tend to its braffibushes, occasionally leaving their cave homes to collect sunlight and what little maintenance they can manage. These collections of bushes often look like a rather large afro on top of the amalgadite, leading to available partners seeing them as a larger, more suitable mate. However, they are rather terrible at dancing as they're too busy tending to their bushes to practice.

The metoladite on the other hand, doesn't rely on tricks or showmanship, rather it relies on its skill at ground pounding... which is directly linked to its weight. As a result, the metoladite develops a carapace over its shell, made out of the same iron-like mixture as the one covering its legs. This leads to it looking rather bland, but being exceptionally loud in mating competitions, allowing it to excel where the Afromalgadites cannot.

Some Metoladites spend an inordinate amount of time grooming themselves, chipping, polishing, becoming...perfect.

These sharper looking Metoladites attract mates much better, and will ocasionally team up into dance troupes using their percussion in rythm to really turn it up a notch. Some slamming into the ground, others into eachother for internal accoustics, and some just tapping along.

It sounds...exactly like this.

The sudden slamming display of the metallic Metoladites really ruined the groove of the caves.

A collection semi ferous thin wire like appendages begin to rupture from the hides of the Afromalgadite. This become longer with each generation, but allow for communal behavior. A collection of Afrohendrixmalgadites will hold onto eachother's strings and use their legs to pluck or shake the strings creating vibrations which are translated to their somewhat hollow bodies, generating rather wonderful acoustics. It sounds like this.

Afrohendrixmalgadites select mates based on preforming troupes, and the group that makes most impressive display comes out ahead.

While others were gaining mastery of music and dance those who fell did not perish. No, they simply adapted to a life permanently rooted. Many took on the coloration of the local plant-life to avoid predatation. Their legs gradually degenerated too, becoming more or less highly prehensile roots.

Those mimicking amalgadites in less bush populated caves often had a harder time avoiding predatation, as a result these amalgadites gained a line of defense. A simple series of crystal spikes covering their bodies, often glowing due to the amalgadite's bio luminescence.

Other mimicking amalgadites, in the more bush filled caves of Essari, flourished. These amalgadites often picked up leaves and braffifruit on their long short distance journey to their mates. This worked in their favor, as it made them look more similar to the plants they're trying to mimic.

The Pterrortail evolves the ability to create small discharges of static electricity within its mouth. It's now able to set fire to the methane and gel-substance as it spits. This allows it to shoot the gel for longer distances, the blasting methane acting as an accelerant. The Pterrortail is thus now able to "Breath fire" and a shoot napalm-like gel that sticks to its target, its fire being nearly impossible to extinguish.

The Pterrortail also develops teeth. Primarily this makes it more effective at getting a hold of kelp.

Because of the Pterrortail cooking anything it gets in conflict with, its diet has partly changed. Although it still primarily feeds on kelp and sproutlings, it can now also sometimes hunt and feeds on skyzols, cannonback broulders and their steel rainetails, and finally Nomad Tripods crossing the seas with the Cave Grabrafs on their backs.

It quite often happens that the adventure of Nomad Tripods and their Cave Grabraf friends gets drawn to a tragic close, as they, unable to protect themselves from the predator in the sky, get burned alive. Standing at the coasts around Essari you can sometimes hear the horrified screams of Grabrafs as their life ends in agony and napalm. If they (mostly the tripod) were to survive the encounter it often instead ends with them, within hours or days, dying of their burn-wounds.

The Regal Skelpertrio, not having had to hide in many generations, evolve more flashy colours. These serve the purpose of showing off their status as the kings of region 2, chosen by the will beyond. The higher in the hierarchy, the more golden and red they become. The one pictured is the alpha, the most golden of all of them.

The Skelpertrios also become slightly larger.

To help motion, some open muscles begin to develop so that when goring prey or competitors, they didnt need to swim very fast, but instead flick the horn on their head. The area surrounding that become stronger. The coloration of this creature also become abit duller as the least attractive specimen are actually those who can ambush and hide better in these trembling seas due to volcanic activity. this also influence the evolution as swimming from earthly danger are important, and thus, those who can swim faster in that area wins, THUS, bigger flippers that they move by undulating their membrane when slow, but flip it when rushing

Being very tall, and somehow had mouth beneath their body and their stomach above it, it can be concluded that Landlord Lowrend primary diets are soft sappling trees

Oh, that blue thing are the retractable skin that they use to protect their mouth and anus when not used. Yes, since their mouth is already in the bottom, and many muscles are used to uplift the food to the stomach below. the anus are located centimeters from the mouth to help save space and muslelature

Their antenna get better, and had soft touch that helps differentiate which trees to eat.

With time the Cannonbacks have got bigger, allowing for the carrying of more Steel Rainetails. Their bodies adapting more to the life at sea. Conflicts with creatures such as the pastrami-scorpionbrafs, the pterrortails and the tripods have selected for Cannonbacks whose less well defended parts are situated underneath the water surface, thus letting the water slow down the scorpion's harpoons.

The coloured upper part of the Cannoback has been reinforced, now offering closer to the protection given by its back.

The rainetails and cannonback are now sometimes accompanied by one Skelpertrio per cannonback, and are always carrying stingers. This offers a efficient way of communication between the creatures on the cannonback. In return skelpertrios get to eat their dead and share of the dead enemies.

If there is a skelpertrio on the cannonback, it can survive inside it for a couple of days bde to its wholly covering carapace. It gets oxygen by being attached to the cannonback with one of its tentacles, syphoning it out of its blood.

Not an evolution as much as it is fluff, but Maliflora Brouldian that grow in the beaches are sometimes carried by the waves into the open sea, which eventually make their way into other regions and subregions all over essari. Some of the Amalgamatiadites begin collecting Drifters that descent to feed, this happens completely by accident.

If the Amalgamatiadite is young enough then the Drifter will carry it when it takes off again.

Sometime an Amalgamatiadite will gather quite the collection of Drifters as it flies, along with other airborne creatures.

The Humongous Brutail develops a feather crown. This colourful adornment is used by the Brutail to attract mates.

These Brutails now mate for life with their partners. Couples can often be identified by how they show their affection for each other by entwining their necks.

Bling is the thing among Humongous Brutails. They develop strong pigments in their plates and skin as an additional way to attract potential mates.

As this >>648119 development was taking place, some brutails ended up on Foltania by accidentally ending up on a piece of braffberg, which carried them to the continent.There they've flourished in the Trifolt wetlands.

Due to divergent evolution they've developed different pigments compared to their relatives on Panoram. Due to the lack of deeper bodies of water to support their bodies while they're resting, the Foltanian Humongous Brutails have become smaller.

many braffbergs begin to develop a sort of "carapace" or "skin". This tougher outer layer of braffimass is more resistant to parasites, disease, and exposure to environment. The thicker a skin is, the slower the braffberg grows.

Each braffberg manifests its skin slightly differently despite the general commonality of function between them all.

Leviathan minor for example has a skin that is very waxy, and scalloped, providing less resistance to both the water and wind.

Speaking of Leviathan Minor, the skin it developed grew very rapidly, very thick. This has caused something unique to happen to a braffberg. It partially sunk. well, not entirely, but it is now bobbing dangerously low to the surface of the water. It's entire "landmass" periodically is submarged, becoming something of a coastal swap or flood plane.

Many species have adapted by learning to swim, or climb onto higher plantlife. What life adapts to the ever flooding leviathan minor?

I'm just going to post it anyway.

As their main prey, Pisces Surdural, known know as the Suricin grew larger and stronger over the past several million years, so have the Pisces Bull Tripods.
As rogue braffbergs introduce the tough upper layer trait to Pisces, it became more difficult for these tripods to reach their prey under the surface. Those with hardened exoskeletal claws iirc, don't most tripods have a sort of hybrid skeleton? fare better in this altered environment, ripping into the top of their home braffbergs to reach the dens of surdurals within.

>Leviathan colony
After tens or hundreds of thousands of years the leviathan colony has observed, measured, documented, calculated, and re-calculated everything within it's territory.
It's peak efficiency has brought a unheard of level of stability to the region which it resides, and has benefited both the colony and all creatures in its eco-system.
But leviathan has put something above all of this stablity. It values new data now, and it can no longer attain any more from this area. At least not with it's current equipment.
Slowly, over the course of perhaps a hundred years leviathn prepares itself. It flips the helium production of the colony into overdrive, and slowly increases its buoyancy. It consumes larger portions of food, and stores away the extra energy where it can, etc... And finally after all preperations have been done, Leviathan releases it's anchors, pulls itself free from the sea, and flys for the first time in millenia.

Leviathan has decided to wander the world and record all the data it can, in the hopes that it can further improve upon itself. Using its immense computing power to detect the weather patterns it carefully steers towards new horizons.

The first to be effected by this are those that reside on the back of Leviathan (including grabrafs) they now must adapt to the new altitude and the changes in weather as the colony moves along.

Next effected are those that had lived in the ocean below leviatan. Without it's gentle tendrils molding their lives (as they have come to rely on for the last several millenia) that entire region of ocean will be throw into chaos within hours.

The rest of the world will of course feel the effects of this roaming super colony in a short time. As it stands Leviathan has developed a habit of thethering itself above the forests on the continents and consuming the massive piles of excess lignin, a food source it has found to be incredibly abundant as only brafberg colonies and one other creature have been able to consume it. How it many effect the budding intelligent lifeforms, who see the sun blocked out by a flying landmass, is a up to speculation. Sometimes blocking out the sun for mere days as it passes, sometimes for years as it tethers and feeds on execess lignin. Let them all be thankful that areas with plentiful lignin are not targets for leviathan's hunting mechanisims (no need to hunt when food is already piled high).

We can only wait to see what effects a nomadic leviathan has on the world.

A combination of bubble algae close to land and moss by the shore eventually creates algae sheets, the two plants tightly woven together. These sheets are incredibly thin, meaning the slightest winds can send them flying. When they impact another sheet, rhizoids from the moss entangle one another, attaching one another to their mass.

When these sheets impact dead animals and plants, they use their rhizoids to attach themselves and begin releasing enzymes, breaking down flesh/plant matter into a more easily absorbable form.

Due to their thinness, they can easily slip away from herbivores and have little nutritional value.

Leaves also tend to be in rather massive groups secured to a large object which is rather hard to move. Said large objects can also be in massive groups themselves.
