THE DIVISIONS: http://pastebin.com/xCQZAdqU
THE SHOP: http://pastebin.com/v6xeDRXj
DANON’S THE TEAM: http://pastebin.com/bUU2v0z8

Winona sneezes right into a tissue, shivering as she ducks underneath a blanket. Yes, as it turns outs, rolling around in mud and heavy rain for an hour can result in fevers and colds. Thankfully, after diagnosing every single Tanker, you have concluded that at least nobody has the flu.

The team as a whole has taken shelter in the Tankery HQ, for the rain has not stopped or even let up since yesterday. It appears LGA's luck of good weather has finally run out and now God is punishing the students' hubris by flooding LGA with its rainwater. Thankfully, LGA can't actually flood, at least above deck. You could go on but you've bored way too many people with the details of how an Academyship works before.

With the tank fair over, the foreign crews have gone home, and unfortunately they were just as sick as your team was. However, they were still in high spirits. And even Oryola Kuznetsov (the only foreigner not to get sick for some reason) was able to personally see you away. “Da, solnyshka, we will be happy to visit LGA again in the future. And perhaps we will you see in the postseason, da?” You nodded at that, smiling as she left in one of the trucks with many of her sick comrades.

That just left your crews. Ingrid looks up at you jealously, her nose red as a reindeer's. “Ellie. Why the hell are you not sick like the rest of us!?” she asks through a stuffed nose.

You shrug. “I have a good immune system, what can I say?” Years of being raised in New Jersey builds up your tolerance to all kinds of things. Disease included. “Are you guys going to be okay?” Stack snorts up a huge batch of snot into her nose. “Stack, don't snort, blow your nose.” She groans, reaching for one of the many tissue boxes available. Everyone was crowded on the engine block. The tank was actually running on idle, which meant the idle heat was allowing the crew to warm up a little. “Again, you guys going to be okay?” They all shrug and mutter indistinctly. “Well, okay. I'm going to head to work then.”

“Noooooo~!” Winona immediately reaches out and hugs you. “You can't leave us, Ellie! We're going to DIIIIEEEEE!”

“It's a fucking cold,” you say. “Don't be such a pussy.”

“I've never had a cold before!” Winona whines. WHAT!? How the fuck- wait. Winona's rich. No, that actually makes some amount of sense. “It feels terrible!” She rubs up against you. “Help us, Ellie, you're our only hope!”

Well, they have to get it right once or they have to do it all over again. Boys are actually surprisingly good artists. Jack could probably paint you on the side of his plane in Art Noveau, Art Deco, or in Cubism.

> “Ugh. Fine. One minute.” (Call the Captain and ask for a sick day.)

You roll your eyes, slowly pushing Winona away. “Fine,” you declare. Everyone raises their arms in triump. Maybe it'll a good time to spend a day with your crew anyway. You feel like you've been neglecting them anyway. It'd be good to get to know them a little better. “Alright. I'm going to ask the Captain for a sick day, then we'll see what's what.”

You drop off the tank, then pull out your Officer's Pad.

Huh? Why did she give you two sick days?

You sigh. Oh well. Maybe it's just to make sure everyone heals nicely. You better not hear anything from Caldwell.

Still. You fold your arms and look at all the crews. Everyone's shambling around like zombies or lying in their sleeping bags. Griselda is in her office, and you know for a fact that she probably has the worst of it. Even Iris and company are struggling to maintain their composure. They've taken one of the shower's whirlpool baths and are trying to have a tea party in it. Lot of ways to fix a cold you suppose.

Hm, where should you start then?

You decide to dial the non-emergency number. “Hello? This is Lieutenant Commander Zumwalt.”

“Hello, Lieutenant Commander!” says a very perky and cheery voice on the other end. “How can I help you?”

“Put me through to Naval Studies Medical.”

“One moment!” Some filler music plays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_6x3EW3FC0

You sigh. You decide getting some chicken noodle soup should be a priority, so you head into the kitchen. As you prepare the pot, you hear a click on the other end. “Naval Studies Medical, you are speaking to Lieutenant Commander Lester. How can I help you?”

“Commander Lester, it's Commander Zumwalt. The NATO team is stricken with a cold and I'm the only one who isn't a casualty. Could you dispatch some people to deliver some medicine and some TLC as well?”

“Sure, you're at the Tankery HQ, right?”

“Yes, I am.”

“Alright, I'll personally see to it then. You're due for a physical anyway so I might as well kill two birds with one stone.” Wait. What. “See ya!” WAIT WHAT. Physical!? Ugh! You knock your head against the pot.

The door opens, and Winona pokes her head in. “Ellie... where's the chicken noodle soup?” she whines.

“Close that door, I don't want your germs infecting the broth!” you declare. She groans, turning around. Hmph. Making chicken noodle soup for... probably 50 or 60 people. That's going to be something. Oh well. No pain, no gain.

You receive a phone call however.

It's Gertrude Pool. “Hello?”

“Hey, it's me,” says Gertrude. “Uh, listen, I just wanted to say sorry for how vicious things got on Saturday.”

“Oh, no, it's alright,” you say. “Honest. Griselda's over it, you seem to be over it as well.”

“Yeah. Griselda's just so stubborn though. I guess she got it from me, shucks. Maybe a bit of Dad too.” You shrug at that, as if she can see you. “Listen, can you tell Griselda I'm sorry for me? I'd tell her myself but she's not answering her phone right now.”

“Oh.” There's a pause. “Really?”

“Really. I just called Naval Studies Medical to get some medicine,” you explain. “Hopefully we'll-”

“Excuse me a second.” She hangs up. Huh?

You shrug. Whatever. You place your phone back into your skirt pocket, then start work on the broth. It takes several minutes of prepwork, checking every ingredient, making sure all your tools are in place, making sure the knives are sharp, all that stuff. But now that you are ready, this chicken noodle soup is going to be the best in town and you know it! It'll cure the-

You hear a tire squealing outside. What the fuck?

At the sound of the tires, you hurry back into the hangar. There you see a Dodge WC54 Ambulance truck slide right in, with a popped tire and what looks to be a busted headlight. You check your watch. That was only like five minutes.

Out of the back of the truck comes Gertrude Pool, wearing a white nurse outfit with a dangerously short skirt, a pink nurse hat, and a medical mask over her face. “GERTRUDE POOL IS HERE TO TAKE CARE OF HER SISTER! AND INTRODUCING HER LOVELY ASSISTANT, KITTEN SMITH!” She holds her arm out to an empty space of air.

“AND INTRODUCING...” Gertrude looks back. “C'mon, Kitten.”

“I don't wanna,” says Kitten.

“C'mon! I could've gotten Clara to do this!” says Gertrude.

“Ugh. Fine.” Kitten steps out as well, wearing the same kind of nurse outfit too, a deep blush on her face.

“AND INTRODUCING HER LOVELY ASSISTANT, KITTEN SMITH!” Gertrude boasts again. “Now where's my sister?”

“But- but... sister!” whines Gertrude.

“No buts, get in there.”

Despite you trying to keep them out, Winona, Josephina, Stack, and Ingrid were very insistent in watching you cook the chicken noodle soup. Gertrude and Kitten as well were busy working on cutting the chicken and cooking it. You had to make enough for soup for the entire team, which meant there was a lot to do.

Winona sniffles a bit. “When is it gonna be ready?”

“Soon,” you say.

Winona grumbles a little. “But I want it now! If this chicken noodle soup can cure me-”

“It doesn't cure you,” you say. “It just makes you feel a bit better.”

Stack coughs. “Yeah, so stop whining you pussy!”

You hear another ambulance come in, this time with lights and sirens. Ugh, great. You abandon what you're doing, and come out to meet the medics. Dropping out of the truck are several Naval Studies Medical Students, as well Lieutenant Commander Fawn Lester. “Hello, students, we will be giving you all medicine in just a little bit!” Lester opens her jacket, and lets it blow away in the apparently convenient breeze. You walk up to her. “I am Lieutenant Commander Fawn Lester!” She sighs deeply, opening her blouse a little bit. “Oooh, we have such a wet heat today! And with all this rain too!”

“It's nice to meet you,” you say.

“Do you mind if I take my shirt off? You don't, okay!” She drops her blouse, deciding on a tank top for her ample bosom instead it seems. Uh... “Lieutenant Commander Zumwalt. If you would please help me with the medicine!” She hands you a bottle. “I would greatly appreciate it!”

Using a ladle, you pour soup into the bowls for the girls. Two orderly lines were set up for everyone to get their soup as you and Gertrude began pouring soup for everyone. It was like a soup kitchen, except for the sick instead of the poor. You remember your Mom and Dad taking you to a soup kitchen a couple of times when the money got too scarce to buy ingredients, fun times with hobos. The singing hobos, not the stabbing ones.

At least Gertrude was still having fun with it, taking pictures with some fans of hers on the team. The Poles especially were happy to talk about their superior Poles on the ITL team, whom they desperately wanted a rematch with.

Iris walks up to you with her bowl, smiling as she wears nothing but a long bathrobe and a towel over her head. You pour some soup for her. “Thank you. Do you need help?”

“I'm good,” you say. Iris nods, stepping to the side. Apparently she wants to talk to you. “Feeling any better.”

“The bath did wonders to clear the sinuses but unfortunately there's still the exhaustion and the nausea,” says Iris. “Hopefully this antiquated solution will do well for my condition. How are you doing by the way?” Well, things could be worse. You'd really rather be at your first day of being a Lieutenant Commander.

You shudder. Caldwell's probably chopping the office in half in her image. And probably talking shit about you behind your back. Hmph. Caldwell.

“I am doing fine,” you say. “Thank you for asking, Iris. Truth be told, I would rather be at work but if the team needs me then I shall be here.”

Iris nods. “Of course. Sorry that you are unable to go to work today.”

“It's not your fault.” She takes a sip of her soup as you speak. You fold your arms, sighing. “I just wish I'd have had a chance to impress my superiors. It won't reflect well on me, especially since I have active competition for my job and my future promotion.”

“Well, think of it this way. A lady knows when to sacrifice herself for the sake of others,” she explains. “I believe you are doing the right thing.”

“Thanks, Iris.” You pour some soup for the Delinquents, who all retreat to their motorcycles, grumbling about their sickness while also cursing the Harley-Davidson brand under their breath, much to the chagrin of one of them. “Anyway, after you eat your soup, you gotta take your meds, okay?”

“Alright,” says Iris. You hear another jeep coming in. Oh, who is it this time!?

The jeep parks up next to the two ambulances. You walk up to greet them and find... Caldwell? “Well, well, well, I had to see it to believe it. You're not actually sick and yet you're taking sick leave!” She carries a medical kit and a bag of medicine as well. Oh great, just what you fucking needed. “Just so you know, Massey and Kotsiopoulos are handling your job back at the office very well, just so you know.”

“What are you doing here, Caldwell?” you ask.

She turns her nose up. “I came to check on you and make sure you weren't taking advantage of the Captain!”

You squint at the medkit and the bag of meds and food. “Then what's that?”

“... that's if you were actually sick,” she says quickly. “But let's disregard this.” She throws it back into the jeep. “You're clearly not sick,” she says with a smug smirk.

“Oh, and you need my help as well?” She giggles a little. “Heehee! Fine, I'll humor you, Zumzum!” She takes the medkit back out of her jeep, smiling incredibly and very smugly at you. “Hm, hm...” She grabs your head, then suddenly and gently presses her forehead against yours. UH. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? “Hm... you're getting slightly hot but that shouldn't be anything to worry about. Especially since apparently you get two sick days for not being sick. Hmph!” She turns around, walking off to tend to a crew.

Well- fuck her too then! Jesus!

With the chicken noodle soup all distributed, you tell Gertrude that she's free to go and baby her sister. “Yes!” Gertrude pumps her fist, then quickly grabs Kitten's wrist as she plays on her PSP. “Come on, Kitten!”

“Fiiine,” mumbles Kitten. The two of them are still in those ridiculous nurse outfits. You could tell she's being reluctant at least.

> Give your crew their medicine.

“Alright, everyone.” You hold up a medicine bottle, then take a spoon. “Here comes your medicine.” The first person to take it will be Josephina. She opens her mouth, and you stick the spoon in for her to swallow the bitter medicine.

She shudders, snifling. “Je déteste prendre des médicaments. Il a un goût comme de la merde sur un cheval,” she mutters to herself.

Ingrid stares at Josephina with glazed over eyes. “English, Josie.” You give the medicine as well to Ingrid. “Guh. It's like the Nationals 2014 NLDS.” You roll your eyes, then move onto Winona.

But Winona turns her head away. “Winona,” you say. “Come on, take your medicine.”

“No. They just said it tastes weird,” says Winona. Oh for fucks sake. You try to spoon it to her again, but she turns her head away again.

“Come on!” you order. She shakes her head, hugging Cuddles as he slithers into her blanket.

Alright, this is going to call for drastic measures. You poke Winona in the side. She giggles. “Ah! No, that tickle-” You shove the spoon in her mouth. She gags a bit, then you pull it out. She coughs. “Ew! Ugh! What was that!?”

“Medicine,” you say. “I can't believe you've never taken that before.”

“I've never gotten sick before!” she says. You roll your eyes.

“Alright, Stack.” You pour more medicine onto a fresh spoon. Stack leans back, opening her mouth. “Here we-”

“STOP!” You all look to the hangar door to see Stack's sisters, Hoel, Lo, and Fannie. They, just like Gertrude, wear more antiquated and much more elegant nurse outfits. “We heard our sister was sick! As her dear older sisters we have exclusive and ultimate authority on how to take care of our little Sammy!”

Ingrid glances at Stack. “Sammy?”

“Shut up,” says Stack.

"You up for that Stack?" Ask her quietly, but just let her decide.

Also tell the sisters they need to demonstrate their devotion as siblings to at least the same levels as Gertude if we want to take them seriously, and that means meeting the Nurse costume dress code for caring older siblings.

You sigh. “Uh, yeah, I guess you can.” Stack looks at you, incredulous. You shrug. You can't really argue against family. The three big sisters proceed to swamp Stack.

“Oh, there, there!” Hoel rests Stack's head against her ample bosom, smiling warmly and gently. “Poor little Sammy! I don't believe any of us have caught a cold in so long and yet it happens to you! Oh, bless your heart!” Stack stares forward, accepting her fate. “Lo, would you please knit little Sammy a blanket?”

Lo is already in a rocking chair that she pulled from nowhere in particular, knitting away. “Way ahead of you.”

Fannie kneels down, then offers the medicine to Stack. Stack simply swallows it without another word as the three sisters coo and prod at Stack as if she were a cute little puppy.

Stack looks like she wants to die.

Winona sighs. “Poor Stack.”

“Poor Sammy you mean,” says Ingrid.

Winona groans. “That medicine's taste is still on my tongue.” She shudders at it, spitting up a little onto the floor.

Lester has taken you into the infirmary where she can properly take a look at you. “Hm...” Lester has you stripped down to your birthday suit, where she examines every nook and cranny of your body. She takes a note down in her clipboard occasionally, looking at you up and down. “Yes, yes.”

“Are we done?” you ask.

“Almost,” she says. “I must say, for a fifteen year old, you are very well-developed.” You roll your eyes. You get that a lot, especially in Middle School. “Good muscle structure, excellent reflexes, hm, hm, hm, do you mind if I take off my skirt?” You blink. Uh... She unzips her skirt, now wearing on her tanktop and a pair of pink lacy panties. “Oh goodness, the breeze feels amazing!” She arches her back, sighing deeply.

You stare at her. “Um. Lester. Is there something you need to tell me?”

She blinks at you, smiling a little as she limbers up, stretching her leg up one of the counters. “Like what?”

“Like... why you're just taking your clothes off and posing like you're a magazine,” you say.

Lester leans back, raising her arms up high. “I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about.”

“Right.” You glance away, then back at her. “So are we done?”

“Hm?” She takes off her tanktop, sighing with bliss as she stands in only her bra and panties. “Almost. Actually, I will ask you one more thing. Have you ever felt nauseous lately, any sickness or lightness of the head?” You shake your head. “Ah, good, good. Tell you what, I can basically just approve you for duty now but, one more thing.” Ugh. “How do I look?” She brushes back her flowing long hair, now lying on the bed and looking up as if someone is going to paint her like a French girl.

“This!” you say. “A-... are you flirting with me?”

“No, I just feel comfortable doing this,” she says simply. “As a freespirited individual, I have the right to take off my clothes and just bask in the breeze and the air that the God almighty gave to us.” She turns around, presenting her chest to the air now as well. “Aaahhh...”

“I'm fine,” you say. You rub your nose a little. Feels a little stuffy actually. “Are you going to stick around?”

“Well, I was going to head out and grab some dinner for everybody,” she says.

“Alright,” you say. “Well, good luck then.” Gertrude smiles, hopping into the ambulance. It speeds away, but not before crashing into one of the tanks, then backing up and driving out. You roll your eyes, folding your arms.

You find Griselda sipping on some coffee as she sits at her desk. A blanket is wrapped around her shoulders as she types up some reports on her typewriter. “It's nice of you to check in on me,” says Griselda.

“Yeah,” you say. “I hope you're doing fine?”

“Yeah. Gertrude said her apologies, we talked a little.” She leans, back sniffling a little. “We had another spat of course but eh...” She shrugs.

You sigh. “What now?”

“Nothing,” she says.

“You're sure.”

“I'm sure,” she says. “Look, I'm fine. Everybody's fine. Oleg's fine too, he's busy napping somewhere else in the back. He does that.” You roll your eyes for what seems like the tenth time today. “Listen, I-” There's a knock at the door. Griselda takes a deep breath, then says, “Come in!”

In walk in the five Delinquent motorcyclists. “Griselda!” Serina Hildebrand raises her hand. “We'd like to make a request in person.”

Griselda rubs her nose, then blows into a tissue. “State it.”

“We want cash to buy a Henschel turret for our King Tiger,” says Kyoko. “And also parts for our motorcycles too.”

“The Henschel turret is in the books for now. I can't buy it because I've already purchased a number of amenities for the team to enjoy for their tanks. We'll be having applique armor as standard, engine improvements as well if they're not already done, and also I'm working on purchasing a new tank.”

“Really?” you ask.

Serina folds her arms. “What about motorcycle stuff? Can we do any of that in Tankery?”

“Unfortunately, you're not allowed to bring secondary vehicles into Tankery, especially Motorcycles,” says Griselda. The Delinquents all deflate at that. “I commend your idea to use them as recon but that's just not how it's done.”

“Alright,” says Serina. She rubs her arm a little, apparently now feeling kind of useless. “I mean, maybe we should've picked another tank I suppose.”

More than the tank its the girls behind it that decide capability, they should remember that.

> “I commend your idea to use them as recon but that's just not how it's done.”
We could always ask though right? I mean NATO's doing a bunch of crazy shit, with including Cold War stuff and playing with rules that used to be set in stone. Maybe not motorcycles, but we could look at alternative recce measures, after all we're allowed to get out of our tanks for repairs and scouting technically maybe we could get some of those Airborne motor-scooter things to assist with that.

“You're doing fine in the King Tiger. But if you're asking, I suppose we can indulge you.” You sit down. What are you looking for?”

Serina says, “We just want something that isn't so... we feel like we're sitting ducks with how slow we are. Don't get us wrong, we love the King Tiger and we love the armor and the gun and everything on it but we're... we're getting second thoughts because there's only so much we can see. And, I get kind of nervous not being able to see anything unless I turn out. And I don't really turn out because I don't want to get my head blown off by a shell.”

Griselda nods. “Nobody gets their head blown off by a shell anymore, not since NATO designed the disintegrating shells.”

“Well, still.” Serina shrugs. “I mean-”

“This sounds more like you have an issue with being alone,” says Griselda. You look to her as she talks. “Look, Serina. The King Tiger is a lovely tank, we'd love to have it in time for the match with Hugo Gernsback. I just ask that you try and make the best of it. If it makes you feel better, I'll ask that you always work with another team to help recon the area for you and make sure things are clear for you to work in.”

The Delinquents all look at each other. “I-... I suppose,” says Serina.

Griselda nods, rubbing her eye a bit. “If you really want to move to another tank, you can talk to me later. I'm kind of busy right now.” The Delinquents all nod. “By the way, before you all go. Which one of you rides that Honda CBR1000?” Francine raises her hand. “I was thinking of buying Honda for my first bike, which would you recommend?”

“Oh!” Francine grins a little. “We actually have a Super Four you can borrow. That's a good beginner bike if you want to come by our clubhouse.”

“I'd love to if I get the time,” says Griselda. The Delinquents all grin, smiling at the fact that apparently Griselda likes motorcycles too. “Well, I gotta get back to work,” she says. The Delinquents nod, stepping out.

You sit there with Griselda. “You were just doing that to make them feel better, weren't you?” you ask.

“I actually already own a BMW R12. I like to work on it, but I haven't had much time to lately,” she says. She sighs a little sadly. “Did you have anything you wanted to talk about? Dinner's gonna be ready soon anyway.”

Certainly not in the case of LGA, where it's been repeatedly stated that schoolships are for a nations best and brightest and have expensive tuitions if you're not prepared to work for it in Naval Studies. Surface schools are still the majority, for instance Kill Devil Hills High School where the boys come from, or where the Aces old team leader went after she was crippled.

“No,” she says back.

You lean back a little, whistling a bit. “Um, okay.”

“Look, I know you've helped me, and you still are. But what's between me and Gertrude is between me and Gertrude,” Griselda says bluntly. “I know it may not seem reasonable, but I think you'd understand if you had a little or a big sister.”

“I don't need to understand to know that it's affecting you,” you say. “I don't know you much from Adam, Griselda, but I know you're a good person deep down.” Griselda glances away, then nods slowly. “Just so you know, I think you can be better than your sister one day.” You stand up, sighing. “Until then though...”

“Yeah, whatever.” Griselda shakes her head. “Was there anything else?” You shake your head. “Good, I'll let you go now. See you, Ellie.”

Dinner was served, courtesy of Gertrude Pool and her calling in a lot of favors from the various restaurants she's helped out in the past. All kinds of things were served out to everybody, ribs, chicken, sandwiches, pho, ramen, sushi, salads, the works. You took up a salad, several slices of pork, some ribs, a leg of chicken, and a bowl of ramen onto a tray for yourself, then proceeded to sneeze. That was close, you almost lost everything.

You sit down with your crew, all of whom are looking much better than this morning. Winona smiles at you. “Hey, Ellie!” Winona tugs on your cheek. “Gonna stuff them cheeks like a chipmunk are we?” You slap her hand away, get off.

Josephina says, “I heard about Hugo Gernsback school. Apparently they own a lot of heavy tanks. They even own the other Maus prototype that was built.”

“That was scuttled during the war,” says Ingrid. “It's just rumor to scare people.”

“Are you sure?” asks Josephina. “I mean, I have never seen a Maus in person.”

“I'm sure,” says Ingrid. “It's probably an Elefant tank or something.”

“Tomorrow's our practice though,” says Winona. “But look out there!” You all look out the hangar door, and still see the rain continue to pour down. “How are we supposed to practice in rain like that!”

“You don't know it's going to keep raining,” says Ingrid.

“It totally is,” says Winona. “To be frank, it might be the perfect time to wear my sexy bra. Imagine it, the boys walking by and my shirt's gone all see through!” She smirks, patting her cheek a bit. “Oh boy! I can't wait for that!”

“Yeah, you're wearing a jacket, I'm not having you get sick again,” you say. Winona pouts a bit.

Stack says, “Say, Ellie. What's your opinion on Hugo Gernsback?” You tilt your head. “I actually have the reckoning that they got a load of King Tigers, Pershings, Jagdtigers, Jagdpanthers, Churchill VIIs, KV tanks, IS-3s, etc.” … they have a lot of heavy tanks. “That's a tall order for our line up, they'll win a straight up slugfest no matter how well we organize it.”

We can run rings around them if we have to.

I'd love it if our lineup had long range indirect fire tanks like Gertrude's had. These slow moving big targets are the ideal targets for artillery.
>>
>>622215
I believe every tank is capable for indirect fire, even with what with have now. Just need to practice and train for it.
>>
>>622251
There's a difference between technically capable and effective, especially against armoured targets as HE is the order of business for indirect work. Only really the 122 and 128 could be considered useful in that sense and the JT has such terrible elevation that it's also mostly useless as indirect support. The IS-2 might be able to do it, but alone it won't achieve enough concentration of fire to be effective.
>>
>>622251
I'm not so sold on that idea. Our tanks seem very focused on flat-shooting, relatively long-range firepower, with little chance to deliver the large HE payloads required for effective indirect fire.
>>
> Polite

“They'll be a worthy opponent to face all the same. I mean, we're good, but they have a pretty mean lineup. Even with untrained crews they can probably put up a good fight.” Everyone acknowledges that, nodding. “We just have to face it all the same regardless and hope that we pull out a win.”

“I hope we do,” says Stack. “Another full win would keep us in postseason contention.”

Winona sighs. “Maybe we can go shopping tomorrow!” You all look at her as if she's crazy. “Come on! Ellie has another sick day, rain's probably going to cancel work for some of us! I'm thinking some new clothes, maybe a new model tank! Oooh! There was that RC Goliath I wanted to get for us! Maybe we can even find a TV that'll work with Ellie's SNES!”

You gasp. YOUR SNES! OH SHIT, YOU FORGOT IT BACK AT YOUR DORM! FUCK.

“We can get it later!” says Winona. “But we should take advantage of Ellie not having any work to do, guys! She all ours!” Winona hugs you. “And I am not going to let her go.” You lean to the left a little, away from Winona. “You hear me! Not letting go!”

“Please let go,” you whisper.

The rains continue to beat down on the hangar as everyone settles into sleep. The hangar actually does have bunks, but in keeping with the attitude of spending the night with the tanks, the sleeping bags were broken out and the door was shut to keep out the noise of the rain. At least this time you're not having everyone sleep on top of you. You strip down to just your blouse, then press your sleeping bag flat as everyone hits the hay.

You decided to get a quick glass of water though before you head to bed. You head into the kitchen and open the tap. You don't bother with the lights to be honest, you have pretty good nightvision anyway and- “Elodie.” Oh fuck. Thunder rumbles in the distance.

Behind is Oleg, leaning on the doorway. The welding mask still covers up his face, but now he has adopted a bomber jacket to go along with his usual boiler suit. “Oh. Oleg, it's just you.” You smile a little.

Wording is a little confusing here.

>“Really?” he says.
Isn't saying no saying that we DO think less of him?

I mean if the option is meant to mean no we don't think less of him then I'll vote for it, but that caugjt me off guard here.

I'll only think less of you if you ever do anything like it again. Once is a mistake, more than that is a character flaw.
>>
> “No.”

“No.”

He nods slowly. “Is that meaning you do think less of me or...”

“It means I don't,” you say quickly. “Look, Oleg. I wasn't there for it. I don't know the full details. But it's in the past, and what's done is done. We just have to try and move on from it. And hope that maybe Miss McPherson can get a bit of closure from it. You get what I mean?”

“Da.” He nods more firmly this time.

“Can I ask you a question?” He tilts his head. “Why exactly did you do it? Was it money?”

“Da. Money. I mean, I was a young man at the time. Having cute young girls like them ask me to work on their tank... felt like a dream. Of course now.” He shoves his hands in his pockets, probably grimacing underneath his welding mask. “I am going never to do it again after seeing how it tore them apart. Tankery was life to them. And having to watch them wither and fade after being blacklisted was awful.”

“Right.” You take a sip of water from your glass.

“I'm sorry, I am keeping you awake, solnyshka.” He steps aside. “Please, have a good night. Sleep well.” You nod, starting to move past him. “By the way. I work with Griselda in possible conversions for the tanks. You build up a lot of cash yet?”

“About ten-thousand dollars,” you explains.

“Ha! Ha!” He slaps his knee, chuckling. Your face however, stops him very slowly. “Oh, you're serious. Well. Okay. We can discuss conversions when you are ready.” You nod.

“Good night, Oleg.”

“Da, good night.”

Once you drink your glass of water, you head back into the hangar. Your crew are fast asleep for now, that's a relief at least. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a little better. You sniffle a little, then cough a bit. Though, the talk with Oleg does keep you awake a little. Not just this uncomfortable heat either. Tankery was life.

You pull up your phone and move to call your mom. But just before you hit the dial button, you stop yourself.

No. Maybe there's a better time for that conversation.

Good thread GS. Still hoping to see Kits report on the weekend soon. You can't just tease me with her calling out that she has a scoop!

Should be fun being babied during our sick day. Winona is just going to love it.

Thanks for the fun, boss. Sorry I missed most of it.

I actually forgot to do her tweets for today. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks for today Schteel!

Now to post-quest tank discussion:
Do we need some indirect capabilities, like some anon suggest above?
>>

Thanks for running as always Schteel, and for ensuring the the QM of that Akun GuP quest is mighty confused when he comes back to look at his chat.

Tut tut, gotta keep on top of that 24 hour news cycle.

Not primarily, but I wouldn't be adverse to something like a Sherman 105mm, StuH, or Cromwell CS which are capable both in the direct fire role with HEAT as well as able to barrage from longer ranges.

Well, I look forward to them when they happen. Just so long as Ellie gets to freak out at her picture on NATO's news. Especially in such a condition.

Its actually a great moment she'll treasure later I am sure. But, well, Elie is Elie.

Also, since Schteel reminded me earlier today, I decided to revisit my attempts to find out if you could cram a 6 pounder molins gun autoloader into a Churchill's turret. After giving up on finding any real measurements and simply resorting to looking really hard at pictures of the interior of a Churchill IV's turret and the Naval and Air borne versions of a Molins gun, I'm prepared to make the definitive declaration that you probably could, under the following conditions:
> It loads between 2 and 3 shells, that is one in the pipe and one in reserve, or 1 in the pipe with two more on the feed rack. Anymore and it won't fit without removing crewmembers or be impossible to reload realistically.
> It uses the feed setup of the naval Molins gun but flipped to the right hand side of the gun (this should be fine as the shells still technically load from the top of the breach. This keeps the shells on the slightly more roomy loader's side of the turret.
> Gun depression is going to be severely reduced. We're talking down to something like 8 or 7 degrees from 12.5.

So basically you'd be looking at a very burst oriented weapon, firing 2 to 3 rounds in as many seconds before having reload the ammunition bank. Thankfully that reloading is pretty simple on the Molins, you seem to crank back the spring assist and then load the shells from the back of the bank, while the shell that's going to be in the breech is loaded as normal.

It'll probably make the Churchill a much less pleasant workspace though, and there'll not much room for the tea and fine china. If someone has found actual dimensions and can prove me right or wrong, that'd be very much appreciated.

Get a BP turret, max space for Anglo-loader. Bonus points for confusing enemy teams with huge turret and tiny gun.
>>
>>623319
The BP turret wouldn't fit on a Churchill, that was the whole point of the tank after all, getting a wider turret ring so they could mount the 17 pounder.

Thanks for running.

I assume you just misclicked and responded to the wrong post, but just in case you didn't. I uh, I don't run the quest mate, that's Schteel, I just help out with tank technical stuff and maintain the Team pastebin.
