You are Captain SAMANTHA WELLINGS, a newly minted captain of the Centauri Accord!

After spending most of the day spending some quality alone time with Tank at the Crystal Cove, it was finally time to get back to the mainland before it got dark. You lounge in the back of the yacht as Tank takes the helm, the still fresh memories of that intimate moment to two of you spent in the darkness still running through your mind.

However, you're quickly snapped out of your trance when Tank pokes his now helmeted head out of the bridge to check on you. He apparently wants to confirm your next destination.

Hmmm, well, you were a bit intrigued by Bradford's report that Elizabeth was apparently skulking around. What could she possibly be doing here? Was she on some assignment from her superiors of Frolaytia? Was she spying on you? Did she just feel left out? You never really knew with spies.

However, that left the question of how to actually FIND her. This was a big planet, and even if her area of operation was narrowed to an island, the islands here were still pretty damn big...

"Hey, Tank." You speak up as you look at the slowly darkening skies. "Let's say that Elizabeth is doing her sneaking around for whatever reasons she wants. You think she'd be hiding among the waitstaff?"

Tank shrugs. Sounds likely, given her... interests.

"Maybe we should head back to the hotel and check them out?" You suggest.

Tank shrugs again. It's your call, after all.

"All right! Let's go!"

Tank nods and throttles up the yacht as it makes a beeline straight back to the hotel, now a shining beacon on the horizon.

Nah, you're pretty sure you and Tank can handle this on your own. No need to bother the rest of the crew on their own vacation about it. By this point, the yacht has finally returned the marina just as the sun begins to go down. Already, you can see the lights of the beach city as well as more than a few impromptu bonfires lighting up the darkness, beachgoers huddling around the fires for warmth and company.

However, you and Tank make a beeline straight for the hotel. Now, there were two ways you figure this could be handled. You could just stake out the staff entrance, since all of the hotel staff would have to pass through there at some point, so all you'd have to do is wait.

Or... you could infiltrate the hotel staff yourself. You certainly had the security clearance for it so...

Well, you guess you can always infiltrate the hotel staff. You were apparently pretty good at undercover ops even though you never really chosen to specialize in that field.

First, you put on a jacket and have the nanites reconfigure the lower portion of your swimsuit into a skirt to be a bit more modest. Then, you approach the front desk and flash your security clearance to the clerk.

"Official Accord business. I need to disguise myself as one of your staff." You explain, trying to sound as dead serious as possible.

"Of course, ma'am." The clerk nods without hesitation. "If you would follow me..."

You and Tank follow the clerk into the back area of the hotel, which was a series of sprawling and narrow hallways. Despite this, the clerk is able to navigate them with ease.

"Now, we do have several distinct, er, divisions of staff." The clerk explains. "We have food service, cleaning service, and ah... personal service for VIPs. Which would you like to pose as?"

Hmmm, which role was Elizabeth most likely to assume...?

"How about cleaning?" You ask. It was an innocuous enough role that nobody would pay attention to it, but at the same time afforded quite a lot of access to the personal effects of potential targets.

"Understood." The clerk hurries you into a nearby changing room. Inside, you could see rows upon rows of cleaning maid uniforms. They weren't nearly as cute and frilly as the ones you've seen other female staff wearing, most likely since cleaning staff needed more practical clothing to do their jobs. Long sleeves and a low skirt line allowed freedom of movement as well as protection from the various messes guests could leave behind.

It wasn't glamorous, but it was something.

You also notice Tank silently watching as you change.

You decide to stay on task, remembering why you were doing all of this.

"Can you track the cleaning staff in the hotel?" You ask the clerk.

"Of course." The clerk nods as he brings up a nearby datapad, which displays a holographic map of the hotel. "Since it's evening most of of the cleaning staff are not on duty, but there are a few cleaning out recently vacated rooms or answering cleanup calls."

You look at the map as you watch the dots moving around. There's barely half a dozen, which would make things simple. Most of them were lurking about in either the basement levels, the VIP lounges, and the floor you and your crew's suites were located...

"We'll go check out the VIP level." You say.

"Ah, then here's the clearance card for that level." The clerk hands you a keycard. "Though I must advise that your... subordinate is best suited to stay down here. We still have an image to maintain, after all."

"I understand." You nod. Even in his scuba armor, Tank still stood out like a sore thumb. Well, at least he could remain as backup.

"Just... don't cause too much of a commotion, please." The clerk pleads. "The VIP level is reserved for the highest levels of Accord military, political and economic membership. We don't want to create an incident."

"I'll use discretion." You assure him as you head for the elevator.

You manage to enter the VIP level without much difficulty. The doors slide open soundlessly and you're immediately met with a very warm lounge. Velvet chairs and fur carpets, genuine wood furniture and wall paneling. Hell, there was even a fully stocked and manned wet bar while off to the side was a massive window opening up to the endless seas outside.

Everywhere, you could see dozens of the Accord's highest class elite, dressed in all a manner of exotic fashions as they dined, drank, and did whatever fabulously wealthy people did in their free time.

"Captain Wellings...?" You hear a voice. A very FAMILIAR voice.

You freeze and turn slowly to see Frolaytia. YOUR SUPERIOR OFFICER, sitting at a table with what appears to be a far older gentleman. She's wearing a bright red cocktail dress, too. The way she narrows her eyes and stares at you, she hasn't immediately recognized you, but she suspects...

"N-no, it's all right." Frolaytia shakes her head. "You just reminded me of somebody, that's all."

Whew, you dodged a bullet there. You quickly make your escape, shuffling off as quickly as possible. Whether Frolaytia genuinely didn't recognize your or didn't care, you weren't too sure, but you weren't about to stick around to find out.

You still follow from a safe distance until Elizabeth finally makes a stop in front of one of the suites. You stop at the corner and peek around, silently observing Elizabeth as she knocks on the door. You stop at the door and peek in, where you see Elizabeth casually humming to herself as she carefully plants several small cameras, bugs, and surveillance drones all over the room, all under the guise of a maid cleaning up. So she certainly was here to spy on somebody. Thankfully, it didn't appear to be you or your crew, but the fact that it was happening in the same hotel was just a bit too much of a coincidence.

Elizabeth still doesn't seem to have noticed you as she moves off into the absurdly large marble bathroom connected to the bedroom.

With a devious grin, you silently talk up behind Elizabeth and pat her on the shoulder.

Her surprised shriek is sharp and satisfying and you burst out laughing as the spy practically leaps so high in the air you could swear she almost hit her head on the ceiling.

"You're getting pretty lax, Elizabeth!" You manage to gasp between laughs. "If someone like me can sneak up on you!"

"Geez, that's not funny, Captain." Elizabeth coughs as she tries to regain her composure. Something that was hard to do in a maid uniform. "I could've killed you, you know!"

"But you didn't." You point out. "So what the hell are you up to, anyways? You're definitely trying to spy on whoever is living in here."

"That's information on a need to know basis." Elizabeth huffs.

"Come ooooon, we're friends, right?" You give Elizabeth a big stupid grin as you pat her on the shoulder. "There's no harm in telling me!"

"Any good spy would know to keep their private and professional matters distinct." Elizabeth sidesteps your request.

Hm, this could get complicated...

"Pleeeeaaaaase?" You plead to Elizabeth, your eyes growing wide and watery to appeal to her sense of guilt.

Elizabeth does her best to to resist your charms, but not even she can resist your wiles.

"Fine. FIIIIIIINE." Elizabeth groans. "A person of interest had recently checked into this hotel, which has raised quite a few flags at HQ. I've been tasked with keeping an eye on her to figure out her motives."

"Person of interest?" You raise an eyebrow.

"You remember Felicity Prudence?" Elizabeth asks.

Oh no.

OH NO.

"What's she doing here?!" You gasp.

"That's what we want to know." Elizabeth sighs.

"Why don't you just arrest her?" You blink.

"Well, she wouldn't talk otherwise, and she' proven rather good at escaping nets." Elizabeth sighs. "As long as we don't arouse her suspicion, she might reveal her reasons for coming here."

"Maybe.. she just wants a day off like us?" You suggest.

"You really think one of the galaxy's most wanted pirates is just going to come to one of the busiest tourist planets in known space just for a day off?" Elizabeth raises an eyebrow.

"Um... yes?" You shrug.

"You certainly are the trusting type, aren't you?" Elizabeth sighs.

"Well, where is she, anyways?" You look around the empty room.

"In the spa, currently." Elizabeth explains. "She came alone, but I expect she has a few tricks up her sleeve to defend herself."

"Hey, I'm not saying we attack her or anything." You shake your head.

"All right, all right, you can continue observing her, then." You sigh. "If she does start anything, let me know, okay?"

"Of course." Elizabeth nods. "Well, you better get going. I still need to bug the rest of this suite and who knows when Felicity will come back!"

"Yeah, yeah, I'll get out of your way." You nod as you head for the door.

You exit the suite and make a beeline straight back to the elevator, making sure to keep your distance from Frolaytia to prevent her from recognizing you again. You kind of wonder what she's doing here.

Finally, you reach the relative safety of the elevator and hit the key for the employee area. As you wait for the lift to arrive at its destination, you ponder what to do with this new information.

You suppose it's only proper to give Carly a heads up that Felicity was present. You activate your comm and dial in Carly's number.

"Yo! Sis! What's up?" Your sister chirps happily.

"Hey, Carly, I'm just giving you a heads up, but Felicity Prudence is apparently prowling around here." You warn her. "I'm not sure why, but... just careful, okay?"

"Oh...OH." Carly pauses. "Yeah, okay, I'll keep that mind. Thanks a lot, Sis!"

And then just as quickly, the connection is cut.

You sigh as you switch off your comm. Things were just getting more and more complicated now.

Weren't vacations supposed to relieve you of stress?!
