You decided the best thing to do for now was retreat back to the warehouse for the night. Darkness was approaching very quickly with the autumn times, and that meant the cold, and that meant the Witch Doctor as well most likely. He'll be looking for you, looking for signs of combat and magical girls. So you didn't stick around too long at the Camorra hideout. Instead, now you were back at Knives' hideout here in New York. You and Anneliese heft up the warehouse garage door, and allow Val and Knives to walk in nonchalantly. “Aw, thanks for opening the door, babe.” She slaps your bum, making you flinch.“Don't touch her!” yells Anneliese. She advances on Knives.“Oh, please, please.” Knives annoyingly holds up her hands in mock defense. “What, am I not allowed to touch such fine young girls like your little beau here?” Anneliese growls, her nose practically caressing Knives' own face. “Come on, you cannot tease me like that.” She gently pushes Anneliese away. “Calm yourself.”She slaps Knives' hand away. “You are treading on very thin ice!”“Now, now.” You step in between the two. “Look, Anneliese. Knives is hunting the Witch Doctor the same as we are. I know it's not the most orthodox thing, but we don't have many options. Operator #5 has no cure, Gatsby's cure is out of our reach, and #5's resources are stretched thin trying to track the Nazis over in Europe. He can't help us. I need her help now.”Anneliese squints at you. “What were you thinking? She could be trying to bomb us, or steal some of our secrets!”Knives rolls her eyes. “Yes, the secret of Liberty's relationship with that little Jap. What a secret.” She huffs, somewhat jealously. “I never knew Liberty had such deviant tastes.” She sighs deeply, a blush on her face. “It turns me on.”[1/2]
>>669091[2/2]“Do not EVER speak of Liberty like that!” Anneliese swears at Knives in German. “She is the most honorable of us all, and I will not have you ever soil her with your violent ways!”“Ooooh, calm down.” Knives leans closer to Anneliese, then nuzzles her nose very quick. Anneliese pulls back, stepping away in fright. “You are such a prude. It is the new decade, it is almost 1940. Yet you live as if it were 1860.”Anneliese huffs, storming away to one corner of the warehouse. “I will not waste more words on you, you little- little-...” Anneliese looks back. “Whore!” Anneliese sits down against the wall, hugging herself and glaring at the three of you.You sigh. You figured like this would happen. Knives places her hand on your shoulder. “You seem so stressed. You know, perhaps we could scratch each others backs. I happen to have a wig and some of Liberty's clothes, you could put that on, I could give you a comfort fuck.” You slap her away. “Okay, okay! I shall be in my office then if you wish to discuss things.” With that, Knives walks away, waving goodbye to you.Val stares at you. “I will just be here.”You roll your eyes.> Talk to Anneliese.> Visit Knives in her office.> Poke and prod at Val, see what you can learn about her.> Other

> Talk to Anneliese.“Anneliese?”Anneliese looks at you with the most incredulous expression. “How could you lower yourself to working with someone who's been trying to kill us for almost two years!?” You fold your arms. Yes, yes, this does look very bad. Honestly, you're not sure if Christine would do it. “I know what's happening to you is bad but...” She stands up, then grabs your arm and pulls your sleeve down, revealing the black which is spreading across. “Look at it! Y- you need someone other than her!”“Who then?” you ask. Anneliese is quiet, then looks away. “Anneliese, we're desperate. Please just trust me on this.”“It's hard to,” she says. “Especially with the way she's leering at us right now.” You and her look over at the overhanging offices to see Knives staring at you two from the window, She waves hello, grinning devilishly. “Listen, once we find the cure for your condition, we need to capture her, or kill her. Either or is fine with me, I'd prefer killing her.”“I agree,” you say. “But we have to focus on the cure now, not her.” She presses her lips together, obviously frustrated. “Anneliese, you're my best friend. Please just trust me on this. I can get myself cured, we throw Knives back to whatever home she has, boom, we're set. Christine won't even have to know.”“You're planning on keeping this a secret from her?”“Well-” You cough. “If she asks but... look. Knives is going to help us. We have a common enemy. Heck, maybe we'll get lucky and the Witch Doctor kills her. Either way, she's with us. Okay?”Anneliese glances away. Then slowly she nods. You smile at her. “So...” She looks at your arm again. “Does it hurt?”“Actually.” You hold it up. “I can't feel a thing in this arm.” She nods again, understanding. “I mean, it won't kill me but...”“Losing your powers?” You shrug. “That's scary. Rana, have you considered what would happen if you were to lose them?”“I'd rather not,” you say.“But what if you did?”> “I said I'd rather not.”> “Let's not talk about it.”> “Then I'm not a Magical Girl anymore. Not with that crazy Nazi around or the fact that you might be about to lose your powers, and probably the only thing that'll make you useful in life. You fold your arms, biting your lip. “Anneliese, let's just try and get some rest, okay?”Anneliese sighs, sitting down. “Fine.” She looks down into her knees. “But I am not going anywhere near Knives, understand?” Fair enough. You nod. “Things are so complicated now. I miss when things seemed so black and white. When you knew who the good guys were and the bad guys as well. Don't you miss that?”“My life was never like that to begin with,” you say. You sigh. “It was just me and Gatsby against the world.”“Must have been tough,” says Anneliese.“Eh, some days were worse than others.” You sit down next to Anneliese. “It probably wasn't as bad your life though.”“Being raised in poverty and having to scrounge for food and money most days of my life?” she asks. She shakes her head. “You had it worse.”“No, you,” you say. “I never had my parents to begin with, so there.”“Well, we'd have to sleep on hay and fight for coal to light our fires,” Anneliese bites back.… are you seriously arguing who had the worst childhood? You lean back against the wall.> “I'm going for a walk.”> “Maybe I can cook us some food.”> “Want me to make a bed for you, Annie?”> Other

> “Maybe I can cook us some food.”--Knives had a cooking pot on hand, and in the warehouse's kitchen, you decide on a nice simple soup with bits of pork thrown in would do nicely. You're not much of a cook, Christine is the better cook after all. Any cooking you do is just for the sake of food, not good food. That's what happens when you're raised on the street with little concept of luxury, except for guns. Gatsby really spoiled you on bringing you on all kinds of different guns. You remember your favorite being the Tommy Guns. Those were always the best. You swirl the soup with a ladle, sniffing it gently as it bubbles up and readies itself for consumption. It's brown, but with a quick whiff of it, it smells good. Probably a few more minutes though. Anneliese was busy laying out her room. She insisted she be around while you cook, but you warded her off. She must be afraid Knives might molest you if she leaves you alone. Thank goodness you're not Christine, for one second of your life. You take another look at blackening arm. You can't even begin to start passing this off as a skin condition now. This was starting to turn into full Jim Crow.“Hm, hm, hm...” Knives rests her head against your shoulder, making you freeze in place. “Something smells good.” She takes another whiff. “Soup smells nice as well.”“Um.” You tilt your head a little. “The soup isn't ready yet, s- so could you uh...” She immediately hugs you from behind, making you freeze even further. “Could you let go of me?”“Nein.” She giggles a little, then she nibbles at your ear a little. You shudder a bit, trying to pull away. “Awww, I am just teasing. Don't be so pushy.”“Please- just-” You try to pull her off. She's got you in a really tight death grip. “I will hurt you, you know!”“Oh, you'll hurt me,” she says. “That's cute.”> Punch her> Let it be. Wh-” Your heart starts pounding as she presses her hands up against the bottom of your breasts. “St- stop it!”“Mmmmm... Liberty does not know what she is missing.” Knives slobbers her tongue across your ear, making you twitch and quiver under her grasp. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HER!? “Unf... you are teasing me so much with this body, Bomber. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you wanted me.”“Th-... stop,” you whimper.“Hm, hm, say please,” she says as she squeezes your tit.“P... please,” you say.She snorts, then lets go. “There, that's all you had to say!” She paddles your butt with her hands for good measure. She snaps her fingers, then points to the door. “If you'll excuse me, I am going to freshen up for dinner. And I will be right with you.” She licks her lips. “You should consider wearing an apron, Bomber. -Only- the apron.” She quirks her eyebrows. “Toodles!” She speeds away.…You collapse to your knees. What the hell is wrong with her!?What the hell is wrong with you!? Why didn't you punch her!?That can't have felt good, did it!? Why would it feel good!?WHY ARE YOU ASKING SO MANY QUESTIONS!?“I see you've made new friends.” Your ears twitch. You turn around to see Gatsby sitting on the edge of the cooking pot, batting the ladle around. “Hello, Bomber. Sorry we got separated. But with the Witch Doctor and everything, I need to go into hiding temporarily.”You stand up, glaring at him. “... how long have you been here?”“Let's just say I was hoping she'd go a little further,” says Gatsby. “How are you?”“Fine.” You growl a little. “No thanks to you.”[1/2]
>>669706[2/2]“You took care of yourself anyway,” he says, tilting his head. “Why, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were doing quite well without me.” You roll your eyes, swatting him away from the pot. He hops onto the counter, looking up at you. “Bomber, Bomber, Bomber. Suddenly you leave, you're plucked from the streets, and now I find you being given the Christian choir boy treatment by Nazis.”“Look. Gatsby, if you got something to say.” You glare at him. “Say it. You know our days of working together are behind us. I'm not your Robin Hood robbing cars from the Mob or bombing rackets or slaying made men for you anymore. There are bigger things at stake.”Gatsby pats his paws against the counter. “I see, bigger things. That's fine, that's alright I suppose.” Hm, soup's ready anyway. You start pouring some out into bows for the girls. And yet still, you can tell Gatsby isn't satisfied by that answer.“Gatsby, what do you want?”He hops up. “Could it kill you to come back with me? To the streets? I do genuinely miss you,” he says. “And heck, New York could use a shake up like you with the mob and everything. Maybe you could even bomb a pro-nazi rally here and there.” You sigh. “Look, I love you, Bomber. It just isn't the same without you. We had such fun adventures you and I. > “Buzz off.”“Buzz off, Gatsby.” He quirks his ears up, then slowly hangs his head low. “Look. It's in the past. Were they fun? Yeah, most of the time. But it's no way for me to live anymore. I got purpose now, I have people who rely on me now, and I have people who love me too.”He blinks with all four of his eyes. “But I always loved you, Bomber.” Your heart sinks for a second. No, no, he's guilting you. Don't fall for it. “Was that not enough?”You frown. “Gatsby. I'm not gonna go back with you again. Not after the stuff I've been through.” You smile a little. “Though, maybe you can come with me instead?”“And associate myself with Kirby and his kind, as if.” He shakes his head, laying down on the counter. “I am a native, I love this world. I love humanity and its ability to create and innovate. I am not in it to help Magical Girls or defeat great evils. I just want to build like you and the rest of the humans do! And sometimes, that means we have to get rid of the unmentionable parts of humanity but... that is where we disagree.” He slaps his paw softly against the counter. “No, I will not stand Kirby and his kind.”“Well.” You place some bowls down on the table. “That's disappointing, Gatsby.”“It seems life has driven us apart,” he says. Maybe it has. No, it definitely has. “But rest assured, maybe I can convince you to come with me again.”“Yeah, maybe when I'm sixty,” you mutter.--All of you sit around the dinner table, with Gatsby hanging in the rafters looking down at you all. Val simply stares at her soup, watching the rest of you drink up and slurp up the pork and broth. Anneliese and Knives glare at each from across the table, continuing to eat.Boy, this is way less friendly than the dinners you're used to.“So.” You sigh. “Guys, I've been thinking. Tomorrow, I think we need to hit up the Speranzas. They have the Jewel, and they may have the Witch Doctor for back up but I think it's necessary that we strike first. Agreed?”Knives shrugs. “Sure. Agreed, -traitor?-”Anneliese squints her eyes at Knives. “Agreed.” The tension between the two is so thick you could cut it and have it for dessert. “Do you have a plan?”> “Sure! … let me very quickly come up with one.”> “No. I was open to suggestions.”> “Well, I mean, we don't have to plan it now.”> Other
>>669874> “Sure! … let me very quickly come up with one.”

If we can't agree on whether or not we have a plan, then we probably don't have a plan. Or maybe we do or we just think it's stupid, I dunno.
> “Sure! … let me very quickly come up with one.”“Sure!” You smile at them happily. “... it's just, I don't have one. But I'm open to suggestions while I come up with one!” You quickly hop up and bring on over a chalkboard. “Right, here's what we know. Don Speranza's got a lot of made men, they're not very competent, but they're loyal. Plus, he's bringing in even more muscle from Jersey. Which means a direct assault on his mansion is gonna result in a lot of needless deaths.”Knives tilts her head. “Needless deaths?”“We try not to kill people if we don't have to,” says Anneliese bitingly.“Waste of time, let's just get in there and kill them,” says Knives. “Or better yet, we could hold their family hostage, then torture and rape them until they give you the Jewel.” … yeah, you're not doing that.“Um, moving on.” You draw out another square. The Witch Doctor. “The Witch Doctor himself is going to be a force multiplier. Unfortunately, I don't think any of us really know how to kill him. Knives?” She shakes her head. “Gatsby?”Gatsby looks down at you all. “With the Jewel, perhaps we could just blast him with sheer magic power. But, that's not guaranteed to work. He is pure anti-magic.” Great. “Though.” You look up at him again. “Considering his pure anti-magic status, perhaps he may be susceptible to attacks which don't come from magical sources.”“But Bomber has been without her powers for days,” says Anneliese. “Surely she would've shown some damage.”“Not necessarily. Residual magic particles brush off from you all, it's like sand in a swimsuit,” says Gatsby. Ugh, he would know. “It gets everywhere, and you can never really get rid of it. My guess would be firepower in the form of guns. Real, non-magical powered guns, may be able to ward him away for a short time.”You nod slowly. “Well, okay. Thank you, Gatsby. Right. All in all, I predict at least fifty men to guard him in his mansion. Not to mention he'll have the local police bought out, so they can't help us. Which means again, we're on our own here.”Anneliese leans over. “So what do you want to do then.”“There are two ways of doing this, steathily, or loudly. We could just roll in and blast everything. Or we can try to sneak in, maybe disguise ourselves as honey traps, he really liked the look of me and Val after all.” Val looks up, attentive of her name being called. “We just throw on some new disguises and hope he doesn't recognize us.”Knives grins. “I do have the wig.” You're not wearing the wig.“It's up to you,” says Anneliese. “I would prefer the steathy option however.”> “We'll do it quietly.”> “We'll do it loudly.”> Other

What I'll do is step in, get into the Don's good graces, and from the inside, I will lower the defenses piece by piece. I'll unlock one of the back doors, you come in, storm the place, we take the Don hostage, boom we get the Jewel. Simple plan I think.” You rub your chest a bit, grinning proudly at yourself. “Wouldn't you say so?”Knives leans closer to you, grinning happily, a red blush on her cheeks. “I happen to have the perfect disguise. It happens to be a wig which closely resembles Liberty's hair, and clothing which she prefers to wear to the baseball games!” How would she know what Christine wears to the... no, nevermind. “The disguise will be impeccable, he will never see past you!”Anneliese leans back in her chair, staring at Knives. “She just wants you to put it on so she can ogle you looking like Lady Liberty.” Yeah, you guessed that.Knives breathes heavily. “Think about it. You do not have any other disguises do you!?”“I actually do.”“But what-”“I'd really rather not dress up as Liberty unless I seriously have to,” you say.Knives continues breathing heavily, her eye twitching as she takes out a rag and rubs her sweating forehead. “I think this is a situation where you must consider it.” What is- for goodness sake!> “Fine. Knives immediately stands up and runs out of the room, probably to get the stuff. “Right, lastly, if we're going in all normal and stuff, we're going to need some firepower.”Anneliese tilts her head. “Well, I still have access to my magic, no offense.” You shake your head. It's fine, honest. “What about you?”You look up at Gatsby. “Gatsby. I don't suppose you...”He drops down. He waves his paw, and out of it comes a tiny cloud of smoke. It floats up next to it, then starts twitching and quivering. It immediately expands, forming a magical gun locker. There, that's better. You open it up, revealing a vast array of weapons and armament for you to pick from. Anneliese looks in, her eyes widening at the sheer size of it all. It's really not that much, it's just about four or five hundred guns, lot of copies. People aren't very creative. You're going to need something small, so you choose a holdout pistol. You pull it out from a cabinet, then load it in with .25 ACP.> COLT MODEL 1908 VEST POCKET <> This particular pistol is barely as big as your hand. It'll go quite nicely on your thigh perhaps.Gatsby clears his throat. “Aren't you forgetting something?”“I only need the VP,” you say.Anneliese pokes her head in. “What else do you have in here?”“Hey, hey!” You push Anneliese back. “Don't stick your head in there.” You look up at Gatsby. “What else?”“Perhaps something to back up your VP?” asks Gatsby.“I'm fine,” you say. “I don't need an Obrez or anything.”“What's an Obrez?” asks Anneliese.“It's a sawn off Mosin-Nagant, and it's overkill. How would I hide it?” you ask Gatsby. He tilts his head, wagging his twin-tails a bit. “I dunno.” You sigh.Knives comes back, grinning madly. She pulls up a wig, almost as if she had just scalped Christine, and holds up some clothes on a hangar that closely resemble what Christine would most likely wear as well. “Have I told you how much you'd look like Liberty if you put this on?” You and Anneliese stare at her. “The only difference would be the bigger boobs, but I think that would be an improvement.”Oh jeez.
