My name is Danny O'Neil, and two days ago I murdered the Batman.

I'd spent months developing an armored suit, tricked out to look like the Bat's own. Meeting up with an old friend of mine, Blackie Jackson, I tried to kidnap Bruce Wayne, but Wayne split while we were distracted and Batman showed up. We got real lucky and managed to bring him down. After we found out who he was, things started to go south. We managed to break into his cave, take his equipment, and kill most of his little Bat-buddies, but last night the Justice League announced they were hunting Batman's killers- that is, us. To top it all off, my ex- no, my girlfriend, Rhiannon, is waiting for me to come home.

Our time is running out. Gotham's in flames, Batman's death has rocked the city. We're trying to muscle into the big leagues, but it's harder than we'd expected. If Blackie and I hope to make it out of this alive, we're going to need either a miracle or some big-time help.

Most recent update:

We're in the Penguin's Iceberg Lounge. We were given three jobs to complete, and we've only done one- acquire Bruce Wayne's fortune.

"We struck the Batman's hideout. The Robins are dead and we're near the point where we can do whatever we want. We're going to operate directly against Black Mask." Penguin nods. "But what about the money?" "We've gotten ahold of some of it, though we still need to handle Lucius Fox." Penguin grins. "Great. Do you have it with you?"

I adopt a grin of my own. "Our boss figures he can put the money to better use. He'll be keeping ahold of it, thank you. Unless you want the man who killed Batman after you." Penguin scowls, but concedes. "Look, I'll make a trade. You can keep Wayne's cash, however much you get. But killing Batman be damned- if you don't kill Black Mask and get my things from Catwoman, my crew will be moving on you and your boss as well. Understand?" I give him a bitter laugh, but agree that the jobs are still open. "We'll be seeing you, Penguin."

Back at the warehouse, Blackie works on improving his equipment while I search through the suit's functionality. The JUSTICE protocols required a password, but it wasn't difficult to engineer a reverse-remote control to unlock functions of the computer from the suit. I press the button on the glove and it gives me a screen within the cowl's eyepiece- a comprehensive list of the Justice League's attributes.

It happens to include their real names.

"Blackie, look at this," I say, displaying it on the wall with the suit's projection. "I don't know any of these names," he grunts, and I don't either. Clark Kent is apparently a reporter in Metropolis, but he's also Superman? It almost seems like a strange joke. Hal Jordan, ex-fighter pilot, is the Green Lantern? It's a lot of information and I don't know what to do with it all.

Then I look over at Blackie, and he's taking notes. "This is where it starts," he says. "We know who they are. We know what will hurt them. And once they're out of the way, what's left?" I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach, so I step outside for a minute to get some air.

I feel like doing something different, as the sun pulls overhead. We have all this information, and I need to do something with it. That, or I could take on Black Mask or perhaps Catwoman. I also remember Joker's message on the TV, and realize he's in this city with us, too, somewhere.

I suggest this (but don't take me for it, let's wait to see what anyone else has to say):
Let's focus on Black Mask while Blackie tracks down Catwoman's whereabouts.
Don't move in on the league just yet, wait for the right time.

Man just thinking about all the shit we've gotta do...
>track down Catwoman
>take down Blackmask
>get the cash from Fox
>defeat Joker
>clean up the rest of the Batfamily
>survive the Justice League
>survive ZombieBatman
>clean up Gotham

We should distribute this information. This should keep the justice league off our backs for a bit while they secure their family and friends from people who would want to kill them as retribution.

This will get us time to do our jobs and strengthen our position.

We need to worry about the consequences of killing the heros a bit more. What of the greater evils that are guarded against us by the league?
Such as Darkseid

It's so amazing that the choice of killing Bats or not was 2 seconds apart. Two seconds led to everything going to shit.
>>
>>71390
That's a good point

>>71646
Yeah it went
unmask 2
unmask 2
kill 1
unmask 1 (just two seconds later)
It was funny.

Rolled 3 (1d10)

We need to get black mask under control, we need their weapons, and we need the penguin to cooperate.
>I'm really glad this thread is back. Thanks OP.

then we should be respectful with the league. tell them that it wasn't in our plan to kill bat or something like that, but that we still can make things nasty if they try to come for us; maybe by addressing every justice league member by their first letter of their secret identity?

Let's just kill every criminal in Gotham before we get shanked.

What we need, is something to level the playing field. Right now, if any cape comes for us, we're dead. So what we need is a tech-based hero or villain, ascertain their location and civilian identity, and take them out. My first thought is someone like the Mad Hatter. We could maybe take out Scarecrow if we could get the drop on him. He's just one man. We shank the spooky bastard, take his gas then let the world know that Batman and Scarecrow are working together. Think about how easy it would be to rob a bank, say, wearing a gas mask and flooding the place with fear gas.
We take down those two, then we take out Freeze. Before too long we have our very own Injustice League.

One man league? Or arm people with it?
>>
>>95796
Arm our hoodlum pals. You can't have a league with one guy, ya mook. Of course, we keep all the best gear, in case some wise guy gets any bright ideas...

Ok, well here's my next recommendation. Do we have any short guys in our crew? They're always angry. Willing to go that extra mile when it comes to bringing the pain - only they gotta use knives or guns or whatever just to make up the difference. Always got somethin' to prove.

So what we do, we get some of that Venom, see? We get the little bastard doped up to his eyeballs and BOOM! instant muscle. There's gotta be somewhere we can get that on the streets.

Sure, Bane is meant to be some kinda egghead under all them 'roids, but we don't step on his toes and he'll leave us alone. Besides, our furious manlet is gonna tear shit up. That's what we need - an angry little bastard who can tear guys in half. We're the brains of this operation. We can call him Fistula or Hammeroid or somethin'.

Oh, and maybe give him a medical mask like the gooks wear as part of his gimmick.

Can threads be bumped away from extinction on this board, I wonder?
