>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-two year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

After making a quick stop to your room and putting on your space suit (which Bulma made to match her own), you leave the Briefs household, going outside to find your wife standing in front of the large spaceship she and your father-in-law constructed.

Its round shape reminds you a bit of the Saiyan pods that were studied to build this vessel, but that's about as far as the similarities go. While the pods used by the Saiyans were only large enough to accommodate a single passenger, this one has plenty of room for several people. You haven't been given a tour yet due to your training, but knowing your wife, precautions have been taken to make it at least somewhat comfortable. Its exterior is properly decorated to mark it as a piece of Capsule Corp equipment, and rather than crashing into the ground like a meteor, this ship has been given legs to let it land properly.

"Not a bad look for you," Bulma remarks as she watches you approach. "Do I do good work, or what?"

"You're a genius," you compliment, earning a pleased smile from your wife.

"I know," she tells you with humor and pride in her voice.

"So, who's going to be coming with us?" you ask, stopping in front of her.

She turns and looks toward the sky. "Well, Goku's still recovering, so he won't be coming right away. And Chichi didn't want to leave her daughter. I guess that just leaves Kori and Yamcha."

You're a bit surprised that Suno's letting her daughter go off on a dangerous mission like this, but Goku probably talked her into it. Yamcha coming along doesn't surprise you in the least, and given how he performed against Piccolo in the last battle, he could be very useful to have around.

"How fast can this thing get us to Namek?" you ask, staring at the vessel.

Your wife turns to face the ship. "Well, as far as we can tell, we'll reach Namek in about two weeks."

That's not bad at all. "And how high can the gravity machine go?"

"Well, since we were mostly focusing on reverse-engineering the Saiyan ships, we didn't have as much time to put into the gravity chamber as we might have wanted," she admits. "But, we managed to get it as high as fifty times gravity, and dad thinks that when he makes more ships like this, he can push it all the way up to one hundred times gravity."

"Fifty times is plenty for two weeks of training," you tell Bulma. "Good work."

"Well, what did you expect?" she teases, a pleased expression on her face. She's not as vain as she was when you first met her, but she still loves compliments.

"So," you ask. "When are the others going to get here?"

"They should be here any minute," Bulma answers. "I told them that we'd have to leave as soon as possible if we wanted to catch up with Piccolo. His ship's at least three centuries old, so it shouldn't be too hard for us to get there first, but I don't want to take too many chances."

"Tofoo, Bulma!" a voice shouts from above.

Looking up, you spot Yamcha descending from the sky. He's clad in his Turtle School uniform, and carrying a single duffel which you presume contains extra clothes and the like.

"Am I late?" he asks, landing in front of the two of you.

"No, you're just in time," Bulma tells him, sounding slightly annoyed. "We just need to wait for Kori, and then we can go."

"Kori's coming?" Yamcha asks, sounding surprised. "I thought she'd be staying here, or at least coming later with Goku."

Bulma shrugs. "She really wanted to come along for the trip. I don't know why, but we're going to need all the help we can get once we reach Namek."

Yamcha nods. "Right. So, how long-"

"Two weeks," Bulma cuts him off. "There's a gravity chamber set up in there so you can all train, or whatever."

"Right," Yamcha blinks. "Thanks."

"So, you're going along?" Lazuli asks, making her way across the lawn to stand in front of your group.

Yamcha gives her a nod. "Yeah, I wanna do whatever I can to help bring back the others."

Lazuli crosses her arms, fixing him with a serious look. "Well, try not to get yourself killed playing hero."

"Of course," he tells her. "If I did that, I wouldn't get to see your pretty face again."

Lazuli rolls her eyes. "Right."

She turns back toward Yamcha, her normally serious demeanor being replaced by a softer expression, one that seems almost fondness.

"Be careful," she instructs him.

Yamcha seems taken aback, but pleased. He gives the blonde a smile, and promises her that he'll be careful.

"Hey!" another voice shouts from above.

Kori lands in front of the group, clad in the Saiyan armor she wore in the battle a few weeks ago. She carries a small bag on her back, and wears an eager expression on her face.

Bulma shakes her head, letting out a fond sigh. "Goku..."

"All set for the trip?" Yamcha asks. "Did your mom pack everything you need?"

Kori nods. "Yeah, I have clothes and snacks all packed."

"There's plenty of food on the ship," Bulma tells her.

>>

It's either they die trying to learn it or waste our time teaching them something that took Goku and Piccolo more than 6 months or so to learn from King Kai and control. Fix'd that for you. Just because they had the same training as us with Kami does not mean they can learn the Kaio Ken quickly like we could, not to mention compared to them we've had a bigger history with playing with ki than they have.

"Suno's cooking is fantastic," you tell Bulma. "I don't blame Kori for wanting to bring some."

"The food on the ship's great," Bulma promises. "But, alright. Is everyone ready to go?"

"I am," you answer.

"Yeah, let's do this," Yamcha agrees.

The four of you bid Lazuli farewell, and Bulma lowers the ramp, allowing you access to the ship. As the four of you step inside, you find yourselves in a large red-floored room, empty save for a machine in the center that you recognize as a gravity device.

"So, this machine will let you adjust the gravity in this room," Bulma explains to the others as the ship entrance closes. "It can go up to fifty times gravity, but you guys will probably want to start a little lower."

She crosses the room, opening a panel on the far wall and pressing a large button. You hear a hiss, and see that a section of the floor has opened to reveal a ladder to some lower level.

"Bedrooms and kitchen are down there," Bulma explains. "When you're using this chamber, make sure that this is closed off so the rest of the ship isn't effected by the gravity change."

"Alright," Yamcha tells her. "So, should we get this show on the road?"

"Alright," Bulma agrees, approaching the center console and entering some commands. "You guys might want to find something to hold onto."

She grips a handle on the console, and presses a button. You're thrown to the floor as the ship blasts off, setting a course for Planet Namek.

Bulma steps back from the console, looking down at the three of you. "Well, we're off. If anybody needs me, I'll be downstairs."

She picks up the bags and makes her way to the ladder, climbing down and sealing the hatch behind her.

For a few moments, there's silence.

"Well," Yamcha speaks up. "We should start training. If we run into Piccolo again, we're going to have to be ready."

The machine can go up to fifty times the gravity of Earth. You'd love to reach that level as quickly as possible, but Yamcha and Kori are going to need to catch up, and going too heavy on the gravity right away could seriously hamper their ability to do so, especially with no Senzu Beans.

You move to the center of the room, activating the console and setting it to ten times the gravity of Earth. The change becomes apparent immediately, but given your training, you're more than prepared to deal with it. Yamcha, on the other hand, is floored, and Kori seems to be having a bit of trouble keeping on her feet.

"Man....this is crazy," Yamcha comments as he struggles back to his feet. "This is the kind of training you've been doing?"

Kori begins to slowly move around the room, letting her body adjust to the changes before she does anything too strenuous. Looks like Goku taught her some good habits.

"Yeah," you answer. "This is the kind of training I did for the Saiyans."

While the two of them catch up, you decide that some basic training would probably be best. So, as Yamcha and Kori get their bearings with the enhanced gravity, you zip around the room, throwing punches and kicks to make sure your body is all warmed up when the time comes for more intense training.

Kori seems comfortable with the gravity after a few hours, but Yamcha needs the full day to become acclimated to the change. By that time, you've trained yourself to exhaustion, despite being used to the gravity. The three of you deactivate the machine, and head downstairs.

Kori rushes for the kitchen, opening the fridge and pulling out a plethora of delicious-looking food. As she rushes for the table with her meal, Yamcha heads for the fridge himself.

"So, how's it go?" you hear your wife ask.

Turning, you find Bulma standing in the doorway to one of the bedrooms, wearing only underwear. She holds a soda in her right hand, and wears a somewhat bored expression on her face.

"Any reason you're in your underwear?" you ask your wife.

"Because it's more comfortable than my space suit, especially if I'm just lounging around," she answers, gulping down the last of her soda and tossing the can aside. "Don't tell me you have a problem with the view."

She gives a flirtatious wink, then looks toward the kitchen. "So, how did your training go?"

"Pretty well," you tell her. "Kori and Yamcha are catching up fast."

"I'll train my hardest," you promise.

"Good," she tells you. "Then I'm sure we'll be fine. Now, go get something to eat, and take a bath. I could smell you before you even got down the ladder."

As Bulma returns to the room that the two of you will be sharing, you go to get something to eat, enjoying a nice dinner with Kori and Yamcha. The two of them seem eager to continue their training, which you take as a good sign.

Over the next two weeks, you throw yourself completely into your training, increasing the gravity as fast as you can, and pushing your body to its limits, and beyond. Kori and Yamcha both impress you with how well they're able to keep up, and soon, they surpass the strength you had on Earth. By the time two weeks have come and gone, your power has more than doubled. You haven't reached Vegeta's level of power, but you're stronger than Piccolo was without the Kaio-Ken. You feel ready to face the Namekian.

"Alright, we'll be landing in just a few minutes," Bulma announces, deactivating the gravity machine as she climbs the ladder. "Get ready."

Kori and Yamcha nod confidently, and you can understand their lack of fear. Each of them are stronger than Nappa, and at least rival the strength Piccolo held back on Earth. It seems that the three of you will be more than prepared to deal with whatever you face.

At this point, you've gone from wearing your space-suit to simply using your gi. Bulma, however, doesn't seem to have packed many different outfits, which is odd for her.

The ship soon begins its decent, touching the ground only a few seconds later.

"Alright, now let me just take some readings on the planet's atmosphere..." Bulma says, setting down a small device.

Not listening, Yamcha and Kori lower the ramp and step out of the ship without any sort of spacesuits.

As the other two fighters exit the ship, you stay with your wife, who continues to try and get an atmospheric reading. A smile soon comes to her face, and she announces that it's perfectly safe to be outside without a suit.

However, when she rises and finds that both Yamcha and Kori are already outside, she looks like she's about to have an aneurysm. The next thing you know, she storms out of the ship, walking up behind Yamcha and Kori, and screaming at them.

"DO YOU TWO HAVE ONE BRAIN CELL BETWEEN YOU?!" she demands.

"What's the big deal, Bulma?" Yamcha asks. "It's safe."

"Yeah, but you two didn't know that," Bulma snaps.

"We do now," Kori points out helpfully.

Bulma groans, holding her head as you step out of the ship.

The landscape reminds you a bit of the place where you confronted Vegeta and Nappa back on Earth. There's rolling hills and mountains dotting the landscape, as well as the scattered tree. What strikes you as odd is that the foliage here appears to be mostly blue, as opposed to the green back on Earth. Water seems to cover significant portions of the planet as well, and you wonder what exactly made this place so inhospitable for Namekians.

"Look, we're here, so let's get this over with," Yamcha tells Bulma.

Sighing, Bulma pulls out the Dragon Radar, a look of surprise appearing on her face which quickly morphs into worry.

"Look," she says, showing the rest of you the screen. "Four Dragonballs already gathered in one spot."

"Do you think Piccolo's already started gathering them?" Yamcha asks.

As if the universe itself was attempting to answer his question, you spot an odd-looking ship descending in the distance.

"Is that Piccolo?" Bulma asks.

"Then who's been gathering the Dragonballs?" Yamcha asks.

"Looks like we might have some extra competition," you tell the others.

"Oh, relax," Bulma tells you. "I'm sure it's just the Namekians. I'm sure they need to make wishes sometimes, too."

"I hope you're right," Yamcha tells her. "Piccolo's bad enough, we don't need anybody else."

"Bulma, capsulize the ship," you instruct. "We don't want Piccolo finding it."

"Right," Bulma says, reducing the ship to capsule form.

"Everyone else, hide your power," you tell everyone.

Yamcha and Kori nod, suppressing their energy. Looking around, you spot a cave, and decide to take shelter there. The four of you quickly move toward the mouth of the cave, but you and the other fighters pause just before stepping inside.

"What is it?" Bulma asks, turning around and giving the three of you puzzled looks.

You focus, feeling a large source of energy approaching your location. Your first instinct tells you that it's Piccolo, but you quickly realize that's untrue, as you are able to feel many different powers speeding toward you.

"Get in the cave!" Yamcha shouts, and the four of you rush inside, hugging the walls as the powers shoot by.

The energy is dark, but not demonic like Piccolo's. It's a different sort of evil, but one that chills you just as much. Each one of the powers you sense are greater than Raditz, and three are far stronger than even Vegeta.

But, the largest of all terrifies you. It's a power unlike anything you've ever felt, or even imagined could possible exist. Compared to this power, even the Great Ape Vegeta seems as harmless as a sleeping kitten.

You feel yourself shaking as the strangers vanish into the distance, and your eyes widen as you realize that you saw two of them carrying large, round objects with stars on them.

The Dragonballs.

"You guys felt that, right?" Yamcha gulps.

You nod.

"W-who do you think they were?" Bulma asks.

"Yamcha, Kori, did you guys feel those three people in the middle?" you ask.

Kori nods, looking frightened, while Yamcha looks ready to throw up.

"Yeah, all three of them were stronger than Vegeta," Yamcha says. "But that one in the middle....he felt like dozens of Vegetas, and I get the feeling that's only the tip of the iceberg."

"So then, what are we going to do?" Bulma asks. "If they're that strong, there's no way you can beat them."

"Bulma, which way is the nearest ball that those guys aren't heading for?" you ask your wife.

She points into the distance, and you resolve to go there in search of a Dragonball. You tell the others that the three of you will just have to head in that direction; if you can get at least one Dragonball and keep it hidden, those guys can't make their wish.

"Alright," Yamcha agrees. "But then what? It's not like we can take those goons by ourselves, not when they're all together."

"Bulma, go in the cave and call your father," you instruct. "We need Goku."

Nodding, Bulma hands you the Dragon Radar before rushing into the cave to make contact with Earth. You're left with the other two warriors, and in a very dangerous situation.

The three of you take off, moving toward the Dragonball with all of the speed that you possess. Piccolo can probably sense your energy, and if the creeps that just passed you can sense energy as well, you may have just doomed yourselves.

No turning back now, the three of you move as fast as you can, though you're forced to slow down a bit so that Yamcha and Kori can keep up with you. Piccolo can certainly feel your energy now, and so can those goons if they have a way to do the same.

And, sure enough, before you're even half way to the ball, you feel a massive power heading in your direction. It's coming from the area where the strangers stopped, and its power outclasses even Vegeta's.

The three of you stop, looking in the direction of the strange power.

"Oh man, they know we're here...." Yamcha says with terror. "What are we going to do?"

Splitting up is clearly suicide; Piccolo will just hunt you down and pick you off one by one if you don't stick together. But, that doesn't matter if you can't even survive against whoever's coming.

There's only one of them, but their power is incredible, noticeably superior to even Vegeta. Even with the Kaio-Ken, your power won't quite be able to match his. Still, with Kori and Yamcha here to help you, there's still a chance.

"Hide your powers and take cover," you instruct to the others. "Get ready to make a sneak attack if you have to."

"Right," Yamcha says, nodding and descending.

Kori seems a bit reluctant, but does what she's told anyway.

As they hide themselves, the power quickly approaches, though it's taking longer to reach you than you might expect. You ready yourself, quite aware that this could be your last battle. If you die now, Earth's Dragonballs won't be able to bring you back, and with you dead, the already desperate situation on this world might turn into an impossible quest.

You'll just have to make sure that you don't die.

Finally, your foe reveals himself.

He's an alien, and looks it much more than Vegeta or Nappa did.

He's massive, both in height, and in weight, as his round body makes quite evident. His skin is pink, his head is bald, and there are odd spikes covering various parts of him. But, what really surprises you is the Saiyan battle armor on his body, and the scouter on his face.

"What's this?" he demands, stopping in front of you. "Just one? The scouter said there were two more. So, where are your friends?"

"We'll just see about that," the alien responds. "See, I'm supposed to kill all three of you; so I'll just tear through you like paper, then reduce this whole place to ashes. Wherever your friends are hiding, I'll make sure they're taken care of."

He smirks. "Of course, I'm supposed to find out who you are, first. So, I get to have some fun beating information out of you."

He cracks his knuckles, a sadistic look on his face as he readies himself to follow through on his threat.

"And who are you?" you ask him. "You don't look like a Namekian, or a Saiyan, even with that armor on."

The alien's eyes go wide. "Saiyan? You know the Saiyans?"

He thinks something over for a minute, then begins to chuckle. "You're from Earth, aren't you? You met Vegeta and Nappa!"

He begins to loudly laugh. "Finally! This
We need to know.
>>
>>698571
Solar flare + point blank kienzan is our go-to opening move, i think.
It's super effective against living things that need their bodies to be in one piece.
>>
>>698578
actually, could we just apply the concept of the kienzan and create a ki sword for melee combat?
>>
>>698578
I don't think you know the Kienzan

I remember something about trying to use it once and failing or something.
Either way, we've seen it plenty, we're the king of ki-control and it's not exactly a complex move.

I don't want Kaguyas ki sword, I want Blacks!

Moves we know:
Kaioken (x2 ki power for short periods of time)
Flying
Detect Ki
Suppress Ki
Detect enemy by sound and air vibrations

Light Shot (controllable ball of ki)
Shocking fist (stuns on melee)
Bear claw (lot of damage on melee)
Kamehameha (slow charging powerful ki wave)
Bear shout (medium charging but less powerful ki wave, often surprises enemies)
Wolf Fang Fist (melee combo, very ki efficient but not as damaging as bear claw)
Eight Arms technique (melee buff relying on speed)
Solar Flare (crane school blinding technique)

Moves we know:
Kaioken (x2 ki power for short periods of time)
Flying
Detect Ki
Suppress Ki
Detect enemy by sound and air vibrations
Ki Shield (takes a lot of Ki to use, but can tank hits that would otherwise kill us)

Light Shot (controllable ball of ki)
Light Lightning Shot (controllable ball of ki, also stuns on hit)
Shocking fist (stuns on melee)
Bear claw (lot of damage on melee)
Kamehameha (slow charging powerful ki wave)

Wolf Fang Fist (melee combo, very ki efficient but not as damaging as bear claw)
Eight Arms technique (melee buff relying on speed)
Solar Flare (crane school blinding technique)
Power Geyser (melee combo, hard to land, but deals a lot of damage)
Explosive wave (Huge waste of ki, but pretty much always hits)

"How do you know Vegeta?" you ask. "Who are you?"

"You really don't know anything, do you runt?" the alien asks. "I guess Vegeta was so confident that he was going to become immortal, so he didn't bother telling you he had a boss. I knew him because he worked for Lord Freeza, same as me. I'm Dodoria, one of Lord Freeza's top men."

"And why are you and your friends here?" you ask.

"The same reason as you, I bet," Dodoria tells you. "The Dragonballs. You wouldn't happen to have found any, would you?"

You don't answer.

Dodoria chuckles. "Well then, I guess it's time I start beating information out of you."

This powerful new enemy has you in his sights, and now you know that he's only a servant of a much more powerful being. This battle could be your last, and even if you survive, will you and your friends be able to stand against this "Lord Freeza"? Find out next time, on Dragonball Quest!

>>698759

>>698761

>>
>>698756
Ki is the energy of the body as well as one's own life force.
He's just old, he doesn't have the energy to make a new egg.

If we dump our significant power into him, he'll be stronger than he likely ever was at his peak, at least for the short time it'll take to rebirth himself.
>>
>>698760
Fusing with peaceful villagers won't give him the same gains as it would with fusing with Nail, the last remaining actual Namekian warrior. He basically shot up to 1 million from a wrecked Nail.

The reason kaioken puts a strain on your body is because of ki control right?
If we obtain perfect ki control we should be able to hold the kaioken a lot longer because of it not putting strain on our body
There are also moves like the tri beam that lets us hit way above our weight class
That is also assuming goku will go super sayian

So how does everyone feel about Tofoo's chances of making it to see Black?
I'd say it's about as likely as Sei's chances of having a successful relationship
>>
>>699571
If we can make it to the Cell saga I'd say pretty good, even though I don't think we could do much to Cell himself and the Cell jr. Could probably kill us. Only thing after that is Buu, but we still need 6 saiyans for the SSG ritual in order for Beerus to show up.

I think Sei can have a successful relationship with one of the girls provided we all don't die. They just need some down time and for the army to be gone, and not have an immediate threat looming over their heads. Who do you want Sei to pursue NTFS?
>>
>>699582
The cell saga is a good point to reach, and is also the last time a human does something noteworthy, that being Tien with the Tri-Beam.
Anyone but Mauya
>>
>>699589
If Kori gets into a beam clash with Cell while Goku is telling her to go all out, I pray Tofoo pulls a Vegeta and hits him with all he has just for that momentary distraction, just like we did to Piccolo with Yamcha and Tien. I can agree I don't care much for Mauya so far I'm a bigger fan of Sansha and Lantana.
>>
>>699600
As it is, Tofoo doesn't care about interfering in a fight so long as he's sure he can end it.
Pretty sure Lantana has the biggest fanbase anyway, which is fair as it'd end in banging the avatar
>>
>>699608
Well Lantana does like us the most currently it is certainly doable, the only problem is she needs a lot of time so she can master all the elements. We can bide our time with rock puns, my favorite thing about her is that she actually laughs at them.

Last time, on Dragonball Quest, Tofoo, Bulma, Yamcha, and Kori blasted off for the Planet Namek, spending the two week voyage training under the intense conditions of fifty times normal gravity. By the time they arrived, each had grown far stronger than they were on Earth, and felt confident that Piccolo would no longer be a threat. However, you quickly realized that Piccolo wasn't the only foe on the planet, as mysterious forces had already gathered four of the Dragonballs. While Bulma rushed to make contact with Earth, you lead the others in search of one of the other balls, quickly drawing the attention of Dodoria, the powerful servant of the mysterious Lord Freeza. The fury of Freeza's enforcer is unleashed, today!

>>Good luck, anons

The sound of howling wind fills your ears, as the massive alien before you readies himself to attack. The energy he's putting out is horrifying, and even with the power of the Kaio-Ken, you don't think you'll quite be able to match it.

His demeanor displays nothing but the utmost confidence, and given his incredible strength, you can hardly blame him. Every fiber of your being has tensed up in anticipation of what is certain to be a brutal conflict, and you silently accept the fact that you may not be walking away from this one.

"Well, which bone should I break first?" Dodoria inquires, slowly moving toward you.

Your power skyrockets, doubling in an instant, and setting off Dodoria's scouter, which beeps frantically as it registers the increase in your strength.

"What in the world?" he asks, sweat dripping down his head as he views the new reading. "Twenty-thousand?!"

You open your mouth, roaring and unleashing a Bear Shout which quickly shoots across to your foe, striking him in the face and vaporizing his scouter. The impact of the blast also pushes him back a bit, and you hear a surprised shout with a twinge of pain making itself heard.

As Dodoria falls back in disoriented surprise, you lift your hand above your head, focusing your energy into a ball of light, which slowly flattens and morphs into the shape of a disk. You take a moment to sharpen the energy, and think of Krillin and Chichi as you ready yourself to strike.

"Kien-"

Before you can finish, a wave of light shoots from Dodoria's mouth, quickly closing the distance between you and striking you full-force. You cry out in pain and surprise, the intense blast throwing you back, and leaving you vulnerable as Dodoria comes charging, his fist slamming into your face, and his elbow slamming into your gut, sending you plummeting into the water below.

You sink like a stone, hitting the bottom and looking up to see multiple lights descending toward you.

As the blasts from Dodoria rain down from above, you desperately attempt to swim out of the way, moving with all of your speed as the energy attacks break through the surface, descending to the ocean floor and exploding, sending you tumbling through the water. More and more waves of energy come down, and you find yourself continuously thrown around by the blasts as you struggle to gain some distance. Your lungs soon feel ready to explode, and you desperately swim to the surface, gasping in air as fast as you can.

"There you are!" Dodoria shouts from above, charging down toward you.

You prepare to retreat back underwater, but Dodoria never reaches you. Instead, Kori blindsides the alien with a kick to the face, sending him flying off-course, and allowing Yamcha to strike from above, sending the monster plummeting into the water with a massive splash.

Letting the Kaio-Ken go to avoid damage to your body, you rise from the water, floating beside Kori and watching as Dodoria picks himself up from the water, crawling onto land.

"Run!" you shout to the others.

"Right!" Yamcha shouts, speeding in your direction."Come on, Kori!"

The half-saiyan quickly speeds off after the other warrior, and you turn around, joining them in retreating toward the Dragonball. If you can just shake Dodoria, he shouldn't be able to track you down again without his scouter.

"You little punks!" you hear the alien shout from behind you. "I'm gonna rip you to pieces!"

Glancing over your shoulder, you spot Dodoria exploding into the air, pursuing you with a look of pure fury on his face.

The three of you push yourselves to move faster, desperately trying to keep ahead of your pursuer, who seems to be quickly gaining. Still, for how strong he is, it's taking him a surprising amount of time to close the gap between him and you.

"You runts aren't going anywhere!" he declares, thrusting a hand toward you and your friends.

A beam of light shoots forward, heading for you and the others.

"Oh, man!" Yamcha shouts, diving down after her and scooping her into his arms, continuing to flee along with you as Dodoria continues to close in.

"Yamcha, I'm gonna use the Solar Flare," you warn.

The other warrior nods, looking forward and telling Kori to do the same. You slow down, letting them get ahead of you as you turn to face Dodoria.

The alien's lips curl upward into a grin as he quickly reaches you. Meanwhile, you lift your hands in front of your face, and let out a yell.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

Just before Dodoria can strike, a blinding flash of light strikes his eyes, and he cries out in pain, his hands quickly coming up to his face as he writhes around in pain, howling into the sky.

"MY EYES! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY EYES?!" he cries out. "DAMN YOU!"

The rampaging alien is completely disoriented, giving you the perfect opportunity to strike.

Lifting your hand above your head, you create a thin, sharp disk of energy, and pull your arm back, preparing to throw it.

"KIENZAN!" you shout, hurling the disk at your enemy.

Dodoria never even sees it coming, and the disk hits its mark, slicing through his fat body and splitting him in half. The alien lets out a shocked cry as the attack reaches him, then falls silent as his body descends from the sky, splashing into the water below.

"Nice work," Yamcha says, coming up beside you.

Kori comes to your other side, looking down into the water. She looks down at the sinking body almost regretfully, which strikes you as a bit odd.

Before you can ask her about it, you feel a dark power rushing in your direction. It's different from Dodoria or the other powers you felt with him, and you recognize it at once.

"Is that who I think it is?" Yamcha asks, glancing over at you as the power quickly draws closer.

You nod, keeping your eyes locked on the horizon as you prepare yourself for the arrival of the Demon King. At your side, Kori readies herself for a battle, clearly unafraid of the demon after the beating she gave him in their last battle. Her confidence is admirable, but you hope she doesn't get carried away.

"Alright, well, we were expecting this to happen sooner or later," Yamcha points out, readying himself as well.

Moments later, Piccolo appears before you, speeding in like a comet and stopping just a few feet ahead of you and the others. A smirk is clearly visible on his face as his eyes move between the three of you.

"Well, this is a surprise," he comments. "I didn't think that you'd reach this planet so fast without Kami's ship. I guess you humans are a bit smarter than I gave you credit for."

His smirk widens. "But, if you came all the way here thinking you could stop me, you can't be too smart."

"Look, I think we should work together against Freeza," you tell Piccolo. "I know you felt his power. Both of us would shatter like glass against him."

Piccolo chuckles. "Yeah, I felt his power. But none of that will matter. None of these idiots can sense energy without their devices, which means that I can catch them off-guard, and swipe the Dragonballs right out from under their noses."

His eyes shift down to your uniform. "Of course, that'll be easier with a little help. I'll give you one chance; hand over that radar your wife made, and I'll let you leave this planet. You can go home, spend some time with your loved ones, at least until I get back."

>It isn't beyond reason that we could still be friends, piccolo. Despite everything, i don't hate you, and i still don't want you to die.

"I'm sorry," you tell him sincerely. "I only did what I had to do when I fought you and your father. Killing you was an accident, I messed up. But, I'm willing to let go of the past if you are. We can't afford to waste our time fighting each other, especially when we'd make a strong team."

Piccolo studies you for a moment, considering your words. Whether due to believing your wishes to bury the past, or simply due to pragmatism, he eventually nods.

"You three go find a Dragonball," he instructs. "As long as we keep one out of Freeza's hands, he can't make his wish."

"And what are you going to do?" Yamcha asks him.

Piccolo looks in the direction of Freeza's energy. As you do the same, you notice that many of the powers in that area have vanished, leaving only the strongest, Freeza, alone. You can feel a power somewhere below Nappa's level flying off in one direction, and one of the larger powers flying in another.

"I'm going after Freeza's lackeys," he declares.

Dodoria has been dealt with, and Freeza's forces have split up. With Piccolo on your side, your group now stands a far better chance at surviving. But, do you have a prayer of defeating Freeza and his insidious minions? Find out next time, on Dragonball Quest

At that point it would be 100% strength/ki training to get stronger, since learning a technique would take one or two tries unless it was ki-based, but then we could just wish for perfect ki control too.

Last time on Dragonball Quest, you faced off against Freeza's mighty enforcer, Dodoria. A surprise-attack allowed you to destroy the other fighter's scouter, but he quickly fought back, gaining the upper hand. The intervention of Yamcha and Kori saved you from death, and after a dangerous pursuit, you managed to catch Dodoria off-guard, blinding him with the Solar Flare and cutting him in half with the Kienzan. But, troubles were far from over, as Piccolo made his appearance, and it seemed that you and your friends might have run out of luck. However, some well-chosen words from Tofoo convinced Piccolo that an alliance would serve everyone best, and the demon now goes to deal with Freeza's remaining servants while you and the others search for Dragonballs. But, will this partnership be enough to stop Freeza and his insidious minions? Find out, today!

>>Good luck, anons

Piccolo vanishes in the distance, his energy still broadcasting loud and clear as he speeds toward another of Freeza's servants. You let out a relieved sigh, letting the Kaio-Ken drop as your potential killer moves to turn his aggression on a mutual enemy.

"Are you sure we can trust him?" Yamcha asks once he's sure Piccolo's out of earshot. "Last time he was supposed to be on our side, he tried to kill us all!"

"He hurt my dad," Kori adds.

"We don't have a choice other than to trust him," you tell Yamcha. "But, things are different now. I'm confident that he's on our side."

"I hope you're right," Yamcha tells you. "I don't want to end up getting stabbed in the back later."

"We're supposed to find a Dragonball, right?" Kori asks, changing the subject.

"Right," you tell her, leading the way in following the radar toward the nearest ball.

The trip doesn't take all that long when there's no need to hide your energy, and soon enough, you find what you're looking for.

Below you is a village; with a dozen or so Namekians milling about. Some tend to saplings, while others seem to be happily conversing with one another. It looks like a peaceful place, and you wonder if they even know what kind of monsters have arrived on their world.

"That's a lot of Piccolo's," Kori comments.

"Yeah, but none of them feel nearly as strong," Yamcha tells her. "And they don't feel nearly as evil either."

The ball must be someplace in the village, which means that the best way of getting it is to get the Namekians to cooperate. A diplomatic approach seems called for.

You slowly descend, landing in the middle of the village, and drawing surprised looks from the residents who spot you. Taking a look around, you find that most of the Namekians present are a bit on the elderly side, and that most of them have strength greater than Raditz. The Namekians as a whole must be a formidable people, if the average member of the race is more powerful than a Saiyan Warrior.

"Who's that?" you hear one of the Namekians inquire.

As Yamcha and Kori land, more confused and slightly fearful whispers fill the village. Several of the Namekians tense up, seemingly readying themselves for a fight. Perhaps they do know what's going on on their world, or maybe they just don't trust strangers.

Wanting to put their fears to rest, you introduce yourself as Tofoo, and your friends as Yamcha and Kori.

"And what brings you to Namek?" one of the Namekians asks you, stepping forward.

He's a bit shorter than some of the others, but judging by the way they all make room for him, and how others look at him expectantly, you suspect that he's their leader. He has a round head, and walks with a stick much like the one Kami owns.

"We're looking for the Dragonballs," Kori explains.

The other Namekians tense up.

"I must ask for what reason you wish to gather our world's sacred treasures," the Namekian tells you. "Only those with worthy goals are permitted to wish upon the Dragonballs."

"We have some back on Earth," Yamcha explains. "One of your people went there after your planet's climate started to change."

"I see," the Namekian says. "And why not use them?"

"There's a limit to them," you explain. "People brought back once can't be revived a second time."

"So, members of our kind did survive on other worlds," the Namekian says. "This is comforting to hear; there are so few of us left."

"Elder, can we trust them?" one of the other Namekians asks. "Our brothers have been disappearing."

"What kind of test?" you ask him.

"There are seven elders on this world," the Namekian explains. "Each of us entrusted with one of the seven balls. It is our duty to ensure that those who would make a wish with the balls are worthy. We are to give tests of strength and character. If your friends fell in defense of your world, I suspect that you three are warriors, and truthfully, I never believed that physical strength should be the decider in whether a person is worthy. And, given the current situation on our world, I believe a test of character is what's called for."

"Situation?" Yamcha asks.

The Elder nods. "As Molu said, our brothers have been disappearing as of late, and we have all felt a
