>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-two year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

Last time, on Dragonball Quest, Tofoo, Yamcha, and Kori located a Namekian village, and attempted to persuade its elder to let them have the Dragonball in his possession. Meanwhile, Piccolo confronted Zarbon, the deadly right hand of Freeza, in a fierce battle. While the Demon King initially held the upper hand, Zarbon's hideous transformation proved far more formidable, and the tides of battle began to turn. Feeling the struggle from far away, Tofoo raced to Piccolo's aid while Yamcha and Kori embarked on a trial of character for the Namekian elder. Tofoo's confrontation with Zarbon seemed destined to end in death for the young human, but the creation of a new move allowed a swift victory over Freeza's minion. Now, Piccolo and Tofoo race to reunite with their allies in Dragonball Quest

>>Have fun

You zip through the sky in the direction of your friends, whose powers you can sense even from this great distance. With Zarbon and Dodoria both gone, and Freeza's power broadcasting loud and clear, they probably see little need to hide their powers.

And, to be fair, you and Piccolo aren't exactly taking great pains toward discretion either, moving through the sky as fast as you can. Piccolo's injuries are slowing him down, but as you occasionally glance back at him, they seem to be healing quite rapidly.

"So, Yamcha and the kid are getting a Dragonball from one of the villages?" Piccolo asks.

>A. Right, they just have to pass a test first

>B. Right, and you think he should meet the villagers

>C. Right, and you're heading right for them

"Right," you answer. "They just have to pass a test first."

"What kind of test?" Piccolo inquires, a curious expression on his face.

You explain to him that the Namekian Elder you spoke with tasked the three of you with gathering saplings from a nearby village; apparently the trees they grow into are important for keeping the climate of the world stable. It's a test of character to see if you're worthy of having your wish granted.

Piccolo frowns. "Tch, sounds like that old fool Kami. Don't they know their entire world is being wiped out? Why wouldn't they just give it to us so we can keep it out of Freeza's hands?"

He may have a point there, but you have the feeling that playing nice with the locals is probably in your best interest. Hopefully you can keep Piccolo from starting any trouble.

"So, how are your injuries healing so fast?" you ask him.

"My body can regenerate from just about any injury," Piccolo explains, putting a hand to his chest. "So long as my head is intact, and I have enough energy, I can recover from anything."

That explains how he was able to walk away from the damage he took in the last battle, though you have to wonder how his father was killed by a hole in the chest when he can supposedly regenerate.

"So, what did you want the Dragonballs for?" you ask Piccolo.

The Namekian chuckles with amusement. "Well, at first I thought of immortality, but that wouldn't do me too much good, because if Kami died, I'd still go with him. So that got me thinking, and I thought of a much better wish. I was planning to wish that Kami and I were no longer bound by the same life force."

All things considered; that seems practical for him, and dangerous for you. The threat of Kami's death has always been a factor in keeping Piccolo's world-conquering ambitions in check. Without that particular weakness, he would be a much more deadly foe.

"And now this Freeza guy's after the balls," you say, hiding the unease that's come over you upon hearing of his wish. "What do you think about him?"

"I didn't think it was possible for a creature like that to exist," Piccolo answers, his voice tense. "His power is beyond anything I've ever imagined, and I can't shake the feeling that it's only the tip of the iceberg."

In the distance, you can still feel the terrible power of the mighty Freeza; a darkness that seems to have a hold over the entire planet. You and your allies have gotten stronger, but even together, you're nothing but paper tigers in front of a storm when faced with such overwhelming power.

If a monster like that gets his hands on the Dragonballs, you can only imagine what horror he would unleash with them. Even the great demon king Piccolo is nothing compared to that.

A new wave of fear beginning to fill you, you pick up speed, moving toward your friends. Behind you, Piccolo does the same, and you travel in silence until you run into Yamcha and Kori, who are on their way back to the village with arms full of saplings.

"Hey," Yamcha greets upon seeing you. "Knew you'd be back."

His head turns toward Piccolo. "And you're still breathing; what happened out there?"

"Freeza's man was hiding a lot of power," Piccolo explains. "He transformed into a monster and started picking me apart."

"So that's why his energy went up so high," Yamcha guesses.

"He seemed stronger than you two," Kori comments. "How did you win?"

"I learned a new technique," you explain, extending your right arm and creating a blade of energy around it and extending from it.

"Cool," Kori gasps.

"That energy....it feels like the Kienzan," Yamcha observes.

He's exactly right, and you tell him as much.

"With a technique like that, you could stop pretty much anybody," Yamcha tells you eagerly. "Even Vegeta or that Freeza creep couldn't do anything against you."

"You're wrong," Piccolo tells him, drawing everyone else's attention. "It won't work against Freeza. His power's leagues beyond anything we've ever seen, and that green-haired freak let slip that he can transform."

"Transform?!" Yamcha asks in disbelief.

Piccolo nods. "And if Freeza's transformation is anything like what his lackey could do, then the energy we're feeling right now is nothing."

"Oh, man.....then what can we even do?" Yamcha asks, trembling. "He already has four of the Dragonballs, maybe even five. How are we supposed to get those back from him?!"

"Calm down," Piccolo orders. "Brute power isn't the only way to win a battle. If we can't out-fight Freeza, we'll just have to out-think him. Getting one of the balls and hiding it from him is a good start."

"Then let's hurry and get these back to the Elder," Yamcha tells everyone, taking off toward the village.

The rest of you follow, and shortly thereafter arrive at your destination.

"Piccolo, I should mention that they can sense energy, and are able to tell when it's....you know, evil," you tell the demon. "So just...try and stay chill, alright? Leave the goodie two-shoes stuff to us."

Piccolo scowls, but doesn't say anything further. You choose to take that as agreement, and land with Yamcha and Kori, who stand still and wait as the Namekians begin to gather around them. The Elder soon shows himself, looking surprised to see the two of them having returned with the saplings.

"You retrieved them..." he observes. "Wonderful. Let's get them in the ground at once!"

A pair of Namekians relieve your friends of the saplings and set to work, while the Elder turns his attention to Piccolo.

"I have not seen you before," the Elder comments. "You must be Piccolo, the one they spoke of."

"I am," your ally confirms.

The two of them begin to converse in a language you don't understand, but assume to be the language of their people. After a short time, the Elder seems to ask Piccolo a question, and when the demonic Namekian answers, he gives a nod of understanding.

"Each of you possess worthy goals," the Elder decides. "And you have shown yourselves to be of good character by performing this service for us. You may have the Dragonball."

He turns toward the largest building in the village. "Come, follow me."

Following the Elder, you step inside the building, which is mostly empty, save a throne that reminds you of Kamis, and a pedestal atop which sits a Dragonball with four stars on it.

The orb is far larger than those on Earth, which is sure to make it a bit more difficult to carry.

"It is yours," the Elder tells you.

"Thank you," you say to him. "Yamcha? Can you grab the ball?"

Your friend nods, going to retrieve the Dragonball as you pull out the radar, looking for the others. Five are gathered in one location, presumably in the hands of Freeza or his men. One is right in front of you, and one is a significant distance away.

"You should take your people away from here," you suggest to the elder. "Find a place to hide."

He nods. "I suppose we have little choice. If you found our village, it is only a matter of time before this "Freeza" does as well."

Suddenly, you sense an energy just beyond the edge of the village. It's not too strong, probably twice as high as Raditz, but it's also quite dark.

The armored alien begins to fly away at full speed, and you decide not to give him the chance to tell Freeza where you and a bunch of the Namekian survivors are.

You explode from the ground, covering the distance in which the alien has retreated after only a second. He stops short, eyes wide with fear as you appear in front of him. His hands clench into fists, and sweat drips down his forehead as he begins to tremble.

Before he can say a word, you strike, breaking his neck with a single punch and sending his lifeless body flying before it crashes to the ground not too far away.

After taking a moment to retrieve the armor from the fallen alien, you return to the village, where you find the others waiting.

"Another of Freeza's runts?" Piccolo guesses as you land.

Nodding, you throw the armor to Yamcha, then suggest to the others that you all head for the last Dragonball.

"Shouldn't we take the one we have back to Bulma?" Yamcha suggests, examining the armor you've given him.

"The longer we wait, the more time Freeza has to get the ball before we can," Piccolo answers. "If we get it now, we can lie low until Goku gets here."

He looks toward you. "He is coming, right?"

"My daddy will be here!" Kori promises.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll be glad to see him," Piccolo admits. "We need all the help we can get, here."

Yamcha puts the armor on, then nods. "Alright, then let's get a move on. Tofoo, you know where it is?"

You point in the direction the radar has given you, and the four of you take off, racing in the direction of the final Dragonball. The distance is greater than you had first realized, and it takes over an hour for you to reach the destination, not too far from where you battled Zarbon.

A single Namekian dwelling sits atop a colossal pillar of rock, with no method of climbing it, at least not by normal means. It reminds you a bit of Kami's Lookout or Korin tower, and judging by the irritated look on Piccolo's face, he's thinking along the same lines.

"Well, this is it," Yamcha says, going in to land.

You follow, and as the four of you touch the ground, the entrance to the dwelling opens, allowing a Namekian to step out.

He seems young, and his appearance is quite similar to Piccolo's. He wears a serious expression, and exudes an aura of confidence and strength. A single glance is all you need to know that this Namekian is a true warrior.

"Outsiders," he observes, eyes scanning your group before resting on Piccolo. "And one of our own. This is a surprise. I sense darkness in you, brother."

"I'm not your brother," Piccolo declares. "And who the hell are you?"

The warrior frowns. "I am Nail, protector of the Grand Elder. And, I would watch my tone if I were you."

Piccolo smirks. "Or what?"

"Stop antagonizing him," you admonish Piccolo.

"Spare me," Piccolo growls.

"Why have you come here?" Nail demands.

"We're looking for the Dragonballs," you answer. "A great evil has gathered the other five, and we're trying to stop him."

His eyes shift to the ball in Yamcha's arm. "That would explain why you carry the Dragonball from Tsuno's village. But how do I know you're any better than this "great evil"? Especially when you're travelling with one like him?"

Piccolo growls.

"If you can sense the evil energy in Piccolo, you can surely sense that the rest of us aren't evil," you tell Nail. "Besides, if you sense for them, I'm sure you can see that Tsuno and the Namekians from his village are still alive. They should be hiding somewhere."

Nail frowns, looking off into the distance. "It's true. I can feel their energy. They live."

"Please, let us speak to the Grand Elder," you request. "Surely he will know the truth."

Nail looks toward you again. "Very well, but before I let you see him, know this. The Dragonballs are connected to his life force. If he dies, they go with him. And, his life hangs by a thread at the moment. So, I suggest you be on your best behavior."

With that, he turns and steps inside the dwelling. You and the others follow, standing on a round floor which quickly rises upward into a large room. At the other side of the room sits a creature that can only be the Grand Elder.

He's absolutely colossal, dwarfing the other Namekians. He's also rather obese, and appears to have his eyes closed. You cannot feel much energy coming from him.

"Lord Guru, these outsiders have come asking for our Dragonball," Nail explains, kneeling before the colossal Namekian.

"I see," the old creature rumbles. "A strange bunch; three outsiders and one of our own. You are not one of my children, my friend. From where do you come?"

"Earth," Piccolo answers.

"Ah, you must have been born from one of the survivors of the great cataclysm," Guru guesses. "It pleases me to know that our kind may yet live on."

He erupts into a violent coughing fit.

"Are you alright?" you ask Guru.

When his coughing dies down, the old Namekian gives you a kind smile. "My time in this world is nearly at an end, I'm afraid. A few days is all that remains for me. My age has finally caught up to me."

"Is there anything we can do?" you ask.

"No, it is my time," Guru tells you. "I only pray that my people can carry on without me."

You tell him that Tsuno and his villagers should be safe, as you convinced them to hide.

"Thank you for protecting my eldest son," Guru tells you. "If he lives, then there is yet one favor you can do for me."

"We don't have time for favors," Piccolo snaps. "We need the Dragonball, and we need it now. There's a madman on this planet, and unless you want him to make some horrible wish, you'll hand the ball over to us."

Nail begins to move toward Piccolo, but Guru gently tells him to relax.

"Do this for me, and I will give you my Dragonball," Guru promises. "What I am going to ask of you will see to it that the Dragonballs endure past my death."

Nail looks toward the elder, sadness in his eyes.

"Please, bring Tsuno to me," Guru requests. "I will pass onto him the mantle of Grand Elder. While he lives on, so too shall the Dragonballs, and my people will have a leader once I am gone."

"Alright," you tell him. "We'll do it."

"Excellent," Guru tells you. "Thank you so much."

"But, sir, we're eventually going to have to fight the invaders off your world," you tell the elder. "Is there anything you can think of that might help us."

Guru stares at you for a long moment. "You are a warrior, are you not?"

You nod.

"Then there is something I can do for you," he confirms. "Please, approach, and allow me to place my hand upon your head.

Confused, you step forward, allowing the Namekian to place his massive hand on your head.

"Mmm...yes, as I suspected," Guru tells you. "There is much untapped power sleeping within. I can act as a catalyst, and allow some of that power to awaken."

"What?" Piccolo asks in disbelief. "You can really bring someone up to their full potential?"

"It depends on how much hidden power they possess," Guru tells him. "For those with greater potential, I can only bring out some of it, and even then, it will take time for what I can awaken to surface."

Guru stares down at you, and you feel a sudden burst of energy. In a mere instant, you feel stronger. It's not as much as you might have hoped, maybe only ten percent, but it is an increase. And, if what the elder said is true, your power should continue to grow.

"I wish you well, young man," Guru tells you.

"Thank you," you tell the Grand Elder.

"My pleasure," Guru tells you. "Now please, be swift. Time is a precious resource now, and the enemy seems to have taken pause. This is the right moment to do what we must."

"Yamcha, Kori, see if you have potential to unlock, too," you tell your friends before rushing out of the structure and taking to the air.

Leaving Guru's dwelling behind, you rush off toward Tsuno's energy signature, and figure that it will take around an hour for you to reach him. You can still sense Freeza in the distance, and a pair of his minions spread out from the rest of the group. Their powers are tiny, however, so even if they do find Namekian survivors, they shouldn't pose a real threat.

Things seem to be looking up. You've made friends with the future Grand Elder of this world, forged an alliance with Piccolo, at least temporarily, and gained a nice little power boost. Still, there is Freeza to deal with, and you imagine that Bulma isn't all that pleased with you leaving her all by herself for this long without at least telling her what's going on. Oh well, you can deal with that later.

By the time an hour has passed, you manage to locate the Namekians, who have taken to hiding in a canyon. They look up as you descend, and Tsuno steps forward at once.

"You have returned," he says. "Has something happened?"

"KAIO-KEN!" you shout, picking up speed as your power doubles in the blink of an eye.

At this new speed, it doesn't take long for you to reach the cave, or to see the two men wandering toward it. One looks like a human, while the other looks like an alligator-man. Both are wearing armor, and have some kind of blasters attached to their arms.

"Well, then everything will be fine," you tell your wife.

Throughout the years, you and Goku have faced some pretty terrible threats. From a crazy blue dwarf, to an army bent on world conquest, to a demon spawned from God himself, to alien invaders, the two of you have overcome everything life has thrown at you. Krillin may not be here like he usually is, so it won't be the three of you against the world like the old days, but you and Goku make a great team, and you truly believe that together, you can find a way to stop this Freeza.

Bulma smiles. "Yeah, the two of you always manage to amaze me. I'm not too worried."

Stepping forward, you pull Bulma in for a kiss, which she happily returns. One good thing about her coming on this potentially fatal journey; you don't have to go months without that.

Your wife is safe and sound, and Tsuno should be on his way to Guru's now. You suppose you should go there as well.

Before you go, you show Bulma the blasters you took from Freeza's men. You explain that you thought she might like to study them, as it would give her something to do while she's sitting around here.

"Hmm...interesting," she says, taking the blasters and giving them a once-over. "So those soldiers couldn't use their energy like you?"

You shake your head. "They use these instead, and I figured they might make good protection for you."

Bulma smiles coyly. "Oh? Worried about your pretty wife all alone out here?"

She chuckles. "Thanks, Tofoo. I'll make sure I keep one with me, once I've had some fun working with them."

She them gives you a playful glare. "But, don't be gone too long this time. Otherwise, I might have to test them on you."

Laughing and assuring your wife that you'll be back to check in on her, you leave the house, and the cave, finding the two bodies lying right where you left them. Destroying both with a quick energy blast, you take off, making your way back toward Guru's.

Freeza's forces have been crippled, our heroes have gathered two of the Dragonballs, and made friends among the Namekian people. And, best of all, Goku is only a few days away. But, what does the powerful tyrant Freeza have in store for his adversaries? Find out next time, on Dragonball Quest!

>>
>>731116
So Som, as somebody who's been doing DB quest stuff for a while, what would interest you more;
a quest centered around a PTO soldier OR a quest centered around Kaioshin in training?

Did you have a race in mind for the PTO soldier?

A Kai in training isn't necessarily restricted in the same way a fully trained one is. A lot of the Kai's don't seem very serious in the first place.
As for the PTO soldier, I was thinking something like Brench, those multicolor demon looking guys, or whatever the fuck Cui is. There's always a ton more options though.
>>
>>731173
Can we be a Kaio that gets promoted to Kaioshin, and while we're training, we learn to despise those filthy ningen, helped by the future versions of ourself?

>>731339
Fuck the Mafuba for now bro. We need that extra spicy Universal Spriti Bomb

we already know that there are some human looking members of friezas crew, we can hide our power level, and we know exactly where the dragon balls are.

why dont we just steal the fuckers? we have the correct armor, and its unlikely freeza gives enough of a shit about his people to memorize their names. or faces.

there might be a few problems... but its still probably easier than facing freeza head on, and our first wish can be to send that fucker into an eternal slumber. then we mafuba his ass for good measure.

the ginyu force will fuck our shit up anyway, but the fight with them will be the big fight of the arc if we pull it off.

Last time, on Dragonball Quest, Tofoo and the gang reunited, and completed the task given to them by the Namekian Elder, Tsuno. After disposing of another of Freeza's men, Tofoo and friends traveled to the home of Guru, Grand Elder of the Namekian people. The ancient Namekian agreed to provide them with a Dragonball, in exchange for bringing Tsuno to him. After receiving an increase in power, Tofoo summoned Tsuno to Guru's, and rescued Bulma from a pair of Freeza's men. Now, Tofoo reunites with his friends, unaware of a deadly new threat speeding toward Namek. Will our heroes be able to take the remaining balls from under Freeza's nose, and what surprises does the tyrant still have in store? Find out, today!

>Have fun

Guru's home comes into view, and you're finally able to see your friends, whose power you could sense well before you arrived.

Yamcha and Kori are sparring in the air not far from the home, while Nail watches with a serious expression on his face. Both of the fighters have grown stronger since you were last here, with Yamcha nearly as strong as you, and Kori seeming even stronger. It seems Guru was able to unlock some of their potential as well.

Yamcha's holding his own, but Kori's power is incredible, and it's pretty clear that if she went all out, the older fighter wouldn't stand much chance. Goku's daughter, you suppose you should expect as much from her.

Letting the two warriors continue their battle, you move past them and land beside Nail, who continues to watch the battle with a somewhat troubled expression. There's worry in his eyes, and a bit of sadness. Perhaps he's feeling similar to Tsuno over the imminent passing of Guru.

"Has Tsuno made it here, yet?" you ask the warrior.

"No," he answers, continuing to study the battle. "But he is on his way. It should not be long now."

In the air above, Yamcha manages to catch Kori off-guard, telling her to work on her defense even as he falls under assault from a powerful counterattack.

"So, can I spar with you?" you request of Nail.

His eyes shift in your direction. "You would not last long. My power is several times greater than your own."

"That just makes it more exciting," you tell the Namekian. "I want to see what you can do."

Nail turns to face you, giving you a small nod. "Very well, but I suggest we take this match elsewhere. It would not do for a stray attack to bring harm to Elder Guru."

He takes to the air, and you follow as he leads you a short distance from Guru's home, landing on one of the many open areas that cover this planet. The two of you land, and he stares your way expectantly.

"Go ahead and show me your power," he invites.

Accepting Nail's invitation, you charge forward and attack with your full strength, striking with a powerful punch aimed at the Namekian's face. To your surprise, he makes no effort to dodge it, and when your blow lands, he doesn't even flinch.

"You're holding back," he remarks. "I can feel it. Let me see your full power."

To emphasize his point,he flexes a bit of his own power, creating a powerful wind which pushes you away from him with your feet dragging across the ground. You doubt this is all he has, but right now he's putting out about as much power as Dodoria did.

"KAIO-KEN!" you shout, your energy doubling in an instant, and your body becoming surrounded with a red aura.

Nail's eyes widen just a bit at the sudden change, and you don't give him any chance to figure out what just happened before you charge directly at him, hearing a wolf howl in your ears as you reach your target.

"WOLF FANG FIST!"

Your first claw-strike catches him off-guard, and you hit him in the face, causing his head to turn as he falls off balance just a bit. However, he quickly recovers, and you find yourself unable to land any more hits on him as he blocks or parries every strike you throw his way. Finally, you end the technique with a double-palm strike, but Nail vanishes before your attack can hit.

Before you have even a moment to figure out where he went, you receive a chop to the back of the neck that causes you to stagger forward, your entire body shuddering.

Once you've recovered, you turn around to find Nail standing perfectly still, one hand raised and flattened after having clearly just delivered a chop.

His eyes find yours, and in them you see a challenge to try again.

If Nail wants to see what you're really capable of, then you won't disappoint him. With a yell, you gather up your energy and explode toward your opponent.

The speed at which you move surprises even you, and Nail is absolutely shocked by it, allowing you to hit him in the face with an uppercut, throwing him off of his feet. You spring upward toward him, slamming your fist against his gut and bringing him crashing back down to the ground with you kneeling beside him. Opening your fist, you allow a rush of energy to erupt from your palm, shooting right into the Namekian, who cries out in surprise, and perhaps a bit of pain.

You leap back, catching your breath as you drop out of the Kaio-Ken. Nail picks himself back up, looking at you with wide eyes.

"Impressive," he tells you.

"Thank you," you say to your fellow warrior.

Despite being impressed with your attack, Nail doesn't appear to have received any real damage from it. Whether that's due to having regenerative abilities similar to that of Piccolo, or simply because he's so much more powerful than you, you can't be sure. But, one thing is certain; he's the most powerful warrior you've ever gone up against.

"Tsuno should be arriving any minute," Nail informs you. "Let's return to Lord Guru's home."

The two of you take to the air, and set off in the direction of Guru's home, reaching it just before Tsuno lands.

The old Namekian looks to you, then to Nail, and bows before the young warrior.

"Nail, it is a pleasure to see you again," the elderly creature greets.

Nail inclines his head respectfully. "Yes, if only it were under more happy circumstances."

The two of them look toward the entrance to the building.

"Lord Guru is inside, along with a Namekian named Piccolo," Nail tells the Elder.

"Ah, yes, I have met Piccolo," Tsuno informs Nail. "I will see myself inside."

Nail lets him enter without problem.

Once the two of you are alone again, you ask Nail why he's so much more powerful than the others on this planet. You were barely a match for him.

Nail looks somewhat amused. "You weren't a match. If we had been in a true battle, I would have killed you in seconds."

His expression turns serious again. "It is my job to protect our world's Grand Elder. For this reason, I have spent years training in the ancient ways of the Namekian Warriors, and grown powerful enough to protect Lord Guru from any threat."

He looks down. "Or so I thought, until this darkness arrived on our world. That power in the distance is beyond anything I could imagine. I would stand no chance against someone like him."

"Could you help me train some more?" you request of the Namekian.

He stares at you for a moment. "We shall see. It all depends on what the Grand Elder wants."

The two of you make your way inside, flying up to enter Guru's chambers. You see Tsuno kneeling before him, his head bowed low.

"Rise, my son," Guru instructs. "And approach. Allow me to place my hand upon your head, and grant you my powers."

Tsuno slowly stands, approaching his father, who places a hand upon his head. A glow surrounds the two of them, and you seem to feel a boost in power for the smaller Namekian.

Guru smiles, then erupts into another violent fit of coughs.

"It is done," he remarks once his coughing dies down.

Nail steps forward, and kneels before Tsuno, bowing his head toward the new Grand Elder.

Guru, meanwhile, reaches above his throne, retrieving an orange orb with a single star on it. He holds the Dragonball toward you.

"Here you are, my friend," he tells you. "Use it well. But, what will you do now?"

You inform Guru that you plan to wait for your friend Goku to reach the planet before making a move for the other Dragonballs. In the meantime, you wish to train with Nail in order to stand a better chance when the time comes.

And so it goes that for the next several days you engage in training with Nail and the others, increasing your power in the process, and becoming far stronger. As you stand outside of Guru's home one day, you suddenly feel a massive surge of energy approaching the planet.

Nail looks up toward the sky, frowning, and as you focus on the approaching energy, you quickly realize that it isn't Goku who's coming.

Things might have just gotten a lot worse.

"Looks like Freeza's called in backup," Piccolo suggests, landing beside you and the others.

The power you feel approaching the planet is immense, and it doesn't feel friendly. If you had to guess, Piccolo's suggestion is right; Freeza's brought in some more help. And, these powers make even Zarbon and Dodoria seem weak.

"We need to draw them away from Tsuno and the others," you tell your friends.

"Right," Yamcha agrees. "But, should we hide the Dragonballs first?"

"If they don't find them with us, they'll just go and slaughter the Namekians until they can track them down," Piccolo points out. "We might as well bring them with us."

"Let's go!" Kori shouts, taking off and flying at full speed away from Guru's home.

You follow, as do Piccolo and Yamcha. Nail, however, stays behind, intending to do his duty and protect the Grand Elder. There are four of you preparing for this battle, but you sense five powers. This is going to be dangerous.

"Man, can you guys feel that?" Yamcha asks nervously. "This is unreal!"

"Calm down," Piccolo tells him. "They may be strong, but we aren't too shabby either. As long as we keep our heads, we have a chance."

"My dad will be here soon," Kori reminds everyone. "Then we'll win for sure."

"Right," you agree with the girl. "We just need to hold out until Goku gets here."

"Let's hope we can last that long," Piccolo tells you. "Those powers are heading right for us!"

The four of you speed up, looking for a place to land. Luckily, Namek is covered in locations suitable for battle, and you spot a nice place rather quickly, landing and waiting for the rapidly approaching powers to arrive.

Less than a minute later, they do.

Five aliens land before you, all of them in matching armor, and all of them wearing smirks on their faces.

At the front of the group is a tall, purple-skinned alien with a bald, horned head. Just behind him on his right side is a short, pudgy alien with green skin, no hair, and four eyes. To the left of him is a red-skinned alien of slightly below-average height, with red skin and long, white hair. Behind him stands a huge, blue-skinned alien, and to that alien's right stands a large, human-looking man with short, red hair.

"Hello there," the purple alien greets. "You must be the people we've heard so much about."

"Alright, you know us," Yamcha tells him. "But who are you supposed to be?"

"Why, we're the Ginyu Force," the purple alien tells you. "I'm Captain Ginyu, and pardon me for making this brief, but we're here for those orbs you're carrying. Dragonballs, right?"

Yamcha, who is holding the one-star ball, takes a nervous step back, while Piccolo, who is holding the four-star ball, scowls.

"Lord Freeza has four in his possession," Ginyu explains. "And supposedly, you need seven to get a wish granted. Two here, five there. Now, I'm no mathematician, but I'd say that adds up rather nicely."

The other aliens begin to laugh, and Ginyu smirks.

"Why are you giving the balls to Freeza?" you ask Ginyu. "Why not just keep them for yourself?"

"Are you nuts?!" the little green alien asks. "Going against Lord Freeza is suicide!"

"Might as well try fightin' a black hole with both arms behind your back!" the red-skinned alien adds in an accent that seems oddly familiar.

"Besides, what do we need a wish for?" Ginyu inquires. "We're the most elite team of warriors in the universe, working for its most powerful inhabitants! There's nothing more we could ask for!"

"And what about Freeza?" Piccolo asks. "What does he want them for?"

"The one thing he doesn't have," Ginyu tells you.

"Immortality," the blue alien answers.

"What?!" Yamcha gasps.

"It means living forever," the human-looking guy clarifies.

"I know what it means!" Yamcha snaps.

"So, here's what's going to happen," Ginyu says. "We're gonna take those Dragonballs, then take care of you!"

"And by "take care of you", he doesn't mean we're gonna make you hot coco and read you bedtime stories," the red alien tells you. "He means we're gonna kill ya!"

Ginyu gives him an annoyed look. "Did you really need to explain that?!"

Ginyu smirks. "Well, boys, looks like we got us a comedian here."

"I think he's pretty funny," the blue alien comments.

"Funny looking," the red-skinned alien chimes in.

You take a moment to try and size up their powers. The red, blue, and human-looking one all have power levels similar to Nail's, making them incredibly dangerous. But, Ginyu himself makes the rest of them look like a bunch of kittens. Then there's the green one, who doesn't feel all that powerful.

"Look, why not just hand us the balls?" Ginyu suggests. "We're still gonna kill you, but why not make things easier? Come on, be sporting."

"Aww, you don't want any coco, then?" you ask. "Mine's to die for, and I know some good bedtime stories."

Ginyu chuckles. "Your jokes are starting to get stale. Now, we can do this the easy way, or the really easy way. The choice is yours."

"Anyone have any bright ideas?" Piccolo asks.

"Those eye pieces of yours, they aren't built to track Dragonballs, are they?" Yamcha asks.

Ginyu smirks. "So what if they're not?"

Yamcha leaps into the air, spinning. "THEN GOOD LUCK FINDING THIS ONE!"

He hurls the Dragonball with all of his might, and instantly, you feel a rush of power. A second later, maybe two, the blue alien returns to his spot with the rest of the Ginyu Force, the Dragonball in his hand.

"Welcome back, mate," the red-skinned alien tells him.

"W-what?" Yamcha stammers, turning around. "How?!"

"Just one," Piccolo says, raising his fist.

Your heart speeds up as you realize what he's about to do. But, as the Namekian strikes down at the Dragonball, it seems to vanish from his hand. His eyes go wide with confusion, and he looks around, only for laughter to draw his attention back to the Ginyu Force.

The little green creature is holding the Dragonball, smirking in the direction of the Namekian.

"How the hell did you do that?!" Piccolo demands.

"I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve," the little guy tells him. "You'll see more of them soon enough."

"Well, that's all of them, then," Ginyu announces, taking the Dragonballs from his men. "I'll just take these back to Lord Freeza. Boys, there's four of them and four of you. So, share, and have a good time."

With that, he takes off into the air, leaving his men behind.

Looking over, you see the four remaining members of the Ginyu Force doing stretches, seeming not too concerned about the possibility of you and the others trying anything.

"So then, who's fighting who?" the green one asks, stopping his stretches.

"Well, let's get a look at their power levels before we make any decisions," the red one says, activating his scouter. "Hmm....well, the Namekian's at 11,000. The one with the scars is at 12,000. The comedian's at 16,000. And, the kid's at....huh."

"What?" Burter asks.

"The kid's at 18,000. Not bad," the red one answers.

"Well then, let me fight the kid!" the green one declares, stepping forward only to be grabbed by the head by the human-looking guy.

"Hey, I don't think we said you could call dibs on anybody, Guldo," the big guy lectures.

"Oh, let him have her," Burter suggests. "She's the only one that's his size."

The big guy chuckles, releasing his hold on Guldo's head. The tiny alien fumes, but doesn't say anything.

"It doesn't seem like any of these punks are gonna out up much of a fight," the big guy comments. "Do we really wanna fight 'em one on one?"

"Well, what do you think we should do, then?" the red one asks.

"Let Guldo fight the kid, and we can go rock paper scissors for the rest," the big guy answers.

"What?" Burter asks. "No way, you're not hogging all the fun, Recoome!"

"Fine!" Recoome shouts back. "Then let me fight Mr. Funny Man!"

"Oh, alright," Burter agrees. "That leaves the Namekian and scar-face for you and me, Jeice."

"Not so fast," Yamcha says, stepping forward. "I want to fight four-eyes myself."

Guldo chuckles. "You're gonna wish you hadn't said that."

"Oi, Guldo!" Jeice calls. "Does that mean you don't want the kid anymore?"

Guldo chuckles darkly. "No, you guys take her. I'll have my fun with Mr. Loudmouth!"

"What's up?" he asks.

"Be careful," you caution. "These guys are supposed to be an elite fighting force. Guldo seems like the weak link, but he probably has some tricks up his sleeve."

Yamcha smiles with confidence. "That's okay, pal, so do I."

You remove your hand from Yamcha's shoulder, and he steps forward, Guldo doing the same as the rest of the Ginyu Force move back, giving the fighters some space for their battle.

"So, tough guy, are you ready for me?" Guldo asks.

Yamcha drops into a fighting stance, his posture perfect, and his energy completely focused. He isn't going to screw around in this battle.

"Oh yeah, I'm ready," your friend tells the other warrior. "I hope you're hungry, because you're about to get a taste of my Wolf Fang Fist!"

Guldo smirks, but that changes as Yamcha springs into action, rushing forward and quickly closing on on Guldo. You swear you can hear a howl as he strikes the smaller warrior with a claw attack, then batters him with a series of punches before throwing him back with a double-palm strike.

Guldo is thrown back, tumbling backward away from his foe and landing on the ground in a heap. Yamcha takes to the air, cupping his hands at his side.

"Ka....me....ha....me....HAAAA!!"

He thrusts his hands down toward the little fighter, unleashing a powerful wave of energy that quickly shoots to the ground, creating a massive blast that the other Ginyu Force fighters take to the air to avoid.

They watch the exchange with amused expressions, despite the fact that their comrade appears to have been vaporized.

Yamcha looks down at the cloud of smoke he's created. "Well, looks like he wasn't so tough after all. I was worried over nothing."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that!" Jeice warns. "Guldo's a slippery one!"

"Have a look over there," Burter tells Yamcha, jerking his head to the right.

Yamcha looks to his left. "What the?!"

Guldo stands, completely unharmed, but with a shocked expression on his face.

"You're pretty fast," the little fighter admits. "Looks like I'll have to be careful."

"How did he do that?" Kori questions.

"He can't be that fast, can he?" Piccolo asks.

"Typical Guldo," Recoome comments. "Hey, Guldo! This guy isn't too much for you, is he?!"

"Of course not!" Guldo assures his comrades. "He just caught me by surprise."

"Heh, alright then, time for round two!" Yamcha shouts, charging down toward Guldo.

Then, something incredibly strange happens. In the blink of an eye, Guldo vanishes, and a massive wave of energy shoots up from the spot where he was previously standing, heading right for Yamcha.

"What in the world?!" Yamcha shouts, raising his arms to block as the blast hits him full-force.

There's a great flash of light, and a powerful gust assails you and the others. In the sky, the Ginyu Force fighters chuckle.

The smoke clears to reveal Yamcha, now sporting a few scorch-marks, but very much alive.

"That was too close..." he sighs, lowering his arms. "How did he even do that?"

"I told you, I have all kinds of tricks up my sleeve!" Guldo shouts from the ground behind Yamcha.

Yamcha turns to face him, regarding his foe with a newly recovered caution.

"But hey, don't get so down!" Guldo tells him. "Try again!"

"Do you have any idea what's going on?" you ask Piccolo.

"No, I couldn't even sense him moving," Piccolo tells you. "His power just changed locations in less than a second. If he has that kind of speed, none of us stand a chance against him."

"Be careful, Yamcha..." Kori says.

There's no sense standing around throwing guesses, all you can do now is watch. You remember how Korin told you to watch the movements of your foes, and how Kami and Popo taught you to feel the vibrations in the air to track that movement.

Guldo laughs up at Yamcha. "What's wrong? I didn't scare all that confidence out of you, did I? It's okay, I understand. If I were you, I'd be pretty scared too!"

He continues to laugh, until Yamcha smirks.

"You're not the only one with tricks," Yamcha tells him.

Your friend's body begins to glow, and you know what he's about to try. It's kind of risky, but it might allow Yamcha to better track Guldo, so you suppose it's worth a try.

Yamcha splits into two bodies, then four, then eight.

"What's he doing?" Piccolo asks. "If he splits his power that much, he won't be able to hurt the little creep."

The Yamcha's split up, surrounding Guldo and lifting their hands. They point their index fingers toward the small green fighter, and you realize that Piccolo's wrong. Yamcha can still hurt Guldo.

"DODON RAY!" the eight Yamcha's shout in unison, shooting thin beams of light toward Guldo. They may not have too much power with Yamcha split like this, but those kinds of piercing attacks can be dangerous regardless.

But, before they can hit their mark, Guldo vanishes once again, appearing a short distance away from the Yamcha's. You didn't see him move, or feel the slightest vibration to let you know that he did it. Is he teleporting or something?

"Missed me again!" Guldo mocks.

The Yamcha's turn and fire, but you know that it's a useless gesture. Whatever Guldo's doing, it's pretty much made him untouchable.

"This is bad," Piccolo comments. "Guldo might not be all that strong, but that doesn't make a difference if we can't touch him."

"Hey, Guldo!" Recoome shouts down to his comrade. "I know you're having a good time, but the rest of us want our turn! Can you just kill him already?!"

"Oh, just give me a few more minutes!" Guldo shouts, turning to face the other members of his team. "This is great!"

One of the Yamcha's moves away from the group as the rest fire another round of Dodon Rays toward Guldo, who doesn't see them coming until the last second, and barely manages to make it out of the way.

"Dammit!" the Yamcha's curse.

"So close!" Guldo mocks. "But you'll never hit me!"

"Dodon Ray!" a voice yells from behind him.

Guldo spins around just in time to take a Dodon Ray to the leg, as the Yamcha that split from the group smirks at him.

"What was that you were saying about me never hitting you?" Yamcha asks as Guldo falls to one knee.

"Finish him off!" you call to Yamcha.

"Right," the eight Yamcha's nod.

"You think taking out my leg's going to change anything?" Guldo asks. "You don't get what's going on, do you?"

The Yamcha's fire their Dodon Rays, but Guldo vanishes once again, appearing a short distance away.

"I'm not just fast," he explains. "I can stop time!"

"Stop time?" Kori asks.

"There's no way that's true!" Piccolo calls to Guldo. "You're bluffing!"

"Am I?" the little alien asks. "Or are you just too stupid to understand it? I'm the greatest psychic in the universe, which is why I'm part of the special, super elite Ginyu Force!"

"I dunno, Guldo," Jeice calls down to him. "Seems like scar-face here is givin' you a run for your money!"

"We might have to give some serious consideration to cutting you from the team," Recoome tells him.

"Or at least make you sit at the kid's table," Burter suggests.

"No, no, no, no!" Guldo shouts up to them. "It's no problem! I just needed to take some time to learn his moves, but now that I know what he can do, I'll-"

Eight Dodon Rays pierce his body at the same moment, riddling him with holes and causing him to gasp with shock and terror before he collapses to the ground.

"N-no way..." the little guy gasps, somehow still breathing.

"You really shouldn't let your guard down," the Yamcha's tell him, glowing before they return to one body.

He raises his right hand, his pointer finger beginning to glow with energy.

"Nice try," the scar-faced warrior mocks his foe before pointing at the defenseless fighter's head. "DODONPA!"

A ray of light shoots from his finger, and Guldo cries out in pain as his body is scorched by the blast. Guldo goes still, and his energy vanishes.

Piccolo chuckles. "Not bad, Yamcha."

Looks like one of the movies, Can't think of anything else where everyone would look so out of character.

"Nice pose," you compliment.

"Thanks," Recoome says with a grin. "I came up with it myself."

"Let me try!" you suggest, perfectly copying Recoome's movements and performing the same pose as him.

The three members of the Ginyu Force, along with your own allies, stare at you in surprise and confusion.

"What are you doing?" Yamcha asks.

"Woah.." Recoome gasps. "That's awesome! Hey, Burter! Jeice! Did you guys see that?!"

"Sure did," Jeice says.

"He's not half bad," Burter adds.

"I know," Recoome tells them. "Sucks that we have to kill him, right?"

"Yeah, but orders are orders," Burter tells him.

"Yeah, you're right," Recoome says, looking back to you. "Sorry, funny man, but I've got to kill you, now. Try and give me a good fight, okay?"

Yamcha may have defeated the time-stopping Guldo, but now you stand against the mighty Recoome. Will Earth's heroes manage to hold out until Goku arrives, or will the Ginyu Force be more than they can handle? Find out next time, on Dragonball Quest!

>End Updates

That's all for tonight, guys, hope you all had fun

Follow me @qmdralo to see when I'm running

I'm going on a trip tomorrow and will not be back until 9-9:30. If you guys want, I can run a late and somewhat brief session, or I can wait until Sunday or Monday

As always, I'll hang out for a while
>>
>>735056
I'm down for late session tomorrow. Question, what do the Ginyus think of us right now?
>>
>>735056
What's Goku doing now?
>>
>>735060
They think you're a somewhat cool guy

Thanks for running, what does the gang and king kai think of our current predicament
>>
>>735056
>>735060

This, what do they think of us, and more specifically of tofoo?
I think we like each other to some degree.

Also, i'm feeling avatar more than dbz at the moment, honestly.
Plus it's been a while.
>>
>>735067
The gang thinks you've lost your mind, King Kai thinks you're screwed

>>735068
Earthbender Quest, you say? I will give that some thought
>>
>>735056
So what were Piccolo and Guru talking about while they were alone?

Did he mellow out more with all these events that happened?
>>
>>735066
Hypothetically speaking, what are the chances we could avoid killing each other before we hopefully kill Freeza? I accept that we'll probably have to kill Ginyu, but it would be cool to make rival-allies out of these three
>>
>>735075
Discussing Namek, what brought "Kami" to Earth, and so on.

Maybe a bit

>>735077
Not happening, they're loyal to their captain and Freeza
>>
>>735056
Love this run desu. What timezone do you live in?
>>
>>735073
King kai should tell tofoo that it's possible to achieve higher levels of kaioken if that's the case, like he should have done, and everyone THOUGHT he did in the first place.

Are you sure king kai isn't about to tell him?
Right about now?

Well, the chance to fight strong people like the Ginyu Force is both terrifying and exciting to her. She's been impressed by how you and Yamcha have handled yourselves, and is glad that Piccolo isn't fighting against you anymore

She likes the Namekians. They're nice.

Any chance we can perform our own, non-copied, pose before the fight? Something GLORIOUS? And we tell Recoome that our fighting style is GLORIOUS, and we'll never give in, never give in, until we're VICTORIOUS.
>>
>>735164
Come up with a pose, and I allow you to do it.

Just don't let your wife see it, or you might not get laid for a while
