In the days of the old gods some humans travelled south, into the steppes - they were thought dead by most of their former brethren. There they bouth fought against and learned from the centaurs. The many small clans were united into a tribe recently by their leader, the Great Fein, Aapo. They wish to join Roggar for protection against the centaurs, so that they may found a town to call their own in the promised land that their shamans call "Heliski".

Recently, they have integrated with Rogger and helped as a strike force against the barbarian king. After the peace deal, they have settled into the town of Helsinki.

Due to the increasing hostility directed towards Helsinki, it was dismantled to allow the people to return to their nomadic life style and founded a new city of Berlin to the east.

Recently, a group of radical people who immigrated to Berlin has seized power and killed the last of the fiens. No longer will the nomads roam the world. The wheel of time is turning, and the march of progress can not be stopped.

Due to a need of resources to fuel the Nomad War Efforts, Helmuth has become the vassal of Hare in exchange for an island.

Faction: Stormbeast House
The Stormbeast house are a cadet brach of the Dragonfist Dynasty (originally the Mutt Clan), they used to be a band of goblins and humans raised on the the streets of Dragon's Tomb that turned into farmers thanks to Mutt Dragonfist. The Mutt, an urchin turned soldier managed to kill a dragon with one punch allowing his clan and his dynasty to be respected among the Roggarians. The Stormbeast Family isn't the richest nor the most powerful but they still are respected after all this years due the continuous effort of many members of the family: They produce tons of food due thanks to their priestly hunters, farmers and tamers; Muttville, the Fortress island is still an essential river port of Roggar and all the temples that exist around in their feudal lands make their land a place that all adherents to the pantheon need to visit at least once in their lifetime. The last Dragonking of the Family was one of the last pure blooded heirs to Mutt the first and with his death the cadet branch the Stormbeasts took over the feudal lands.

Upon seeing Ellisif Gunnarson on a routine visit to Dragonstomb the 14th Trusted Adviser whistled and proclaimed that she was "One hell of a Woman!" After a period of courting they decided on getting married. Hopefully this will serve as a short break to the many internal conflicts we have seen as of late.
The marriage itself was held discretely with close friends and family present. A priest of the pantheonic faith and the elemental gods worked together on the ceremony.

Fishermen on the Longfork River have whispered of strange things since the destruction of Nayte; now, these whispers are shouts. A swarm of lunatics have settled in the furthest south-east forest in the realm of Roggar.

Following the events within the portal at Nayte Crater, the unusally competent leader known as "Manman" failed to return. Not knowing (or perhaps caring) why, the drug-addled lunatic Barnaby declared himself leader of his fellows.

In the reign of Nick Ashwood, Barnaby somehow became Royal Admiral, and promptly ignited several Yalmfrid trade ships on suspicion of swampweed smuggling. In the year 251 he was imprisoned for decade by reason of arson, and spent one day a week smoking swampweed with a man named Lee, who acted as his temporary replacement. In addition, he appeared to believe he had successfully seduced the halfling Palidi Moxstep, a delusion which she refused to comment on.

After his release, Barnaby exhibited anger issues possibly related to withdrawl due to the long term swampweed reduction, and experimented with various methods to recapture his "buzz". He died in the tragic sinking of Project Weedboat's maiden voyage.

He was swiftly replaced by a shadowy figure with an apparent affinity for alchemy, who was never seen by the rest of the kingdom. He spent his life researching an unknown project; upon his death, the village of Riverhugger celebrated the first ever Timor's Eve.

Not long after, a young man naming himself Thuzad bullied his way into power. Despite his clean and charming exterior, he harbored dark thoughts within. Still, he buried these emotions deep inside, and spent a long and fulfilling life in service of the kingdom as Pontiff. He passed away on a journey to enjoy his final years.

His supposed bastard son, Alhazred, claimed the title of leader. He soon fell in love with Isolde Godric, their story ending in death at their wedding, due to the nefarious Aapo summoning an eldritch creature to slaughter all present.

One of the larger families of Riverhugger, those called the Beastbloods, pushed for a man called Arugal to lead. He had displayed a surprisingly competent capability for magic, despite his bestial affinity and insanity. Ultimately, he fell in battle against a Minotaur.

With the death of Arugal, a Meneth could reclaim leadership; the mage Medivh. Nobody was quite sure who he was born to or if he even truly WAS a Meneth, but they dared not question it.

Having researched magic all his life, Medivh's mind faltered in his old age. His son, Dangul, came forth to take his place.

Story Summary:
In ages past men lived simpler lives - they would hunt, farm, fight and always respect the might of the Old Gods. Shamans led the clans with their elemental magic - so it was for many generations, before history was ever written down. The great hero Rog united a dozen human clans into a tribe that would form the foundation of our future Kingdom. One day Rog mysteriously vanished - then came the Great Storm - when it passed, the shamans could no longer feel the presence of the Gods and had lost the source of their magic.
Our civilization would have to progress on its own and so for generations we worked the lands, expanded in numbers and territory. We adopted goblin miners, fought dragons and welcomed a demonic warband. Adventures were had, technology progressed as we explored more and more of the world, largely adopting the faith of the New Gods of the Pantheon.
The Second Horde War was a terrible conflict, mirrored by a civil war within our Kingdom - in its process the mighty Kingdom of Paitras fell and our own Kingdom was greatly damaged, with the city of Nayte and its surroundings being anhilated, ending the lives of all our denizen demons.
After the Second Horde War the Norsemen were united into an Empire and we've been fighting them ever since. We've had both victories and losses, with the Ice Dragons being a mighty asset to the norsemen.
At the end of the 3rd century Paitras was reborn under the ruler of Ezgielath, Verigal.
In the early 4th century the Barbarian Crusades were fought between us civilized nations and the vile heathen barbarians in both southern and northern lands - it ended with the expansion of Roggar to the southwest, but the loss of Paitran lands in the northeast. In the Threemine region a massive earthquake devastated the area and led to the awakening of mighty earthen beings led by an ancient one that calls himself a Titan, whom the lesser ones reffer to as "Father-Mountain". We've also learned of shadowy cabals in the lizard lands that worship eldricht horrors hailing from "The Vast". We went to war against the Barbarian King again, but this time Paitras, Roggar and our new allies, the Pantheonic Centaurs, emerged victorious, expanding our lands. We fought demons that emerged from the reopened Nayte Portal and after the peace treaty with the Norse ended, the Alliance of Pantheonic nations declared a crusade, which ended in the successful dismantlement of the North into two smaller Kingdoms. After the successful war against the Norse, we went on a Dragon Hunt against the Ice Dragons - we eradicated all living ones, but took some unhatched eggs with us. Alas, of the ten dragonlings, ony one has survived these past 7 years, now a child.
Our journey to the south resulted in us establishing relations with the Zhongian Empire. In the last three years racial tensions have been high in Roggar as conflicts between humans and goblins have resulted in thousands of casualties.

I am troubled and saddened at what has been happening in Roggar.

As the Lord of Nayte, I call forth and raise all of my domain's Banners and Levies, and place my domain on high alert. Nayte is neutral in this conflict, and I will send aid and help to all who need it.

As Guard Commander, I call forth Independent Roggarian Banners and Levies to act in the capacity of the Guard. Dragonstomb is closed to all parties involved in the conflict. Any riots in lands not involved in this conflict will be put down. Peace will be enforced by the Guard. This conflict is a matter between the interested parties (Non-neutral) and only them. If any conflict breaks out in neutral Roggarian lands again, it will be considered an act of treason and attempting to recreate a Civil War, and will be treated as such.

If you want to kill yourselves, do it on your own lands.

In the east, the faith of the Pantheon is thriving - the Barbarian King was removed from power and the Kingdom of Ezirin was established as an independent, Pantheonic state. In the south, beyond the Great Old Swamp, lies the mighty Zhongian Empire - with over seven million humans as its core inhabitants, it is also home to many dark elves, who live in relative harmony with the humans under the rule of the Emperor and the Wind Dragons, their Gods.
A non-agression pact between Roggar and Zhongian is in place until the year 445 at present, along with trade agreements.
To the west, the Zhongi deal with sea elves, to the south with lizardmen, to the east with black orcs, to the north with ogres and to the northeast - centaurs. Their armies are large and powerful. Tales are told of a mighty border wall that guards the Empire's eastern border, a testament to the greatness of that people.

Iron Legion
The massive Mercenary company and Private army started way back when Roggar was just established. It came into Play and Was hired during the Wave wars. The whitevaynes were the company's founder and still hold leadership of the massive organisation. The Whitevayne family hails from Paitras and Some parts of the family can be traced to High elves and Roggar. The whitevayne family expanded outside of Paitras when Cassius Whitevayne left Paitras after a fallout with his father, Romulus Whitevayne.

Violent riots in Rograr were resolved when its human rulers agreed to share their wealth and assets with the goblin refugee migrants(who are now about 80% of the population) and to establish a democratic form of governance. One of the leaders of the goblin migrants has won the election in a landslide, with over 90% of the goblins supporting him. Dan III the Goblin now rules Rograr, with a staunchly pro-goblin agenda.

The weather has once more gotten cold, the harvest has been very weak and a plague is spreading across our Kingdom! This plague spreads easily and is fairly lethal.

The Plague roamed the lands for five years before priests eventually were able to cleanse it. Casualty estimates are over one million.

Reports indicate that this plague also hurt western and northern Paitras, the eastern halfling lands and parts of Norsland - other Kingdoms were less affected.

Now that cities and fortresses are opening their gates, there's much work to do. We are still in a state of crisis.

We've spent two years recovering. We had to dip into that massive loot hoard we took from the Ice Dragons in order to buy food and materials and finance reconstruction and aid for the damaged regions. The crisis is no longer as severe.

In the North, Angland is gaining power. The Jarls of Groenkoestag and Sudnaragg have declared independence from Norsland and sworn fealty to Angland - the jarls of Norsland have refused the King's orders to put down the rebellion. The King of Norsland, intent on ensuring his good relations with the Pantheonic states, marched out with his own forces, but was defeated soundly by the rebels.

In Dragonstomb there was another racial attack. Several hundred armed goblin militants attacked the Grand Temple of the Pantheon, where Pontiff Arthur Whitevayne and his Blades of the Pantheon fought to defend the holiest site in Roggar. The gate was broken down and there were dozens of casualties from the defenders and the City Guards who arrived to reinforce them. All the goblins fought to the death, screaming. No notable noblemen or merchants were found among them, yet they bore weapons of high quality, beyond the budget of the average peasant. Marks of the Duchies of Hist and Gobbopolis were found on them.
The Pontiff is safe and unhurt. Repairs on the Temple have begun.

If this shit happens again, it will be considered an act of Civil War, no exceptions.

King Barnaby F. Hawthorne has declared that the Dukes of Gobbopolis and Hist are rebels and traitors, citing the attack on the Grand Temple. He has declared war on them and may set his conditions.
The rebels may also set conditions and attempt to convince the King or others to support them in what they no doubt view as an act of tyranny.

Berlin's walls were torn down and the attackers rushed in. The city was lit up by magical attacks from both sides - golems, local defenders and even lizardmen fought against the Roggarian Army - the latter prevailed in the end. Flames are blazing across the town. The books are burning, their ancient knowledge lost forever.

As the Royal Army regroups after the fight, having lost a thousand men, they recieve reports - "Independent Norse Corsairs" have raided the islands of Mukava, Kerguelen, Eigersil and Ferbarg successfuly, burning and plundering them.

As the royalist troops broke into Berlin, they saw smoke rising out of the main tent. Inside they found Helmuth, who has given in to the Vast fully in the middle, tossing books into the fire. Each time he tossed a book, he yelled out the title. "Titanmancy!", "The Truth Of the new gods!", All this knowledge has failed me, that puppet of the crimson god, the pretenders pawns, THE MASTER' SLAVE! THEY ALL SURROUND ME. LITTLE WORMS TRYING TO ACHIVE TRUE POWER. And yet, for all my talk of true power, it has failed me." Helmuth is visibly shaken, the old man cant take this stress. "They are coming now, I can feel them, I will give my life, one last sacrifice to my friends. Maybe I will return, for the Vast never forgets." With that being said, Helmuth tosses the last of the books into the fire, he then yells something in a strange tongue and slits his throat. So ends the reign of the Finns. So raises the puppets of false gods.

The Duchy of Hist sent an elite strike force - 3000 goblin elites and 2000 minotaurs - to attack Riverhugger, in retaliation for the Madmen's successful guerilla attacks so far. A large portion of Riverhugger's forces were caught outside the walls and slaugthered in the surprise attack - the goblins then scaled the walls and opened the gates for the minotaurs to rush in! It looks like a battle that's decided...but the madmen have some hidden.

Thuzad Meneth - over a century old, once a Pontiff of Dragonstomb in his old life...the strongest necromancer in Roggar. Having taken demonsblood in his late days, he has remained the shadow ruler of Riverhugger and the madmen ever since his "Death". Most of his soldiers are lost to him now. It matters not. These are conventional foes. Thuzad calls to his cultists, his necromancers, every madman who will take up arms or lay down his life. For life and death are the currency in which Thuzad trades.

The battle for Riverhugger!

The two combatants will roll 3d100s! Perhaps describe your movements? A tactical duel with thousands of fighters, a true blood match!

South of Great Nest - a place devastated by the Plague - they encounter the army of the Goblin Trinket Marketer. 275(Royals)vs414(Rebels)

The rebels are using their superior numbers to envelop the enemy and break their formations with attacks by elite groups of minotaurs! The forces of Hist are making progress, as the men of Imperator Alexous and Guard Commander Loki in particular suffer many losses, with both of them personally taking wounds.
Pontiff Arthur is enveloped by a light as Stoman's blessing grants him great power and his part of the army is inspired - but will that be enough?

To the Roggarian Nobles and the Paitracian Enlightened rulers
I'd like to Declare that the Land of Roggar's Friendship and Paitras sometimes goes further than land
and That the value of Realm sometimes goes beyond that as well.
The Recent event has demonstrated the weakness of Roggar's Admnistration and the cowardice of their nobles.
It has become Increasingly evident that Roggar is too unstable to ever reach the status of Paitras's Empire at it's greatest times
Whilst it's political system is efficient when cooperation happen , cooperation is rarer than a virgin in brothel.
I believe it is time for a new administration to be born from the Flames where Roggar and Paitras lies, but this start today and Roggar is no Smith of Empires but Paitras is.
So for Kovag to Forge this new Empire harsh choices must be made, impurities such as the goblin must be freed from the metal and Roggar's fire is too weak to do so.
It is such that to Build this new empire Roggarian land such as Tin must be fused with Paitras's Cooper but how can they have some within their own ranks?
As such I declare allegiance to the Paitracian Realm and King and swear to serve so that he may Build this new Empire from the Flames that are Chaos,Plague and War.
Let us forge and quench this Blade and that from the boiling hot oil be reveal a legendary blade that shall cut all foes with the Powers of Order,Prosperity and Peace.
For the blade to be made I Demand that Royal Forces do not fight against but along side Paitracian Forces so that Peace may be Restored and that this new Administration may be made in calm and safety for both parties.
I ask shall ask of all rebels such as the goblin to thoroughly wash their necks for us to chop their heads off whilst not dirtying our blades.
To the Glory of the New Empire and Paitras, I declare a new Era upon us all, The Era of Men.
Let the Heretic wet themselves when they shall hear the Name of our Empire.
Let all who oppose us quake and live a hundred sleepless night within combat.
Let the flames of rebellion burn their Instigators.
Let all our allies Join our glory and our enemies die like rats.
Let this Empire stand over a thousand of Eras and fight again heretics like the fiercest of gladiators.

Unacceptable.
The Roggarian kingdom, corrupted and evil.
The Pantheonic Church, the one true faith, corrupted, rotten from the inside!
The Nayteminds, allies of the Crown and the Church, using foul necromantic magic and invoking demons! The people suppoused to be the link to our gods INVOKING DEMONS FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL!
This cannot stand, this has to change. The Church must be reformed and the evils that took shelter within it removed and shown to the light.

In the county of Vaesgyolis, the lowborn priest of Gyolas, Alfio Romeo, nails a list of reforms to the gates of the Great Temple of Gyolas. His reforms soon gain popularity within the temple, the city and even the Vasentii themselves, and the current King of Roggar, aswell as the Pontiff are called illegitimate, godless and evil. Messaners are sent to all major cities in the realm, to Paitras and even the High Elves, while contact with the capital city is completely stopped.
The thesis of Alfio Romeo and his friends and colleagues, Carlo Ferraro and Michel Renault, are as follow:
1- The priesthood of the Pantheon must not be allowed to hold any lands or titles other than their ecclesiastical ones. Their loyalities must only be to the gods. Not to other interests. This includes aswell mandatory celibacy for all priests.
2- The Old Gods are not dead, but gone. They left this world to their younger brethren, and as such any worship of them while leaving the new gods ignored is idolatry and must be destroyed.
3- Therefore, any magic that might come from old gods shamans who don’t also claim loyalty to the Pantheon must always be considered evil, as it comes from dragons and other denizens of Hell.
4- Goblins shall not be excommunicated collectively. Goblins have been following the Pantheon as long as humans do, and right now they are the only ones fighting the corrupted Church.
5- No matter what their side is, no priest of the Pantheon must be attacked during a war.
6- Priests loyal to the Church of Dragonstomb even after having the truth shown to them are undoutably corrupted by demonic influences and as such must not be considered priests of the Pantheon.

Autumn of 409 is here and word is spreading around the Kingdom.
Duke Yalmfrid has declared allegiance to Paitras. The Paitran Legions are already on the move, reinforced by elves and dwarves.

The Duke of Hist is gathering forces and supporters, but his cause is that of rebellion against the tyrannical monarch, not a cause for independence - not yet, at least.

The Royalists lost most of their forces, but may have the opportunity to raise more troops - if they want to take the peasants away from their fields, that is, risking an already not so stable situation.
In addition, a church reformation movement seems to be brewing in Vaesgyolis...

To every faction - who will you declare for?

A.The Royalists - Roggar must stand united against any rebels!
B.The Rebels - The King is corrupt and a tyrant!
C.The Paitrans - Though it will mean surrendering Roggarian sovereignty(Not a game over), this will lead to stability and a new golden age of the Pantheon!

Verigal IV, the young King of Paitras, is preparing the Legions of Paitras, along with their elven and dwarven allies - winter is almost upon us so they will likely wait unitl spring before launching their invasion.
There's been rumours of Roggarian messengers travelling south to the Zhongian Empire as well.
While this is happening, Angland in the North is gaining even more power as the King of Norsland is strugglign to retain his control over the lands he has left.

A confrontation will happen in spring of 410 - will it be resolved peacefully or end in blood, we do not know.

The choices you make now are whose side you will appear on when the two meet in the field. Perhaps there will be no battle...if not - may the Gods - all of them - help us.

Just as a brief proclamation both as King and leader of the Useful Arts - I have decided to part from Mill's Duchy, specifically Madrid, on good terms. As this was the piece of land I was vassalized to him on, I am technically a free dude, but I own no major lands within Roggar. I will be temporarily rehousing the majority of my population in Greenhaven and Dragonstomb, with some dispersing among my islands.

Indeed, I think it was.

Harvesting season is passing - winter will soon come. When the snows clear and spring arrives, the armies of the East will march towards Roggar.

The sides have been declared.
Roggar is home to 2,5 million humans, Paitras has about that many as well. Roggar has another 1,3 million nonhumans, while in Paitras they are a smaller minority, less than 100k.
The factions that have declared for Paitras are home to about 700k humans. Paitras has allied itself with the High Elves and the Dwarven Kingdoms of Kragnaal and Ellstelg.

Now leaving some time for the leaders of each side to tell me their strategies for autumn-winter until spring comes.

Autumn and winter have passed and the snows are now melting.

What happened in the menawhile?

Troops from the Duchy of Kulargar took Podermos from the Trusted Adviser - almost no fighting was involved. The bridge is secured on both sides by pro-Paitran troops now.

Norse corsairs have raided undefended Kulargi coastal villages. Both sides have been raising troops.

The most shocking news may be that forces from the Halfling Kingdom marched southwards and took Barnabus' Rest - its controllers offered no resistance.

It is now Early Spring. Some Paitran troops have already arrived in Gregariapol.

Both sides may now tell me their plans for the first month of spring - Paitran Legions will have reached the frontline by the beginning of the next month.

15 000 Roggarian troops, crossing the bridge east of Trusted Defence, are attacking Podermos - defended by 8 000 Kulargi troops.

The bridge at Podermos is of vital importance, as it will allow Paitran troops to cross the Kular River. Roggarians still hold the bridge at Trusted Defence, while the Kulargi hold Ostogyol's bridge.

This is the first real battle of the Second Civil War - the Battle for Podermos, first month of Spring, 410.

Fredric Yalmfrid and his men retreated westward - towards the old goblin salt mines and the old border wall. Randalf Chaezar had used his wallbuilding skills to rebuild that portion of the wall, on the road from Ostogyol to Lakton. Along with Yalmfrid's 700 men there was the army of Vaesgyolis - 5000 men - along with Randalf's own retinue - 4000 men.

The Royalist troops that took Podermos had in the meanwhile moved north, captured Ostogyol and burned its bridge - leaving behind some men, the others marched towards Lakton, a vital strategic location for the royalists. As the 9000 royalist soldiers were marching, their commanders noticed something - their map indicated that they should be nearing the ruins of an old border wall, built over a hundred years ago, never used and left in disrepair - then WHY was this thing ahead of them a pristine-looking wall with towers and WHAT is that thing that's flying towards them?

It's a battle!

Tom of the Dragon Guard had shown himself as the bravest and most skilled fighter from the attacking side - the first man up the walls, slaying dozens by himself. He was a Centurion of humble origins. He found himself facing an officer sitting on the ground, being attended by a combat medic.

Fredric Yalmfrid - brown hair, green eyes, highly athletic and supremely overconfident, a prodigy who had proven himself a great military commander. He stood up, a short sword in his right hand and a dagger in his left. Tom had a short sword in his right - he'd lost his shield climbing the wall.

As the second month of spring arrives, so does the Vanguard of the Paitran army! 45 000 men from the east are attacking Trusted Defence - they bring with them many siege weapons.
There was a short talk between an envoy of the Trusted Adviser and Duke Tremas of Midenath. leader of the Paitran Vanguard. Even before the gates of the fortress were shut, the Paitrans began bombarding its walls.
The Paitrans don't know that Trusted Defence was reinforced - the veterans of the rebellion, the forces of Hist, along with Duke Erden's militias and the Trusted Adviser's own garrison.

The centaurs of the eastern plains had kept their neutrality now, but the Paitrans, in their effort to reach Trusted Defence as swiftly as possible, had marched through their lands - warned that this may provoke the centaurs, they attempted to strike at their camps - Chiron was taken, but most of the centaurs had already abandoned it. They've now returned for revenge, the rising sun at their backs!
4 rolls for each side now. 6000 centaurs have arrived to reinforce the defenders.

The Paitran commander was cornered by defenders who had made a successful sally against him - as the besiegers were being pushed in from both sides, with their access to their heavy weapons and siege engines cut off, the Legate put down his weapons.
The 21 000 surviving Paitrans are stripped of their equipment and taken prisoner - what will happen of them, the holders of Trusted Defence only know.

The second month of spring has set in.

News spread to the leaders of those who take part in the war - a massive army, numbering 120k, has come from Zhongian - they'vé already passed through Ermagn.
Paitras is gathering more troops at Gregariapol.
The Count of Shekelsburg mobilized a force of professionals, mercenaries and militamen, numbering 6000 and has taken the Kulargi town of Vudles.
The Duchy of Gobbopolis is entering the war on the side of Roggar - they've brought their friends, the Kingdom of the Steppes, under Terrak I, to the side of Roggar.

After taking Barnabus' Rest the halflings haven't made any more moves.

The General of the Imperial Army, a student of the late Yazhgo, is a man by the name of Pan-shim.

His forces, totaling at around 120 000, were let into our lands through Gardengrove and Ermagn. When they passed through Ogre Pass, their true intentions were revealed - they took over the fort, posted troops in the two previous cities and marched north through Falkreath, Nomannic, Lakehold and now Dragonstomb - the same route they'd taken almost three decades ago.
To secure their logistics, they've deployed troops across all the conquered towns - little to no resistance was offered by the small amount of local defenders in the outer towns. The army simply went around The Citadel, leaving some men to keep it in check. Their final obstacles were the 1st Legion and the militia that had set up fortifications in and around the capital - with the use of dark elf magic and the aid of two Wind Dragons, the defenders of Dragonstomb were forced to withdraw to the eastern side of the Fullwater river, in Hellsflame.

The delegation from Roggar has now arrived - they meet the General on the bridge between Dragonstomb and Hellsflame.

What will you say?

Samuel tried to rush forward, but Kogal the demon was faster, catching up to him and tackling him, using his knowledge in CQC to disable him non-lethaly.

The General sighs and mumbles something you didn't manage to catch.

Through a translator, the general conveys his terms.

"The Zhongian Empire sees that the Kingdom of Roggar is without a government or any form of national unity and as such can barely be treated as a state. With devastating plagues, rebellions, civil wars, betrayals, the recent invasion from Paitras - Zhongian has come to bring order to chaos. By the Emperor's orders, Roggar shall be subjugated and become a vassal nation. You will pay taxes to the Empire and provide it with access to your infrastructure and military whenever necessary. You will enjoy prosperity and even freedom in our realm - you may retain your own laws, faiths, systems of governance. We will cooperate and enjoy a harmonious coexistence that shall bring about generations of prosperity. Our Army has avoided unnecessary engagements and causing damage to this realm - we come as saviors, not destroyers. We shall help you defeat the Paitrans and restore control of all the lands they've taken from you."

They mentioned the Emperor - from what you know, the old Emperor that we never got to meet passed away several years after his expedition to Zhongian. He only sired daughters - if so, either a different dynasty has taken hold of the Empire or the husband of one of the princesses has taken the throne.

"The Emperor's death was followed by a short conflict in which his four daughters fought over the throne, each with a husband from a different part of the Empire - it was, in a way, a re-enactment of the War of Four Kingdoms which led to the formation of the Empire.
The Emperor's youngest daughter proved herself an exceptional diplomat and secured the aid of the Dark Elves, Wind Dragons and even the lizan city-states. Her husband was a general in her army and is now Emperor and commander of the Imperial Armies - the Empess wields much power as well in more political matters."
>>742337
You and some others gather for a prayer to Abagar, seeking his wisdom.

"Men will face trials and challenges - from them they must learn and improve themselves. We, the Pantheon, limit ourselves in the guidance we provide to our mortal followers, for if a child were to be carried in the arms of its mother at all times and never made to manage for itself, it would never learn to walk. Keep steadfast in your faith - perhaps from this position you can guide those people of Zhongian to Us as well.
In a conflict between our faithful, our worry would be to aid the innocent and the suffering. If you were to fight these Draconic believers, we would support you. A choice lies before you, Men of Roggar."
It seems King Hawthorne has accepted the terms of the General and has sworn fealty to the Zhongian Empire.

Conversely, Paitras has sent messengers to Roggar - they say that as Pantheonic brothers, we must stand together - their invasion came in support of Duke Yalmfrid's wish to unite our brotherly Kingdoms into a single Empire and to put down the 'Goblin Rebellion". Paitras will forgive all who have fought against them and help push back these vile, heathen invaders - they've broken their non-agression treaty with Roggar, how can they be trusted? They are Draconic worshippers who conspire with dark elves and enslave goblin and man alike.

The Paitrans offer a different solution - our Kingdoms would become the two pillars of a new Empire. The King of Paitras and the King of Roggar will duel and the Gods will determine who deserves to be Emperor.
Duke Yalmfrid has even said that he is willing to turn himself in to Roggarian justice if our Kingdom agrees to Paitras' terms.

EVERYONE - the time is coming. You have to pick a side in the conflict to come. No neutrality will be allowed this time as Zhongian and Paitras are poised to clash and Roggar will be the battlefield.

A.Declare for Zhongian - King Hawthorne has sworn loyalty to the Empire. Their forces are great and with their help we will defeat the Paitrans
B.Declare for Paitras - they are our brothers and with them we won't necessarily be the bottom bitch - with Zhongian that's a certainty.

(If you haven't stated which side you're on since you haven't joined the thread yet, you may retroactively do so later, if logic allows it)

The sides were declared - during the rest of spring forces maneuvered around and prepared for a bloody summer.

The Roggarian Patriots fled to the South with what troops and supplies they could, leaving their towns and lands - the Zhongian Army has now advanced up to the Kulargi Border War. As they've had to leave troops to guard their backs, the army that now makes up the frontline is made up of around 90 000 Zhongian troops and 30 000 troops from the Roggarians that support them.

The Paitrans haven't been idle either - they retook Ostogyol, repaired the bridge and fortified it as an important strategic location and a landing point. New Paitran Legions, along with support from the High Elves and Dwarves have arrived in the Kulargi lands, the frontline of the conflict.

Interestingly, most of the Roggarian Royal Navy has declared itself for the Roggarian Patriots - they've docked at Godric Isle, the only hold that the Patriots are left with in the northern part of Roggar.

In other news, Angland has taken over Norsland. They are at a stalemate with Paitras, who has taken Landbreig - no open battles have occured yet on that distant front.

The first two months of summr had few engagements - skirmishes at most, armies moving around. It seems this conflict will be resolved in a single, decisive battle.

Gobbopolis is where it is. Commanders from all sides know this by now.

The Zhongi abandoned their positions at the border wall in order to attack Gobopolis - the bridges connecting Dragonstomb to Hellflame were destroyed and the Rebel fleet was stalking the bay, preventing the Zhongi from crossing the Fullwater. They'd have to go through the southern route or be isolated - for this, they assembled the 120 000 troops(a quarter of which are Roggarians) they have in the Nayte region and marched south.

The Paitrans had spent time amassing forces - an army of about 120 000 would march in pursuit of the Zhongi, but from a distance, expecting to attack them while they were busy with the rebels.

And what about the Patriots? About 85 000 Roggarians of all races were in their ranks and they were reinforced by 50 000 Centaurs from the Steppes.

The Zhongi plan was to attack and take the city, disperse the rebels, then secure the southern route, from which their reinforcements might arrive.

The Patriots would hold - centaurs ready outside the city, the others guarding its strong walls. The Paitrans would seek a moment of opportunity, from a safe distance.

As scouts reported to Patriot High Command that Zhongi forces have been sighted on the road from Hell's Crusade to Gobbopolis, with about a day or two until their arrival, worrying news came. Before the messenger arrived in the command room, one could hear the thunder of hooves.

King Terrak, leader of the centaur reinforcements, had been assassinated. A demon was spotted grinning, his hands dripping with blood as he escaped pursuit.

The centaurs were ready to go home, when Duke Swift Hands, ruler of Gobbopolis, delivered a speech from an impressive platform. He managed to sway part of the centaurs - 21k - to remain.
The Zhongian General orders the attack.
This will be a three way battle, with the Paitrans being a distance away for now.
120k Zhongi vs 120k Paitrans vs 101k Roggarians

Each side is allowed four dice rolls. In discord they will tell me their strategy for the next round, if any.

292 for Zhongi, 98 for Roggar

The centaurs did not heed the command of the Roggarians, as their own command chain had been broken by the King's loss - they wrongly interpreted a command and attacked the Zhongi - an army well experienced in fighting centaurs. Suffice to say, the horsemen suffered horrific casualties, as the Zhongi could now focus on the walls of the city.
The Paitrans are still waiting from a distance, observing.

As the Paitrans attack from behind, the Zhongi deploy dark elf elites and their two Wind Dragons against them to great effect! The battle is now fully three-way.

The Roggarians also deployed both of their special weapons!
Sentinel Prime, the strongest golem ever created, 10 meters tall, made of purebronze, galentine, norse magic iron and goblinite - the ultimate in artificial creations, was one of them. The other were the elite protectors of Gobbopolis, the Knights of Mor - 194 Demons of Old Nayte, all formerly humans, who had reaccepted Mor and been pardoned by Him, sent back to protect the Grand Temple of Mor in Gobbopolis. These elite Demon Knights struck fear into the hearts of their enemies as the Zhongi and Roggarians attacking the walls of Gobbopolis suffered heavy casualties.

>187 + 113 Zhongi >114 Roggar >185 Paitras

The Paitran attack from behind is pressing hard on the Zhongi, but they've regrouped their offense and have broken the walls of Gobbopolis at last! As troops pour in through the gap, the vetern Demon Kogal, in service to King Hawthorne, drinks from the blood of the fallen Wind Dragon - he unleashes his full power, entering his true form, standing 2 and a half meters tall, magic visibly swirling around him, with wings extended at his back.

He charges forth, killing dozens of defenders in a matter of seconds, clearing a bloody path for the Zhongi to enter the city. Stopping for a minute after two minutes of non-stop carnage, Kogal notices heavy footsteps approaching - Sentinel Prime, the 10-meter tall magic-metal War Golem! Sentinel Prime's construction was funded by the Goblin Dukes - the schedule demanded that he needed a few more weeks of work to be fully funcitonal, but the golemancers managed to make him ready for this fight at about 2/3rds of his potential power.

These two giants on the battlefield now face off against each other!

As a golem Sentinel Prime has no soul of his own, but the complex workings and the expensive materials he is made of allow him to store magic charges ready for use in ranged combat - he exchanges magic fire with Kogal the demon, an expert fighter and sorcerer at peak power.

The blasts kill hundreds in the vicinity, break a part of the wall and destroy most nearby buildings. Kogal largely protected himself from the golem's attacks, who in turn took a few clean hits in his Purebronze plates.
The two fighters are getting closer to each other!

Flames are blazing all throughout the city - the fight seemed as though it lasted for days and the sun is indeed setting now....

The fact this war feels so bitter is merely a consequence of a nation torn apart, and your presence here merely aggravates it.

Paitrans, who we once found our brothers, you seem quick to stick a dagger between our ribs the moment you heard of our civil war. Please, we ask not for much, merely the head of the traitorous cur who betrayed his own nation for another.

And to soldiers on all sides of the field... why? So much blood lost to plague and famine and war, and yet you seem intent on spilling more. I beg of you, go home. King Barnaby must abdicate - Duke Yalmfrid will be executed, while the Marketer will be put on trial

As we currently have no King, Verigal IV of Paitras shall assume the Imperial throne.

Roggar and Paitras will each have a King - one of them will be Emperor. Upon an Emperor's death or abdication, his Kingship is inherited and a new Emperor will be elected by a joint council of Paitran and Roggarian noblemen.

The armies are being disbanded, the war is finally over...

In Spring of 411 a new Contest for the Dragonbone Crown of Roggar must be held.

You know the drill, folks - if you want to put forth a candidate, roll a 1d100 and give the following descriptions of your character - if you don't, I'm not counting your roll or any supporting roll.
>Name
>Race
>Age
>Skills,experience,etc.
>What you promise to do for Roggar

Anyone can be a candidate
If you want to support a candidate, roll a 1d10.

Let the Spring Contest of 411 BEGIN.

Ah, perfect! Looks like I don't have to be King after all. Well then, I may as well announce the intentions of my group after all this. A group of roughly 6-9 of us are starting a new organization.... The Hermetic Order of the Manifest Dawn. In charge of the Technology section will be myself, and in charge of the Magic, will be, uh, Balor of the Evil Eye, my brother. It will be strictly off limits to all other than the group, and of course we'll be led by a certain council... the Ascendent. We'll be hopping off to Mukava now, but we'll be making an impact very shortly... *whispers* very shortly... um. Intelligent AI golems, new forms of magic, possibly even... what's that? Oh, sorry, my companions and I have to keep some things secret. Goodbye then.

Duke Knife-in-the-Dark Swift-Hands of Gobbopolis has been crowned King of Roggar in 411 - long may he reign. He is a vassal to Emperor Verigal IV of the Holy Pantheonic Empire. The two Kingdoms retain their own laws, but under this political union will be bound to aid each other in any trouble, share information and technology and jointly elect an Emperor upon the death or abdication of the current one. As it is, the Empire is indeed very decentralized - that's the starting point for any empire not born entirely of conquest, you coud say.

Now here's my final update for the day(and the week probably, I have work tomorrow that I shouldn't delay, so I won't be able to host.)

The Plague and the subsequent Zhongian-Paitran war for Roggar affected the lives of many, among whom were the Lectre family. A set of nobles from Dragonstomb with a slightly sketchy background and somewhat... peculiar tastes, their businesses fell apart piece by piece as the Zhongian army occupied the city. Eventually, they paid to be smuggled from the city and fled, walking for miles before stumbling on the charred ruins of Riverhugger. Settling down for the night, they realised this was to be their new home. Not knowing the old name of the village, they gave it their own: Starling.

Bought some of Ranger Grandmaster's and Hawthorne's trained and domesticated dire wolves, and plan on training some of them for police/guard work around Roggar. Also placed an order for some acclimated raptors for the future.

Your in luck as a Discord app exists. If you want directions on how to make a faction you can check the pastebins in the first post or you could join the Discord and ask Bulgar or one of us players for help.
>>
>>748567
I'm new, but you could be whoever you want. Just don't be an edgelord about it. Like don't make your character sound too overpowered and you should be fine
>>
>>748567
Also I should add I'm really, really new to this stuff. I think I've done maybe 1 or 2 civ quests before.
>>
>>748590
>just don't be an edgelord about it
To be fair I have a demon who has assassinated another country's king and proceeded to suplex a 10 meter tall golem, so
:^)

>>748598
Yeah, so was I
>>
>>748605
Well you worked for it, right?
>>
Forgive me, I'm new to discord as well. I just downloaded the app. How do I join?
>>
>>748630
I should add it keeps saying the instant invite is invalid/expired
>>
>>748630
I think when you click add discord it will ask for a code, it should either be

https://discord.gg/fNwhBwd

or

https://discord.gg/4Q27w
>>
If neither of those worked, I'll ask one of the chat mods for an invite when they pop on.

>>748609
Joined 5th thread, got wiped out 8ish, made muh new faction around 9ish, and proceeded to do my thing, which is Old Gods, crazy magics, and weird magitech. So yeah, I worked for it.

Unfortunately, Bostil Tellic has died at the age of 51. While fishing, he fell into the Miva River, which washed him away and drowned him. He leaves us with a son and two daughters, Brymwill, Mimri, and Cloma. Brymwill shall lead the Halfling Father's Guild until he perishes or resigns. RIP Bostil Tellic (360-411)

Quite big but bnot that big. The thing is they built a bunch of big walls around the surrounding villages and farmlands. Like the Athenian long wall but useful.

We will announce the Commission of a few items for the Ranger Order! This is in response to the blood shed from the war and the Rangers encouraging Roggar focus on its enemys instead of themselves.

Firstly, a set of armor that will be called "Watchers eye" named this because those wearing it will always watch Roggar and defend it from threats. Along with it will be a bow named "Watchers Fury" symbolizing the Watcher striking down aggressors, along with the weapon is a munition of purebronze arrows.

The armor will be crafted from mithril and enchanted so the wearer is protected from elemental magic and to ensure the wearer always has a clear eye for its targets. The bow will have a Mithril core within it so the arrows fired from it will travel faster and hit harder thanks to the latent enchantment. But the arrows, they will burn the target from within if the wearer strikes true.

These things will come to be thanks to the generosity of the Goblin Trinket Marketer selling these metals to us. The gears magic will come thanks to the enchanters of the Hawthorne family. While the most important part, the metal portions being made will be handled by the Warsmiths of the Citadel. We do not know when it will be finished, but we hope this will bring glory to Roggar and it will be a great boon in its defense.

Closer to this now, got some land from Norseland before Angland took it and united the two to Anglanorse.
>>

Clan Erden will help out with Godrics lands. He is willing to sell food at a discounted prince to us in exchanged of money.

Not just that but there going to be trade of priests so Erden had allow me to have Zemel priests on my lands to help it grow and regrow after the war. For some Gyolas priests from me.

tl:dr Erden is going to help shape up my lands and ensure my people got them food, and land is growing. That way my lands is back growing food and people pop is back pre plague levels.

You've properly set up on Mukava at last. With effort and tending, the island is not so rough as you'd first thought - your people can sustain themselves here with fishing, husbandry and trading with the south.
With help from Oceanus, you've charted out a route through the northern passage - while some norsemen have also managed to pass through, it was deemed as too dangerous and not worth it, for it is a distance spanning many miles. With a number of ships packed with supplies, the blessings of Gyolas and even some Water magic, you managed to make it through the icy waters by travelling in summer, before the passages would be blocked. Your 5 longships lost 2 of their number before reaching the other side of Landbreig.
You know the path and it is traversible during the warm months.

>>744184
No major advancement.
>>744192
The bridges are being rebuilt - for now wood will suffice in most places.
>>744193
You sold a lot of the surplus equipment from the war, but that couldn't suffice for the project you had in mind. The efforts to traverse the land, asess damages, collect equipment and raise taxes itself took much of the money you raised and in the end nothing came out of it except some bureaucrats and merchants enriching themselves. You did improve the situation in your own Duchy, though.
>>744202
An accidental forest fire led to some damages and you spent efforts fixing that.
>>744205
Reconstruction is somewhat slow.
>>744208
You've gotten no new trade deals. Indeed, you find yourself in debt with all the expenses that have arisen both during and after the war.
>>744217
With the War Council's aid you've managed to rebuild most of the damages on your land.
>>744225
Godric lands did not suffer too much during the war and you've brought them up to speed more or less. Relations with the halflings and paitrans have improved, which is quite useful now as shortages in food and other goods are being ailed by imports from the halflings primarily.
On your visit to Laekam, the halfling capital, you couldn't help but marvel at the splendour and wealth of the King's Palace, recently finished and fit even for a human.
>>744237
Anglanorse, the united Norse Kingdom, is careful with accepting foreign priests, but you did manage to instead establish contact with native Pantheonic priests and send some funds to them.
>>744248
Centerhold, however, is suffering - the war extracted financial and manpower costs, even if there were no battles fought there. The worst thing is that there was a major earthquake that even split the ground in some parts and led to most of the city being levelled! The Temple of Drana is mostly standing and is housing many refugees and trying to help the suffering citizenry.

>>744241
Gardengrove hardly needs expansion, as the city still has room for a lot of people - that is what you are lacking at this point, with a slow, but steady stream of halflings and humans coming to your lands to help with that.

You've expanded Hell's Crusade into a larger town, almost a city.
As Guard Commander you find yourself doing very well - there's been troubles with crime post-war, deserters, highwaymen and small organized crime groups , including a surviving splinter of the White Snow - with an iron fist your guardsmen, a larger force now, are dealing with them.
>>744281
You've began using research funds to study the wind magic of Zhongian - you've gotten a Zhongian scholar, a fairly young man by the name of Pri-Mink, to come to MAGA to teach. He was the apprentice to a renowned sage, he says.
>>744356
Your had to prioritise restoring Chiron from its damages for this decade. Relations with the Steppe Kingdom have gotten a bit colder after this war. You've expanded the Kingsguard(tell me details of how you'd want it to be on Discord).
>>744374
A reliable source in Zhongian got you info on both - the last time a Dark Dragon was sighted, he was headed into the lands of the Black Orcs, apparently. As for Light Dragons, both the Water Dragons of Gajaxlan and the Wind Dragons of Zhongian say that they are certain none are to be found on our continent or the southern continent.
You came out of the war quite well, overall, with few casualties and enough loot to cover your expenses.
>>744568
You've put the navy to fishing. At least for now they're not a burden on the Treasury.
>>744868
Success - contact me on Discord for more details.
>>744956

Through a firm grasp on the legal system, you've worked to combat any workarounds and loopholes in regards to serfdom and slavery.

Redevoplment of war-torn regions is somewhat slow, but on the other side you've attracted many thousands of people to settle on the empty lands of the Longfork, founding many new villages(no one's domain at present, maybe for a new faction in the future or a landless one).
We've settled up to the border with the minotaur lands.
