M-major! Wake up!

[She sounds furious]

I can't believe you're sleeping at a time like this!

Huh? oh, and I was have such a nice, long dream. Could you give me the run down of the situation on the way to the bridge?

Welcome back Ceg, gonna have look at last thread to remind me a bit of where we were

Ceg are we seriously running? Sweet time for sweet Despair once more.

The Major never sleeps.
He waits.

Where the riot shield?

Glad you're running again. Can we get a status update on the way back to the bridge?

Great to see you running again. Unfortunately I'm at work so I won't be able to participate for a few hours.

Oh, I’m sorry to interrupt your dream. Do you want me to ask the Angel to come back later? I’m sure it’ll be happy to indulge.

Yeah, right. I hope your waiting is over now, we have things to do.

As you surely know Major, the 9th Angel is currently in low-orbit above us.

We sent Florence up there in a hastily repaired Eva Unit 08. She’ll reach the interception point in an hour or so. Since the Angel has superb accuracy at close range, the plan we agreed on was to overload the Angel capacity to defend itself using everything that could reach it.

We have 2 wings of F23 Black Widow II Interceptors in the air racing towards the interception point and are preparing to launch the missiles R&D devised.

If everything goes well we should be able to hit it full force just as Florence gets close enough to stab the son of a bitch.

>>764811
I don’t recall we ever try to, but if you want to I could drop you off with a megaphone next to an Angel next time one shows up! (She laughs; Sophie doesn’t)

>>764823
You’ll have to ask R&D that, I don’t know. But I saw one the Eileens close to the bridge when we were searching for you, maybe you could ask her.

>>764826
>W-what? Yes I did b-but- (Rachel laughs again)

>>764847
Nope, nothing new. The only thing we know is that it is able to fire a sustained positron beam.

>>764851
Morale? Everyone is stressed out but Florence seemed alright. She’s kind creepy, right? Always smiling.

>>764864
(You hear Sophie scoff)

All right, we’re at the bridge.
>>
>>764958
Is Florence ready for that kind of operation? I don't think its been that long since her uh, accident.
>>
>>764958
I don't think creepy is an accurate assessment. Crazy shit's happening and it'd be even stranger if people weren't just a tad unhinged from the stress.

Hell, just look at me. I'm probably the craziest of the bunch but you're all pretty accommodating.
>>
>>764958
Doesn't the U.N. have a few ICBM to launch on this thing? Even a few Iraqi scud?
>>
>>764974
Is Sophie even aware of the Florence situation? I'm not able to recall whether we've kept that to ourselves or not.
>>
>>764958
Nothing's changed then...this is still a high risk operation with a minimal chance of success and a high loss of life if we lose.

No worries then. Hahaha.
>>
>>764958
Can't do anything without the latest sitrep.

Wait, I can. Call R&D and tell them to stuck both Eileens in the same plug RIGHT NOW. Also I need a report on Carl. We need as many Evas operational as possible.
>>
>>764990
>Carl
I'm actually curious what he's been up to as well. We haven't really heard from him after we met, mutually blamed each other for the deaths of all his friends, then threw him in the brig.
I don;t know who was driving our head that time, but we could have handled that way better.

That's no laughing matter, Major!

They need me at the airbase, so I should probably go now.

Hm, Major? (She gets closer)

After all this we'll need to talk about- you know, what happened. (She smiles)

So uh, drop by the airbase if you have a minute.

[First Child]
Good to see you, Major.

My unit is currently on low-power mode. Once I activate it It'll only have 5 minute of energy until deactivation.

Should I activate my Unit and start taking shots at the Angel now or wait until the last moment to facilitate cohesion with the Interceptor wings and the missiles?
>>
>>765615
We need to wait until the last minute and make all our attacks simultaneously.
>>
>>765615
Wait. You've already got its attention, and I have faith you'll be able to hold it off long enough for some patented NERV synergy.

And give her a big ol' smile.
>>
>>765615
Considering the Angel is on you in 7 minutes and the attack is planned in 10 minutes, if we don't do something now, else, you will not be able to synchronize with interceptors and missiles anyway.

Can't we try to redirect satellite and blind the Angel with the reflexion of the sun on their solar panel?

If it's impossible, You will have to defend yourself in 7 minutes.
>>
>>765615
Wait until you're in a good position before attacking. Five minutes isn't a whole lot of time to enact a contingency, so we need to maximize our chances of success the first time.
>>
>>765634

>>
>>767612
I can't really blame him to be honest. Bombing the shit out of a city and and their last comrade causes one hell of first impression in people.
>>
>>767728
I can understand the bombing, but remember that he's partially responsible for his friend getting absorbed by the sixth angel.

I still feel a little sympathetic, but he's making it hard to get any closer with how he's acting.

[Computer Scientist]

Three of the four A.T. missiles connected!

I'm getting readings of massive structural instability throughout the 9th Angel's body mass!

W-wait! Is that Florence?!

What? You mean she reached the Angel while the missiles hit?!

[First Child]
I'm sorry, Major!

The Angel's blast completely destroyed my orbital equipment and I was coming in way too fast. I decided to attempt a landing on the Angel, but I couldn't stop before the missiles hit.

My Eva Unit is in bad shape, but I'm still able to fight. I think my positron rifle didn't survive the landing though.

What are your orders now?
>>
>>768364
Rip and tear, until it is done...

or just stab it with the prog knife. That thing can reliably penetrate AT fields right?
>>
>>768364
Oh thank god.

Alright Florence, I want to you to clear a line of fire on that angel. Remove as much of the plating as you can from the lower portion to give the fighter squadron a chance at piercing it.

Watch your footing, because re-entry at that height is deadly.

Squadron, fire into the gap the eva makes. Take out one of the cores, and avoid the positron shot that will come from the surface.

What is the eta on that positron cannon?
>>
>>768364
If anything comes to worse, does the entry plug have a parachute?
>>
>>768364
Wow, you actually managed to land on it after all that? Impressive. Do you still have your Prog Knife? You might be able to finish it off, even without the rifle.

[Head: Science Division]
There's no need to penetrate an AT field, Major. The A.T. Missiles did their job and the Angel won't be able to regenerate its own field.

The downside is that since Eva 08 was in direct contact with the explosion it now is also unable to use its AT field. Quite the predicament, we wanted to use it to protect Eva 08 from it's fall. Now we'll have to improvise.

>>768398
[Head: R&D]
Almost ready, Major.

The Sixth Child says he's sorry about earlier, right Carl?

>Y-yes, I'm sorry.

Good. You should be.

>>768420
[Captain: Bomber wing]
No, but it comes with a emergency rocket-based ejection system. Maybe we could use it to kill the entry plug's velocity.

I can also take off right now and try to catch the First Child with the Eva Cradle you installed on Chariot. Be warned: it will certainly damage both the Unit and the plane.
>>
>>768508
I'd rather have a failsafe if it comes to that. Please, get the EVA cradle set up for re-entry, I trust your flight capabilities.

Just keep yourself steady Carl. Aim once the squadron has cleared the angel, and EVA 08 is out of the way.

4th to 5th iterations are rough but somewhat better for clothing and hair detail.

Stupid idea for EVA re-entry :

Jump on one or two fighter and try to use their thermic shield to protect the EVA during the re-entry.

Florence would surf on the atmosphere, using a fighter as a board until the re-entry is completed.

Then, I suppose Unit 08's servomotors should be enough to absorb the impact at a normal velocity.

We could eject Florence just before she hit the ground.
>>
>>770300
Why not just use the Angel as a shield?
>>
>>770318
Because Angels are highly explosives when they die.

We could still use it before killing it.
>>
>>770324
Alternatively, since the Angel seems to be rather flat, Florence could try to make it pitch back and use it's aerodynamic properties to slow down the descent.

That depends on what size an EVA is actually.

For the most part a fighter jet would only be the length of the EVA's arm or foot. So basically you're attempting to surf your entire size on the equivalent of clown shoes.

You must still be in that mentality of "all giant stuff is 50 feet tall" or something.

So would you guys prefer to have long sessions once per week like we used to or would you prefer short, frequent updates?
>>
>>775979
We've lost control of our life.
>>
>>777499
I don't like getting caught off-guard with sudden frequent updates outside of appointed sessions.

Then again, two shorter sessions is easier in *some ways* than dedicating a Saturday afternoon onwards.

Speaking aside, is there a reason why the character portraits are generally tinted in blue?
>>
>>777499
I for one would prefer long sessions at Saturday or Friday. That way it's easier to participate in my timezone.
>>
>>778089

>>778093

>>

>>
>>778089
>Speaking aside, is there a reason why the character portraits are generally tinted in blue?

It's faster to draw the portraits that way and easier to make them fit with each other. And it's also a small nod to the blue-tinted scenes in End of Evangelion. Totally unintentional, but still.
>>
>>778101
Sepia is is what's done for Cave STG games, and Under Defeat, to a degree.
