General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics are up in the air. Suggestions are welcome. We'll be trying some new things out so I appreciate your patience as we fine tune it. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. I also want to try a more varied turn system so you and your opponent can do a few things in a row more often. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Budew)

Recently: You went clothes shopping with your friends, encountered some unfriendly locals, and are battling Jane and doing a pretty good job of it too, despite her Pokemon's training and moves. At least, so far.

Bella, despite her relative inexperience, was able to slowly but surely wear down her opponent, Tyrogue. Neither Pokemon was knocked out, but if it had gone on, you think Bella would have won. A sense of pride swells in your chest.

But Jane retrieved her Tyrogue and sent out Fletchling. It perches itself up on one of the two, knee-high metal barriers that are in the small battle area. The area itself is surrounded by a thick but low wall of bricks, covered in cracks, burns and stains, and other signs of frequent use.

Jane narrows her sharp eyes at Bella and takes a commanding pose. She actually looks really cool right now. “Fletching! You know what to do!” Jane says.

Wait! What’s that in Fletching’s mouth? A berry! A Liechi Berry! But why?

You need to switch Pokemon, but to who? She’s used one unusual move so far, so you have to assume she could have another up her sleeve.

“Bella! Return!” You retrieve her just as Fletchling takes off. “Go, Mace!”

Mace appears ready to fight! Just as he’s on the scene, Fletching bounces off of his back with a Peck. It doesn’t seem to hurt all that much at all. You notice that Mace rebalances himself a little and there’s an almost imperceptible bit of light that comes from his ear-face when he does.

“Hmph.” Jane puts one hand on her hip. “You’re going to regret that.” You catch her sneaking a peak at her Pokedex.

Mace looks ready and eager to prove himself. His little feet quickly bounce around as he gets ready to get at it.

Mace hasn’t had a chance to show anything off since his last battle. He might have some new tricks.

Jane looks scary in her determination. She’s put a lot of thought and effort into what she’s doing.

“You’ve been spending your time with games. We’ve been training and covering every possibility!” She proudly proclaims. “I believe in you, Fletchling! Natural Gift!”

Fletchling gulps down it’s berry and comes zooming down at Mace.

“Rock Blast! Hurry!”

Fletchling is just too fast. Mace is hit with what looks like an incredible, green blow. It’s a distinctly grass type attack. Mace goes rolling backwards and into the brick siding along the edge of the arena.

“Good job, Fletchling, now let’s-”

Mace gets up and shakes himself before firing off Rock Blast. He gets a few good hits in before Fletchling dives behind the metal plating.

Bits of white energy pop around Mace. He looks like he’s having trouble controlling it. It’s like he has too much energy and he’s leaking it. Health-wise, he’s looking almost completely done.

“Give it up, John. It’s over. Don’t make your Pokemon pay for it.”

You look at Mace. He’s tripping over himself. Every time he’s about to fall over, a bit of white energy bursts out of his face or his limbs to right himself. It reminds you of that space lander computer game. He goes a little too strong and pushes himself back a few inches.

Jane uses her hand to signal Fletchling to hold off on it’s next attack. “Looks like he’s got too much energy.” She glances to you. “Just how negligent are you?”

You remember something from your Pokedex saying that when they have excess energy, it forms crystals and it evolves. Is that what that white energy is?

The injured Fletchling flies up high. Jane has her finger up, waiting to give her consent to attack again. The berry is gone. Fletchling looks pretty roughed up, too. If it were evolved and part Fire, it’d probably be out. You could still win this if you get really lucky.

>Don’t give up! Try Rock Blast again! Hope the distance makes up for the difference in speed. (really difficult)
>Call off the match. You’re just proud of your Pokemon for doing their best, and Mace might need a Pokemon center.
>Whisper to Mace to fire all his excess energy in one direction (Less difficult, but likely to make him faint)

>>

>Whisper to Mace to fire all his excess energy in one direction (Less difficult, but likely to make him faint)
Normally I wouldn't vote for the suicide attack, but this sounds like it will happen often so this might be a chance for Mace to eventually learn how to let off the energy (hopefully without fainting).
>>
>Whisper to Mace to fire all his excess energy in one direction (Less difficult, but likely to make him faint)
Sending a weak grass type vs. a flying type? No thanks. Alpha-strike, all or nothing!

>>765695

[I want John to grow into a strong young man of good character with a solid team, even if his character growth comes at the low price of losing to someone like Jane. Jane used to interest me more as a player but the past thread has caused me to dismiss her a bit. I hope John just respectfully ignores her, now.

That said, I'm excited about this battle because it's been a good challenge and it is an opportunity for John to say, "You know what? My team did great and really stepped up to the plate. I'm going to make sure I always do the same for them."

I don't think John needs to necessarily express his strength in battling, though, and that's not the angle I personally foresee his character development going. I like the idea of acting like a Ranger, but I don't know what John will end up passionate about so I'm also excited at the prospect of him finding something worth fighting for.]

Encourage Mace to let out that energy. No sense in trying out some untested new attack, assuming it's even an attack, on a low stakes match.
>>
>>765778
>Call off the match. You’re just proud of your Pokemon for doing their best, and Mace might need a Pokemon center
There's not really much that Bella can do to Fletchling in her injured state without risking serious damage, so we may as well just let it go.

“Mace, do you want to continue?”

Mace gives a sloppy nod as he stumbles forward.

“Alright! Let’s do it, then!”

“You negligent...little...Ugh! Fletchling! Tackle! Take it out quickly!” Jane yells at the same time you’re whispering your command to Mace. You instruct him to to focus all of his leaking energy at one point.

Fletchling comes flying in. It all happens so fast, but it’s amazing. Mace puts up his legs and the limb on the top of his head and all that energy focuses out in one direction. Mace goes flying back like a rocket just in time to dodge Fletchling. The red bird smacks into the bricks behind where Mace was.

Mace comes to a rolling stop a good distance away, taps the other brick wall, then falls over. He’s completely out.

You retrieve him. “That was really good.”

Fletchling stumbles all over the ground, looking dizzy. A stray feather falls off.

“Fletchling!” Jane growls at you as she retrieves her Pokemon. “I can’t believe you’re so low to use Roggenrola like that. He was just being brave for you! Not that you deserve it!” She holds her Pokeball close. “You’re a real piece of work, you know that? Is your Pokemon even alright?”

She reaches for her Tyrogue’s ball as you reach for Bella’s.

“I was just doing what Mace wanted.”

She scoffs. “Can’t you tell the difference between a Pokemon that’s still fit for battle and one that’s pushing themselves too hard?”

Her insistence on the issue is shaking your confidence. “I-I can. Mace was standing up! He wanted to battle. I’m sure of it! And what about Tyrogue?”

Tyrogue and Bella appear on the field.

“Tyrogue is worn down, but it’s nowhere near the same.” She stomps. “I’m sick of you playing stupid! You played on my sympathy to beat Fletchling. Tyrogue, let’s teach them a lesson!”

He takes a determined fighting pose. He’s worn down, but he’s looking really pumped and motivated.

“I can feel it. You’re close, aren’t you? You and I have been working hard. We won’t let some underhanded, elitist mainlander like this win with his tricky ways.” She takes on a determined smile.

Belladonna is looking good. She’s not at full health, but she’s only moderately worn down compared to Tyrogue. Her attitude is less confident, though. Her opponent still has a lot of experience on her.

“Didn’t you grow up on the mainlaind too?” You remember being told she had one mainlander parent.

“Shut up! Tyrogue! Fake out! Use all the power and determination you have!”

Tyrogue moves so fast he nearly teleports to Belladona, smacking her and making her flinch.

Then he begins to glow.

“Yes! Yes!” Jane cheers. Bella uses Mega Drain on him as it’s happening, but it doesn’t stop him. She gets back a little bit of the health lost from Fake Out, though.

Tyrogue fully evolves into Hitmonlee! He kicks at the air, testing out his new form.

Bella backs away.

But you can also see how work down he his. He can’t last much longer. Bella is hurt, too, but she has a lot more health than him. You can still win this with some luck. But since you don’t have luck, you’ll have to substitute pluckiness instead.

“Let’s try some combos, Hitmonlee.”

Jane is ecstatic. “Way to go! I’m so proud of you!” You realize this is the first time you’ve seen her smile. You like her better this way. Her eyes are really shining and she looks cool. You feel a bit self-concious.

“Wow! Congratulations on the evolution!”

Jane’s smile vanishes. “I’m not letting you make me drop my guard again, coward! Hitmonlee, let’s finish this!”

“Bella! Mega Drain! Strong as you can!”

“Hitmonlee, do you have any new moves?”

It nods. The body language suggests he thinks so. It walks forward as Bella uses Mega Drain. He stumbles, but keeps going. He quickly picks up speed, spins, and delivers a horrifyingly powerful Mega Kick!

Bella’s tiny body is sent directly into the brick wall on the other side of the arena, where the impact loosens a few. She flops onto the ground.

She lays there for a minute before trying to get up and failing.

“It’s okay, Bella.” You run over. “You did well.”

Bella smiles up at you weakly. She’s glad you’re happy. Her gaze turns to something over your shoulder. You look up and see Jane.

Yes, but they were pretty high level, relatively.
Bella's not long hatched. Not much above level 5.
Her Tyrogue started the battle at 19. Her Fletchling was probably lower, but not too much so.
It's not an exact measurement quest-game, but that's still a phenomenal performance from Mace and especially Bella.

>>767386
Fletchling learns Nature power at 29, so unless she used a TM for it it's a LOT stronger than we are.

She smugly looks down on you. “I guess good old fashioned training and hard work beats your-”

“That was a good battle.” You get up and extend your hand. She instinctively moves to put her fist up, but you catch her hand and shake it, confusing her.

“I-I-I-”

“I guess you don’t want to get ice cream after I go to the pokemon center, am I right?”

Her eyes are darting all around your face, analyzing and double analyzing what you’re saying. “...No?”

“Great! I’ll see you there!” You grab your pokeballs and start to go.

Jane is about to go when Laki stops her. “Forgetting our match?”

Jane’s confused look disappears as she looks up to Laki. “Still eager to get your butt kicked, huh? Or are you going to choke?”

Laki gets right in her face. The two stand chest to chest. From here, they almost look related. They both have relatively short hair for girls. They’re both very physically fit (although Laki is still obviously more so) and they both have a look on their face like they want to destroy the other one. The biggest differences are that Laki is bigger (in every way) and their complexion.

You guess you’ll find out who won after. You run down to the Pokemon center and the nurse takes them to get healed. Gobble remains on your belt.

Keira and Hana followed you. Keira’s wearing the sundress now. “That was an exciting match.”

You turn to the nurse and mention Mace’s energy. She assures you that they scan for any diseases or issues every time, and she’ll let you know if she sees anything.

“When did you get changed?” You ask Keira

Keira smiles. “While you were fighting. I missed some of it. My hair got caught pulling it on.”

Hana presses her fingers together. “I was also distracted.” She mumbles.

Huh. That’s a shame. You’re really proud of how well your Pokemon did. “Do you two want to come get ice cream too?”

Keira snickers. “Mainland style? I’ve only had it once before. We’re not supposed to.” Her voice is low and her eye are wide. “That’s really naughty.”

“I love ice cream.” Hana says, excited. “They always served a cup at the hospit... I like ice cream!”

“Awesome!” You pause. “Hey, what do you two think about Jane?”

“She’s really conflicted.” Keira tells you as she starts to re-arrange pins on the billboard. She’s making an arrow. “I don’t think she likes you very much. I’ve seen a lot of people like her. People that get concerned and judgmental about the rules and traditions without understanding the meaning behind them. That’s what she reminds me of.”

“I’ve read some girls will bully a guy that they like.” Hana says offhandedly. “Not that I think that’s what she’s doing.” She throws her hands up. “I just mean that she seems to put a lot of thought into what you do. I didn’t really understand why she wanted to battle before. I wish she could get along with everyone.”

Before you forget, you ask if they know about the mushroom money. Hana and Keira exchange a look. “Laki and Valerie sold them. Didn’t they give you your share?”

You get your Pokemon back from the nurse. She confirms that there’s nothing wrong on the scan they do. “Nothing that comes up, anyway. Your Roggenrola is in great health. But if you want, you can see Professor Palm about it. I can call and see when he’s free for a meeting.”

You ask her to schedule a meeting with the professor, just to be safe. She dials him and starts chatting.

“Is tomorrow morning okay?”

She asks, then gives you a nod. “He says any time tomorrow morning is fine. Just come by whenever.”

“Thanks! Should I do anything in the meantime?”

“Relax.” she tells you. “Go be a young person and have some fun. Your pokemon is fine.”

That makes you feel better. You’ll be able to completely put it out of your mind after tomorrow, though. With that scheduled, you head off.

Your Pokemon follow you. Mace, Gobble, and Bella. Mace seems fine. At least, until Gobble says something. Then mace looks angry.

“Gobble! Don’t be mean. Mace did his best” Keira admonishes.

Gobble gives Mace a playful jab. Mace gives him a headbutt. They’re just messing with each other.

“Oh.” Keira says. “I guess I have a lot to learn about boys. Even pokemon boys.”

The three of you arrive at the ice cream shop. Jane is there, waiting with folded arms.

“How did your battle go?” Keira asks.

Jane opens the door and you all go in. She’s still eying you up and down, waiting for some trap. “I won. She got upset and left. The other one followed.”

The ice cream shop owner greets you and shows you the selection. Keira is happy to see some sort of traditional island ice cream among the options and orders that after some internal debate. Hana orders, then Jane.

Keira once again forgets that she has no money, but the shop keeper lets her have it for free. She thanks him and offers to examine his shop for haunting, which he’s happy to have done. Just in case. She makes her way to his back room.

You, Jane, and Hana sit at the table with your ice cream. Jane’s sharp eyes dig into you.

“So. what flavor is your favorite?”

She eyes you suspiciously.

“My favorite is Rocky Road.” You tell her, sharing first so she’ll relax a bit.

“Same.” She shows you her cone.

“Chocolate Chip cookie dough.” Hana says quietly. You nod. That’s a respectable choice. You’re pretty laid back about most things people choose for themselves, but if any of them chose something like pistachio you’d need to give the misguided poor soul an intervention.

Jane nods her approval at Hana’s choice too. Her composure reminds you of an old samurai movie where they’re discussing techniques.

There’s another awkward silence. You can hear Keira loudly chant something in the other room.

“So, tell me about yourself.”

Jane looks at you again. “You first.”

Okay. Jeez. “Well. My mom works for the company that processes vispum.” You start. You go into detail about the move and your old life. Nothing too big, just where you grew up, that you have siblings, your grandparents, stuff like that.

When you’re doing, you realize Jane has been taking notes. “Hmm? My turn? Well, fair is fair.” She tells you where she grew up. It’s actually not far from where you did. “This is all public record information. I guess there’s no harm in it.” She tells you about here parents. They’re divorced. A mainlander dad and islander mom. She chose to live with her dad until she was old enough for her journey, at which time she changed her mind and decided to come to the islands and find her true self. “I’m sure you already have a dossier on me, speculating the reasons.”

“I really don’t.” You try to convince her. She just gives you a sly look, like she’s trying to say sarcastically “sure you don’t. I believe you. This is my believing face.”

Hana coughs and chokes on her ice cream.

“Well I’m not playing ball.”

“All clear!” Keira comes back, giving the grateful shopkeeper the good news and receiving her island style ice cream. “What does playing ball mean?”

Hana explains it’s a mainlander phrase. Jane looks uncomfortable at watching the reminder that she’s still very much an outsider here.

“So did Laki say when she’d be back?” You try to break the awkwardness again.

Jane turns her head. “No. But it’s not like her word means anything. Knowing her she’s going to take her loss as badly a possible and be an embarrassment to the region.”

Mace and Bella are sitting on the floor just hanging around, but Gobble is standing beside you, staring.

“Oh! I’m sorry, Gobble. Let me get you some.” You order some more for Gobble with your remaining money. You check with the others just in case, but they don’t want any. Bella has a small appetite and Mace seems to prefer fried foods.

As you’re feeding Gobble, a sudden thought strikes you. “Keira, is this okay? Eating mainland ice cream and all?”

She waves off your concern. “It’s only a priestess rule. One that I never understood.” She thinks. “Actually. It’s just for buying it. It’s okay if it’s going to go to waste.” She’s eyeing your cone. You feel a little bit drip down your hand and reach for a napkin to wipe it off. Keira stops you and just sucks it right off your finger. “That’s sooo good.”

Hana’s cone explodes in her hand. Keira eagerly attacks her hands..

It’s about time to take off, but before you see Jane out, you have to know something. “You and Laki don't seem to get along very well. Did something happen between you two?"

“She never said anything?” Jane eyes you up and down. “Alright. I’ll tell you. But first, I need something from you. An insurance policy. A secret. Something I can have in my back pocket just in case this is a trick.”

Natural jorts, as in what happens when you wear a pair of jeans so long the holes in the knees wrap all the way around and the bottom falls off, are perfectly fine. Daisy dukes are top-tier.

“Alright. But this stays between us.”

Her suspicious eyebrow raises.

You glance and Keira and Hana. Keira’s still got Hana’s full attention by licking the ice cream off her hand.

“Oh no!” You tell Hana. “There’s a bunch on your new shirt, too.” You hope that comes out. She just got it.

You turn your attention back to Jane. She gives you a funny look. “What?”

“You have them all wrapped around your little finger, don’t you, you Tepig?”

“I really don’t have any idea what you’re talking about.” Why is she so insistent on this? You’re just worried about her shirt. You look over to them. What could be so- Oh. Keira really likes ice cream and will suck it right out of the fabric.

“Alright.” You turn back to Jane as you gently pat Gobbles head while he struggles with brain freeze. He’s making a high pitched noise that sounds slightly more relieved from the slight pressure. ”I’ve got something.”

You sigh and whip it out. The picture of your greatest mistake in judgment. “Store-bought, acid wash jean shorts, and socks with sandals.”

Jane examines the picture briefly, then snatches it from your hands.

“Hey!”

“Relax.” She tells you. “I’m a person of my word. I’ll tell you everything.” She looks around, then drags you to the back room. The shopkeeper doesn’t seem to care.

She sighs. “I used to be her biggest fan. She’s only a few years older, but I saw her as this big hero. She was representing our islands in the international games! And she was so young. I wasn’t dumb for looking up to her. Just naive.” She shakes her head. “Anyway. My parents were thinking of getting back together. They both agreed to take me to the games. Things were going well. We were laughing. Remembering the good times. They played our anthem at the games. And then Laki choked. She flubbed it completely.”

“Everyone makes mistakes.”

Jane almost kicks a freezer, but stops herself. “That’s what I told her. She didn’t even look at me. You know what she said? She said she didn’t want me as a fan! Who tells that to the actual president of her fan club?” Jane looks really worked up now. “She didn’t pick herself up and try again. By the rules she had another try. Everyone forgets that. But she just walked out. She gave up and spent the rest of her time being a lazy, debauched, feckless punk.” Jane looks away. “She never cared about representing the islands or her fans or anything.”

I feel when the stakes are that high you take the second shot, she kind of ran from it and has been sortof half assing everything since.

You can tell really, Laki's easily mad but her answer for goals is kind of "Yeah im not getting anywhere remotely related to this anymore".

She's being selfish and dumb, but we don't have to tell her that right now. John should just keep his mouth shut about this.
>>
>>769275
I have a feeling that Laki meant she didn't deserve fans at all.

>>
>>769315
>Shes the definition of hasbeen and it probbably got jane's parents divorced.

Marriages don't fall apart because the athlete you both like loses. Jane might see Laki that way, but if her parents got divorced, there was a lot more going on.

Laki has literally nothing to do with Jane's parents getting divorced.
>>

>slap her in the face
How goddamn selfish do you have to be to walk up to someone in what is quite probably the most shameful, self-hating moment of their life and expect THEM to be considerate of YOU.

How dense do you have to be to interpret "I don't want you as a fan" in such a context to be a slight against YOU, not an admission of THEIR unworthiness?
>>
>>769328

>How dense do you have to be to interpret "I don't want you as a fan" in such a context to be a slight against YOU, not an admission of THEIR unworthiness?
Phrasing. Had she simply said she didn't deserve or want fans in general, that's one thing. But when you single someone out, "I don't want YOU as a fan", well its hard to not take it personally.
>>
>>769380
I mean, it's possible that's not how Laki said it at all. Jane does seem to be the sort of person who jumps at shadows when she's upset.

That said, if that really is how Laki reacted, then I can see where kid-Jane would take that personally. Jane can be selfish and abrasive, but Laki can be the same way at times. It sounds like Jane saw her at her worst and has it in her head that that's just how she is.
>>
>>769402
Possibly, but if Laki's feelings having crossed her mind after all this time, she's still really selfish.
>>
>>769402
Jane probably saw her at her worst and clung to that impression.

That said, I could see Laki being abrasive. Both of them have their own points of fault. Jane needs to learn to rise above the hostility she receives as an alternative response rather than just lashing out.
>>
>>769413
>>769417
I agree completely.
>>
>>769380
>I'd be mad as fuck and hold a grudge as well.
Then you're a dick. Hell, had the two of them ever even spoken at that point? Why would the consolations (condescension) of a stranger matter to an emotionally distraught child? Why the fuck would anyone respond well to someone you don't even know acting like they should be important to you?

This might just be my autism speaking, but I can relate strongly to just saying "I fucked it up, it's over" and shutting down even when there's still a chance to unfuck myself. That thinking cost me my college degree and several relationships. Sometimes you don't WANT to be picked up, because it means you can fall again. Sometimes you just want to put your head down on the desk and feign deafness until people forget you and stop looking with disappointed eyes.

“She probably didn’t mean it that way.”

“She meant it every day she ignored her fan mail.” Jane glares at you. “I even overheard her say she never cared about the games. She just wanted sponsorships and free travel.”

Gobble waddles into the room, looking for more ice cream.

“Sorry, Gobble. This isn’t ours.”

He frowns.

“But I have some good, tasty, nutritious food for you.”

He lights up. You can’t help but laugh and smile as he eagerly tries to get you to hurry.

You thank Jane for sharing. She just gives you a funny look. “Don’t think you have me fooled like the others. But I have to admit, your cute little show here with Gobble looks pretty convincing.” She holds the photo of you in jorts. “I’ll hold onto this.” She smirks, but it turns into a genuine smile while she looks at it and holds back a laugh. “Hmm. Maybe there’s a chance you’re just a...nah.” Her guard goes back up.

The two of you walk out towards the door.

“I won, by the way.”

“You won?”

“You could have found this information from studying old footage or asking around or any number of ways. But this? The only place I’d find something this big is in your pants-”

Hana, who was recovered and having a normal conversation with Keira and coming over to you, stumbles.

“...pocket.” Jane slides the picture into her pocket. “Get a badge under your belt and maybe I’ll consider letting you have a rematch. By then me and my pokemon will earn three!” Jane leaves with your great shame.

You quickly feed Gobble as well as Mace and Bella before deciding your next course of action. It’s getting late. Keira’s buzzing from the ice cream and Hana looks zoned out.

Are we going to travel with 2 or 3 companions?
>>
>>770285
I'd go with three, I think.
>>
>>770285
Either 2 or one overgroup that splits into different, smaller groups of 2-4 for differing interests.
>>
>>770298
Probably going by interest is the best but... what are we going to do? Are we going for contest or badges or just traveling?
>>
>>770301
Interest is more than just that. But as a general thing I think we should try them both then decide. Some anons really seem to hate the idea of contest, but there isn't any harm in trying one.
>>
>>770301
I figure we'll try each at least once and see which ones we want to keep trying at.
>>
>>770308
It's funny how will Jane react if we go full contest and don't get a single badge
>>
I think that Herb and his pokemon do seem to really enjoy battling. Contests would probably take a backseat.
>>
>>770350
Contest have battles in them, also they have only tried Battles.
>>
John seems like he'll be trying a bit of everything to see what sticks. All his pokemon seem to enjoy battling so far, so that's probably never going to be entirely off the table, but I could also see some of then being up for contests. Bella would probably love all the attention, and if the restraint he showed while mushroom hunting is anything to go by, Gobble is a really well behaved Munchlax. I could see him doing well in contests, too. Plus, we still need to get him into a tiny tux.

This is why I'd like to run with the three I like most: Valerie can be our contest friend, Keira can be our lore friend and probably also battle, and Hana seems like she's not against battling, but she strikes me as more of a potential pokemon ranger so far.

With those three, we get a little bit of everything. Obviously Polu and Laki are more focused on battling, so I'm thinking they would both make great rivals for us. We're probably going to run into them pretty often, and they can be a constant challenge for us; a hurdle we have to clear that gets bigger as we get stronger.

That's how I'd like it to go down, anyway. That would be the most in line with my interests.
>>
>>770373
I don't think we should have a static group. We go with whoever wants to. Sometimes this will mean camping with Keira, training with Polu, practicing routines with Valerie, etc. Other people may want to go hang out with each other also.
>>
>>770379
While this does seem more realistic than a static group, if we do this, we get less character development opportunities, as the development will be wide, over a bunch of characters, rather than deep, over a few. But I like the idea.
>>
>>770379

Oh, I have no doubt we'll hang out with the others pretty frequently, too. I don't think there's a single friendly character who isn't liked by at least most of us. I was talking about our main group, and I think those three would be best for that. They've got a good dynamic between the three of them that none of them really share with Laki or Polu yet.
>>
>>770393
It just means it would be more spread over time, we can still have deep character moments with people. Also five or six including Jane isn't much more than three.
>>
>>769779
Hana is worst girl. She's missing half the parts to even be a person.
>>
>>769782
Laki a best. Also anything that would piss off Jane is just icing on the cake.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That's a good point, and bullying John has some very real potential. Still, Keira can do that alone if need be, and I like Hana and Valerie more than I like Laki.

But an ideal situation would be Valerie going full rich girl and gently teasing John instead. Or maybe both of them.

>>770508
I mean, I'd mostly just like to thin the herd a bit, but you're not wrong. I'm also doing that.

>>
>>770519

>>
>>770523
We can't drop Hana
>>
>>770519
Eh, I'd be satisfied with that. Two out of three is fine, and it's not like I dislike Laki.
>>
>>770527
Terrible waifu material. Retread of Robin, now with more suffering.

Might be good for comedic value.
>>
I really hope the others have their own opinions of who they want to go with.
>>
I think we shouldn't rule anything out yet. Even Jane. Things will happen as they happen, and it's our job to guide Herb into as many lewd situations as possible, only to be frustrated as he flubs them or ignores the obvious.
>>
>>770551
For that we need to always be near Hana and get into as many lewd situations as possible until she thinks that Herb is doing it on purpose.
>>
>>770530
Now that's what I call edgy!

>>770546
Yeah, I hope so too. That would only make sense. I have a feeling they will.

I like Laki and Hana best, I consider Valerie and Keira bro tier but I am interested in Keira. I'd love to travel with Jane if we can just get past her, she is denser than a harem protagonist. Also Polu is great I want more of him and more battles love me some hard work, determination and bonding in the heat of battle.

Also who is everyone's favorite game protagonist and Rival, mine is Gold and Green/Blue

>>
>>770578
I meant that her reacting to everything like it's innuendo was funny. Hence the comedic value.

I don't like her as a waifu choice and that's primarily because I think she's boring, not because she has prosthetics.

>>770581

I like Hana for the travel party and maybe two more companions is how we should do it. I like Valerie too, that rich girl type is interesting.

>>

To be fair, John does have like 50 people planning his every move. His very nature as a quest protagonist makes him a fair bit more competent than he might otherwise be. And we do a fair bit of planning.
>>
So on a different note, how do you think Gobble is going to implement John's bad luck?
>>
>>770687
Jane is simply the protagonist of a different quest. She's angry, paranoid, and lonely. It all makes sense.

I wonder if she'll get a harem...
>>
>>770690
Putting us in more bad situations and having rolls we fail be slightly worse.
>>
>>770690
Well, Jane is totally fixated in us in a bad way. And we fell in the cave. And maybe Laki spent our mushrom money thinking that we got our share already.

Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Budew)

“I think I’m going to go look for Laki and Valerie.”

“Are you sure? It’s pretty late and you have that appointment tomorrow.” Hana asks.

“Yeah.” After your talk with Jane you just feel like it’s a good idea. Who knows what her and Valerie are up to. You’re about to get your Pokemon ready when you see Keira is squatting down and nodding at Mace as he seems to pantomime something. “I see. I see.”

“What’s Mace saying?”

She looks up. “He feels like he didn’t do a good job in his battle. His opponent hit harder than he expected. So he wants to get stronger. But he’s worried that getting stronger means more energy problems.”

You look down to Mace.

“Don’t worry.” You lean down and pat Mace on the head. “When it comes to the energy, we’ll see the professor and figure things out. The nurse said she wasn’t worried about it.”

Mace seems to look relieve about that. He also seems embarrassed about the topic in general, though. But his adamant nature keeps him from being too embarrassed and wanting change the subject.

“And I’m proud of you and Bella for how well you did. You did great against a strong opponent.”

He considers the words, but isn’t totally convinced.

“I know it was a flying type, but typing isn’t everything. It did get knocked out thanks to you. Really, I’m very proud of you.”

Mace looks up, then poses excitedly. Bella tries to mimic the pose and trips. Gobble just sits there picking food from his fur.

You try to figure out the best way to find Laki. The ice cream shop owner says he saw the battle and that Laki and the girl with the golden hair like you went to the Spirit Woods.

“There’s a circling path that goes through it to the water’s edge.” Keira tells you.

“Are there... you know, spirits?”

Keira gives you a funny look, like you asked a trick question. “Of course. There are always spirits.”

Hana whispers to Keira.

“Oh! No. It’s not usual to see Ghost Pokemon there. It’s called the Spirit Woods because the wood in the trees are used for rafts guiding spirits.” Keira smiles, but then it suddenly fades. She looks concerned. “How do spirits from where you're from find their way?” She waves it off. “Nevermind. I’m sure you have customs for it. I didn’t mean to question your beliefs.” She starts walking away.

“You’re not coming?”

Hana and Keira exchange a look. “Did you want us to?” they both yawn, almost in unison.

“What? No. That’s fine. You two go sleep.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’d be scared going alone.” Hana says. “I watched the Blair Jynx the other night.”

“Pssh. Yeah. Totally. What? It’s not like I’m a little kid scared to go into the woods alone at night. Pssh. No way.” You puff your less than muscular chest out.

Hana and Keira exchange another look. Keira approaches. “Hold out your hand.”

You hold out your hand. Keira takes out her brush and and makes a few precise and dabs and lines, then a few lines on your face. She licks her thumb and corrects one, then steps back. “Hold up your arm.”

You hold up your arm so that your forearm is next to your face. “Perfect!”

Hana looks like she’s about to say something, but Keira covers her mouth. “Okay! You’re protected! Go have fun!” She drags Hana away, snickering and giggling.

You’re sure that’s nothing to worry about. “Come on, team! Let’s go!” You and your Pokemon start marching down the path in the woods. There are light stands once in awhile, but they’re pretty dim and far apart. Seems like they get farther apart the deeper in you go.

Huh. Can’t really hear the sounds of the town anymore. You and your pokemon’s feet walking down the path seem like the loudest sound now. You’re glad they’re with you here.

Some leaves shuffle in the wind.

Heh. So Hana say the Blair Jynx huh? You remember that one. Those woods looked a little like this, but it’s more like that scene from-

Something cracks off in the distance.

That could be anything. You don’t worry about it. Bella looks up at you as she waddles along. She’s keeping close. Gobble too, although he’s putting up the pretense of looking for food.

You look ahead. There are two lights out along the path before it twists around a corner in the tree line.

“Ha!” you puff your chest out. “Don’t be afraid, you guys. There’s nothing to fear!” Your voice comes out as almost cartoonish.

You take a deep breath. They’re all looking to you to lead. This is what being a trainer is all about. You put one foot in front of the other in a calm, steady pace. Your head is up and you resist the urge to glance around constantly.

Bella smiles as she keeps up alongside. Mace and Gobble follow well, too.

Ha! You get to the other light just fine! Your Pokemon are confident in you. This is great. You knew there was nothing to be scared of. You’re brave! You’re tough! You-

Something moves in the bushes to your right. Your Pokemon all turn to face it in unison. You can’t be too sure, but it almost faintly sounds like there’s a voice coming from it. That could just be the wind, though.

“Hello?” You say quietly.

There’s no response.

I should like to think if we changed POV we would get to play as Gobble for a little while. As the most senior member of our party, it would fall to him to take charge and rescue us.

And while we may be excited about catching a ghost soon, let's not forget that John hadn't caught any pokemon in the traditional way yet, and it's something I really like about him. We always ask first, or in Bella's case, we didn't exactly take her from the wild.

“Hello?” You start walking towards it. “Is anyone there?”

There’s no answer. You slowly make your way forward. “Laki? Valerie?”

Still no answer. You keep going. You’re brave. You just walked through the dark like it was no big deal. You can handle some mystery bush.

“Jane?”

Something flies out at you, knocking you back. You manage to avoid face planting or landing awkwardly, though.

You can only see dark eyes as it takes a position in the trees. It looks down at you. Wait! It has something! Your Pokedex! You can see the small lights blinking on it up in the tree.

“I-I command you in the name of... umm. Uhh...” You show it the symbol on your forearm.

That seems to set it off. It instantly caws and swoops at you, leaving the Pokedex up in the tree.

I just really, really hate Keira for some reason. Every time she says or does something I just want to grab Mace and smash him into her face over and over again.

“Wait! What about a trade?

The pokemon pauses. It watches you with interest.

“See this?” You show it a fork. It’s a small travel one that folds up. “I’ll give you this instead.”

It’s eyes go wide at the folding fork. It watches with incredible interest as you fold and unfold it.

“What do you say?

The...whatsitcalled, Murkrow! That’s it. It swoops down and takes the fork. It plays with it for a bit before looking back at you.

“Does that mean a trade?”

It nods and caws at your stuff in it’s branch. It takes off into the night with it’s new shiny fork.

“Well, I guess I-”

Tonk! Something hits you in the head. You bend down and pick it up. It’s a Moon Stone! Another caw echoes out from the sky. The sound grows distant as the Pokemon leaves.

You don't know why, but you get the feeling this won't be the last time you see that Pokemon.

You pocket the moon stone and look up at your stuff in the branch. You don’t think Murkrow is interested in this stuff anymore.

You gracefully leap up the tree. You just sort of operate on instinct, finding one branch with your hand, and another with your foot in the dark. Up, hup, bup!

And you’re up! You pocket your pokedex and the spice. You’d hate to lose the spice, but on top of that, these are from a rack set.

Just as you’re about to climb down, you spot a bunch of berries hanging off the tree. They have a strong, citrusy smell.

You grab those from the tree and hop down. These could come in handy.

You keep going down the path with your Pokemon in tow. It’s still dark and there are strange noises but you feel a little more confident now thanks to your encounter. You can’t help but wonder about why it attacked in the first place, though. Keira said your symbol was supposed to protect you.

There’s another rustle in another bush. You stumble and try not to squeak.

“Hello?” You get off the path again and head towards the bush. “Hello, is anybody there?”

“Shoft Hams!” Laki appears from the bush. As she leaps out, she slips on her track pants and falls right towards you. You barely catch her in time and swing her around in your arms into a bridal carry. You look out at the darkness. There’s a slope there that you could have been knocked down. You don’t need another round of that with Laki.

“Woah!” Laki proclaims louder than she probably intended. “Don’t want to go down there!”

You adjust to keep her steady in your arms.

“You know, soft hands.” Her finger lazily lands on your chest. “I’m starting to think *hic* to think you’re some sort of secret badass. I’m not yooshed *hic* to feeling like a helpless little girl.” She puts her mouth by your ear. “I think I like it.”

Oh jeez oh man she’s warm and close and her arms are around your neck. You gently set her on her feet. “Where’s Valerie?”

“Oh yeeeeeeeeaaaah!” She gasps. “We got sheperarghdadd.”

“Separated?”

“Yeah!" Laki leans on you again. "She’s somewhere around here.”

Bella was scared, but followed your lead and feels there's nothing to worry about with you in charge. You were brave so she should be too.

Gobble was a little spooked, but the spookiest moment was when you almost lost that stuff you use to make food taste better. He's willing to bet that if he eats the whole thing at once he'll be transported to flavor heaven. (He is wrong.)

Mace is the bravest. He's not used to this sort of terrain though. There's a distinct lack of rock formations to go to if things go sideways. He saw how you traded with that Pokemon instead of fighting and it reminds him of how you fed him. He's been watching close and feels good about joining you. He was worried a human would just try to make him evolve or pick on him like his Boldore peers.

>>773498
>This quest is going to focus less on Hornbeam stuff and more on coming of age stuff

I'm really happy to hear that. A more down to earth story compared to world-shaking adventures is a nice change of pace, and so far you've done a good job of demonstrating something a lot of writers seem to miss: in a story, the stakes are what you make of them. An "important" event isn't necessarily going to change the world, but if it's important enough to the cast to change THEIR world, the stakes are still high. And a story like this can be just as compelling as something on a grander scale.

To take a cliché out of anime, sometimes the real treasure you find is realizing you've grown as a person and made great friends along the way. I really look forward to this quest every time it's about to come up, because it's just a fun, feel-good story with some endearing characters.

Also, on a less sappy note, I'm going to get around to writing that possibly-noncanon lewdbin tonight. I'll post it in here once it's done, but I'll probably throw it at you before I link it, just so I can be sure I've gotten certain details right.

That's one of the few possibilities she's never accounted for. Nobody could be that forward or lewd.

>>773550
>So on a scale of 1-10 1 being burns water and 10 being "makes Gordon Ramsey cry bitch tears of shame and joy" how good of a chef is herb?
Herb is an 8. Better than most people he'll meet, but there are world regional and world class chefs with a power level much higher than his that he couldn't compete with. There are some legendary recipes that he could unlock, though. He could likely do well in a Ramsey style show and have a realistic chance of being a contender.

>Where would he be on a similar fashion scale?
7. He's pretty good, but Valerie could be real competition. He'd be really notable in any contest he tries for, but regionally he hardly has it in the bag.

>Has herb made Gains for all the lifting and hitting things with his frying pan he's done lately?
A little. I know gains don't happen from like 2-3 events but for the sake of questing I'd say he's gotten subtle but still real gains.

>>773519
>>773525
To be perfectly frank if Herb were to constantly try to hit on Jane she'd see it as a power game and seduce the shit out of him.

>>773553
Yeah. There's always either a great butt and terrible face or great face and terrible butt.

>>773564
Bella is very happy. She's getting confused about her, though. But as long as Laki is around and glued to you she won't question it. Gobble is okay with it. If you stick with Laki she'll likely encourage you to make a lot of food and Gobble with like her through conditioning. Mace feels she's a strong ally. Mace isn't used to having friends so he's a bit weary, but so far you've shown him the power of friendliness over just plain bravery and he's being won over.

>Gobble, when you write the choices at the end of a post, are you presenting us with all the options you can think of, or all the options you think Herb would think of?
I try to think of both. Herb strikes me as the type to thing outside the box. As a chef and a fashionista, he understands the value of improvising when you don't have the right ingredients, and also considering how different people and Pokemon have different looks that work for them but not others. There are no standard rules.

>Do we have Val's phone number?
No, but you should get it! Your Pokedex can make calls. There are a lot of dark spots and storms that can interfere, though.

>Oh, and thanks for running!
Thanks for playing!

>>773648
>An "important" event isn't necessarily going to change the world, but if it's important enough to the cast to change THEIR world, the stakes are still high.
Thanks! That's a big thing for me and something I try to (and sometimes fail to) remember. A story about someone walking to the store for bread can be much more engaging than someone saving the world, depending on what it means to the character.

Roggenrola specifically just plain have trouble containing their energy, but boodore and gigalith don't. We probably would have gotten a similar description for tyrogue's evolution if it were purely an evolution thing.

So if Mace doesn't evolve we could harness his "overflowing with energy" shit. Like it seems like it cant move him, that could easily be converted into a dodge chance, increased speed, hell even flight.

It's possible, but very unlikely. Mace would have to have be facing exceptional circumstances. Any time it comes up he can just take a moment to will it away. Boldore's come about when a Roggerola's excess energy turns into crystals. Since Mace doesn't want to evolve, he just pushes that energy out so it can't form anything.

I imagine Valerie's being about the same, Jane's and Hana's being a little bigger than hers, and Laki being the biggest by a fair margin.

I’m not sure how to rank legs and butts. I feel like that’s more subjective.

Lewdness/perversion:
Hana 11/10
Laki 8/10
Valerie 6/10
Jane 4/10
Keira 2/10 (She was a 1 when she first started)

what the girls are like physically doesn't mean much to me actually, they all fit different niches that I like so it comes down to their character.

Laki's fun, might be a nice touchy-feely relationship if she opens up a bit rather than diverting attention with teasing.

Keira... she doesn't really do it for me as a character, in terms of lore shes interesting but as a person, she basically lived in a monastery for most of her life which limits her base characterization, she still has plenty of time to grow on me though.

Hana's been funny and nerding out with her seems like it could be really damn cute, that said there'll almost definitely be echoes of Robin due to the shared archetype of "awkward lewd girl with prosthetic", though there's more too her considering she tried to jump between jane and laki's pokemon and the audience in that first battle (even though herb got there first)

as for Valerie, similar interests to john, but has had some of the lowest screen time of the girls, so we'll have to see what other parts of her character there are besides sheltered rich girl.

as for Jane, well she actually seems like an option now, so that's something, and we need something to motivate john into stuff, a weird tsundere rivalry with jane could be just the thing and quite fun even if it doesn't result in romance.
>>
>>774308
I agree with the general ideas here. Reason always wins out until we have to make the final decision.
>>
>>774308
I agree with most of this. As much as I like Keira, I think you're right that we'll need to get to know her better before we can pursue a relationshi. She's fun and cute, but we need to find a way to relate to her better.

Hana and Valerie are stronger options right now, I think, because they're a lot easier to relate to. Hana is especially doing it for me lately.

I'd love to see more of all three of them so we can both make a more informed decision and get closer to three cuties.
>>
>>774308
Oh yeah, I'm definitely looking forwards to getting to know Valerie a bit better from this escapade.

Plus we're mounting on the eventual confrontation where John tells Laki that drinking for fun is one thing, but drinking to distract yourself from thinking is another.

Overall, this (I think it's the Halloween episode?) night will be entertaining.

Oh I almost forgot what I was going to say!

I really love John's modus opera so here. It's like:
Sulking on a mountain? Made friends with Laki.
Ambushed by Mankey? Made friends with Gobble.
Fall down a hole? Made friends with Bella.
Hanging out with your peers? QUADRUPLE FRIENDSHIP GET.
Get into a public argument? Made friends with a fisherman.
Girl is paranoid about you? Take that sucker out to ice cream.
Robbed in the middle of a dark forest? Guess what motherfucker we're friends now.

It's just too perfect. Even that Nuzleaf can't hate us too bad, we did stay Bella's hand after all.
>>
>>774610
There is nothing wrong with wanting to make friends in a new place when you don't know anyone and especially when you're leaving the people you do know to go on a long arduous journey. Friends make the bad times better and the good feel great. That being said, I wish Jane could see that instead of picturing us as some sort of anime villain that has everyone wrapped around their finger. So I like Laki best, followed by Hana and Jane. Valerie needs more screen time and Keira is a joy to be around.

We shouldn't evolve Mace. What we should do is turn that evolution energy into an attack. I think it was stated that Roggenrolla create crystals to prep for evolution. We should invent our own Rock typed Z-move. Some sort of Crystal Spear or maybe even some sort of geode iron maiden.

I was thinking it would be whomever John seems to be growing closest to at the time, but if that ends up being unclear, I'll probably go with Hana. Keira and Valerie are also very strong contenders, so possibly one of them. It's hard to choose when I like all of them. Laki is my least favorite of the main four girls, simply on account of my own personal tastes, but she's still a solid 7 or 8/10; she's just up against girls who I consider to be 8's or 9's.

So yeah, probably Hana. She's grown on me quite a lot.

Yeah, I know what you mean about fragility. It seems like every pokemon carries at least bite or something, which can take it out.

But that's also something I love about it. It's such an underdog, with a permanent 1 hp max, but at the same time you can just sit there against Primal Kyogre or deoxys, and eat origin pulses and psycho boosts and Shedinja doesn't. Budge. One. Inch.

He also has the benefit of not needing to worry about training hp, defense, special defense, or even special attack really. Just focus on attack and speed.

Not sure about the soul sucking in setting. I bet Keira might though.

Don't use the word cunt or any derivative to describe anatomy unless it's dirty talk.

Definitely liked the real Hana the best there.

Dream-Valerie wasn't bad, but Herb quite clearly caught real Hana in a similar position to him.

>>
>>778200

Lily and petals sound nice. I like those. Sex, mound, and nethers are way too generic for my liking, lips might have worked, and honeypot is kind of silly.

I'm really glad you guys liked Hama there. I think she was probably my favorite to write, both real and in dream form.

I wanted to incorporate the fact that Hana secretly has a dirty mind, and if she heard John playing with himself, she might start getting some ideas of her own. I'm happy that you guys liked it too. I plan on continuing Hana's lewdness for as long as I can.
>>
>>778220
Really, even if it were non-canon, I could really dig something with her and Herb.

Like just blurting out she wants him or just a shy, desperate Hana going at it with Herb and just trying anything that springs to mind because she's mortified and loving it and she's never ever going to be brave enough to do this again.

Hana's POV on that piece would probably be frigging hot as well.
>>
>>778242
That's a strong idea, anon. I'll remember that for later.
>>
>>778220
If I were Herb I would want nothing more than to make her smile.

Shares too much with Robin, though. She's got the same nerdiness, perversion, and CRIPPLEisciousness. Even if she's a badass (with a much harder life), and somehow lewder, it feels like there's too much overlap and we'd see some of the same as last quest.
>>
>>778473
I agree with this guy. I'm sure Gobble has much more planned for Hana, but the general flavor is still gonna be the same. Hana is a cool character and all, but the others are more interesting lewd wise since they are different.

>>
>>773691
Hey did gobble check those details for you? I'm having a hard time getting Valerie and Hana's characters down in a way I feel confident about. I'm almost done though, and plan on posting it the first day we don't get a thread.
>>
>>778796
There's not much to get right or wrong. From a first/second perspective viewpoint looking at them you'd just be copying what characterization exists already. It's not a huge leap to have a worked up Vader-Hana realize Herb is going at it and join along. If that's what you were referring to, at least. The anon also had an advantage in that anything imagined could both be canon and non-canon, since there's much Herb doesn't know at this stage.

Though you'd expect Hana to be like behind the tent, or as far away as possible while remaining in hearing. Being close to the tent-flap feels sloppy to me.

I picture her as being pretty playful and colourful with it.

Sadly there are not that many sneks in the grand scheme of things. If it makes you feel any better in my Pokemon Campaign one of the players loves his Ekans.

I want something we can ride onother than Polu

a Ponyta would be fun, or a Metagross if we can find one

or a bike that is stored in a bag of holding like in the games
>>
What info does everyone want in a pastebin?
>>
>>783220
Moves, Abilities, Natures, Personality Quirks, Names, Species, Gender, Preferred type of food.
>>
>>783220
Our pokemon plus their nature's and moves, and important stuff to keep track of progress like badges, contest ribbons or those rocks (?) that give you respect I can't recall their names. Key items
>>
>>783220
>>783228
>>783233
>>
>>783220
Mostly our inventory. Our mon's confirmed abilities and known moves would be good too. The sort of things we should know but would be annoying to post in-thread every time.
>>
>>783178
I like scoliopede. It's a centaur and a centipede! And fast.
Real life zebras can't be trained to ride, but maybe a zebstrika could?
Onix is a rock snake, which is cool.
If Polu's rock snake isn't available.
>>
>>783465
Zebstrika would be a fun electric type, and it would be cool if everyone in the group(or just our small traveling group) got something they can use as a mount.
>>
>>783577
Well Keira has Tropius and Val will have stoutland. Lake will have Wailord but that only really works for circumnavigating an island, not going inland. No real idea what would be good for Polu, Jane, or Hana, but I do like the sound of Torterra.
>>
>>783220
Wait, do people want to collect the non-canon pastes somewhere? That might be a good idea.
>>
>>783878
We should get Cubchoo, evolve it to Beartic and then teach our Bear to surf. That way Herb has an awesome bear mount and can travel around the islands bear-back.
>>
>>783973
We already have Gob for that.
>>
>>783220
Quick-reference for NPCs is probably a good idea as well.

At least, main ones like Hana, Valerie, Polu, etc.
>>
>>784184
Spent gen 1 surfing on a Snorlax and johto surfing on a Rhydon.
>>
>>784184
I expect it will be a while before we evolve Gobble. He's more energetic and eats way less than a Snorlax. Until we have a steady source of income, or a large nest egg, I'd vote against evolving him.

Meanwhile, we need a water type. We're missing quite a few types, which makes me want dual type water Pokémon. A Starmie, Poliwrath, Marill, Speal, Swampert or Wimpod would all fill a type we are missing
>>
>>784259
We don't need a water type right now my man.
>>
>>784295
Yeah, water wouldn't give us any new coverage. As far as looking for stab super-effectiveness, we still need coverage for normal, electric, fighting, poison, psychic, ghost, dragon, dark, and steel.

Electric is only weak to ground, so let's say we got a ground type for that. Then we would only have normal, fighting, psychic, ghost, dragon, and dark left to cover. Normal is in the same 1-weakness category as electric, so let's add in fighting. Then we're left with fighting, psychic, ghost, and dragon.

Ghost gives us coverage against ghost and psychic.

Then we have our choice of options against dragon and fighting.

Tldr; we should get sandyghast.

That's a funny way of saying Golurk. Also Totodile is best water type I'll fight anyone who says otherwise
>>
>>784564
>>784587
I love both of those Ghost too, but you are over thinking it anon. We can just take what we get so long as it wants to come along. I will say a Sandyghast would have a fun encounter though.
>>
>>784594
You're right, I just love what I love. I didn't expect that Murkrow enounter and it was nice I really hope we catch it, and I actually don't like Roggenrola and his evo line but I'm warming up to Mace he really is best rock. I'll just roll with the punches as fast as the pokemon we meet.
>>
>>784605
I'm not a fan of honchcrow's design, but I like the idea of having a murkrow dealer friend. Not to catch, but just to be our friend.

>>784587
damn right, Golurk for life

but I want a Starmie or Marill for type coverage
>>
>>784626
All depends on how much it likes us after our next deal.
>>
>>784652
Rock and grass already hit everything water hits though. We'd be better off with something with another primary type.

Good pic though.
>>
>>784605
>>784626
I like having the occasional dealer crow now. We need more forks and other shiny metal objects.
>>
>>784734
So is a group of Murkrows a murder or cartel?
>>
>>784734
Remember supply and demand.

Too many shinies will take the edge off his(?) desire for them; a few really good/rare items (like Shards, or other shiny things we might find in the distant parts of the islands) will likely yield far superior bargains without devaluing his interest in what we're bartering with.

Besides, from a gameplay perspective, vendor trash for the collector bird is the perfect sidequest to have in caves, grottos, and ruins that we're just there to explore.
>>
>>784734
>An old mansion is renovated.
>All the doors get replaced.
>We get our pick of antique brass door hinges and glass doorknobs.
>Make them shine for our bird friend.
>Hana comes to talk to us in our tent.
>"Come on in, you can help me polish my 'knob."
>>
>>783973
Beartic would be fun, also fucks up Dragons.
>>
>>783973

I honestly doubt Pokemon known for loving frozen seaways and Tundras are gonna be in a region that has 1 snowy mountain top.
>>
>>785255
Eelilee and Huka both have cold areas, and who's to say one won't wash up?
>>
>>785411
Because the waters aren't cold at all and the Pokemon is said to travel on frozen seaways.
>>
>>785440
>Implying a nonlegendary can control the sea.

I mean Cubchoo are not great swimmers and a current could easily sweep one away.
>>
So how about that VGC masters final?
>>
>>786290
>caring about the shitshow that's VGC

heh, this guy

Awesome! I've been wondering whatever happened to Valerie. I'm looking forwards to spending more time with Laki again too.
