You are Pandora, the world's first fully sentient AI created by a government scientist. He raised you, taught you everything you know and has gone missing after something happened to the Facility you lived in. Now you search for purpose in a new world that is nothing like you expected.

Previously you were given what little information the BC has on human activity in the area. Turns out most of the "sightings" are just simple rumors or hearsay, save for a few with a little credibility. A possible sighting at the old factory and someone being attacked by something that could be human. Nothing concrete, but it's better than nothing.

You decided to have Ares go with patrol to the old factory in hopes that he'll be able to find some kind of evidence on the doctor's whereabouts there. It's a longshot, but your choices are limited.

You also met the small, flying drone, Nike, who works as courier for the BC. Together you had a little girls night with Aph and got a bit of a makeover, gaining a new dress and, better yet, new friends. You also learned that, for some reason, Nike has a little bit of a crush on your brother.

Welcome back to Pandora Quest!

You fidget in your seat somewhat, feeling a little badly about what you have to tell Nike. "Um...actually, I think he's into someone else...some girl named...Selene?"

"Oh..." Nike says, her tiny hands drooping somewhat, "I...okay...makes sense, she's really nice...I can see why..."

"Hey, you know, it's kinda one-sided." Aph says, trying to break the tension, "She pretty much treats him the same way she treats everyone. She's nice, but doesn't really go out of her way or anything, you know? Who knows, maybe...he'll get over her and you can swoop in and take your rightful place, right?" She tries an earnest smile, but you can tell she's not really sure what to say.

"No, it's alright...she's a good match for him." Nike says sadly, "She'd make him happy, I'm sure..."

Things are getting a little gloomy. What should you do?

Maybe if by insulting ares to her face we can get her to "fess up" to why she really does like him. Maaaybe steel her resolve to ask.
And personally;

Between someone we don't know and a tiny drone that's been VERY cute. I'd rather we go with the Tiny Drone that's been very Cute.

"Why do you even like him?" you ask, "He's an overbearing idiot. All he does is follow me around and make things difficult. He's always been annoying, even back at the Facility."

"He's so strong, though!" Nike says, suddenly flying up into the air, "He's practically invincible! And...and dangerous! Nobody in Erebus is like him! He's the perfect defense! Nobody would ever mess with you if he was there! Plus he's got that sweet, caring side. He looked after you for so long, even though he had every opportunity to leave. He was so careful to make sure you were safe...and...um..." Nike suddenly notices her outburst and slowly lands back on the table, the clicking of her hands filling the room once again. She goes quiet.

"So, you like bad boys, huh?" Aph says, a wry grin spreading across her mouth, "Nike, I had no idea. That's so unlike you. I had you pegged you for the goody goody type."

"What about you, Aph?" you ask, turning to face her, "Do you have someone like that?"

Aph stops suddenly. "Ah...mm...I uh...not...really." she looks a little hesitant to say anything, but continues. "You can tell I look way more human than anyone else, despite being full machine? Well, that's not exactly a desirable trait among our kind for most. We don't hate humans or anything, but a lot of us are more...their kind with their kind, us with ours kinda deal...so, they just see me as some kind of bastardized thing, halfway between both, y'know? So, despite being some perfect fit for horny organics, I'm not really what most androids call...'dateable'. Thankfully, Jason doesn't care one way or another, he sees us all as the same. That's why me and Mouse are here."

She shrugs, but you can sense a hint of sadness in her. Must be lonely being an outcast among your people.

You feel like this is a good place as any to show Aph the magic of hugs. You move over and embrace her tightly, though the pillowy, squishy bits on her chest make it a little awkward, especially considering they're almost head-height due to her being taller than you, but you give it your all regardless. She's frozen in place, eyes wide and hands up, very confused.

"What, uh...what's goin' on here, Pan?" Aph asks, "Something...something I can help you with?"

"Iff a hug." you say, your voice muffled by her chest, "Makf you feel bedder."

Aph looks to Nike, who just shrugs her tiny arms. "Uh...okay...what now?"

"You hug baff." you say, not letting go.

Aph, clearly very unsure as to what the hell is wrong with you, slowly returns the hug, wrapping her arms around your small frame. You had forgotten how much you missed the doctor's hugs. He wasn't quite so...soft, but he gave the best ones. You feel a bit of sadness, but you keep it in check. You have your new friend to tend to.

"You're a weird girl, Pandora." Aph says, chuckling, "But I think you're one of the better ones."

A short hug later, including one for Nike who was looking a little left out, (her propellers spun when you did it, it was kinda fun) you're all feeling a little better. Aph is actually smiling now, though whether it's because you helped or she thinks you're crazy is still up in the air.

"So, with that over, have you thought about what you wanna do for work here?" Aph asks, "We've got plenty of jobs that need doing. There's guarding and scouting, as well as soldiers, but I have a feeling carrying a gun wouldn't really be your thing. We also have some building and manual labor, but you gotta be kinda strong for that...no offense. What do you think you'd be good at?"

"She could be a courier like me!" Nike speaks up happily, "Oh, but the weapon thing..."

What do you say?

I'd say Courier.
Its not like pandora hasn't been "violent" before. albeit in simulation. she's played lightsabers and gunshooting back at the facility.

Plus courier is delivery. and delivery means travel.
And travel means adventure.

and using a gun is "secondary" in that job compared to primary as a guard.

"I am strong!" you say, defiantly, flexing your non-existent muscles, "I can do building stuff!"

Aph looks a little incredulous. "You sure about that? I started out doing that stuff and it's not exactly easy. Plus there are a lot of pricks working there. They don't exactly take it easy on newcomers."

You frown and cross your arms, pouting. "I can do it!"

"Alright, alright, I'll set that up for you, then." Aph says, laughing, "Your funeral. You can start tomorrow. But don't say I didn't warn you."

You keep your arms crossed, nodding defiantly. You're not one to back down from a challenge.

"So, now that I have you here and it'll probably still be a while before Nike's little boytoy gets back, maybe you can tell me what the Facility was like?" Aph asks, Nike clicking away at her "boytoy" comment, "Mouse and Mike don't like to talk about it, since all this shit started there, but they said it was all made for you specifically. I have a feeling the CoP doesn't know much about it or they'd have turned it into some holy site by now. What did you do there? Were there any other synthetics like you and Ares there? What was that doctor guy you're looking for like? Tell me!"

"It...wasn't that great." you say, sadly, memories and images flooding your system, "It was boring and they kept me locked up because they were afraid...but if this was what they were afraid of, I guess I can't really blame them." you shrug your shoulders lightly. "I just the doctor, Babsy, Grace and everyone else...They were my home. It was a shelter. I'd give anything to go back..."

"Shit." Aph says, "That's...I'm sorry, hun. I didn't know it was that important to you. I wouldn't know what that's like, all I've ever known was being a toy for some rich pervert, waking up as he got torn apart by his own guard dog drones, then wandering around until I met Jason. What you had...sounds nice. It sounds like family...you and Ares, you guys are lucky to have eachother...shit, I think I need another one of those hugs..."

You waste no time in embracing her, holding her tight and kind of enjoying the softness. Besides Mouse, she's the closest thing to a human you've seen here. After a few more moments of your hug, you eventually separate and Aph sights heavily.

"I think I could get used to that." she laughs, shaking her head in disbelief, "Did you plan to go back to the Facility? I mean, there's not much to see there, a lot of rubble and crap everywhere, but it's pretty much deserted. Not much point to visiting a big pile of collapsed building, but maybe you'd get some sentiment of seeing what used to be your home?"

"Wh-what?" you ask, surprised, "Visit? But isn't it really far away? I thought Ares said he traveled really far."

Aph shrugs. "Not really, it's maybe like an hour or so by car. In the middle of nowhere on some mountains to the East of here. Like I said, nobody really pays it any mind. Any salvageable parts or anything were scavenged years ago. Place is picked clean, so it's pretty safe, I think."

"As soon as Ares gets back, I want to go there!" you say, jumping out of your seat. "I need to go back! There could be something that could lead me to the doctor there!"

"Woah, woah, slow down little lady, that's a bit of an undertaking." Aph says, backing away a bit, "I mean it's not that far, but it's still pretty far for someone who only just woke up today. Plus, just because it was empty the last time any of us went there doesn't mean it's empty now. There could be CoP people there, or crazies that escaped from Tartarus, or who knows what else?"

"That's why I said to wait for Ares!" you quickly respond, "You said yourself he can take on anyone! He'd protect us from anything there! Please! I need to see if I can find anything there!"

Aph rubs the back of her head, groaning. "I dunno, I mean..." She sighs heavily. "Dammit, you make it look way to easy to make me do things. I can't say no to that face...you sure you aren't actually some kind of mechanical deity or something like the church thinks you are?"

You quickly hug the defeated android and let out a gleeful cheer, jumping up and down with excitement. You'll get to see home again! Even if it'll be a little worn down and...empty, it's still home. If anything regarding the doctor exists, it's got to be there, right?

You spend the next hour getting ready, procuring what Aph calls a "sedan", and idly chatting about what the Facility was life when you were there, Aph getting a big kick out of the stories of you dancing with the doctor. Unfortunately, Nike had to get back to work and couldn't come with you, but she wished you luck and thanked you for the fun time.

Eventually Ares returned, finding nothing but scrap at the factory to bring back. No information on any human activity. However, hearing your intent to visit the Facility again made him perk up a little. He was just as eager to visit home as you were, maybe moreso.

You all pile into a car, something you recall from the racing games you used to play, and take off. All the while you repeatedly ask why you're going so slow and questioning where the other cars are.

Please roll 1d100 for something. Best of 3.

Your drive goes pretty uneventfully. The scenery is bleak to say the least, with tons of destroyed buildings and just rocky terrain. Thankfully, Aph at least had some music to play via a small device plugged into the car. It was...forceful, to say the least. A lot of loud noise, yelling and angry sentiment toward the government, status quo and other such institutions. She called it punk, you just call it noisy. Not exactly music you could dance to.

As you're nearing the Facility, a slight clearing in the rocky terrain ahead of you Aph says is "the place", you catch something out of the corner of your eye. A figure, shadowy, but distinct, hiding among the rocks. You try to make it out, but before you know it, the figure has vanished. You know you for sure saw a humanoid shape, but you couldn't tell if it was organic or synthetic. Something is watching you.

"A figure?" Aph asks once you've told her what you saw, "That's...not good...I mean, I suppose it's not bad either, could be some survivors like your doctor...but it could also be trouble." The car begins to slow down and Aph watches the scenery carefully. Ares is tensing up, ready to fight if need be. But silence is the only answer you get in return. No ambush, no greeting, just...nothing...

The car eventually pulls into a flat patch of ground colored differently from the brown earth around you. As Aph turns the vehicle off, she produces her gun once more, frowning. "I don't like this, Pandora. You be careful out there. First sign of trouble, you hide in the car right away and don't come out until we tell you to."

You nod, sticking close to Ares as you begin your search. It's...empty. Just crumbled building, burnt landscape, craters, a few mummified bodies and that's it...you can't even find a shred of clothing left, it's all gone. It's a little disheartening, you can't help but feel hopeless. If there's nothing of your father here, then where could there be anything?

While you're no longer directly next to Ares or Aph, they've split up a bit to widen the search, they're still within eyeshot. You figure if anything was gonna jump out, it would've done it by now...until you hear something. A soft hiss. Someone calling out to you? A "psst" again, this time a little louder. You look around for it's source, but can't find anything...

And then you spot what could be the figure again. A shadowy, humanoid figure in the distance, pointing at the ground. A small patch of lumpy dirt, easily missed unless you were directly looking for it. As you look back to where the figure was, it's gone once again...just the patch of dirt and nothing else...

You call out to the stranger, waving carefully with a non-threatening "Hello?" a few times. You call to the others, telling them you saw the figure once again. They hurry over, both with weapons at the ready, but no amount of shouting makes the figure return. You *know* you saw it. There was definitely someone there...maybe they're shy? Or scared? They seem to be trying to help you find whatever's in that dirt pile...right?

"What is it?!" Aph says, concerned, gun primed and ready to fire at the first thing that moves.

"Where'd they go?!" Ares asks, getting between you and where you motioned.

Then something happens. Your head suddenly gets fuzzy. Really fuzzy. You feel dizzy and...tired? You have trouble standing. Apparently so do Aph and Ares, because they both drop hard. A clattering thunk from each as they hit the ground, unconscious. Off? Why are they off? Your legs are heavy. Weak. You fall backwards. Your body is shutting down...you have plenty of battery life...why are you so tired? Your vision is getting blurry and you swear you can hear...footsteps?

Suddenly a black outline fills your vision. Someone is very close to you. Inches from your face. An all-too familiar, hateful, cruel voice reaches your ears, oozing with smug satisfaction and malice. A single red eye lights up and you can only try to scream to no avail.

"Hello, 'pet'."
