You are Gurie Niamc, a proffessional fashion designer who recently cried because a ten year old kid wanted you to be independent.

You walk past your house's gate and can't help but notice your house looks... brighter then when you were in it. Maybe you are already nostalgic for it?
Or maybe it's a asshole that's happy you are gone. Jerk.

You are currently waiting for Sycamore's assistant to get here with your tax paid for trainer starter park so that you can officially begin your epic quest.

But you've been waiting forever and your booooored. What do you do?

You decide to begin your quest to become a mature and independent woman by going SHOPPING!
Preparation is key right? Besides your brother thought you wouldn't be able to handle this, time to prove him wrong.

Aquacorde lacks the mart system most of Kalos has subsribed to according to international PTC regulations, instead most of the shopping is done by small ma and pa chains. Which you like because these people aren't nosy.

Besides Debra, mean old Debra. [/b[

Carl's Capture Cabin, was as usual, quite well stocked. Carl, a balding man in his 50s, gives you a nod before he continues to work at the apricorn forge he uses to make all his pokeballs. His recent works are shown in a display.

Noting you have enough pocket money after the latest design submission, you buy 4 great balls and 3 specialty pokeballs of the players chosing.

Whatever that means.

You are heading out with your gains feeling rather positive, Carl never talks so its easy to get along with him, especially since his daughter wasn't-

Well, I got nothing against some nicely done pasta! While the conversation might start out good, some aspect (like a question which we did not expect) causes increasing amount of spaghetti not being inside the pocket of ours.
But I wouldn't give any mali or decrease boni, only if it's like 2 crits in a row. In my humble opinion at least. And ONLY take the crit-fails above other average rolls if it's a major crit-fail.

This situation would be something like that.
We lose spaghetti, a lot of it, but that's about it. The +5 stays, until there is such a fail, that we would be seriously doubting ourselves and/or our methodes.

I have decided if you roll under 10 or over 90 without modifiers this overwrites more normal rolls. Rest assured I wont make people crit or suceed in ways i think will ruin the game. If you roll a one and i decide to kill you off thats a stupid way to end a story. That having been said.

You gulp as you face down your fearsome rival. Granted shes like half your age but ever since Carl's granddaughter moved in with her to learn the family trade shes been so... talky. You don't do well with people especially her.

Oh what are you doing with those pokeballs? Are you going to put them down your shirt and pretend you are your cousin again? Debbie smiles, the face of complete innocence and not someone who has just made you cry inside a little bit.

Debbie smiled as you shake your head. Puh... pokemon adventure. You sputter out, you were never any good at dealing with Debbie, most kids avoid you but Debbie... Debbie's relentless.

Debbies eyes sparkle as she takes the news in.

YOU are going to get your pokemon today? Me too! We are going to be like twinsies! Isn't this great? We are going to go on adventures together, just you and me... and this weird sack thing. Debra turned her head down to look at Mimikyu who bravely has stepped between you waving his stick.
What is that?

Mimikyu borrows a red crayon to draw a vein on his head to symbolize anger. "How rude! My name is mimikyu! I'm Gurie's pokemon trainer trainer and I won't-".

Debbie blinks. "Is that a real thing or did you make it up to feel better? Grandpa says lying is wrong, is that why you dress like a pikachu? Debbies watch starts bepping, interupting the adolescent onslaught
Well I got to go say goodbye to my friends at school I'll see you at the cafe! Debbie waves as she jogs away, whistling innocently as she walks away from the scene of utter devastation she left in you and Mimikyu.

Mr Meer's Medical is the local potion shop, dilluting Energy powders into potions as well as a few other knick knacks here and there, he's still trying to get his Vitamin vending license you hear.

He's the only guy you can talk to, mainly cause he wears your ghastly patterned pajamas outside and so you actually started talking to him. On your own even!

Meers himself wipes the soot off his face as another attempt at making a dire hit goes bad, looking up to see your tear streaking face.

Dir: I am going to try to write normally for a while because the tags are too much of a mess. If mimikyu talks to you directly it'll still be blue however.

You look down, sniffing as you think of the daunting jouney ahead. "To be honest, I'm going on a pokemon adventure and its already not going well! Debbie chewed me out, I haven't seen the assistant yet but the guy the next town over became a Pokemon champion and how can I top that? I'm twenty and everyone I'm competing with is ten? I'm like some old hag and."

Meer shushs you. "There there, have a cookie." Meer reaches down, plucking a pastry from the tray Mimikyu is devouring as he pats you on the back. "It's never easy dear. I didn't get my doctrate till 30, before that I could only sell potions I bought overseas. The point is, you have to try, the worst that happens is you learn new things."

You nod as he hands you a yellow star like object. "Here take this, I got it with my last shipment, use it only when someone is REALLY hurt."

You nod and buy the rest of your potions, your items going into your little Litwick styled sling bag.

It's time for you to met the assistant, you wave goodbye to Mr Meers and head up to the cafe.

The cafe is a rather small coffee shack, relying on its outdoor tables and Aquacorde's natural beutey to provide the ambience, the coffee is decent, but its menu is rather limited, given you drink only coffee milk you don't have much of a concern with that.

You sip down your sweet brew as Debbie walks up to you again, pulling on the hand of a middle aged man.

"Gurie gurie I found the assistant!"

How the fuck did Debbie figure the adorable, fantastically talented, cool-as-Glaceon Mimikyu to be a boring old Pikachu? Pikachu can't even talk; it's not a psychic or fairy type or anything! Stupid brat.

Oh and she's making fun of our chest? It. Is. ON.

Mimikyu puffs its chest... face thing out. "Mimikyu is mimikyu!"

The assistant smiles, nodding in the way confunsed men do when polite. "Of course you are Mimikyu, so nice to meet you. Anyway my name is Mr Datura. As for your pokemon I was requested by your brother.
You see I specialize in using pokemon in nonaggressive practices. To put it simple, service pokemon. Given your, social anxiety, I have selected three pokemon I have specifically trained for these situations to present to you. Or course the standard options are available as well."

Debbie blinked. " Gurie has anxiety? Is that why she's always hiding in her room?"

The man kneels down face to face with Debbie, smilling innocently. "Hush. Anyway, do you want to see the service animals or I can just give you the standard options. Regardless you get your pokedex, trainer card, and 5 pokeballs."

Your first service pokemon option is Ralts, as Mr Datura explains, Ralts have a connection to peoples emotions and this one can sense when you are anxious and calm you or try to remove you from a uncomfortabgle situation, Datura trained it personally so it could do so.

Ralts lets you ignore one critical failure a game.
>>
>>813184

I decided that given the slowness of the pace, i would show you the three options and go to bed. I can do it all at once if you want but then you dont get the images.

Your second option is a Shinx, known as expert seeing eye pokemon, this pokemon was more trained to avoid potential situations and guard you from situations like trekking through caves and forests more then talking to people.

Shinx provides plus 10 will saves on keeping your nerve. This wont help you try to do things like convince someone you are cool or intimidate a hooligan but it will help you from crying during the fight.

The last one Datura is particurally proud of. He personally breeds and trains Chansys and Audinos for pokemon centers however this Happinny is a little too clumsy and inquisitive for nurse training, with a bad tendency to wander off. However despite this it is a member of the Chansy family and is skilled at helping deal with injuries.

Happiny will help you recover from a bad situation. You will get a plus five bonus against emotional damage.

With that I am going to bed, we will resume in 13 hours. Check twitter.

The Happiny for when we inivitable fuck up.

The other three are Spheal, Hoppip, and Litwick, they are all stronger then the service pokemon, but they do not have any bonuses relating to social rolls.

>>813263
I say we go with Ralts. S/he should be best for dealing with our personal problems... And another psychic type means more friendly friends to talk with!

In my humble opinion, if I may.
While Litwick 'fits' better towards the hex maniac better, and is certainly stronger, we should consider the fact that they are not a service Pokémon.

Just because we are are a hex maniac, we don't have to embrace the stereotype, right?
We can just make a new dress, we can be WHOEVER WE WANT TO BE!

All this joking aside, there are many more Pokémon out there, and we should really get us a professional psychologist.
To bad that the closest we have available is a Pokémon, right?

Funny thing though, there are more Hex Maniacs with Ralts and their evolutions than there are those with Litwicks (and their respective evolutions).
>>
Indeed. The added type coverage could be nice too. Although we still haven't seen an actual battle.

Seeing your hesitation from just his explanation, Mr Datura pulls out a black briefcase where the three pokeballs were held, releasing all 3 to interact with you.

Shinx appears to have more in common with dog pokemon then the cat family its allegedly a part of, the bold pokemon immediately darting between your legs to get a feel for the new area. You suppose as a sight pokemon it has more to see. It bumps its head against a table leg but its Gutsy enough to not cry.

Happiny on the other hand, seems primarily concerning itself with climbing things, the jolly egg looking pokemon scaling the top of the table where it can look down on the other pokemon, and Debbie.
The playhouse pokemon gives a smug grin and you can tell Debbie isn't really happy about having apparently lost... something. Baby logics aren't always sound. It doesnt appear that concerned with injuring itself but when Shinx bonked its head on one of the table legs it rubbed a natural cure it kept on hand to reduce the shinx's pouting.

Ralts on the other hand, seems unconcerned with everything and has taken to sipping tea from the tiny espresso cup Datura bought for it. It offers you a sip but apparently the Ralts likes things a lot more bitter then you do which explains its Gentle nature.
It seems to share your love of artwork, as it spends some time tracing the cup of coffee onto a napkin. It's drawing is terrible though so you may be wrong.

Horribly wrong.

The type trio will be next post!

Rest assured there is a reason the house immediatly cheered up when you left. You are plenty hexed.

Mr Datura is not particurally HAPPY showing you the alternatives to his hard work, but he is willing to give you the options you deserve. What a trustworthy person.

Litwick sure is quiet it kinda just stares at you, well not YOU but at something behind you, it gives a wave and you are kinda freaked out a itty bitty lots. You are really freaked out. But its not like it seems mad at you.
The litwick plays with the candle the cafe sets out, the little flash of heat and fire seems to be empowering it. Or its a psycho.
Ghost types, what are you going to do?

Hoppip is not, by any means, a nice pokemon, the naughty pluff ball seems to be more concerned with amusing itself then anything else. It seemed to have managed to infiltrate and steal debbie's ribbon though so that's pretty cool.

Spheal seems to mostly spend its time being played with by the Shinx, the lion pokemon using it as a ball. The spheal seems to not mind, and its almost suprising how docile it is. You'd almost think its not a real pokemon except it winked at you.
It's also really fat like thick with it. You could use it as a pillow and you know it doesn't care.

You are Ralts, maybe you'll have a name but right now you are just Ralts.

Ever since you were a wee level 1 you have been raised on the gentlemanly tales of the Swords of Justice, a Unovan legend about 4 swordsman pokemon who go across the land and do justice.

You always wanted to be like them, but less horsey, however your trainer insisted you learn the Gentlemanly arts of pokebutlery. You assumed this was to work amongst the Battle Chateu and spend your days making sure people dont blow the mansion up when they battle.

Fortuitously, which is a word you found in a book and like to use, a young Marchioness has agreed to have you serve her. Perhaps your dreams of knighthood may yet come true! At the very least you have a lady to have fealty to.

Granted this Marchioness Gurie is... very unlady like you must admit! You are brought to mind more of a cherrim, wrapping itself in a protective veil of petals in fear of the darkness. Which is weird because of the strong bundle of hatred floating behind it the lady seems completely unbothered by.

Well if it doesn't bother her... it's not your problem!

You suppose it is appropriate for the Madam to give you a title. You wonder what it will be.

>Nickname time boys.

Rolls will be required but you can make a outfit at any Boutique since they sell fabric.
>>
Alright then since we seem to get all the subs we will be getting its time to continue.

You decide to name the Ralts Planchet, or Planny because it looks smart.

Planchet is incredibly pleased by this and you don't know why.

You don't nickname Mimikyu because you've never seen another one and it seems really attached to calling itself Mimikyu.

Planchett makes itself known to Mimikyu and the two seem to glare at each other before Planchett nods, Mimikyu having evidently won some kind of contest to assert its authority.

Then Debbie speaks up. "Mister I want to take over for my grandpa in ballcrafting, can I have a service pokemon too?"

Datura thinks for a moment before handing the little girl a dusk ball. "I suppose if we must the best pokemon for harvsting would be this honeedge I was teaching steel work towards."

Debbies eyes lit up as she holds on to the ball, turning to you with sparkling eyes. "Hey Gurie~ Let's have a battle."

Mimikyu asserts it knows Play Nice, Phantom Force, Thundershock and Disarming Voice. It claims it can learn most Electric, Fairy, and ghost moves but you have no idea if this is true because Mimikyu is so mysterious.

Mimikyu is eager to prove itself and waves its stick around to prove it. You dont know why since the stick evidently has no moves related to it but maybe it thinks it makes it look wizardly.

Planny however. Has confusion, double team, and teleport.

It also, and you don't know WHY appears to have taught itself the move Night Slash, which isn't a thing Ralts should know but whatever it doesnt seem upset about it.

Mimikyu seems to be a little higher level then Planchet, probbably cause Mimikyu was raised in "the streets" while Planchet was more intended to serve people.

Ultimately the choice is yours, after all if you were going to let your pokemon decide how to do a pokemon battle why the heck are you tagging along?

That is, should fortune provide the oppurtunity. But whats the likely hood of you encountering any of them?

You agree and Debbie smiles. "FINALLY you never agree to play with me Gurie, but now we can play all we want. Isn't that right Mr ChopChop?"

Debbies poke ball opens with a crack as Mr Chopchop takes to the scene, the cursed blade grinning through its scabbard hide. As it draws itself the blade chuckles, a sound not far from of the sound of knives sharpening, as it points its razored tip at Planny, the ralts nodding as it walks forward.

"Wait." Datura stops the two of you, a small frown on his face. "You can't fight over here, lets walk over to route one, there is plenty of space to do this safely.

Debbie pouts but agrees, the two of you awkwardly glaring at each other as you reenact the entire scene over against the fallen cherry blossoms of Route 1.

Platty immediatly starts off with its red horn glowing, causing Mr Chopper to blink, though it seemed mostly uneffected, laughing the pokemon tosses its scabard in the air to begin a sword dance... only for the scarbbard to bonk it straight in the handle and interupt the move.

Evidentally the Honedge is signifigantly more disoriented then it thought, the barely scratched steel teetering in the air like a drunk.

You can

Teleport to confuse it further. Once the odds are fully stacked in our favour, we close to engagement range!

As for the pokemon anime style, that gives you some benefits so double team would end up like a shadow clone, except honeedge knows who is a clone.

You come up with a plan and think really hard. Planny vanishes with teleport.

The cool thing about psychic and ghost types is that you dont really have to SAY instructions, they just kinda, get it.

Honedge teeters through a sworddance only to turn around and find itself surronded by Ralts.

The honeedge snickers, knowing it could easily find the real one... just... any moment.

Mr Chopper stops smiling, none of the Ralts are real, where did the little squire go...

Debbie frowns as she looks at the wave of fakes surronding her assistant pokemon. " Don't give up! Use fury cutter on them."

Fury cutter gets stronger with each subquential use so this siege could be leveled out rather quickly.
... Or so Mimikyu warns you as the hone edge begains chopping through waves of Ralts, one of your decoy mimikyu's vanishing and teleporting behind Mr Chopper, Planny clutching Mimikyu's cosplay stick and stabbing the Honedge in the back as it's distracted.

The honedge is sent realing, its scabbard tatterted to the ground but its blade still dripping a green ichor.

The ralts surronds Mr Choppy, hands blackened by dark magic as they swing at Choppy, the sword stumbling through sword blows towards the stick holding Planny in the back, thick scratches denting the Honeedge's body as it spears the Planny.

Only for the stick to vanish in the smoke cloud.

Mr Choppy turned to the left, watching the real Planchet finish its confusion attack.

Awhile is over. Back to work.

You blink and begin to throw every question in the book at this guy, you were usually to busy drawing to pay attention in school. "Is there anything I should know? How do I take care of these pokemon? What do they even want from me? Can they eat choclate, I heard if a lillipup eats choclate it dies I don't want to feed Planny choclate and then he dies and everyone goes 'Gurie killed a pokemon' and I get locked up with Team flare and for-" You start rambling until the man shushs you.

"Relax. Planny is there to take care of you, he's trained as such. Just believe in them."

"But... I don't even know what gender they are!" You blurt out. "What if Planny is a boy and wants to be a gallade but i screw up and he evolves into gardevoir and hates me forever? What even IS Mimikyu."

The professor leans down, smiles and gives you a thumbs up. "I don't know, I've never met a Mimikyu before. Goodbye. As for Planny, poor girl isn't going to worry you with the Galade dilemna." Mr Datura rubs the Ralts head. "Quite a shame though, she was devastated when she found out. But use what you have right?"

"Oh and Gurie, one more thing. This service pokemon program you are a part of was a LOT of hard work, you and Debbie can be said to be the first two apart of it. So its very important for me that you succeed. Do you understand?"

For a instance you think he's scowling at you but you blink and it's all smiles again.

"Have fun Gurie."

Consider what we are aiming to do.
Now consider what we are actually involved in.
There is always an interests group-
However, our possibilities are not limited to the usual "organized crime"-shtick.
We are a Hex Maniac, so wouldn't it be interesting to see an actual Cult or something related to psychic? (I mean, Team Plasma wasn't a cult as such, as they were parts of a monarchic reign scheme.)

It appears as if the service Pokémon program might be something revolutionary, most likely to show the world that Pokémon can humans overcome psychological disabilities and illnesses (and apparently as workers in general? Not sure.)
Now, just look at the world right now. (And not to go into any details, because if you want to keep friends, don't talk about politics and religion.)
Imagine there was an organization distributing cheap (read: slave) workers (read: Pokémon). What would service Pokémon change in this world? Probably that the Pokémon handler would have to be paid money. And there probably won't be a marked for Pokémon slave workers anymore. Or something like that. (Just laying down a foundation to build on.)
And then there are those who fear to lose their jobs because of Pokémon.
(Sorta like an anti-team plasma.)
The only question in this scenario then would only be: How do they know of the service Pokémon initiative?

Or we could go like every other Pokémon game, and just do "Oh look, we do crime, but actually we want to take over/destroy the world".

Seriously game freak, why can't we have a criminal organization which is just that? Criminally ambitious? Like the good old times of Team Rocket.

I wonder why Pokemon never went full JRPG, with other trainer party-members and quests and stuff?

Oh rest assured I can do villians, I just don't want to make a situation where you guys came for cute pokemon and end up having to stop a crazed alolan who eats pokemon flesh to acquire their skills and go "Well this is not cute".

Especially cause that would hurt boneslurpers feelings. You ass.

Mark my words I got some plans. The trick is if I don't want tone whiplash to ruin a story.

Good thing I never watched FMA then, huh?

Never forget, a good twist is a good story.
A predictable twist makes for a boring story.
And then, it all comes down to the audience.
Well, you know the 3 episode rule, don't you?
Is this end of episode 1? Glorious so far anyways.
