Getting Strong Now

Character info pastebin coming soon/eventually

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics are up in the air. Suggestions are welcome. We'll be trying some new things out so I appreciate your patience as we fine tune it. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. I also want to try a more varied turn system so you and your opponent can do a few things in a row more often. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Budew)

Recently: You found drunken Laki and sober Valie in the forest, got mace tested (and had a close call with a malfunction thanks to your bad luck), battled someone that works at the local gym and got some helpful information. You've decided to take the day to train.

“That was great!” Keira is bouncing with energy. “I didn’t think I’d start liking battles so quickly.” Her face is flushed with excitement. “But I think I’m starting to get it.”

Her Tropius and Nincada crowd around her. ‘Do you guys want to try battling?”

Tropius seems a bit worried about it. Nincada looks more receptive but with his face it’s hard to really tell.

The two of you walk back to the Pokemon center. Keira stops to quickly repaint a faded arrow on a signpost.

“There!” She looks at it with a sense of satisfaction. She looks at your confused face. “You don’t do that where you’re from? Give spirits directions to the next world?”

You explain to her that you believe spirits don’t really need help getting to the afterlife. They just sort of get there.

“But that’s what ghost pokemon and other spirits are. Your homeland must have so many stray spirits. You wouldn’t even be able to sleep with all that noise.”

“I didn’t mean to offend you or-”

“No. Sorry. I’m the one that asked. I shouldn’t question you like this. I just...how..” She stops herself, then opens her mouth to speak and raises a finger, then stops herself again. She puts her finger down and gets lost in thought. You get the feeling that this will be something she digs into later.

“Hi!” Hana is there at the Pokemon center and getting her balls back. “How’d it go?”

Keira falls right out of her thoughts and gets really excited. She blurts out everything about your match. Most of it is out of order. Hana politely nods and pretends to follow every detail as Keira makes sound effects and slips in a few words in the native language.

You get your Pokeballs back.

Wait. Hana has two now. You ask and she tells you that she got her fossil from the caves revived. She sends it out.

“Say hello, Tirtouga.”

The turtle pokemon looks up at you quizzically.

“He’s still adjusting to this world,” Keira says as she squats down and waves. “What an interesting aura you have.”

The pokemon cocks its head.

Some things are natural born spirits. Also Shedninja is the husk of Nincada that keeps on going
>>

So pokemon are a literal representation of Shinto spirituality. They are basically literally the spirits that reside in everything. Ghost mons are human spirits that bond with something in the physical world. Once they become pokemon, I believe breeding is just the same for all mons.

“Are you guys planning on taking the gym?”

“That’s more of the fighting clergy domain.” Keira says. “I’d like to watch, though.”

Hana adjusts her pokeball belt and grabs an apple. “I don’t know. But I want to do something.” She suddenly looks up. “Yes! I’m going to take on the gym.” The apple explodes in her powered hand. She looks horribly guilty at the mess. You and Keira help her clean up as Hana tries to become invisible. Eventually the eyes that were drawn look away and she relaxes a bit more.

“Want to go out back and work up a sweat together? I bet we could teach each other a lot.”

Hana freezes and stares at you. “What?”

“Train. Want to train our pokemon?”

She looks worried, but she narrows her brows and gains a sharp, determined look in her eyes. “Yes.”

You head to the open area behind the Pokemon center. There’s a small jungle gym that’s not in use and a nice shaded area to stand and train in. An old man strikes up a conversation with Keira. Sounds like he’s asking her advice on something. She really must get a lot of respect.

Hana and you stand in the shade. She rubs her arm.

Huh. You have no idea where to start.

Considering the gimmick of the gym, there's a good chance anything that enters the fight will end up as a water type anyway; so no point forcing her to catch anything else just yet. Just work with what we've got.

So anything we can do to mitigate the obvious grass and/or electric type moves the leader will throw our way

could we teach Bella Sunny Day? The cannon apparently act like the move Soak

If nothing else, it would power up her grass attacks later on.

Plus it would be cool to have a weather team
>>
>>825271
I would rather get the basics down first. I think Water Sport will be useful here though if we can get the electric Pokemon covered in water also.
>>
>>825271
That sounds good to me. Weather Ball could turn out to be a really versatile move if we go that route.
>>
>>825232
Well, the main issue is the water and the cannons; focusing on movement to get out / dodge might be able to work. If we can get the cannons to hit the gym leader's Pokemon then Bella can probably do some good damage too.

>>825282
The gym battle is basically set in a shallow pool of water with Water Cannons soaking everything such that everything is weak to electricity and has trouble evading it. Only their Pokemon have stuff like Volt Absorb so it doesn't matter if they get hit for the most part.
>>
>>825302
I didn't remember the shallow pool part. Gym sounds pretty rigged if the gym leader isn't a moron.

Not opposed; though for this gym its more jumping than anything that's needed to dodge and that might be tough.

Honestly I'm half inclined to just have Gobble attempt to tank everything with Amnesia and play defense while the others stand on his head throwing around attacks.
>>

You spend the morning working with her and Tirtouga. The little guy seems to be adjusting quickly. Apparently fossil Pokemon get a bit of accelerated aging and even some genetic memory. It’s not really yours or Hana’s forte though, so you’re not sure if you both have a firm understanding.

But all the science talk turns to sci-fi talk. The two of you have seen and like a lot of the same movies. Hana knows a lot more about them though. You mention liking a certain scene, and she goes on about the director’s cut commentary and the behind the scenes stuff.

You make an offhand joke about Tirtouga being like Gamera when he flops over a little sandcastle.

She stops and frowns. “No. That’s not fair. More like Rodan. He looks like a turtle, but his personality is different.”

Tirtouga seems to have gotten the hang of things and can move like a battler now. He even has some nice moves.

“Thanks.” Hana smiles at you. Somehow that does things to your body similarly to when Laki presses against you or Keira’s lack of shirt does. It’s like her honest smile is this mysterious and rare thing. “Let’s work on one of your Pokemon now.”

You guess Mace first makes sense.

Mace eagerly jumps up, ready to show his stuff. His brace keeps him slow, though.

You’re a bit torn. Speed like Voltorb’s could be amazing. But the ability to pivot and move in a battle (or dance) is tempting too. You decide to do a bit of both.

You explain to Mace about releasing the energy in bursts to give himself a little extra push. He can make himself move around in less predictable ways and also get around faster.

“Alright. Now Mace, try it out.”

Mace takes a moment to center himself, looses a few bursts, the fires off like a rocket. He’s skimming on the ground moving around like a balloon losing it’s air and lifts off a few feet up. You automatically flinch as he zooms right at the jungle gym.

But instead of clanging against it, he zips around. Up! Down! Left! Right!

“Atta Boy! What a start!”

You train on it for the afternoon and he does amazingly. Hana offers a lot of insight, too, and helps you think about things like blowback thrust from being close to obstacles. He makes a lot of mistakes here and there, but each one teaches a valuable lesson.

He sputters out as he runs out of energy. You tell him to take it easy and rest. He’s done great. He sits down on what you guess you’d call his butt. He wants to keep going, but his body language concedes that you’re probably right about stopping. He’s got very little energy left.

You whip up a quick meal for you and Hana and your Pokemon. She helps with cutting things up.

“So what made you want to take on the gym?”

She looks at the ocean, towards the same direction you saw Keira painting that arrow before. “I made a promise.”

“To who? For what?”

She looks to you, like she’s deciding how vulnerable she can be. “I don’t know. I don’t want you to look at me differently.”

Bubble Spider. It's main ability is Huge Power for water attacks basically.
>>

araquanid the bubble spider
it has the ability water bubble which reduces fire damage, prevents burns and has the secret effect of being a water type specific version of Huge Power.
>>
>>825885
damn, gen7 is pretty good for bug types.

I'm hoping we get one for John, a Wimpod, Cutiefly, or the bubble spider would all be awesome

>>

The raw stats of it are still kinda shit. And it lacks any priority. Cutiefly's line is probably the most reliable of the them comp wise.

“I’ll reveal something if you do.” You offer.

“Reveal...” Her eyes glaze over in that strange way. She shakes her head. “I don’t know. I don’t want you to feel bad for me and make it into this whole thing.”

“I promise I’ll look at you the same.”

“Well.” She looks over to you. “I guess I’d be missing the point if I didn’t take a chance. Okay. I’ll tell you. Just, remember that promise, okay? Please?”

“Okay.”

“Well, after the accident. The car accident. And the time in the coma, and the surgeries. Aaaaaand the rehabilitation. And the trials and errors with,” she clinks her legs and taps her fake arm, “all this. After that, I made a friend at the children’s hospital.”

You get a really bad feeling about where this is going.

“Jenny. She was really nice. I didn’t really have anybody.” She inhales sharply. “She couldn’t get out at all. So we watched movies together.” Her voice starts to quiver. She shakes it off and exhales deeply. “But she always felt guilty that I’d spend my time inside with her instead of going out. We...she got some bad news and when she knew it...it was going to be over soon, she made me promise I’d go out and live. Not just stay in with escapism all day, but take chances, do things, and have a life.” You can’t see her face. She’s keeping it looking away.

You aren’t really sure what to do. Is a huge inappropriate? Will she see it as pitying?

Ah. you can’t help it. You lean over and give her a good, hard, hug. She doesn't respond.

"I'm sure she'd be really proud of you for going on this adventure."

You feel her arms awkwardly decide what to do for a few seconds before pulling you in. You feel the warm sun vanishing behind a cloud and slowly fade from your back in contrast to the warm tears on the front of your shirt.

She keeps apologizing. You get the feeling that there’s even more to her story, but decide to let that be for now. You don’t know what to do so you just tell her that it’s okay. You keep your eyes on your Pokemon just in case but keep your focus on her.

She pulls away. “That wasn’t what I” she sniffs, “meant to do.”

She smiles. Her eyes are crystal clear. You can tell she’s feeling self-conscious and worried you’ll think differently of her. Especially after that hug and cry.

You tell her about when your grandpa passed. He was always a big part of your life. You and your siblings would visit him at the daycare all the time. He’d always show you the new pokemon coming in, spoil you with candy, and you’d play around on the equipment meant for pokemon.

Then the heart attack happened. It’s not exactly like they show on television. It’s not like he just clutched his chest and rolled over. He was sweating and looking tired for a while, kept insisting he was fine, and only finally agreed there was a problem when your dad called the ambulance. Your dad lied to you and said it was fine. You lied to your little brother. Well, at least it felt like a lie. For all you knew, and for all your dad knew, or at least hoped, it was fine.

It’s her turn to hold you now. She pulls your head to her chest and you feel a little guilty about how distracting the soft feeling is. Your grandpa was a lot like your dad though and he’d probably be giving you a thumbs up right now.

For some reason, Bella looks incredibly eager to train. You pull your head up and look at Hana. She has that weird glazed over look mixed with a look of guilt and self-consciousness. She shakes her head. You both apologize at the same time but neither of you really knows why the other does it.

“Do you want to train?” She looks at Bella as the small pokemon headbutts her ankle.

Bella sits and pouts.

You and Hana squat down to face the little pokemon. “So, what are we go-”

Bella uses Water Sport on Hana.

“Bella!” You scold as Bella sticks out her tongue at the poor girl. You turn to Hana. “I’m sorry. Oh man. She got it all over your face and chest.” You take off your shirt for her to dry her face with. She gets most of it off before she realizes what she has. Her face goes from surprise to glazed again when she looks up. “You didn’t need to do that.”

“It’s fine.” You assure her. “That fabric dies quickly. Your shirt won’t dry off for awhile, though.”

Hana looks down. Her sweater is soaked and clinging her chest. She goes off to the bushes and comes back in her tank top. You can tell she’s a bit self-conscious and you try not to stare. Dad was right about the girls on this island, though.

Bella looks very defeated. You sit her down and explain to her why that was bad. Hana says that maybe Bella did it by accident. You guess that’s plausible. They both seem to want to move on from it so you let it go for now.

“Let’s work on Worry Seed.”

Bella nods. Tirtouga and Mace volunteer to be targets for it.

The first time she just sort of hits Mace with a light green ball of energy that does absolutely nothing. You and Hana encourage her to keep trying.

You try your best not to stare too obviously when Hana leans over. She keeps herself facing a certain angle to keep her scars from being too obvious, but doing so just pushes her chest more into your field of vision. It’s a good thing Hana is so pure and innocent, otherwise she might realize how pervy you’re being.

You feel a little exposed yourself. Lots of people here walk around without a shirt, but you’re not exactly a pile of muscles or anything special. You’re pretty skinny. You feel a bit stronger since that stuff with Laki, though. Huh. Actually, are your pecs a little bigger? Maybe you should lift more.

You look back to Bella. She’s doing great. She uses Worry Seed twice in a row!

“Awesome!” You give her a hug. She makes a cute, happy squeaking noise. “I’m really proud of you.” You look over to Mace and Tirtouga. “You too. Thanks for volunteering.”

Mace looks confused at his new status. You remind him that it’s temporary and he calms down.

Bella goes to rest near Togepi. The small egg pokemon seems offers and hand in friendship and Bella begrudgingly accepts for now. For a second you get a little worried, but the two are hitting it off despite whatever issue Bella seems to have right now.

You glance over to Gobble. He’s staring up at some coconuts in a tree. Some drool falls down the side of his mouth.

>>

Come on now. Also if the gym is a double battle, Gobs as much as I love him, is the most likely to sit out.

>>826789
Because... it'll be awesome when he wins?
>>
>>826776

Because move wise he has the least going for him. Mace has some slight evasion and rock moves, Bella will resist electric without rock and can make the cannon backfire extra hard if they get soaked. All 3 are good, but Bella and Mace would be my vote as of this moment without knowing what dancing does.
>>
>>826792
No reason to have him sit out unless he just doesn't want to participate. He's easily our best pokemon right now, because Munchlax is completely insane as a starter.

Stats aren't as close as they are in the game. But he is still very good. In a double battle we likely will only get 2 Pokemon. So I'm just saying which two I think might be the best. Since if we use Gobble he is likely to be prime target for the cannon, and his great special bulk will be mitigated by the SE damage.
>>
>>826835
This is true. Good point.
>>
>>826835
We should consider Mace's use of Mud Sport too.
>>
>>826842
I forgot that move existed
>>
>>826842
Amazing point, the water can probably wash it away, but that might mean it doesn't get soaked. Or even better, is covered in mud.
>>
>>826842
My God, Mud Sport is going to be amazing in the gym battle.
>>
>>826849
OOH

CLOG THE CANNON
>>
>>826855
SHOOT ROCKS AND PINMISSILES INTO IT.

Or we can try to hang back from longer range, not likely to work if water is everywhere, but mud sport will finally see use for the first time in Pokemon history.
>>
>>826835
Add Amnesia into the mix and I bet he could probably just tank a lot of electric attacks even with the water in play. Maybe even try giving him a Sitrus Berry and pray it doesn't get eaten immediately / he remembers he has it.

>>826842
Roggenrola doesn't actually get that move normally. Might be able to improvise something with Mud Slap though.
>>
>>826862
Mudslap can maybe still fuck up the cannon if he can get close enough. The way I see it our Pokemon would have 3 roles in the gym battle.

Bella: Artillery
Mace: Machinegun
Gobble: Meatwall
>>
>>826855
M8, clogging it with mud isn't even remotely possible unless either the water pressure is sub-faucet-tier or we have access to its water supply.

Even rocks probably won't work if it has any appreciable pressure to it, again, unless we can somehow get it in the water feed.
>>
>>826862
Also Bella herself has pretty high Special Defense and built in recovery moves. I think she should be in for sure. So the question is who do we want between Gobble and Mace.

>>826872
Dreams can be dreams, but we could possible just wreck the cannon.

“Come on, Gobble. Let’s dance.”

Gobble very reluctantly pulls himself away from the tree.

“Dance?” Hana asks.

“Yeah!” Keira finally comes back. “I forgot, but Gobble seemed to really want to dance before when Laki and I got Herb in his boxers in the woods.”

Hana blinks. “Boxers?”

“Anyway!” you move the subject away from how you got pranked. “What do you say, Gobble?”

Gobble looks back up at the tree.

Keira assesses the tree and gives it a strong hip check. The tree shakes, but the coconut doesn’t come down. “Hana, can you help me?”

Hana has that dazed look again and agrees to whatever Keira says. She seems a bit nervous as the two girls try to get the hip check synced up. But still, it doesn’t knock the coconut down.

“Herb, Gobble?” She asks. Gobble is eager to help. You both get on the other side of it and hip check the tree as the top shakes over to your side. You all make a little game out of it. The girls laugh and Gobble seems to temporarily forget about the food and has fun.

There’s a nice little rhythm going. Circle, shake, circle, bump. It all comes to a head when you end it with a bump together and a coconut fall down directly in front of Gobble. You’re about to offer to prepare it for him when he just takes a cracking bite out of it.

That’s terrifying.

You two girls laugh and you try not to think impure thoughts as they lean against each other after all that rhythmic hip shaking. Hana has stopped having that awkward posture where she tries to hide her scars and just goes with it. The laughter starts coming down and they both look to you, then up above your head. Their expressions suddenly change.

“Herb! Look o-”

Okay, fuck, I can't stop thinking about it.

So, obviously humans have been eating whatever they can for fucking forever, and a lot of variety has cropped up from that. So the things you can do fur cooking quests are basically endless. Let's start with the basics.

Fruits come in all sorts of rarities, forms, and flavors. We haven't even discovered them all. Nicely enough, the tropical setting even lends itself to some of the most famously bizarre ones.
The Dragonfruit is beautiful, and the Durian intimidating.
The humble Banana has its roots in a smaller, harder fruit that needed to be cooked. Conservation efforts are ongoing to recover and maintain the rich diversity of forms the Banana once took.
Hell, even applescome in so many different varieties, and those are just the established clone stocks. A cross, or even a self-fertilized apple is basically a mystery box.
There's one species of a black melon in Japan that is produced at under 100 per year.

Obviously every type of food has top-end expensive varieties. Massaged beefs, ancient wines and vinegars, white truffles.

Foi Gras, the liver of a force-fed goose, is often reprimanded for inhumane production. But the best Foi Gras can be produced by shaping an environment so packed with delicious wild herbs, berries, and insects, that the geese stay without cages and stuff themselves.

Royal jelly is fed to bee larva, and a hive can produce 500 grams per year. I'm pretty sure it's snake oil, but whatever.

The honeypot ant species has specialized workers which engirge themselves and store the energy their swollen golden abdomens.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Cactus juice, rare herbs and spices, bird saliva soup, etc. So much else is ripe for the adventuring.

And after the weird is the taboo. The ultimate food taboo in our world is cannibalism. Even ignoring meats, there's also human cheese. Fortunately, Pokemon provides us with lighter fare for taboo foods. Slowpoke tail is the original, but since they grow back it's less of a big deal if you amputate humanely.
A bigger deal is Cherubi's vestigial head. While it would presumably not hurt the Cherubi, the lore implies it might not be able to evolve anymore afterwards.

I don't know if Pokemon eggs are ever unfertilized, but that's one creepy omelette.

While Gropius or a fruiting Torterra would be fine, I know I would be uncomfortable drinking Miktank milk fresh from the source.

Anyways, maybe you should drop /ck/ a line if you're interested in brainstorming.

Ok just one.
>>
>>827185
This is super cool. I'd love to see this expanded upon.

So, question: under Kashrut law, how would magikarp be handled? Obviously it's pretty much just a fish, but its evolution is not kosher. Gyarados is something of a special case because of how different it is from its base form, and because apparently adult magikarp can grow to be enormous, but that does bring up the question of an unevolved or immature form of a pokemon being kosher while the fully-formed version is not.

Following this logic, Feebas is kosher, but Milotic is not; no problem there. What about Piplup and its line. Empoleon is obviously both a bird of prey and a steel type, making it double bad, but how would Piplup be classified? Would we consider it just an immature Empoleon and therefore not kosher, or would it be considered a separate thing and be alright?
>>
>>827008
>Fighting Foodons

>>827185
I have nothing to add, this is just good shit.
>>
>>827389
The rule right after the one for fire types says that if the evolution isn't kosher, neither are the six levels before evolution.

Piplup is not kosher because, as a water type, it does not have scales and fins.

Honestly, it feels like very few pokemon are actually kosher.
>>
>>827185
John, the Aryan Jew.

>>
What island does everyone want to go to after this one?

IIRC the ones on the right (Take) are a pirate hideout. The big one on the left is the most "modernized" with two big cities, and the middle one is like the holy Mt.Fuji.
>>
>>827698
You're absolutely right. I completely missed that.

>>827722
Gotta admit, though, it kind of makes sense for him to at least practice kosher eating habits. Really, it seems like it would make sense for that to be the norm in pokemon society.
>>
>>827787
I wanna head north and get our fossil checked out. Alternatively, we could head west and try our hand at a contest. I don't think we're ready for pirates yet though. We'll have to see if there's a public transport option or if we'll need to hitchhike.

Also, I know we've talked about truth or dare eventually, but I would like to propose an additional game: never-have-I-ever.
>>
>>827787
I think the center with the Holy Mountain is the best bet because we can get our fossil checked, learn more about culture, and go pretty much anywhere from there.
>>
>>827796
Eh, what with regular animals existing, I bet in-setting eating habits to be pretty similar to real-world ones, with a few additional ingredients like Tropius bananas. Some places probably have common spiritual eating practices, and others have nutritional guidelines and diet fads. It's hard to say what John would practice without knowing his family's religious background.

It would be interesting to know the rational behind the priestess eating rules though. Did we even find out what the name of Keira's religion is?

Also, who wants to bet that if we ever do flirt with Hana she'll be so desensitized by that point we'll have to try extra hard to get her to notice?
>>
>>827812
I don't think we got a name, it is just how things work so far.

That last idea would maybe make a great comedybin.
>>
>>827812
I think it would be hilarious that John is always dropping stuff that sets off her lewd radar, but when he does try to hit on her she just doesn't pick up on it.

>>827834
They have somewhat of a gap for me, but they are still pretty close.
>>
>>827834
My rankings are Keira, Hana, Jane, Laki, and Valerie.

They're all pretty likeable, though Jane needs to mellow out and get her mental baggage sorted before she's pairing material.

>>827853
I think Val needs more development, although I hope we don't romance Hana. I like her, but she's kinda Robin 2.0
>>
>>827853
>>827863
I kind of feel like if we go Laki we might just end up part of her harem with Val.
>>
>>827867
I mean, maybe? She likes blonde hair but that doesn't mean she'll make a harem.

I wouldn't mind though, honestly
>>
>>827863
While Gobble is going to great lengths to make her a different character, I understand what you mean. We can still help her out with coming out of her shell, but romantically I feel like things would be very close.
>>
>>827867
I'd be okay with this. We should also get her a Smoochum.

I still like Jane best not for her abrasiveness, for her passion and competitive nature. I find her need to one up people to be cute, however her paranoia leads to be desired but that's okay all the girls have their flaws
>>
>>827871
Except in bed. I'm pretty sure she would be a freak there.

>>827873
I think Jane is close to what Kat would be from an outside perspective.
>>
>>827873
I kinda want a smoochum for John. But I'll take anyone getting one.

I still think Polu bumbling into all the champ's from the different game's pokemon is hilarious.
>>
>>827846
Yeah, I want to see what Jane acts like when she actually thinks well of us before I decide what I think of her.

Laki and Val are a little weird. On the one hand they're both great options, but on the other hand they could also make a cute couple together. Hana and Keira don't have that right now, but we haven't gotten very close with Keira yet. I'll see what I think of Hana after this first gym.

Basically Polu<Laki<Val<Hana<Keira<Jane.

I'll be happy however it goes though.
>>
>>827881
We do need to find out who Polu likes and who likes him.
>>
>>827878
Maybe, I don't know but I've never thought of Kat from an outside perspective maybe missing some mischief or her heart of gold
>>827879
I hope we travel with Polu, I'm down for male bonding/rivalry
>>
>>827885
Just this time the mental issues are outward instead of inward.
>>
>>827881
I don't think Laki and Val have as much chemistry as Laki and John do, they hit it off immediately and she's probably John's best friend outta the whole group atm.
>>
>>827894
It's a good point, but to be fair, we're really only privy to John's perspective. We wouldn't neccisarily know if and when they hit it off. And apparently they did so well enough that Val was considering a fling with Laki.

I would miss the Laki/John dynamic if Val made her settle down though. I wanna give massages.

>>827869
A winner takes what they want, Anon.
>>
>>827894
Yeah, that's true. Laki strikes me as the type to just be on the borderline of rapey about taking what she wants, though.

I don't know about that, but combo moves would be cool. Like if Gobble used fling, but with Mace as the item.

Would he count as a hard stone? If he used iron defense, would he be an iron ball?

We'll call it the fastball special, unless that's already taken.

I think I brought that up in other threads too. Plus it can work for positioning too; like throw Bella upward so she can rain Toxic Spikes down at the enemy team or something else among those lines.

I feel Fling is really versatile and hope Gobble picks it up soon enough. I also feel Recycle could be fun with it too; assuming we train him to use it fast - just boomerang items right back to Gobble's hand to be thrown again.
>>

huh, I'd thought they evolved at level 15 or 20

2/3rds of our pokemon evolve with friendship. Did you plan that Gobble, or was it luck of the draw?
>>
>>833528
I doubt gobble could have planned that. It should be well known by now that at any moment the players can hop the rails and pull some unexpected stuff.

Had we done things differently, our party could have been Paras, Mankey, Slugma, and a Berry pot right now. (I do wonder how Gobble picked Budew to be what was in the egg though.)

Poor Herb. Bella's probably the last thing his Grandfather gave him.

I wonder whatever ended up happening to the daycare? Does his grandmother run it by herself? Did it get sold? Some other relative take over?

Is it waiting for Herb? Will we have to choose between accepting the family business or staying in Loanah?

To be fair, Mace is already fighting off the need to evolve. We're already doing evolution stuff. And there's no more moves left for Bella to naturally learn.

Because we hatched her, and these first levels go by so quick, and we treat her well, she's probably got a pretty high happiness/friendship.

Even if it's not something that happens immediately, now's a good time to start talking about it with Bella.

>>
>>843523
I actually thought about this a bit. There's a few different things "I can't have kids." Could mean.

1. Most likely, her uterus was damaged and amputated in part or in whole. She'd either be incapable of bearing a child, or it would be extremely unlikely. She could still have a child with the assistance of a surrogate mother though.

2. Her ovaries were damaged or removed. With no eggs, the setting would require stem cell technology far beyond our own to create new ones. Considering Hana got her organs replaced with prosthetics and not cloned ones, she would need an egg donor. If she were missing her ovaries entirely, she'd need to be taking estrogen supplements.

3. Damaged Fallopian tubes. She could have her own baby, with the assistance of science of course.

4. Maybe she meant she doesn't think she'll ever be ready to have kids. Intimacy issues or something.

I like to imagine that in the universe where we end up with Hana, all the other girls offer to try being surrogates, and it, miraculously, ends up working with all of them, and Herb ends up getting 4 girls pregnant without getting any action.
