Hello!
I am Null, and with my good friend Eins, we will be QMing. As newfags we appreciate any feedback. Let's get right into it:

A man in ragged garb, apparently a member of the clergy, meets the traveling circus you are a part of begging for help. The circus has fallen on hard times, and its master is reluctant to render assistance. Unfortunately for him, the clergymen(?) produces the Royal Seal. The circus master is compelled to help. The man refuses any details except to say his charge has been kidnapped and taken deep into some nearby ruins. Grumbling he calls over the new recruits, the easiest to replace. Eager for adventure you accept without thought... Who are you?

>Acrobat
>Magician
>Actor
>Strong man
>Animal handler
>Freak Show
The first vote (if any) for this should include a 2d100 roll to randomly determine quirk.
>Fortune teller
>Dancing Bear
>Write In

The top vote will be your character, second highest and third highest votes will be NPC's joining you.
>>
>>863297
MC
>Fortune teller
NPC
>Dancing Bear
>Acrobat
>>
To be clear, the top total votes will determine MC. Three choices per post sound good, though.

>Animal Handler

Sorry, didn't see you there.

>Both go for Magician
>Both are the only ones to roll

you didn't. You spent the first 2 sentences introducing yourselves. That's what people see on the catalog, not your intro.

also
>Null
sounds familiar? Are you really new?

Okay everyone votes are in, counting and writing.

>>863844
I realize, I thought introducing myself would be a good idea. Next time I'll put any OOC stuff at the end.

Yes I am new, Null is "zero" in a lot of different languages though so I wouldn't be shocked if I share the handle with somebody else.

Currently MC is tied between
>Acrobat
>Magician

Whichever loses will become an NPC. The second NPC is tied between:

>Actor
>Animal Handler
>Dancing Bear

Let's see some secondary votes responding to this post.

>Magician
All the way

>Magician
>Animal Handler

That's a tie breaker so I'm going to call it good enough. Writing.

As an orphan in a fishing town where nothing changed you, along with Old Jack were always the odd ones out. He talked often about his travels; cheated travelers out of their money with cards, dice, or really any game of "chance"; and he showed you the ropes.

As you got older, he might have even shown you some real magic, but he always told you: "a good trick is better than any arcane crap." Truely a master of wisdom.

Unfortunately, the day came that he cheated the wrong travelers. He managed to cover your escape but you knew you couldn't stay long. Stowing away in a barge up the river you drifted from town to town, eventually cheating the circus master himself in a card game. He offered you a job on the spot, and you accepted...

You started under another magician but quickly perfected your own act, dazzling audiences with:
>Hypnosis
>Levitation
>Fire Breathing
>Sword Swallowing
>Write In
>>
>>864300
>Fire Breathing
>>
>>864300
>Hypnosis
>>
>>864300
>Fire Breathing
LITERAL fire breathing.
As in we inhale and exhale fire.
We dragon magician now.
>>
>>864302
Now that I think about, hypnosis would be useful. Switching.
>>
>>864300
>Pulling Rabbits out of hats
And literally nothing else
>>
>>864300
What category would things like "cutting someone in half" or making things dissapear under a sheet fall under?
>>
>>864352
To my premades, probably sword swallowing. But feel free to write in "disappearing act" or the cutting person in two.

Once one is chosen I'll discuss with Eins what we think the general limits of the abilities the acts give you should be but we're pretty flexible to you guy's imagination. Keep in mind there aren't too many votes in yet if you do a write in with a justification you could easily swing the vote.
>>
Null and Eins will be back in 4-6 hours to kick off the rest of the quest.
See you later!
>>
>>864408
See ya
>>
>>864300
>Hypnosis
Yes please
>>
>>864334
This. We'll be amazing.
>>
Currently three votes for
>Hypnosis
And two for
>Pulling rabbits out of hat

Let's see a secondary vote
>>
>>865174
>Hypnosis
>>
>
>>
I'm going to call that good enough, double the votes is pretty clear. Writing. (Also sorry about the mispost there still learning the interface.)
>>
>>865276
It's fine, we all start somewhere. Also,
>Hypnosis
>>
Under Old Jack, you developed a knack for getting what you want, whether it be someone's coin purse or their admiration. But nimble fingers and fancy tricks don’t get you everywhere, so when you saw a senior magician perform hypnosis you begged him to teach you. Now, with the right conditions and a coin on a string you could get anyone to do nearly anything, as long as you had their attention.

Frustrated and wanting to learn more you stole into your mentors tent, “borrowing” a book on enchantments. You managed to memorize a basic spell before he caught you, disgusted he threw you out refusing to teach you any more. But, that was just last night, you haven’t even had a chance yet to try out the spell.

You have the Magician class and the Act Hypnosis. As a Magician, you have the skills a classic RL magician would have, also being a fairly good con man. Your Act makes you an even smoother talker, allows you to use non-magical hypnosis, and has given one spell of unknown purpose.

And so ends Char Gen. We’ll have thread 2 up and running soon, a link will be posted here and on our twitter: https://twitter.com/0NullUnd1Eins
To let you fine folks know.
>>
>>865437
Thanks for running. See you later.

Forgot to update for anyone checking here, the new thread is up: >>865861
