Last time, you began repairs, made planetfall, and sent scouts to the 5th planet. You took a look in the castle of one of the cities on the planet below, and realized that the scouts were missing. You are now racing to the planet, in your unnamed supercarrier. Your Arcanist, Markus, felt that the Knights on the planet are still alive.

"It's fine, Markus. You're just rusty, that's all. 167 millennia'll do that to a person."
He straightens. "You're right. I'll train a lot more now." [Markus has gained Personality: workaholic.]
A hologram of the AI's avatar appears before you.
<We have arrived above the planet, my Lady.>

What do you do?

You call all the Knights into the prep room adjacent to the drop room. You have several options:
Tech-Knight Malakir of Rubeus
H: 20/20
Knight-Adept Tatania of Andromeda
H: 15/15
Arcanist-Adept Markus of Ionius
H: 18/18
Knight Erzai of Teus-II
H: 20/20
Knight-Adept Maat of Trifesi
H: 20/20
Everyone with -Adept in the name has a specialization.

Take Erzia, Tatania, and Maat down planet side.
>>
"I want Erzai, Tatania, and Maat with me Malakir, I want you manning the ship's bombardment cannons. Markus, I want you ready to drop in with a gunship at a moment's notice. If we don't respond back in four standard hours, come and get us."

How do you drop?
>"Loose" drop: stealthy, greater spread. No drop pod means you can't take anything besides what you have with you.
>"Tight" drop: drop in a pod. The whole squad drops together. You can take additional weaponry or other things like that.

>"Tight" drop: drop in a pod. The whole squad drops together. You can take additional weaponry or other things like that.
We're taking a hundred pounds of meat, and an orbital bombardment becon.
>>
>>923200
Uh, why the meat?
>>
>>923232
A large mass of moving teeth makes me think there could be some kinda large monster. Something that could fall for bait.
Also you can never go wrong with meat.
>>
>>923130
>>923200
You make sure everyone is outfitted with beacon grenades, in case the worst happens. You ask the computer for meat to serve as bait, but it responds:
<We do not currently have a supply of meat.>
Oh well. You don't know what you would have done with a ten-pound pile of meat anyway.
Lemon, is that you?

>Hundred pound pile of meat.
>Well never go beyond food discussion all thread :^)
>>
>>923316
<You have been primarily consuming hydroponically grown vegetative foodstuffs with protein and fat supplements from reconstituted fake meat.>
You only have space for ten pounds of miscellaneous objects.
>>
>>923348
Is there any capacity for lab grown meat?
Could we have cattle roam the ship?
How about sequestering them away in the hanger bay?
>>
>>923352
You have genetic databases for cattle, but you need to repair the ship more before you have a reliable source of actual meat. You've been eating the equivalent of lab-grown meat, reconstitute, which is just the crucial molecules fused together and combined with flavoring. (By modern-world standards, reconstitute tastes AWFUL and would make a lot of people sick, but PKs are made of harder stuff.)
>>
Wait, what am I doing? Questions and the sort belong in the cross-talk section of the discord, linked in the OP.
>>
>>923362
Alright then, take ten pound of future explosives with corresponding detonators (two five pound future bombs) and let make like auto bots and roll out.
>>
>>923377
You pack additional high explosive grenades, and a single Preacher (Plasma Breacher) grenade for yourself. You have an inappropriate giggle at the warning on the Preacher:
:WARNING: BLAST RADIUS EXCEEDS RANGE OF GRENADE LAUNCHER:
You prepare to drop.

You pull down the harnesses on the drop pod seat, and key in the "all clear" code. You feel the odd sensation of sudden microgravity as the pod is pushed into the firing tube.
<Green light - target acquired - firing pod.>
Gravity and electromagnets blast you - and the pod - downwards toward the planet at 20000 km a second. You hit the atmosphere in less than ten seconds - the deceleration throws you upward against the harness. The pod's stabilization arrays fire, and you hit the ground less than a minute after launch at a measly 363 km per second. The pod's doors blast off, and the faint crackle of a force-field flickers to life in the opening.

[COMMAND CROWN SPECIAL]
Your hud is showing to IFFs not keyed to this taskforce about 1000km to this planet's north.

>What do?
>>
>>923427
Make sure everyone is A OK, then Sera on the left, Tatania on the right, everyone else a hundred feet back in between us. Vanguard take flight to see ahead and squad moves on the IFF marker.
>>
>>923433
"Nephilim 1, good."
"Nephilim 2, good."
"Neph 3, good. Nephilim Actual?"
Static, after you ask for ship response.

>Give up, get moving
>Try again with regular comms
>[COMMAND CROWN SPECIAL] Attempt to pierce the jamming effect with the command crown. This costs POWER, a new resource.
>>
>>923436
>Give up, get moving
I suspect jamming on the ground, let's find it and blow it into 100,000 tiny pieces.
>>
>>923440
"Damn, we don't have time for faulty comms," you snarl. "Nephilim, let's get GOING!"
Tatania grabs Erzai, and you grab Maat. Your Seraphim packs rocket you off the ground. The extra 6 metric tons seems to put a minor amount of stress on the engines. (-5 to flying checks while carrying passengers.)
You head...
>Directly north, towards the IFFs
>North-west/east (specify) to "flank" their position in case your drop got picked up
>Split the party
>Write in

"Sister, link to my navigational. We are taking the direct route."
As you fly over the surface, you get a lay of the land. It's a hellscape - with no helm on this world, you would suffocate, be irradiated, and ingest enough toxins to melt you from the inside out. The ground is broken in several places, for tunnels (SPECIAL) which your command crown's sensor suite tell you run all through the planet, dug by animals. The only things on the surface, however, are large, carnivorous plants. You see an unlucky predator stick its head above ground, and immediately get speared and eaten by a waiting tree.

While flying north, you come across a mountain.

>Go around

Sounds like the safest place in this hellhole

>>924169
>>926295
You look around for a safe tunnel. Nephilim squad looks too.

Roll 6d100. (+3 from squad, +1 from crown, -1 from terrain.)
>>
Rolled 94, 93, 12 = 199 (3d100)

>>926457
>>
Rolled 10, 21, 3 = 34 (3d100)

>>926497
And now the other three
>>
>>926457
>>926497
Ok then.

You spot a tunnel, down to the right corner of the mountain, and divebomb it, narrowly missing the stinger from a carnivorous tree. The inside of the cave is rough, in a wavy pattern, like something chewed through the mountain to make it. Your crown tells you the exit is on the other side of the mountain. It provides a path.

>Back out
>Keep going
>Don't follow the path

Questions should go in the cross-talk section of the discord.
