You really hope this roaring between Honamurei and this giant is civil discourse, because you're not really in a condition to help. Moreso even were you a hundred percent physically, experiencing death again wasn't pleasent and you do not want to fight a troll while reeling with that psychological hangover.

And while trying to keep it together your vvision turns off like a light, sending you tumbling into darkness whereyou sit up with a start. Supported by nothing but darkness and vaguely cloud-ish textured void.

Your body is probably lying facedown on the wet bridge's cold cobbles right now. But yet again you find yourself walking in dream land.

Wishing for a cigarette, you find one materializing clasped between your lips, pre-lit. Taking a drag makes you feel a lot more chill about being trapped in your own subconcious; standing here smoking is the best dream you've had since you can remember.

Reviewing the lat... however long that flashback took comes next:

Well at least you got some memories back.

You sigh and resign yourself to some dreamwalking.

You go up to the bark door with red leaves, serenedaded by the sound of rustling as the wind of it's opening shakes the leaves covering itself.

As you step out you're greeted by a forrest in fall; oranges reds and browns blanketing the branches and ground as far as your sharp eyes can see.

Every step is a symphony of sound as the shedded leaves sing out to your progress, they cling to your legs as you wade onward and inwards to a serene and secluded clearing.

The clearing has seen use as the leaves are trampled and flattened, though you cannot tell how recent, how many or by who or what due to the vast amount of tracks overtaking one another amidst the packed floor of leaves. So instead you cast your gaze around.

In the distance to the North you see a towering spire of warm and dark emerald climb into the sky. The strange obelisk twists and turns into a beautiful helix, a dualith of mesmerizing quality that makes you question whether it is natural or not.

Your skygazing also leads you to confirmation that this someone's dream. As the sky itself is liquid, behaving with all the qualities of water, it reflects the forest canopy back down to your woundorous gaze as the silverish liquid flows from an unseen source to a similarly mysterious destination.

To the South, you see a quant bundle of dirt. Almost like a half sphere. It looks to be from whence you came if the trail behind you is to be trusted in this dream world.

You begin wading to the North, making slow going. Something about these woods is extremely soothing and satisfying. So you begin to hum the tune of the song Honamurei sang to you, smiling as steps turn to hops which turns into you sprinting through the forest with reckless abandon.

Stepping into the sky you spin and strike the trunks of trees as you stretch your metaphorical legs. It's fun shooting from tree to tree, branch to branch, place to place, so when you slide through the leaves as you land; sending the illustrious colours spiralling into the space behind you in a startling sonata of sound and speed.

You almost don't notice the small, sleekit, skulking creature standing, stationary, staring at your sudden, surprising arrival.

It probably doesn't help that [ZEN] kicked in somewhere along your excercise and now you are glowing from every pore with a set of ethereal wings. Poor thing probably thinks he's died and you're here to steward his soul.

"Hello." You say waving and smiling. The creature just silently asseses you. "What were you doing just now?" You ask, noticing in Zen form your voice is... normal.

"..." It opens it's mouth before deciding against it.

You find yourself frowning and reaching out a glowing hand to the creature, "How did you die?"

"I...I'm not dead. I'm just asleep." It answers in a familiar voice. You can't really place it due to the weird growliness that's running through it.

You sigh, exaggerating the gesture slightly, "That's a relief. Seeing ghosts would be new even for me." Your joke causes him to come closer, "What were you doing?" you repeat your question.

"I was journeying to the spire of names. It is said the journey can reveal the truth of yourself and that a title awaits those who make the journey." The animal whines as he continues to spill his story; almost like he was waiting for someone to talk to, "Instead I have spent weeks in this forest, making little progress."

"Weeks alone must not have been easy." You sympathise, pulling up a floor and sitting while your new companion does the same.

"Yes. I have resorted to silly things like crafting this bandanna out of hemp and doing silly dances when my mind took leave of the sense."

"Well, I've only just started travelling and this forest is great. Really relaxing place."

"Perhaps I have not looked at it as peaceful. Merely an obstacle to my objective." He muses.

"Take it easy. Enjoy the journey a little, it'll be fun." You advise, if he were a human you'd nudge his arm with your elbow. But you'd probably lodge the little fox in a tree.

"I don't understand. The journey is important, I have to find out the truth." He shakes his head, but you butt in.

"Tell you what, how about we travel to the spire together?" you offer him your hand to shake, "I'll show you a good time." You flash a cheeky grin.

"Tch, let's go." He says as he shakes your hand with a small paw.

You try to tone down the brightness a bit, since your friend is squinting, but can't seem to work out how.

"Yes." You say simply, "It was either the spire or this mud place I saw."

His eyes widen, "You saw my home? Recently?"

"Yes, like I said; I've only been here a short while." A little bird chirps from nearby and you can't help but follow it's flight as it crosses your eyeline.

"You came all that way in a short time? That took me weeks!" He protests as he hops in front of you.

"Well. I am much stronger than you, plus you have small legs." You quip with a grin. "But enough complaining, what's your name?"

"I've learned that a name doesn't make you, you."[/i] You say as the fox has t go around a particularly large root. "In fact, labels and names sometimes make people act like other people." Your mind begins to drift back into a memory but instead you find the world becoming more vivid. Almost in retaliation of your emotional change.

"An interesting thought." He says.

You look up to the spire and see that you've not made as much progress as you'd hope, both philisophically with your comrade and in terms of distance. "This is a pleasant walk, wouldn't you agree?"

"Yes. Some company has lightened my burden immensely." The fox admits

"good." You say.

You step up on a rock and marvel at the view in this dream. It's well. Dreamlike. The reflective sky, the unmoving sun that perfectly hits the streams running through the Forest.

In fact, the streams seems to reflect the light more than they should; there's some nice little columns of light rising upward; almost like the water is enhancing the sunlight rather than just reflecting it.

You should ask Lexington about that.

"Hey buddy, let''s take a break." You say taking a seat on the big rock. You let your legs hang off the edge of it and take in some of the dream sun with a contented sigh; this is nice.

"A little help?" Your friend asks as he prepares to spring up. You oblige by catching him in your arms when his claws fail to gain traction on the rock. "Thank you." He says as you put him to rest on the rock beside you.

"Looks like we're making some porgress you note." Staring up at the helix spire.

"We've made more progress today than I have in weeks. Astounding." His fox mouth actually hangs open and you're struck by how adorable it is.

"I am pretty astounding." You say with a smirk.

"I think you were right, enjoying the journeey and travelling together has made time fly and gifted me with renewed energy."

"Sometimes you just need to relax and not let your future objective get in the way of your current life." You counsel.

"So what are your hobbies?"

"I've not got many aside from training and fighting, but I am a good dancer." You admit rubbing your head.

"Perhaps you could teach me to dance?" He says sagely.

You both laugh loudly, you tell him your name and spend a long time talking about nothing of consequence.

When you return to the path and catch your friend you notice something. A set of tracks; directly heading for the spire. Specifically fox tracks. They are worn as if a long time has passed since they were made.

"Shall we continue, Purps?" you friend asks happily.

This is a dreamplane. Some of the places are based on the wooded areas around Grinnsmon and some areas are intertwined with his own feelings and desires.

If you ever read an essay about Alice in Wonderland (if you're an english nerd/ sub editor like I was) you'd (hopefully) see some similarities.

So yeah, expect more in a few hours, If nobody else votes I'll call it for not mentioning the tracks.

"Yeah let's go." You say, though you don't really get far.

Standing before the two of you is a wall, constructed out of an unknown material the translucent obstruction slowly morphs between reds and earthen browns all the way to blinding white and then back to the reds. It is a slow routine that you both stop and find quite entrancing.

Nearby is a small pond overlooked by a willow, the tree bending down as if to smaple the silver water.

There are no leaves resting on the floor in this part of the forest, instead short uniform green grass stubbornly stands upright.

It's pretty peaceful, but the jarring orderly line where the leaves stop coupled with the unusual wall that went unseen despite it's size... you find yourself warily eyeing the obstacle, noticing for the first time that it connects and pierces the sky sea.

You wander over to the pond while Fox heads straight to the wall, the pool is almost static;; like someone ha dpainted over the surface of an actual pond with silver paint.

You feel a tapping on your shoulder and turn round to find the offender is a hooded thing with a stick. It is crouched and hunched, though you think it would only be waist height even were it not. Your hands grow sticky as you look into the pond and she grins up at you in bloodlust.

"Correct in a way. It would not have such a physical effect on you if you did not believe it was still a part of you." He explains, bonking you on the head with his lantern staff, "Like the fox; you also have answers to seek." He jumps off of you, landing on the water and wlaking across it. He indicates that you should follow and you note, while The Violet Demon walks upside down beneath you - this creature has no reflection.

You clench your fists as you walk across the pond, feeling a pain in your head. You don't care right now, the creature looks back at you and you have a feeling if it had a mouth it would be curved into a wry smile. "I am determined not to be her." You say.

"Oh? Are you going to bring back the people she killed? Are you going to hop bodies like a spirit of posession?" He laughs, the noise sounding like some kind of planes dog.

"I'm going to be better than her?" You reply feeling the familiar weight of your polesaw begin coming into existense on your back. The silver liquid begins rippling away form you as if you are the eye of a firghtful storm and the reds and vibrant green grasses begin to fade around you.

"Well then. Prove it whilst I see if your friend is ready to continue." The creature nimbly leaps off on all fours, you move to continue after him.

But an uppercut from the pool blindsides you and sends you flying through the willow tree and into the forest.

You bounce into the leaves, blowing them into the air and bouncing twice more before you manage to get your legs under you and sliding through the undergrowth.

Stopping yourself and slowly standing you stare at the two red lights approaching through the shade of the interlocking branches.

A monotone laugh, one that you're intimately familiar with. As Violet approaches, claws on her hands. You draw your polesaw as she steps onto the willow tree you just crashed through.

"Hey." She says simply.

"Hey." You reply getting ready to hold your ground as she walks over the warped and twisted wood.

"So you're the next me, huh?" She eyes you and your weapon up and taps a claw against her temple. "Didn't think I'd be a size queen."

"Well bitch, some of us don't purely use our anger and cruelty to fight." You retort which causes her eyes to bulge and your own montoone laugh to echo through the woods.

"Ha, at least I finally got a sense of humour. Oh Purps. I know all about your rage, lust, cruelty. How you broke poor Remy." She steps off onto your level, around seven feet away now. "Then you stole his son and lied to him." She pauses and licks her lips, "Bitch."

Why yes, this is what happens when you don't know about yourself. You hurt others.

"Let's cut the mind games." You say as you ready yourself for an onslaught.

"But they're so fun." She pouts as her claws are replaced by steel boots. violet clicks her heels together once and before you know it your instincts scream at you to block to the side.

The clearing loses it's colour and the sky sea splashes downwards at the impact, your arms goes numb.

You lock eyes with your foe and she pivots on he rother leg to attempt an axe kick; only for you to step back and swing with all your strength.

Instead of Violet being sent flying she's slides inside your range and kicks your ankle out from under you. From your new perspective on one knee, you look up at the frightening lack of effort and exertion from her.

Before you can even attempt to stumble to your feet, you see her wind up to punt you into the canopy.

We have to remember Violet is a lot more experienced with her numerous emotions and quite vicious at that.

We have things she does not, and we're trying to prove we're better than her. Probably not at fighting, though.

Were the both of them less trigger-happy, I'd have gone for the big hug/merging or a long discussion around a table, drinking tea.

You drop you polesaw, throwing both your hands in fornt of the incoming boot. Instead of being punted for miles, you're knocked back into the air slightly.

Landing quickly, you're greeted to sarcastic applause as Violet holds your polesaw. "Wooow this might actually hurt me if I hadn't spent most of my life planning to fight someone with a similar style."

You take a deep breath and slide into your Sunshine Fist stance, feet shoulder width; right hand forward in an open palm and left hand by your waist as a fist.

Your opponent genuinely looks surprised, as if she expected you to panic without your weapon. Maybe that was one of her failings. "DEALER'S DUE!" She shouts and you see four black oily clones split off from her.

From your memories you know the dangers of this technique, each hits as hard as the original and they move on their own; the threat compounded by the fact Violet hands one of them your polesaw.

They begin moving, faster than your eyes can track - the leaves being kicked up into the air the only evidence you'r ebeing surrounded by bloodthirsty murder clones.

One stops, spinning in the air towards your head with a kick, though despite it's strength it is easily redirected with your palm. the problem is that when you move to counter with a rib breaking punch another clone moves to sweep your legs.

Jumping backwards your polesaw is enroute to bisect you, blocked only by you managing to get two hands on the pole. A test of strength against the clone wielding your weapon, one which you're slowly losing ground.

You see out the corner of your eye a clone and Violet both barrelling through the air towards you, aiming to dropkick you through the huge oak tree you're beside.

What's all this bullshit about Violet being the bad guy? She was a good girl, she dindo nuffin! All those giants volunteered to fight us in blood duels and Richter killed us because he was scared.

Also I would have liked to talk to her some more. Maybe admit that she was right and we have done terrible things. If the little Yoda guy wanted us to show that we were better than her, maybe he didn't mean better at fighting.

You drop your left shoulder, forcing the clone assaulting you off balance and stumbling forward. He eats the dropkick of Violet and goes crashing through the tree with her.

But the other clone managed to somehow arrest her momentum and begin assaulting you with a flurry of footwork that set you on the backfoot.

You have to dip, duck, dodge, deflect and bakc up. Her attacks don't strike home, but each one takes a little more of your stamina. Eventually the clone leaps forward with a flying kick, you catch it in your outstretched palm and grapple the creature to the ground. With a twist, the oily leg breaks - leaving a leaking of fluid darker than night.

You hear noises above and see polesaw clone and another clone in the treetops, you hear the cocking of Violet's sawgun that took out Richer from above and behind you.

"Nice work Purps. But You're outmatched, I'm faster, stronger, more experienced." She lists offf in a lilting tone. "Look on the brightside, at least Hona or Luc won't see how badly I'm going to beat you."

"Well. If you think you're better than me; I should probably give you what you want." You close your eyes and straighten to your full height and roll your shoulders. "Violet, this isn't even my final form."

Inhale.

Exhale.

Your skin begins to tingle as you forget your pride.
You don't see yourself as an object with wants or needs.
You have no interests outside that of this moment.

Inhale.

A small bird chirps and lands on your shoulder as you slowly slide back into the stance of Sunshine Fist.
You are no longer ashamed of your failings.
You no longer worry for your safety.

Exhale.

You desire to hurt Violet disapears.
The stacked odds no longer frustrate.
Not even your desire for victory survives.

Inhale.

You begin to glow, astral wings form out of your back and your body's energy skyrockets. Another beacon of light joins that of the forest; this one piercing a vortex through the sky. An impossible inverted whirlpool to a dimension beyond that sky-sea.

Exhale.

You open your eyes and see Violet, she looks impressed - normally that would make you smile but instead you are emotionless.

Your muscles are coiled like a kadashi viper; but there is no tension. No anticipation, no stress or nervousness.

You simply are.

Inhale.

In her arrogance, Violet fires first; allowing you to easily sidestep and gain some distance on the the lone clone standing at floor level.

The kicks are eay to dodge, you rarely even move your feet except when aimed there.

Duck, Duck, Tilt, Duck, Jump, Step, Sidestep, Tilt, Tilt head, Duck.

Your first glows with white gold energy as your Zen form begins to form fully. You feel the polesaw coming and step forward; inside the oncoming roundhouse kick of the first clone and outside the attempted downslash of your polesaw.

The energy of the punch pierces the clone and keeps travelling; wiping out the crippled clone and a portion of the jungle.

A deep furrow, a trench of devestation tat extends all the way back to the clearing where the pond and the strange colour shifting wall is all that marks the two clones' passing.

But you inhale and turn, leaning impossibly far back and letting Violet's sawblades sail over you towards polesaw clone. Luckily for it, it gets the handle in the way of the shot and spins; leaving you more horizontal attacks to dodge.

You limbo under the fifth consecutive slash just as easily as the first and exhale.

Leaping over the clone you skid to hault only to see two halberds shaped like a ninja star sailing towards your throat before you can capitalize on the clone's epxosed back.

You inhale.

You guys used this weapon in a flashback you know it existed when you were Violet.

Instead of moving like Violet anticipated, you decide to push out your chin; welcoming the blade. In a dreamrealm you surely can't die right?

I mean it's not like you've been in pain from all the kicks you've taken in this fight, or rammed through a tree by a punch and bounced across the ground.

Not as if you're dreamwalking using magic which can and will take a toll on your body?

It is at the moment you feel the metal blade hit your neck you realize you have made a big mistake.

You quickly steel yourself and the blade slams into your neck with the sound of a hammer being struck by an anvil.

Violet hesitates and you grasp the weapon out of the air as it bounces of your skin.

Exhale.

You spin the weapon as you pirouette, form coming naturally to you with the weapon that is - after all a part of you. Cutting down the clone looking to bring your polesaw to bear you send the Star Halberd back to your foe in one smooth movement, the hurled star aiming to cut her in half at the waist.

She takes to the air, somersaulting and reaching out to recollect it as she flips.

You turn again picking up your polesaw and bringin it to bear. The two of you clash chest to chest before leaping back to both of your max range and exchanging a flurry of blows, your powerful polesaw holding steady against her two halberds.

Inhale.

You step forward, pressuring her for the first time with superior strength. She tries to ensare your polesaw by reforming the star and twirling it like a barrier, but you hold on to the shaft with your left hand and step forward with a devestating right hook before she can rob you of the weapon.

Sunshine fist energy surrounds you as you deliver the blow and Violet goes flying into the distance.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Your zen form holds, but the polesaw reforms as your default saw. It takes almost a full minute, but you find Violet with your default saw as well. Waiting you on the other side of a small stream.

You step into the discoloured amber light and inhale.

BOSS FIGHT: VIOLET DEMON

You give your saw some slack, letting it land amongst the fall leaves.

She does the same, blood beginning to trail from her lips.

You exhale.
