You are Yu, a physically talented high school student who has discovered he can stop and slow time at will. The last three days have yielded rather strange events, your friend Masumi is keeping some kind of secret from you, your sister’s friend Akemi has revealed the existence of other mages and that her mother is one of them. On top of all that, you have just had a run in with some kind of monster that feeds off stolen and lost time, fighting for your life against this monstrosity.

Whatever this thing is planning, you don’t intend on giving it even a moment of its stolen time back. You can’t help but feel like the prey this time instead of predator, but you figure it’s almost certainly uglier than it is powerful.

You decide to slow time to about 50% and study its moves, fight it until you can come up with a strategy. Time starts to slow down and you prepare for its offensive as it crouches low, ready to burst forward. It suddenly rushes forward at incredible speed; it almost runs you through with its claws immediately. If you had decided to hold back any further you may have perished already.

You duck its incredible claws as they let out a sickening howl, piercing through the air itself as they slash frantically. The second claw comes even faster, slashing into your arms as you protect your body, blood begins to trickle unto the ground as the beast continues its assault. You instinctively attempt to gain some distance, back stepping out of its range. It pounces forward and smashes its head into your body, which sends you tumbling to the ground. You barely get to your knees when it lashes at your head from above. You bite down hard as you slow time further, just enough to dive and roll out of the attack area as the concrete cracks beneath its strike.

The beast lets up for a moment and you climb to your feet, preparing for its next assault. You attempt to recall its attack sequence, trying to find an opening to attack. You can’t keep this fight up forever and you get the feeling this thing can. You open your mind, attempting to perceive even the tiniest details that may reveal a weakness.

You figure out that its slowest to react or continue attacking after a downswing, at least from your brief experience with this beast. You notice its small eyes in its head, they look soft enough, softer than anywhere else on its body at least. Taking its sight may turn this battle around, but you consider that a wounded, angry beast rampaging around won’t be easy to deal with either. You feel confident that holding back until now was the right call, if you went all out earlier, you would not have the energy to pull off the next, vital move. Destroy its eyes, then perhaps try to cave in its skull in one move, its forward leaning position could be used to pull it over at some point as well. Fortunately for you, several attacks can be completed as one move thanks to your new powers, but if you fail to destroy it then, you doubt you could stop time many more times after that. The monstrosity lunges forth once more as you prepare your counterattack.

You duck its first scythe like attack, sidestepping the follow-up attack against your legs, brushing up against the alley wall. It thrashes its arm in a swooping motion towards you, nearly pinning you against a wall as shards of concrete are flung about the area, as you barely roll under the attack. When you complete the roll, you look up at its other claw, coming down on you now from above, with its other arm occupied by the wall still, it’s the best time to strike.

Time completely halts as you leap on its outstretched arm and rush to its head. You arrive and dive into a short fighting stance, unleashing a flurry of attacks aimed at its eyes. You make sure to get your knuckles right in its eyes one after the other. By the time you have landed three punches in each eye, time slips free of your grasp as it immediately swings it arm back toward itself. You dive between its legs and out of its reach, rolling several times on the ground. You rise as fast as humanly possible, to see the beast is thrashing about in your general direction, slowly moving forward. You now have your back against the end of the alley, preparing for when the creature comes close again. You need to get back to your position near the alley entrance, just in case help arrives or you need to retreat.

>Attempt to get past it by predicting its moves and moving quickly, with no intention of countering or wasting precious editable time(1d100)

You feel your body burning, your injured limbs are starting to numb from pain, you need to finish this before fatigue and blood less catch up with you. Even its eyes were relatively hard, in order to defeat it, landing quick successive hits to the skull is the only way you can find victory. You don’t know if you can stop time much longer, your head is pulsing in agony, you can feel each explosive heartbeat reach your skull. There is no longer any time for doubt as the creature seems to have somewhat regained its senses, it appears to be sniffing you out, even without any apparent nose. Its trajectory is a little off but it’s still lunging in your general direction once again.

You kick off the wall, launching straight at the beast as it sweeps at you in mid-air. You slow time to a crawl as its horizontal sweep is completely on target, you can’t dodge and blocking will cause you harm, so you kick off its arm towards the alley wall. Now over five meters off the ground, you reach the alley wall, spinning and kicking off again with everything you have. You crash your fist into its skull, chipping away some of its exoskeleton and plant your legs firmly on its shoulders. You aim for the crack and fire off a massive barrage of punches, dumping your sheer will to survive into its ugly mug. At some point you slip into real time as a claw latches onto your left leg, digging deep, tearing at muscle, blood starts spitting everywhere. You slow time again, continuing your assault until after several dozen punches you pierce its outer shell, splashing you’re a strange, sticky yellow membrane like substance. The creature wails out and starts its death throes. When you feel it trying to throw you away, you decide it’s probably safer for it to do so, rather than be in point blank for much longer. You go numb as you roll towards the edge of the alleyway, the straight clearly in view. You can’t walk and barely move, but the beast is thrashing about on its knees, with a mix of yellow and purple liquid spurting out of its head.

“Whatever the fuck you are; your ugly ass is done”

Those are the only words you can muster as it eventually goes quiet and limp. You may have survived the battle, but your wounds are not minor and you have trouble imagining yourself getting home on your own.

You decide that you lost any realistic expectations of yourself and your abilities the moment you gained these powers. You can make it home with a bit of grit and determination surely. You rise to your feet, your left leg causes significant pain, but it seems like no major arteries were severed and the muscle is at least functional still. Regardless, your shoulder and arms are slowly oozing blood as well, so you decide its best to get home quickly to treat those wounds. You decide to grab your takeout bag and take it with you, most the food is still hot, that fight barely lasted a minute in real-time. More importantly, the serviettes provided can be used as temporary bandages until you get home. You do a rough patch up and head on home.

There are several moments when you feel like passing out, but you push through the pain and weakness until you make it home. You come inside as quietly as you can, trying not to wake the girls up as you grab some bandages and pain killers from your household first aid kit and head into your room. You do a more thorough job trying to clean the wounds and apply good bandages, but your no doctor and it takes time and effort, especially when bandaging your own arms. As soon as you have time to lie down and rest you fall straight into a deep sleep.

When you wake, your body is aching all over and you realize that you just joined a club and are expected to be at early morning training, plus you need to get some answers from Akemi, just what was that beast?

Thanks for playing, I will post on the twitter the next thread times once I have everything organised, might not be until after Christmas. Feel free to leave any feedback or suggestions, I would love to hear from you guys.
