The dark expanse of space stretches infinitely, a black desert only broken up by glittering specks of light. Most of these are stars, planets, and other celestial bodies... However, many happen to be the glow of engines, the reflections of light off polished hulls, and the shine of beam weaponry as they prime to fire.

Beneath this view, a team of men and women scramble around, shouting to each other as they try to make sense of the battle they find themselves the focal point of. Without warning, an explosion rips through the vessel they're on, and screens around the room flash.

"Main mirror shields offline! Secondary shields are at half power!"

"Thrust Core B isn't responding! Beginning ejection process!"

"Spiral Lance Batteries two and three are overloaded! Unable to fire for three minutes!"

You finally step forward after drawing your cape closely around you. Your group's symbol is emblazoned on the back, and you want to remind everyone of what they're here for.

"Hold fast, people! We've barely even begun to fight!" You stand before the massive curved panes that simulate being on the edge of the ship's deck, with the fabric of space seeming to wrap around you. The effect is not lost on the crew, who immediately stare at you. You grin, and turn dramatically to them...

The star's lights softly illuminate your muscled form, your struggles over the years carving you into a pillar of raw masculinity.
You glance down at yourself. You know how you look makes an impact on the crew's morale. You shake your dark blue hair slightly to clear your head, and spring into action.

"Status report!" You point at the closest person to you, a large, muscled man with greenish hair.

"Yes! Spiral Generators are at 80 percent! Enemy units seem to have unknown weaponry that can overload our defenses! Enemy count is..." His eyes widen. A female voice rings out over his. "The enemy is everywhere! It's like an infinite number, spread across the sky!"

Your grin only widens as another explosion rocks your flagship, barely missing you. That one would have killed, easily. Your mind drifts back to those first days on the surface, as a teenager who could barely understand the world around them.

Man, you had issues. It's to be expected, considering what happened with your parents, but still, you wish you could go and deck your old self.

You straighten up further. "We're going to counter their strikes!"

"Fire the Spiral Lance Batteries at the back our Mirror Shields to strengthen them! We'll bounce everything they throw at us at their allies!"

To their credit, your friends don't even question you. They learned long ago that you can pull off some insane stunts to lead everyone home safely.

The bright green lasers impact the shimmering barrier that keeps your vessel from becoming another pile of wreckage on the battlefield, energy spinning off in long arcs. Another barrage of enemy lasers streaks into you, but the empowered shield reflects them, splitting the giant beams into hundreds of smaller ones, each lancing off into another point of light in the dark. Explosions flare in the distance as your foes are extinguished.

You stand and watch the destruction. So long ago, you'd have felt nothing for this, using a complete lack of emotion to calculate the best way out of the situation you were in... Now, however, you revel in your feelings, that old barrier to LIVING nothing more than a memory. You prepare to launch your counterattack...

"We're not going to let them act any more. Begin charging the Probability Nullifier. They'll be twisted out of our reality! "

You feel the ship shift as power is rerouted, and a massive cannon rises from the top. You can see space twisting around it as power is charged, enough to warp the fabric of reality itself. You feel your heart surge. You've been waiting to use this one.

"Charge is at 60%! 70%! Ready in five seconds!" That feminine voice calls out again.

Your grin becomes a full smile, almost predatory. "Fire as soon as it's ready! Let's rip them apart!"

Your excitement is infectious, and you can hear several low chuckles from the bridge crew. They aren't just thinking of survival anymore either. They want to win, to finish this fight for good, just as much as you do. Even out in space, unfathomably far from your home... you're committed to doing whatever it takes, physics be damned, and so are they... You'll win this, no matter what, or your name isn't...

---------------------------------------------

This... was meant to be the story of a man that would challenge his destiny. He was meant to rise above his humble beginnings and ignite a flame that would illuminate the very universe. However, this was not to be. He was crushed, and those with him were lost to darkness.

However, fate is not so cruel as that. Where lives are taken in one place, others are able to carry on in their place.

This is the story of a man that will soon become the center of legends for centuries to come. Jace is about to make the discovery that will change their life forever...

------------------------------------------------------

Your footsteps echo in the dark. The tunnel you walk down smells old, which is a good sign. Usually means you'll find ruins soon.

Your name is Jace. You live in Kozu Village, which... isn't a bad place, honestly, but you've never felt comfortable there. You work as a Delver. What's a Delver? Well, when a Digger does a good job, they're entrusted with going into the tunnels near the village to find old Precursor ruins. There's a big concrete building that half of your people live in, that was the start of your village, hundreds of years ago, and delvers like you have continually found bits of technology to improve your lives.

However, it isn't without its dangers. Your parents were Delvers too...

You shake your head. No, not going down that road. Focus on the job. You can't go back empty-handed again. You use your hand drill on a bit of wall, and find another small corridor. Jackpot.

>Continued
>>
You wander down the new path, noting that the floor has changed to concrete under you. You are making a mental note to try and dig through it later when you see... light, up ahead. Huh.

You follow the light and emerge into... probably the biggest space you've seen in a long time. A tall shaft stretches for hundreds of feet above you and a tiny hole at the top lets light in.

What is that? You've heard rumors of a "surface" and you even remember your mom mentioning it... no, bury those feelings. No time for it. You glance around for a distraction... Oh. There's a skeletal hand, seemingly crushed under a boulder. It holds something shiny... You bend down and take it. It seems to be a small golden drill. Despite being metal, the trinket is warm in your hands. It makes you feel...

The ground suddenly shakes, and you snap out of your thoughts. Earthquake.

>Dig a hole and hide
>>
You work fast, drill spinning in your hands, and you manage to have a small hole made in a few seconds. Your curl your small, malnourished body up as the shaking continues.

You find yourself staring at the small drill you pried from that body. Who were they? Why were they carrying this? Was it mom or- stop that, focus, Jace.

The rumbling stops, and you poke your head out. Huh, that was faster than usual.

>Head back to the village, gotta get a team to dig this poor soul out
>Keep exploring, you don't have anything to show, except this drill thingy, and it isn't exactly impressive.

>>
You pull yourself out of the hole completely and dust yourself off and think. Now, you could go back and get people to pull the rock off of this poor soul, but... they aren't going anywhere, and you still haven't found anything worth the trip out here.

You idly thread a strip of leather through the top of the small drill as you walk, tying it off into a makeshift necklace. Having the small pointy trinket on your chest feels... right. It's a feeling you haven't had since your parents disappeared. I mean, they were Delvers too, not like it was exactly unexpected, but...

You blink. You've just kinda wandered back into the tunnel you came from, and now you're in a new corridor. There's metal pieces on the ground here and there, twisted into useless shapes by time and probably rocks falling on them.

However... there's a shiny bit sticking out there. Your drill gets to work on freeing it...

After a few minutes, you can see what it appears to be... a face.

What.

This thing is a big metal face. Some sort of idol, maybe? At the very least the guys at the village could melt it down...

You breathe a sigh of relief. At least this made the trip worth it.

>Head back, your supplies are low and you need to get a crew back to carry this back, and another to deal with the... person you found.
>Camp nearby. You're tired, and this spot seems safe enough.

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK IS THAT DEAD GUY?
>>

>>Camp nearby. You're tired, and this spot seems safe enough.
>>
You plop down on the floor nearby, tired from your exertions. This thing isn't going anywhere. Sure, you're out of rations, but you'll live. You remove your pack, set up your bedroll, and clean off your drill before resting. As you do these tasks, your mind wanders...

You think about what comes next. Well, obviously, you need to inform the digger crew about the face and... the body. Then you have to take a mandatory rest... probably have to deal with the chief, you've been out for several days, even if you aren't that far away, you missed your check-in yesterday...

But then what? Wander the tunnels forever, until you're crushed? Until you get lost and can't find your way back? Is that your life?

You can't even say that you know if you'll have kids at this rate. You don't get close to anyone back home. The girls make you nervous, and they don't speak well of you anyways. The guys are all trying to out-man each other, but... what's the point? You prefer to lose yourself in your work.

Your mom... she talked about the Surface. A place with no ceiling, just open air. A place where you could spread out, a place of true freedom. That might be nice... Damnit, where did your parents disappear to 9 years ago...?

You drift off to sleep with your eyes still wet.

--------------

Morning comes abruptly, with another quake. You panic and prepare to hide, but you realize that the shaking feels... distant. You hope the village is okay.

>Continued
>>
After a short time, you walk through the reinforced arch that serves as a boundary between your village and the unsafe areas that aren't mostly free of falling debris. You look around the village. There's a crumbling chunk of skyscraper (you found that word in an old piece of Precursor literature) that serves as the main housing, a pit of concentric circles with a fire in the center, and much more...

"JACE! WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?"

It's the chief. He's tall, fat, and loud. He does a decent job managing things, but his ego tends to make him hard to talk to. You don't look him in the eyes as he yells.

"YOU MISSED YOUR CHECK-IN NEARLY TWO DAYS AGO! WE WERE GETTING READY TO PRONOUNCE YOU DEAD! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?"

>"Sorry, sir"

You look up at the Chief's face. You know what, no. You did your job, and it isn't like anyone suffered for you not checking in. Rules are fine and all, but without you doing your job, there wouldn't be any village to have rules for.

"Sir... I wasn't coming back empty-handed." You manage to growl out.

The Chief is taken aback for a moment, but regains himself. "Then where is it, you little punk?"

You stare back harder. "Tunnel F, I made a new corridor. There's a body under a boulder, and-"

There's a resounding CRASH, and you're rendered blind for a moment. Golden light streams down from above, filling your vision.

You blink rapidly, trying to see what happened...

The ceiling. It's gone. IT. IS. GONE.

In its place is a falling piece of metal... no, that's moving... some sort of robot?

It collapses to the ground, wrecking the common areas of the village.

The Chief is in shock. Villagers from all around are staring.

You watch the metal monstrosity for a moment, and then... it starts to stand. You can hear a voice coming from it... "Urgh... where am I?"

It's alive? That thing could have crushed someone! Your mind briefly flashes back to that skeletal hand, sticking out from under a rock, and you feel a flame ignite in your heart. You won't let this thing smash up your village.

You stride towards the thing, looking it directly in the eye. You pick up a small piece of rubble as you do and chuck it straight into its weird, animalistic face.

"HEY YOU!" You shout, louder than you ever have. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, SMASHING UP MY VILLAGE?"

The thing regards you for a moment, unsure of what to do, before you hear a chuckle. "Oh? A human thinks it can challenge me alone? Guess I have to- URK!" You see its head jerk away suddenly, as something leaves a dent in the side of its face.

You look for where that came from... and see a girl. She's tall... very... uh... shapely, and is firing a very large rifle at the monster, leaving small dents all over it. She finally lands in front of you, skidding to a halt.

"All right, kid, you'd better get back!"

You can't help but stare. This girl is wearing less clothing than you've ever seen a girl have on... and she's certainly prettier than the village girls... She fires more shots at the creature, and it falls over, screaming again.

"I only knocked it backwards! It could still get up and get us!" The girl begins to run, long red hair trailing behind her.

The girl shakes her head and follows you as you drill through another wall of dirt and break into one of the outlying passages in the village. You see several windows overlooking the thing as you slowly ascend, heading for... where are you heading?

You unthinkingly grasp the drill around your neck, and the metal face from before flashes into your mind. Maybe it has something to do with this metal monster...

"So, which village is this?" Yoko asks as you squeeze through a cave-in that wasn't worth cleaning up.

"Kozu village. Are you from the surface?" You ask back.

"Nah, I'm from the pit nearby. It's called Littner. Although I've lived on the surface for most of my life... Where are we going, anyways?"

"There's a face... I found it in the tunnels. I think it has something to do with that thing."

"That thing is called a Gunman. Is the face you found a Gunman?"

You shrug. "No idea. I didn't finish digging it up yet. Maybe you can tell me..."

You emerge into a room with more windows. You're pretty high up now, and near the arch that leads to the face. You see Yoko run to a window and lean down, readying a shot...

You watch on with interest as Yoko takes aim.

"I'm targeting it's power conduits. If I take them out, it'll stop him in its tracks..."

You watch her rifle kick as she takes the shot. The... Gunman, was it? The Gunman roars and topples to the side, but it is still CLEARLY moving.

"Damnit, it must have backups!" Yoko grabs your arm and drags you to a nearby staircase, and you both tumble down as the Gunman swings its weapon into your previous location.

You groan as you sit up. "Maybe we should hurry to the face..."

Yoko winces at her new scrapes, but nods. "Sorry about that. I didn't know..." You wave off her apologies as you start to dig again. You're going to make a straight line to the face.

Yoko starts to talk again after a minute. "So, you don't have any issues with me being a woman and fighting like this, right?

You pause your drilling for a moment, then resume. "Nah. People are people... my mom..." You stop. She was strong... but there's no time to think about her. You have work to do. You drill faster.

"Well, good. I'm probably the best shot in the whole village..." She stops short as you emerge into the room from before. You immediately set to work freeing the face.

It's a small Gunman-looking thing... but what color is it?

You look at the small form, only a little bigger than you overall, but shorter. Is is mostly black, but with blue trim and gray internals. There's a seat in the top, so you slide into it. Yoko climbs on and squeezes next to you. You're acutely aware of her... assets, pressing against your arm.

Suddenly, you feel a pulsing against your chest, and a soft green glow emanates from somewhere below you. You look down to see your drill trinket, lighting up. In addition, there's the same glow coming from the front of the tiny Gunman's face...

You see a small panel in front of you, with a tiny, spiral hole in the center.

Yoko leans close to your chest, looking at your drill. "Think it'll fit?" She asks, pointing at the hole in the panel.

You shrug and try to push her closeness away from your thoughts. It isn't hard, with her scent invading your space... like sweat, and metal, and electricity.

You pull the drill off of your neck and slot it into the hole carefully... it fits perfectly.

You gulp.

Exhale.

And twist.

There's a moment of nothing. Perfect stillness, perfect silence. You're about to take the drill out when... The robot shudders under you. You feel a rumble as something spins up...

And you're surrounded in a bright green light, flowing around and almost through you. You glance at the redhead next to you, and see her face is a mask of shock.

You can feel information flowing into you... and you grab hold of the handles in front of you.

There's a wall in front of you... several, in fact, between you and the enemy Gunman.

With this surge of power, you blast forward, tearing through rock and dirt like paper. You even manage to break through that boulder on top of the dead man you found... but you have a job to do. You arrive back in the chamber your village is located in and land, the surge of energy from the small robot's awakening spent.

Yoko looks over at you. "Can you get up high so I can get a good shot at it?"

The Gunman has noticed you, and is turning to bring its giant club to bear.

You feel a flash of fear as the Gunman looks down at you, but you stamp that down fast. No time, just gotta get Yoko to high ground. This thing had a rocket on its back... should be able to fly... but how do you activate it?

Yoko starts to panic in the seat next to you. "Come on, move! We've gotta get going or we're dead!" She smacks the edge of the robot for emphasis.

You grimace. "I'm trying, I'm trying! It won't move!" You glance around frantically, but aside from the drill on the front and the handles, there's not much else...

The Gunman roars as it swings its club at you...

Yoko groans. "Nice save, I guess... but now I can't shoot. How are we going to stop it now? There's no weapons on this thing!"

You frown. She's right. You need to do something.

You feel a slight irritation at Yoko's mention of weapons. You don't need a weapon! You're in a robot!

Green energy blasts from the feet of your ride, and you fly at the larger Gunman, fist leading the way.

There's a loud CLANG and you manage to break through one of the dented spots that Yoko left with her rifle. You try to pull your arm back... but you're stuck. With a yell, you grip your handles tighter and suddenly, the stuck arm spins, grinding up the internals and freeing your arm.

Yoko is stunned. "How did you do that?"

Your response is just as short. "I don't know. It just comes to me..."

The Gunman tries to turn to hit you off itself, but the club gets stuck in the wall, and you find yourself sliding down...

Listen to this please

You feel any resistance in your heart melt away, burning down to your boiling core. The green energy suffusing the cockpit flares brighter, and you reach down to the drill, shaking in the slot, and twist it again, as far as it goes.

The effect is immediate. You rocket up into the Gunman, lifting it off the ground, and carrying it with you, on the end of your fist. The Gunman screams, but you scream louder, and you begin to fly up through the hole it left when it collapsed through your life.

The golden light from above is blotted out as the Gunman fills the available space, but the green glow from under you is brighter than even the lights of your village. You feel a release inside you, and the light flares again. You're breaking through metal parts, plastic bits, and the odd splash of oil...

And you emerge, an endless expanse of sand below you and bluish... something above you. You see the last remnants of the Gunman falling away behind you. It's cold... but you feel exhilarated. Unbound.

Free.

"So, what's your name, kid?"

You jump, and look at the busty redhead next to you. She's looking at you in amusement.

"Oh... uh, Jace. Pleased to meet you!"

She smiles at you. "Well, I'm glad I fell into your pit. That was really amazing."

She glances over the side (when did the canopy go down?) and gasps. "Uh, Jace? Think you can stop us from pancaking into the ground now? We're falling."

Oh crap. Your stomach lurches into your throat and you drop like the stones you're so used to digging through.

"Uzumaki. It fits, I think." You look at Yoko warmly.

She returns the look, until her eyes drift upwards, and her face becomes a mask of shock and fear.

You spin around and look over your shoulder... and see two more Gunmen, looming above you.

"Uh, Yoko? Friends of yours?" You gulp.

"Nuh-uh."

"Friends of the other guy?"

"Uh-huh. All three of them were after me when we fell into Kozu Village."

Yoko: "Jace, huh? Surprising to see someone with that much fight in them straight out of a pit. Looks like he'd clean up nice if we got a few good meals in him. He's a little familiar though..."

Thank all of you for putting up with this! Next week we're back to DWMA Quest, and we'll either alternate or do Spiral Warrior once a month, haven't decided yet!

Anyways, any other people you guys want a chance to bang, here? Might as well give me all the ideas.

For real though, Scorpion Yakuza with the vagina dentata mecha is gonna be tough.

Unless your planning to throw in characters from different shows then I don't think there's any other girls apart from the mechanic

I mean

Probably not, there's a pretty great cast here already

But I thought I'd bring it up, just in case.

Anyways, you all are probably gonna latch on to ol' DeathLips over there, because she's first.

If you don't I'll be shocked.

This is during the canon of the show.

Only change is, Simon got crushed a few years ago. Jiha Village is still sealed shut. Kozu Village got exploded instead.

Lordgenome is on his throne, Dai Gunzan is chucking Gunmen across the continent, and so on.

I mean, you could always stay unattached until you find Lordgenomes Village of Waifus.

Is it worth it? Maybe?

Nah.
