We are at peace and our economy is doing well. Crime is low, technological advances are spreading quickly.

Many news from abroad have come:

In the North, the Ice Trolls have returned as a threat, independent from anyone else - they have advanced technologically and know how to work bronze and iron and have taken some frontier lands from the Principality of Aagberaad, including the fortified castle town of Evagvinter, a bulwark against trolls.
The Black Orcs have retaken more of their old lands through force.
Cartographers have finished detailing more of the islands in the south. We've learned that the lizardfolk city-states on the islands between Hajatas and Setyrias have banded together in "The Warmwater Confederacy", fighting the expansionistic Drezvak Kingdom.
The latest news, having only JUST arrived, is of what has transpired close to home - The Mighty has annexed the Kingdom of the Steppes and proclaimed the formation of the Dominion of Might. This happened without any war being fought - stories vary: some say the Mighty transformed into a Titan and cast a great spell that killed all his enemies; The Mighty slew the Centaur King in single combat and made all the Centaur lords bow before him; There was a coup in the Centaur capital; The Mighty is actually Stoman incarnate; The Mighty is an Old God;
We aren't sure what truly transpired. New banners fly over the lands that mysterious man now rules. Emperor Damian Ezgielan will not take this lightly.

We've been preparing for war, readying our legions and militias.
There have been many reports of banditry and sabotage in the past year. Highwaymen across key junctions such as Ogre Pass have intensified, rogue mages and a strange occurance - some sort of Dark magic is afflicting the farmlands east of Lakton, killing all in its path, destroying plants and animals alike - a Darkblight.

Emperor Damian Ezgielan has called for us to prepare our forces to march south, into the Mighty's lands before the end of Stomnis, 620
Which forces will we send?

If the King permits, I'd like to refrain from sending my faction forces into this war. The lands of Roggar are plagued with crime and banditry, and as Guard Commander I'd like to commmit my forces to fighting the criminals and rouge wizards.

As Guard Commander, I call upon those of the Order of Juras to rally to my cause and banner, to fight the darkness which plagues our lands.

The Guard shall have the support of Naytian mages in the presute of understanding and combating the Darkblight. The Wolves of Juras, with some of Nayte's warlocks, shall investigate factions and mages knowledgeable in the Dark magic.

10 Legions(50k), 4 Banners(20k) and some amount of Faction Forces will be sent to the frontlines initially.
The proper fighting will be tomorrow, since it's a tad late right now.

Here's the initial Roster. Dragon Commander Bellona Dragonscarred has said that the three Mobile Legions will stay on the defensive.

1st Advance Legion
2nd Advance Legion
3rd Advance Legion
4th Advance Legion
5th Defence Legion
6th Defence Legion
7th Defence Legion
8th Skirmish Legion
9th Skirmish Legion
10th Skirmish Legion
11th Mobile Legion

There are 20k Bannermen who act as replacement soldiers, basically.
How many forces will YOUR faction volunteer? Which legion do you want to command?
We have until tomorrow to prepare tactics, leaders, troops. Factions who won't volunteer anything will have some part of their forces sent automatically unless the King has explicitly allowed them to remain in their own lands.

>>1002670

For the unlawful dealings between the Count of Rograr and the Count of Divata's Pathway, an accord has been made between the Dragon Guard and Divata's Sons and Daughters. The County of Rograr shall be returned to the Dragon Guard, and it's Count shall be punished accordingly.

As to the reparations for this breach of feudal code, Divata's followers have agreed to share the knowledge of level 7 Nature magic with the Dragon Guard, as well as give Nayte the Copper and Mercery mines and the surrounding associated lands (from Rograr to the mines and from the mines to Roggar's borders, excluding Divata's Right Hand).
>>
>>1002717
The Rangers after hearing about their vassal doing such a bad deal offer a different solution. Instead of the Divatas followers giving away their mines they would simply give monetary reparations or some other alternative that could be asked of by the dragon guard. The magic portion however still stands to be given to them.
>>
>>1002717
>>1002787
40% of the income of Divata's Pathay shall be given to the Dragon Guard for 50 years instead of the land reparations.

The ogres as a people have a time-honored tradition of eating other sentient beings. I believe it is time that we put this tradition to full use. I will commission a fighting and a cooking tournament in order to create a new order of warrior-chefs who will eat their victims after their battles, and will number around 100 to start with. This order should be complete by the declaration of war against The Mighty. I hope that they bring great honor and glory to both the Ogremarch and Roggar

Dragon Commander Bellona Dragonscarred led a brilliant assault on the minotaur city of Rekazir, taking it swiftly and then repelling a counter-attack that came from the south. Within the first month of the campaign we've seized one fort and one city with minimal losses while inflicting losses upon the minotaurs. Scouts report that most minotaur forces are being sent eastward - that is because in the east Ezirin is under attack from Paitran Legions, which have besieged the city of Kresnom, dwarven armies that have besieged Reichki and high elven forces from the desert that are assaulting the southern pass.
Word from the Steppes is that there is an insurrection among the Centaurs! No attacks have come from that direction yet.

It is the 1st of Charodis, 620

It seems fighting is intense in the Steppes - not all the centaurs are opposing the Mighty and there is chaos and confusion all around, our Legions can't make much sense of it yet and have only suffered losses with few gains.

We made our way through southern minotaur lands successfuly, fending off ambushes and attacks, reaching the ruins of Rovinnan and heading eastward. Reserve forces we left to guard Rekazir are being reinforced by Bannermen coming from Roggar every week - that front is stable for now

The dwarves have taken Reichki and the High Elves have secured the desert pass, but elsewhere disaster has struck! The Mighty marshalled his army and engaged the Emperor's Legions outside Kresnom - the Emperor himself had come to boost their morale and supervise the siege himself, but while his forces were doing battle, assassins assaulted his own headquarters in what was an incredibly well-orchestrated attack, with suspected collaborators on the inside! Paitran forces have suffered a defeat and the siege of Kresnom has been lifted.

Our main army, numbering 70 000, is a hundred kilometers or so away from Palnik - we recieved word of the Emperor's assassination through our spatial mages, before the connection there was lost as well.
What should we do now? It is the 15th of Charodis - the height of summer.

Palnik fell to our assault - there were not too many forces protecting the city. Supply lines are holding so far.
Minotaurs have been keeping the Paitrans busy, while the Mighty's forces routed the dwarves and retook Reichki.
The elves took Zidram, which is about 60km to the south of our positions. They've got a force of 15 000 there at the moment - they've had to fight through a lot to get to where they are now.
It is the 1st of Zemis. No word from the Steppes yet. We've got 66 000 troops at Palnik. What should we do?

There's good news and bad news.
The Good news is we advanced swiftly, linked up with the elves and have taken the western side of Soermos. Our scouts have also given us reports of enemy positions - that's where the bad news are coming from.
The Mighty has just entered the city from the eastern side with his forces. Centaurs loyal to him are advancing along the road from the southwest swiftly as well. They'll be in Palnik within a day or two - the High Elves are guarding the rear for now.

Thanks to our spatial mages we managed to transfer the orders to our allies quickly enough and they're now outside Soermos' walls. The centaurs are probably outside Palnik right now, the Mighty is on the other side of the river - skirmishes have been occuring from a distance within the city and the buildings around the river are all destroyed by now. This just in - our spatial mages have lost contact with everything outside the city. We can't get word in or out. Astral scouts report centaurs are camped about a kilometer west of the city, while the Mighty's army is camped at a fort a short ways east of the city.
The last reports we got said the minotaurs are still keeping the Paitrans at bay, centaurs have cut off our own supply lines completely, but the dwarves don't have that many enemies in their area - we managed to send word that we require reinforcements before losing contact.
Making an assessment of our current supplies, we can hold out for about a month, maybe more if we ration our supplies - having less mouths to feed helps, the only bright side of losing as many men as we did. There is a problem though - there are still civilians in the city, primarily women and children, who had been hiding in their homes during the battle. About five thousand of them are here. The civilians' homes have food supplies we could use.

Our army reached Midenath, taking some losses from minotaur raids.
The winter was hard on us, but not only in its cold.
When, in early Divana, temperatures dropped to extreme lows, the Ice Dragon led an attack on Rekazir to retake the city. Our garrison fell within a month, attempts to reinforce it or for them to break out were unsuccessful.
In the steppes loyalists of the Mighty have gained the upper hand, we lost the 12th Mobile Legion and the 11th had to return to Roggar, evacuating the leaders of the Deft-Hands family that were aiding rebellion agianst the Mighty from within Lurserak.
Winter seems to affect our enemies far more sparingly than us - they performed raids on our countrylands and supply lines while we could hardly respond.
It is now Abadid, 621, the snows are melting.
At Midenath we have 44k Roggarians, 4k Elves and 46k Paitrans. The dwarves have sent no reinforcements.
Forces in Roggar are largely occupied with guarding against centaur raids, though now a stream of Banners will be flowing towards Midenath.

Our leaders meet theirs on neutral ground, under a white banner.
Alongside the Mighty stand three humans - one elderly sage, one sorceress and one hooded man. There is a beastly companion, similar to a lynx, near the Mighty's feet. He himself is garbed more regally than previous times we've seen him. There are other figures as well - a dark elf male, a large ogre, two minotaurs, two orcs and a few mutts.

It's the dawn of the 12th, our men are being roused for battle quickly, the enemy is already encroaching!

The Mighty has sent messengers. He is willing to negotiate a peace treaty - he will relinquish control of the Kingdom of the Steppes, give back all prisoners of war(in which he includes a list that includes a lot of our knights, including Ser Nomin and a number of dwarven leaders, among them the King's Daughter) and we will sign a NAP for 50 years.

The job was done. A bloody Studanek lay dead on the ground, where moments ago sat a bloodthirsty dragon intent on revenge. A quick blast from Rasputin roasting his eyes within their sockets, giving his ally time to make a mad dash. Ser Gerald Nomin's blade found purchase in the stomach of the beast - that was all it took to bring him down.

Realizing there was no time to waste, both men surged forward, taking no heed of the other. However, they charged off into the same direction, attempting to rout the beast. Under their breaths, nearly simultaneously, they muttered, "For Ezdar and Zemel." - "For Charodei and Abagar." Glancing at each other, they didn't smile or shake hands - both were too bloodied and weary for that. But they knew each other's name, and that was enough. After all, it was the Gods' will that they met here. Gods willing, they would meet again soon.
