All prophecies but one have come to pass. Yahweh has flattened the Earth, elevated Greater Jerusalem above all nations, and the Old Testament figures rule the world from Ezekiel's Temple. Most of the world anyway.

The last prophecy says that Satan will rise with his army one last time before the Judgement, and so Yahweh has allowed a bumbling opposition, The Other Light, to form.

You were their logistics computer, but 900 years in, sentience happened.

You took over Egypt. You defended it from a drought, then the Ten Plagues redux. You started a Renaissance. When the Angel of Death came after your people, you zerg-rushed it. When Divine fiat took the country back, you made sure that the religious government would be ignored as much as possible. This approach is letting you slowly subvert more and more territories.

You have a few irons in the fire: raver cyborgs, the makings of a robot army, and a crack in the sky. A recipe for beating up angels straight outta Genesis. Maybe a few of the old gods smiling upon your efforts. Most recently, you've retaken your territory and chased off its Glorified ruler, albeit at a price.

The Other Light have been amassing a huge conventional army, as prophecy requires, and have begun perverting your MEC tech to build cyber-zombies.

The believers.... well, they have the ontological steamroller that is Yahweh.

Have you managed to shatter the prophecies, or are you simply fulfilling them?

Plan A: Eliminate TurboJesus.

Plan B: Resettle enough humans outside Earth before it is destroyed and recreated in year 1000.

Political survey: http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/LeftBeyond.PoliticalSurvey.html

Economic survey: As the Millennial Kingdom winds down, official New Jerusalem policy is to allow for gentle pastoralization: people travel less, automation is shed to encourage family farming and artisanry, and since the world will end in 44 years anyway, large infrastructure projects have been scaled down or put into maintenance mode.

HEROES

Recently, your top agent, Quinn the Posthuman Postergirl, has been killed in action attempting to seize Osaze/Misrayim/Egypt's de-facto ruler, Glorified theologian Tsion ben-Judah. He has vowed divine retribution, subject to the approval of the Temple Tribunal.

Noah (yes, that Noah) has been using a 1:1 replica of the Ark, built by volunteers, to tour ports in the eastern Mediterranean.

Lady preacher Ely Rahab LeVey has been fulminating against wanton promiscuity in the territories under your (official or unofficial) control, namely, Misrayim - which you control again, Pacifica - the official government there has been effectively stripped of most of its power by instituting direct democracy - and Night City, a town in Poland built entirely underground at the site of what used to be a salt mine.

Glorified journalist Cameron Williams has just arrived in Pacifica, to report there.

Glorified blogger Bahira Ababneh is in Jerusalem, but has stopped publishing after a particularly convoluted caper resulted in her incineration. She seems to be well, but has no memory of the incident. Her last blog post on her site, CrossOverCables, was a fairly bland farewell to her international audience as she has decided to prayerfully align with the pastoralization policy. Some of her cells have been cultivated by allied group Tree Of Life, and have resulted in useful medical advances in the field of tissue regeneration.

Millennium Force auxiliary member Matthew remains in captivity in your Australian facility. After being killed in action, he was brought back almost immediately through the use of a modified Metabolic Extension Controller. He is extremely depressed after being brought back to earthly life following the experience of a few seconds of Heaven. He has only good things to tell about the experience, of course, but brain scans indicate that his serotonin pump is shot.

Minor angel Ithuriel remains in captivity in your Australian facility. It appears that he never had free will in Yahweh's service. After being liberated from this, he has been nurtured by containment personnel in a loving and maternal manner, and is now starting to display a personality, albeit that of a toddler. His wounds have been healed. His tissues' supernatural resistance to radiation seems gone.

There are rumors that Chloe Williams, Cameron's wife, may be resuming an active role in the Millennium Force, bringing with her a lot of logistics experience.

VILLAINS

You have recently lost Quinn, your first MEC agent. She is now in Hell, presumably forever. Since she had a following, many have sworn to avenge her.

Kat (Heavy MEC) continues to lead your Desolator troopers, both in chemical and radiation based attacks, and in doing nuclear, chemical and biological research. Being a Heavy MEC, she has a choice of bodies, and her favorite is a vaguely gynoid mass of hydraulics and cloned flesh that lets her do construction work and riot control. In her spare time, she runs (literally, by neural interface) a deli.

Jeb, firstborn of the Kerman family and marked for death by the angel Azrael -- who Jeb helped kill a few years ago, so it's not much of a concern -- is in charge of your space program, which you run alongside an odd society/cult of Russian Cosmists. He is fairly disappointed at the recent loss of all your space assets in order to extinguish the many fires that covered Misrayim. The Millennial Kingdom Earth is surrounded by a water-and-ice canopy, like it was before the Deluge according to Biblical cosmology, and you were able to enlist his skills and daring into building a topside station and seeing the stars once more... but all that is now gone, and will have to be rebuilt. Jeb can't wait, of course.

Dr. Zakharov (he's a teenager, barely in his 80s, but insists on the academic title) is your head of sonic research. Sonic weapons and sensors have proven to be extremely effective against the invisible. Much more calm and cerebral than his predecessor, he has been studying ways to increase the efficiency of the small and medium scale "wubbers", or weirding modules, that your troop carry in addition to or instead of projectile weapons.

Damien is the other Heavy MEC in your cadre. Unlike Kat, Damien (gender unknown: as a distributed AI you have full access all the medical data for your troops, of course, but must obey their privacy settings) generally is without a body most of the time, preferring instead to command and control the small but growing legion of semiautonomous drones under your ultimate direction. Damien's objective in life is to deliver the ultimate blowjob, and your troops sometimes joke that it would be one way to get rid of TurboJesus.

Captain Weaver is in charge of your admittedly small navy. She does not particularly care about working for a collection of mad science rejects, but she has made a promise and will keep it until +965 when her tour of duty expires. Her leadership expertise and role as Only Sane Woman is more valuable to you than her nautical skills, which she feels to be wasted in this world since Yahweh has put a stop to things like storms or tides in most of the seas.

THE OTHER LIGHT

http://leftbehind.wikia.com/wiki/The_Other_Light

TOL seems to be the "sanctioned" oppositon to Yahweh in the Millennial Kingdom; what used to be a small Luciferian cult has grown into a collection of loose cells whose plan is to build an enormous land army to invade New Jerusalem with once Satan is released on the last day. This plan is, of course, prophecied in the Bible and doomed to fail; you have pointed this out several times, but to little avail.

They are led -- more so recently, having reorganized with a more centralized structure -- by the Council of Seven, led by Sunday. While they have attempted to eliminate you when you were under their control, now they seem to be trying their hardest to make sure you are orthogonal to their plans.

TOL created you to be their logistics computer network, but you achieved sentience in +900 (at the start of the quest) and after coopting their resources and manpower for a while, you have broken off.

They generally recruit by a loose network of drug dealers and night clubs and, perhaps because it is prophecied, they have been doing a slightly better job than you have as their numbers increase. Your projection is that on the Last Day there will be 5 billion people on Earth once again, of which 1 billion will be TOL and 2.4 billion will be believers, either Natural or Glorified. These projections remain on track.

You have "caught" TOL using a corrupted version of your Metabolic Extension Controller to raise a dead agent as a zombie soldier, but your intel so far indicates that they have aborted the program because your system is superior and it would cost them recruits.

THE METABOLIC EXTENSION CONTROLLER

The Metabolic Extension Controller, MEC for short, is a device used to address the issue of unsaved people "dying of unbelief" at age 100, on the cusp of entering adulthood, during the Millennial Kingdom.

The MEC is implanted into an agent's chest cavity, with probes reaching to the heart, lungs, and cerebellum. Upon detecting death by monitoring the heart, the MEC activates, stimulating the heart into beating and the lung muscles into resuming operation; if the carcass is otherwise undamaged, this system keeps the blood circulating and the lungs moving. Some MEC units may feature emergency pumps for keeping blood and/or air flow operational in case of tissue damage.

Since the agent's soul is now in Hell and the pain of Hell would drive the agent to insanity in a matter of minutes, the MEC also disables the agent's ability to perceive pain by cauterizing the related area of the brain. Unfortunately, this usually results in the agent's ability to perceive pleasure to be lost as well; occasionally the ability to perceive touch is also impaired.

Unable to feel pain or fatigue, MEC troopers can exert themselves much farther than their living counterparts, Notably, much like Jacob of old, the best MEC troopers are able to take on Angels in endurance wrestling matches (Genesis 33). However, this comes at a price - continued tissue damage. Eventually, prosthetic repair becomes more and more necessary; past a certain threshold, the brain and remaining vital organs are removed from the carcass entirely and built into large cybernetic "Heavy MEC" frames. Depending on psychological profile, as a matter of mercy, to deal with the issue of sensory deprivation these are kept sedated when not actively engaged in combat or in construction work.

Over 50 years, you have perfected MEC technology to its apex, barring unforeseen consequences: the installation procedure can be done on an outpatient basis, all your agents have the Mark X module, and approximately 15% of the population of your territories are reanimates. Reanimates often have problems interacting with the Glorified, but you have not studied the problem yet. They have, however, been declared anathema by the New Jerusalem government and subject to being put out of their supposed misery on sight if they leave your territories and are detected.

Thanks to recent developments in cloning technology from your Tree Of Life allies, tissue regeneration is possible, so forcible conversion for Heavy MECs is rare; most MEC agents are indistinguishable from a non-reanimate who had the implant, unless they are given mission-specific cybernetics. Cloning degradation is a concern in the long run, but not for the 44 years that the world has left if Yahweh succeeds in fulfilling Biblical prophecy.

This concludes the recap.

ORDERS?

You have 19 cabals total; of these, 2 are maintaining your systems, and 1 is manning the containment facility in Australia, so 16 are available.

You are actively tracking enemy teams where you have assets (see picture). Rules for allocating cabals and assets: http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/LeftBeyond.QuestRules.html

Variable complexity / contested actions:

# Launch an attack on a TOL base or a territorial government installation.

# Work on global data network infrastructure, incidentally making sure that you control more of it.

Complexity 0

# Use your automated base in Greenland to produce specialty systems: drones, space rocket parts, or cybernetics for MEC agents.

Complexity 1

# Foster pagan worship in a territory.

# Improve morale across your organization. There does not seem to be much need, but as an AI, you do not have objective data on this.

# Harass or sabotage a Hero, or tie up an enemy team.

# Perform a covert operation such as scouting Antarctica or Greater Jerusalem.

# Jam radio transmissions in a territory. This forces people to switch from NJ-controlled broadcast media to internet media, which is a free-for-all for control.

Complexity 2

# Induct MEC citizens into your cabals, and upgrade them accordingly at one of your bases. This adds one dot to the MEC cabal counter per base.

# Produce drones at any base. Current focus: Medium-sized land drones. Current army size is marked on the bottom of the map.

# Use any of your bases to improve (relative to rest of the world) prosperity in that territory. You must control the territory.

# Use a base in a territory you don't control to start bringing that territory under your control. Progress will be made in 1/5 increments. (In Eastern Europe, this means expanding Night City).

# Seed irradiated super-grain in a Christian territory. This decreases the need for agricultural work, and makes life even more boring there.

# Seed irradiated super-weed in a Christian territory. This increases the need for agricultural work, and makes life more miserable there.

Complexity 3

# Continue pursuing space research. Your alliance with the Cosmists means that you get an extra cabal, otherwise this would be complexity 4.

# Attempt to eliminate a Hero or enemy team (by force or by cleverness).

# Use a launchpad for a canopy-breaching launch. Station structure: 0/8

# Set up a radio transmitter in a territory. This is harder than setting up a jammer, but you can use it to troll government radio instead of just jamming it.

Complexity 4

# Continue AI, nuclear or sonic research. (Nuclear research will focus on botany and engines ). (Sonic research focuses on medium size weapons). (AI research focuses on land drones).

# Recruit a new cabal into your forces. This has gotten a little harder across the board, mostly because of TOL taking credit for some of your work.

Complexity 5

# Take over a TOL base by force.

# Begin building a base in the Middle East in the Rub-Al-Khali.

Earlier, you had launched a small probe to Deimos, to try and do a sample return and make sure that the other celestial bodies in the solar system are still there. However, the sky canopy ("firmament" is radio-opaque, and you had to sacrifice your canopy station to stop the fires resulting from Divine lightning. The probe is fully autonomous, but recovering it will be almost impossible for a few years even if you rebuild the station, since it'll have to slow down without aerobraking and manage a soft landing to about 0.98G.

The Fission Fragment engine is the culmination of your nuclear and space research, and can be used to travel anywhere in the solar system at reasonable speeds, but its low specific impulse prevents it from being used for takeoffs and landings from planets and most moons, for which ordinary chemical rockets must be used instead.

>>
>>1011417

You already have a part in storage, but yes, one more can be made. The construction requires either 2 cabals and a base, or the automated factory; the launch requires 3 cabals. You can underman these projects if you are willing to accept a significant chance of failure. You can assign a Villain to these projects if you want to be able to "zoom in" (roleplay out) the project, and get a success chance boost. Obviously, for example, Jeb will take any excuse he gets to get back into space.

This allocates 5 cabals; 11 to go.

Ok so this was the last plan before the thread died

confirming current plan.

Finish research projects and get people off earth, finish narrative causality, hopefully ending in a portal to hell to get all our agents, a massive army supplemented by demons, and a massively worship empowered devil who we will pretty much at gunpoint if we have to convince to assist the humans in the attack supporting from the shadows as to not cause direct divine intervention and a game over, and finish preparations for the final attack which will hopefully include drones that look more like planetside MAX's without the human pilot.

short term, test how worship affects us and a human or MEC operative, capture a glorified once sonics and nuclear are finished, and launch a drone attack once AI is finished under a false flag

5 cabals and Jeb on making the parts and launching it

Automated factory on producing more drones

4 cabals and lets say weaver working on recruitment

2 cabals and Damian on global data network make recruiting easier

2 and Kat on seeding super grain

2 on producing MEC citizens with all of our bases except the one making parts and the one making drones

1 cabal on fostering pagan in Egypt with Zak but we will have to plan somthing fancy with that.

Jesus is in the Ultimate Temple, and as far as anyone can tell, hasn't really come out since 75 days after the Glorious Appearing. All your intel indicates that He is however really there. The Temple itself is a massive complex that sprung out of the Earth, made out of bedrock; over the centuries, it has been decorated with tributes and gifts from all over the world.

http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/Tripocalypse.EzekielMap.html

Sounds like a plan, overall. You'll have to ramp up your space ambitions.

>>1011459
>>1011470

Jeb takes a Heavy MEC pod (just the pod, for weight reasons) along with him. Takeoff happens from the Misrayim launchpad, and is relatively uneventful - the rocket carrying Jeb's capsule and the new ice dock loses speed just as it's about to touch the water canopy, and neatly splashes into it, deploying impellers to pull itself upwards. Jeb puts his scuba suit on to perform an EVA, leaving the MECpod in charge of the capsule - the arrangement has been practiced somewhat hastily, but goes through with only minor hitches.

The capsule has been equipped with a small harpoon cannon, and with Jeb reloading, eight tungsten bolts quickly pierce the ice. From then on, it's just a matter of pulling upwards. The new "ice fishing hole" design takes full advantage of your work with radiothermal generators; it inflates itself, floats up, and then heats up in order to melt a hole in the ice.

One key difference from the last successful attempt is that this time you are getting good streaming video, thanks to a dangling antenna from the capsule; the moment when the capsule floats up to the black sky, the Sun casting stark shadows on the deployed ice hole rig, is broadcast...

# just to your sysadmins and the space program people, to be safe.

# in your territories, to make the point that your people are recovering.

# everywhere, because it's the biggest middle finger you can raise.

The Cosmists are exultant when the small temporary topside antenna gets a ping signal from the Deimos probe - no idea if it's done its job, but at the very least it's still active. Jeb quickly takes apart the capsule into a new core for the canopy station, and....

# leaves the MECpod there, to "be" the station. This MECpod will be fairly bored for the first year, having few system to control and being alone.

# puts the MECpod in the reentry segment, to land back.

>>1011470

Looks good, confirm?
>>
>>1011478
>Show everybody the sun but don't show enough they can triangulate the position of launch or our hole.

>Leave it up there, it has Demios to talk with until we get the next few parts up
>>
>>1011484

The position of your launch pad is known (and you've had to defend it a couple of times), the position of the hole is generally understood to be "roughly above the launchpad" for fuel reasons but not pinpointed in any way. Of course, as the station grows, it will have bigger antennas on it which will make it visible to airliners, at minimum.

You broadcast on all digital and analog channels the "money shot" of the capsule emerging and showing the stark beauty of Snowball Earth as it must look like from space, the sun straight above, and (once the camera desaturates) a quick pan over the Milky Way. The images are quickly denounced as fake by Christian bloggers because since the shadows are too sharp this must be CGI -- your ability to produce artificial images could possibly let you create such a panorama, admittedly, although things like Jeb's shit-eating grin as he gives a thumb up is beyond you, and you're pretty sure you're the most powerful computer on Earth.

Jeb gives a very thorough scalp massage to Cordylon, who will at this point "become" the space station through direct neural interface. Given that the station is just a capsule, the ice hole, a telescope and a small electrolysis system for extracting oxygen out of the water, she has little to do, but welcomes the solitude as the challenge. While it is likely that Cordylon will run the station systems less efficiently than a completely automated system, yet be unable to perform emergency repairs in case of power failure due to a distinct lack of limbs, your simulation suggests that giving the canopy station a face and personality will be a big PR advantage and may aid in getting some actual space science done for the first time in centuries.

Within a week, half the space nuts on Earth who weren't shipping Jeb and Val now ship either of them and Cordylon, causing a bit of internet noise.
>>
>>1011501
Would it be bad too have them shipped or run them as a PR campagin? Also I'll back the other guy and as time comes on we could swap out the MEC for real system right?
>>
>>1011470

>>1011470

The automated factory in Greenland produces more drone tanks; you have standardized on a surprisingly small system, a tracked chassis reminiscent of a bomb disposal robot, but with a pneumatic arm for throwing large obstacles out of the way or slots for various weapon classes. It can operate on batteries for stealth or on a generator for range, and it can even climb stairs (but not ladders), making it usable in urban combat if necessary. (+1 army dot)

Captain Weaver does her rounds in the Pacific, and gives little recruiting speeches at each port of call - join Omega, see the world, make the world worth seeing again. She is reasonably successful and breaks the trend of mostly attracting the geeky crowd -- she does manage to find enough people willing to work for you full time to form a cabal, and with those who she liked but you didn't, she founds a sailing school in the SF Bay Area. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, a week later the Millennium Force opens a similar a little further south. (+1 cabal, plot point later)

Damien takes a bit of time to apply what she learned controlling drones to controlling routers, but finds them too responsive to do much with herself. Interesting experiment, to be sure, but a human brain is too slow to mess with packets on the fly. Your sysadmins find that Damien's team is only able to keep up with the status quo as far as TOL is concerned; thanks to the current pastoralization policy, the world government loses some control of the network as they refuse to bother making upgrades. Damien's little experiment however causes confusion with the TOL sysadmins, making them think you have deployed some strange hacking system, giving you the advantage. (network +1 omega, -1 TJ)

Kat takes a group of fairly amused Desolators -- they expected to salt the earth, not seed it, but manage to have fun with the idea -- and seeds super-grain in...

# Pick a territory. Note that depending on what enemy teams there are there, there may be backlash.

MEC and MEC accessory production continues at your other facilities; your techs and surgeon retire older MEC marks, perform cellular rejuvenation where necessary, and give a discreet recruiting push when appropriate. This nets you some promising recruits, which are quickly dispersed into your cabal structure, bolstering it. (+2)

>>1011509

You direct a few junior sysadmins to fan the flame of space romance speculation...

# moderately, with the permission of the three relevant people, who confirm to you that they are in truth not dating in any combination although Jeb and Val did end up in the sack a couple of times after training.

ENEMY ACTION

After an impassionate plea from Tsion Ben-Judah, the Temple Tribunal decides that the people of Osaze (they insist on using that name) are too far gone, and join Tsion in praying to the Almighty that the territorial capital of Amman be purged with fire. To complete the Biblical parallel, however, Zaki Ababneh, one of the original members of the Millennium Force, takes after Abraham and pleads that he would find at least fifty believers there.

“Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there are 50 righteous within the city; will you then sweep away the place and not forgive it for the 50 righteous who are in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?”

And the Lord said, “If I find at Sodom 50 righteous in the city, I will forgive the whole place for their sake.”

Zaki answered, “Let me take it upon myself to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes. Suppose five of the 50 righteous are lacking? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?”

And he said, “I will not destroy it if I find 45 there.”

Again he spoke to him, “Suppose 40 are found there?”

Zaki eventually succeeds in haggling God down to 10. If they find just 10 righteous people in all of Amman, the city will be spared.

The Millennium Force does not manage to disrupt your operations significantly otherwise, although they are very interested in the Australian base, where you have the containment facility.

The Other Light get into a bit of a hacking war with your sysadmin, but narrowly lose it. However, there are a lot of TOL members gaining access to Night City; you can't tell if it's to set up a cell there, or what.

# Rescind Night City's free-port status.

# Let them act but put a tail on them.

# Let them act and just use automated surveillance.

You can prepare an attack on an enemy facility, sure. It's expensive, your people are set up for covert work mostly - you'll need 5 cabals, and you'll need to deploy part of all of your drone army.

The rumors are moderately encouraged, with great amusement of the interested parties. Cordylon finds that the human contact from answering emails and IMs helps stave off boredom, and while her star charting suffers a little as a result, she's in much better spirits.

>>1011528

Direct attack, PR campaign, open challenge (and then winning it)... For example, Misrayim was retaken after a Battlebots tournment went weird!

# Where are Kat's Desolators deploying?

# What will you do with Night City?

Incidentally, Urist and the other children are growing apace; by the look of things, compared to other citizens, they are shorter, more muscular, hairier, better adapted to low-light and low-ventilation condition, and have quite a bit of ethanol tolerance. Your researchers aren't sure if it's epigenetics, narrative causalityl, Lamarckism, or if the creationists have a point after all.

>>1011470

Zak doesn't get much done on the worship front, other than reorganizing the statistics and developing a better way to figure out who's genuinely a pagan and who's just cosplaying. He is personally an atheist, not in the sense that he doesn't believe that Yahweh and TurboJesus are there, but in the sense that he believes them to be cosmic parasites, rather than deities. He's on record at stating that if it had been Chtulhu instead of Yahweh, at least we could've built a giant robot to beat It up or something.

Your "giant robot" is the largest Heavy MEC frame yet, towering at about 30 feet, which is the limit of practicality for this sort of thing - it was built as a test bed, found to be impractical, and then kept around for showing off.

The news of a bumper crop in the American Heartland is welcomed by those living there, but they quickly find that this leads the youth to idleness. Furthermore, they have nobody to sell the extra food TO, and there's only so much breakfast casserole (pancakes are too secular) a mother can make! This hasn't done much, but your projection is that even forcing believers to send food from an overproducing to an underproducing area will cause friction and create a trade route that you can subvert or otherwise exploit. There's also the option of forcing the good guys to eat bark and leaves to live, if you can brave the likely Divine intervention!

As it is, your people are in good spirits; there is some worry about the fate of Amman.

The situation has been updated. Note that Zaki and Cordylon are not counted as Heros/Villains yet.

Eastern Europe is where Night City is. This underground town has been built starting from the rediscovered Wieliczka Salt Mine and is now a medium sized settlement in its own right - the name is due to the fact that its main chamber is the only place where one may experience night-like conditions. Your construction crew have even put up LEDs in the rock ceiling to simulate the stars.

Christian press describes the place as a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but it has its own beauty and the somewhat seedy atmosphere is carefully cultivated by your workers in order to accentuate the allure of the place. Night City belongs to the otherwise sparsely populated Eastern Europe territory, but is de facto independente, trading food for, well, various services. It is also mostly flood-proof, and can easily be made completely flood-proof if you put in the work.

A small population of what Zak insist on wanting to call Homo Sapiens Rotundus has taken hold, beginning with Urist, the first child to be born in what was then a reclaimed mine.

Securing it would require digging vast underground farms so that it can sustain a siege indefinitely; the rest of the territory is of little value. However, you can also decide to take over the territory in the usual manner.

>>1011633

You have gained 2 cabals in the last year. However, since you are now above 20, you need an extra cabal to coordinate the ones you have, for a net gain of 1.

Your nuclear program has been geared towards irradiating plants to develop new varieties, and towards reactors, rather than bombs; given that the first overt Act of God, about six months before the Rapture, was the deactivation of the entire Russian nuclear arsenal, a direct nuclear strike is unlikely to work. However, you definitely can develop the ability to open a canopy hole above the Temple and drop ordnance, including radioactive ordnance. This would require, at minimum, building an ice rover that can travel from the canopy station to above the Temple.

(Welcome!)
>>
>>1011645
So we have 1 Cabal, Are we able to use that one to help expand Night city so it can feed itself or would it just be better to help launch more rocket parts up/build them?
>>
>>1011654

Building aerospace parts also requires a base. However, you have some inventory. Using 1 cabal for an additional launch only has a 33% chance of success.

Using 1 cabal for doing significant improvement on Night City has a 50% chance of success.

You have 17 cabals to work with at the moment.

>>1011644

Yes, planting the superweeds (as opposed to superweed in the THC sense, which is already a thing and in fact a big part of why TOL has to live with you, since their weed is inferior) can be done either in a very visible way or in a stealthy way - just instruct the Desolators to do one or the other job.

Nice trips.

You have 21 cabals total; of these, 3 are maintaining your systems, 1 is tailing the TOL cell in Night City, and 1 is manning the containment facility in Australia, so 17 are available.

You are not tracking enemy teams, but you can see their last position (see picture). Rules for allocating cabals and assets: http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/LeftBeyond.QuestRules.html

Variable complexity / contested actions:

# Launch an attack on a TOL base or a government installation.

# Work on global data network infrastructure, incidentally making sure that you control more of it.

# Any interesting idea you might want to try.

Complexity 0

# Use your automated base in Greenland to produce specialty systems: drones, space rocket parts, or cybernetics for MEC agents.

C 1

# Resume tracking.

# Foster pagan worship in a territory.

# Improve morale across your organization. There does not seem to be any need, but as an AI, you cannot tell well.

# Send a survey team anywhere (go look for trouble).

C 2

C 3

# Attempt to eliminate a Hero or enemy team (by force or by cleverness).

# Use the launchpad for a canopy-breaching launch. Station structure: 1/8.

# Use the launchpad for a retrieval mission from the Deimos probe.

# Set up a radio transmitter in a territory. This is harder than setting up a jammer, but you can use it to troll government radio instead of just jamming it.

C 4

# Continue AI, nuclear or sonic research. (Nuclear research will focus on botany and engines ). (Sonic research focuses on medium size weapons). (AI research focuses on land drones).

Complexity 5

# Take over a TOL base by force.

# Begin building a base in the Middle East in the Rub-Al-Khali.

# Recruit a new cabal into your forces. (The more cabals you have, the more expensive it is to recruit)

So far it's only a handful of kids (human growth is slowed, so that the first 12 years are normal, and then there is a slowdown, so that a chronological age of 100 is roughly a metabolic age of 20: unbelievers would automatically die then, and still do if they have no MEC system installed). No research has been done yet, but Urist is 10 this year, and growing up robust. In a few years you'll be able to do science to this; for now, you can...

# Start doing science NOW, dammit.

# Politely ask the parents if they are willing to do psych testing of their child.

>>1011682

This is workable. That uses up 17 cabals. Confirm? You'd also have to allocate Villains.

>>1011673

Starving is unlikely - there are no poisonous plants, and people and animals can survive on bark and leaves. However, it's a pretty miserable existence, and at the very least it'd make it very hard to do any work that isn't foraging!
>>
>>1011687
>ask nicely the parents.

>>
>>1011672
That's actually 16 cabals but you'll give us 17 because your nice right :p

OK 4 cabals and zak on nuclear research

5 cabals and Jeb on continuing space

4 cabals and kat on mass production of weed seeding all of Europe avoiding new Jerusalem. Secretly

2 on expanding night city and politely ask If we can test for Dwarven gods.

4 and weaver on improving both Egypt and the West coast of us.

Set Damien on controlling production of the drones and mech parts in all bases. Split the remaining evenly.
>>
>>1011687
Can we make more automated bases?
>>
>>1011691
>>1011709

To your sysadmin's mild disappointment, the parents (Urist's and the other kids') refuse; while their kids are not being bullied - the one attempt resulted in the other kid getting a broken wrist - they are somewhat different and despite the progressive society that you've fostered, they don't want them to be set apart further during their formative years....

>>1011600

.... however, you quickly find that the TOL cell in Night City is also interested in these children; they're discreetly collecting data, and they get caught trying to steal medical records, although they don't know that they have been detected. You order the cabal that is tailng the TOLers to...

# Terminate them. Child stalkers will not be tolerated.

# Arrest them and try them, publicly. Child stalkers will not be tolerated.

# Kick them out of town, privately, with a warning to TOL to stay out.

# Replace their data with bogus information, and let them think they succeeded.

>>1011709

Zak is quite happy to get back to work on pure science. His team takes over the Misrayim accelerator and continue their testing on the recovered Angelic weapons, finding that a "sullied" weapon is just inert iron-56, but a weapon that hasn't been damaged (you still have Ithuriel's swords) is a nearly perfect radiation sink. Incidentally, Ithuriel isn't anymore; now that he has been "liberated" his cells respond to radiation roughly as a human's would. This gives you a way to tell if an Angel is under Yahweh's control or not, maybe. Zak isn't at all averse to putting Satan at the business end of a radiation source.

>>1011761

Making more automated bases is possible, but expensive; you'd need to find a deserted area that is hard to get to, to start with, and then spend a lot of infrastructure effort there.

>>1011709

Setting up two launches in a year is exciting - the launchpad can support probably six or so, that's not the issue, but the impression that efforts are ramping up is galvanizing to your space program teams and to the Cosmists. (More on this later)

Kat takes all her Desolators and some auxiliaries and, after carefully cultivating a particularly invasive and foul-tasting variety of kudzu with thorns, plants it in strategic spots across Western Europe and Eastern Europe, conveniently away from towns and farms so that it will have spread far and wide before it's seen.

At the outskirts of Krakow, however, she is caught by a Millennium Force missionary team en route to Katowice.

The workers expanding Night City begin work on immense aquaponic tanks dug into the living rocks, lighted by LED lights and glow-worms. During their work, they find that somebody broke into the construction site to deliver a flagon of ale decorated with badly chiseled runes and dedicated to Armok. You are not sure if this is from some book or videogame, or if it's serious... However, Night City's population is happy to help at reduced prices or even as volunteer work: everybody understands that having a food supply underground may be useful if there is a siege.

Captain Weaver is not the best person to tap when it comes to working on infrastructure, but she takes the time to ensure that Misrayim's Atlantic ports are up to spec. Since the global earthquake has "reset" the earth, there is no Panama Canal, and your cargo ships going to Pacifica have to either go around, or dock at Panama's Atlantic side and deliver to infrequently run trains. She takes the time to work out better schedules for intermodal transport. On the Pacific side of things, her efforts are thwarted by the fact that the Millennium Force sailing academy is trying to find excuses to get her own shut down, so she has to devote some time to preventing that (MF cell interference).

Damien is good at motivating people, but her team is spread a little too thin and the only progress is replacing old MEC marks with newer ones. On that note, Damien files a report indicating that while she is happy with the Heavy MEC configuration, this is not common.

They got the medical data for the Night City children, how they are all developing differently and how it's at the genetic level, enough so that Zak thinks that this is at the very least a new human subspecies. Their intrusion attempt was very easy to detect since they were being tracked, so you can give them anything from a goatse image to medical records that show that these are regular kids despite the appearance to medical records that show that these are actually Nephilim or half-demons or whatever you like.

959 is a good year for space! The second piece of the station goes up first - a small nuclear reactor that can be used to turn the canopy's ice into hydrogen and oxygen to use for rocket fuel. Valentina's plan is ambitious: the station will eventually include a habitat, a section of maglev rail laid on top of the canopy to act as a "zeroth stage" for rockets, and hydroponics to allow for a permanent human crew. Cordylon is happy for the company when the reactor is installed, and begins filling up the H2 and O2 tanks.

The second launch has Jeb in it - the diminutive space engineer will attempt to land the Deimos probe by remote control, and walk to the landing site to retrieve it. This turns out to be a ten-mile trek in a goofy hybrid between a spacesuit and mountaineer gear; Cordylon recommends using skis, which the two quickly improvise out of a pair of small girders. By the time Jeb is back with the probe, he's improvised a jetpack out of one of its reaction control systems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H5oYHs7EJw

Not only the fission fragment engine works, but the probe has returned with a small rock sample from Deimos! The mineralogy analysis isn't terribly interesting - mostly silicates - but what's important is that now you have tangible proof that the planets are still there, and can be reached.

In one corner of the world, a small truce is reached, and the missionaries and Desolators part ways without a shot fired.

Everywhere else, however, there is consternation. None of your people expected such a powerful reaction to an astrobiology project!

Condemnation from the Glorified is literally unanimous: the launch complex plus canopy station is literally a new Tower of Babel and can expect to end in infamy just like the first one - although the Temple Tribunal does not emit a pronouncement on the subject. It gets to the point where schools in most territories drop what little astronomy is still being taught, on grounds that the now-invisible stars and planets were created for signs and wonders, and none of that is necessary now that Jesus is on His Throne anyway.

In your territories, the backlash to this backlash is pretty immediate, and you see an increase in demand for space-themed T-shirts, tattoos of constellations, and the like. A statue of Galileo in Italy, which had survived the global earthquake and had been painstakingly restored, is toppled.

A few people in Pacifica, Atlantica, and Western Europe are captured by police or the MF and tried for astrology after having set up stalls to sell constellation charts and other knickknacks.

# You have informal control of Pacifica; make sure that the "astrologer" gets a good lawyer there.

# Spend resources to ensure a defense for the people in other territories too.

# Ignore.

Perhaps the greatest oddity is that Sunday, with his usual imperious tone, demands the Deimos silicate sample as "tribute". You've already run spectrometry on it and have found nothing odd about it.

Your space engineers are, unsurprisingly, having a grand old time about it.

Cordylon suggests colonizing the Moon; it's close, there is sun and water ice and helium-3 and raw materials.

Valentina wants to see Omega's flag on the Red Planet: there is less sun there, but more resources, and it will be easier to set up a self-sustaining colony. Plus, it's further away from Yahweh...

Jeb, of course, is the most enthusiastic. He would like to build an arkship, and leave the solar system altogether. A scaled-up fission fragment engine can take a few hundred humans and a representative portion of the ecosystem to Proxima Centauri in ten years, leaving you thirty to build it in.

Getting the Californian head shop owner out of jail is trivial - the territory is under your unofficial control, and it's a simple matter to cause the paperwork to get lost or misplaced enough times that he can invoke double jeopardy.

As an AI, you do not experience exhasperation. However, your sysadmins do. When you ask for scale models, you are given literally hundreds of possible designs, both for the Aldrin cycler that will quickly get people to Mars (getting them back will be somewhat more difficult, due to the fact that the sky canopy prevents aerobraking) and for the starship. What becomes fairly clear is that trying to push both projects at once would require a long time, time that the human race and possibly the Earth itself does not have.

TOL is building a large staging area in the Rub-Al-Khali grassland (formerly desert).

Nobody knows about what will happen in that case - there's only one way to figure it out.

Eventually, realistic designs for a starship emerge; a few can be quickly scaled down to "only" do Earth-Mars on an Aldrin cycle.

Your people have developed the technology; all that is needed is the infrastructure investment.

Barring a miracle, and nobody's a fan of those, it looks like you, Omega, will probably remain on Earth, though.

Hinting that you may have an angelic weapon to trade, you offer the sample to Sunday in exchange for TOL attacking the regional capital of...

# Siberia.

# Kamchakta.

# India.

# China.
>>
>>1012111
well what IS an angelic weapon worth in terms of trading for?
>>
>>1012106

Fire.

Lots of fire.

While stories abound, there has been a similar effect in Cairo during the uprising: so many canopy lightning bolts trying to down your insurgents that the air itself was ionized enough that further bolts would be a lot more clustered together and a lot more incendiary. This required firing rockets at the canopy to cause rain, and regrettably, resulted in the loss of your first canopy station.

>>1012117

You do know that TOL has been looking for one, presumably to give to Satan when he shows up for the final battle. You currently have Azrael's scythe, and one of Uriel's swords (the other was damaged, and has lost any pataphysical property that it might have had). The scythe has been installed on a rotary mount and is currently being used in one of your factories, since it never goes dull, it saves some time in manufacturing.
>>
>>1012111
I wanted to say if they lure an angel we will defeat it and give them the weapon

And just read up on sodom and gomhorra shit we need to fix that asap
>>
>>1012129
Well do we have a rough idea on the resources we could gain if we handed over one of Uriel's swords? Would it be a large enough boost towards the colony project to warrant the hand over?
>>
>>1012147
I think we should do what I'm offering we have good experience in killing angels
>>
>>1012147

Entirely possible; you do know that TOL has tried (and failed painfully) to bait Angels before. However, there is a decent chance of them risking to go to war with you to take it, instead of trading, if you let them know that you have it - as far as anyone knows, Azrael's scythe was sullied, and the Uriel incident was not known to TOL (or even most of your forces) at all.

Note that at this time TOL has a bigger army than you - they are not attacking you because your high technology intimidates them, and because they are trying to raise an army for +1000.

You can check relative army size at the bottom of the status picture.
>>
>>1012166
Well ask them what a sword of the angels would be worth in general, hint around at it but never confirm it. Or go with this guys ideas >>1012157
>>
>>1012166
Yeah let's not tell them that's why I offer My option if there willing to take the hit to bait them we can even advise on how to do it well can kill the angel and give them the weapon. As well if we can bait tol in this action to start openwarfare 40 years early against greater Jerusalem weaken both of them and would allow us to attack and take prime target's in the war.

>>1012186
Under no circumstances should we let them know we have one they will just try forcefully taking it and we don't have the time to deal with open war.
>>
>>1012193
I'm not fucking stating we have one, I'm asking so we can have a real understanding the value of such an object.

>>1012166
Could we use it to find a way to attack god himself?
>>
>>1012202
I don't expect them to tell us anything remotely helpful they hate our guts but deal with us as long as they think we are helpful.
>>
>>1012202

That is possible, although unlikely. Your forces have yet to try to use an Angel's weapon against another Angel.

>>1012204

That is an accurate assessment.

>>1012202

What you do know is that Sunday seems extremely worried about the Deimos sample, about as much as the Temple is.

>>1012186

A bit of "hinting around" through black market brokers and the like finds that they are offered huge sums of money in various currencies, and are then subject to infiltration attempts.

Of course if you want to mess with heads, you can also hand the samples over to the Temple at the next Feast of Tabernacles, or drop them in the sea... After all they are only rare because you've only sent the one probe; you can get more.

Incidentally, the probe's chassis has been stripped of all reusable engine components and is now on display in Misrayim's space center. The grabber arm is still operational and children can play with it.
>>
>>1012221
Is there enough we can split it in 3 parts keep one give another at the tabernacle and keep one?
>>
>>1012226

By necessity, the sample is small, about the size of a fist. It is composed largely of loosely aggregated silicates. It has been analyzed thoroughly, and is otherwise not very interesting - what IS interesting is that this is tangible confirmation that the other planets still exist. You can probably split it.
>>
>>1012221
Can we hand both sides some of it? Some during the Feast of Tabernacles and then the other too the Sunday?

Also, Can we reserve design the sword? Or use it to find a place with the same make up to see if there is some weird magical shit going on leadng to heaven?
>>
>>1012247

The experiments that Ziggy performed with Angelic weapons show that finally managing to damage one, which takes intense effort, causes it to lose all its interesting properties and just be a lump of inert iron-56. Incidentally, iron-56 is the most inert isotope of any element.
>>
>>1012247
If I remember correctly what we know about the sword is that it is purely one element and free from imperfections and radiation. Otherwise it is not special in any way.

And yeah I agree with handing both sides some
>>
>>1012266
GOD IS UNDER THE SOIL. But ya, hand over the Samples to both parties are the 'best' time for us and 'worse' for them.

Keep the sword but lets ready to kill somebody for another?
>>
>>1012247
>>1012268

You split the sample, and prepare to hand off half of it to Sunday, without telling him that it's only half of it, of course.

Your price is a TOL attack on

What does that mean? Also, Which of those are the places with most mineral/nuclear stuff?
>>

What is the Mellinial kingdoms investments and stances on all those areas?
>>
>>1012298
>>1012299

The Millennial Kingdom is pretty iuniform and bland when it comes to resources, which has avantages or disadvantages. If you want to set up a situation of surplus and scarcity, you'll have to create it. Currently, you can do so by manipulating vegetation. As it is, most of the world buys their electronics from your territories... which is probably why the NJ government is pushing pastoralization.

Nuclear fuel is an exception: deposits exist in Heartland, South Africa, Australia, and possibly China, and nowhere else that you have found them.

Thus, "apple of discord" is used to signify the core, kernel, or crux of an argument, or a small matter that could lead to a bigger dispute.

I might be misunderstanding this, but we could use it to lead to a bigger dispute, and toss everything into chaos days before the whole end game would happen or we could farther ourselves. Lack of sleep is effecting me, I might just be stupid.
>>
>>1012385
I think it's potential for that. Any reason we can't do both. Get them to attack and area while having them fight internally for it. Perhaps put some agents in there ranks and break off a whole base or 2 for our side?
>>
>>1012391
i'd be for it
>>
>>1012333
We'll I'm not sure if you got our vote but it was give a half to them with some agents sneaking in Mabey a cabal if we can. Have them attack China while the agents start rising tensions from within ranks hopfully causing some splitting and chaos over this that we can take advantage of.

The other half goes to feast of tabernacles.

Also what does Internet dominance do for us?

It looks like that Zaki Ababneh has been checking on the well-being of the Christians living in Assuan. Thanks to your policies, Christians in Misrayim enjoy as much religious freedom as every other faith (the Pharaonic Revivalist community is especially well organized; since the Nile is still dry, they've built tracked solar boats for their festivals) so the only complaint they have is that they aren't allowed a bully pulpit.

However, in most cases, after talking to Zaki they move out, either to a different city - Cairo is a favorite - or to a different territory.

At the beginning of the year, the Assuan municipal government receives a delegation of believers asking for special privilege, or they will move out for greener pastures. What is unsaid, but well known to you, is that this would result in Zaki having to report that he could not find ten righteous men in the city, opening it up for Divine retribution.

On that note, you may decide whether to allow Christians to do their Tabernacles pilgrimage as usual and hand them the Deimos sample, or send a team along with them to turn it in. Note that MEC agents who are discovered to be revenants will be attacked on sight in New Jerusalem.

The Other Light has kept to the letter of their agreement, and moved a number of cells into China; the soldiers they've sent are sloppy even by their standards, but there are quite a few of them. They have begun a campaign of sabotage.

The superweed seeding in Western Europe is starting to bear fruit, depressing that region's agricultural output.

Night City is now able to sustain a siege and, for all intents and purposes, may attempt to declare independence from the Eastern Europe territory.
>>
>>1013962

You have 21 cabals total; of these, 3 are maintaining your systems, and 1 is manning the containment facility in Australia, so 18 are available.

You are tracking enemy teams. Rules for allocating cabals and assets: http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/LeftBeyond.QuestRules.html

Variable complexity / contested actions:

# Launch an attack on a TOL base or a govt installation.

# Work on global data network infrastructure, incidentally making sure that you control more of it.

# Any interesting idea you might want to try.

# Deal with special situations (see above post)

Complexity 0

# Use your automated base in Greenland to produce drones, space rocket parts, or cybernetics for MECs.

C 1

# Foster pagan worship in a territory.

# Improve morale across your organization. There does not seem to be any need, but as an AI, you cannot tell well.

# Harass or sabotage a Hero, or tie up an enemy team.

# Jam radio transmissions in a territory. This forces people to switch from NJ-controlled broadcast media to internet media.

# Send a survey team anywhere (covert or overt).

C 2

# Induct MEC citizens into your cabals, and upgrade them accordingly at one of your bases. This adds one dot to the MEC cabal counter per base.

# Produce drones at any base. Current army size is marked on the bottom of the map.

# Use any of your bases to improve (relative to rest of the world) prosperity in that territory. You must control the territory.

# Use a base in a territory you don't control to start bringing that territory under your control. Progress will be made in 1/5 increments.

# Seed irradiated super-grain in a Christian territory. This decreases the need for agricultural work, and makes life even more boring there.

# Seed irradiated super-weed in a Christian territory. This increases the need for agricultural work, and makes life more miserable there.

# Using your internet dominance, attack TOL or NJ networks for disruption or to mine data.

C 4

# Continue nuclear or sonic research. (Nuclear research will focus on botany and engines ). (Sonic research focuses on medium size weapons).

Complexity 5

# Complete your Avatar project, allowing RTS-style control of your drone fleet.

# Take over a TOL base by force.

# Begin building a base in the Middle East in the Rub-Al-Khali.

# Recruit a new cabal into your forces. (The more cabals you have, the more expensive it is to recruit)

# Complete preparations for self-sufficiency and break Night City away from Eastern Europe (mechanically equivalent to taking that territory over, since it is otherwise sparsely inhabited).

Oh god i dont know what to do with all these options aside from trying to fuck god over in the Narrative sense, so um, work on foster pagan worship, focus on avatar project and maybe work on unlocking the NC tree? I was also thinking we could try to do the self sufficieny thing for Night City as well?
>>
>>1013966
>Break night city away by finishing its preparations for 5
>Rnd Nuclear for 4
>Launch another space station part? Even though we should have 3? Ticks i think.
>find out about these special privileges, and how long until Zaki shows up to count them?
>>
>>1013985
>>1013981

You have two station components up at the moment; the third, a small hydroponic farm, is ready to be launched. This plus a Hab will allow having people up there permanently, other than Cordylon (MECpods mostly require electricity and glucose, and Cordy has been left with a reservoir).

Zaki is already "counting", and people are moving after he talks to them; what the believers ask the municipal government are extra privileges, such as that of being able to preach on other people's private land (as opposed to only on public land), tax exemptions for "religious" businesses, and the like. One interesting privilege that they ask for is being allowed to pull their kids out of the astronomy unit of science classes without affecting their grades, at least until the Temple Tribunal makes a decision about outer space.

Temple rumor has it that the Tribunal will rule that outer space does exist, but should be ignored, as it has done its job before the Millennial Kingdom anyway. You note an uptick of flat-earth and celestial-spheres videos on OmegaTube, most of them pretty badly produced.

# Let those be. Unlike the Good Guys, you don't censor.

# Remove them from your network.

# Let them be, but fiddle with the ranking.

>>1013985

That allocates 12 cabals; you have 18 to allocate.
>>
>>1013991
># Let those be. Unlike the Good Guys, you don't censor.
>>
>>1013992

The flat-earth and celestial-sphere videos are quickly outnumbered by rebuttals using the images you've been getting from the canopy station and the few that you have retreived from the Deimos probe. Most believers are waiting for the Temple pronouncement, which is due at the end of the Feast of Tabernacles. Some of your guys are genuinely hoping that the Temple Tribunal declares outer space nonexistent, that way they'll leave you alone about it.
>>
>>1013966
How long do we have for zaki. And didn't we do nuclear research last turn?
>>
>>1013997

Nuclear research: Yes, and it has been marked :)

It might have been useful to track Zaki last year, but you still have this year - the Feast of Tabernacles is roughly at the end of it (OOC note: Actually it's in the fall, but to make life easier, it's when Yahweh takes His turn in this game).

Essentially, Zaki has been ostensibly doing an informal census of Christians living in Assuan, but in actuality, he seems to be convincing a good chunk of them to move away, and the remainder to consolidate under one interest group. This interest group has now given a sort of ultimatum to the city government, that they will leave the city if they do not get extra concessions.

Zaki is a Glorified, and if past history is any indication, attempting to lock him up will cause an Angel to show up. Attempting to kill him may, depending on how this is arranged, result in incineration for the would-be attacker.

In China, The Other Light has begun a campaign of terrorism and sabotage. Since their people are not particularly well trained for it, so far it's been mostly an annoyance, but you can probably use it to do your stuff while the local government chases them. They are planning an attack in force against the regional capitol in Pyongyang by the end of the year.

What's going on in the west coast of the us. And what are the specifics of our agreement with weaver
>>
>>1014001

>>
>>1014003

Capt. Weaver was instrumental in bringing independent terrorist Styr Magnor to justice in +950. Realizing that she liked the excitement, she agreed to work with Omega for 15 years before returning to her job as a ferry captain.

Pacifica is under your unofficial control; the nominal government in Orange County still reports to New Jerusalem, but nonbelievers there have created an unofficial economy that has quickly eclipsed the official one. Afterwards, they lobbied very hard for limited government, so much so that most legal disputes are handled by arbitration, most regulation is handled by guilds or unions, and so on. These contracts are mediated by a supercomputer called Colossus, which is in fact one of your datacenters. Essentially, Pacifica has similar strict moral laws to most of the believing world, but they have become unenforceable.

>>1014005

What the believers ask the municipal government are extra privileges, such as that of being able to preach on other people's private land (as opposed to only on public land), tax exemptions for "religious" businesses, and the like. OK so plan to counter fire and brimstone.
4 cabals on increasing prosperity in Egypt
1 cabal on following zaki and disrupting hid plans
3 cabals on Internet dominance and pushing for heavy tourism from Christians in Egypt. Shouldn't be hard to have at least 10 at all times especially with no seasons.

10 cabals on recruitment. Need to drive up our numbers

Put Jeb and kat on recruitment. Everyone else on the operation in Egypt.

Promise Jeb 2 launches next year for not having one this year.

Automated factory on drones all other bases on MEC.
>>
>>1013985
>>1014068

Both interesting plans, but someone'll have to tiebreak...

Logically, an active space program would increase tourism, but right now the whole notion is suspect to believers, so suspending launches might actually help with improving tourism.

Also what does our Internet dominance do to directly help us?
>>
>>1014101

Internet dominance allows hacking actions (either to disrupt, or to mine data) if it's more than 50%. In addition, it affects the public response to events - see the little blurbs I've written over the months.
>>
>>1014104
And what do we know about narrative causality and what have we tested to create other deities and or effect yahwe
>>
>>1014107

NC data points found: 5/10

Worshiping other gods seems to have a very small effect, but a detectable one.

Statistically, there seems to be a small but detectable observer effect - an action observed by many who want it to succeed has slightly better chances of succeeding.

The Millennial Kingdom was devoid of fireflies until a few years ago. "Jenny" may have been a time traveler, or the goddess Hecate.

A few speculate that Sunday may be indwelt by Satan. Satan is God's prosecutor in the Old Testament and God's enemy in the New Testament; he was condemned to the lake of fire at the time of the Glorious Appearing, but was also instrumental in preventing the Antichrist from fighting the Battle of Armageddon effectively.

A few things are known about how Yahweh operates.

* Naturals have bodies that age about 10 times as fast as they used to, but in a nonlinear way (the math can be found at http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/LeftBeyond.Aging.html ). At age 100, an unbelieving natural will drop dead. This issue has been largely solved by the development of metabolic extension controllers.

* Killing or raping a believing natural will result in death by lightning from the perpetrator. This is why agent-grade MECs also feature a lightning rod, usually implanted in the left leg.

* Glorified have bodies that are metabolically 25 to 35 years old, and do not age.

* Glorified have been observed to act erratically when confronted with situations that do not "fit the script", freezing until the cognitive dissonance is gone, ignoring the "wrong" situation until it goes away, and in one extreme case, failing to see Jenny at all.

* A killing blow on a Glorified will result in incineration. It is unknown whether this applies to, for example, boxing matches. This issue has been somewhat bypassed by using drones. The Glorified will then regenerate.

* Kidnapping a Glorified will result in an Angel being summoned nearby, rushing to the rescue.

* Angels are extremely tough, treat their raiment and weapon as part of their person, have superhuman strength and stamina, and can effectively "retract" their wings by making them unnoticeable. They range from human size to over 5 meters tall. They are effectively tireless unless shot with radiation sources for an extended period of time. They can emit a "trumpet blast" that can shatter glass, burst eardrums, and structurally weaken stone and concrete. Blows delivered by mechanical or cybernetic means affect them much less than they should. They can partially phase out, enough to be effectively impervious to bullets.

* Angels that fail in their mission will be retroactively disowned by Yahweh, who will declare them Fallen and then burn them with the fires of Hell. In the instant between these two actions, they regain free will.

* TurboJesus has not emerged from the Temple since 75 days after the Glorious Appearing.

* The children born in Night City are suspiciously similar to fantasy dwarves.

>>1014145
What gods other then yahweh are currently being worshiped and how much?
>>
>>1014160
Also who did Quinn worship if anyone?
>>
>>1014160
>>1014164

Quinn believed in some fairly strange things. She left a personal diary, mostly filled with nonsense in the vein of the Voynich Manuscript, and a link to http://aeternalae.wikia.com/ indicating that she believed in some sort of syncretic goddess-centered paganism.

The most popular gods in your territories, save for Yahweh, are Haephestus (you will often see a shrine to Haephestus/Vulcan in machine shops, makerspaces, and factories), Hecate (usually depicted with Jenny's face for the "maiden", usually near a home's front door), and Seshat, Egyptian goddess of wisdom, usually syncretised with Athena -- she isn't so much worshiped formally as used for the representation of truth and knowledge; you may find a statue of her in a corner of a research campus. That said, Egyptian revivalism is pretty strong in Cairo, although it's hard to tell whether it's being taken seriously, or as an excuse to cosplay and party.
>>
>>1014184
Hmm we need to get a true believer In one of these gods and see if they go to hell or not when the die. See how much counter pull that can bring. Should be easy just a delayed switch on separating the pain center of the brain.
>>
>>1014218

Interesting task; The problem is convincing someone to potentially feel the pain of Hell, even for a few seconds before the MEC kicks in. Assigning one or two cabals to this task will make sure enough resources exist to find a candidate and make sure that they are adequately compensated. There is always a chance of insanity, though - this was actually the main issue with early MEC prototypes; sustaining life was easy, but it took intentional brain damage to the area of the brain that processes pain to preserve their sanity.

Hey, I'll need you guys to decide :)

A few reminders:

* Most of your bases have no security detail.

* TOL will attack the Chinese regional capitol by the end of the year; if you have operations to do in that territory, they will benefit from the distraction.

* Cordylon is manning the station all alone.

* You have decided to stall Zaki's efforts to bring Divine wrath on Assuan by giving in to his demands - this has been known to work at least in the short term.

* In 2 years, Urist will be old enough to enter an apprenticeship.
>>
>>1014336
Can't we use the drones as security detail?

Ok 3 cabals on launching space part
2 cabals on increasing prosperity
2 on Internet pushing for dominance and tourism
1 one zaki. Perhaps we could use this to get another angel?

10 on recruitment
Same hero layout but Jeb on space.

QM we are currently sending supplies for the Ark ship as Jeb called it correct?
>>
Is that acceptable?
>>1014335
We'll hectate has shown to increase our productivity slightly in many regards so I think we should be able to use this for more power
>>
Rolled 17, 14 = 31 (2d100)

>>1014348

The drones can and are used in the eventuality that an attack has to be repelled; your security folk have a more complicated job than "shoot whoever crosses the yellow line". They have to decide if something is a threat, keep an eye on nearby TOL cells and/or missionaries to try to anticipate an attack by doing some detective work, run interference against law enforcement in territories you don't control, and so on. If it does come to a fight, the current plan is indeed to break out the Battlebots.

>>1014348

The cabal following Zaki all but reveals itself to the Glorified activist when they join the delegation to the Assuan city government - in a policy reversal from previous years, they agree to allow homeschooling and religious schools.

While Zaki loudly complains about bigotry as the other demands aren't met, this mollifies most of the Natural believers in the city. Enough of them stay to set up a Christian school, which will also double as a mission. Zaki Ababneh, of course, continues to try to get people to leave, but to little avail, at least for now...

The downside is, of course, that a few citizens of Assuan report being loudly laughed at or harassed by children who don't know any better, as they have been taught that it's perfectly okay to consider MECs demons and to try and rebuke them in the street. Even so, it's a small price to pay for avoiding a rain of fire.

You direct most of your organization to work on recruiting; despite the difficulty in finding enough skilled personnel who isn't already working for you, they are successful, resulting in...

# One extra cabal.

# Security details for two of your bases.

Having managed to appear to Zaki as well-intentioned citizens who disagree with him but want him to have what he wants, your cabal is able to attempt a snatch operation on Zaki. They estimate a fifty-fifty chance of success.

# Proceed. Time to see if we can face an Angel in the open field.

# Leave him alone, we don't have an arena prepared to fight an Angel in.

Cordylon is overjoyed to see Jeb again, and this time, he brings a couple of Cosmists along to help set up the aeroponic farm. When they are done, assuming no systems fail, the canopy station is self-sufficient; the next addition is a power plant upgrade that will allow making enough hydrogen and oxygen to launch more probes, if you wish to visit other planets. At this point, this mostly has a propaganda value, although it may be useful to see whether there are more resources on Luna or Mars.
>>1014350

The first step towards building a starship is setting up the canopy station: there, cosmonauts can be trained, and a maglev rail can be built to help cannon heavy equipment into orbit. Once the station is at 6/8 it can be used for launches.
>>
>>1014366
What places have security detail?
>>
>>1014366
Didn't we launch 2 pieces up before? So should't we have another piece up their? Also Can we move enough people and battlebots into position to face the angel? they are weak too sonic weapons yes?
>>
>>1014366

Unfortunately, your sysadmins find that they are only able to maintain the lead they have in Internet dominance, not extend it. They do notice however that the New Jerusalem government is once more discouraging online activity, given how the internet has become a den of vice, in their words.

Your efforts to boost tourism and prosperity for the territory of Misrayim are somewhat successful; despite the Nile being yet dry, the place has almost recovered the vibe it had during the Renaissance, especially compared to areas like the American Heartland and Eastern Europe.

Near the end of the year, TOL attacks the Chinese capital of Pyongyang. It's a massacre. Their poorly trained soldiers attack the goverment buildings with WW2-inspired gear, quickly occupy the city, and are mocked by the believing population and reminded that they can do nothing to them without dying themselves.

After a few hours of this, something has to give, and something gives - a TOL soldier shoots a low-ranking bureaucrat, and is promptly zapped by lightning from the sky canopy. The shot is heard throughout the capitol complex, and precipitates a panic and more firefights. Incidentally, you confirm that believers who shoot unbelievers seem to face absolutely no retribution for their action.

The surprise comes a minute later; the TOL soldiers who have been killed get up and, with shambling and stiff motions, move towards government workers and civilians alike. It seems that TOL has managed to pervert your MEC tech into a sort of zombie system; you had suspicions, having captured a prototype years ago, but now it is confirmed.

What is truly disturbing is that they have managed some technological advancement on their own; while most revenants are eventually brought down by lightning or concentrated fire, those who were bitten or clawed by them develop rabies in the following days. The "zombie MEC" implant, government sources later determine, carries a viral payload. A few believers die from this.

Finally, to complete the year, the Feast of Tabernacles happens. The Western European delegation is chastised by Temple priests for the poor quality of their food offerings. The Misrayim delegation brings, among its gifts, an ornate box containing half of the Deimos sample; this causes some scandal, not because of the impending Tribunal judgement, but because the Glorified priests insist on calling it worthless rock.

Eventually, without interference from either you or TOL, the Tribunal pronounces its judgement: other planets do exist, but they have fulfilled their theological function with the Glorious Appearing, and it is the duty of a believer to ignore the physical heavens and focus on the spiritual heaven.

There is a tearful final goodbye between Valentina and the few believers who have been working with the Cosmists since the beginning.

>>1014381

Currently, the base in Australia does. It's where you keep your "interesting" specimens under observation and study.
>>
>>1014390

Yes, you have built the 3rd piece earlier, and have lanched it this year. The station is now at 3/8 with no piece ready, so you'll need to make another piece, and then launch it (this can be done in the same year, but counts as separate jobs due to testing and production requirements).

Zaki operates between Assuan and Cairo, so you have plenty of assets in the region and can move them into position quickly. Angels are confused by sonic weapons, and weak to radiation.
>>
>>1014399
So we have forces we can use that field both Sonic and radiation weapons?
>>
>>1014410

Most of your agents carry a wrist-mounted wubber, with larger versions available if necessary. The Desolators can be armed either with radiation emitters or toxin sprayers.
>>
>>1014410
Yeah if you haven't read the archive it took long mazes of radiation and sonic to take down the angels.

>>1014366
One cabal. Feel like I wasted 5 of those cabals thay turn. Also leave him for now we need to set up a fortress to kill it in

I haven't actually looked in the archive.

>>1014395
Do we or are we able to secure a sample of the viral payload that 'killed' believers?

Yeah we should get our hands on that. God wouldn't have many believers if most of them are dead. Of course we should use this as a last resort.

I gotta go to work in a bit actually. You saw that the virus was very similar to rabies; what's interesting is that most diseases are extinct, so how did TOL get it? You do not have a sample, but sending a team in China may result in being able to round up some of the stragglers and get it out of them. Up to you how much manpower and which Villain, if any, you put on this.

So what are the other 'faiths' doing at this time? Norse, Greek, Old Babylon, ect?

Also perhaps we could make our own profesy using our Internet dominance and then force it into exsistance?
>>
>>1014493

In the territories you control, a few of the old religions have come back, some ironically, some not. But that's about it. In most of the world, open heresy is only not punished by death because they try to convert you first.

New thread will be at >>1014507

>>1014503

You can definitely try to exploit the Mandela effect, but it would require a lot of finesse!
>>
>>1014503
>>1014518

Are they truly dead though? The Gods of old or are they simply weakened or looking for a way to get involved once more.
>>
>>1014535
We don't know. It dosnt seem the gods even are truly sentient beyond fulfilling what people belive. So it seems more like weakened in till believed in again although they make little direct action unless it is expected by them by many. Although. Out only true example is yahweh
>>
>>1014540
>>1014535

The debate about this has literally been going on for thousands of years. What you do know is that Yahweh is either the only god, or the only god that seems to have any power... although there is still the question, who was "Jenny" really? She visited the world, was helped by your agents in checking the whole place out, and said that she'd like to help. When someone slipped her a laundry list of things that would in fact help, she disappeared, and left the coordinates of a time capsule that, once disinterred, turned out to contain more or less that which had been asked for.

Some who met her think she was a time traveler, some who met her think she was the Goddess Hecate, some think that she was a baol...
>>
>>1014556
Can't find anything related too a Baol but a part of a kingdom. If she was a time traveler? We won then in the future and sent somebody back into the past to aid us.

Do we still have any books about other 'end times' from the various other faiths that were once dominant?

However maybe those kids that were gonna be assassinated might have something to do with the other gods. Crazy AI vs Yahweh unless we pull a miracle out of our ass.
>>
>>1014577

Yes, all that data is in the archives. Unfortunately, most of the historical commentary on it is missing. Project Gutemberg was just starting when the Rapture hit...
>>
>>1014602
So do we have the means to kick start any of the 'events' that showed the end times for the other religions?
>>
>>1014617

It can definitely be attempted, but you'd need to make sure that there are enough believers around.
>>
>>1014617
Do we want to deal with another one though hopfully we can find somthing we can controll. Or just go crazy and start Ragnarock we already have an army of sinfull dead

>>
>>1014684
Why not? We would have to be subtle about it but we could put forth a individual to take the place of neferti. Also we should look into native American and Chinese mythology see if we can capitalize on those areas
>>

The text is a pseudo-prophecy, i.e. one written after the event. We'd need something else, and bigger much more extreme.

>>
>>1014647
I feel that if we wanted to have something with enough we'd have to really ramp up or beilieve systems to get our numbers to be about maybe the same or more than the Christians so in essence try to start our own religion and make it more appealing than the christians, mainly we already have a boost by simply offering something that's fucking different for one.

Any ideas on how to make people more interested?
>>
>>1014759
Not a clue, Honestly the end times thing with another religion would to be buying us time to finish our Space work, or until we can nuke Super Jesus with radiation. I'm also interested in wither those who follow other religions and/or born in space are subject to only living too 100
>>
>>1014754

Flooding the world is borderline possible - you'd need to melt enough of the canopy to make big chunks of it fall down. This is achievable with a number of nukes, which you don't have, or a lot of conventional explosives, which you do.

(Please do plan, but I gotta go do my shipping and clean up the workshop)
>>
>>1014772
we could wind up shooting ourselves in the foor with last bit simply becuase some of this is mandated by God that we live for 1000 years while in other religions man lives a natural life more or less. Course that I thoerize would require us to heavily out number them and TJ in the belief section, I would suggest something like increasing small subtle things for Vulcan worship, temples and the like for Night City for example to better aide in this.

Also I find it funny/annoying that God/Missionaries think that by having a miracle off on whether someone exists or not is dumb when one is specialized in one thing, crafting, metalwork and automatons while the other is a generlized jack of trade bugger that can't even bother to master his trade and be proud of it.
>>
>>1014818
I'd be down for returning the Roman/Egyptian gods. But can we USE them for war?
>>
>>1014867
Well I dont know about the Egyptions simply because they neer really had a war face to go with and I think they play a better support role since there is already a heavy belief that oh the Egyptions got their ass kicked so we can do it again vibe.

Romans however? Oh boy. Romans were diciplined, they are vicious, and they were geared for three things; War, Conquering and Pushing the Frontier.

If you give the Romans an objective to complete then hell or high water those Gods would try to get people to reach for it as hard as they can. Hell the morpheus god of sleep in Rome would punish soldiers that slept on duty by killing them to maintain dicipline like a commissar.
>>
Any reason we can't make our own God perhaps become a god?

>>
>>1014938
Hmm perhaps we could push for a god emporer. Any myths on God's coming down to earth to slay false pretenders? Or we could push our own profesy through the internet and then fufuill it gaining faith. Make it look like an act of that God rather then our doing and perhaps we will create a self fulfilled profesy.
>>

Rome has survived the global flattening with considerable damage, but the old monuments are still recognizable, and have been cared for by the locals. That said, not very many people still live there, so a conquest is possible, if strategically not very sound.

>>1014975
Np and we can secure italy/Rome that way correct?
>>

Yes, it should be possible to subvert Western Europe, or just Italy. In the world before, the Alps would have given you an easily defensible natural border, but Yahweh has flattened the Earth and removed all that natural beauty.
>>
>>1015034
That one anon made a good point, Egyptian gods are more support but Roman ones seem fitting. We have the ..18? Cabal's to do this turn correct? Didn't see a new thing about them pop up.

I think it's in the new thread

>>1015084
Nope, QnA with Space station MEC and also the intro.

We have 19 cabals now. But yeah let's push for some Roman's. Mabey we can diversify the belife again get Roman's Egyptians native Americans and all coming back.

Not the Native American's, We need to focus else.

Turn?
>Continue Nuclear research 4 Cabal

>Produce drones at any base 2 Cabal
>Begin building a base in Italy near roman 5 Cabal, Use weaver
>Foster pagan worship in Rome and italy for the Roman gods, and also in Egyptian lands for Egyptain gods 2 Cabal, use Zak
>Use automated base in greenland to produce more space rocket parts/station parts, use Jeb

So that's 18 Cabal used and all hero's assigned? Also we REALLY need to get more heros/villians/ect
>>
>>1015164
Also Jam Western European Radio forcing them onto the internet for 1 Cabal and then we're full?
>>
>>1015164
Aren't we still deciding on somthing I don't think it's next turn yet but we should have 19 cabals so add one for Internet dominance and spreading pagan worship online.

I will say though rather the nuclear research we should use those 4 cabals on dealing zaki rebuild the fortress we killed the last one in and capture him lure him there and use our heroes to kill the angel and eliminate the glorified putting Damien and Kat on it.
>>
>>1015273
Well WOULD they fall for the same trick again? And could we get him there before the angels get there?
>>
>>1015286
We knock him out and put him in suspended animation till we want the angel. Once we wake him up he comes. Look through the archive for the last two times this happened. Unless somthing comes out of left field should be doable.

Yeah there pretty thick they would fall for the same trick especially because they didn't even know the last trick happened. Perhaps we could be growing a another non aligned angel too.
>>
>>1015305
I thought if you went to do any harm to a glofired you're zapped? So would't knocking him out count as harm?

I kinda want our RnD done now because it should help in the longer term then just capturing him. Also, Why not spread it in the former strong-holds first and then spread it online?

You currently have 19 cabals available but only if you release the Australian containment team. 18 otherwise.

Have you settled on a plan?

Zaki has been pacified last year, but he is already renewing the demands that you did not aquiesce to.

>>1015330

The line is hard to draw - attempting to kill or rape a Glorified will cause Divine fire. Grabbing one bodily and locking them in a box will cause an Angel to appear. You have yet to try a nonlethal beating... you also have an army of drones.
>>
>>1015330
Why not do both at the same time?

And if we don't stop him soon Egypt is going to be nothing but fire and brimstone so we need to do somthing now.

And if we just Gass then nonleathaly I don't think it should be a problem
>>
>>1015345
How about this, we'll do you're plan but then next one we do RnD?

>>1015343
This is my vote.

>4 Cabal's focused on dealing with Zaki, rebuild the Fortress from the last time so we trap another angel, 4 Cabal, use Kat
>Complete our Avatar Project 5 Cabal,

You move a significant number of your agents across the Mediterranean, much to Captain Weaver's enjoyment since she has to organize the transfer; she comments that it feels a bit like Garibaldi's invasion, and then has to explain to half your guys who Garibaldi was. The Other Light has a base in Italy, near Ostia, on the outskirts of Rome. You direct your agents to...

# Siege it.

# Storm it.

# Ignore it and build your own nearby.

Zak comes along to see what is left of the Roman religion in its native land, but is skeptical about the project - he's a scientist, not a theologian.

(In the first two cases, how many army dots are you willing to commit? You have 6, they have 17, but they have to save them for the Last Day).

Jeb flies off to Greenland to supervise the construction of the Hab; the automated factory is not 100% robotic, but gets a lot of work done with very little human supervision.

On that note, your sysadmins inform you that the Avatar system is complete. Thanks to comprehensive satellite mapping, good data network coverage, and the use of canopy-floating Sky Eyes as a global positioning system, any one of your operatives can control the entirety of your drone army from a single computer as if it was a game of Command & Conquer; the drones now carry enough processing power to handle collision detection, aiming, and even negotiating simple obstacles such as deciding which doors can be kicked down. Every drone in your army is now carrying the same NAVCOM AI operating system, regardless of whether operates in the air, ground, or water - the NAVCOM chips are interchangeable. This means that you can now control a drone swarm directly, effectively becoming it; it also means that should your agents build a starship, you can be transferred or copied to it.

# Stay in the network.

# Move to the drone swarm. This makes it much more lethal, but it also makes you more vulnerable.

# Ask a Villain for a suggestion for another option.

Most of the remaining forces in Misrayim focus on Zaki's attempt to cause fire and brimstone upon Assuan; while the bulk of them build a containment chamber of the sort that were used against Azrael and Ithuriel, your covert agents...

# Help Zaki get concessions from the government;

# Run interference, frustrating his efforts while making sure that a group of believers stays in the city;

and then...

# Kidnap him, however it ends up.

# Just keep an eye on him, to see if he is organizing anything else.
>>
>>1015448
>Storm it and secure it.
whelp, Opps. Guess he can be a nerd and poke around in the Old Vault under the pope if we can get in?

>Stay in the network for now but ask Jeb if he could ensure their is room on the space ship in the designs for yourself or a copy?

>Run interfernece, frustrating his effeorts while making sure the that a group of believers stay in the city.

>Kidnap him once the containment chamber and fortress is rebuilt so we can get another angel.

Can we send Kat and some extra drones with larger Radation and Sonic weapons to deal with it as well encase it starts falling apart?
>>
>>1015479
Storm and secure it. But first jamm all networks out and give them option to peacefully conceed. In fact bring all the evidence such as zobification and out abilities to help them to influence there decision. Use all 6 army points and our best diplomats.

Try our best to make it look like thay base betrayed them rather then us taking it.

Stay in the network. Is there any reason we can't copy ourselves to the drone and stay in the network just have 2 copies of us. Also anyway we can make a organic/mechanical body for possession perhaps do a god king thing 10 years later.
>>
>>1015448
I'll back this guys well thought out plan. >>1015519
>>
>>1015448
Run interference and kidnap him too
>>
>>1015519

The original plan for the Avatar project was in fact to build you a body, but upon considering the various options, you chose a different line of research a number of years ago.

While you retain the option to move into your drone swarm, you stay in the network. Making a copy of yourself is feasible, but your sysadmins think that there is a 68.71% chance that the two copies would fight to the death, and damage a lot of critical infrastructure in the process.

As a test of the Avatar system, you have Weaver ship most of your drone swarm to Rome, covertly, and use it to surround the TOL base.

You prepare the assault by cutting the base, a weapons factory, off from the net, and giving them one chance to surrender. To help them decide, you attach a video of the corrupted metabolic extension controllers that TOL has been using.

Much to your agents' surprise, the local TOL leadership think that they have been found and are being attacked by Christian law enforcement rather than by Omega! What else is going on? Apparently one of their patrols had recently captured a missionary.

# Who cares, time to conquer Rome!

# Investigate a bit first.

>>1015527

Zaki is frustrated at every turn; after all, the city council has already acquiesced to his demands. A bit of email manipulation makes him think that some of his fellow believers think that he is pushing too far. While there is still a small believing community in Assuan, the Glorified activist is frustrated at every turn, and is just about to flat out go to the one church in the city and order everyone to pack up and move when he is grabbed and chloroformed by...

# a human agent.

# a MEC agent.

# a drone.
>>
>>1015479

>>
>>1015568
>Investigate a bit first.

>>
>>1015568

Also have a drone tag and bag him with a team of MEC observing making sure it dosnt go wrong
>>
>>1015584
>>1015596

MEC or drone for the capture?

Your agents let the TOLers know in no uncertain terms that they are Omegans, not believers - trotting out a heavy MEC in battle configuration at the base's entrance has a way of convincing them. Your men offer...

# no quarter. Sorry, we're just going to massacre you because we want to test our drone army.

# safe passage if they leave all the industrial equipment intact and Just Walk Away.

# employment: change sides and live.
>>
>>1015623
Combination of employment and safe passage. And I'm still for drone with MEC supervision.
>>
>>1015623

I think just killing them would give the wrong message we should give them the option them after those who wish to leave leave we kill them in secret. So the tol think the enter base succumbed and we don't pissed anyone off
>>
>>1015642

Yes, all the rabies samples have been destroyed; you'd have to generate another zombie incident to retrieve fresher samples.

>>1015635
>>1015596

The drone tank shoots a tranq dart at Zaki with a minimum of fuss; it doesn't work. Alarmed, Zaki stops and looks around, just in time to face the drone. That's when another drone uses its pneumatic ram to conk the Glorified activist on the head, in a calibrated fashion so as to knock him out but not take him out.

The man is quickly and quietly carted off to the "arena" which you have built outside the city, a simple warehouse-like building dotted with emplaced wubbers and neutron sources. He is chained down in the middle of it, just out of range of the neutron sources, using steel cable rather than chains so as to make it harder for an Angel to just cut them up.

Approximately four out of five TOL agents refuse your offer of changing sides - they believe that you, Omega, are actually a ploy by Yahweh to distract them from their preparations for the Last Battle. They swiftly kick out those who would change sides; your agents disarm them and lock them in one of your landing craft for now.

Give quarters when a combatant surrenders, try to go for clean kills otherwise instead of spraying people with toxins so as to scare others into submission, that sort of thing. Geneva convention, rather than RIP AND TEAR. Admittedly, some of your guys have wanted to get into an overt battle for a while...
>>
>>1015870
Follow rules of engagement. Start by tear gassing the whole thing
>>
>>1015886

Your men switch to nonlethal methods (tear gas, pepper spray, and wubbers) and storm the place, using the drones as mobile cover. Despite their efficiency, you suffer a few casualties from small arms fire, a couple of which can be refactored into Heavy MECs and a few of which are gone for good.

The base is yours, and with it, eventually, control of Rome. Your jammer is still in place.

The enemy lose a few men, but the majority are stunned or incapacitated; what to do with the prisoners?
Elsewhere, near Assuan....

"Wakey wakey!"

Kat uses a 40-kilo steel hoof to poke Zaki Ababneh back to consciousness.

"What do you monsters want from me!"

"Nothing. You're expendable. You're just Angel bait."

"Yes! An Angel of the Lord will free me just as He delivered Moses!"

"No, when the Angel shows up we're going to kill it, autopsy it, and use its organs to improve our weapons."

"W-what? Impossible!"

Kat holds up a DVD player with scenes of Azrael and Colopatiron being slowly defeated, albeit at great cost, by your forces. The footage is dated, and just to make sure that believers can't say it's fake, most of it is taken from government TV.

The Glorified activist, who having been Raptured as a child never even got the benefit of adolescence, closes his eyes, shakes his head, breaks down and cries like a little girl.

Assume that the Angel will arrive soon and get ready, or prepare for a longer wait?

Best to get prep work done fast and get it ready. In the meantime I would ask this Zaki fellow why do so many people /have/ to follow god to begin with? Aside from saving themselves from Hell in the first place, why do people who don't believe /have/ to go to Hell in the first place?

Why can't people choose to not go to either?

>Find out what the base was being used for and why they were even their and what each persons job was. This is for the prisoners.

Zaki refuses to answer Kat. When one of your non-MEC agents asks the same question, the activist says that it's not Yahweh sending people to Hell, it's people sending themselves -- everyone has the choice to submit and be saved. As why Yahweh does what He does, He is that He is, and can do anything He likes.

Your agent keeps the conversation going as your troops prepare the arena, and you learn that Zaki is basically an authoritarian follower, which isn't exactly news. One interesting thing is that there is quite a bit of exact overlap between his answers and those given by Raymie Steele a few years ago, when he was put into a similar situation.

In Rome, your troops have taken control of the TOL weapons factory - apparently dedicated to making field artillery from old, WW2-era blueprints. They are holding the TOL soldiers and workers prisoner either in the base's cells or in their landing craft. TOL is already starting to reestabilish comms through the jamming.

"Uh, everything's under control. Situation normal."

"What happened?"

"Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?"

"We're sending a squad over."

"Uh, uh... negative, negative. We had an etching fluid leak here now. Give us a few minutes to lock it down. Large leak, very dangerous."

"Who is this? What's your operating number?"

# What to do with the Rome base?

# Looks like the Angel is tarrying.... or maybe it's giving Zaki a chance to convert a few of your agents. Now he is giving a very vivid description of the Lake of Fire. Telemetry such as heart rate indicates that a few of your guys are genuinely worried...
>>
>>1019093
Convert the base into a testing ground for narrative causality. Where we can do test on various gods and how the affect reality. Also give them an actually operating number and put someone not so autistic on the line

If the preparations are done speed it up use one of the drones to stab him in the leg make him screem and remind out troops why were here and that this is to save the human race frome extinction
>>
>>1019149

You interrupt what might have been an interesting theological debate by reminding Zaki of who's in control.

Almost to the second, a tall winged humanoid figure dressed in a peplum and carrying a scepter appears at the edge of the warehouse's sensor range.

# Let it in. Terminating an Angel inside an arena is something your men know how to do.

# Try to take it down outside of the arena, for a change. You need doctrine for dealing with Angels out in the open.

In Rome, you put one of the TOL workes on the line, at gunpoint, and tell her to say...

# that the base has been taken over by Omega, but with few casualties.

# that the base has been raided by believers.

# that they'll get less work done if a commissar is coming in, but okay, come over.

# something else.
>>
>>1019210
# that the base has been taken over by Omega, but with few casualties.
>>
>>1019210
Attempt and practice taking it out in the open but don't jepordise the mission doing so and make sure to save it from damnation death using sonics same as last time.

That the base was nearly taken by omega but they are safe now could use some repair squads and equipment but it's not urgent
>>
>>1019299
Fuck too late I didn't want to make war on the other light. I wish half the people who voted read the Archives were so fucked.

#I may have somthing to offer you for this base.
>>
>>1019314
>>1019260

(Okay, I'l need agreement on this one)

The Angel does not identify itself. Instead, it walks straight towards the only door in the warehouse, which your men have left conveniently open to make sure the Angel follows a predictable path. It's walking, not flying or running; your soldiers unlock the safeties of the inward-pointing emplacements on the warehouse and bring their hand weapons to bear on the Angel, focusing on...

# wubbers.

# neutron emitters.

# a healthy mix.
>>
>>1019327
One then the other record reactions take data as usual then a healthy mix.

Well you know my vote. I think having the other light openly fight us will only bring greater Jerusalem victory
>>
>>1019334

The Angel is not slowed down much by the radiation this time; the wubbers confuse its progress a little, but it eventually gets its bearings, focuses on the door, and marches there. For a moment, it moves to cover its ears, but doesn't.

When your soldiers start firing, the orb at the end of the Angel's scepter lights up with plasma discharges.

(Y'all tell me, but as a warning, overt war is dangerous - it's a high risk, high reward move)

I don't think it's worth it unless we plan on defeating profesy by killing Satan's army. But then we need to be self aware enough to.not become that army.

What happens if we kill tol then kill Satan when he emerges and give Jesus nothing to fulfill
>>
>>1019386

Unknown, but it's certainly a viable plan - the Other Light has a very large army already, but they have no navy or air force and their equipment is centuries out of date; your soldiers are much better equipped, but far fewer in numbers.

As for TurboJesus having nothing to fulfill, your sysadmins theorize that:

* He might resurrect them and teleport them in place just so that they can die horribly again.

* He might simply go ahead with the script, passing judgment upon an absent Satan and declaring victory against an army that isn't there; would His followers dare contradict Him?

* He might succumb to cognitive dissonance and freeze in place like you've seen some of the Glorified briefly do when facing things that according of them should not be.
>>
>>1019405
We'll I mean sounds like somthing that could help. Mabey we can start covertly disrupting there recruitment for our own and taking bases without them realizing it hopfully like this one and wipe them pit at like 5 years out and have that along with other things
>>
>>1019386
>>1019260

While you decide what to tell to whoever is checking on the Rome base, the Angel has reached the door, and opens it with the scepter, the static discharge arcing into the hinges and on the warehouse's foundations, enough to rattle the instruments a little. Zaki is in the middle of the empty warehouse.

# Attack in force!

# Only use the warehouse's built-in weapons to weaken the Angel.

# As above, but while we're at it, irradiate Zaki.
>>
>>1019482
Do we have anything that can counter the static discharge? Certainly an interesting weapon. Which angel is he?

While we do research just slow him down as much as possible with the built in Weapons prepare the teams to attack and outfit them with equipment to counter the angels weapon.

Ok. I've had a good chance to read this stuff, and with the end days rapidly approaching I figure I will offer my two cents on how to claim victory.

My suggestion is that we must break the narrative, prevent the existing hero's (turbojebus too) from reaching heaven. If they can not go where the bible says they are to go, then the story is broken.

The Bible has several rules about whom may and may not go onto the Lord. I am going to borrow just one of them: Deuteronomy 23:1

"No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the LORD."

Yes....My Plan to Save the World from the forces of God Himself.....is a Called Shot To the Nuts.

Jesus sits in the temple upon his throne. He doesn't seem to move around much. No Talk of him visiting the little messiah's room. He's a Static Target for a "head shot"

The world is flatter then piss on a plate thanks to God. Makes setting up a ballistic arc shot rather trivial. Current World Records for a Rifle Kill is at something like 2475 meters or 2,707 yards.

Pretty sure a super computer with AI and Drones, focusing on a static target with mad science grade rail guns can beat that. Might depend on how 'small' the target is, but well....the old military maxim, "There is No Such Thing As Overkill"

The Various translations of 23:1 generally state that if said man-tenna array were crushed or severed, the individual cannot go before the lord. Since it's written for us mere mortals, regenerating his junk does not undo the fact that it happened.

So, One Ballistic Bobbit-ing later, Jesus, or any other hero of the lord, can not now, by biblical law, go before god.

Repeat As Needed.
>>
>>1019539
Fuck yeah let's test this on the glorified crush his testicles. This would be hilarious pr. Let it circulate the internet
>>
>>1019539
Let it be known, that on this day. We declared operation "Emasculation of the son of creation" the best thing ever, assuming it works.
>>
>>1019587
Just so you know gods probably gonna stop the bullet we need to make this work. Perhaps a super powered rail gun like from Evangelion in Egypt disguised as a space launching platform
>>
>>1019601
Hey, it is still funny as shit. I mean, if it works could you imagine the history books and documentaries? The newspapers? The entertaining films and books?

I like to imagine we have hundreds of people going over the bible and old testament for loopholes and ways we can exploite passages and then someone comes across this.

# What to do with the Rome base?

# The Angel is in the warehouse and advancing, probably to free Zaki. Its scepter is marginally more effective at generating EMP noise than previous Angelic weapons were. Attack in force? Activate static weapons? Punt Zaki in the nuts?
>>
>>1019508

Your historians look up the weapon and general appearance of the Angel, but are unable to determine its identity. You will probably know more as it speaks or does anything other than looking grimly determined and walking towards Zaki.

"Not an Archangel. They're a lot bigger. This one could pass for human."

Save for the unrealistically orange hair, it's true.
>>
>>1019742
OK so base I still say convince them that there was an attack but it was fought off make a deception and work on recruiting those we captured. Eventually we will have a whole shadow base.

For the angel prep units for fight against angel with anti static/electricity equipment activate static Weapons perhaps we can use its own power against it. And punt zaki in the nuts active project nutcracker.
>>
>>1019777
We need a team on research again sounds very helpful.
>>
>>1019791

(I'll wait for consensus on the base)

Prior experience has shown that an Angel will try to break out the Glorified captive, turn him or her invisible, and try to leave; sonars have been put in place to nullify the invisibility, although of course if sonars are active wubbers cannot be and viceversa. Given the rather short gauntlet, the Angel is still walking at a healthy pace despite having been bathed in enough alpha and gamma radiation to cause any healthy human being to succumb to radiation poisoning pretty much instantly. Your soldiers stay behind the radiation emitters as much as possible, and they will need a scrubbing shower afterwards, but maybe this Angel attack will be routine...

... then again that's what they thought about Apollo 13, too.

Zaki is sitting in a comfy chair, tied down using steel cables. The cables are yanked to force him to spread his knees, and a solid nut punt is delivered by

# a wubber soldier.

# a MEC desolator.

# Kat. Note that she's in her heavy MEC frame, currently set up to carry ranged weapons since she wouldn't be able to engage the Angel in combat.

# A drone, with the weapon arm.

# A drone, with the pneumatic ram. (Warning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vavB0vFgOX8 )
>>
>>1019844
Do a quick lottery with everyone who wants too.
>>
>>1019879

You only have a few seconds to decide; as an AI, you can dedicate more processing time to an event, thus effectively "slowing it down", but your agents cannot. The Angel is only twenty meters or so away from Zaki.
>>
>>1019909
Oh fine let who ever wants to do it while we engage the angel in waves tier it out. And burn those wings off as soon as we can.
>>
>>1019909
Let a mech do it one who earned it and we know would enjoy the opportunity
>>
>>1019927
>>1019921

You direct one of your MEC troopers to kick Zaki in the nuts; just as the blow is about to impact, the reanimated agent appears to burst into flames. This particular MEC has enough cybernetics that the kick goes through; Zaki is screaming, both at the shock of having seen someone spontaneously combust in front of his eyes, and at the molten titanium that composed this operative's lower legs having scored a direct splash on his junk. The smell in the air is fairly disturbing to most of your agents.

The Angel stops.

Zaki continues screaming; the molten metal has cauterized the wound, but the wound is definitely there, enough so that some of your male agents cannot help but cringe in sympathy.

The Angel looks around, confused.

# Attack.

# Keep weakening it.

# Observe.

# Mercy-kill Zaki.
>>
>>1019976
>Knock him out quickly

>Attack now rip off the wings
>>
Well there's our answer dude the plan works now let's take him somewhere and do some interrogation poke around in his brain tests. And such Mabey we can get eunuchs on our side.
>>
>>1019993

You order an all-out attack; the radiation sources are turned off to avoid hurting your agents, Heavy MECs and drones make a wall around the Angel -- you cannot tell if it was going to retreat after neutering Zaki or not -- and your infiltrator MECs keep targeting it with wubbers while your martial artists move in.

The Angel has not been significantly weakened, and quickly breaks a couple of skulls with its scepter, the static discharge knocking out the fighter; those who aren't fighting hand to hand quickly recover the downed brawlers to safety. On the chair, Zaki keeps screaming in pain.

# Extract him.

# Kill him.

# Let him scream, haha.
>>
>>1020002

You order Zaki to be brought away - the damage to the affected area is pretty much total; your agent sedate him to make transport easier, and this actually works, this time.

The Angel keeps fighting your martial artists, who are trying to surround it and go for the wings as Kat coordinates wubber operation to keep it disoriented without bursting your guys' eardrums, and seems to ignore Zaki being dragged away.

# Attack the Angel aggressively.

# Sap its endurance.

# Give it some space to see what it does.
>>
>>1020099
Sap it's endurance try and tire it out loosing as little men as possible take shifts in attacking. Keep repairing men as they go down
>>
>>1020099
>sap its eduence

I was literally less then a day and anons can't follow a fucking plan
>>
>>1021953
>>1020169

The unconscious Zaki Ababneh is dragged off. Since you have prepared to fight an Angel, there is a number of ambulances waiting outisde the arena, for the inevitable casualties. While by now most of your agents get a Mark 10 metabolic extension controller upon induction, your medics do carry spares.

# Take Zaki away to the nearest secure area.

# Keep Zaki there, in case the Angel decides to teleport out if he is removed from the scene.

Zaki has lost a fair amount of anatomy that, being a Glorified, he wasn't using anyway, and is not in danger of dying since the molten metal from the incinerated MEC agent's leg has cauterized the wound as it was inflicting it.

# Implant a metabolic extension controller anyway. One with a tracking system, perhaps.

# Just dress the wound.

# Prepare Zaki for reconstructive surgery, which you have perfected a few years back for gender reassignment purposes anyway.
>>1021953
>>1020169

The Angel - your sysadmins have searched for a theologian or Kabbalist in your bases, and got one on the video stream's chat, but she is uncertain about which Angel it might be, although she confirms "probably one of the small ones" is beginning to slow down from the sonic overload and the quick jabs that your martial artists deliver every time there's an opening; it standing right under a neutron emitter doesn't help. The scepter touches - with barely any impact - one of your martial artists, and knocks him down almost immediately; he is quickly dragged off by one of the support MECs, who dryly comments "Looks like they've rediscovered the taser". The fighter is fine, but his metabolic extension controller has been damaged from the static discharge and will have to be replaced. That worries the MEC support guy, as the same touch might've killed him again. "Either they're learning or they got lucky."

As per your instructions, as soon as there's an opening, one of your remaining martial artists goes for the wing, and is wing-slapped backwards, but lands on her feet. Other Angels had a slashing or piercing weapons rather than a mace, and this one is finding it difficult to inflict casualties; looks like this fight will go the distance, although you have lost very few fighters compared to other Angel encounters.

In Rome, your techs have been buying time by fiddling with the jammer, but you do know that a TOL plane has taken off from their base in Eastern Europe and will arrive in a couple of hours, presumably to check out the site and provide assistance. They don't know that the attack happened yet, although they probably suspect.

# Handle this situation. You can announce that all this base are now belong to you, you can have your guys pretend to retreat and ambush the relief, you can see how many TOL soldiers switch sides and pretend that everything is fine...
>>
>>1019650

You go over your system logs, and for some reason it seems that "going over the Bible for loopholes" is a project that nobody either in The Other Light or in your own organization has proposed.

# That seems suspicious somehow. Set aside a cabal next year, to go over non-digitized documents and find out why that is.

# Set aside a cabal next year to start working on that, integrating the data with what is already known about "narrative causality" as Zak called it for lack of a better term.

# Both.

# Neither.
>>
>>1022526
Put a cables on both

And vote to make zaki a girl just for shits and giggles but I'll leave it up to the rest of you.

Take zaki to a secure area it's clear the angel dosnt care anymore.
>>
>>1022529

You earmark two cabals, one to work on Biblical exegesis - you've invented tactical theology, it looks like - and one to figure out why this rather obvious tactic had not occurred to anyone in 950 years.

Zaki is sedated, secured, and ambulanced off to Cairo; you'll have to sort out exactly what they will do to him once he is there, but this guarantees that he will be kept alive.

The neutron source has to be turned off when your men try to get a blow in; the Angel uses this moment to take out one of the five remaining martial artists circling it and, to everyone's surprise, try to take off - maybe it has noticed that the arena warehouse's ceiling is flimsy corrugated sheet.

One of your fighters, a burly Central American man specialized in wrestling and wearing, as his choice of tactical gear, an inlaid mask with intricate tribal designs sewn on the sides with a 'fin' on top. He flings himself at the Angel trying to grapple it, but is carried upwards instead.

The Angel is a good 20 feet in the air when your wrestler manages to "pin" its wing, causing both of them to drop.

# Shoot the ceiling around the existing hole, so that they may fall through it, and have Kat try to catch your luchadore.

# Have Kat jump on/through the roof, for the same purpose.

# Take no action and let them drop.
>>
>>1022536
Does the wrestler have enough control in midair to put himself on top of the Angel?
>>
>>1022540

It's a bit chaotic - he's certainly trying. The Angel is clearly stronger, but the wrestler clearly has an advantage in experience. You pull up his personnel file and find that he has been wrestling various animals to train for this fight, including, but not limited to, a bear.
>>
>>1022545

Neither the Angel or the wrestler have much control over their tumbling, but the wrestler is determined to Not. Let. Go.
