Welcome to Cabin Control Quest. This is our Third ritual playing as James Fucking Henderson. A man who turned away from his rirsing superstar status in Hollywood to anually direct snuff films for the amusement of The Ancient Ones waiting to end humanity.

Recently it has been discovered that saboteurs have been trying to stop the rituals for unknown reasons. Last year's chemical outbreak and potentially the year before's intel failure being the work of your would be saboteurs. And now... something is loose.

> Continued from last thread >>1029919

"I know we are all here because we're the best. Not the Japs, nor the Germans or even the fucking Limeys can match us. We wont let them." You declare, "We've lost chem, intel and still suceeded. Now we've got a beastie at our door and we will still make it through." You sigh. "Look to the man or woman to your left. Now the right." The words resonate out throughout the facility.

Thomas turns to the man and woman he has handpicked to serve under him. Susan's squad all look to each other with trust. HARRY and Betty interlace their fingers. The stables rise in an exultative uproar as something alien attacks a speaker playing your voice.

"Trust in them. Look to yourself and trust in yourself. Lights up in thirty minutes. James Henderson, over and out." You finish and hear the click of C45513 turning off your mic. You adress the next words to her. "These bastards killed Rachel C45513. They fucked aorund inside your head and want to end the world." You spit. She hasn't seen you this angry in two years. "Find out what security are up against. Give them that intel then either come on ritual duty or find out who let it out." You run your hands through your hair before tossing an empty cofee mug towards a rare bare patch of floor. "I want their fucking heads C45513!" you order.

"ON IT" She replies snapping a serious salute.

"God Help us." You say as you settle into your chair and crack our knuckles.

"I thought you were already here." Henson says with a smile, testing what systems he still has acess to without C45513's assistance.

You are James Henderson and this gun isn't as interesting as you hoped. Honestly a MAC10 wont' do shit to most of the stable and at least your gun is customised.

But your attention is drawn to the screens,

"This cabin better not have an outhouse. I'm no snob but even I need a shitter." Major Metalhead complains as he hefts [THE VIRGIN]'s case alongside his on his back. Guy is surprisingly strong.

"I mean wasn't the whole point to enjoy nature Xeli?" God's own little princess responds. "It'll be good to get away from it all won't it?"

"Yer right, yer right. Just feels like forever since I had some quiet. Guess I need to get used to it." He mumbles tow which [THE VIRGIN] smiles.

"STOP. Just STOP!" Mystery man says as, Lisa grabs some stuff.

"What is it now blondie? I'm trying to help your gigantic pale ass!" Your candidate for [FOOL] and [ATHLETE] Squares up to the giant dude.

"DON'T TOUCH MY STUFF!" He shouts.

"Maybe you wont have to get used to it X." [THE VIRGIN] says sadly.

"I don't know how y can be friends with him." [THE WHORE] replies in disbelief, "He's a huge as... jerk. Like fire and ice/"

"Well. He's always been nice to me. I think people just look at him as all brawn, which makes him angry and lash out."

"Which makes people see him as a roid rager, which makes him angry, which makes him lash out. Got it." The metal head jingles as he rubs her hair. "So you only make friends with lost causes eh?" [THE WHORE] Teases as he steps into the cabin.

"N-no! Don't say that about yourself!" The Catholic schoolgirl retorts.

"Look. Muhammad Alishia. Don't touch my stuff and we'll be cool. Clear?" James says holding his temple with one hand.

Lisa drops his cases as roughly as possible. "Crystal whiteboy. How my cousin stands your ass I'll never know." She spits into the dirt as she wheels her own case next to her.

Finally comes the red dyed gamer, a Playstaion vita flashing intermittednly as she picks up her small backpack of clothes and cables. She slings it on her back and removes the cat headphones for a minute. "You both need some interpersonal skills." She says sagely, still hammering away at the buttons.

James is picking up his stuff and glaring daggers at the black girl. "She didn't ask to touch."

"Yeah because any non crazy person would be grateful. Apologize later, then relax. Nobody here's out to get you." She then puts the headphones back on leaving James to bring his own case inside with one arm.

The eagle has landed.

"HARRY! Blow the bridges!" You command with a dramatic sweeping gesture.

"Valhalla is for pussies!" He screams as the tunnel leading to the property collpases in on itself in a fiery explosion which sets off a blinking radiation warning on your desk.

"Good work buddy." You say to the dialing tone as there is already fireworks being let off in Demo. You wish you worked there sometimes.

Mystery Man looks back the way they came as the explosion rings out. He spies a smoke column, "The Hell was that?" He says from the doorway. "Ki did you...." But the girl on her Vita is already in the house.

He stares uneasily into the distance before heading into the cabin. Looks like Mystery Man is a bit jumpy... very quick to identify and explosion too... he needs to outlive your metalhead... but maybe it'd be best to remove him from play early.

20 minutes earlier

You are Valentina Santiago, founding member and sole survivor of Los viajeros. You've been in warzones, massacres, military action, peacekeeping forces and security consultations.

But what you are is a solider with no nation. A mercenary. Currently your job is to make sure nobody fucks with this ritual and boy has something fucked up.

Something got out, something bad.

But you're quite happy as you swagger out of Control with your boys resting on your shoulder; because you get to hunt again, rather than stand around or watch over the boss' favourite.

Two men and two women fall into step behind you.

Martin; Flamer

Jess; Tracker

Norm; Heavy Gunner

Trish; Sharpshooter and general Purpose infantry

They're waiting on your orders as you walk down the corridor.

"But what if we're dealing with a gasser." Norm pipes up.

"Jess has thermal and spookvision. She'll see a trail even if it's phasing." You answer.

Your voice switches to your drill seargeant voice, though it has less bite in English than Spanish, "When we rendevouz with Alpha who are holding at the entrance to chem, we'll be taking a medic from them." You explain, "We should have every room on this floor secure by then. So once we have a six squad we're going bottom to top." You finish before adding, "Capiche?"

"Aye ma'am" The choir.

"Good. Get searching." You indicate the doors on either side of this hallway, pointing your weapons at the ground and ready in case any duo is attacked.

Trish and Jess pair off, the ladies watching each others' backs as they perform a five point room scan.

There's no distinct ping from Jess' motion sensor when pointed away from your squad, which does little to set your mind at ease. The Buxom Brit isn't one for sloppiness so they take a little longer than their opposites.

The boys, Norm and Martin move in quickly seeking to surprise any assailants should they exist. A burst of accelrated high grade chemical flame being spat into the darkness for a moment, before the duo storm in after it.

"Clear!" The boys shout.

"Clear. No spectral, thermal or motion. Don't think anything's been on this floor." Jess reports with a saltue before returning to perimeter.

"C45513 this is hunter actual. Lockdown the rest of control floor behind us. It's clear." You say as you make progress to the end of the floor. The radio flickers on and off in affirmation before you even place it back to your belt. It takes you less than thirty seconds to move into motion range of Alpha Squad, the sequence of pings grows more intense as you close in on the swirling staircase upwards to Chem. But

There you know are two soldiers covering the field medic team, as you ascend the stairs you expect a challenge, shouted or a warning shot. But none comes. "Really don't like this pitch and toss." Jess mutters as you climb, "Only one ping this side of the door."

"Martin, point. If it looks non-human, roast it. If it looks human roast it twice." You order to which the big masked man complies.

You fall in behind with your sons at the ready, Trish, Jess and Norm following in that order.

Were it not for the blood, the hallway leading to chem would be immaculate. No spent ammunition, no epxlosions, no scratches, temperature warping or even so much as a fleck of fucking dust.

But there is a corpse, well... half of one, slowly dragging himself to the door as if it were the pearly gates. You all watch silently as it shudders to a stop and gives out.

Approaching cautiously, you hear the ping of Jess' motion tracker. The intensity indicating the movment is probably the beakers in the chemistry dept rather than anything on top of your head.

Norm takes up the rear guard with Trish while Jess and Martin keep an eye on your late aqquisition.

A flick with the boot, a technique perfected through countless tours of duty and countless contracts where corpse identification was essential, flips over the woman. Lifeless eyes staring past your shoulder you note that it is a field medic from Croatia idly.

Nobody gets a job here by being weak or sloppy. So whatever took her and the rest of them by surprise must be incorporeal, cunning, invisible or fast.

"Martin. Did I stutter?" You ask him.

"Nah ma'am." He answers, but confused.

"Well why am I looking at a corpse and not ash?" You remind him, stepping away as the smell of burning flesh fills the air.

"Jess. Anything on your readouts?" You say inspecting the hallway.

"Nothing."

"No thermals and no ghosts?" You confirm.

"Nope." She answers.

"If it bleeds we can kill it." Norm notes sagely.

"Shit. Alright. Hunter Actual, to all responders - Alpha is down. Repeat Alpha is down." You radio in waiting as squad leaders broadcast their bullshits, damnits and fucks. "Listen. We're dealing with flesh and blood and you're all capable of handling that. Alpha got ambushed, so if you got trackers use them. You counsel making the hand signals for your squad to form up on you, "We've not got a confirmed enemy so be prepared for anything."

"Roger Hunter, Bravo out." Another leader replies giving you an idea.

"Bravo, when was last check in for Alpha?" You demand.

"Uhm, they never did. They've been radio silent since lockdown, figured they had orders to-" He begins.

"Bravo actual. I am going to kick your dick when this is over. Keep in touch with Charlie and Delta. You're now comms officer. Understood?" You snap as you move down the stairs in formation. The handheld radio in your hand complaining at the force of your grip.

"Aye Ma'am. I'll get a status update now. Bravo out." He signs off and you resist the urge to sigh in frustration in front of your squad.

"Hey Ice. You can kick the shit out of him later." Trish reminds you, nudging you with her SSAR. "Or you could enjoy the hunt, since you bitch about babysitting duty every year."

Yeah she's right, your off the leash for the first time in years and just because an idiot didn't notice a squad going dark you're going to get annoyed? Nah you're going to embrace this hunt.

Ok, then which floor do we head to?

> Considering this, we do this systematically, thoroughly scouring each floor for any sign of aberrant activity, clearing it, and locking it down before proceeding to the next...

> It should go without saying, but once we have found and killed the creature we apply the appropriate disposal procedures and then continue to sweep and seal rest of the facility.

> Finally, when we are absolutely certain that no monsters are lurking within the facility, we give the clear for tech to lift the lockdown on everything except the exterior doors, which we should keep sealed until the ritual has concluded.

Oops.

>"...exterior doors, which we should keep sealed until the ritual has concluded."

should probably be

>...exterior doors, which we should keep sealed until, the ritual has concluded, C45513 has figured out who let the monster loose, and Susan has finished feeding the traitor into a pencil sharpener.

Yes...

However, assuming the traitor is still on-site and that we capture them alive, we should probably subject them to extensive interrogation, before introducing them to their new career of being a chew toy for the Stable's denizens...

OP, could you give us a basic diagram of the facility outlining the general structure, as well as the locations of vital departments?

Something like the attached image...

On mobile, but I tried my best. This doesn't show all the hallways and rooms, just an overview.

is there any other team to sweep the 2 areas that are behind us? we give them to one of the other squads while we keep going down
>>
>>1057381

Your sqauds are currently outside Server Exit & Demo
>>
>>1057384
ok, we go to catering and keep going down wwhile demo squad goes to demo and up until we meet at stable(i we don't find anything on the meantime)

server exit team sweeps serve.

2 questions:

1 we just cleared chem, right?

2 control is under lockdown or are there areas on that floor that are unsecured?
>>
>>1057393

also, if server team cleas it without incident they head to lobby
>>

This guy is smart

Then let's work our way together till we meet up then work as a team

Assuming that our saboteur is still in the facility, and that someone in tech had enough sense to lock the exit when word got to them that something in the stables was loose, there are only three places where the Saboteur could be: Control, Chem, The Lobby and the Server, or Catering, the Stable, and Demo.

Additionally, since we have already locked down the floor linking The Lobby and Server to the rest of the facility (Unless you can also access the Lobby via Catering, not clear), we can be assured that wherever the Saboteur is right now is where they will stay until the lockdown is lifted...

...

So the only question we need to ask is: where would a panicking saboteur be able to inflict the most damage? ( As of this moment, the Saboteur cannot move between department that are separated by {~~~} )

~~~
Lobby: They could steal our office supplies, and piss in the coffee machine...
Servers: They could try to remove the lockdown, erase any information pertaining to the saboteur's identity...
~~~

Control: They could assassinate James, which would probably cause us to fail the ritual...

~~~
Chem: Not much they could do here, provided we keep it sealed off from the rest of the facility. There are probably lots of nasty concoctions in Chem, but they won't mean shit if the Saboteur can't distribute them to vital areas...
~~~

Catering: They could have a snack?

Stable: The Saboteur decides to release an incorporeal creature, or they just table flip and open everything they can...

Demo: The Explosives are contained in a secure vault, if the Saboteur can retrieve some potent ones they might conceivably be able to break through our secure perimeter. However, this would make them easy to track down...

~~~
I recommend, that we advise James to prepare himself for a potential assassination attempt, and move to secure the Lobby and the Servers, the possibility of a saboteur getting into tech an taking down our security measure is too dangerous to be ignored...
>>
>>1057404
I think our priority now is not the saboteur, as we don't even know if he is in the facility the sabotage probably had already been done before we moved in the facility, we have to kill the loose moster before it does any more damage,
we just got ou of chem and control, we keep both of those on lock down, and head to catering while the team at demo sweeps it.
the team at exit secures it and the team at server sweeps server
Mhm...
How much damage the creature could do is dependent on how close it is to being sapient, and since we don't know anything about the creature aside from [Is probably not incorporeal] and [Capable of catching alert operatives off guard], we should treat this as a worse possible case scenario and run a threat assessment...
Worst case scenario if it is stuck in the Demo, Stables, Catering side of the facility is that the creature is intelligent enough, to unlock the stables (assuming that isn't a function controlled entirely by tech), if we have our troops at Demo bunker down in or around the vault we shouldn't have to worry much about an intelligent creature getting its hands on explosives and breaching the security doors, or slaughtering the Demo staff if it is unintelligent...
Worse case if it is in the other half of the facility is that it is intelligent enough to take control of Tech, in which case it can blackout the facility, lock and unlock segments of the facility at will, and use tech to conpromise the ritual or remove our ability to influence the ritual use it...
If it isn't intelligent then being in the servers might not be awful, but it could still conceivably knock them out, especially if our operatives spot it in there are start unloading into the machinery...
...
I'm voting that we go secure the Servers first...
Wow, this post is a mess...
Sleep deprivation is derailing my train of thought, and my ability to string sentences together...
...
Anyway, the thrust of my argument was that we should treat the creature as a hostile, intelligent agent until proven otherwise...
If the creature is merely a slathering beast then worse case scenario is that it butchers critical staff in a department (Tech or Demo), consequently knocking out our ability to call on that service during the ritual (Which, don't get me wrong, would be really bad)...
If the creature demonstrates intelligence on par with, or exceeding, human beings then we're in serious trouble, especially if it can take control of Tech.
From that single department the creature could cause catastrophic disaster on top of catastrophic disaster on top of catastrophic disaster, things like site-wide blackouts, doors locking and unlocking, ventilation systems shutting down, more creatures being let out of the stables, or the ritual being compromised...
Have a wagon.
>>
>>1057714
*gasp* Star that is hardly a dilapidated wagon you have there, that right there appears to be a 18th Century Conestoga Wagon you got there, a fine example of German-American craftsmanship with a 6 ton carrying capacity, limited amphibious options and enough space to get you, your wife and all your litt'uns from here clear to the Oregon Territories. I will not hear any bad words about such an outstanding model.
