THE GALAXY IS IN TURMOIL!

After the battle over the Forest Moon of Endor, chaos still reigns in a galaxy recovering from the chains of the GALACTIC EMPIRE!

Striking from MANDALORE, the warrior clans march in a new uprising, led by the legendary BOBA FETT!

The NEW REPUBLIC, formerly the REBEL ALLIANCE, struggles to rebuild their former territory!

In the shadows of the UNKNOWN REGIONS, the brilliant GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN gathers the strength of the IMPERIAL REMNANT!

It is in these times that fortunes may be made, empires may be built, and fates may be spun.

You are ADMIRAL JANUS CAIN, commander of a small warfleet, currently in Dest Mossiot, conversing with the governor on war plans...

On the Gambit, you receive a report...

All mines have been layed. An asteroid field has been moved to restrict enemy movement and provide cover for our ships. The 3 Hypervelocity guns on Carida are aligned, and one is being repositioned into the artificial asteroid field. All ships are positioned on high alert. There are:

8 Imperial Class Star Destroyers, 3 of which are Imperial-II variant

26 Victory-II class Star Destroyers

You stand on the bridge of the Gambit, a plethora of holograms giving you total situational awareness of the battlespace. TIEs hang motionless in the asteroid field, waiting for the mines to activate. Out the porthole, you see one of the Imperial-IIs - the Retiarius - make some adjustments with its massive octuple barbette.

The comms officer speaks: "Sir, incoming transmission from the Torpid Tarpit!"

The Interdictor's captain shimmers into being before you.

"Admiral Cain, this is Captain Seris of the Tarpit," she says. "Hyperspace signatures detected on approach. ETA 30 seconds."

Thanks to wizardry from Dissent, I have the sum of your rolls: 1681. Enough to beat the Rebel fleet. I've also learned a lot about how 4chan's systems work, and I'm adjusting the gameplay mechanics to be more streamlined and story focused.

The fleets slam into one another like two thunderstorms. Turbolasers gleam and blaze in the void of space. TIEs race outside your viewports, cutting apart enemy bombers. The Interdictor is using its gravity wells as weapons, hurling asteroids and leftover mines at the ships. You see an Acclamator slam itself into one of the MC80s, taking both of them out of the fray. The Gambit's guns blaze near constantly, her veteran gunners picking the screener ships out of the fray with ease.

Clattering detonations come from all around, and you see two, three ISDs go down to enemy fire. Tartans race through the fray, their lasers raking apart fighters.

Copypasting planet information so people don't actually have to go search it themselfs.

Geonosis was the inhospitable desert home planet of the Geonosians. It was the Confederacy of Independent Systems' first capital and hosted its major battle droid foundries.
The planet was sterilized by the Empire as a security measure, nearly exterminating the native Geonosian population.
>Population???
>Former population 100 billion

Hypori was a planet located in the Ferra sector of the Outer Rim Territories notable for being a heavy battle droid producer during the Clone Wars
>primary terrain Rocky landscapes and Small oceans
>Population None
>Formerly: 1 Geonosian hive

Rodia was a remote swampy, jungle planet and the homeworld of the Rodians. Cities on Rodia were encased with domed environmental shields that allowed entry and exit for vehicles and vessels.
>Population low?
>Affiliation Imperial?
>Importing food

Utapau was a remote planet in the Outer Rim Territories' Utapau system that was filled with enormous sinkholes. Its native inhabitants were the Pau'ans and the Utai, while tribes of Amani also immigrated to the world.
>primary terrain Desert plains, large sinkholes
>Population 95 million
>Affiliation Confederacy of Independent Systems

Ord Janon was originally an Ordnance/Regional Depot. It was taken over by the Separatists and used as a base during the Clone Wars until liberated by the Galactic Republic.

Ord Radama, once a world of marshes and wetlands, became coated with cities and streets over the years. The planet was the homeworld of the Devlikk species. It was located in the Radama Void.
>population 1.5 billion
62% Humans
28% Devlikks
10% Other
>Affiliation Imperial

Phaeda was an Outer Rim Territories planet, with two rocky moons. Of little strategic or commercial importance, its Imperial garrison was corrupt, and so the planet provided haven for many smugglers, thieves and other fringers. This led to diverse species finding a home on the planet, in addition to the many Human inhabitants.
>Some major cities
>Affiliation Imperial

Geonosis maybe then. least as a starting point

I like the look of this Ord Radama planet. A place with some civilization and imperial roots seems like a good starting point for our new empire.

I agree in that and also vote for Ord Ramama.
Although it can be tricky to make the garrison to actually join our side, atleast the people and soldiers under our command are welcome there.

So, there should not be troubles housing and feeding the people, unlike at most of other planets.

Geonosis and Hypori could give us mass production planets at some point however.
>>
>>1064271

>>
>>1064346
Why did we call ourselves the Sunrise in the first place if we're not going to stick to it?
>>
>>1064379
>tfw the status of a sun being present is not dependent on the cloud cover of a planet

If you want to be this autistic, as long as we are in a system that has a star, we are still "The Empire of the Rising Sun" which, honestly is a terrible name. But I don't have anything better so I can't complain.

It's the same as the empire on which the sun never sets. That didn't mean the sun stayed locked in the sky over Britain, it just meant they were so big there was always sunshine somewhere in their territories. There will always be a sun somewhere in our Empire, so we will always be the empire of the rising sun and goddammit that is a mouthful, we should have went with a shorter name.

Can we ask our Mom and Ex for a better name?

Geonosis was the agreed evacuation point. It's uninhabited at this time, close to a trade route (but not on one), within Hutt controlled space (who we are currently friendly with), close to an Imperial Garrison (Ryloth) and a strong Imperial Ally (Rodia).
Most of the infrastructure of Geonosis would still be in place as it was primarily subterranean, so a surface bombardment wouldn't have disturbed much, we just need to get some hydroponic facilities up and running for food and refit the factories for current munitions and ships. Maybe set up some comet mining for water supplies if they start running low and definitely need to get a few early warning/interdiction outposts going.
>>
>>1064439
This
>>
>>1064439
Backing this. We are also relatively close to Hypori too. Send a small expeditionary force to recon any droid foundries. If I remember correctly Christophsis has mineral wealth we could exploit for some fast cash.
>>
Let's go to Geonosis then.
>>
>>1064439
Genosis does not have the ability to support the population we are bringing in though. Little to no fresh water, the main food source for the previous genosians were some disgusting mealworm, no viable growing areas.
It's a planet for labor that depends on teh outside for food and supplies unless you're a genosian yourself.
We go there and we'll have an internal rebellion on our hands not to long after.
>>
>>1064487

>>1064439
>...we just need to get some hydroponic facilities up and running for food...
It was kind of an important step in the plan, along with refitting/repurposing the manufacturing facilities.
>>
>>1064498
Not to mention potential trade deals with the Hutts (food and raw materials in exchange for battle droids).
>>
>>1064487
Exactly.

We should go to either Rodia or Ryloth to start.

We can send one team to begin terraforming Geonosis using comets to increase the surface water supply.

Phaeda. Phaeda sounds good right now. Imperial affiliated, though you've heard bad things about the corruption there. You'll just have to whip them into shape.

"Mortician, c'mon," you say.

"Sir yes sir."

Now, how are you going to do this? You could train with the actual sabers, but that would run the risk of killing someone. Or you could train with the standard practice weapons, although those aren't the same as a real saber.

You wake, feeling refreshed and rested. You check your current telemetry - you're about halfway to Phaeda, in the Anobis system. You remember that there's a civil war going on here, between the Rebel aligned farmers and the Imperial aligned miners. The Orbital space is mostly clear. A few freighters, some cruise liners. The pitifully sized Imperial patrol joins up with you almost instantly. [+2 Tartan Cruisers, +1 Victory-II]

A civil war is a hotbed of opportunity. Plus, this world is incredibly valuable as a food source and source of materials for factories.

You ask the garrison officers what they think of the conflict below.

"Well, the miners rely on off-world shipments of food and other necessities, so they enjoy strong militaries keeping trade lanes open. However, the farmers are self-sufficient, and dislike any off-world authority controlling their society. So, the miners are Imp-aligned, and the farmers are Reb scum."

"Time to end this war."

You contact the leaders of both factions.

Tyss Brete, the leader of the miners, is a former Imperial soldier. He settled down on Anobis for a quiet retirement - something interrupted by the civil war.

Jess Tenner is a former farm girl who grabbed a gun one day and hasn't stopped fighting since. She fights for individuality and freedom.

"It is good to see a friendly Imperial face once more! I had thought they'd give up on us, now that the Empire is shattered," says Brete.

"Well, I had hoped to never see an Impy again," spits Jess. Her drawling accent contrasts sharply with her counterpart's crisp, clear Imperial lilt.

That first question you know the answer to - the Imperial governor effectively enforces taxation laws on the ground, and keeps peace in the orbital space. He only has a platoon (100) Stormtroopers, so there isn't much he can do on the ground besides protect key Imperial holdings from serious damage.

"So, what sparked the war? I want to hear it from both sides. Tenner, you first."

"Down here in the valleys and plains, we get along just fine off our own hard work. We don't need nothin' but what we can get from the land. We don't take nothin' from the Empire, so why should we pay taxes? Meanwhile, these miner boys sit up in the mountains, lettin' their machines break rocks for 'em, eatin' food brought here on special ships, and somehow they get tax /breaks/? So, when the Alliance came a'callin', we jumped at the chance for freedom! And the miners had the audacity to try and take away our choice! They reported everybody who tried to sneak off to join the Alliance - got 'em executed. I lost my pa that way," she says, her fury dying out a bit at the last sentence.

Brete clears his throat.

"We miners are loyal, /hardworking/ Imperial citizens," he says, with what you assume is a glare at Tenner. "We supply ore, hundreds of tons of it, for the Imperial infrastructure and ships that bring us our food. While it may be true that the farmers take nothing but protection, law enforcement, and healthcare from the Empire, they also give nothing back, ever since the Rebellion came proselytizing. Now, all they 'give' to us are bombs and sabotaged machines."

You ponder for a moment.

"Before we go any further, I'd like to hear your opinions on who fired the first shot."

Tenner says: "They started this war by getting our people killed by the Empire, for 'treason.'"

Brete says: "They planted a bomb in one of our droids, and set it off in the maintenance bay. It took twelve lives, and half of our mining droids."

"I would like to know how the former imperial governor enforced the tax, both on the Miners and on the Farmers. What did they do to you to get the Imperial tax?"

Tenner: "Sent us messages every so often with a number. If you didn't pay, you got two more messages, then a knock on the door from some Stormtroopers, and thrown in debtor's prison. An average amount was about 12% of a year's earnings."

Brete: "Personal visits from a tax officer, or when he couldn't make it, a protocol droid. Average was about 4%."

Propose that the miners be taxed 7%, and the farmers 10%. Use some of this extra revenue to bolster the garrison.

Given how lucrative mining is compared to farming, I could see the miners earning three times as much, meaning that the governor wasn't taxing based on a flat rate based on income, but a flat number irregardless of income.
>>

How long was the stay in debtor's prison, were there work camps? How many were executed before the bombing?
>Get the Governor in on the discussion
"Governor, an important question for you. The world you are in charge of is in civil war, by taxes you were obligated to enforce. Many others of your position would have just bombed the farmers from space with the few military ships they had. Why didn't you?"

How much do the farmers make a year on average, compared to how much the miners do?

Furthermore, do these 'letters' come with the official seal of the Imperial Tax Office? If the Governor is skimming, taking the money directly without involving the tax office would be the easiest way to do it, less of a paper trail.

And
>>1069169

>>1069169
You key the governor into the call.

"Hello, Grand Admiral Cain," he says. He's a relatively young man for the position he's in - only 36.

"Governor Meskid, an important question for you. The world you are in charge of is in civil war, over taxes you were obligated to enforce. Why didn't you put a stop to this war with the admittedly limited power at your disposal?"

"You admit my power is limited - this is true. I have so few troops, I could barely afford the 20 to guard the spaceport on the ground. I regret the taxes, but the Moff of this sector decided those, not me. My job is a glorified police chief's."
>>1069181
"In solid cash, we farmers make about 4, 5 thousand a year. Most of our wealth is rooted in our crops." She giggles a little at her pun.

"The miners make about 23,000 per person, but our system is clan-based - the clans, individually, average about 1,068,000."

"Would a tax reduction on the farmers and an increase on the miners lessen tensions?"

Tenner: "The farmers would be delighted to have a break on taxes. How much?"

"2 percentage points."

She scoffs. "4 would be better."

Brete: "How much of an increase?"

"3 percentage points."

"Well, it isn't much more... the clans may be amicable."

Then that's our angle. The Emperor is dead. Vader is dead. The New Republic is full of squabbling alien species with different cultures and different minds. They'll self-destruct, and it will be spectacular. Thrawn cares nothing for people, only for results.

What we can offer them is stability. Keep the food coming, and we'll put taxes into improving their quality of life and their farming equipment. More importantly, we will ensure that, if they foreswear the New Republic and proclaim their loyalty to the Empire, we'll keep them safe.

However, this isn't an offer. We CANNOT have civil wars within our new territory. They can take it, or we can kill them and import some more loyal farmers from Carida.
>>
"So, you don't head the clans?"

"Haha, no. I represent them, and I'm head of their security forces, but I can't make decisions for them. I'm the only one in the clans who's ever been off of Anobis."

You eye Jess suspiciously. "You have actual authority, though?"

"Well..." she looks sheepish. "No, not really. Again, I'm just the head of the combatants. We have a total democracy system in the valleys."

You sigh.

"Alright, bring this proposal to your actual leaders: we use some of the taxes to subsidize the farmers to improve revenue, thus improving overall tax revenue."

"Wait, why is the Empire getting involved in this now?" Jess asks.
