You are the former United States Navy warship USS HOEL, now returned as a shipgirl and ready to kick Abyssal ass!

Currently, you, Portland, San Fran, Dorsetshire, Graf Spee, Yamato, White Plains, and Kidd were venturing into the flooded subway tunnels snaking underneath Singapore, in an effort to get at the ominous Abyssal Spire erected in the center of the city.

However, a combination of water damage and lack of power meant none of the lights were working, so the interior was completely pitch black. Thankfully, STRIKE-1 had provided you all with thermal goggles to provide some sort of visual guidance, and you all had your own search radars to rely on in low visibility anyways.

Unfortunately, even with the fancy high tech goggles, your vision was reduced to a grainy black and white image that barely extended a few feet in front of you. Obviously, you and Kidd were taking point, while the larger shipgirls were directly behind with STRIKE-1 and a Marine force taking up the rear.

"Scheisse, it's so dark down here and these goggles do nothing!" Graf Spee mutters. "Perhaps we should switch to radar."

"I'm not sure." Dorsetshire mutters. "The Abyssals have to know about these tunnels. There's a very real possibility of booby traps."

"All the better to smoke them out then, yes?" Spee counters.

"Nyahaha! The greatest pirates of the sea aren't afraid of a little dark!" Kidd boasts as she swings her cutlass around haphazardly. You can almost swear you see Pepe shaking its head.

"Hey! What's the holdup up there!" Red shouts from the back. "You think it's bad now, but wait till you see a platoon of bored leathernecks!"

"You're on point, it's your call." Portland sighs. "We'll back you up whatever you choose."

"All right, I'll give it a few pings." You nod as you activate your search radar. Immediately, you start getting returns as the radar waves bounce off the tunnel walls, columns, and any sort of obstacle. Fortunately, it seems like despite the flooding and the battle above, the tunnels were largely intact, and it was practically a straight shot to the Spire from here.

Unfortunately, you also detect movement. LOTS of movement that wasn't there a second ago, all converging on you.

It wasn't just one contact, or a few, or a dozen.

HUNDREDS. Streaming though the main tunnel like a tidal wave of skittering insects. It looks like you've quite literally stirred up the hornet's nest.

"Oh fuck." You pale.

Shit! You needed to lead these bastards away from the main group! There was too many for even their firepower to handle.

"Loads of bad guys incoming!" You warn as you turn to your right. One good thing that came out of your radar sweep was that you were able to map out a bunch of smaller side tunnels and maintenance accesses you could use to lead the Abyssals on a merry chase.

"Wait, I'm comin' with ye!" Kidd barks. "Can't let one of me crew going off on her own!"

"No, stick with the others! Get them through the tunnel!" You yell at Kidd before you boost into the side tunnel. You figure those damn things were homing in on your radar pings, so you keep sending them out, drawing them ever closer to you.

However, the fuckers were fast, and there were a lot of them. Even if you could keep ahead of the ones immediately behind you, they were so spread out over the subway network that you could already see other groups moving in to cut you off. Like wolves after a deer.

Well, deer didn't have guns, at the very least. You keep moving forward towards a curve in the tunnel. Your radar is already telling you that there's to contacts just around the bend, so your guns are already up and aimed the second you clear it.

And that's when you see what's been chasing you.

There like larger, more vicious versions of the Abyssal mines you had encountered earlier. A central body shaped like an eyeless, grinning skull, with tentacles protruding all around it. However, these ones also had six insect-like legs to allow them to skitter around at high speed. You couldn't discern any kind of optics through the blurred filter of your thermal sights, so you guess that these things were specifically built patrol the unlit tunnels, reacting to sounds and vibrations.

Like your radar.

Well, at least that meant their attention would solely be focused on you, as you casually shoot down both tunnel crawlers, your 5-inch guns popping them like oily balloons.

However, this wasn't solving the metric fuckton more of them bearing down behind you. Already, you could hear the skittering of thousands of legs and the stench of their horrid breath swept down the tunnel like a humid tropical wind. You had to lose these guys somehow.

You consult your radar-imaged map, and you could discern that there was a nearby subway station close enough to the surface that you could probably get a radio signal out, and possibly call in some good old fashioned air support to come down and bury the fuckers.

Your radar was also letting you know there was a section of tunnel near the coast where the walls were already structurally weak. One good cannon shell or depth charge could send in tons of water that would wash the tunnel crawlers out like ants down a drain.

You veer towards the nearest subway station, all the while trying to raise anybody on the radio.

"Hey! Anybody out there! Can anyone hear me?!" You yell.

"Hoel?" Anna's voice crackles, distorted heavily by interference but still audible.

"ANNA!" You sigh with relief. "Anna, I need you to get the biggest fucking bombers you can and tell them to drop everything they got on the subway station I'm headed for!"

"W-w-whaaaat?!" Anna yelps.

"Just do it! No time to explain!" You yell. Your radar starts pinging like crazy as the tunnel crawlers begin closing in on you.

"A-all right! I'm rerouting a flight of B-2s! They're armed with MOPs so you have to be REALLY-"

"Okay thanks, I'll call back later!" You shut off the radio and blitz past the subway station and continue down the tunnel. Just a few dozen meters down was a little alcove leading to a maintenance shaft that you could take cover in. You finally shut off your radar so the tunnel crawlers couldn't pinpoint your location anymore and hunker down under a table.

Hopefully you'd be clear enough to avoid the blast...

You can't see what's happening, but you can definitely feel it when the the entire maintenance shaft rocks and rumbles like a goddamn earthquake. Thick concrete walls crack dangerously from the sheer shock, and you swear you can feel the heat of the blast leaking through those cracks. Fortunately though, the maintenance tunnel holds, and everything goes deathly quiet.

Carefully, you venture back into the main tunnel, and wince in agony as sunlight blinds your thermal sight. You tear it off your face and you can see the sun, somewhat obscured by the smoky sky. The entire tunnel ceiling was just completely gone.

Another thing that was completely gone was the entire damn subway station too. Of the tunnel crawlers, you couldn't see any sign of them. Completely vaporized, you assume?

That's when you're interrupted by the screech of a pair of Singaporean F-15s as they fly overhead launching missiles at the Spire. Indeed, the Spire was now being bombarded by long range artillery and missiles as the Allied forces closed in.

"Hoel? Can you hear me? Hoel!" Anna cries.

"I'm okay, Anna." You assure her. "Those flyboys did a hell of a job."

"Oh thank goodness!" Anna sighs in relief. "You really scared me when you didn't answer back!"

"Sorry about that." You apologize.

"A-anyways, the rest of your group has made it to the surface and they're advancing to the base of the Spire!" Anna updates you. "But the Abyssal units are falling back and trying to surround them!"

"Yeah, well, I'm not far." You note as you measure your distance to the Spire. Already you could see flashes of gunfire, the evidence of a major battle. "I'll think of something."

"G-good luck!"

You hop back into the tunnel entrance, which thankfully was still relatively intact and not completely caved in. Considering that most of the tunnel crawlers had been obliterated by the airstrike, you can afford to blaze through at full speed without attracting any attention. You head for the designated exit point and emerge to find a scene of chaos.

Yamato was at the head of a sort of triangle formation pointing towards the Abyssal force, the the spire at her back. Portland, San Fran, Graf Spee, and Dorsetshire held the sides, while White Plains and Kidd were in the center to avoid the worst of the Abyssal fire.

Meanwhile, it appeared that STRIKE-1 was planting charges at the base of the spire, no doubt to try and breach the outer skin so they could get inside. The Marines were up on the line with the other ships, providing what fire support they could.

"Ah! Hoel! You made it!" Yamato says casually as an incoming shell deflects off her 'frontal armor.'

"About time!" Portland grunts as her 8-inch guns fire off of volley, scattering a cluster of Abyssal crawlers. "We need you put that datalink to work! We're going to be overwhelmed at this rate!"

"What do you need me to hit?" You ask, your optics darting around.

"Anything!" San Fran yells back as a battleship shell lands a handful of meters from her, causing her to flinch from the shrapnel being flung into her face.

You quickly get the measure of the conflict. There were AA guns on the rooftops of the surrounding buildings preventing air support from assisting. However, you could also determine that there was a unit of Abyssal battleships bombarding your position with indirect fire. It was too accurate right now, but you knew they'd correct after every volley. Finally, the Spire itself loomed above you. You were getting a strange, cold feeling emanating at the very top...

"On it!" You nod as you activate your datalink.

Instantly, your view leaps up to a UAV loitering above the city, high above the effective gun range of the Abyssal AA net. Immediately, you pinpoint the largest clusters of AA guns, each one glowing a bright red. With your targets designated, you immediately begin the hunt for any assets that could eliminate them.

"H-here, Hoel!" Anna says helpfully and you see two bright lights flare up, catching your attention. One was over one of those newfangled, angular ships, erm, the Zumwalt, was it? And another was hovering over a big ass submarine tagged as Ohio. As your gaze falls over them, you're instantly updated with their capabilities. The Zumwalt was armed with a pair of 155mm guns. While they didn't have the punch of a good old 16-incher, they were apparently precise as fuck, which would work for you. The Ohio, meanwhile, was loaded down with Tomahawk missiles, each one eager and waiting to see action.

It only takes a single thought to relay the target information to both ships. There's a brief few seconds of delay as both ships verify your request, which feels like an eternity in datalink time, but finally you're rewarded with seeing a dozen Tomahawks blasting out of the water while the Zumwalt started traversing its cannons...

And you watch as every Tomahawk dives down on their targets, wiping out clusters of AA guns and clearing out the rooftops. The Zumwalt also begins opening up with its long range cannons, raining shells down on other AA batteries with equal precision, spraying explosive shrapnel into them and effectively knocking them out.

And that's the moment the Marines were waiting for. Once the guns are down, a fleet of Chinooks, Hueys, and Cobras rush in, spitting rockets and gunfire in all directions as they bypass the Abyssal defensive lines. All along the way, they're closely escorted by squadrons of Hellcats and the occasional Crusader to ward away what was left of the Abyssal air power. Almost immediately, the Abyssals begin to disperse or reposition in light of this new threat, and the artillery bombardment on your position immediately ceases.

"You did it!" Yamato snatches you up in an iron gripped hug.

"That was some rather precise shelling." Dorsetshire nods, impressed.

"You yellowbellies finished yet?" Kidd yells at Section.

"Last thermite charge set." Section nods. "Hit it."

Red hits the trigger, and there's a bright flare of orange light as thermite charges begin cutting through the wall of the Spire with pure heat, melting straight through the thick carapace.

And that's when an earthquake strikes. Everybody is knocked on their ass as the ground rumbles and shakes. You look up to see the Spire breaking apart-

No, the spire was coming to life.

You manage to leap into the breach with your enhanced speed, but unfortunately, not many of your fellows do, either because they were too large and heavy or simply didn't have enough reaction time. You look out the breach in surprise as it starts rising UP in a circular motion. Then you see a massive snake head above and that's when you realize it.

The Spire wasn't a building, it was a CREATURE. A giant snake-like thing coiled around a central structure.

Motherfucking Abyssals.

"It's... gigantic!" You hear Portland gasp.

"Ya made it, Sweet Pea?" You glance at her in surprise, staring out of the breach as well. "Damn, I'm surprised!"

"What's that?" Portland raises an eyebrow.

"Being a heavy cruiser and all- OW!" You wince as Portland flicks your forehead.

"Ya surprised to see me?" Kidd chortles.

"No, not really." You shake your head.

Kidd pouts in response.

So... it looked like just the three of you managed to make it in. You're all jolted as the entire creature vibrates. Weapon impacts from cannons, guns, and missiles were raining down on it. You quickly datalink back to the UAV, and you can see practically every Allied asset concentrating their fire on the massive, skysraper sized snake. However, its armor was THICK, and it appeared to be shrugging off everything being thrown at it.

And that's when the innumerable guns and cannons built into its skin open up, savaging any helicopters and planes that ventured too close, and raining artillery fire down on the city itself in random spreads. Immediately, you could hear panicked screams and shouts over the radio as units panicked and routed.

"Hoel." The Captain's voice cuts into you clear as day. "Are you on the Spire?"

"Um, yeah!" You nod as you struggle to maintain your balance.

"You need to reach the head of that creature and take out the Princess. Mulberry theorizes she's the one controlling that... thing."

Wonderful.

"You guys can't do anything?" You ask.

"We can't get near it. We can provide long range fire support, but we can't penetrate that armor."

"I think I can find some weakness." You say as you power up your radar.

"I don't have to remind you that you're inside the very thing that we'll be shooting at." The Captain reminds you.

"All right, let's climb!" You point upwards. As you, Portland, and Kidd make the trek up the length of the Spire Snake's body, you're already pinging the massive creature with your radar, trying to look for weak points.

The Spire Snake for sure had thick armor. Thicker than any battleship you had ever seen, but its biggest weakness was that in order for it to move, some of that armor had to be segmented, thin so it could bend and stretch along with the Spire Snake's body.

And combined with your datalink, it was a simple matter to start routing ordnance to hit those specific, precise parts. You look across the fleet. Hundreds of ships, each one carrying hundreds of missiles. Hundreds of planes in the air as well, each carrying their ow payloads. The possibilities were just as daunting as they were numerous...

You know Anna had advised against this, but you start spreading your awareness out farther and farther. Not to just the Zumwalt and the Ohio, but to every goddamn ship and plane within a thousand miles of Singapore. Lights, flares, lines of code and data begin to flood your vision as your mind attempts to take in the sheer amount of data being generated and processed every second...

But thankfully, there's no repeat where your brain overloads from the stress. Instead, you can feel Anna's presence as well, doing her own part in coordinating all of the various ships and air groups to lighten your workload.

Missiles launch from their tubes. Bombs are drop from pylons. The entire might of five combined navies is hurled directly at the Spire Snake. But this wasn't any normal mass bombardment. Every individual missile and smart bomb had its own specific point to hit, each individually guided to its destination by either you or Anna, red lines of code indicating their flight paths.

And the effects are devastating. Missiles and bombs of all kinds, SM-2, Tomahawk, LRASM, SDB, JDAM, hit their designated points with devastating precision. The Spire Snake trembles and roars as massive chunks of its armor and flesh are ripped out. Geysers of oilblood spill out into the streets below, staining the water and concrete as the massive beast thrashes in pain and agony. As a result, it throws you, Portland, and Kidd around as well, but you three manage to hold yourselves steady.

The Spire Snake wasn't dead, far from it, but it was vulnerable now. Deep gouges of burnt and bleeding flesh now pockmarked its body, leaving it open to harassing fire from the smaller helicopters and ground vehicles to exploit.

"Heads up, Hoel." The Captain's voice buzzes. "It looks like Vahlen has finally given the green light to deploy Pacifica."

"What? Really?" You blink.

"She's being sent in to engage the Princess." The Captains sighs. "Unfortunately, I've also been given to orders to have you pull back, so that the Science Division can 'more accurately measure her capabilities.'"

Typical. Now that it looked like the battle was in the bag, Vahlen was going to send in Pacifica to steal the glory.

"What, that's bullshit!" You snap.

"Which is why I'm going to pretend comms were knocked out by that bombardment." The Captain grunts. "I'll leave things to you."

And then the transmission cuts out.

"We keep going." You say to Portland and Kidd. "Can't very well leave a fellow shipgirl to fight a Princess alone, right?"

"We've come too far to turn back now." Portland nods and adjusts her glasses.

"This be a proper boarding action, after all!" Kidd nods in agreement.

You keep heading up through the winding cavity underneath the Spire Snake's armor, oddly finding no opposition in your way. Finally, you, Portland, and Kidd reach the "head" of the Spire Snake. Something like a bridge or command center. However, the black steel dome that once covered it from the sky had been blown open by a missile, exposing the entire room to the open air. Up above, you could see a Blackhawk hovering just over the breach, and a single person leaps out.

"Hi hiiiii~!" Pacifica giggles as she casually floats down to the ground, held aloft by her very own miniature F-35s. "I think we were supposed to fight a boss monster here?"

"Yeah, something like that." You nod.

"Well, where is it, then?" Pacifica looks around, her short hair swishing as she does so.

"I think that's them." Portland points.

Sure enough, you see a blast door retract, and a large, elegant looking Abyssal strides, or more accurately, is carried in, riding her own damn Rig. She was a far cry from other Princess you had seen, wearing a big summer hat and sundress, with an umbrella on top. She looked oddly... casual.

However, she wasn't alone, either. Flanking her on either side were two familiar faces: the CL and DD Princess. You could tell that they weren't quite fully repaired, but both were glowing an ominous red light that was somehow as chilling as the cold blue eyes of the Summer Princess. However, the trio don't move, at least not immediately.

"I see our two daughters have decided to return to us~." The Summer Princess giggles.

"D-daughters?" Pacifica blinks.

"They're just trying to mess with your head, Paz." You mutter to her. "Don't listen to them."

"You're so very rude, Hoel." The Summer Princess tuts. "You'll need to learn some manners."

And then her gaze falls upon Portland, a wry smile on her face.

"Perhaps we should capture this one and cut her up in front of you. Just like we did to her sister~!"

"I see." Portland adjusts her glasses again, the glare now shrouding her eyes completely from your sight. "So it was you, then..."

Shit, the longer the Summer Princess was talking the more she was riling up your buddies! You needed to act fast!

You let her speak anything else. You raise your gun and fire, drilling 5-inch shells directly in to her. However, being a Princess, she had tough armor, and she's able to absorb the shots, but you achieve your aims in interrupting the conversation.

"Kidd! Get the destroyer! Sweet Pea! The cruiser!" You quickly start barking orders to keep up the momentum.

"Yaaaaaar!" Kidd yells as she charges in.

Portland pauses, but urged on by your confidence, she relents and veers off towards the CL Princess.

"How about me?" Pacifica asks over the datalink.

"Back up Portland, I got this!" You instruct Pacifica.

"Okay!" Pacifica nods. "Switching to cruiser mode!"

And you look on in surprise as you watch Paz's Rig warp and change, like in those goddamn Transformer movies. Mechanical bits and parts rapidly shift and rearrange themselves, adding on 8-inch guns and VLS tubes as she skates over to Portland's position.

Just what the fuck was she?!

"Facing me alone? How unwise of you." The Summer Princess chuckles, not even bothering to move or maneuver. She just casually waits, lounging on that Rig of hers.

"Oh believe me, I've taken out a Princess or two before." You retort.

"Not like me.." The Summer Princess' eyes flash a menacing blue...
