/qst/ - Quests

Well killer servos, traitor acquaintances, and daemons oh my. You have successfully managed to foil the said daemon's plan with the help of Drauge but you still have a major problem.

That being the actual demon in the fucking room who looks so man it may actually start spitting fire at you. though you probably should not you yell at the top of your lungs "JUST AS PLANNED"

at the least now the daemon is not going to throw you and the entire ship into the warp without protection.

Welcome to guardsman quest

After yelling "just as planned" at the top of your lungs you begin unloading on the demon infront of you, to no effect the damned thing just pulled up that shield from earlier on Markal's room but it's stronger here "FOOLISH MORTAL MERE BULLETS CANNOT HARM ME UNDER THIS"

You continue to unload with the rest of your crew until it truly becomes apparent that bolts are not going to work on this asshead you look at Drauge "Any ideas?"

"Well we can keep him here while you go to the Inquisitor's living space and retrieve any holy relics there..... or I could seal the bridge and vent it."

you and the daemon both blink and say at the same time "you can do that?"

"yes, my good sir I can."

>[1] "hold him here, I'll go after the relics"

This is a potential life saving/risking feature.

Before opening it back up we should run to the relic room, and grab some gear. Ask Drauge to watch the bulkhead until we get back.

"Everyone out of the room Drauge seal the doors, lets send this fucker into space" as you say this the daemon's eyes bulge

"WAIT NO! YOU CAN'T! THIS WAS NOT PART OF THIS TIMELINE!" you fire several more bolts at the demon forcing him to keep his shield up and remain immobile.

Not even listening to him you and everyone with you rush out of the room Drauge hooks himself up with one of the control panels and a few seconds later you hear him exhale "Well I pity the daemon a bit, I hear reentry is painful to experience."

You open the Vox channel "Alright crew, the demon has been dealt with all that is left is clean up of the servitors and the cultists, I want a full sweep of this ship. Leave no one unaccounted for and watch your backs, I don't want you dieing after the main threat was dealt with."

You breath a sigh of relief, weird daemon thing removed without too much trouble, a small but well armed crew around you and all honesty it would take more than thirty cultists to get though the barricaded door at the med bay. Only one person is moving around and has yet to give you an ok Mirasi. "ok people you are to remain here and guard the bridge, if that thing tries to get back on the ship load him with enough bolts and lasers to make up for eighty percent of his current mass."

Drauge turns toward you, though his voice remains mostly monotone you can sense the self satisfaction in his voice "are you going to head down there alone?"

"ya, we need someone like you who can talk to the machine spirit and keep it calm. Did the daemon hurt it too bad?"

"well I'm sad to say that the machine spirit is quite distraught, I will remain here to keep it calm though I will do my best to assist you from here."

with that you turn around and begin sprinting down the halls, as you approach the living quarters you note that there are quite a few robed bodies laying around but also some other people that were part of Mirasi's squad also lay there dead.

You look at the bodies and note that not just one but at least three of the people are just playing dead "get up or I'm putting a bolt in your balls." you cock your bolter to ensure they knew you were not kidding.

One of the pretenders, a cultist by the garb, jumps up holding his arm "wait, wait, wait don't shoot I'm not like these other cultists I'll tell you anything."

"Ok where did the sister of battle go." you ask him before shooting the other two cultists who were pretending to be dead "you understand if I do not like your answer you will end up like them."

he squeaks "Down the hall, they took a right after, I don't know anything else. I was just trying to get out of there, I never wanted to summon a daemon I was roped into it by the others. Please spare me!"

You point your bolter at his head, "You are coming with me."

"But sir!" the cultist responds physically frightened.

"No buts you helped make this mess you are coming with me to fix it. now move before you rethink what I'm going to do with you." with that you grab the cultist and begin marching him infront of you down the hall.... good thing too several murder-servos came out but paused before attacking, seems these things are programmed not to attack if you look like a cultists, interesting information. as you march your unwilling shield down the hall the sounds of bolter fire and chainswords gets louder.... and you also hear Thera's voice spitting curses and Mirasi responding with even more insults.

You wait a bit and you notice that the sound is actually getting closer, and so is the sounds of battle. You quickly position your meatshield in the most advantageous position you can and wait.

The door ahead opens and several cultists pour through one of them looks up and see you and your meatshield "Mark?" is all he can say before you unload a bolt into the bastard's head.

Bolt after bolt is ejected from your gun and injected into incoming cultists, Mark the meatshield begins crying and pisses himself in fear as a bolter is unloaded close to his head but he does not move. either out of fear or resolution he does not budge an inch as you fire.

Eventually the cultists stop running though the door and Mirasi walks in, holding Thera's unconcious head "did not expect backup, thanks."

"why did you leave her alive?" you ask looking at Thera

"she knew you, though you should get some input on how to deal with her."

You look at your old squad mate "we don't have time to deal with her right now, we need to get rid of the cultists quickly." remember priorities revenge and questions can come after you have dealt with the crazies.

"right," Mirasi states then throws the limp girl to one of her men "tie her down a gag her, if you see any weird shit around her when she wakes up kill her." she looks up "so who is your new friend?"

"you mean living shield, I think one of the cultists called him Mark. He seems to have been dragged into this unwillingly but I'm still not sure."

"S-sir I-I don't intend to get in your way at all. Please don't kill me." Mark wimpers

"eh tie him up, if he tries to escape bolt him" Mirasi orders her team who quickly grab the man and tie him up.

"Alright, ok people I want no one let in or out of this place we are going to find each and every cultists in here and give them a taste of the emperor's fury." she looks back at you "so what do we do with that sorry idiot?" she points at Mark

"Tie his arms up and strap a explosive to his back, use him as a meat shield. About all he is useful for."

"B-but..." Mark starts before Mirasi grabs him and quickly ties his arm.

Alright time to go but where too.

You turn back down the hall, better check is Valirsa and Markal. you walk down the hallways, by the emperor you are getting exhausted and really running will just make this worse. as you arrive at the door you note that though the door looks like someone tried to get in but failed. You knock "its me"

you hear some shuffling and then a groan before the door is opened. "so did you get rid of what every was causing this mess?" Valirsa greets you with this question holding her side, she had bandaged the wound up a bit more though a medic should still have a look at it.

"How is Markal?" you ask

".......... sleeping..... Ok I can't lie it's bad, he lost a lot of blood and I had to remove the leg. Honestly I don't know if he will make it." Valirsa states her eyes cast down "If only I had not gotten injured I could have helped him. I should have been more vigilant."

You wait a bit before saying "Well next time do better. Markal is a strong man, something like blood loss probably wont kill him." Valirsa steps to the side and lets you in. You walk up to where Markal is and you wish you had not.

When you brought him here you did not get a good look at his wounds but now boy did they look bad. First off the leg, Valirsa had cut it off but still not a nice thing to look at. His face well if you could call it a face was missing most of its skin, hell you can see bone in some places and his left eye was completely gouged out. the rest of his body was burned, cut, and in some places melted from the looks of it. By the emperor this man refused to tell the daemon anything even with this much torture is amazing.

You hear shuffling behind you and you turn around and standing there is a short hospitaller "excuse me, are you injured?"

"um.... no but i was..." you start before the Hospitaller cuts you off

"then get out."

"wait wai."

"GET. OUT." she grabs your arm and throws you out of the room.

You shake your head, welp they never said Hospitallers had to be nice. Anyways shrugging off the ever encroaching need to sleep you head up to the bridge to find Drauge. several minutes later you arrive on the bridge to see Drauge singing...... ok that is wierd. "Drauge?"

"Oh if it is not my good friend, were the cultists taken care of?"

"I have Mirasi taking care of it. so how goes it up here"

"ah the machine spirit has calmed down thanks to my melodic voice..... was there anything you wanted me to do?"

"Just keep the ship safe, also what about the demon?"

"still floating in space heading toward the planet below, don't worry I have already pointed a cannon on the thing and was just waiting for your command."

"you don't need to wait for my command to shoot a demon."

you yawn realizing it had been awake for over 48 hours you are surprised you did not pass out during all the fighting.... thanks adrenaline. Drauge notes your tiredness "Ah one of the many flaws of the flesh, a need for sleep. I had forgotten what it feels like to do so, no real loss for me though."

You excuse yourself and head to your room, you realize that your chest was still tingling, weird in the fighting you had ignored it but now that the adrenaline and the knowledge that death was not just around the corner you decide to check it out.

You get to your room and proceed to remove your shirt and put your gear down looking in a mirror.... wait I did not have a mirror before, looking closer you note a small tag "A gift" it reads but no one's name is on it, eh probably Valirsa or Mirasi. you stop focusing on where the mirror came from and look at the reflection of your chest..... ok that tattoo was not there before. right on your left breast lays a tattoo that looks like a mask one side smiling, the other crying. fuck I'll figure this out later. you think to yourself before heading to bed you lay down and fall asleep imminently.

You leave your room, quite aside from a non-murder servitor walking into a wall, may want to alert a techpriest to that. anyways aside from glitches like that it seems we managed to recover our old servitors thank the emperor.... really where were they anyways....

You manage to get back to the hallway where Mirasi had put guards to keep anyone from passing, they were still there. "so is it all clear yet?"

"Not yet sir, Mirasi is going through her seventeenth sweep to ensure that no cultist remains. permission to speak freely sir?"

"Granted." wow you could get use to being a leader

"I doubt that any cultist managed to survive the third sweep, the sister is going a bit overkill with how many she has done already."

"you can never be to sure."

"eh you can, plus what can one or two cultists do by his or her selves really."

you stare at him a bit, really though seventeen sweeps, not even commissars go that extreme. "any idea why she is so compulsive about this?"

"no clue," the other guard pipes up "she has been this way ever since she joined."

In case I pass out, the p;an is basically for Mirasi to finish this sweep, then act like we are satisfied and stop, then do another one out of the blue to try and catch any that are trying to sleep back into their sleeper positions. Mirasi might know something that we don't, so talk to her soon.

And of course ask what a "daymond" is.... When we are in the med bay.

you sigh, "Don't worry guys I have a way to satisfy her," you note that they are trying to not make a joke about that. "vox her to meet me in the med bay, there is something i want to talk to her about"

With that you leave and head to the med bay, upon getting there and opening the door the Hospitaller, stands there "are you injured?

"no im here to check on the injured"

"If you are not injured then you have no..." you push past her, you are done with this shit. You were the reason any of them survived. "HAY!"

"Valirsa how is Markal?"

"good, how did you get past the..." before she can complete her sentance the Hospitaller roars from behind you "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!"

"talking to the injured." you reply bluntly

the Hospitaller is silent for a few seconds "Valirsa do you know this man."

Valirsa sighs "Really first forty eight hours and you already are in the muck of it, alright a Daemon is a creature in the immaterium."

"the immawhatium?"

"a reality parallel to our own, its Ordo Malleus's job to put them down. also to put down those who bring them into this world."

"ok I'm lost"

"just think of them as extradimensional nids with a few nasty additions"

"so they eat you?"

"depends on the type."

"always like that, she is only nice if you have an injury."

"why?"

Any reason for the extra sweeps? Perhaps you know something I do not?

Then

The men are getting worm down in vigilance by the repetitive sweeps, we should try for a one very thorough knock out sweep, for any last stragglers. Finish your current sweep, then act satisfied and cease the sweeps. We wait a few days, and resume with one final large sweep and extremely vigilant and sweep with flamers and servitor suicide bombers, where no nook and cranny is left unturned, not even mice are safe. We will reward the most methodical and dutiful men go above and beyond their duty in the final sweep. we check every box, every container, every room, and vent, from the outside of the ship to the deepest its deepest belly. I will gather some men, and pt them to prepare them, and leave them in a state of readiness before we deploy them.

The men will be rewarded based on either cultists captured or how through they are.

ok deep breath "The men are getting worm down in vigilance by the repetitive sweeps, we should try for a one very thorough knock out sweep, for any last stragglers. "u-understood." Mirasi replies "damn you really are good at those long speeches."

"I try, now do you know where I can get some water, I'm parched. also what happened to Mark and Thera."

"Mark is acting as a guide to all the deep parts of the ship, Thera turned out to be a psyker and escaped through a portal. It explains how they summoned a daemon and why we only found a few dead cultists before we began killing them."

Thera was a psyker? why did she not just blast the door down. really she probably just is an idiot really. "ok Valirsa gave me a less than helpful description of what daemons are can you clarify?"

"did she call them Nids with a few nasty additions?"

"ya"

Mirasi breaths in "ok daemons are for the most part are just insane creatures from another dimension which is filled with just chaos. Now there are four types dependent on which god they follow, I have some books on the subject but for now I'll keep this simple. There are daemons of war who follow some blood god and are red, Daemons of pleasure who really don't do much except fuck with people's heads usually purple or pink, Daemons of secrets these fuckers are nasty blue with feathers is how you tell, also a weird need to yell 'just as planned', and lastly Daemons of rot and disease trust me you wont need a color to tell which ones are these the smell will tip you off."

you politely excuse yourself and head to the armory, a techpriest said that your weapon's machine spirit liked you and you intend to keep it that way.

Upon arriving at the armory you note that alot of the weapons have yet to be returned, and there are alot of angry techpriests. "[annoyance] these fleshbags do not know how long to properly take care of their weapons, they will anger the machine spirits"

"excuse me"

"[surprise] what is it."

"I was wondering if i could barrow some repare and cleaning supplies for my weapons." you hold out the bolter and point with your thumb at the sniper on your back

"[calm] very well, at least some meatbags know to take care of a weapon" the priest shuffles into the back and a few minutes later he comes back with some supplies

you walk over to a table and begin repairing your weapons. several minutes later you have cleaned and found and fixed several loose screws as well as repaired the damaged done by that trick you did earlier with the sniper.

after cleaning your weapon it becomes apparrent to you that you actually need to clean yourself, actually considering the only washing you have had in three days was not actually really washing you decide to head to your room and take a shower.

several minutes later you have gotten to your room and stripped.... wait why is your shower already running? you rush in only to see nothing... really just the shower is running and nothing else. weird actually really weird. You look around the room but again your search reveals nothing.

you tentatively step into the shower, well it was hot but not scalding hot, the good type of hot. as you stand there in the water you feel your muscles relax and all the sweat, dust, grime, and blood flow off of you. "ahhhhh" a sigh escapes your lips.

you leave the shower, a towel wrapped around your waist and walk into your room..... only to see the creepy clown from your dream sitting on your bed smiling at you. "hello again, glad to see you managed to survive your first encounter with a daemon."

"Well aside from enjoying the show of a daemon getting vented out of a ship then shot by one of your ship's cannons, well I advise you to not go to your current destination right away. If I were you I would go to the nearby craftworld, if I remember correctly it was name Parthosa."

"Why would I go the some Eldar craft world. They would shoot us on the spot."

"well normally yes they would but this one was abandoned and I want to know why. I am willing to give a Mon'keigh like you a fitting reward if you do this for me."

"What can a clown like you offer me, also you really should go to my commander, I'm just leading until he gets well enough to lead."

"Oh lets just leave the reward as a surprise for you, much more fun that way. Just think about my offer." with that the clown disappears with a flash of blinding light and where he was sitting is a dataslate.

"how bad?"

"well we can make it to the nearest imperial planet but we are also getting some odd signatures."

"for fucks sake, lets just go to the nearest planet and get this repaired"

"donno, can you work with the thing and figure it out."

Drauge takes the slate and plugs a wire into it "ah this slate has the position of a craftworld, not our business but I do know of a nearby planet that some Ordo Xenos recently landed, they would be pleased with this information."

Mirasi caughs to get your attention "and that is the planet we are going to for repairs, convenient isn't it."

"you suspect something?"

"ya its weird we have just enough fuel to get to that planet, if I were the cultists I would have just destroyed all the fuel tanks and be done with it."

Drauge comments "they probably intended to take the ship and use it to spread the corruption. destroying all the fuel would have consigned them to death."

"ok so who is officially in charge?" you ask Drauge and Mirasi. "I know I have been the de facto leader but all honesty I need to know who who is actually is charge."

"Well Markal never set someone as the second in command, he is lazy when it comes to paperwork really, so at this point since you decided to take command you are the current leader."

"so you are telling me Markal is really bad at his job?"

Drauge and Mirasi look at each other "kinda, he is good at dealing with daemons but everything else he shoves onto other people."

"what is his current status?"

"alive but unconcious, we already prepared replacements for what he lost but he wont wake up."

"ok just get us to the planet, maybe we get get this whole command structure figured out on the way."

They sucked at stealth, quickly you realize why Mirasi had them do so many sweeps, they could not keep quiet when they tried to sneak they would hit their weapons against their armor on accident, drag their feet, and overall make fools of themselves.

>>
>>1177541
Were not, we are do a inquisitorial investigation, on behalf of a friend, and we do have a inquisitor in training who is somewhat up and angry. We do the talking on planet side and she's technically in charge, who is giving us orders Down below, because *quote* "if she has to come down there herself, someone is getting burned alive" *unquote*.

We go down with a "retinue of our own, and borrow Valirsa's ][.
>>
probably the biggest grin you have had in a long time spreads across your face "Now Mirasi, I believe it is time to call a little inquisition on this governor, he is acting quite against the Imperium's interests by refusing to help us."

Mirasi stands there dumbfounded, "remind me never to get on your badside. Wait we need something to make sure that they truly believe we are being led by an inquisitor...... how is Valirsa."

shit "um.... she is down and out."

"great just grab her rosette and we are gold."

"Wait, wait, wait if I take that and we are caught we would be in deep shit. Can Drauge mimic Markal's voice?"

"Yes I can" you hear Markal's voice but when you spin around you see Drauge "How is it?" he says now mimicing Valirsa's voice

"perfect, Mirasi I want you and a squad with me when we go to 'investigate' also can you bring me some items to make us look... I donno... Inquisitorial?"

"sure, say fifteen minutes to get everything ready?"

"ya, that sounds good."

Fifteen minutes later you get dressed in some robes that Mirasi provides bearing the marks of the inquisition, it fits comfortably around your armor.

As you proceed into the planet's surface you are greeted by a man who you take as the planetary governor "What is the meaning of this?! I thought I was rather explicit that your Inquisition had to business here!"

>[1] "we are investigating a recent cultist attack, it happened on this sector and all leads pointed at this planet." (fel)
>[2] "please talk to Inquisitor Markal, I believe he can explain everything." (Drauge's fel)
>[3] Punch the planetary governor "You are under suspicion of heresy comply or we will be forced to declare you and your people heretics, we do not want to have to unleash another exterminatus." (Fel)
>[4] "we are the the retinue of Inquisitor in training Valerisa and we have come here to undertake an inquisitoral investigation with her remaining on the ship..... Why? because 'if she has to come down there herself, someone is getting burned alive' I hope you understand." (fel)

you look at the planetary governor with pruposly poorly concealed suspicion. "We or the ordo Malleus are investigating recent cultist activity and attacks in the sector. Some of the cultists mentioned a base on a nearby planet in theis sector."

"We have no cultists on this planet, I assure you now leave you have no business here!"

"Your lack of co-operation...... is unusual. Now governor your co-operation in this matter would be appreciated, I'm sure a honest Governor would have nothing to fear or hide from the inquisition..... right?" you let the first co-operation and the last inquisition drag and as you do so several troopers and Mirasi move their weapons into more opportune positions.

The governor sweets a little, he was under pressure. An inquisition appearing on his doorstep with no warning would surprise some but this man was acting like he had something to hide. "P-please I can assure you that there are no heretics on this planet, the planetary defense force is rather thorough with its sweeps, this is unnecessary."

"unfortunately Governor we are not inclined to believe you. we will see for ourselves, men hold the governor here while we continue our investigation." as you say this three of your men step out and grab the governor, the planetary guard he came with smartly did nothing to interfere.

"U-UNHAND ME, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY..."

"on the contrary Mr. Governor we do, and unless you comply you will be working against the imperium's interest and thus you will be a traitor." with that you and your men minus the three holding the now frantic governor leave towards....

Number 3 is damn tempting, but lets get the ship fixed up first. Isn't there another inquisition team with us?

currently you are the only team from your ship, maybe you can find the ordo xenos but they have no idea you are here.
>>
>>1178003
Well what are they doing here?

It may blow our cover to communicate with them, but to have 2 inquisition orders running around on planet with no co-ordination or communicating can cause problems, which we will probably lose since we are not exactly on the level. How powerful is their ship?

I do have a backup plan for any encounters that go south if we meet with them.

Start from the top, find the plants, don't raise the alarm. just go about as normal, then all at once at X time kick down every fucking door and search the place.

In the meantime get our ship to scan the surface and find the hidden tunnels this place certainly has.

Quarantine this place, no one leaves, you can enter sure...but i don't advise it. Any whom try to enter and leave observe through CCTV

The governor's place of residence, big, shiney, and really really overcompensating for something. "really the man lives in a mansion? while the people of his world live in the mud he lives here. what a fucking dick." you comment upon arriving at this place

"eh seen worse, there was this one planetary governor we had to deal with who had all his walls plated in gold." Mirasi responds before shooting the head off one of the statues, "really he is lucky we did not execute him on the spot."

you open a secture vox channel with Drauge "Inquisitor, is this a secure channel."

"yes, we can drop the facade Simun." Drauge responds with his normal voice "what is it you need?"

"I want you to set up surveillance on the planet, I want to know any and all calls, ships, or people who leave and enter the port. Also if you can can you scan the planet for tunnels, I don't want to miss something right under our feet."

"It will take a bit but it will be done."

with that you hang up the vox and enter the mansion, and boy if you though the outside was compensating for something the inside was an entirely new beast. Ornate chainswords, custom lasguns, a power hammer, power fist, and more lined the walls all neatly displayed on oak weapon mounts to show the governor's wealth. You hear Mirasi caugh "ok I'm checking this man's personal logs, there is no way he could have afforded all this."

you signal your men to begin investigating the building, the thirty seven men split into teams of three except one who stays with you and Mirasi and begin sweeping the place.

You head to the governor's office and immediately upon entry you rush to his desk and begin sifting through the dataslates there. most were encripted while the few that you could access showed some rather interesting reports, it seems this planetary governor had refused to help several inquisitors and he had ordered them isolated in the ports until they left, you note an Inquisitor Devlik of the ordo xenos was still on the planet.

>[1] attempt to contact the other inquisitor, two inquisitors are better than one

You open up the vox channel, "Drauge, I have several dataslates that state that there are Ordo Xenos on this planet. Can you confirm?"

"Yes Simun, I have gotten into their systems far enough to find the inquisitors. Would you like me to patch you through to them."

"Alert them first, I don't want to spook them." after stateing this there is a few moments of static before a response.

"Hello this is Inquisitor Devlik, who is this?"

"Guardsman Simun, I'm part of Inquisitor Markal's retinue, I'm contacting you as I have found rather strange reports in the Governor's office that state they purposely have isolated you in the port."

"I thought so, thank you for the conformation, now is there anything else you would like to tell me?"

"We also came across a dataslate with the location of an eldar craftworld."

"A WHAT!" the inquisitor roars into the vox making your ears ring "Sorry I did not mean to shout. Well....... give me a few seconds." after he says this you hear some squeaks though the vox "alright my techpriests have secured this channel, now I am going to tell you the reason we are here. remember this is strictly confidential."

"Understood Inquisitor."

"My crew came here on reports that there was a genestealer cult forming on this planet. I know this has nothing to do with the ordo Malleus but we would appreciate your assistance in this matter, the governor's actions have been highly disturbing."

"Inquisitor Devlik I must confer with my inquisitor to plan our coarse of action but I believe that we will be able to come to your aid, Emperor protects."

"Emperor, protects." with that the vox disconnects. Interesting information, potential genestealer cult.

after the call disconnects you head into the hall, you look up and down and decide to grab one of the custom bolters as well as a strange wrist weapon, after a few tests it seems to create a blade made out of some strange energy, useful. you also pickup a interesting scope for your sniper, seems to see in infrared and some other vision you don't even know what to call. you note Mirasi grabbing the powerfist and the guardsman with you picking up the hammer, wait this was the guardsman you set running around the ship, seems he took that lesson to heart, you cant even hear his footsteps now.

you turn towards Mirasi "you know any way to get all our men back here quickly?"

she gives a bit of a smile and says "Cover your ears?" you quickly slam both hands to your ears as she screams "MAGGOTS GET YOUR ASSES BACK HERE!" ouch even with your ears covered that hurt.

as the men get back to your position you check each one for any odd marks or puncutre wounds, you find none. you then task Mirasi to connecting all the information the men had gathered and sum it up for yourself

durring the inspection you do note that the men had taken items from the mansion, most just weapons but some had grabbed things like armor, and silverware. Eh the planetary governor was an ass, he deserves to take a punch to the wallet.

you vox up Drauge "Drauge mind decrypting some dataslates?"

"Yes and I should be able to strip the information off of them, is there are termanal that you can access?"

"ya what do you want me to do?"

"there should be a wire that allows you to connect dataslates." after several missteps much to Drauge's annoyance you manage to get the data to Drauge "well....... this is interesting."

"what is interesting?"

"It seems that Mr. Governor has some right to be afraid of us, he was taking some advice from an interesting source, to put it in more terms you can understand. Heresy."

"Heresy?"

"Heresy." Drauge responds dead serious, "The genestealer cult most likely is a red herring from these reports probably easier to have inquisitors here looking for the wrong thing than to have actual inquisitors trained to find what is really going on, seems we should get in contact with the psychopaths of the inquisition... I mean the Ordo Hereticus."

You physically shake your head, calling ordo hereticus would probably make a bigger mess of things. Especially with their habit of destroying planets because someone masturbated with barbed wire and that was heretical for some reason. "No Drauge I don't want to cause a planet to be destroyed because some," you clear your throat to make sure he got the sarcasm "honorable members of the inquisition deemed it necessary. But tell the Ordo Xenos that we have found information elaborating that there is no genestealer cult, also send them our eldar data and ask for their assistance."

"Right since we are not getting the 'honorable members' of the inquisition in on this may as well use who we can." Drauge disconnects the call.

"so," Mirasi begins "are we going to question that governor?"

"Does Ordo Hereticus like burning things?"

"Ok, the troops aside from the normal found some chaos marks deeper in the mansion, also they found a sealed door, seems to be protected by something, they tried the old fashion way of just blowing the thing apart and it did not work."

you quickly signal the troops to leave the mansion and about two hours later you have pulled the planetary governor into one of the interrogation chambers, also the Hospitaller for some reason has decided to come with you. "why are you here?"

"I part time as a torturer," you give her a rather surprised look "Hay I keep that here, I take no pleasure in hurting people unlike some brutes"

"Y-YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO HOLD ME HERE, I WANT TO SPEAK WITH YOUR INQUISITOR!" right the governor time for some torture

I feel like I should mention that in regards to what part of the inquisition these guys were originally at the beginning of the quest and how actually the Ordo hereticus would get their shit kicked in if they tried to exterminatus.

Originally you said that the inquisitor that our PM is placed under was a part of an Ordo that keeps an eye on other inquisitors.

This would make them Ordo Excorium who make sure nobody tries to call in an Exterminatus without having a good reason for it first.

Then you made them Ordo Malleus, while personally I could care less about the change this leads into my next bit.

The hereticus would really get their shit kicked in if they tried to exterminatus the planet and actually they do get their asses kicked since official statistics state that , over 90% of Inquisitors who declared a single Exterminatus were stripped of their rank and declared heretics for this exact reason.

Though I'm sure our PC wouldn't know that but it's something to keep in mind for those who would know.

The Hospitaller begins her work, unfortunately this governor seems to be made of sterner stuff than what she was used to. "YOU CALL THIS PAINFUL? THIS IS LIKE AN AFTERNOON NAP FOR ME!" even injecting chemicals to cause the feeling of burning alive did not affect this man.

Seeing this you realize either this man is immune to pain or values keeping you in the dark more than his life. this interrogation is getting you nowhere so you signal the Hospitaller to stop. Both you and her leave the room "I apologize, failing at my job is rather humiliating."

"I doubt I could have done any better, guess we are not getting information this way."

"shall I keep working on him."

"well aren't we the sadistic one?"

the Hospitaller gives you a dead glare "I don't like to leave half jobs."

"Torture will get us nowhere, just leave him in here. maybe isolation will break him, tell Drauge to keep an eye on him to see if leaving him alone does anything."

"Alright." with that she leaves and you are left with a decision on how to tackle this problem.

If we still have a chance, headpat Valirsa while she sleeps. We need to get the headpat count up.
>>
you quickly excuse yourself from the room and head to the bridge, hopefully not a lot of civilians saw your face when you went out in inquisitor mode.

about twenty minutes later you get to the bridge the Hospitaller is no where to be seen so you assume she got the message "Drauge do you have servalance of me and the group that I lead on the surface?"

"why yes, Have I mentioned you look quite dashing in those robes?"

"not now Drauge, I need to know how many civilians saw me."

"well the planet media is abuzz about an throne agent who had just arrived."

SHIIIIIIIT! was the only response you had in your head "ok well do you know any way I can blend in?"

"there is a way.... its just not exactly comfortable."

"what?" you ask skeptically

"ever heard of Polymorphine?"

"no and I thought you were a Mechanicus not a chemist."

"Look its a drug that can make you look different, though the trasformation is rather painful for males and its not perfect either."

"do I have a choice?"

"unless you can convince everyone that its coincidental that you and the 'throne agent' look exactly the same then no."

>[1] Alright get the crap prepped for me, if I'm going to infiltrate I may as well give myself the best chance I can get
>[2] sounds dangerous and painful, also I have never heard of that crap so no I'm not using it just find another way please.
(next place to go)
>[3] get the costume, you need to look the part or your going nowhere fast
>[4] call Ordo Xenos, get the professional heresy finders on the way here

(special vote choose one or two then choose where you want to go)

>other, Ask Drauge what negative side effects there would be for me, and if any of them are permanent.

Also ask about side effects

alright writing

No worries.
>>
You look Drauge in the eye.... eyes.... glowing lights he calls eyes. "are there any side effects?"

"none that I know of aside from excruciating pain."

"like what kind of pain?"

"like breaking bones, except your entire body.... and then multiplied that by five. Do not worry dear friend we wont let you die from it."

With that comforting statement you decide if you are going to infiltrate you better do it all the way. "Drauge prep the stuff, but remember if some of the changes become permanent I will have your ass."

that reminds you, you need to make a call. excusing yourself you activate the ships long range comms. You quickly find a nearby Ordo Hereticus ship, The Baleful Command, and open contact "hello this is Simun of the Ordo Malleus calling for the Ordo Hereticus, please respond."

A smooth male voice responds through the comms "This is Inquisitor Zevrin of Ordo Hereticus, we hear you loud and clear. What is the reason for this call?"

"we have found traces of heresy on Sagnitus-7 and request your assistance."

"ah, good we will be arriving in 72 hours, we thank you for your assistance here. Please give your Inquisitor my regards, The Emperor protects."

"Emperor Protects" with that you end the call with the ordo, now then onto getting that costume ready. you quickly head to your room to...... shit all you have are military uniforms. where on this ship can you find normal clothing for this planet.

>[1] head to the medbay maybe the Hospitaller has some tucked away somewhere
>[2] raid Valirsa's room, she might have something you can wear.
>[3] go to Drauge, he seems to sometimes have what you need.
>[4] Write-in.

>[4] Write-in.
Trade in a few days of rations worth with some of the lower deck members of the ship, get something workable, mix and match if you have to. Ask Drauge to send you a picture of what some of the locals look like.

Maybe they have some seamstresses onboard?
>>
>>1198458
How many military uniforms do we have?

I figure its guardsmen armour, and penal regiment clothes. Maybe we are fancy and have a BDU/CDU.
>>
for wardrobe options we have penal legion brown..... and that is about it
>>
>>1198558
>4 penal regiment clothes, wow that's generous of them!
