"You know, I'm glad you're making an effort to acquire new friends. However, be warned that this ship can only handle so many passengers. Also, by ship I totally don't me myself, though my inherent programming requires me to inform you of a soft limit in the "patience" parameter within my core algorithms.""No need to be jealous, GLaDOS" you reply nonchalantly. The vibrations of the engines thrum through the ship's metallic hull as you look through the flashing streaks of hyperspace outside the cockpit window. You're taking the Corellian Run, a historic and well-established hyperspace route, to the edges of the Outer Rim where Ryloth, Tatooine, Rodia, and -off the beaten path somewhat- Excarga. You'd been on the route for more than a few hours by now, and probably passed Corellia itself a while ago. You'd been concerned after Dae, the fiery Twi'lek padawan and your latest boss, had revealed the nature of your assignment on Excarga. Apparently, it could potentially be the location of a new Crystal Cave -making it also the site for one of those Jedi Temples. You...don't know too much about the Jedi or their religion. Their adherents have a Temple on Coruscant and their faith is not only sanctioned, but fully encouraged by the Republic. You, like most others, only know them by the stories, the urban mythos passed from person to person until whatever kernels of truth they may once have contained have morphed into legends of miracles, saints, and the supernatural. And that girl back in the cabin sure doesn't come across as a saint of any kind. But, there was the alien, the Jedi Master back on Coruscant. You remember the strange actions of the nurse at the hospital when the Jedi, Vandar, had simply waved his hand. Maybe the stories are true? Maybe they're just a load of bantha fodder? Either way, you have better questions to ask now, mainly about your job. Still...>Head back into the cabin to see Dae. You hardly know her, and left for a while to get your thoughts straight. >You want to stay here and ask GLaDOS about her opinion on your newest crewmember. >Check the navicomputer for details of your ETA, as well as the galactic sector in question you are arriving in. >Check the last news you recieved on the Republic Comms. ************Welcome to Old Republic Surveyor Quest. You are Krall Sivron, a Nautolan Surveyor working for the Old Republic in the era just prior to the Mandolorian Wars. As of the last thread, you awoke and, in a confrontation with Jedi Master Vandar, discovered the beginnings of a plot to frame you for the terrorist bombing at the Diplomatic Embassies. Before leaving though, you stopped to pick up some weapons and had a brief encounter with an intimidating stranger. On reaching your ship, you learned of two separate attempts to steal your ship from GLaDOS and discovered a stowaway, Dae Volya, who ended up being a jedi padawan...and your boss for the contract you took. We rejoin our protagonist in the wake of this act of terror. Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/Xbtud8qRQM Twitter: @TheRedL4dy************

>"Crystals Are a Girl's Best Friend"Intelligence reports the discovery of a new crystalline mineral in the snows of the Outer Rim planet of Hoth. Bounty hunter and part-time surveyor Savior Danner lead her crack team of researchers unveiled the newly dubbed "Permafrost Crystal" earlier today to scientists at the Corellian Institute of Geology and Planetary Sciences. According to experts, the crystal-like mineral exhibits strange properties, including a nearly permanent endothermic state of equilibrium. The crystal, resembling a sort of never-melting ice, is permanently cold to the touch. Unconfirmed rumors from the surveying team itself suggest that the Jedi Order has expressed interest in their discovery. "Just another W to add to the list, nothing special," Danner expressed when asked for comment. >"Wet Work"Republic atmospheric and meteorological data from Ryloth suggests the planet is currently experiencing the wettest year in the past century. Ryloth, having a normally moderate, varied climate, has suffered significantly elevated recorded instances of flash flooding and mudslides over the past annum. Ecological effect have yet to be fully documented, but speculatory research has indicated some changes in several of the planet's ecosystems. Public sentiment is varied, but worries over changing adaptionary behaviors of the planet's larger fauna, particularly the Lylek, dominate the public consciousness aside from flooding concerns. Research regarding the source of this climate anomaly are ongoing.

When we get out of hyperspace and call up that tiny jedi to tell him about some evidence we have we can point him toward our nemeses as well.
You usually just go to your pet projects, a bit of handiwork here and there, nothing special. But if the AI upgrade to your ship was any indication, recently you've gotten ambitious. Still frustrated as you amble down the passage to the rest of the ship's cabin, you hardly notice the green twi'lek girl sitting in the cargo hold. Moving over the the compact right side of the ship, you open the closest storage compartment and a chaotic pile of various parts, components, and circuits tumble out. The bright idea had come one day out of nowhere...Why not build your own droid? Now, you decide, is the best time to start. You have the energy, the motivation, and the time...so what's there to lose? You grab the hydrospanner and begin. One part connects here, another hydraulic joint there, several circuits to be wired here...Lost in the task, time flies by with abandon. Before long, a recognizable frame has formed on the ground in front of you. Not only do you have a sizable base to start from, but you feel as though you've gained valuable insight into the inner mechanisms of droids and their individual components! There's a hand on your shoulder. "Didn't realize you were such a gearhead," Dae muses loudly as she inspects your messy craftwork. There's a pause as you think of what to say next, but the twi'lek girl sighs before you do."Look...I'm sorry. We got off to a bad start, and I know it's my fault. I just jump into things without thinking sometimes. My masters say I should learn to "suppress my emotions" more. I mean, we didn't even properly introduce ourselves!" Dae chuckles ruefully. The whole Jedi cult...it sounds pretty strict? Suppressing emotions? Sometimes emotions feel shitty, sure...you know that right now more than most people. You just have to learn how to cope with the good and the bad. Learning how to manage that is a basic part of...well, not just being an adult but life in general. But suppress them? How much tension and stress...and dissatisfaction...You wipe your greased palms on your shirt as you rise to talk to her. "You're fine, Dae. Don't feel like you have suppress anything with me. By the maker, I've had some bad days too. Some...more recent than others. But if I started to ignore and bottle them up, nothing would ever get better. Just...don't make 'mad' your default response, okay?"Dae's brow furrows in deep though for a moment, before the words hesitatingly slip out of her mouth one-by-one. "I...okay. I think. It's...Master Vandar always said emotions were the path to evil. As a jedi, I need to be above these things. I trust him. But, thank you for your insight. As a jedi...as a padawan I should avoid such strong passions though. It's just going to be a little harder for me, you know?"She shuffles her feet as the awkward silence passes a bit between you. "Let's start over. I'm Krall S-""You totally deserved it thou-"You both burst out laughing at the sudden exchange. She's stubborn, and laughably so. You've seen kids with more recompense. She's the type to push forward and finish what she started no matter what, for no other reason than it being what she wanted in the first place. It's not a bad quality."Krall Sivron," you offer your hand to the Jedi. She looks down on it and for a moment you think she's seriously considering whether or not to accept it. But, she catches your eye and can barely stifle the laugh that follows. "Daesha Volya," she nods in teasing approval as she takes your hand. "So," she announces, "where's our destination anyway? You think for a moment on how to solve this tricky issue. Jedi are supposed to br some kind of guardians, right? "Dae," you entreat, "could you accompany me down to Ryloth? I'm just a surveyor, not really a fighter. If I run into anyone particularly nasty, it'd be comforting to know I have someone like you with me."She looks surprised for a moment. Then, Dae almost visibly reinflates with her characteristic, bombastic sense of duty. "...I- Of course! Jedi are protectors of the weak, like you!""Oh, Thanks," you sullenly note to yourself."I...I'm just doing it as my responsibility though. It's not for you or anything," she quickly tacks on. Ignoring her last defensive jab, you get a bright idea. Much to Dae's confusion, you duck into the cockpit for a brief moment and come back. You hand the Twi'lek girl the rectangular, metallic device- newly refurbished- and instruct her in the comlink's use. This way, you'll be able to keep in contact with each other even if separated (although it comes at the cost of not keeping GLaDOS on dial)! Speaking of which, "Dae, if you need to settle some things here, feel free to go do just that. We can stay in touch even if you do."She holds the device gingerly for a moment. "Krall, I-"As much as I enjoy regularly interrupting your happy moments, it seems I'm actually required to do so at this time. It takes the fun out of it, if you ask me."(1/2)
Dae gives a panicked yelp on hearing the electronic, feminine monotone of GLaDOS for the first time. Barely stopping herself from jumping, she instead bumps into the HoloCom behind her and nearly falls over, looking for the source of the voice. "Oh, no...not another genius. I hope this one isn't as computationally gifted as you, Krall. Does she at least know she's on a spaceship, or did you convince her to board the shiny flying box with a trail of bread crumbs up the boarding ramp? Regardless, we're arriving at Ryloth shortly. Specifically...now."With a lurch, you recognize the ship has exited hyperspace. Oh man, this is one of the best parts. You take Dae's hand and run up the hallway to the cockpit, ignoring everything else. There, it greets you like a jewel in the black sands of space."Ryloth."

It's pouring rain out there, you doubt you'd be able to see more than thirty feet in front of you. "Docking complete. Releasing boarding ramp now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BShDTWecbaIYou take a fleeting look out the docking ramp to see the furious downpour outside. The rain doesn't actually bother you, in fact your skin was just feeling dehydrated at the moment. You have lungs, but your skin remarkably acts as a second respiratory organ of sorts. Dry skin can be a (figurative) killer and uncomfortable, comparable to bronchitis in humans. As a Nautolan, your amphibious nature allows you to live in most environments. For example, here in the rain you've never felt more comfortable; the weather is quite literally like a breath of fresh air, as you can absorb spare oxygen from the rain dripping down across your body. You eye the Jedi next to you and see she doesn't exactly share your enthusiasm about the "good" weather. You grab an extra poncho from the storage and offer it to her, which she gratefully accepts. "So, where do you want to go, Dae," you ask nonchalantly. You just have to meet with your boss, but the hard part of getting to Ryloth is over and you can take your time. Dae thinks for a moment."I don't remember much about this place, you know? I think my family lived somewhere in this region...but all I remember about this city is a reaaaally large plaza in the middle of it. It's the heart of the city. For now, I'd like to go there and see if it still looks like I remember it."With that you nod and start out into the rainy starport and the city beyond.Roll 1d100 for happenings. You waltz down the winding muddy streets of the mountain capital. Even in the rain, the bright rainbow colored masses of Twi'leks shine through. In many ways, it's like a living mosaic: blues, greens, yellows, the occassional pink, and the rare red blending together in the surprisingly lively crowds. Yet, you're not so blinded by the pace and colors of the citylife to not notice the casualties of the choatic climate of recent times. In the corners of the street, in the creases between stonework buildings, and even in plain sight on the sides of the road you see roadworn and threadbare twi'leks. Their bright skins are patterned with splashes of mud and debris under their dismal, shabby attempts at shelter from the ruthless storm. These are the victims of the seemingly endless rains of late, their homes gutted with water and lives swept away with the floods. Their abysmal conditions, passed by and acknowledged like nothing more than trash left in the street, leave you to think they may be representative of an even larger, more subtle problem. Their sad eyes trail on you, a particularly unfamiliar alien species in these regions, as you pass them by in the streets with a beautiful green woman of their own kind. What are they thinking when they look at you? Should it even be your place to care? Dae fidgets next to you, and you see she has a particularly forlorn expression on seeing this. "P-Please, good outsider, spare a few credits?" An old, blue twi'lek woman wheezes from the nearby alleyway. You note just how close you were to not noticing the beggar like the other people in the crowd. Granted, the alley she rests just inside is particularly blurry in the background rain. You hardly could spot it with this crowd, let alone see farther inside. Dae even seems preoccupied in some thought and walks ahead, herself oblivious to the quiet request. >Oblige the beggar, give her some credits>Oblige the beggar, but on the condition she gives you information in exchange>Pretend you didn't hear the woman and continue on with the unaware Dae. >Write in

You tread through the thin ligament of crowd separating you from the old woman. "I have some credits to spare, if you could provide me with some information." The old woman's eyes widen with surprise at her fortune, and you can tell that by all means she didn't expect you to listen to her. She nods vigorously at your proposal. "I-I'll provide anything I can, kind sir. I've only been here for so long, though. I lost my home to the floods to the south.""I'm looking for someone, another alien you may not see often. Zeltron? May be wearing a Republic uniform? He's probably flitting around the place with women and men in tow?"The old woman, confused, shakes her head slowly. Well, looks like you'll have to find your boss the hard way then. May just need to check the bars. "Why are you being kept in the streets like this? Why haven't there been shelters taking in people or something?""There are shelters, stranger. But, they're all full and nobody is building any more despite more people coming to Lesssu everyday. The politicians all say the storms are temporary, but there are whispers that they may go on forever like this. People are getting angry, angry at the Republic for not helping Ryloth in times like these. It seems like the rest of the galaxy only cares about continuing business as usual and the credits that come with it, no matter how many of us are losing our lives."Not the best news. You're starting to see how things can look so divided, both grim and carefree at the same time. The old lady hesitates a bit, looking around before continuing further. "Some...some people are really angry...too angry, if you ask me. They're starting to get violent, attacking foreigners and stealing from people who still profit in times like these. Be careful, stranger. You don't deserve to get caught up in that."You nod grimly. This may need to be reported to your superiors, but with what you heard...could they already know how bad things are down here? You don't have too many other questions you can think of, but one pops up when you start considering heavily. "Hey, know where someone can find some spice around here?"The woman eyes you carefully, scrutinizing you harder than before. "I try not to get involved in that business. You trying to buy or sell?">You want to buy.>You're looking to smuggle.>You don't see any reason not to try and make a business out of it.

>>1176595"Actually, nevermind. This was a bad idea." You admonish yourself, shaking your head in self-disgust. What were you thinking? You hardly just finished remembering the last time someone you knew got mixed up in spice. This isn't about to be a repeat. You thank the woman quietly, giving her 50 credits as promised. Wait, where's Dae?>>1176595You look back and forth in the crowd, weaving between the colorful shapes in search of your companion. "DAE!" you begin to call out anxiously. Only murmors and worried looks from the strange faces in the crowd greet your efforts, until...You catch sight of the particular, rich shade of green you're searching for. A red twi'lek man with a particularly humorless expression seems to have stopped her against the wall of one of the houses up ahead. He seems to be gesturing aggressively as she shakes her head hard enough that you're worried it may fall off. Suddenly, he catches sight of you approaching, gives Dae a sordid glance, and turns to disappear into the moving streams of people and rain. "Hey, Dae, what was that about?" You glare wearily at the spot where the seedy looking man had melding into the rest of the passerby. He seemed just about as disgruntled as the beggar, but much more aggressive. Dae shakes her head, "He kept asking me if I was...you slave. If you had enslaved me." She blinks several times, trying to process it all. "He kept telling me I didn't have to worry, that they'd been keeping an eye on people...like "you". He said they could help me, free me... I could help them and Ryloth in turn. I'm glad he didn't realize he was talking to a Jedi."(1/2)
>>1177167>Well I mean, If you're into that shit, Sure. You can be my slave. I wasn't aware this was running.
You see the opportunity. "Well I mean, if you're into that shit, sure. You can be my slave."Dae blinks in silence for a moment, then open-palm slaps you across the face with a mortified glare. "I-Idiot! Like I'd ever give you the chance! Some random guy tries to convince me to run away with him, and you crack a joke about it?! Maybe I should've just agreed!!"You apologize profusely until the angry Twi'lek has breathed out all the fire she has for you. Once she's calmed down enough to even let you speak again, you tell Dae everything that happened with the beggar. She blinks her eyes wide in surprise. "Hmph, and you even paid her? I guess not many people would've even given that woman the time of day. But then again, most people aren't absolute pervs either! That was...nice of you though, Krall; I expected worse."[Influence Lost: Dae][Influence Gained: Dae]"More importantly," you interrupt the brief window of respite, "I think there's more than we've realized going on here. Back! Writing now!
The boss is guaranteed to be in a cantina somewhere in this city. He never did really fit in with the more sober, business oriented areas of everyday life. In fact, you'll most likely hear whatever cantina he's in before you see it. Now, to get some directions...As if almost on cue, a rather blantantly intoxicated twi'lek stumbles into the open streets and faceplants into the muddy road. Well, looks like you found a local favorite at least. You make way towards the literal hole-in-the-rocky- wall of the mountain your unconscious friend took a reprieve from. Immediately on approching the overhanging stone arch, the pungent, sweet, acidic odor of Juma Juice wafts up the descending stairs and smacks you square in the face. It's certainly not hygenic and you can't hear any commotion from outside, but that definitely fits the bill on quantity of beverages expected from your missing Zetron boss. As you consider just how badly you're going to need to wash your hands after going in the establishment, you notice Dae is a bit quiet. She's still in the rain a bit behind you, her face painted in the traslucent neon colors of the Cantina sign she's practically dissecting with her eyes. She looks confused. "Something wrong?" You call back to the girl in the rain. She turns to you, doe-eyed. "Krall, what's a Cant-Ina?"What's a...what? "You mean a Cantina?" Dae just shrugs, then shudders with disgust as the stench of Juma finally hits her as well. "Sith's Spice! What in the galaxy is that smell?!" She coughs as she frantically waves her hand to clear the smell from the air. She...hasn't seen a bar before? She doesn't know what alcohol is, either? You...>Tease Dae about this.>Laugh at how sheltered she is. >Show her just what she's missed out on.>Just bring her up to date. No need to make a big deal out of it. >Let her wait outside. "Oh," you start, barely hiding your smirk, "the Cant-Ina is actually the place where people meet to make fun of sheltered Jedi for not knowing what a Cantina is."Dae nods sheepishly, not catching the sarcasm in your explanation whatsoever. "Oh, okay. Krall, you won't tell them I'm a Jedi then, right? ...Please?"She's a real piece of work, isn't she? You can't help but sigh. If she's this sheltered about something as common as alcohol and cantinas, you're not sure how much you're going to have to teach Dae about the real world. What happened to the whole "omnipotent, omniscient Jedi" you heard about?"You really haven't lived anywhere outside that Temple for your life, hunh?""I have too!"Even as she glares back at you with her hands on her hips, her normally resolute gaze wavers. She's a terrible liar. "C'mon inside, let's just grab one drink while we look." Even though she's crossing her arms stubbornly as she follows, you get the feeling she's grateful for the fact you didn't laugh at her. (1/2)
As you enter the wide lounge of the cantina from the descending stairs, the cantina's live music finally hits your ears. Hey...that's pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwBWaRzGK54A warm body bumps into your arm amid the alien patrons and stays practically planted there as you walk. Several snappish rounds later, you and the patron stop for a moment to simply breathe. That last round was riveting towards the end, with your comeback happening from almost out of nowhere. Leaving with a single net win from the set, the Ithorian thanks you for your time in broken Basic. "Match very good, play fair. Thanks you, much player better than pazaak in Octagon. No go there."The Octagon? You try to casually ask the alien further about what the place is, but he only shakes his hands apologetically and makes various motions that you recognize as being some kind of directions. With a traditional farewell, he cuts his losses and heads to the bar. [Gained: 50 Credits]A Devaronian ambles towards the table when you feel a tapping on your shoulder. You look up to see a heavily engaged Dae practically hovering over your shoulder. "Krall, why'd you stop? It was just getting interesting!""I can't force people to keep playing, Dae. You don't even need the sensing tendrils on your head to know how annoyed the alien is when you ask him to leave. But, he leaves without a fight, probably because if you're asking that in the first place you're not the type he's interested in playing. Dae sits down across from you, listening with captivating curiousity with wide eyes."Now, listen carefully. The goal of Pazaak is to get a sum total no larger than 20..."[Influence Gained: Daesha]**********"...which is why you shouldn't use flip-valued cards before solid value. Alright, I think that's all. You'd meant to practice a few rounds, but it looks like she'll have to learn the hard way about playing for money. While you vaguely got the gist of that Ithorian's directions...you really didn't expect them to be so accurate -seriously. The Octagon, which you now recognize to be the central plaza of Lessu, teems with life. Merchants with stalls, Soapbox Politicians, Neon Businesses, and what look to be Pick-Up sporting events all teem within the stadium-sized heart of the city. Even the rain hasn't kept the life in this area of Lessu down. Yet, they don't catch your attention as much as what you came here for."Twisted Lekku Cantina"You can hear the music, smell the fresh liquor, and feel the vibrancy of the Cantina just standing a handful of yards away from it. He's in there, no question about it.However, Dae doesn't share your perspective on the establishment. She's agape, and quiet. "It's...it's just how I remember!" She finally cries out overjoyed. "I almost didn't think it was real...I never thought I'd even see it again!" The plaza seems to be home to many things, including Dae's own dreams. >Enter the cantina with Dae>Enter the cantina without Dae, let her relish the sights outside for a bit.>Don't go in yet. >Early TomorrowWelcome to Red's concept of time. Anyways, finishing up this thread...Well, your boss probably isn't going anywhere. This place means a lot to Dae though. Plus, you don't want her off on her own after what happened with that skulking red twi'lek...Dae runs off into the terrance and you follow her. Thankfully, it's hardly as much a challenege this time as the various twi'leks all are congregated into their own little communities doing their own activities. In the midst of the downpour, there are small gangs of kids playing some kind of sport, more seasoned twi'leks haggling aggressively at stalls, and...a particularly large group gathered in the midst of the square for whatever reason. Dae is just soaking in the sight, her lekku swinging with her excited head back-and-forth. Honestly, the girl may give herself a concussion if she keeps at this. She stops abruptly, crouching down to the tiled ground below- where an odd charred, cracked area lies in the patterns. "I remember this. My brother and I were fighting- well, not fighting, fighting. He told me how all girls are weak, so I'd told him to prove it. Naturally, one thing led to another and we started trying to prove who was the stronges tby picking up the heaviest things we could find." Dae chuckles in her nostalgia. "Stupid, right? Well...turns out bro doesn't like finding out he's wrong. When he started losing, he started getting all macho. He stole a full durasteel footlocker from one of the nearby stands and came back to me to prove his point. Get this, the footlocker was full of industrial-grade, active plasma coils. When he tried to lift it overhead, they were all agitated and began going critical! Well, when he finally relaized what was going on, we dropped it and ran as fast as we could. He never did admit that it was his fault though, even though we both remembered how big a *boom* it made."Dae gently runs her hand across the cracked, wet mosaic. "I wonder what happened to him." She seems lost in her own thoughts as you stand in the rain. >Talk to her about family. You lost a brother of yours too, after all.>Bring her to the stalls. You tread up to the young woman crouched in the rain, your feet splashing softly in the puddles underfoot. You put a hand on her shoulder. She doesn't acknowledge it at first. "Family is important, Daesha. Losing a sibling can feel like losing a part of yourself, almost the same as if you woke up without an arm or leg one morning," you articulate carefully. Dae glances at you, expressionless, as you finish speaking your mind. "Just know wherever they are, they're rooting for you. All you can do is fill the void they leave with something worthy of their memory. So c'mon, let's check out the stalls."Dae stares down at the burnt ceramic, before giving a barely discernable nod. She looks at you with a sad curiousity but doesn't say anything though. She heads towards the nearest stall selling trinkets. For your own part, you notice several delears with items that may pique your interest...>Head over with Dae to the trinket's stall. >Check out the scrap and component dealer. The trinket stall is pretty much what you would expect from an open flea market. Trinkets, sundries, and twi'lek knick-knacks adorn the spread display in front a particularly "friendly" salesman chatting up Dae. Seems as though she's really a target for scammers and the like, and her innocent naiivety only makes it worse. Still, she has you here. Dae seems particularly bored with the objects as a whole, though you see her eying a handful of things. She seems to like one particular gift, an incredibly discounted stone the salesman is pitching to be a 100% genuine Ankarres Sapphire...>As a surveyor, it's time to put this trader's inventory to the test. (Awareness)>Try to barter the Salesman down (Persuade)>Swipe some of the items while Dae is distracting him (Stealth)>A real Ankarres Saphire would be fairly resistant to thermal forces or blunt impact...(Demolitions)>Buy it for her>Let Dae purchase the item. "Excuse me, but just what are you trying to pull here?" You confront the greasy salesman after inspecting the "Ankarres Sapphire" that was clearly just dyed Heret. "You expect this fine woman here to fork over how many credits for a low-grade piece of Heret you probably found on the road?"The twi'lek man sputters in surprised, then becomes enraged at your accusations. But, you know this same old song and dance. If you've seen it once, you've seen it a million times. Dae looks particularly upset at your seemingly rude interruption, but you continue on. She'll get it in a minute when the trader has nothing to yell back. "Sir, I am a licensed surveyor of the Galactic Republic and am considered a field expert in most fields of geology, including mineralogy," you take a small vial of slightly oxidized liquid out of your surveyor's pack. "Most people would only recognize an Ankarres Sapphire as being 'blue' and 'rare'. However, what most don't know is that the gem is both highly durable and resistant to moderate acids. Considering most examples of the Sapphire are originally from the Antares System, defined by their lower pH atmospheric conditions, it makes sense."The merchant looks on horrified as you pour several drops of the solution onto the stone. It fizzes quickly through, eating away nearly a quarter of the mineral in seconds- A clear fake. Dae looks at you, impressed, as the trader breathlessly contrives increasingly desperate excuses. But...as you look across the pitiable goods, something in particular catches your eye. A tiny, red fragment of gemstone incorrectly labelled "Corusca Gem". That may be no Corusca Gemstone, but you recognize it to be something just as valuable, a "Heart of Fire", a rare stone known to be a sign of love and attachment which is said to reflect one's own spirit. It's easy to convince the crook to settle for the small trinket in exchange for his business. You doubt he even knew just how valuable the stone really was. Dae inspects it in her hands, immersing herself in every one of its natural facets. "It...feels warm, almost alive." The crystal twinkles a bit in response to this, and Dae can't help but whoop in delight. You'd like to tell her a bit more about it later, but...you're itching to catch that droid stand. (1/2)I gave you the bonus anyway, you rolled close enough and it's your profession

You finish your little shopping spree, leaving your pockets significantly lighter than before. Satisfied, you take a look at the rather useful parts you purchased. [Lost: 1000 Credits][Gained: Wireless Encrypted Uplink][Gained: Behavioral Core- Combat]Dae casually notices your hollow look amd pokes you with a bit of concern. "H-Hey, Krall, those look like some nice upgrades. Krall? Are you okay...?"You...you just realized that you have no clue how to install these. Computer Use: GrandmaAs you lament your own technical shortcomings, Dae sharply flashes her head in the direction of the city square. You catch movement behind you, and notice several men ambling in haphazard formation towards the gathering. Their loose clothing bulges by their hips, and they blatantly attempt to act nonchalant to blend in with the crowds in the afternoon drizzle. "Krall, look," Dae tugs your arm lightly and motions towards the commotion in the central terrace.Various Twi'lek are bound in sparse chains on a wooden stage, though the seller has been knocked off of it. It seems it's some sort of slave auction. But, what catches both your attention is not the trading of life, but the Twi'lek man currently standing alongside the displayed goods on the stage aggressively and animatedly lecturing the alarmed, mixed-alien crowd. Trouble. Yet, as you begin to tell Dae how it may be best to leave quickly, a loud CRASH catches your attention at the edge of the Octagon. You join the sizable swathe of shoppers and spectators in turning to look at the sharp noise by the Twisted Lekku Cantina. Just as you do, you see the dark-haired, pink-skinned figure of a Zeltron man thrown through a broken window of the establishment. Several heavyset Gammoreans burst through the front doors of the bar in pursuit. The low whine of concealed blaster rifles powering up can be heard throughout the crowd. Things are about to get a little hectic. *****************
