New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy of Amsterdam. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

They're the only things you can see in this horrible blackness. The eyes lightly close, the owners focusing on you. You're all alone, and you're terrified.

Eventually the beast lets go, most likely looking for to target a better section of your body, like your neck.

A sickening crunch is heard as bone and flesh give way to your might. The beast is blown back into a wall, splattering against it. You're no expert, but you're pretty sure its dead.

Red eyes hungering for flesh and blood. This creature instills an instictual fear in you, and its all you can do not to piss yourself. This does not please the squirells who live in the tree, as they begin pelting you with nuts. One passerby sees what's going on, and comments that you're being nutted. You run off, humiliated.

You take the stolen weed to Zoot's room, intent to set him up. You feel bad doing this to him, he's a pretty ok guy. But you're a guy, and you got a girl to impress, so fuck everyone else. You sneak in unseen, and plant the drugs. Can't be too obvious, or else Zoot might find them and 'dispose' of the evidence. You light one up, and just spread the smell a bit, before dousing it. You get out quietly and unseen, man does no one really pay attention about what's going on around this school, you take off, and leave an anonymous tip about smelling some drugs coming from Zoot's room. The Disciplinary Committee goes to investigates, and smells the weed. They alert the Security Staff to search teh room, where they find the weed, and more importantly, the missing evidence bag it came in. They can't prove it was Zoot who stole it, as he was seen campaigning recently, so he himself doesn't get in any real trouble, but word does spread that he might be a thief.

You walk around and wait for Eliza to appear to tell her about what you did. As the sun starts to fade, she reveals herself a frown on her face. "Did you get me what I asked?" She sounds more impatient and direct than usual. Probably still pissed about the shroom incident. You tell her what you did, and how you set Zoot up. As you tell your story, her frown starts to give way to a smile, which in turn gives way to that devious smug grin you're used to. "I know I asked you to either find or make dirt, but to think you would go so far, and for me? You really went above and beyond, which is to be expected of my favorite pet." Pet? She called you her pet? That's a huge step up from being a tool! PROGRESS! "I'd offer you some form of reward, but I know you find serving and pleasing me to be its own reward, right? You wouldn't want something material, like say my panties, would you? Of course not. Oh, now that I think about it, we're almost done with our little deal, aren't we? Just one more task, and you can have your prize back. Well, with our business concluded, I have other matters to attend to. You're on the homestretch, don't let me down now." She gets on her toes and pats you on the head. "Till next time, for the last time." Her image just seems to fade away from sight, until she compeltely vanishes.

You disagree, but she pretty much strong arms you into it. With no other choice but to obey, you go back to your room. This was a bad idea. You're no all alone, and the feeling of being watched has been replaced with the feeling of being followed. The sound of claws scraping the floor only solidify that feeling. You try to run, but from the sounds its faster. You won't get away. If you keep running it'll get you from behind without a fight. So you do the only thing you can, you turn and ready yourself.

You look through the library, hoping to find something on these "Witches". You find a lot of information, but it all seems to be about regular witches. Nothing about any of them and strange coins. This isn't going to be as easy as you'd hoped.

You continue your search. There HAS to be something. But every book and artivle you have access to has failed you. You're ready to give up when you return to your room and flop your head onto the bed, where you hit something solid. Under your pillow is a book. It looks ancient, yet somehow absolutely flawless and new at the same time. That wasn't here before, did someone leave it for you? It could be a trick of some kind, but what if it isn't? Feeling like a lucky punk, you decide to read it. And inside is what you were looking for. The book describes the "Witches", but by the book's description, the were actually something more akin to prhophets or some kind of holy men. The book claims that no one made the Coins, but that they were actually divine gifts from Heaven, given only to chosen people to help aide them in their holy missions. Most instances of people coming into contact with a Coin are actually fakes made by others in an attempt to grow rich off of the stories of the real Coins. You start growing tired from reading, and set the book down to continue tomorrow, but upon waking, the book is gone.

You stalk through the hallways, carefully peering around the corners in case of being attacked by one of the monsters on the loose, but make it to Prof. Bakker's office without a problem. You knock on the door, and when it is opened Bakker seems very surprised to see you. He lets you in and asks you to take a seat. His office is the definition of chaos, with dozens of books piled high around his desk, which is covered in papers and trinkets of all shapes and sizes. You sit in a small chair that seems to adjust perfectly to you, becoming incredibly comfortable, Bakker seems to be going through his desk drawers looking for something. He eventually stands up, in his hands he is holding a slender curved sword in a scabbard. "After your a-accident the other day, I decided t-to make you a c-catalyst so you d-don't have any more slip ups." He hands you the saber, it feels light in your hands yet you can feel the weight of the magic resting in it. "T-this blade and scabbard are a pair, and are yours, they will s-stop you from affecting others with your magic so long as the blade is not drawn, but once you d-draw the b-blade you may use your magic upon any living being. It also helps you f-focus your power, a-and d-due to the n-nature of my enchantments, its own power may grow in time." the sword is amazing, do you accept it?

Oh, there are -more- of the gosh-darn-nabbit Lesser Oude Rode Ogen out and running? Here I thought the event would only last until the one, singular one had been dealt with, but it seems not.

Oh well, as a new-fledged member of the Security team, and with numerous reports of further sightings appearing, it is time to do your newfound job and go help the students of the class.

DO: Cast T1 Hope's Last Virtue to try to seal one of the dogs into one of my magic focus vials from my alchemist bag.

Do: Prepare a defensive casting of T2 Pandora's box so as soon as they try to make contact the dog will turn into element boxes.

Adding Enchantment to help manifest the sealing sigil, Transmutation to shift the magic essence of the Oude Rode Ogen into the sigil on the focus, Abjuration to stabilize the binding of the creature, and Alchemy to put a cork in the final aspects of the spell.

Eliza is out for blood. Your blood. She has transcended the emotion of anger. You thought the shit she did before was bad? That wasn't even teh beginning. Who else would have stolen it? If someone had the guts to steal something from the Security lockup, surely they would've stolen something better than a bag of drugs. Stories spread of how you'd abuse your authority if voted as VP, and that the average student can give up any hope of being treated fairly unless they are useful to you. People start getting worried at the idea of your tyranny that Eliza has planted into students' heads. You get the feeling that a lot of students have shifted their support to her.

You try to slow time, but you're too afraid to focus to cast the spell. The ogen charges. You panic fire, all your shots going wild. One shot ricochets off the walls, returning back to you and finding itself lodged into your leg. To say it hurts is an understatement. But you don't have time to worry about the pain, as the animal hasn't abandoned its charge, It leaps at you, fangs intent to find purchase in your flesh. You try casting Slow again, and this time it works. The creature's flight towards your slows, as he seemingly hangs in mid air. He's an easy target as you pepper him with rounds. The slow wears off, as the creature falls to the ground.

You're outnumbered, great. The ogen sense their advantage, and press it as they charge you together. You attempt to seal the first attacker, but they come faster than you expected and breaking your focus. The mana, with nowhere to go, courses and burns through you. Fuck, gotta focus. You manage to dodge the fangs and claws of the attacker, but it still knocks you to the ground, hard. That's gonna be sore later, but you ignore the minor damage, as the second attacker rounds on you. You prepare you Pandora's Box, but he resists it and shrugs it off and cotinues the charge, but he leaps at you too late. He can't gets his mouth open in time to bite you, instead barreling straight into you. The sheer weight and momentum hurts. He doesn't come out unscathed, as he wasn't expecting to hit you head on like that, either. But you can't get distracted. The situation is still bad, but you notice someone coming your way. Maybe they'll help you.

From what we've managed to glean from his notes, he was attempting to bring someone back from the dead- his sister, who died in a duel with another one of the students."

The woman takes a deep breath, as if to clear her thoughts. "Fatal duels haven't been allowed on school premises since the 1890's. We're assuming that he went mad, based on the deterioration of his handwriting and logic in his notes. He likely survived this long through continual transplants of flesh into himself, and appeared to be testing on subjects down in his dungeon to see whether he could recreate life. His flesh golems were most likely his failed attempts." The principal closes the file. "That is all we were able to glean from his notes so far. Thank you so much, again, for bringing this to our attention, Gram. We don't know how he managed to set up a workshop on school grounds without being detected, but we will be implementing more security measures in order to ensure this never happens again. Your safety is our greatest priority."

The tired woman smiles at you, and dismisses you. You feel like she appreciates your curiosity.

Her voice sharpens, her words gaining edge the longer she speaks. She's not happy with the situation regarding the Elections. "And it has to be fast, Elections are coming up soon, and my sources tell me it's a very close race. This is NOT acceptable. If you turn them against each other, not only will he lose a pillar of strength, but a lot of the support they earned him will be lost as well. I don't know, nor care, how you do it, just get it done." She doesn't disappear or anything, she just walks away. She must really be stressed.

The things the book goes into very deep detail about are... horrorfying, to say the least. This is clearly some brilliant mad man's journal about the wretched, though admittedly very precise, details of his gruesome experiments. While you continue to read the book with rapt intrest, your door is forced open, and there stands the Chief of Security himself. He doesn't announce himself or his intent for barging in before pulling the book from your hands. "You're going to have to come with us." You are escorted though the halls, past some very solid looking doors the Chief has to unlock, and down some stairs. You are led into a room, where the chief finally decided to speak. There's no point going into detail, but you read with some very dangerous knowledge in it, and its better for you if you don't remember it."
You wake up the next morning, with a pounding headache. What did you do last night? You're memory is very fuzzy as the last few days are a blur to you. Did you get drunk or something? You hope you didn't do anything stupid.

Has been quite some time since Zav lost his vision, after some time blind the young man started getting the hang of it, with the help of the nurse he finally started to walk in the hall of the academy without bumping in the other students. You spend a couple of hours meditating and connecting with the sword and soon you can feel the sword's presence grow stronger. Its actually acknowledging your presence! The feeling grows stronger and you concentrate to connect with it. A flash comes and you suddenly find yourself in some world. In here, you feel the power of the sword swirling around. You know that this is its world. A dark feeling of aura and energy can be felt flowing around bringing you up. It is dark but as you are brought up slowly, a light can be seen becoming brighter and brighter from a large white castle on dark stone. You look around and see that there are no edges in this world and only the only light can be seen from the glowing castle. This is the sword. The world that the sword works in And out of nowhere, someone starts to speak, with a monotone echo of voices.

With the party going on, You meet Brooke and after a really good talk. You throw pickup lines and talk about the goofiest things. Eventually you find yourself holding hands. With more and more funny talks about the people in the party. She is very cheerful about it and says that even though you lost, you still have her. at that moment you know It seems the perfect time, You lean closer and you can see her blushing. You both gaze into each others eyes and both lean closer as your lips lock. you can feel her luscious lips. Your teeth hit bump each other for a second but you both get in track and do a proper kiss. You release and you can see her red to the ears. She is so cute yet beautiful at that moment as the light strike her face. She leans back and says. "That was nice..." "We meet again." A voice fills the air, not from every direction but seemingly from everywhere. Its powerful, demanding of attention. "I had planned to have this meeting sooner, but other matters needed attending to. Now then," she takes a single step. In less time than it takes to blink, she closes the distance betweent the two of you. She cups your cheeks in her hands, the force of which feels like being crushed between two trains, forcing you to lock eyes. "Be mine." Her gaze pierces your eyes, straight into your mind. You begin to lose yourself as your mind fills with thoughts of her.

You make an executive decision, consequences be damned, as you remove the seal and choke your brother out. You don't know how far under he is, but better safe than sorry. He puts up a feeble effort, clawing weakly as he tries to free himself, before he loses strength and blacks out. You waste no time taking him to the infirmary, hopefully someone there is strong enough to undo whatever has been done to him. Once there you see James on a bed, in very rough shape. You can only surmise he found, or was found by, the vampire. But he seems okay, so you'll worry over him later. Olivia escorts you to a free bed where you not too gently lay him down. A little bruise isn't going to hurt him at this point. You tell Olivia that he is most likely under the mental influence of a something dangerous. Hearing this, she straps him down, the straps and bed capable of holding down even the strongest man, with wards to prevent the patient from casting magic, for eeveryone's safety. It isn't long before Balthazar shows up, none too plussed about noticing you've removed the seal. You tell him what's happened, and why you removed it. He gives your brother a quick look over, probably verifying how much of what you say is true. His face tightens in though, "Just this once, I'll let it slide. Next time though, if something like this happens, you talk to a faculty member. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to speak with some people about what you've told me." The Professor leaves quickly to do whatever it is he plans to do. After he's gone, Olivia appears behind you, "I've only done a quick examination, but he'll definitely need someone better skilled at mental magic than I to handle this. I'm not qualified enough for something this serious, so I'm afraid I can't make any kind of guess at his mental health, but otherwise he is perfectly fine. I've already called in a specialist for this, and they'll be here in a few days."

With you feeling [Downed] You really are not in the mood to get out of bed now. You just stay in bed hugging the pillow and remembering everything, you couldn't win against Eliza and you couldn't even fuckin' buy weed right. The thing you were supposed to be good at and you fucked it up hard. Your thought moves to what it would be like when you're gone. their is weak pain in your chest as you think more of it. Then a knock comes to your door. You hear someone talk in a small voice "M-mister Zoot?" and then a small bump. "You call him Mister. Martingale. not Zoot. Have some respect for the man." which comes from another female voice. And then the knocking continues. You think they leave and soon and the door opens. Did they just pick your lock? 3 walk in and you stand up now. The leading girl comes in high spirits, "I am from the Drama Club and we have things to discuss. We've seen your strength and dedication and want to work under you!". You are led outside and learn that they've seen and know about Eliza's dirty work and want to bring her down some day. She mostly goes on about a few other minor details, mostly asking about the marking around his neck, which she isn't too happy to hear the answer to, and scolds you for your actions. Olivia sees you awake, and informs you of your status. Luckily, there was no permanent damage to the eye or nerves, so long term you're fine. But enough damage was done to warrant fixing. With not much things for the hot springs, You invite Remi to buy and he happily obliges. He clings your arm once again as you continue through town. You find a nice shop that sells swimsuits and trunks. You both pick what to wear and suggest maybe to use it and give their opinions maybe? But Remi shouts in a cute squeak of a voice "Nooo! It would be embarrassing," and whispering to himself. "besides I wanted to surprise yo..." You both take a pick and carry around your own bag since he doesn't want you to see what he bought. You eventually decide to watch a movie with all the free time. The only movie on was life is beautiful, an Italian comedy-drama. It was quite funny but throughout the movie. Remi only leaned close to you. It was a great movie and you didn't laugh at times because he seemed so comfortable leaning on you and watching. You didn't want anything to destroy that cute and peaceful face. The day soon ended and you escorted him to his house. You learned that he has a lovely big mansion which seems to have a vineyard behind it. You end the day there and agree to meet up on the way to the hot springs.

Working on the dummies once more, You're learning a lot already and know basics of low kicks, Now all you need is high kicks and jumping with proper momentum. You attempt your first kick and you feel a sudden sharp pain as you go for the jump. Your muscles tighten and your lose control. You react to hold your leg still to avoid more pain. Soon your other leg cramps too and you're unable to move for a minute. the minute passes and you're finally able to feel your legs without the pain soaring through your muscles but there is a terrible soreness. Standing up needs some effort but you eventually get up and head back to the dorm.
