/qst/ - Quests

>>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUW2hRQkegM [Embed]

Welcome to Spirit Detective Quest! This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Yu Yu Hakusho, though it does not take place during the events of the show. You're a young highschooler, one who will find himself granted the title of Spirit Detective, and will be charged with tracking down demons and other supernatural criminals.

>Rules

Each time I make an update, there will be a ten minute window in which you can vote between various options I have provided. Write-ins are accepted and encouraged, but I do reserve the right to veto them. Once ten minutes have passed, the option (or suitable combination) with the most support will win.

You can choose multiple options, but be mindful of when that doesn't take any sense. Saying you want to go talk to someone and then talk to someone else in one post doesn't make much sense.

Also, in combat, I may veto selecting multiple options depending on how feasible that seems.

As far as combat, you will roll to attempt different options. I will not tell you what the number needed is ahead of time, so use your heads and balance risk/reward. Sometimes, you should take riskier options if they can yield greater payoff. Other times, it's best to play it safe. Use your judgement.

This is not Dragonball, and while there are sometimes ways to bring back the dead, they are few and far between, so do not assume that anybody you kill/let die will be coming back.

I hope you all have fun.

"Spirit gun," you repeat.

Aria nods, making a gun with her right hand and pointing it at you. "It's pretty simple. Ye just have to focus your Spirit Energy into one finger, and let it loose."

She lowers her "gun", and turns away from you.

"The best part is that normal people won't see yer Spirit Gun attack, so ye won't have to worry as much about drawing the attention of local law enforcement," she tells you. "I should also warn ye that with yer current amount of Spirit Energy, you'll only be able to use the attack once between a night's worth of sleep. So, use it wisely until ye can get better with yer Spirit Energy."

>A. Alright, cool

You realize we're about to go on the job, right?
We already spent a good bit of power using the lens, now you want to waste all of it firing at nothing when we're probably about to get into a fight?
>>
>>1217087
>>1217089
"Alright, cool," you tell her, making a gun with your hand. For a moment, you focus, trying to direct your Spirit Energy into your pointer finger. You feel a sort of warm tingle at the tip of your finger, and are sure that you've successfully focused your energy. But, in the interest of not wasting the one shot you'll get today, you don't release it, instead forcing the energy back.

"Hey, Spirit Energy makes you stronger, right?" you ask.

Aria nods. "Yes. With training, a spiritually aware human can greatly strengthen their Spirit Energy. That's why you should practice with your Spyglass when you can."

"Well, what happens if I channel my energy into my fists and punch with it instead of firing it in a blast?" you ask.

Aria holds out a hand to her side, and a book seems to appear out of thin air. She flips through it for a moment before answering you.

"Well, that would give your punches some extra kick," she tells you. "But those punches still wouldn't be as powerful as the Spirit Gun, and you'd use up yer energy fast if ye weren't careful."

She closes her book and stuffs it in her backpack.

"So, what's the plan?" she asks.

"We might as well go for a walk around town and see if we can find anything," you tell Aria. "If we can't, I'll be sure to keep an eye on the news."

"Alright," Aria tells you, taking a step back. "Let's get goin', then."

The two of you travel side by side, strolling around town and keeping your eyes peeled for anything suspicious. Other than kids smoking, and a lot of people driving like assholes, there's really nothing that could be considered criminal going on.

The two of you are nearly ready to call it quits for the day when you hear somebody scream.

Rushing toward the sound, you spot a pretty blonde girl, maybe a year or two older than you, being backed up against a wall by three guys. You haven't seen her in school, but she's definitely wearing the right uniform.

You're mildly surprised to see that the creeps boxing her in aren't Kevin and his goons, looking a few years too old. The one in the middle of the group is holding up a pocket knife, though the others don't seem to be armed.

"I'm not sure if this is demonic, but maybe we should step in anyway," Aria suggests.

Not wanting to go into this blind, you pull out your spyglass, taking a look at each of the three goons attacking the girl, searching them for any additional weapons.

The two "unarmed" thugs also appear to have pocket-knives, but that seems to be the extent of it. You see no signs of any guns or the like, meaning that you should be able to handle this without too much trouble.

"Stay quiet, you little bitch!" the man in the middle shouts, backhanding the girl, who slumps down against the wall and raises her knees to protect her body.

Aria growls beside you, fixing the men with a nasty glare.

You aren't happy with these bastards, either. Without announcing your presence, you rush in, striking by surprise and kicking the man in the middle behind the knee, causing his leg to buckle.

He cries out in surprise, but before he has the chance to try and do anything, you grab him by the back of his jacket and fling him back, sending the pocket-knife flying from his hand, and sending him sprawling on the ground.

The other two thugs turn toward you, the one on your left coming running at you while the one to your right reaches into his pocket. The charging chump throws a punch at your face that you easily catch, and as he struggles to free his fist, you knock him flat with a single punch.

The one on the ground begins crawling toward his knife, while the one on your right retrieves his own from his pocket, revealing the blade and coming swinging. Stepping back and moving your head, you manage to avoid a slash aimed at your right eye.

Stepping back and avoiding more swings, you wait for your chance to disarm him. Soon seeing an opportunity present itself, you catch his wrist, twisting his arm until he's forced to release the knife.

As your foe's weapon falls uselessly to the ground, you release his wrist and give a kick to his chest with such force that he's actually thrown off the ground and slams against the wall.

A gasp from behind gets your attention, and you turn around to see the first thug unconscious on the ground, hand outstretched toward his knife.

Aria stands over him, holding her oar and glaring at his unconscious form.

With that handled, you decide to check on the girl, only to find that she's gone, probably having run off once the fighting started.

Two of the three goons are unconscious, save the one you slammed against the wall. He looks hurt, but he's in better shape to talk than anybody else in his group.

Approaching the man, you grab him by the collar as he tries to rise, and slam his back against the wall. He grunts in pain, holding still and looking up at you fearfully.

"Why were you attacking that girl?" you demand of him.

The man gives an angry sigh. "The boss...he told us to go out and cause trouble."

He chuckles. "A cute girl like that....we were thinking getting into some trouble with her would be fun."

You hear Aria make a sound of disgust as she comes to stand beside you.

"So you've got more buddies skulking around?" you ask the man.

He smirks up at you. "That's right, tough guy. And once the find out what you pulled, your ass is grass."

"Be glad that's all I broke," you tell him. "Now, where is Charlie?"

The man takes one look at you, gulps, and spills his guts, telling you that Charlie and his boys typically hang out around some empty house on the edge of town. He tells you that he isn't sure Charlie will be there right now, but somebody who knows where he is is sure to be.

You're able to convince him to provide you with an address. And, after knocking him out, you gather up the knives and leave the scene with Aria.

"Nice work, there," she compliments as the two of you walk away.

When you offer her a knife, she looks at it for a moment, shrugs, and takes it just in case. You decide to keep one for yourself and find a way to get rid of the other.

"So, we headin' over?" she asks you.

"Yes," you tell her.

"Then let's try and get there 'fore it gets dark," Aria responds, and the two of you break out into a run, making your way across town toward the address in question.

It's nearly an hour before you find the place; a rundown looking home that clearly hasn't seen any inhabitants in a while. Surrounding it are several other homes that don't look much better. This is a crappy neighborhood, and probably quite dangerous to boot. You find yourself glad that you gave Aria a weapon to defend herself with.

"So, how do ye want to handle this?" Aria asks, eyeing the house.

Reaching into your pocket, you pull out your spyglass, and use it to take a look at the house, focusing on seeing through the walls and windows. You turn your head, moving the eyeglass's focus around the building and getting a glimpse of what's inside.

There seems to be five people in total within the building; two are on the first floor, not far from the front door. One of them is actually right by the window, and may have already spotted you. Three others are upstairs somewhere.

"So, is there a way for me to use this to find out if somebody's a demon?" you ask Aria.

"Not really," she admits to you as you put the spyglass away. "With weak demons, your spiritual awareness should allow ye a glimpse of their true forms, even when they're in disguise, but more powerful or cunning demons in disguise or in human hosts will be much harder to figure out."

It may even be able to take out at least one of them relatively silently, barring any sneaky floorboors, just one quick strike to the back of the head to knock them out.

First thing's first. You tell Aria what you saw through the spyglass, noticing as you do that you're sweating a bit, and breathing just a little heavily. Not the best sign, but you should be just fine so long as you don't do anything stupid.

"Well, hopefully that means Runo hasn't had the chance to gain too many followers," Aria tells you. "Still, I'd be surprised if these ones weren't better armed than the ones we fought earlier."

And, if one's already spotted you, that'll be trouble. You decide to withdraw for a brief period of time, then return to try again.

We back

Wanting to hopefully regain the element of surprise, Aria and yourself walk away from the property, waiting for a short while in order for whoever is in the house to drop their guard. The plan is to work your way back at that point, and find a way into the house that will catch them off-guard.

Deciding that you've waited long enough, the two of you start heading in the direction of the house.

"So, what's our plan?" Aria asks as the moment of truth draws closer.

"We'll sneak around to the back of the house and slip inside without them seeing us," you tell your assistant as the two of you approach the house.

"Alright," Aria says, agreeing to the plan.

The two of you reach the front yard, getting low and creeping toward the wall of the house. Once there, you slowly begin to move around the perimeter of the building, working your way toward the back.

You've nearly reached the back yard, when you hear a voice behind you.

"Hey, what are you kids doin' here?"

Turning around, you find yourself faced with a tall, muscular man in a sleeveless black shirt. His bald head and the tattoos on his arms basically make him a walking stereotype, but all jokes aside, your cover's been blown.

In response to his accusations, you offer a shrug, and a punch between the legs that sends him dropping to his knees. As the big guy falls, you rise to your full height and give a second punch that knocks him out cold.

"No, we'll stick to plan A," you tell her. "Let's not separate."

"If you think that's best," Aria replies, sounding just a little bit opposed to the idea.

The two of you continue around to the back of the house, creeping to the back door, and preparing to slip inside. But, of course, there's a problem. When you reach for the nob and attempt to open the door, you find that it's locked.

"Here, let me take care of that," Aria tells you, nudging you aside and attempting to pick the lock.

A few seconds later, the door opens, but not so quietly as you'd have liked. The creaking rings like an alarm in your ears, and you can only pray that the other thug hiding downstairs hasn't heard it.

Your prayers are ignored, and as you step into the kitchen of the house, there's a deafening bang, and a shelf beside you explodes into splinters.

Aria yelps, shielding herself from the debris. As you do the same, you spot someone approaching.

He's a dark-skinned man of average height, with a somewhat skinny build, short hair, along with a mustache and beer.

"Take one more step, and I blow both your heads off!" he warns, keeping his gun trained on you, but keeping an eye on Aria. "Now where's Mike?"

At least use the distraction presented to charge him if this fails.
Step in front of aria so she can charge the gun and aim it at him, then drop out of the way so she can fire.

Leaning over, you whisper for Aria to use her Spirit Gun.

"My Spirit Gun?" she whispers back in disbelief. "I've never even-"

"What are you two whispering about?!" the man demands, starting to look antsy.

"Oh, Mike?" you ask. "He'll be right in."

"Oh yeah?!" the man asks, seeming to struggle with deciding whether or not to believe you. "And who the hell are you?!"

Aria slowly raises her right hand, making a gun with it, and pointing toward the man, who looks at her with a raised brow.

"And what the fuck are you doing?" he demands of her.

"SPIRIT GUN!" Aria shouts at the top of her lungs.

A thin, blue beam of light fires from her finger, shooting across the kitchen and striking the man right in the middle of his chest. The man cries out in shock as he's thrown backward, the gun falling from his hand and clattering uselessly across the ground as he lands sprawled in the next room.

Your attention is taken away from him as you hear Aria breathing heavily. You look over at her, and catch her a moment later as she lets out a tired groan and falls to her knees.

"I-I didn't think that would work," she tells you tiredly.

"You need to get out of here," you tell your assistant. "You're completely spent. Get someplace safe."

Aria nods weakly, and you help her get back to her feet. As she begins to stumble toward the door, she looks back at you.

"Please, be careful," she asks of you before staggering out the back door.

With Aria making her way to safety, you approach the fallen thug, finding that the girl's Spirit Gun has knocked him out cold. That technique sure seems to pack a punch, and you wonder if yours will be even stronger.

Still, you also wonder if you'll be as tired as she was after you use it yourself.

Taking a minute, you locate the gun and pick it up, considering your situation. The Spyglass showed three people upstairs, one of whom is sure to be Runo. You're on your own now, and with all the ruckus you've made, they certainly know you're here.

Keeping the gun hidden as best you can, you make your way to the stairs, making your way to the top and finding yourself staring down a hallway, at the end of which stands a short-haired, muscular man.

He clearly sees you, but rather than threatening you, or drawing a weapon, he just calmly opens the door behind him, gesturing for you to step into the room beyond.

"The boss wants to speak with you, kid," he tells you, his tone firm but calm.

You can just barely make out a figure sitting in a chair within the room.

We need to knock them all out anyways, since we don't know which one really has the demon in them. If it's smart, it might have one of his lackeys acting as the boss or something, which may be possible since this is a weak, tricky demon rather than a big powerful brute.

The idea is to pretend that we're going to walk into the room, but sucker punch the doorman instead to knock him out, then get away from the door so the other two can't shoot at us.

"Alright, alright!" you say to the man. "Put that thing away, I'm coming."

The man relaxes a bit as you start down the hallway, but he doesn't move his hand far from where he was reaching earlier. As you draw closer to the room, you see the figure in the chair look in your direction.

Just as you're about to pass the man standing in the doorway, you turn toward him and throw a punch that slams the back of his head against the wall, knocking him out cold.

The man in the chair stands up, looking toward you with a smirk. He's probably somewhere in his early twenties, with black hair and brown eyes. Something about him seems off to you, and when you squint your eyes, you see a pair of horns poking from his hair.

You've found Runo.

"That hardly seemed necessary," he comments, looking toward his fallen goon. "But, I suppose I understand. We all need to cause some pain from time to time. And from what I hear, you're very good at it."

He smiles at you in a way that makes you want to punch his teeth in. "My name is Charlie. You've met most of my associates already, I hear."

Most of them. Right, there were supposed to be three of them up here. So, where's the third?

You aren't going to deal with Runo until you find out where his last friend is hiding.

Turning around, you see the door slowly closing, revealing a man with a gun behind it. Fortunately for you, he's more focused on shutting the door quietly than he is on you, and so it's simple for you to rush over and jump at him, giving a kick that puts his head through the wall. You hope he's still alive.

When you land, you turn around to find "Charlie" frowning at you, bringing out a gun and pointing it at you.

"Impressive, child," he tells you grudgingly. "You really do have a knack for violence and pain. I could use somebody like you in my organization. What would you say to becoming my right hand man?"

You smile toward your remaining foe, who looks at you warily. "I'd say sure, that sounds just dandy."

"Charlie" relaxes a bit, only to look at you in confusion as you slowly raise your right hand, pointing it like a gun at his head and focusing your Spirit Energy into your index finger.

"What are you doing?" he asks, confused.

"Spirit Gun," you tell him, unleashing energy in a thin beam of light that shoots from your fingertip.

You hold back enough to avoid killing the possessed human, but you're sure that this will be more than enough to do some serious damage. "Charlie's" eyes go wide as the beam heads right for him, striking him right between the eyes and sending him sprawling on the ground.

You feel a bit tired, but you can still keep going. And good thing, too, because you can spot something crawling out of Charlie's ear. It's small, humanoid in shape, with gray skin, messy hair, red eyes, and two horns on his head.

He grumbles to himself as he pulls himself free of his human host.

As Runo grumbles to himself about a stupid human ruining a perfectly good vessel, you walk over to the tiny demon, who doesn't seem to register your approach until you're standing right over him.

"That damn kid....maybe I should take over his body...." Runo growls, looking up at you.

His eyes go wide. "Wait, that attack. He can see me!"

He leaps into the air, but you swiftly catch him, stopping his retreat and preventing him from possessing anybody else. He frantically kicks his tiny legs, cursing at you as he tries desperately to escape.

"Yeah, and they want a word with you," you inform the tiny demon, taking him with you as you step out of the room and make your way out of the house.

You're about a block away when Aria appears in front of you, back in her spirit guide outfit and floating on her oar. She smiles at you when she sees what you're carrying.

"Great job there, Will!" she compliments cheerfully. "I'll take Runo here back to Spirit World. You should get home."

Runo continues to shout various curses as you hand him over to your assistant, who ascends further and further into the air before vanishing from sight.

As quests move forward and the players begin to come into their own, making more decisions, and interacting with the world, the MC slowly goes from being a blank slate to a fully realized character.
With this in mind, How would you discribe William based on our choises so far?
>>
>>1220574
A loner slowly coming out of his shell. Somewhat pragmatic in terms of fighting, at times bordering on sadism.
>>
>>1220579
Yeah that sounds about right.
I really like the straight forwardness of the character.
He's not an edge lord, or a hothead, but violence seems to be his answer for most of his problems.
Then again, we haven't really come across any problems that need something more than a good punch in the face.
Guess we'll see if this holds true as we move on.

I like to think William never made any friends because he didn't think himself worthy enough to have any. From the beginning, William placed a heavy value on physical and social strength.
The way I see it, killing that first demon is what gave him the confidence to take on the world.
Of course he can make friends, and take on bullies. He killed a demon with nothing but a floor board.
All William ever needed was a kick in the pants, and a test to prove he's worth a damn.
>>
>>1220579
He seems like the type of guy who takes the shortest route possible to gain results.

Like if he came across two brothers standing at a forked path in the road, both of them telling him the other tells lies and that he should go right/left, he'd just go straight.

Feels bad that I missed the session today, but at least we live.

1. Did you expected the rolls to go as absurd as they did?

2. Did you expected us to make Aria use the Spirit Gun?

3. How much of a bad time would muscleman with the shotgun and "Charlie" would've given us if we failed? Hospital? Bad end?

4. How superhuman are we right now? Is Will it like a football player? A black belt martial artist? Captain America?

5. Not really a question, but my /tg/ side likes to wonder about logistically how would a Spirit World check work out. Is Koenma gonna have to chat with mortal acquaintances to rig up a disposable bank account so Will can draw funds from? Hopefully an auditor never decides to take a closer look at them paycheck cash flows.

>Koenma might not appreciate that, though
I think most people don't appreciate demons coming over to the Land of the Living to terrorize it either.

By the time you see your house up ahead, you're quite tired. Between rushing back and forth across town, getting into multiple fights, using your Psychic Spyglass, and finally using your Spirit Gun, you seem to have thoroughly exhausted yourself.

Now, you have a new challenge waiting for you upon your return to your house; explaining to your parents why you're more than two hours late getting home. Your mom seems iffy on the whole "monsters" thing, and your dad seems to think that you're flat-out lying. Trying to sell to them that you've been hired by God's son to hunt demons with the help of a spirit girl given a human body seems like it would be extremely difficult.

When you step through the front door, you're instantly able to tell that dinner has long-since finished cooking. Your mother is sitting on the couch, reading a book, while your father appears to be grading papers.

When the door closes, the two of them look up at you.

"Will!" your mom says, sounding relieved.

"What kept you so late?" your father asks, his tone relatively neutral, but curious.

"I was spending some time with a friend," you tell your parents, deciding not to flat-out lie to them, but also deciding that the whole truth is probably unwise to reveal at the moment.

"Oh, you were with one of your new friends?" your mom asks, sounding happy.

Nodding, you add another half-truth to the mix. "And thanks to her, I was able to get a job."

Your father sets down one of his papers, looking quite surprised. "A job?"

"Dear, that's just wonderful!" your mother tells you excitedly. "I'm so proud of you."

"Yes, Will, that's fantastic news," your father agrees. "What kind of job did you happen to get?"

Your belly rumbles at your mom's words, and you start toward the kitchen, ready to enjoy some good home-cooking. But, as you reach the doorway, you stop, looking back to your father, who's gone back to his spot on the couch and resumed his work.

"Dad?" you call softly.

"Hmm?" your dad asks, looking away from his papers and toward you. "Yes?"

"I love you," you tell him. "And I'm sorry if my job keeps me from coming home on time."

Seeming a bit confused by your words, your father nevertheless gives you a reassuring smile. "I love you too, son. And don't worry, so long as you're safe, and doing something worthwhile, I don't mind if you come home a little late. Just make sure you use that head on your shoulders, and take care of yourself."

"I will," you promise, making your way into the kitchen.

Your mother sits with you as you eat your dinner, seeming somewhat amused as you quickly clean your plate. Once finished, you let out a satisfied belch and push your plate away, only for her to grab it and carry it to the sink in order to wash it.

"I love you, mom," you tell her as you rise from your seat.

She looks back at you, offering a smile. "I love you too, dear."

"I'm sorry if my work keeps me from coming home on time," you tell her.

"Dear, as long as you don't get hurt, and aren't making trouble for other people, you can stay out as long as you want," she tells you. "Just make sure you stay safe, do your homework, and get rest. I trust you."

She turns back toward the sink. "Now, why don't you go get some rest?"

That sounds like a wonderful idea. You go upstairs, get a shower, and climb into bed, falling asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow.

The next morning, you feel much better, and make your way toward school in plenty of time, finding yourself joined by Aria halfway there.

"Good morning," you greet the girl. "How are you feeling?"

"Better now," she tells you pleasantly. "I took Runo to Spirit World, and got some much needed rest. I hope you went and did the same."

The two of you continue on toward school, where you spot Damon sitting on the front steps, flipping through one of his books, and Rachael heading inside, probably making her way to homeroom.

One good thing about this, we gave our reiki one hell of a workout yesterday, so this will show us (in one big blast) how much we've improved.
And it's early in the day, so we'll have some energy back by evening, at least.
>>
>>1223865
Som is our qm, it could happen
>>
>>1223869
One bad thing is, firing a big ol' blast straight up into the air might grab the attention of any nearby demons.

And then we'll be tired when they show up.
At least we've got aria's spirit gun.
>>
Well, at least this might make him spiritual aware if he wasn't to begin with.
>>
Rather than speculate, I opt to wait to see what happens.

Plenty of time afterwards for us to shit our pants or whatever.
>>
>>1223885
It could be that we fail to make anything appear instead of accidentally firing off a spirit gun

Though if we DO shoot a spirit gun at the sky, we should keep our eyes peeled to see if ANYONE suddenly looks up, because it'd be a hard thing for any spiritually sensitive kid to pretend to ignore.
>>
>>1223904

You walk over to Damon, Aria right behind you as you approach the distracted student, who's too absorbed in his book to even notice your approach.

"Hey," you greet, unprepared for the response that follows.

Damon yelps, throwing his book into the air and falling back onto the steps, drawing laughter from some of the other students. Damon's cheeks turn red with embarrassment at the mocking, and he grumbles to himself as he turns over and grabs his book.

"Hey," he greets somewhat irritably. "What's up?"

In answer, you form your right hand into a gun, pointing it up into the air.

"Do you see anything at the tip of my finger?" you ask, focusing your Spirit Energy with the intent to create a little light at your fingertip.

Things don't go quite as planned.

Damon starts by giving you a suspicious look. "Dude, what are you doing?"

Before you can see anything, a light appears. But, rather than a tiny glow at the tip of your finger, you accidentally fire your Spirit Gun up into the sky.

Aria gives an angry sound, while Damon scurries backward up the stairs, looking like someone just shot a gun into the sky.

Okay, maybe not the best simile.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" he shrieks, drawing more strange looks from the other students, who evidently saw nothing.

Before you can answer, Aria grabs you by the ear and drags you away from the staircase, glaring at you with such intensity that you instinctively recoil.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" she demands. "WHY WOULD YOU GO FIRING THAT OFF INTO THE AIR LIKE THAT?!"

Should we tell her that it'd be nice to get some actual training instead of just being told what we're capable of doing and winging it?
We may have been successful so far, but perhaps she's forgotten that we're pretty much the same as any other human around here, except perhaps in our psychology and philosophy.

"I didn't mean to fire it," you insist in a much quieter voice. "I wanted to see if Damon's spiritually aware, and he definitely is."

"Well great!" Aria growls. "So now you're just going to tell him everything about Spirit World?!"

"Look, calm down," you tell her. "You're making a scene."

"MAKING A SCE-" she starts before covering her mouth and glancing around. "Right, sorry. Look, one of the big rules about Spirit World is that we try to keep its existence under wraps."

"What's Spirit World?" Damon asks, his head appearing between the two of you.

Aria cries out in surprise, hopping back on one foot and raising her hands like she's about to try some moves from a kung-fu movie. When she sees it's just Damon, she laughs nervously, putting both feet on the ground and rubbing the back of her head.

"S-Spirit World?" she repeats. "W-well, it's a-a story we're working on."

Damon gives her a look that tells her he's not buying it, then looks at you.

"Look man, what's going on?" he asks. "Either I'm going crazy, or you shot a laser out of your hand."

"I'll explain everything at lunch," you promise Damon.

"Fine," he agrees, not sounding pleased with being made to wait. "I'll see you there."

The bell for homeroom rings, and the three of you rush inside.

Classes progress mostly normally for the morning, though the fact that you're going to have to spill your guts to Damon at lunch looms over you the entire time, making things somewhat less pleasant.

On your way to lunch, you're trying to decide what to say to Damon. So lost are you in your thoughts, that you fail to realize that you're heading right for another student, who is moving far slower than you are.

The student, a girl, yelps in surprise when you walk right into her, turning around and glaring at you.

"Watch it!" she growls, before her expression changes to one of surprise, recognition in her eyes.

You look back at her, and take in her appearance. She's a blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl, probably a year or two older than you. She's quite attractive, with a pretty face and great body, which might be why those creeps decided to go after her yesterday.

"Wait, I know you," she says quietly.

Waving goodbye, the girl continues down the hall, vanishing into one of the classrooms and allowing you to make your way to the cafeteria without further interruption.

You find Damon and Aria already waiting, neither one talking to the other and both of them looking distinctly uncomfortable. Each of them look relieved at your approach, Aria making room for you to sit beside her.

Damon's spiritually aware. This crap is something he's going to have to live with, so lying to him would just be wrong.

You tell him the truth.

Damon listens intently, though at one point he asks you to stop for a moment so that he can take out a notebook and jot down notes.

"Please don't mention this to anyone, okay?" you ask as he starts to write things down.

"Sure," he tells you with a nod.

He continues writing as you go over the rest, and he looks absolutely stunned when all of that is finished.

"And, Aria, if he's spiritually aware, this is going to affect his life," you tell your assistant. "It seems wrong to keep him completely in the dark."

The girl nods. "Alright. Just don't go firin' Spirit Guns into the air in public."

"Didn't stop ye from firing it into the sky fer no reason," Aria grumbles.

Fishing into your pocket, you retrieve the Psychic Spyglass, tossing it to Damon, who barely manages to catch it.

"You can use this to see through things," you explain. "What you see through depends on what you're trying to see."

Aria nods. "The spyglass can see through walls, clothes, skin, pretty much anythin'."

"Really?" Damon asks, holding it up to his eye and looking at Aria's chest.

The girl covers her chest, yelping in embarrassment and disapproval before kicking Damon in the shin under the table.

Hissing in pain, Damon drops the spyglass on the table, leaning down and grabbing his shin.

"You lousy pervert!" Aria shouts at him, her face red.

>A. Take the spyglass back

>B. Shrug

>C. Chuckle

>D. Laugh

>E. Ask if he saw anything

Sorry.

Just asking if he saw anything will likely get us kicked by aria as well.

>F. Was it worth it?

Chuckling, you take back the spyglass as Aria continues to glare daggers at Damon, who continues to rub his shin.

"Were you able to make it work?" you ask. "It needs Spirit Energy to function, so don't be surprised if you start feeling tired."

"It worked," Damon assures you, resulting in another growl from Aria as he sits back up.

Leaning in, you whisper, "Was it worth it?"

He grins. "Oh yeah."

"JERKS!" Aria shouts, punching both of you on the top of the head.

>A. Hey, you never took a peek with the spyglass

>B. Sorry!

>C. Tell Damon that you'll try and teach him some things after school

>D. Ask Aria if there are any new cases yet

Don't be apologetic, we're men, not cucks.

>E. But seriously though, the afterlife is real and it seems like hell is too, and she's a spirit guide. So... you might wanna apologie.
>>
>>1224736
Ah, that'd be good actually.

>E. Shouldn't you be more worried about going to hell now? [Chuckling Intensifies]
>>

Though more mocking than actually serious I think. Wanna see if we can get a panicked apology out of him.

"Hey, I never took a peek," you protest.

Aria just glares at you.

"You know, Damon, Aria here's a Spirit Guide, you might want to apologize to her," you tease.

"A Spirit Guide?" the boy asks in confusion.

"I guide souls to the Afterlife," she explains.

Damon gulps. "S-sorry."

Aria sighs, leaning back. "It's not like I make the judgement on where you go."

Damon sighs in relief before looking at you. "So, can you teach me how to use my Spirit Energy?"

>A. You can try

>B. Sure

>C. Yeah, you'll start after class

>D. No

>E. Shrug

"I can try," you tell him.

"Awesome!" Damon shouts excitedly. "I can't wait!"

And so, lunch comes to an end, and you continue your day of classes, readying yourself to teach Damon when all is said and done.

Som, can we just ignore this guy's posts and rolls if he's just going to keep being a sperging pervert? It's the next best thing since we can't just ban him.
>>
>>1224986
I'll consider it. In actual serious scenarios, he's fairly rational, though. So guess we gotta take the good with the bad

what about the Sally? what she think about us?

She thinks it was really impressive that you were able to take on those goons without getting yourself killed.

She's grateful to you for rescuing her, and both surprised and grateful that you didn't ask for anything in return

what an ungratful bitch. She should suck our mighty cock while we just sit in our throne of bitches with a deadpan expression and in the end just shrug.
