Time to start an experiment I've been considering for a little while. I'll looking for a maximum of six to eight volunteers willing to try this out. I'm thinking of running a game where players control various nations in a world set at the tech level of around 1910, and playing through the 'great war period' in this alternate world. Of course, this world might not actually have a world war, we'll have to wait and see. Although warfare will likely play a part, the social events of this period like communism, fascism, nationalism and separatism, as well as international politics between players and npc nations will also be important. This will be a relatively realistic game, so no magic or fantasy races.Pic related is the map will be using, which is the 'europe' of this world. Off the map to the west are steppes and tundra similar to Siberia, full of precisely fuck all. To the south is an equivalent of the sahara. Other continents exist, but are either colonies of the nations on the map, or are otherwise incapable of any major intervention with on-map conflicts, due to being too weak, too far away, too isolationist, or whatever else (but mainly for the sake of simplicity). Should you wish to join, I'll need you to select an area you'd like to start in from the map. Unlike most nation builders which start at primitive technology levels there will be no 'empty' land in this game to expand into, everything will be owned by a player or npc nation. You can own as much or as little land as you would like (within limits). Try to choose roughly realistic borders. You can also place a capital and major cities for your nation. Please draw me a map (however shitty) of these things rather than explain them to avoid any confusion.
>>1226125Aside from that I would like you to give me the following info, the more detail the better.>Country Name:>Colour:>Government Type:Do you have a monarchy? A parliament? Both? What ideology does your government follow? If a democracy, which party is currently in power? If you have a monarch what are they like?>History:How has your nation formed? What sort of culture and society do they have? How industrialised is it? Is it densely or sparsely populated for its size and terrain? Why? Is your technology cutting edge, or just about up to date, or behind the times?>Colonies: Do you have colonies? How big are they? What sort of places are they? Rainforest? Islands? Mountains? Deserts?>Resources: What you have lots of, but also what you are lacking. If you have colonies, what is produced in those?>Issues:Any outstanding issues your country has. Is it fucking backwards and still living like people did two hundred years ago (like Russia was)? Is it a mess of different religious and cultural groups that hate each other (like Austria-Hungary)? Does it have conflicting claims with neighbours over border zones and is on the verge of war as a result? Are communists threatening to overthrow the government? Is it struggling to maintain control of its colonies?Anyone who makes a huge, advanced, stable nation that produces a huge variety of important resources, has a massive colonial empire and no issues to deal with will politely be told to fuck off. I'm trusting you here, folks. I'm also trusting you to not do anything blatantly retarded like overseas colonies for a landlocked nation, or a massive population in the arctic, or countless other ways of proving your mother should have had an abortion. Don't let me down.

Short: Cederia>Government TypeElective monarchy, with noblemen of all integrated kingdoms having a vote, but only Cederians being able to be voted Polymonarch. The current Polymonarch, Laracius Divicus is a deeply religious man but populist through and through, two traits that often come into conflict.>History:Cederia used to be a pretty strong player on the map, and it used its leverage to swallow up more and more of its neighbours. As it got bigger however, it became increasingly more slow and lumbering and increasingly more difficult to keep all the different peoples in check. Its very traditionalist government didn't help matters. So one after the other, through deals upon deals, its swallowed up peoples got more and more rights, eventually even granting four of them independant kingdom status, but still with the Polymonarch as their ruler. This brought with it a slow adaption rate as the lumbering giant falls more and more back behind the industrialized standart. It is wildly differently populated across its large ckay,>Colonies:Only tiny colonies in southern deserts. Very focused on the continent.>Resources: Coal, Agriculture, MANPOWER, salt, wood. They have tried to combat that with aggressive alliences with culturally similar and industrially more advanced countries, in order to import the progress they themselves are unable to produce.

>>1226228All I hope is that I'm big relative to the others. >Country Name: Bombardia>Colour: Grey>Government Type: Military Junta>Historytl;dr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifWwj_Jp86ABombardia has the worlds most powerful artillery, and they have evolved their lives around their massive earth shattering guns. They are a city state, and live primarily in the industrial "Fortress City" of Bombardia, the worlds largest and most industrial city but also their only city. Their origins go back to the invention of gunpowder itself, and claim to have been where the cannon itself was invented. Founded by a general, the first one to use artillery, his fortress atop the tallest mountain in the region soon grew as soldiers brought their families and wives to live with them, mining the mountain for its rich sources of ores and chemicals needed for explosives. Over centuries they built up their industrial home, manufacturing and exporting more guns and explosives than many other nations combied, building bigger and bigger cannons to defend themselves from all manner of attack, embedding these garguantuate even into their streets and houses and culture. The entire populace is indoctrinated to believe it is always in a state of war and wartime production, that the outside world is full of threats and danger, and from a young age children are put into uniforms and given helmets and expected to either make, load, or fire shells and bullets.Proud of their guns and of their "military society" they are a very isolationist people, prefering to stay within their nation and live in their city. Bombardians only leave their city to go hew down trees for lumber or mine more mountains, but they do not stay long, for their land is blasted and cratered with holes and lakes from daily "tests" of their biggest guns. >Colonies: None>Resources: Very rich in Chemicals, Metals, Coal, and Superior Production. Not so much everything else.>Issues:Bombardians are stubborn, singleminded, and culturally chained to their military traditions and ideology. They prefer to fight using their historical method of using tractor machines to dig trenches manned by men and turrets to hold a line, while their massive artillery flies overhead to smash the enemy, and armored trains bring up heavy guns. But any new ideas are considered foolish and they are unlikely to innovate beyond their doctrine. The people themselves are, well, actually rather poor in health. Their diet consists of mostly wheat, barely, potatos and other crops which can be grown en masse in little space and this bland diet itself tends to be rationed to ensure the city can remain indefinitely independant during a siege. It does not help that the air itself is thick and noxious in artillery and shell smoke, many wear their gas mask daily. There is cultural decay among the "Commanders" who lead the military state, becoming more of an aristocracy, growing fat and decadent and further instilling the nation that artillery will always win the day and avoiding new ideas.
>>1226339Also of note, "Bombardia's" heavy guns are able to fire at such vast distances, they can cover and shell an area roughly the size of the circle listed in >>1226230In fact, it is said that "Bombardia's borders extend exactly no more and no less than her guns can shell the enemy."

>>1226360I hope you won't take this as too aggressive an attack, but I personally have a bunch of problems with Bombardia. And I'm just a player so it's not on me to decide it, but here are just a few things:you've got a tradition of using tractors in a time where tractors have been around a decade or two.You have a tradition of using mortars in a time where the mortar has been obsolete for the last two centuries until it has been making a comeback for maybe a decade. You have armoured trains in a time without armoured trains. You have trains in a city state that prides itself for isolationism
>>1226339Although cool, the idea of cannons that can fire a couple hundred miles isn't terribly realistic using 1910's tech. We'd struggle to make those with modern tech irl. >>1226360Ah, you just posted that. Yeah, I do like it, but I'd also like you to tone it down a couple of notches. As I said, cannons that big never existed, and even things like big armoured trains and tractors are pushing the limits of the starting technology. It also seems a little bit implausible that the whole population would live in one huge city. How do they feed themselves? Where did the rural population go? Did the city people genocidally wipe them out? >>1226357That's a very large area considering how unstable your country is. How did they come to own so much land when they're in near constant civil war with dodgy dictators?
>>1226261>>1226319>>1226327>Country Name: The City States of Greater Larania>Colour:Sky Blue>Government Type:Greater Larania is a monarchy, and their king has ultimate control over all six of the Laranian city states. Each of the cities, however, has its own devolved parliament who each have a modest budget to put towards public works. The cities on the eastern coast tend to hold more conservative views after the loss of their land in the Mallary isles, and elect their officials accordingly. King Malcolm Pellin is a pragmatist first and foremost. He recognises that a certain amount of devolved power is necessary to keep a hold of his unruly, independent-minded subjects but hopes to keep the ultimate authority of the royal family intact.>History:The Lerrenese are a people who - ages ago - migrated as tribes onto the Laranian plains. There they established five major trading cities: Larania, Pellin, Dosta, Mallitan and Masil.Mallitan and Masil - on the east coast - formed an early alliance and subjugated the peoples of the nearby islands, calling these the mallary isles. This growing power prompted their western rivals to colonise the island of Palania, establishing another city on the island's eastern tip. Intermarriages between the noble merchant families of Larania, Pellin and Palania soon led to the primacy of the Pellin family - and before long, one of their descendants claimed kingship of the three western cities. Sending agents to the Mallary isles to agitate the local populace, this cunning king launched an attack on the cities in the east when most of their forces were dispatched elsewhere to deal with growing independence movements across the Mallary isles: whose independence was granted in the same treaty as recognised the king of Larania as having primacy over all six of the Laranian city states. Uniquely among the laranian cities, Dosta was neither inherited by the Pellin family of subjugated in war. They peacefully accepted vassalage under Larania, and as such they are the only other Laranian city state with a "ruling family" of their own, even if their prince's influence is rather small compared to that of the king of Greater Larania.
>>1226377(Yeah, sorry, I wasn't at all going for realism over aesthetic here and certainly none of this stuff would be appropriate for a true 1910s tech setting. Representatives are elected to the National Congress of the Worker's Party of Kedesh from regional workers councils. The General Secretary of the Worker's Party of Kedesh serves as the head of state. The current General Secretary is Ismail Ashraki.>History:Kedesh is an ancient nation, location of some of the first cities in human history. Over the millenia of it's existence it has been both conqueror or and conquered. Centuries ago, the reigning dynasty of Kedesh ruled over a vast empire, only to see it slip away in rebellions and reconquests, until Kedesh was an empire in name only. Decades ago, in an effort to restore the nation's former splendor, the reigning emperor began a ruthless policy of industrialization. The policy was successful, but it created a large, discontented urban working class. The discontent among industrial workers in turn led to the birth of a powerful socialist movement. A failed war to regain lost territory from a neighboring country led to an economic crisis, and the workers, many of them veterans, rose up and overthrew the monarchy, leading to the creation of the new Socialist Federal Republic of Kedesh.>Colonies: Kedesh has no colonies, having lost it's last external holdings decades prior to the revolution.>Resources: Kedesh is rich in minerals and petrolium, but lacks lumber. It has had some issues with food production since the rapid industrialization decades ago.>Issues:The nation has been politically unstable since the revolution. Bands of monarchists still hide in the countryside. A large amount of tension exists between the highly religious rural population and the largely atheistic urban working class, as well as the officially secular Worker's Party. Agricultural production has lagged since the nation became industrialized.
>>1226125>Country Name: Azenaria>Colour: Yellow>Government Type:Elected Absolute Monarchy headed by Despot Koldo Azenar whose clan has been in power for over 100 years. Koldo himself is an effective administrator and politician.>History:The islands were once ruled by dozens of clans that would go in a cycle of war, alliance, and betrayal. Over time more and more clans were vassalized and its people subjugated. The clan of Azenar ended up being the most cunning and brutal so they ended up winning this generational war. The clans of Azenaria elect their head to represent their interests, but it is only the despot chosen by the Azenar that has the power to enable these interests. The main island is heavily industrialized but progress has not gone to the other islands. The main island is densely populated and is where most of the trade comes through. Power for the clans is a very direct thing, so Azenar needs to make overt displays of their superiority if they want to remain in control. While the army of the Azenar is modern and the capital is filled with luxury goods from all over the world, even on the main island this progress has not been shared with fully.>Colonies: Azenaria sends people off to colonies rather than keep them imprisoned so that they can claim as much territory as they can. they are very numerous, but many of them are very small. They are all over the world, but the ability to actually call upon them for resources or support is limited at best and borderline treasonous at worst. They are only maintained by Azenar viceroys who can only get minimum quotas fulfilled, as the colonies are much more resistant to rule now that their rulers are limited in what they can do to enforce order.>Resources: Large amounts of lumber, stone, and metals. oil is plentiful, but only recently is it being tapped into. The colonies provide very little strategic resources, but they do bring back a staggering variety of luxury goods that can be used for trade with the mainland and keep the populace complacent.>Issues:There are deep seated cultural and racial issues in regards to how clans view each other and their current government. The only reason why they have not turned on clan Azenar is because they hate each other just as much for past grievances. This carries over to the colonies where they will provide just enough to not be considered rebellious, but not more. Koldo is unique in that he is attempting to foster a national unity between all clans and while Azenar supports him in this for now, they feel that he could potentially threaten everything if he fails.

>>1226388>History, cont. The Lerrenese people share a common language and common heritage as seafaring traders and innovators. Their trading fleet is one of the great powers in the southern seas, and the Laranian cities are some of the most densely populated and industrialised areas on the planet, the kingdom having been formed out of several rich city states.>Colonies: Greater Larania is not a major colonial power. Their conflicts with the inhabitants of the Mallary isles early in their history soured the perception of colonialism in the eyes of a large segment of the population; but as a trading nation, they do a lot of business across the world - often dealing with the colonies of other nations, and even independent, more primitive cultures.>Resources: The Lerrenese are a culture of specialists. Their home on the fertile plains provides them ample food for the large population centres (especially after the agricultural revolution) but unfortunately little else.Larania is defined by its ability to aquire cheap materials from across the globe and process them into goods that everyone wants.>Issues:At first glance, Larania may seem to be remarkably stable and prosperous - they have a largely benevolent monarch, some of the best craftsmen in the world and some of the densest concentrations of people and wealth.Unfortunately, as with any nation, it is not without its flaws. It is cripplingly reliant on foreign imports to produce the speciality items they trade elsewhere, and though the elites don't want to admit it the better mass production technology gets, the less use there will be for Laranian expertise. This looming economic catastrophe might not bring them to collapse this decade - or even the next - but if one thing were to fail, their whole economy might come crashing down. Not only that, but the cities on the eastern coast have noticed a worrying trend. The people there have started to take issue with the monarchy, chafing under the rule of a member of the same family that subjugated them by violence and skullduggery hundreds of years in the past. They might be assuaged somewhat by the reconquest of their former colonies of the Mallary Isles, but Larania's military is far from a shining beacon of imperial power. Not only that, but the sheltering of exiled members of the Kedeshian royal family has strained relations with their northern neighbours. >>1226454>>1226402There could well be. >>1226485We can make it to where the island was originally mine, but druza managed to take the southern half of it in a recent war that ended up getting the previous despot executed by his own tribe. this also ties into the need for koldo to start appealing to the other clans that they all need to unite to fight against a foreign enemy.

The Ottobassid Dynasty took up the title of Defender of the Faith, Caliphate of Caliphates and Sultanate of Sultans. They are blood of the prophet, protector of the holy city, and the bane of infidels. They have been constantly trying to expand their territory and spread the faith. The Ottobassid Empire is matched in manpower only by the Polymonarchy, but is far more culturally assimilated and united through the Faith of the Prophet. But it comes at a cost, much manpower is spent holding the territories to the south. But as the south is tamed, the North now paints itself a tempting targetThe North and the Empire have had enmity, the Ottobassid's have had to fend off numerous crusades from the northern kingdoms for centuries. They have traditionally been focusing on efforts here, making northern expansion often a secondary priority. The vast continent of Aphrak is rich in almost every resource, but its thick jungle, swarms of insects, and viscous savages and animal monsters puts a big strain on holding this territory. Advancements in technology have made this easier day by day.>Resources: The desert of Tzin is the single richest source of Oil, and this would be most useful if the Ottobassid only had the industrial infrastructure to actually tap it. But the strain and stretch of holding so many different tribes and territories left little in the way of strong industrialization. Though lacking in industry, the Ottobassid Empire is vastly supplied in food, lumber, ores and manpower. Aphrak is a figurative breadbasket of everything they need at the cost of having to maintain dangerous supplies lines in hostile jungles.>Issues:Because of its size and such rapid expansion, there is a strong disparity in industrialization and sophistication among the Ottobassid territories. Indeed, while the capital territory can field a more modern standing army including artillery and vehicles, the Ottobassid also readily call upon hastily armed natives from the south to fight for them, such as the great Zuul Tribes, the Camel Riders of Ghanistah, or Zamoan Warrior Women.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxehOQNenFk

>>1226559Forgot pic.If you think its too OP,i can change it.
>Announcement to all: I will be going to bed shortly, and will put you all on a map tomorrow, and fill in the gaps with NPC nations. More details from everyone, especially where their capital or other big cities are, would be great. Detail like the Polymonarchy and Laranian City States have given would be great.>>1226519>>1226528If you're fine with it I can roll with it too. So Azenaria did own the big middle island, but Saljardod conquered it (presumably just before it went to total shit). >>1226539>>1226559You two are both hugely powerful by your descriptions. Rodania, I'll be limiting your population somewhat. On the map you're mostly hilly and that far south quite dry (think Spain), so your population may be large considering that, but still won't be enourmous. I also question what your 'huge trade fleet' is trading, as you apparently don't have much of a colonial empire any more? What do you trade? Where do you get it from? You need products to sell if this is the basis of your economy.Ottobassids, you can expect to have quite a lot of trouble managing so many colonies, and it'll tie up a lot of funding and manpower. Having no real competitors on your continent may also lead to complacency in your military and difficulty in getting them to adopt more modern tactics and equipment.
>>1226615they did not conquer the whole thing just the south.
>>1226615Mostly exporting heavy machinery, manufacture goods, steel.THey remained a trade power only becouse of how industrialized they became before the revolution. And they are using their trading posts to simply buy the goods from the countries they are in and spend tchem in countries in iwch they are unaviable.(Kinda what the dutch and british did, except that rodenia doesnt have suc powerful trade as the dutch nor the huge clonies of britian)And yes,you can limit my population.K
>>1226615>More details from everyone...would be greatHere are some major cities, along with a borders roughly demarcating the constituent powers of the confederacy.1, 3, and 6 are typical river cities, benefiting from the usual riparian blessings. 4 and 5 see above average traffic, due to their positions within the state.2 is a shithole, present on the map only by virtue of somehow being better than anything else in the surrounding area.
>>12266151 is a huge trading harbour city, capital of Rodenia.2 is another huge trading harbour, and the reason why the peninsula its so important3- a rather medium harbour city, used by traders saioin for the southern continent4 - A rather big, heavily industralised city, very important for war effort.5 - Your typical by the river city.

>>1227335>if you try to fight a land war in Zvelnaya you're gonna have a bad timeWhy is that, other than the cold? It seems quite densely populated and is not that large, comperatively. What makes a land war in Zvelnaya so difficult? Are the inhabitants renowned for effective Guerilla tactics? is the country very well fortified?>>1226854Rodenia, what would you say about having an ethnically Cederian population in your country's south?
>>1228604Read up on the Nazi invasion of Russia in WWII. The saying is a bit of an exaggeration but if you're caught during the cold winter unprepared it'll fuck you up. And winters are long in Zvelnaya.
>>1228625The Nazi invasion started during the spring, they got into winter because the country was so fuckhuge and they suffered so much because it was so sparsely populated, so that the (partially mytholigcalized) 'corched earth' tactic hit them more than it did the Russians. You've got a bunch of border cities with evenly spaced out cities in the back on an area that's pretty much typical for the continent. You don't have any of the tactical advantages Russia has except for: "Is stupid to be attacked in the winter."
>>1228632Really the Russian population is a lot more concentrated than one might be led to believe - it's all in the Western part aside from a few cities along the Trans-Siberian Railroad. And yes, what I'm saying is that it's stupid to attack in the winter when you're unprepared because attrition will beat the shit out of you. That's pretty much what I'm saying, I'm not claiming invincibility or anything, just that being so far north makes things a bit inhospitable, which doesn't even take into accountability the mountainous terrain and other defensive features. Why are you so upset anyway?
>>1228604I don't see why they would be there though.Cedria is really far from Rodenia itself and south is its richest and most important region.
>>1228666I'm not upset, I just wanted you to think about it and develop some good reasons that will work later on if it comes to war. For example you gave as an example an invasion that started in june in the post further up, and now you've said it's actually about attacking in winter. Same with comparing it to the flat Russian west in defensive capabilities above, and now bringing the mountains into play.I didn't think I sounded too upset, but if it was too aggressive, or if you think it's not my place to criticize your decisions I apologize and will not do it again.>>1228708Oh right, I meant north, not south. basically the idea is that Cederians as an ethnicity are more widespread than Cederia itself, and I am aiming to get minorities here and there around it for some interesting political situations.
>>1228756I am willing to make the region between the back and red line 40 - 47% Cedrian.

>>1229250Going to be dropping in a bit more ffluf for the Ottobassid's
>>1226468here is some extra fluffRed is the clan of Angrun. In the past they were known for their raids on the mainland, but now they form the majority of the non-azenar army. They are envious of many other clans, but with the discovery of vast reserves of oil in their lands, they are poised to become very wealthy indeed.purple is the clan of Beryt. the three islands once contained more clans than the rest of the nations combined, but Beryt managed to destroy them all in totality and directly absorbed them instead of vassalization. They are the main source of colonists, so much of the wealth of the new world goes to them that it almost rivals the tribute given to clan Azenar.Yellow is the Clan of Azenar. They were known for their brutality, unorthodox methods, and their use of the mainland's past grievences against the other clans to great effect. This allowed them to gain control of the other clans and unify the isles, until a recent war with Säljardöd had half of the mainland taken over. This resulted in the previous despot being executed, half of the ancestral lands of Azenar being taken(represented by orange), and lost two clans to a foreign power. Despite this the clan is still fabously wealthy, still has a strong standing army that is personally loyal to Azenar, and is by far the most industrailized compared to any of the other clans.blue is the clan of Merytos. by far the least aggresive clan, they realized early on that it was in their best interests to subjugate themselves to clan Azenar if they wished to be spared. They are the farmers and lumberers of the nation and while the other clans view them with disdain, they have no real grievances with any of them.Pink is the clan of Jukrad. Originally from the mountains they slowly migrated south until the reached the fork in the river where they decided to settle down. They were the miners and builders of the nation. In order to spite their rivals, Jukrad would often intentially pollute the river so downstream it would cause disease amongst their enemy. This practice was eventually stopped through heavy handed measures, but now Azenar is not there to stop them.
>>1226468Brown is the clan of Skida. they once owned the entirity of the river, but the clan of Jukrad forced them off. This has caused a legendary feud that still goes on today. While they have not explored or colonized the new world like Beryt. They still had a sizable fishing fleet that alone was enough to feed half of the entire nation by itself. Skida does not like Azenar, but the pure hatred they have for Jukrad ensures that their subversive tendancies are directed elsewhere. With the current occupying government being so weak, it is likely that a new civil war erupt between the two clans, as even when under control by Azenar they never actually stopped fighting eachother entirely.Green is the clan of Sude. They are the traders of the nation and had a long history of slaves, usury, and blatant cheating. They are unique in that they never really focused on dominon of their fellow clans, but instead try to destroy all the other merchant empires. While not many colonists come from their ranks, somehow the wealth that goes to other clans comes to them. They do not care about Azenar's soverignty over them, as the "unified" nation is the perfect enviroment for them to do business and no attempts to stop their practices against the rival republics has ever happened.
>>12288141/2Expanding the Rodenian fluff. After the unification by Seculus the Great,th nation entered a period of prosperity. It was peacful trading nation with an absolute monarchy as head of state, avoiding wars at all cost.Peace brought presperity, and after the discovery of the new world the king funded many voyages and colonization attempts. After gaining large holdings in the new world they moved to other continenets, creating a worldwide colonial empire wich generated astronomical gains, wich were put into technology reasearch allowing rodenia to industrialse way before the rest of the world. All those colonial possestions required a great fleet to protect them, and such fleet was bulit and it remains pride of Rodenia to this day.It seemed that Rodenia had essenitaly wn the game of international poltics and was undefeatable, but all was to change when a terrible plauge striked in the city of Alvar. The plauge was deadly,it killed people in days making them vomit blood untill painful death. And the worst part? It spread very quickly, soon it was everywhere in Rodenia.Mass famine, dead towns entire cities under qurantine.Eventually the plauge would go away, but there was still the problem of mass famine and in act of foolishns king Sigismun the third ignored the problem and kept living luxiorious life and spending more and more money on bulding of palaces. This was unnacaptable for the people of Rodenia, they declared a rebellion against Sigismund the third and fought in all cities.Although there was no major battles, there were constant fightes in the cities and especialy the capital, city of Kestvar. The King initialy planned to fight until lthe revolutionaries were defeated but his army was unable to make any serious gains against the limitless hordes of revolutonaries.Eventually, after being delivered ultimatum by the commander of his forces saying that "They refuse to continue to fight gainst people of rodenia" and "If your majesty refuses to accept the demands f the revolutionries,i and all forces under my command will side with them",the king accepted and peace negotiations started.During the negotiations famous Rodenian contitution was accepted with overwhelming majority of 395 voted for and only 5 votes against wich created a parliment that was according to the said contitution "free from an influence of the rodesian moarch" and answered "Only before God and people of Rodesia."Moreover the king was limited to only a representative function and majority of his palaces were ceased and its content sold in order to gain money for rebulding of the country. The revolution however, was noticed by the outside forces and during the fight with the king most of the colonies were lost either to independence movements or other colonial or local powers. However the rodenian goverment managed to defend the trading cities, and althugh the fields of cotton and etc. were lost, the cities remained in Rodenian control.
>Government Type:Imperial Caliphate - The Sultan is both the supreme political ruler, and the supreme religious leader. He is granted his position as a hereditary title, but in truth must be affirmed by both the lords of the empire and the Imam's of the faith. The Imperial Council is his cabinet of chosen national leaders selected by him, headed by the Grand Vizier who acts as prime minister. The government can be described as separated into two classes, the stronger Central government which is based off of military rule and heirarchy and is responsible for macromanagement of the nation and comprises the various Generals, Governors, and princes, the Provincial government which manages the territories individually via judges, local city leaders and handles day to day civil affairs. The Empire maintains a strict military like structure through the Central government, thus, military heirarchy is key to ascending in rank both politically and militarily. While hereditary titles still exist for land and inheritance, political power, wealth, and prestigate can be just as much earned. This ensures the empire is maintained by encouraging leaders to be interested in maintaining the military order of the empire despite its vast size and diversity, while also providing for vassals and tribute nations to effectively rule their domestic affairs autonomously provided they submit to the taxes and decrees outlined by the Central government.
>>1230102So what about a Christianity analogue - do we all have similar to the same religion (slash, for the socialists, heritage of religion)?
>>12300792/2In face of loss of the colonies Rodenia acceoted the "post policy" wich means that they have to control thetrading cities all over the world,in wich rodenian state companies, each appointed its region would buy the goods from local populace and seel it in other parts of the world.Although now as profitable a snormal colonia policy, this was reduced the manpower needed to guard them and still allowed to make Rodenia huge profits through trade and afford the most powerful and modern navy in the world.Rodenian army is very modern, relying rther on quality than quanity, prefering to focus on artillary rather than infantry equipment( that does not mean that infantry is neglected,it still has high quality rodenian equipment and goas through a long traing).Rodenia prefers using its fleet to resolve conflicts, threating to blockade its enemies untill they are bankrupt unless they accept their demands.Althouhg a few nations still refused the offer,Rodenia brutally bloackaded them and used its fleet to shell their cities as an example to show what happens to those who dare to fight with rodenia. But Rodenia is still prepared for land combat,it relies on sendin its elite landing troops and navy to make it easy for the mian army to land.Once there the Rodenian army prefers a defensive tactic of bulding trenches and using its advanced artillery to obliterate the enemy army.In order to make this tactic as effective as possible,Rodenia spends even more time and resources on traing its artillary operators, and to a lesser extent sappers.
>>1230102Cities:1. Ayubassid - The 2nd largest city and the political and cultural capital of the Empire. holds the imperial palace and the palace of lords where the princes meet for any type of big occasion, and the main headquarters of the imperial army. Has the most sophisticated elements of the Imperial armed forces. Numerous forts and firing platforms are built both in the mountains overlooking the city and along the river to defend against attacks up river by ships. 2. Xandros - A moderate city primarily dedicated to the naval and military base. Acts as the 2nd primary naval installation where the Imperial fleet tends to be docked, and defends the bay entering toward the capital. Has a large historical lighthouse which has been upgraded with the new modern lightbulb and is a decently relevant historical symbol3. Mashad - Mountainous city originally a fortress of one of the old sultans. Looks over the northern shorelines.4. Alin - City build around a large lake in the middle of the desert, acts as a major resting point and hub for the great caravanst that travel the length and width of the empire. Is by far the most diverse of its cities, with many elements from the deepest south and is a legendary market of exotic goods.5. Cyrus - The largest city in the empire, primarily due to its rich river delta that makes the region around it green. Was once the capital of an older empire, whose pyramidal structures are still seen today. Is the major source of food in the Empire, seconded only by the vast stockpiles arriving in from the south. Has a decently sized naval port that is mostly busy with shipping the food around the empire than military affairs.
>>1230142read>>1226854City names1 - Kestvar2 - Deshvar3-Glessan4 - Trisan5 - FedanRodenian culture is closest to our west slavic culture.
>>1230137I leave the creation of that to the northern power that wishes to have one, i'm open to some interesting religious conflict. I'm not sure if anyone else has a faith atm.>>12301476. Mogdash - A very old sprawling urban center of poorly designed buildings mashed together, it was once a hidden city home to a rogue group of pirates and brigands. These very same groups were eventually convinced into becoming a loyal vassal of the empire in exchange for political protection. Is an almost autonomous vassal ruled by Kassad Fraha Aided, who manages several different tribal clans and gangs within the city. These clans are often in a state of conflict with each other, and are always attempting to manuacture firearms to outgun their competition in the city streets. As a result, the people of Mogadash are very often recruited as urban guerilla fighters due to their constant exposure to close quarters urban warfare and useage of improvised firearms. One of their favorite tactics is using gasoline trucks with machine guns or small cannons mounted on the back to mow down opponents.7. Hemet - A small naval town that acts as a resting hub for ships on very long voyages to the south or the far east beyond the sea. Has a modern constructed lighthouse. Mostly serves to resupply and refuel ships for their journeys either to or fro the big Imperial cities or to the colonies or other trade partners far far away.8. Acmha - The religious capital of the Empire and the Faith, resting place of the Prophet, and houses the first Temple. Thousands of pilgrims from both inside the Empire and from the colonies to the south trek here to give worship and praise, and many historical artforms and documents are here.
>>1230166Also the borders of the peninsula and ROdenia itself are havily fortified.
>>1230137Yeah,it would be cool to create a christian religion with a "pope" controlled by OP.It would make for some nice political events
>>1230171I was planning on each clan to have a patron god, and the divine hierarchy is the same as the earthly one.
>>1230171Also,we should have a holy city in Ottobassid territory, wich should be holy both for us and the ottobassids.
>>1230171>ColoniesThe Ottobassid "Colonies" are often just far off Vassal states they have proselytized to the faith and established some local resource collation. Alin - The alin desert tribes are a nomadic group, often on camelback and caravans. While their largest city rests within the empire, they have a smaller caravan hub to the south of the desert. They are fierce warriors skilled at firing guns from horseback at speed and have a scimitar that they eagerly use. An interesting tactic by them is to take small light cannons or machine guns and mount them on chariot wheels. They provide the empire both with caravan services, and a great number of cavalrymen.Ghanistah - The Ghanistah has called the "tombstone of Empires" for its people are brutally efficient at mountainous guerilla warfare and survival. Wherever a goat can go, they easily tread and bring a cannon and a gun with them. Where foreign armies struggle to find food in the mountains, they easily survive and even thrive being able to spot edible plant life and follow goat and ram tracks to prey.Skilled at fighting in rocky terrain, they are good at finding caves and digging tunnel networks, and when defending against a superior force try to outmaneuver and snipe them from odd angles and difficult to reach places. They might have defended their lands from Ottobassid rule for a hundred years had our Imam's not spread the faith to them. Their mountains are rich in ores while their valleys are wealthy in poppy and wheat.Zuul - The great Zuul tribes who come from vast savannah area. These tribal warriors have a fanatical courage, and are willing to lay down their lives for their chief and pride. In battles they face an enemy in huge ranks, either out in the open or behind a hill for cover, and make loud and terrible battle chants before charging to impale their foes. The Ottobassid arm these warriors, replacing their spears with rifles and especially shotguns tipped with bayonets at the end, increasing their deadliness with the ability to shoot deadly sprays of shotgun pellets at close range before jabbing into any survivors. The warriors are trained to run and how to hunt and chase game, even the antelope or the zebra. As a result, they are to the man, fast and lean, and not keen on wearing body armor. But, where other regiments march into battle, a A Zuul horde can run 50 miles and fight a battle at the end of it.Zamoan - Furthest south in the dark continent, in a deep jungle where the sun does not reach and only the rain drips down, are the the warrior tribe of the Zamoan women. Deadly at camoflague in almost any kind of forest or jungle, they are skilled at stealth in foliage and bush and tree. A very savage people not all of the Zamoan tribes are with us, both those that are are respected for their ability to kill without being seen. Their jungle provides a great assortment of exotic fruits, animals, and lumber and their rivers are rich in gold and diamonds.
