Deep in the sinister broiling lands of Mordor, an ancient evil was awoken once more. Sauron, apprentice of the once mighty Morgoth, rises to seize his master's vile throne, and declare himself Dark Lord. Malicious and wicked things heed his call, as they travel to Mordor in search of their new master. Your existence is one of pain and dread, horrid suffering that no living thing should stand. In the rank pit you are ripped apart, broken, melted, drowned, decayed, tortured. Your very soul is molded by the agony, twisted and mutated till it is no longer recognizable.

From above you beg for mercy, but none comes and you continue to stir. There is but one escape. Your claw and scratch and bite, ripping and tearing at the slime keeping you captive. A hole, you see a hole, a hole you made in the fabric. You screech at it, continuing your assault of the wretched barrier that denies you life.

Air. Finally.

(1/2)
>>
>>1229081
You fall suddenly, landing face first upon searing ground. Though your ears ring you hear the muffled screams and churning of damnable magics. You feel yourself hefted, pushed and throw about, and you’re sick of it.

How do you answer?

>Lash out violently (1d20)

>Run through, must run. (1d20)

>Kill the things attacking you. (1d20)

You lash out violently, striking with your newly formed limbs. You hear a crack from in front of your, followed by yelping and cursing. Your vision begins to focus as you now see around you. You are in a cave of some sort, surrounded by other pits, where monsters of all shape and size are treated the same. Some hunchbacked and others facially deformed, all of them carried out from this hellish place.

(+1 to Attack rolls!)

Despite your fight and the injury dealt your captors, you are dragged away through a tunnel of sorts, and a blinding light sets your vision immediately back to horrendous standard. Though you are temporarily blinded, you can still make out shapes around you of what appears to be huts and some kind of numerous racks of weapons. Helmets, shields and swords are all plentiful, but you are led further out.

Suddenly, you are forced to the ground, and thrown out along with some rudimentary clothes. It smells of rot and blood, but it’s cured. Leather. You hear yammering, yelling at you, “Get oiut ya git!”.

A shuffle of feet later and you are alone in what appears to be a sort of valley, residue of slime clinging to your forehead like some sick parody of afterbirth. You equip the leather armor (+1 Damage Resistance!) and wipe the filth from your forehead.

Now what?

>Wander, find food. (Tracker set)
>Find someone, or something, else (Raider/Beast Master set)
>Fuck food, fuck social skills, find some weapons and FIGHT (Berserker Set)
>Simply walk, or wait for something to happen

While your stomach feels empty and your rage is immense, you decide to temper both and simply begin walking, opting to vent both at a later time. The first few steps are little more than stumbling, but soon you are almost rhythmically marching along, picking your feet up to a tune of war. A drum sounds and a horn plays in your ears though no instruments are near you. It’s almost, instinctual. Along the way you find an abandoned fire pit, a still roasting rodent upon the spit. Both the embers and the cooked meal… call to you.

(Arsonist or Glutton set)

In the same pit, you find a… hand. A pink fleshed hand, severed from its owner, blood still on the ground. Must have been recent. You want to taste it. The blood and the bone and the sinew. You want to find the rest of the owner, cut off his other hand. Season it with something!

(Butcher set)

Your fantasizing is cut short however. A crow lands upon the severed hand. Black, beady eyes staring straight back at you at is pecks at the soon to be rotten flesh.

(Crow or Raven set)

All of this is seeming so… natural to you.

>Pick an ember from the fire (Arson)

>Take the squirrel and the spit (Glutton)

>Take the hand, cut it open, and fillet it! (Butcher)

>The bird speaks to you… you should listen. (Raven/Crow)

>Simply keep walking. (Abandons current sets, gives only three others.)

file name is supposed to have an R, so sue me

The fire seems warm. Even though it’s only embers now, the warm glow of blazes past beckons you. Kneeling down in front of the fire pit, you pick the ember from the ashes. It doesn’t even burn your calloused hand, your skin seemingly too thick for its heat. This is now your most prized possession.

Arsonist Set Acquired!

You pocket the small thing in a pouch that came with your leather garments, making sure to line it with some cool dirt. It’s warmth shall protect you, and its fire shall be your weapon… weapon!

It’s just dawned on you that you are without weapon, totally defenseless! Not even a sturdy stick! However, you notice there are some spare things about. Noticeably bits and pieces of metal and wood and bone. Hell, there’s even a damaged shield in one of the corners! Perfect!

>Choose your weapon!

>Take some gnarled metal, wrap it in something for a handle. You now have a sword! (+1 attack rolls, -1 dex, +1 agility)

>You found a long stick, and some bones or some metal. A spear! (+2 attack rolls, -1 Agility, +1 Intelligence)

>None of these are to your liking… maybe a cleaver of sorts? (+2 Attack rolls, -1 Defense, -1 Intelligence)

>You can take a stick, put some rocks or metal on it… that’s a club! (+1 Strength, -1 Intelligence)

Your surroundings are littered with broken scrap and raw materials, twine and sticks and the like. You could easily fashion yourself a weapon for the time being. You do just that, grabbing a particularly thick stick, you fashion it into a handle and take the metal scraps, driving them into the top and secure them with twine. It’s a menacing looking thing, with jagged edges perfect for cutting into flesh and stabbing through bone. Almost reminds you of yourself in some odd way.

Finally, you take up the abandoned shield from the corner of the wall it’s situated on (+2 to Defense Rolls!). It’s a small thing of wood, surrounded by a metal ring with handles for easy- “HEY!”

You turn around to notice another Uruk standing at the entrance to the ruins. He’s got a metal sword and nicer clothes than you. You don’t like that.

“Das’ me shield! Gib it back!” He yells, running at you.

What do you do?
>Defend yourself, initiate combat!

>Throw the shield at his feet, run.

>Bash him with the shield, initiate combat!

On a side note, the battle system has only been tested once, so if you do fight this guy and we run into a hitch, I apologize. Real sorry.

Are we going to meet best Uruk though?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Q3ng5FXscg
>>
No. There’s something else entirely… something warm. You need something warm. The thrill of the fight is fading, leaving your veins cold and clammy. You feel empty. Need light need warmth need… fire. You gather up some wood and stray debris, leaves, grass and things. Flint and steel at the ready you drag the pained Uruk to the fire and place his head upon the altar. With the flint and steel you light his hair on fire, subsequently lighting up the pit, igniting the beautiful flames.

Agonized, high pitched screams come from the sacrifices mouth. He’s trying to deny the fires warmth… trying to escape!? You STOMP your foot on his chest, keeping him down on the ground, head still in and slowly being absorbed into the flame. The smell of burning flesh, the crackling of hair and muscle, a symphony, music more beautiful than you’d ever heard. He struggles, hammering at your leg, trying to lift you off his chest but the effort is futile. Soon he stops moving all around, and you remove yourself from his body. You sit by the bonfire’s side. This must be what the Dark Lord sees everyday… you envy him.

It is beautiful.
