It seems I've forgotten everything I once knew so bear with me during some character creation.

Knowledge of the previous Exterminator Quest is helpful but not required for participation. This quest is a fresh start in the same setting a few years later.

An arcade. Dozens of middle-aged men stand around smoking and diddling antique coin-eaters. Some look normal enough; others are missing pieces. Music blares just loud enough to blot out conversation as you chug down another can of Hi-Caffeine and attempt to focus your attention on a game of:

>Street Fighter 13
>Daytona 2041
>Timesplitters 9
>Ultra Hyper Fantastic Finallisimo Dance Dance Revolution: HK Edition

You turn the tide on your opponent, a random challenger whose breath and B.O. had previously allowed him to stun you into submission. Breaking out of your guard with a flurry of well-executed combos and pushing him into the corner, you tear his life bar down from full to a mere sliver. All that's left now is to finish him and you've won the match.

But how?

(pick one and roll 3d6, higher is better)

-Use an especially difficult but flashy combo
-Attempt a throw
-Spam light attacks to try and get one past his guard
-Write-in

Okay, We'll roll with:

>11

You grab your opponent's character and throw them face first into the ground, winning the match. Your challenger groans: that match was the fifth straight win in a best-of-nine set. He now owes you big time. 80 USD worth of big time.

He starts groveling and claiming he wasn't really serious about the money.

"Now hold on just a second there pal, there's no reason for you to welch... Ya see, I'm willing to offer you the opportunity to pay in monthly installments"

"Wha-"

You whip out your phone and pull up an app for quickly generating legally binding contracts.

"Just give me a few of your personal details... Yes, that's it. Press your thumb down here, yup. Perfect. A minimum payment of 5 a month and a monthly interest rate of, oh 15% sound fair? Good, good. Alright, we're all done!"

"Wow, technology these days!"

"Yeah, it's the latest Scyth app. Automatically calls them if you default."

You grin evilly at your former challenger as the consequences of failing to pay up sink in. Then he leaves without a word.

Hmm. It's getting kind of late. Don't you have somewhere to be?

Well, you were supposed to be there an hour and a half ago but fashionably late suits your style.

Stepping out of the arcade and into the street, you use your phone to summon your car, a white Arcadia 556. It's a sleek luxury vehicle that runs (as all cars do in this day and age) on electricity, giving it a sort of whisper-quiet elegance as it pulls itself around from the parking garage.

The air is chilly so you get in rather eagerly; your constitution is not given to extremes in temperature. Inside the car, you're given the usual choice.

In the comfy confines of your luxury vehicles you turn on some ancient FIDLAR and accelerate.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmcpl55pWu8

The streets of Hong Kong have changed a lot in the past few years. Many of the historical buildings have vanished, demolished and replaced by ever higher concrete monstrosities. Not that you're one to criticize; you work for MedCorp. But tonights your night off and you're going to enjoy it to the fullest.

Weaving in and out of traffic, you narrowly avoid collision with another manual driver whose going the wrong way down a one way in a brown fastback. You honk but only have a second to dodge his pursuer, a hulking Scyth on a motorcycle.

Shaken, you regain your cool and arrive at the Flaming Skull. Loud music reverbrates from within the bar, so people probably shouldn't notice you when you walk in.

Whats the first thing you want to do when you get inside?

Summoning your self-confidence you seek out the hottest chick around. There's plenty of attractive locals running around and a healthy mix of ex-pats but not much seems to tickle your pickle until you spot a brunette in bright green short-shorts and a blue and yellow top sitting at the bar. Something about the way she brushes back her hair before taking a sip of an rust-colored opaque beverage tells you she's the best choice around.

"Hey, your hair looks great!"

She turns, reacting to the sound of your voice. It happens almost in slow motion- you see her eyes go wide, her grip loosen on her drink, it tumbles, strikes the scuffed wood of the bar, spins and hurls fluid all over your pant leg, then finally smashes into the floor. An involuntary shriek.

You grimace but she makes an honest attempt to regain her composure, covering her mouth with her hand as she frantically reaches with the other for some napkins with which to help you dry your pants.

"Ohmigosh, I'm so sorry..."

"It's alright, I get that sometimes... maybe I could buy you another drink?"

"Yeah, I think that'd be alright you know you have a really charming, uh..."

"Transepidermia. That's what the doctors call it anyhow. It's all right if it takes a little getting used to, I'm-"

"Hey, hey Sun Mu!"

A hand claps down on your shoulder.

"Where you been man? And where's your drink?!"

"Oh, I got held up at work-"

"Don't give me that shit Sun! We both know today's your day off."

"Alright, you got me, I was at an art gallery.

"Oh, for who?" asks Kate, obviously intrigued by your sudden display of worldliness.

"Just one of my friends in the Chinese Scene, 'Deng Li', you've heard of him right?"

"Is he the one who explodes models of the human body?"

"Yeah-"

"Oh come on, Sun. You were at the arcade! I saw your IB post about beating that guy!"

"Well, I don't mean to sound rude but I'm actually waiting for someone..."

You know what that means.

"Struck out again, eh buddy?" Dennis ribs you on your way back to the table.

"Yeah, yeah. This is why I prefer video games to coming out with you guys..."

"SUN! SUN MU!"

Mina and Alexsandr yell out your name from the table as you spot you. Dennis snickers and then apologizes.

"Sorry mate, we've been drinking for almost 2 hours."

"SUN MU. SUN MU."

It's becoming a chant.

Sitting down with Dennis you ask him where Deng is.

"Ah, you know him. He's up in the mosh pit. I think he's already bloodied some noses over there. Hold up!"

Dennis waves down a fashionably grimy looking waitress and orders you some bourbon shots.

As you get introspective, Deng Li suddenly arrives by way of being thrown across your table.

"Holy shit!"

The battered and bruised mess of your friend slides to the ground, dripping blood from his face. A massive man stands opposite from where he lays.

"You little piece of shit, I'll fucking kill you if you ever come near my girl again!"

With the aid of some of the strongest muscles in the human body you jam your toes directly into the mans dangling genitalia at high velocity. He doubles over in pain and Dennis relaxes.

"Jesus, that might have been a little overkill Sun."

"I just wanted to defuse the situation quickly and efficiently."

"That was quick and efficient alright but uh-"

Dennis gestures with his eyes at the man's rapidly approaching friends. They don't look happy.

Just as you begin to frantically formulate a plan to deal with them, the lights go off and the music stops. All you can hear is the murmuring of people and the groaning of Deng Li and the downed man.

> Deng Li spits out a tooth.

Going a little far for a punch up, damn.

I'm depending on what kind of place this is, I say we stall for security to intervene.

Or at best just say "Hey,this guy already messed Deng Li up, we were just ending it because he didn't seem willing to let it go before real harm happened. Let's all just leave it here while everyone still has all their bits. I'll even buy a round for you guys to get the night moving again."

That's my vote at least, talk while waiting to see what's going on with the music and such stopping.

On the other hand, if this is a place with no security I say we smash a bottle and hold it to the angry dude whose nuts we kicked in neck and tell his friends to back the fuck off unless they want this shit to go balls to the walls. They can either walk away now while it's just a scrap, or they can find out why bar fights are different in real life than in the movies.

It's a shady sort of spot, your friends are the kind of skeezy mix of drug addicts and talented people that wealthy people tend to attract so they're looking to avoid law and order types...

I think what you propose would be a good option ic, going to work to make this a more... subtle exterminator quest? Though writing this reminded me of nothing more than Orc Bouncer Quest (in a good way).
>>
>>1232173
I just don't see why we have to fight these dudes. Our guy took his lumps, we used the minimum of force to end it. Nothing for anyone to gain here.

Heck the only issue I can see is if Deng Li runs his mouth in which case we can inform him that we aren't obliged to cash the cheques his mouth writes and WE might give him a knock for ruining our pussy hunt.
>>
>>1232716
If he is still running his mouth, I say punch him one in the mouth, and once in the throat. Dumbass deserves it at that point.
