In which the lights have gone out at a party.

Rules: http://pastebin.com/qnSn6GUU
Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/2gx5bYkw

Several awkward seconds of darkness pass in relative silence, with the exception of someone who thought it would be funny to yell "I'm blind!".

Then the door is kicked down and suddenly you really are blind as high intensity Scyth tactical beams sweep the room.

"Police! Nobody move!"

>-1 Nerves

Instinctively people begin to run, breaking windows and vanishing into back rooms. The Scyth point man fires a taser net on a nearby group of concert goers, bringing four of them down in one spazzing heap. They've barely hit the ground before more Scyths begin to flood the room.

Mina and Dennis have already leaped out of the booth and are scrambling to get out of a window although they're impeded by numerous others with the same idea. Deng Li began running for the back of the bar but has been knocked over by others and is barely able to avoid being trampled.

You are the wealthy scion of a business magnate. On your person you have a small vial of illegal cocaine for special occasions, your MedCorp ID, a Patek Phillipe wrist watch, and $200. You are also a disgusting mutant.

You ponder your options.

STR/STA: 3/3

Whooooa, it's this thing. Can't take part right now, but I'm watching it. Got some catching up to do.

Alrighty. I'm watching the thread to keep it going.

Rolling the rest of the result but that's probably the best of three.

>Top roll : 17

>Other results were 5,1,4 and 5,4,3 respectively.

You flee to the back of the bar and pull Deng Li to his feet. He doesn't look too much worse for the wear - not worse than he already was.

All around you people are screaming but the place is draining out rapidly and stragglers are being "detained" with increasingly vicious efficiency.

The two of you waste no time in elbowing aside some less fortunate souls and pushing your way out the back exit. You find yourself in a cramped alleyway full of rotting bar trash. On one end is a chain link fence and on the other end are three Scyth advancing slowly with taser nets at the ready on a crowd of anxious looking but numerous patrons. They look like they might either surrender or charge the police at the drop of a hat.

Deng Li cocks his head meaningfully towards the chain link fence.

>Run towards the crowd and try and get them to charge the police so you can escape in the chaos onto the streets (3d6 + a modifier for how you choose to agitate them)
>Try to climb the fence (3d6+3)
>Tell Deng Li you're surrendering yourself

I'll roll for you.
>6, 1, 4
>2, 2, 1
>2, 1, 3

>Top result: 11 + 3 = 14

You clamber up the chain link fence as the Scyths begin to fire on the crowd and help pull up Deng Li before crashing down on the other side on still more bags of garbage. Something bursts and sprays fluid all over your designer clothes on impact but reeking for the rest of your day is a small price to pay for your relatively unscathed escape.

Looking around it appears you're in a small network of alleyways behind the businesses on this block. There are plenty of side paths but nothing seems to lead clearly to the street.

>aimlessly wander around these back alleys
>try to use your phone's map software to see what this place looks like from above
>try and enter into one of the nearby buildings

Give Deng Li the blow and help him climb the fence, then convince the other people to surrender by telling them that this is nothing new, and they can choose to either peacefully go alon, or get tazed and taken to jail with extra charges. Your Dad always says "You can only fight the law in Court".

Yes indeed. I almost regret having a social life that prevents me from running at peak hours like I used to. Almost.

>use your phones software to see what this place looks like from above

The screams are subsiding behind you but you and Deng Li have hopefully put enough distance between yourselves and the police to buy yourself a little time.

You pull out your phone and get a satellite image of the area. It appears the nearest exit means running straight ahead, taking the third right and the first left. You take the opportunity to call your car around to the site of the exit.

"Do you hear that?" says Deng Li and you do. The sound of electric turbines.

"DO NOT RESIST!" declares an authoritarian voice from the on-board speakers of a drone you still haven't spotted yet.

>Run as fast as you can (3d6 + optional STR/STA boost using 2 points from your pool (Currently 3/3))
>Grab a nearby brick and attempt to ambush the drone with Deng Li if it comes towards you (3d6)
>Hide in the trash

>Hide in the trash

Fuck it our suit is already ruined.

Also I'm having trouble ease so many quests are running right now.
>>
>>1262517

>Hide in the trash

You fling yourself into one of the massive piles of trash just in time as the drone zips by just seconds later.

"We're lucky. They must not have been watching the infrared feed." hisses Deng Li from beside you.

"Or we were obscured by all this warm trash. This stuff is alarmingly warm Deng..."

"Don't think about what's in it. Just run for the car."

The two of you scramble out of the trash. Drones can be heard zooming around surrounding alleys but they don't appear to be doubling back. Your white Arcadia is waiting for you right where you emerge back onto the street. Never has a car looked so much like salvation.

You and Deng climb in without a word and get yourselves as far away as you possibly can.

Once the adrenaline has died down you begin unleashing your pent up questions on Deng.

"What the fuck was that about?"

"Hell if I know! Why should a bunch of cops bust up a harmless little party like that?"

>Harmless! You got busted in the face!
>Fucking Scyths, they must have been after something.
>Try to intimidate Deng to see if he knows anything (3d6+3)

Give him some blow to make him chatty
>>
>>1262612

You offer Deng some cocaine but he refuses.

"I want to but I can't. I've got to cool down. If you could just drop me by my studio... No, actually drop me at the Lion's Rock Motel. If they got an image of my face they might come asking questions in the morning."

>I doubt it, you should go back to your studio.
>The motel sounds like a good idea.
>You could always come back to my place. A lot of rich fucks live there so the front table has standing orders to turn away cops.

>You could always come back to my place. A lot of rich fucks live there so the front table has standing orders to turn away cops.

Plan B - get him drunk back at the house.
>>
>>1262703

You offer to let him stay at your place and he gladly accepts.

"You still have that pullout, right? I still have dreams about that thing. I swear it's better than my own bed..."

Driving home at full speed, you decide the first thing you're going to do is break out the alcohol. The second will be to try and get some answers out of Deng.

>Quest will resume on Saturday at 8pm. Sorry for stopping but it's 1 AM and I've got only one player. At least you escaped the party!
>>
>>1262740
Thanks for running regardless!
>>
>>1262838

No problem, and thanks for the thanks. Helps keep me from feeling underwhelmed.
