Truth or Dare Endgame

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Pokemon%20Island%20Adventure%20Quest
https://twitter.com/GobbleQM
Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice cheat sheet: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first. Infact, you can do more than one move in a row like the anime, but so can your opponents.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Totodile)

Badges: 2

“Truth.” You tell Jane.

She adjusts herself in her seat to face you more directly. You feel like the light of the room is being sucked away. The noise fades and she becomes the only thing in your vision.

You feel a bead of sweat roll down your forehead.

“What did you do in the cl-”

Hana squeeks, causing Jane to look over to her. The evil, “gotcha” look she has falters, then fades. She leans back instead and sighs. \

But then another, even scarier look comes over her face. “What’s the biggest lie you’ve told to someone on this boat?”

You haven’t-

Wait. The dream with the huge pokemon that made you promise not to say anything. Your eyes go to Keira, then back to Jane. When you look back at Jane, you can tell it’s already related to Keira.

Besides that, you never said anything about bone clip Polu gave you. Your eyes dash to him for a fraction of a second, and you internally smack yourself for doing that. Jane’s eyes are lit up. But that’s just not saying anything, so does that count as a lie?

>Dare instead
>You left out details of your vision quest
>Polu gave you a weird bone-clip

Keira giggles. “The biggest lie Herb probably told anyone in his life is to protect a recipe.” She sticks her tongue out at you, trying to pick up Laki’s job of teasing you while she’s indisposed in the closet.

“Like his secret sauce or something.” Polu reaches over to give you a playful shot in the arm and join in on the fun.

“Secret sauce.” Hana mumbles and fidgets. You see a crack of a smile, though.

“Dare.” You say, avoiding eye contact. You feel the room stare at you, and a little bit of suspicion grow. “Not my secrets to tell. I can’t break a promise.”

Jane smiles wickedly. “Alright. I dare you to take on someone in a game of shot for shot. Drink until one of you gives up.” She motions to Laki’s bottle.

Is she trying to get you drunk? What’s she planning?

“Would Laki be okay with that?”

Before anyone can answer the rhetorical question, Keira walks over and opens the closet door to ask.

“FINE! SURE!” Laki slams the closet door back closed. You couldn’t see much from this angle, but you did see Valerie with very messed up hair.

“Alright. How about you?”

“Good choice, bro.” Polu says.

Jane raises an eyebrow.

“I can’t wait to see Jane barf.” He jokes and moves to bunch her shoulder. She doesn’t laugh, and he decides to keep his hand to himself. “Kidding. This is a bonding practice.” He tells you both. “Peers, colleagues, rivals. Anyone who’s expecting to see a lot of someone else and really work together. Or as a peace offering. You know, getting to know someone with their guard down.”

“I knew that!” Jane grabs a shot glass and downs it.

Well, here goes. You pick yours up and toss back your chin.

“Oh! That’s not so bad.” You inspect the bottle. You’ve handled a lot of intense tastes in your time. Sure, it’s a bit burny, but you think you can do this.

Jane looks worried. Alright! You can win!

Then it hits you. You’re a lot less cocky about your followup shots. AFter a few more, you’re really slowing down. She seems to hate the taste but keep her composure, and you don’t mind the taste but keep slurring your words.

“Slowing down?” She mocks. How is she so sober looking? She hasn’t lost her composure at all, besides the cringe from the taste of each shot.

“I. ahm...Guh. I can’t.” You shake your head. You put your drink down. Oh jeez, the ship isn’t rocking, is it? “I give up.”

Jane leaps up! “Victor-[hic] victory!” She stumbles forward and pokes you in the chest. “In your fashe!”

The dares and truths go around a bit longer before Laki and Valerie come out.

“What the Snorlax fart happened here?” Laki says, looking over the scene, laughing a little.

The others explain, and Keira apologizes for lowering the amount in her bottle. Laki sighs. “It’s fine. In fact, I dare you and Polu and Hana to finish it. That’s what it’s for, right? Plus you can handle it, you try enough teas and herbs.”

“Those are for rituals.” Keira says. “Mostly.”

You and Jane end up slow dancing off to the side. Someone dared someone, you forget who. You’ve lost track.

You glance over to Hana. She seems just a touch more outgoing right now with the others. She occasionally gives you a look to make sure you’re okay too.

“Thish is [hic] humiliating.” Jane says. “I mean, for you. I’m leading.” Her grin is a lot more playful now. She tilts her head back and giggles. But she quickly shakes that off and puts on her serious face again. “So, what was that promise, hmmm?”

>>1297404
I actually do anti-vote a lot, they way you do it is if there is an option you really don't like you wait a min or two then vote for the most popular other option while not caring one way or the other about it. It's probably not a good mindset but I can't help it.
>>
>>1297450
The problem with that is Gobble is a nice person and merges things together, so if you don't say you are against something it might get said even if not even half the people voted for it.
>>
>>1297457
well it's the only game in town since anti-voting is not a thing, nor should it be a thing as it is pretty unhealthy for a game in my opinion.
>>
>>1297341
Aagh you started while I'm at work! You horrible monster! I'll catch up once I'm home.

How long are you running tonight?
>>
She twirls you.

“I wasn’t joking about keeping my promises. You’re cute when you laugh, by the way.” You tell her bluntly. Speaking is a lot easier than dancing.

She laughs again, but this time for much briefer. She pulls her guard up twice as hard as before. “Enough taunting. Just because you’ve got everyone [hic] hanging off you doesn’t mean I’ll fall for it. Stop it, okay?”

You dip her without thinking about it. “I mean it.”

She looks you in the eyes when you pull her back up. There’s an awkward moment.

“Stop it...” She sounds like she’s on the verge of crying. She pulls it back together again. “You’re always doing that. Itshz underhanded. A girls heart is... it’s a precious thing, okay?”

“Jane. I d-”

“Everyone get naked!” you hear Keira shout. She’s standing over a defeated Polu and throwing off her shirt. There’s still the body paint, but it doesn’t hide her shape at all. She leaps around the room tossing off people’s clothes for them and jumping out of reach before they can stop her.

“You too!” She takes Gobble’s skirt. He modestly covers himself. He’s consoled when he’s offered a banana from Tropius. Someone put a little cape on Mace, and he refuses through dead weight to give it up to Keira, causing her to finally get caught and and restrained by the others. Chattot keeps yelling for everyone to get naked though, and a lot of random articles are missing, from hats to socks and things in between.

You leap a little when you feel a pinch on your butt. Jane laughs maniacally. “Ha! You fell for my rouse. Drop you guard and I won’t hesitate to attack, rival!”

You don’t entirely buy that, but she seems happy so you let it go and join the others.

You have no idea whose turn it is anymore, or who went, or what. You watch as Laki loses an arm wrestle with Hana, Polu describes his crush and the girls all make a collective “awww” noise about it, and things just sort of fizzle out after that.

“Hey, what movie were we going to watch?” You ask.

Hana leaps up! “Okay! We have a few choice. It depends what we’re all in the mood for!”

She describes a few of them. She’s seen them all a million times but she’s still excited to see any one of them. What sort of mood do you want to end the night on?

“Horror?” You ask everyone. They all seem fine with that choice except for Valerie.

“But...” Valerie leans in, “What if the ghost comes back?”

“We’re fine. I’ve got it!” Keira rises up. “Mischiefigus... mischievous spirit! If you hear me, lishen closhe.” She snorts, and barely holds up a charm. “I g-guguide,” Keira falls forward, “I guide you to kiss my tushie!” She giggles, then presents it and slaps it.

“I don’t think it saw. Do it again.” Hana quietly encourages.

“Good job, lightweight. I’m sure we’re fine now.” Laki lifts her and sets her onto the couch.

Valerie pokes her fingers together and squishes herself in the middle of the group.

The lights are turned down and the movie starts. A series of blankets are tossed to everyone to get comfy and popcorn is handed out. Neat! This is what it’s like to be spoiled.

Oh. It’s a Mr. Mime based horror. Your Life Is Mime 3: Third Mime’s a Charm. Your usual luck is staying true today. You see Mr. Schwibbles smile from the dark hallway, then back out into the darkness.

>>

I'd prefer bad, but not pass out from fear bad. So long as we get something not average or just good.

I just want to hold hands with Jane and have her give us a smug look because we are scared, then promptly be scared along with Herb. Hana and Laki would be fine too

Bad, if it leads to lewd shenanigans

You keep your head up and watch it. You can do this. You don’t have to be afraid of Mr.Mimes.

The yacht suddenly shakes and almost everyone leaps. The only exceptions are Jane and Keira. Laki gets up and checks, and let’s everyone know it’s just Wailmer. She let it out to go find some food and get a nice swim in. She must really trust it if she lets it out at night alone, but you guess a pokemon that size isn’t exactly going to get picked on.

The movie is back on, and there are a few mysterious creaks and groans that are probably the ship just settling.

Probably.

But through it all, and the well placed jump scares, you hold strong. Valerie is between you and Laki and constantly grabbing at you both, to Laki’s delight. Hana has seen the movie a lot, but the mysterious noises in the ship seem to freak her out a bit and she gets in really close. Polu looks like he’s handling it well, but you notice his hand in his hair playing with what you assume is another hairclip. He looks especially uncomfortable when Keira crawls over him like a worm, and then everyone else. You don’t blame him, since she’s just got the body paint and the very loosely worn grass skirt.

Hana looks excited that you and everyone else got into the movie as much as you did. Even Laki has a few moments where she flinches at jump scares, although you suspect some of that is an excuse to put her arm over Valerie and a little on you too. From that look in her eyes, you’d probably be toyed with right now if Valerie wasn’t a buffer.

The movie wraps up and everyone is falling asleep. You feel proud. You got through the whole thing without losing your cool. In fact, you might have kept the mood in the room from spiraling into a terrified huddled mess.

It’s been an eventful night, but if there’s anything you feel you missed, you probably won’t have another chance like this for awhile.

I just wanted to pop in to say this.

Hana is best waifu. Sure, she's had a fucked up past, she broken, but fixing herself. She's a healthy choice for Herb. Herb is a gentleman, very optimistic, and clumsy. Hana tries to protect everyone, is a closet freak, and while sometimes clumsy, her limbs help. Hana has always been looking for a gentleman, someone to help her not feel ugly and she very clearly has feelings for Herb. I think she could help bring out sides of Herb we won't see otherwise. And I think Herb could really help Hana with her insecurities and stuff. They are just enough alike and just enough different to where they'd have a really good relationship. I love Hana's character and I fully support Herbana.

I'm glad the main actor got some time off after Mime 2 Redux: Mime of your Lives to pursue other roles. I'm pretty fond of his role in Secret Life of Combees. It absolutely showed his strength for other roles besides a maniac murderer. Also those three Jynx sisters were pretty great too.
>>
>>1297783

I guess I just really like her character. She respects Herb enough to let him explore himself, whereas I feel Laki might be the type to pressure him a bit. Kiera wouldn't know wtf to do and I also feel like they'd be good together, exploring their different cultures. I'm very interested in seeing how Jane turns out. Laki I feel can teach Herb a lot and get him out of his comfort zone. With Val, I see a very good friendship there.

Well, you’re a little worried about stretching this out too much or going too far in one night, but you guess the latter sort of already happened with Hana. You still can’t really process it. Especially with the room spinning right now.

“Don’t go to sleep yet, you three.” You feel like your tone is a bit Laki-ish right now. “You owe me truths. Or dares.”

There’s a round of mild complaints. But they perk up when you say that you’ll make snacks while they do it. Jane wipes the slobber from her mouth and perks herself up.

Keira flops over the kitchen island, then lands into a roll. That’s pretty impressive. You’re excited to see Dice imitate her, even if he’s not quite as graceful yet.

First up is Hana.

“Truth.” She says with a little extra confidence. She helps slice some ingredients up. Man, she’s fast. She still hides how she does it with her body though. She hiccups.

You yawn. You'll try to be quick so you can get some sleep. Laki and the others look comfy.

[oops. Yes. Write-ins are always implied. There might be like 1-2 times in the entire quest where it's a yes or no situation, but those will be pretty explicitly clear.

Situations like this are always wide open. You could do a write-in for Herb to scream at the top of his lungs that he is a 300 foot tall Caterpie and throw his frying pan at Jane's head as hard as he can then diving overboard if you really want. “What is your weirdest habit.”

She splatters a tomato she was about to slice for you. “Heh. Oh. That’s a tough one.”

“I bet.” Jane mumbles. You don’t know why she looks so smug about it.

You toss up a bit of extra food to Gobble, but Dice intercepts it and keeps on waddling by. Gobble looks so crushed that you decide to expand the meal plan a little just to make him something extra.

Hana squirms. “I guess I have to say that it’s always looking out for magnets. There was a...situation that I caused by wandering into the MRI room one time. But I was just looking for a place to... a place to get a little privacy. I carry a few on me now. I don't know why.” She reaches into her sleeve and pulls a fridge magnet out.

“That’s your strangest habit?” Jane once again mumbles. It’s not a direct challenge, but everyone in the kitchen still hears it.

Keira snakes her way beside Jane and whispers a little too loudly. “I learned that everyone masturbates, so it’s not a strange habit.” She gives a thumbs up to Hana, but does it wrong.

Hana looks like she’s going to crawl into the oven.

“You do it too, right?” Keira asks while feeding Cutiefly a dab of honey.

Jane’s smug attitude vanishes. “It’s not my turn to answer any questions.

“It is your turn, though.” Hana says, with the first hint of antagonism you think you’ve ever heard in her voice. Booze really brings people out of their shell!

Jane awkwardly looks over to you before giving you her bravest face. “Dare. Don’t insult me with something weak.”

Hana whispers a suggestion into your ear. “Could you imagine?”

Jane sweats just a little, but keeps her face stone solid.

You stroke your chin and really think. Whats a good one? “I dare you to say something nice about everyone.”

“You’d go for a lot of smokes in a mainlander prison.” She replies instantly.

“No backhanded insults like you always do. Say one genuine nice thing about everyone.”

“I...why is that a dare?” She looks genuinely hurt. You almost want to take it back. It’s like she just had a sudden realization. But she has to know what she’s like sometimes, right?

Jane drinks a glass of water while facing away, then slowly sets it down.

“Hana. You’re incredibly strong. Nothing can break you.”

Hana smiles and brushes the hair from her eyes. “Thanks.”

“Keira. You’re never uncomfortable.”

You raise your spatula at her as a silent gesture that that won’t cut it.

“In a good way!.” She gives you an annoyed glare. “You’re not afraid to put yourself out there all the time. A lot of people might envy that.”

Keira smiles, then scratches her rear end.

She looks to the main room where Laki, Valerie, and Polu are. “Valerie may not understand Loanah values on treating guests,” she raises a hand to stop you before you start, “she doesn’t have to. Valerie is a considerate host. She freely offered us shelter without a second thought, and she asked me several times if I needed anything. It’s second nature to her.”

You glance to Valerie, but she’s trapped, being snuggled by Laki.

“Polu is a strong rival who pushes himself, and me with him. I didn’t expect him to be a contender at first, but,” she really struggles with this next part, “I was wrong.”

Hana is distracted. She offered Keira a banana and ended up feeding it to her. You don’t know why she’s so amazed at it. Keira just does weird stuff sometimes. But you saw how hard that was for Jane.

She locks eyes with you now. “I think you might actually be a friendly person who just wants to do good. But I don’t know what that says about me if that’s true.”

You don’t want to pull that string too much, especially since she’s been drinking. You smile. “Thanks. You’re forgetting someone though.”

“No I did-”

You put a hand on her heart. You half expect her to snap your arm off out of instinct, but you caught her off guard. “Yourself.”

She turns around. “I don’t know.”

Jane's not going to be saying much nice about Laki until we get further on in Jane's social link

To Jane, Laki is the reason her parents divorced, Jane's so stubborn, in part, because she doesn't want to be a quitter, which is how she sees Laki, someone who just gave up when they had a second chance

At least that's what i've gathered so far
>>
>>1298209
She was the president of her fan club. I'm sure she can find a "you inspired me" or something somewhere.
>>
>>1298228
Yeah, this too, the phrase:

>"Who doesn't remember the President of their own fan club?!"

>>
>>1298209
So she's failing the dare? Herb wouldn't let that slide
>>
“Well, I want you to come up with something and tell me. I know you can do it, because you’re the most driven person I know.”

She eyes you with still a small bit of suspicious.

You continue. “You’re always pushing yourself and doing your best. Not a lot of people can say that. I don’t think I’ve ever see you not give it your all. With anything.”

She looks away. That’s when you strike. Your insidious sneak attack while her guard is down.

You give her a hug.

She’s frozen. Her arms do eventually relax enough to stop hovering over you and rest on your back. Eventually you decide to break it, because she doesn’t. She doesn’t even comment on it, and it’s like it didn’t happen once it’s over. But you still feel like somewhere deep inside her, that made a difference.

Wait, she forgot somebody. “What about Laki?”

“I don’t consider her a person, so it doesn’t count.”

You’re shocked. The sheer coldness of the statement hits you like a Tauros stampede.

Jane cracks a smile. Not her wicked smile, but a fun one. Then she giggles. “It’s a joke.” She clears her throat to snuff out her own giggle when she sees it fell flat. Then she puts an arm over your shoulder and pulls you close. “Don’t tell her I said this, but Laki, despite what happened, still had a huge impact on my life. She gave me my pride as a Loanan and taught me to work hard for what I want to achieve. I can’t forgive her for how she’s treating herself, and how that insults everyone that supported and believed her.” She puts her finger on your lips. "That's not a backhanded insult. From my point of view, she had such a big impact that what happened after doesn't wash it out. And if you ever repeat that," she flicks your groin, "my threat still stands."

Hana and Keira and snuggling into the pile. Jane gives you a one handed wave and yawns, and heads in the direction. She places herself near, but not with the group, before closing her eyes.

You yawn and stretch and get ready to go to sleep to. But before you leave the kitchen, you hear a fork rattle. Out of the corner of your eye, you see it. A ghost!

It slowly slides a knife from its board. Dice is blankly staring at it, and Gobble is facing towards you.

>Stay perfectly still.
>Scream!
>Break the bone hairclip! Don’t take a chance!
>Dice! Attack!
>Grab Dice and Gobble and run!

Just a thought, we should have Herb look up Laki's attempt in the games on whatever the pokemon world uses instead of youtube. Maybe even look up her other competitions that she was in. We only know the Laki after she's basically given up. It would be really cool to see the stars-in-her-eyes-world-is-her-oyster Laki.

Saturday, as said in the last story post.

I'm glad for Jane progress too. Once she's realized what we really are, I'll be able to start collecting data to asses her waifu quality. As it stands, all the threats directed to our dongle really turn me off. I'm hoping for aura mixing and finding out what our tm is next time.
>>
So I was doing my end-of-thread gobble-only re-read, like usual, when I noticed that we never did get to truth-or-dare Keira.

And I still want to ask her what she's going to do with Shedinja. Should we let it go, or are there other options you guys think would be better?

You know, once we're done with this knife fight.
>>
>>1298506
>knife fight
Nonsense. The ghost is just appreciating the quality of the kitchen knives on the boat and looking for a meal.
>>
>>1298506
I wasn't going to point it out until we got away with it, but we did dare Keira to have an eating contest with Gobble. Seems like Gobble caught on though.

Line 135 needs closing quotations.

Definitely renewed my interest in what Valerie's thinking about her romantic life. She seems to be coming around to the idea of sexfriends, but I can see her deciding to try wooing Laki too.

I feel a little guilty at how pleased I am that Laki's being messed with like this. Maybe it's because it's only possible because of her posturing as more experienced than she is. What I really want to see from her is opening up about what's exciting, scary, and new to her too. Maybe that's just my fetishes talking though.

He nurses her back to health & cooks her meals every day in the special apron she bought him as a thank you

Herb gets a gang reputation as a monster from the mainland

Is it bad that I would like Herb to have sexual encounters with everyone in the group at least once? (excluding Jane and Polu but if Jane continues to sail the friend-ship and Polu gets some sort of 'confused feelings' bin, that may change)
>>
>>1304275
I understand the desire but it'll be hard to get the majority on board, just as there are favorites there are girls that some may not want to lewd.
>>
>>1304275
I understand the desire. It's a significant bonding experience, and forming human connections is not only rewarding, it's also kind of the point of the quest.

I don't expect it to happen for everyone though, even if I would love a sexualexperimentation-bin with Polu.

Moreover though, I've recently planted my support firmly behind Keira/Herb, and I think seeing them feel out how to respect each other's boundaries would be pretty great.

I also want to start gossiping with Hana about how stupidly hot our friend group has turned out to be. And then we can encourage her to not let her kinks stay thinks.

Part 1 of 2. Toooo many characters.

So, I’ve been thinking about paint and fashion.

I’m not sure how widespread the idea of body paint is on the mainland, but on Loanah it has cultural significance since the priests use it. I’d be willing to bet that with so many different elements represented on the island by priests, the designs for each elemental caste are likely divergent enough that you could tell, as a native, which element a priest belongs to just by the patterns they wear on their face.

Since fashion is constantly changing and hungry for new ideas, this means that we have a golden opportunity to export their designs to the mainland, and do so in a way that lets the mainland become both informed of Loanah culture and help preserve it in future generations.

Start with the ghost caste, since we have Keira traveling with us. Ask her details about how the facial paint makes ghosts see her as one of them. What plants does she use for the paint? How is it prepared? Is there a specific way she needs to apply it (order/pattern)? If variations are allowed, have her apply her makeup multiple times and sketch the designs and colors, or have her do it herself if she’s comfortable with doing it on paper instead of herself.

Then, create similar patterns based on what we’ve gotten from Keira. The goal would be to invoke the element she represents when people look at it. It’d range the spectrum from the finality and lifelessness of death, to the confusion or malice of the unquiet dead, to the seizing of life in defiance of our limited time on this world.

Do the same for other elemental castes. Since we may not find someone as eager as Keira to help us, I’d suggest sketching the facial patterns as we visit the gyms around the islands. Design new patterns around them that evoke the feelings of what we experienced from the people of the gyms.

The next step would be to apply them to bodywear. I have no idea if full body paint is a thing on Loanah, but if it is that would be easiest to transfer. If it’s normally facial paint, we can expand it. We’d need to experiment with different clothing designs, but between mainland and Loanah clothing styles I’m sure we could find something that fit the theme of each element.

The next next step requires us to go to the temples and pitch the ideas to the priests in charge, with a caveat for them. What we’ve designed is based on their culture and practice, but purposefully ISN’T. And we’d market it as such, because the most appropriate people to create a meaningful design, with relevance to those on the island and the castes themselves, are the priests. And we’d ask them to do that on their own terms.
>>
>>1304514
Part 2 of 2:Fashion Redux

Anyone that wanted to get clothing or accessories in official Loanah style would need to head to the islands and seek out the temples themselves. How they would actually get some is determined by the temple. Some could sell it in stalls for visitors that are willing to give money to the temple, others could make some available to those who complete a task for the temple or sit down long enough to learn something of their history. I’m personally a fan of the latter, since the temples could design masks or clothing that highlights someone’s status as an outsider student of a temple, and natives would know this is someone that spent time learning something of their culture.

We’d be the ones to provide all of this, of course, but the temple priests would request these direct from us. If they wanted 500 of the same shirt, fine. If they wanted a custom-tailored one for every visitor that passed their tests, that’s fine too. They can be as open or exclusive as they want.

To avoid counterfeiting, we’d likely need a signature-like design for each temple and, preferably, each priest that requests a design. A specific pattern on each requested design from the temples that would let us tell what order number it was would also give each piece something unique that we could use to verify the authenticity of anything out on the market in case disputes came up.

At that point, we open an entire line of clothing and accessories based on what we’ve learned. Be open about the fact that these are based on the culture of Loanah, and that we have a standing arrangement with temples on the island to provide authentic fashionwear at their request.

If it isn’t fairly obvious by now, Val would be our direct partner in all this, and probably be the one officially in charge of the product line. It’s something that she could take a lot of pride in, since if this gets off the ground it’ll only be because of the number of partnerships we were able to forge between the temples, and that’ll take a lot of outgoing work with people that have a different set of cultural values than she does.

She’ll have won the challenge to be more outgoing for a while, is what I’m saying.

As long as we remain the exclusive provider of fashionwear from the temples on Loanah, we can allow the temples to teach some mainlanders about their ways and customs through the setup outlined above, with the hope that those traditions won’t be erased or changed as the mainland and island slowly intermingle their cultural practices.

The small, floating, dark creature slides the knife from the block of wood. You freeze. If you stand perfectly still, and don’t show any hostile intent, maybe you’ll be fine.

It slowly turns around. Bright red and yellow eyes glare at you. The only thing that distracts you from that is the glint of the blade. Without limbs, it lifts it up and waves it around.

And you stay perfectly still.

Dice keeps staring at it, and blinks.

The ghost looks unpleased with this. It flies at you with the knife. But it stops a foot away. The knife dangles in it’s gripe, like it’s not quite strong enough to bring it up. It makes a quiet but sharp noise to try to spook you.

And yes, you are very spooked, but you stay still, keeping your reaction to yourself.

Dice gets bored and gently gnaws on your ankle. The ghost, seeing no reaction from you, gets an idea and slowly moves to dangle the knife above Dice instead, keeping it’s eyes on you to see your reaction. It’s not exactly over his head, but the ghost keeps slowly inching it closer.

“Hi. I’m Herb.” You finally break your statue imitation. “Are you hungry?”

It looks annoyed, It is hungry, but you’re missing something. It shakes the knife. Gobble finally turns around and realizes what’s going on. He’s started and jumps for a second before looking to you for leadership.

“Please don’t hurt Dice.” You whisper to the ghost. “If you give me the knife, I can make something good for you.”

It gives you a very questioning look. But it decides to drop the knife on the ground, away from you and Dice.

Dice jumps at the sudden noise too, but only just a little. He curiously sniffs the knife, then tests the handle with a bite.

The ghost makes a bunch of commanding voices. “Okay. okay. I’ll make good on my promise. I just need to know a little more about you.” You’re feeling the pressure. You sneak a glance towards the others and see no movement from them sleeping, but it’s difficult to get a good look.

The ghost pokemon makes on last commanding noise, then floats around to bother Gobble. He keeps his eyes on the ghost and tries not to panic.

You take out your pokedex and scan it, keeping the pokedex on silent to avoid it saying anything awkward. “Misdreavus frightens people with a creepy, sobbing cry. The Pokémon apparently uses its red spheres to absorb the fearful feelings of foes and turn them into nutrition.”

So it eats fear? You always knew there’s be a situation you couldn’t cook your way out of. You just never knew when it would be.

You guess your base level fear right now is like getting a nice appetizer.

You decide to cook up some poffins anyway. All pokemon like those, right?

You get the ingredients ready, prepare the stove, and get to work. You wish you had a nice apron. Mixing poffins can get messy if you’re not careful.

Gobble, to Misdreavus’s annoyance, stops caring as much about it’s presence and climbs a few things to get a view of the process. He’s still concerned, but the smell of things being made is too big of a distraction. Dice doesn’t seem concerned at all, and just sort of waddles around. Last you saw Bella, she was hiding from Cutiefly under Tropius. So she’s probably either there, or with Laki.

The ghost pokemon looks uncomfortable being out in the open like this, but sticks around and watches you bake. You have a special plan for these poffins. Not just flavor, but shape and decoration. Everyone forgets that presentation is a huge part of making a great meal. The littlest things can make a big difference. You remember how much stuff like shaping pasta like a certain character makes it more desirable, or how a lot of people just can’t stand the idea of purple or green ketchup even if it tastes exactly the same.

“All done.” You whisper. Oh wow, those look horrifying, like a super demonic Mr.Mime. The movie’s worst scare comes back into your head. It’s a lot like that scene. It chills you to the bone.

You don’t want to look, but you know you should. The way the grotesque poffins sort of bleed over into each other is just too much. You raise one to Misdreavus mouth.

It chomps it down. It doesn’t look unimpressed, despite you knowing these aren’t exactly your best work. But it does start to look satisfied anyway. Must be from your reaction to them. They look just like-

“Mr. Schwibbles!” You shout as loud as your whisper lets you. He suddenly turns, in a very terrifying manner, and looks at the scene in the kitchen. He hisses at the Misdreavus, who quickly vanishes into the island countertop. You, on the other hand, nearly have an accident from seeing that hiss.

The Mr. Mime uses Light Screen to block the kitchen doorway. Misdreavus pops out and uses a move you’re not familiar with. Your pokedex display is still on and it flashes the word “Spite.”

Gobble falls off the counter from the surprise, and Dice casually catches him, but gets conked on the head with the spatula you were using that fell off the counter. He looks unhurt, but confused.

You’re trying to think of what to do and flinch with every sound and attack!

Mr. Schwibbles moves between it and Valerie and uses what your Pokedex calls Wide Guard, but there’s no attack to block.

Misdreavus pops up, looks at you, and makes a noise. You can’t read pokemon like Keira, but it’s sounds like it’s version “yum” to you. It dips back down into the floor, and you and Mr. Schwibbles and Gobble and Dice all wait to see if it’s going to come back again, but it doesn’t.

(continued)
>>
>>1306029
The entire boat has erupted into chaos now. People and pokemon wake up and everyone is confused about the commotion.

It takes awhile for you to explain that you saw a ghost pokemon, and for Keira to insist that everything is fine and nobody is in any danger, and for the mood to settle down. It seems like everyone is tired though, so everyone just sort of plops down back into the pile. You’re sure they’ll all be tired and cranky tomorrow.

Keira is the last one because she set up a bunch of tags around the room for Valerie. She just falls forward with her butt sticking in the air. Valerie cuddles closely under the blankets next to Laki in the middle. Hana is on the other side of Valerie, but she seems like she barely woke up for it. She must be a deep sleeper.

Polu is on the outside, with his back to Laki. He looks like he has a lot of blanket.

Jane is off to the side. She has a very thin blanket and looks chilly.

Everyone has all the blankets. You know it’s silly, but you’ve always felt that blankets can act as some sort of protection when you’re scared at night. You’re tired, a bit insulted that Misdreavus didn’t seem to be impressed with your cooking, a bit happy that you still satisfied it’s appetite anyway, and a bit worried that you’ve lost track of where Mr. Schwibbles got to.

You take off your layered hoodie and lay it gently down on Jane. She grabs your wrist, but when she sees what you did, she lets go. “I don’t need your pity.” Oh. Okay. You didn’t mean to offend her. You reach to take it back, but she adjusts so you can’t take it. “Don’t take back an offer. Loanan custom.” Well, whatever. You’ll get it in the morning. You don’t have to worry about warmth as much.

You glance over to see that Gobble still looks a bit shaken up. Somewhere in the commotion though, he ate the remaining poffins. You just roll your eyes, smile, and tap the spot you intend to lie down. He comes over. Good old Gobble, seeing him with those crumbs around his mouth restores some of your confidence in your cooking.

Dice follows, and it turns out Mace is already nearby. Mace comes and waits for you to lay down so he can be at your feet though. He does that sometimes.

Bella crawls over Laki to come to you. She looks annoyed as she walks over Valerie’s face. If you didn’t know better you’d say she did that on purpose. Valerie is still half asleep and just puts her face under the blanket and into Laki’s chest.

You settle down next to Keira. You feel a little awkward about this, but you cuddle in closer. You want to make a gesture. She watches you and lights up when you touch her, despite how obvious tired she is.

“It’s okay?”

You nod. She wraps her arms and legs around you like a body pillow. Not exactly what you had in mind, but she’s so enthusiastic that you can’t say no. Also you can’t breath to say it anyway.

She relaxes her grip after a few minutes, and you talk quietly. About a lot of nothing, really. She’s interested to hear all about the ghost, and nods knowingly as you describe how things went down.

“It’s nice to be the one that understands everything.” She says. “Sometimes I feel like I’m just dumb. Everyone knows all these things about the outside world. It’s obvious to them. But I’m always confused.”

Gobble pushes your pillow out of the way to substitute his belly for it. Dice rests his jaw on leg next to Dice.

Point out all the times that we've felt like an idiot here and needed her to explain things to us. The no-touching rule, the issue with the snow, what a maema(?) is and how to become one, what her paint is for, what it means to takke it off.

We're hardly knowledgeable, but we have a good friend helping us along. And that's important too.

“I feel the same way about Loanan culture. I always feel like I need everything explained to me, like not touching the snow on Eelilee, or what a maema is, what your paint is for, all of that.”

She looks a little bit more assured. “I thought it would be easier. I’m so used to being in tune with what people are feeling since the dying can’t always talk, and ghosts almost never do, that I don’t get what they’re thinking. The logic of someone’s drain of thought that gets them from one feeling to the next doesn’t make sense to me.”

“Train.” You correct her use of the phrase.

“You’re right. I just need to train and practice. I’ll get it.” She makes a determined gesture with her fist. You decide to just let that go.

“You’re right. You’ll get it in time. And besides, I think it’s cute.”

“Cute?” She shakes her head, despite her smile. She always smiles though. “I’m not supposed to be cute. A priestess of the Ghost temple must be the picture of dignity and wisdom. A guide between the living and the dead.” From her tone, it’s obvious she’s imitating someone. “Don’t tell High Priest Makai I said that.” She giggles.

“No problem.” You weren’t really planning on it. “Hey, how about tomorrow, I I help you out. I can teach you something about the mainland.”

“Really? Okay!” She gives you another full body hug. She’s like a starving person eating after a fast.

You fall asleep with Keira wrapped around you, and your pokemon acting as a second blanket. And for what’s left of the night, you sleep hard.

Jeez, she smells really nice.

You wake up the next morning with almost everyone else already up. Keira is still wrapped around you, but your pokemon and others are walking around or lounging. The crew seems to have taken it upon themselves to make breakfast.

Your head hurts and you’re thirsty and everything is too loud and bright. Without the warm embrace of liquid courage, you’re much more keenly aware of the half-naked girl under the blanket with you.

Jane looks like she’s getting ready to leave.

You slide your way from Keira’s sleep grasp. It’s pretty difficult, but you manage it without waking her up.

“Look who’s up.” Polu teases. He leans in a little closer. “Bro, you’re getting pretty familiar with the girls, huh? I’m a little jealous.”

“Don’t be.” Laki passes by with a big glass of water. “Herb owes me a lot of work.”

You hope she’s referring to massages. You’re still sore from the training.

You grab a cup of coffee and Bella, and explain what you want her to do. She looks at you like you’re crazy, but she does it. You stir the worry seed in the coffee to really let it dissolve, then fish it out with a spoon. The group is paying a lot of attention to you now. You pick it up, smell it, then take a sip.

Gross! But you drink up anyway. And in no time at all, you’re loaded with energy. Maybe a little anxious, and jittery, but you are very fully awake.

You put down the cup and go to catch up to Jane before she leaves. “Hey, you’re not sticking around?”

She shrugs. “The cup with Laki only lasts the night. I’m leaving before we have some bad words.”

“Oh. Well, it was nice seeing you.”

“Hmmph.” She puts her hand on you shoulder. Awww. Ow! She has your ear. “Don’t think last night changes anything. I just got a little carried away, that’s all. I’m going to the gym. Don’t disappoint me and fall behind.” She shoves you away.

Huh, that was a pretty gentle shove for her.

She turns around and comes back. “Be careful if you go too deep into the city here. Not that I care what happens to you.” She fixes something in your hair, then leaves for real this time.

You glance back to the others. Polu has bravely decided to try your coffee while everyone watches. After he seems fine, the others give it a shot. Everyone agrees that it tastes awful except for Hana, but it works.

You’ll need to think up something for the taste.

You watch Keira stretch as she wakes up. Cutiefly zooms around her and Nincada crawls on top of her head.

Now what are you going to do this morning to keep your promise to her?

seems like she has an affinity for bug pokemon. She only has two so far, but I'm interested in seeing if the rest of her team will be part bug.

And now I want to do the aura mingling thing, I want to start seeing people's auras. Wonder if Keira's aura is bug type.

Considering they change over time, priesthood can't be decided by aura. The selection process would be interesting to learn about as well.

You decide you’ll teach her a bunch of expressions. You ask Valerie to help, and she’s more than happy to as a way of getting out of Laki’s invitation to join her in the shower. Bella follows her to the shower instead.

She’s very alarmed at the concept of something costing an arm and a leg until you explain that it’s not literal. A drop of a hat doesn’t make sense, because who drops their hat intentionally? A Blessing in disguise is an expression she immediately understands, as well as biting off more than one can chew. Someone being under the weather is a bit difficult for her to get, but she understands hitting the nail on the head. She’s seen lots of construction.

She thinks that stealing someone's’ thunder is literal, and that there must be some sort of thunder harnessing machine. “And that’s what makes planes so loud when they fly over, right? I remember seeing one come in before.”

Valerie gives you a look to say that Keira is adorable.

“The outside world is full of cool stuff.” Polu tells her. “I mean, we never really figured out how to make surfboards like this before. Maybe there’s a lot we can learn. And teach them too, of course.”

That came out sounding little rehearsed.

“I guess.” Keira says. “There’s a lot to remember. I think I need a break for now.”

You let her absorb all the stuff you dumped on her. You can work on more later.

Wow. Man. That coffee really puts a spring in your step.

Polu slaps you on the back. “Bro, you want to take on the gym with me? A couple of bros, tag teaming her together?” He grabs his stuff.

Hana almost spills her coffee.

Can we hang with Polu and Hana for a while? There's some potential there.

>Sure!
>Ask Hana to come too.

“Sure, but can I get a little time to get my team ready first?”

“Yeah bro. Let’s go there tonight. The gym leader likes night battles more anyway.” He pats your arm. “Don’t stress out about it though. I’ve seen you battle. We’ll be fine.” He hops over the side of the ship and onto the dock. “I’ll be training here if you need me.”

You might have done okay before, but you have to admit, you haven’t been training as hard as him or Jane. You hope you don’t let him down.

“Where’d Keira go?”

Right on cue, Keira comes marching out of the hall. Literally marching, with big exaggerated goosesteps. And she’s wearing the uniform of a particularly infamous historical mainlander team.

“This is how you wear it, right? I wanted to try some Mainlander fashion before we left.”

“Dude.” Polu says. “That’s slick!”

“Why do you own that?” Hana asks Valerie cautiously. Hana definitely recognizes it. She’s probably seen enough movies about that era of history.

“I bought it in town for Papa. They really do have everything.” Valerie quickly throws up her hands defensively because of the looks everyone gives her. “He’s a history buff! It’s purely for the historical value. He has them for a lot of different teams!”

Laki comes out with a towel on her head. Instead of being shocked, she just watches Keira goosestep around. “I was gone for like ten minutes.”

Keira stops her march. “What? Am I doing it wrong? Oh yeah, you’re supposed to raise your arm like this, right?”

“No no no no no no.” Valerie and Hana quickly stop her. Keira ends up apologizing to Valerie profusely, but Valerie admits she did invite Keira to put on anything of Valerie’s that she wants. Hana walks her back to the bedroom to find something more appropriate.

Teaching Keira about the mainland might be hard than you thought.

You take another sip of coffee. You feel like you’re going to need it for today.

[That's it for tonight. Sorry about the slow pace. We'll be picking things up one of the days during the week, but I'm not sure which. Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. I'll update here once I know more. Thanks for coming everyone.]

I think everyone can do work, but without Aqua Tail, Dice is weaker. Also bug is neutral to Bella. I say we keep everyone ready because there is no telling which Pokemon they use. Gobble might be a good lead though since he is our bulkiest Pokemon.

Well at least you didn't fall for hiromoot's schemes.
>>

Roselia are damaged neutrally by poison and bug, and she's immune to the poisoned and badly poisoned conditions. Moreover, I would like to see her using the black sludge+leech seed+ Mega drain combo. If that goes well, maybe we can inspire her to learn giga drain/ingrain/synthesis.

Only thing I'm worried about is Salazzle/Salandit, but Mace had ought to be able to deal with that.

I'm also looking forwards to learning what murkbro's new Tm is.
>>
Damn slept through the thread.

Did Jane keep our jacket?
I'd like to think she did and will be wearing it the next time we see her.
>>
>>1307223
it would be cute for her to be wearing it because she thinks it super stylish, but embarrassed because she knows that it looks like for her to be wearing it
>>
I like how Val is (without meaning to?) Blueballing Laki. She's pretty dangerous in her own way.
>>
>>1307223
Yes

Also, can't stop thinking about 1 of the girls role-playing a poke nazi

We should train for the gym with hana today and cheer her on later, she can get an idea what the gym leader likes after watching us double team her
>>
>>1307718
Speaking of which... Keira mentioned that they were a team. At first I thought that meant a sports team before I realised exactly what she was wearing. But team has another meaning in Pokémon.

Were the Poké-Nazis a villainous team in this world, rather than a political party? Makes one wonder why anyone else would call themselves "team whatever" after that. At least it makes sense in Japanese; the word they use is "-dan", which means something closer to "gang".
>>
>>1307768
They could be a sports team as well, the byzantines had their political parties based on chariot racing teams
>>
>>1307838
Speaking of sports, I wonder if one of the gyms will have the water sumo wrestling thing Gobble was working up at the end of last quest and the start of this one.
>>
>>1307841
That sounds more like a Trial than a Gym.
>>
>>1307871
Well the idea was it was a sport. Also gyms can totally do creative stuff.
>>
>>1308067
Speaking of creative stuff. Herb lying on a bed with Keira, Laki, Hana, Valerie, and Jane sitting at the foot, with 6 different colors of lipstick on standby (Polu optional). Preparing to find out who can sudue the barbarian the furthest.

Didn't Keira deep threat a banana on a dare?
>>
>>1309941
Deepest kiera (right down to the Base) -> jane ( tries to get below kiera but gags too hard) -> hana -> polu -> laki -> val

>Herb, with hands tied together at the head of the bed
>Event begins
>Valerie has some trouble fitting it in and doesn't get very far but is to be commended for her effort. (judging by Herb's reactions)
>Hana, even though she has a head start, does well but only mildly better than in the closet (almost disqualified for trying to sabotage the equipment prematurely)So tasty.
>Jane, somewhat reluctant at first but ultimately driven to win (After Laki smugly tells her it's okay to be scared) goes more than an inch further than Hana's best (has to be gently removed for fear of her passing out)
>Laki, "Now it's time to show you all how a /real/ woman takes a man"(Come on Laki you can do it, just like that banana- OHGODWHYISITSOBIG) She pushes herself to the same depth Jane went but, then tragedy strikes as the combined stimulation becomes too much for poor Herb, he rips his bindings to shreds, grabs a hold of her head and he releases his rampaging horde deep into Laki's throat.(Laki has fainted! Herb gains 55 stud points!)
>While the girls are making sure Laki is alright(and Jane isn't gloating too much) Keira sneaks over to Herb (and his still barbaric beast) and asks if she can still try. Herb says yes (because who in their right mind would say no?) She then gently buries the entire length into her mouth and leaves a lipstick smear on Herb's family jewels.
>Polu, would not respond to questioning about the event, stating: "I ain't no snitch, bro." but there is a slight awkwardness between him and Herb for a day or two afterwards.

Oh yeah. I always forget about my lipstick fetish
>>
>>1310116
Currently at work but as an addition to my post here, maybe Keira doesn't use lipstick but leaves a smear of face paint instead, which she quickly fixes, leaving everyone wondering how it got there.

Make this a thing 1 day down the line

We can't overload Gobble on lewdbins. I think anon did a fine enough job with it. Last thing we want is to have Gobble with 10 qued up lewdbins or some will just end up as broken dreams. Like some from last quest
>>
>>1314002
I might even give writing it a shot, it's the best bin idea I have had in a long time. No promises though.
>>
>>1314094
If you can write a partial I could help finish it. I'm shit at starting/finishing my own writing projects, but I can handle co-writing pretty well.
>>
So just as a general question, next session is on Friday? Or is it the weekend.
>>1314002
This would only be more practice for when Gobble finally goes overlewd and makes a smut quest

According to Gobble the next session will be Thursday the 30th.

I think Gobble has plenty of experience already if you know what I mean
