>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-two year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

I hope this mysterious warriors identity is revealed

It's quite the mystery, isn't it?

Yeah he came out of nowhere. Besides he wasn't in the martial artist tournament so it's quite strange.

What's stranger is he is wearing our Bear school colors with the same capsule corp logo

Rising from the ground, you begin moving toward Piccolo, only to realize that to get to him, you'll have to get right in the middle of the two fighters.

The man glances toward you. "Just wait a minute."

Freeza glances your way, then laughs. "You truly intend to face me alone?! My, such arrogance what have put Vegeta to shame! How's this food for thought? The warrior who overestimates his own abilities has already sealed his fate."

The man smirks. "You mean like you?"

Freeza growls, his body tensing up as he prepares to battle this unknown warrior.

The man seems further amused by this, smirk staying on his face as he drops into an offensive fighting stance, preparing to launch himself at Freeza.

"You wish to die so badly?" Freeza questions. "Very well!"

"I told you, I'm not the one dying today," the man replies, relaxing his stance.

Now, it's Freeza's time to smirk. "I beg to differ."

He raises his right hand, firing a beam of energy from his finger, only for the mysterious man to nimbly avoid it, the light passing through the blur left behind as he moves. Freeza frowns, pointing into the air and firing another that barely misses the man, who spins to avoid a shot to the chest, and fires a blast skyward to push himself back to the ground faster in order to avoid another attack.

As the man lands, Freeza fires another beam, only for the man to cartwheel to the side, firing back another black that Freeza swats aside with ease.

Whoever this guy is, he's given you a chance. And so, you take it, racing over to Piccolo and helping him to stand as the unknown warrior continues his battle with Freeza.

Fortunately, Piccolo seems to be alright. Though he's breathing rather heavily, the hole in his chest has been repaired, and the Namekian is able to walk without your help. In fact, he shoves you off when you try to assist him in walking.

Chi-Chi looks banged up pretty bad, as does Yamcha. Tenshinhan looks somewhat hurt, but you can tell that he'll be just fine. Everyone seems more concerned about the stranger fighting Freeza than they do about their own injuries, in any case.

"Hold still, dammit!" Freeza orders as the man manages to evade another beam of light.

Surprisingly, the man obliges, staying where he is and dropping into a defensive stance.

"One warning," he tells Freeza. "Hit me with everything you have. Otherwise, you don't stand a chance."

"No one tells Freeza how to fight!" the tyrant declares, holding his hand upward and creating a ball of light. "NO ONE!"

He thrusts his hand toward the man, firing a wave of energy that closes the distance in the blink of an eye, causing the ground beneath your feet to shake as a large cloud of smoke is kicked up.

"Hmm....well, that takes care of that," Freeza's father remarks.

"Yes, it seems he was just as I suspected him to be," Freeza agrees. "An insect with an ego problem."

"Come on, you two really can't be that stupid," a voice says from the air.

Looking up, you see the man floating in the sky, entirely unharmed.

Freeza scowls.

"What part of "everything you've got" did you not understand?" the man asks, sounding annoyed. "You blew your chance."

Freeza laughs, taking a step forward. "Really? Have I? How terrifying. Do you hear that, father? I can't possibly defeat him now!"

The man smirks. "Kuma-Ken."

A massive gust of wind forces you to shield your eyes as a bright green aura surrounds the young man's body. His already impressive energy level shoots through the roof, quickly rising to a level that you thought impossible for anyone other than Goku or Freeza.

Freeza chuckles. "Really? That trick? It didn't do anything to help your loudmouthed Earthling friend, what can it possibly do for you?"

"You're about to find out," the man tells him, slowly descending.

Freeza growls. "I've had enough of your mouth! Nobody talks down to Freeza!"

"Tofoo, what the heck's going on?" Krillin asks as he comes to stand beside you. "I thought you invented that technique, how does this guy know it?"

"I have no idea," you answer, watching the completely dumbfounded as the man lands, not even bothering to take a fighting stance as a furious Freeza slams his tail against the ground.

The man begins to step forward, still not appearing to put any sort of guard up as he moves toward Freeza. This seems only to further infuriate the alien, who finally has enough and breaks into a charge, rushing forward and leaping at the man, pulling back his right arm for a punch.

With speed that you can barely track, the man palm-strikes Freeza in the face, causing the tyrant to flip back and land a short distance away.

You can see the veins in what's left of the alien's head, and he makes a sound of unyielding rage through gritted teeth. This makes the man smile.

Freeza raises his hands above his head, a purple ball of energy appearing just above them. In a flash, the ball grows larger, becoming several times bigger than any of you fighters, and then in another flash, it grows to nearly the size of the spaceship.

"You want everything?!" Freeza roars. "Fine! Take this!"

With a rage-filled cry, he hurls the ball of energy toward the other warrior.

"Everybody, move!" Krillin shouts, grabbing an injured Kori and getting out of the way.

As the others flee, you stay right where you are, your focus only on the battle raging in front of you, and nothing else.

The strange warrior stands his ground as Freeza's attack comes flying toward him. He thrusts his arms forward toward the oncoming attack, which slams into his palms and pushes him back a few feet. It's not long, however, before he's able to stop himself from moving any further, and with a yell, sends it flying right back toward Freeza.

"WHAT?!" you hear Freeza shout in pure disbelief.

His father takes to the air to avoid the incoming attack, while Freeza yells in defiance, thrusting his hands toward his reversed attack. Like with the other warrior, the blast slams into his palms, but Freeza isn't able to push it back so easily, and so finds himself forced back until he slides under the ship, and the blast begins to engulf the interstellar vehicle, detonating in an Earth-shaking explosion that nearly throws you to the ground.

Still, you keep standing, and watch as the smoke is blown back with a furious cry from Freeza, who looks to be badly scorched and in significant pain.

"Too little, too late, Freeza," the man tells him. "Now it's my turn."

The man rushes forward, reaching Freeza in the blink of an eye and punching the alien right in the gut. You watch Freeza hunch over, blood flying from his mouth, and, surprisingly enough, his back.

As the man pulls his arm back, you see that his fist is covered in blood, and that he's made a hole in Freeza's chest, not unlike what the alien tyrant did to Piccolo.

Freeza's eyes go wide with horror as he stares down at the wound, hands coming down to cover it as he drops to his knees.

"Goodbye, Freeza," the man tells him, turning away and looking toward the tyrant's father.

Things are looking good, until Freeza begins to laugh.

The man turns toward him, confused.

"You imbecile," Freeza declares, rising back to his feet and lifting off into the air. "Did you honestly believe you'd won so easily?"

The man chuckles. "Honestly? Yeah."

Freeza gives a weak but chilling laugh. "It will take much more than that to kill me. But as for killing you, that's a simple matter. I'll just blow up your world and let you die in the vacuum of space!"

Freeza raises his hands above his head once more, and the man rushes into the air, reaching Freeza just as the alien creates another ball of energy.

Then, something else unexpected happens.

The man holds out his right arm, which becomes surrounded by a green light extends outward like a blade. Freeza's eyes go wide in horror before the man slices through his body at the shoulder level, letting the lower portion fall to the ground as he unleashes a wave of light that vaporizes the head and neck.

The rest of Freeza's body clatters to the ground as his father looks down in furious disbelief.

The man looks down, firing another blast that does away with what's left of the corpse, then looks toward Freeza's dad.

"Now it's your turn," the man warns. "Sorry, but I'm not going to let you run off and blast this planet from space."

The massive alien glares daggers at him. "Don't get carried away, boy. You may have defeated Freeza, but against King Cold you stand no chance."

"Right," the man says, clearly unconvinced.

"A prideful one, aren't you?" King Cold questions. "You're right to be proud of your power, but you're letting it blind you as my son did. It would be a shame for such a skilled young warrior to throw his life away like this."

"It would be, if you were actually as strong as you're pretending to be," the man tells him. "I can sense your energy, and you shouldn't give me much more trouble than Freeza did."

King Cold's eye twitches. "Do you really believe that? Impudent whelp, my clan is feared throughout the universe. Hundreds, no, thousands of worlds have crumbled before our might. You truly believe that a green aura and a sword made of energy can stop me?"

The man gives his energy blade a few swings. "Let's find out."

King Cold thrusts his right hand toward the man. "DIE!"

A massive wave of energy shoots toward the fighter, who thrusts his left hand up toward it, firing a ball of light that rushes toward the energy wave, slamming into it and pushing it back up toward Freeza's father.

There's a great blast, and a cloud of smoke obscures your vision. That's not a problem for long, however, as King Cold drops down from the smoke, landing on the ground and quickly looking around for his foe.

Not immediately seeing him, the massive alien lets out a loud cry, and unleashes energy in all directions, shaking the ground and creating a massive crater beneath him.

This actually works, as the man is sent flying back, sliding across the ground on his back.

King Cold smirks, turning toward him and holding out his hand, firing another blast of energy that the man doesn't stop, creating another cloud of dust. He looks up to see the fighter hovering in the air, smirking back down at him.

The man holds his hand out, firing a wave of energy down at King Cold, who leaps into the air to avoid it. At that moment, the man rushes in swinging his blade toward the alien's midsection. King Cold barely manages to spin out of the way, throwing a punch that the man catches.

Gripping the alien's fist, the man pulls Cold in and cuts through his neck, decapitating him and letting both head and body fall to the ground before destroying the remains.

With that, the man lets out a breath, blade and aura vanishing as he slowly descends toward the ground.

The man looks to her, an expression of great concern on his face that vies you pause. Of course, it's reasonable to be worried for a child in Kori's condition, but the way he's looking at her is as if she were a close friend.

"Yes, he'll be here soon," he promises.

"How could you possibly know that?" Piccolo demands as he approaches.

"Like I said, I'll explain everything later," the man tells him. "Are you coming?"

Nodding, you fly up to the cliffs, finding Bulma holding Trunks as she attempts to get a better look at what's going on down there.

"Water, please," you request, catching a bottle as it's thrown to you. "And one for Bulma."

The man nods, tossing another at you, which you hand to your wife.

"Thanks," Bulma says, taking a seat on a rock and opening her bottle.

The man passes out drinks to everybody. Krillin and Chi-Chi seem confused by this whole situation, but are polite toward the man, at least. Kori is completely pleasant, but Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Lapis, and Piccolo are all clearly highly suspicious.

You can't really tell with Chaozu.

"Nice gi," you tell the man. "Did Capsule Corp start selling them as a clothing line?"

"Not exactly, mine was specially made," the man tells you.

The three hours pass mostly in that way, with a lot of attempts made to get information from the guy that go absolutely nowhere. He keeps promising to explain everything later, and that's that.

Just as the man said, in three hours time, an object comes falling from the sky, an object you recognize as a Saiyan spaceship. Your group rushes toward it as the hatch opens, and out steps Goku, dressed in the most ridiculous outfit you have ever seen.

"Goku!" most of the others shout in unison.

"Daddy!" Kori shouts, running to her father and tackling him with a hug, actually managing to knock him to the ground.

Goku laughs, giving his daughter a hug.

"I missed you so much," the little girl tells her father.

"I missed you too," he tells her affectionately.

"What in the world are you wearing?" Piccolo asks.

"This?" Goku asks, looking at his outfit. "Oh, long story."

"Any chance you can tell it a little later?" the mystery man asks, coming to stand at the edge of the group.

Goku's eyes narrow as he studies the man.

"Oh, Goku, this guy stopped Freeza," Bulma explains to your friend. "He's also the one who told us where you'd be landing."

Goku's eyes widen, and he gives a confused blink. "But how?"

"What do you mean, how?" Krillin asks. "Didn't you tell him?"

"I've never met the guy before in my life," Goku assures him.

"Look, I'll explain everything," the man promises yet again. "Goku, I need to talk to you in private."

He turns to you. "And I want you to come with us."

"Alright," you tell the man. "Guys, I'll be right back."

The man takes to the air, with you and Goku following him in a very short flight to a spot just within eyesight of the others. The man looks back at the group, then at the two of you.

"Sorry for the secrecy, but I need to talk to you two, and I think things will move quicker if I don't have to answer too many questions from everybody else," he explains.

He looks you dead in the eye. "I'll start with the big question. My name is Trunks, and I'm your son."

"Trunks" chuckles. "Yeah, mom said you'd probably react like that."

He produces an envelope with your name written on it. Your heart rate picks up as you realize that you know that handwriting.

"Trunks" hands you the envelope, and you open it up, finding a short message in Bulma's handwriting.

"Tofoo, I know this will probably be a lot for you to take in, but this is our son, Trunks, all grown up. Please listen to what he has to say, it could save a lot of lives.

"Three years from now, on May twelfth, on an island nine miles South West of South City, two beings of incredible power will appear," Trunks explains. "They'll lay waste to the city, then begin a global rampage. In my time, they will have brought the world to its knees, and killed nearly anybody who dared to oppose them."

"Wait, so none of us could stop them?" Goku asks.

Trunks shakes his head. "In three years, the Earth's Special Forces will be almost entirely wiped out. The only ones that survived more than a few weeks were myself, Kori, and Konattsu."

"So they even killed us?" Goku asks, glancing over at you.

Trunks shakes his head. "Not you, Goku. Two years from now, you'll come down with a virus that attacks the heart. You don't survive."

"You're kidding," Goku shouts in disbelief. "You mean I get taken out by a lousy virus, and these two take down everyone else?"

"Who or what are these two?" you ask Trunks as Goku continues to mope over dying before the fight.

"They're man-made killing machines," Trunks explains. "They call themselves Number 19 and Number 20. They're androids, or cyborgs, or one's an android and one's a cyborg, I'm not really sure the proper way to say it. But they're powerful enough to kill everybody."

"Even me?" you ask.

Trunks nods. "Sorry, dad, but you were one of the first to go. And with Piccolo dead, the Dragonballs are gone too, so we can't bring anybody back to life."

"Is your mom still alive?" you ask.

"She was when I left," Trunks tells you. "But we took a big risk in sending me back. There's a chance that they could have found her, or somebody could have ratted her out."

"Wait, so did they destroy the world, or conquer it?" you ask.

"They conquered it," Trunks tells you. "And there aren't many people who are trying to do anything about it. Most of the people who would have are already dead."

"So where did they come from?" you ask. "Why are they doing all this?"

"You're not going to like the answer, dad," Trunks tells you. "Do you remember the Red Ribbon Army?"

Memories come flooding to your mind; an explosion that almost killed you, tanks rolling up to the Ox King's village, Muscle Tower, General Blue, Mercenary Tao, and the assault on Commander Red's compound. Long ago, the Red Ribbon Army had tried to gather the Dragonballs, their eventual aim being World Conquest. Thanks largely to the efforts of yourself, Goku, and Krillin, they were thwarted, and Commander Red imprisoned.

"You mean they came back?" Goku asks.

"In a manner of speaking," Trunks answers. "One of their scientists, Doctor Gero, created a new body for himself, and had his brain transferred into it. He called this new body Number Twenty. He built another body, and named it Number Nineteen. The two of them destroyed the city I mentioned, then rampaged across the planet, killing anybody who stood in their way. Once the world's defenders and armies were destroyed, they demanded that everybody obey them. Ever since then, Doctor Gero has been ruling over the Earth, and a new Red Ribbon Army has risen to enforce his laws."

"I can't believe it," Goku tells him. "Tofoo, Krillin and I were able to handle the Red Ribbon Army as kids. How could they make something that strong?"

"Honestly, I don't know," Trunks answers. "Even my mom can't quite wrap her head around it. But I promise you they're a complete nightmare. If you thought Freeza was bad, these things are easily a hundred times worse."

"Not really," Trunks tells you. "For a while, Kori, Konattsu and I were able to hide from them, but only because they weren't equipped for long-range scanning. But that changed."

He clenches his hands into fists. "Fifteen years from now, Doctor Gero will unleash another one of his monsters. He calls this one Number Sixteen, and unlike 19 and 20, 16 can track energy from across the planet. Unless I suppress my power, there's no hiding from him."

"So it's just you, Kori, and Konattsu?" you ask.

Trunks's hands clench tighter, and you're horrified to see tears begin to stream down his face. "No, it's just me."

Stepping forward, you give your son a hug.

Trunks stiffens, clearly not expecting that, but a moment later, he's hugging you back, crying into your shoulder like a child. This will have been the first time you've held him in seventeen years, so you guess this is strange for him.

"I'm sorry I went so quickly," you tell him. "I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me. But I want you to know how proud I am of you, and that I will train until I'm strong enough to face these things."

"Thank you," Trunks tells you, his voice full of grief.

As the two of you break apart, he wipes the tears from his eyes. "I know this is a strange request, and kind of a selfish one, but please don't use the Dragonballs to find Gero. Mom wasn't sure exactly how the time travel will work. If we can stop the Androids three years from now, then maybe things will change in my future. But if not, we'll know we're strong enough to defeat them. I can take you back to my future, and we can stop them there as well."

"Don't worry," Goku tells Trunks. "I want to see what these Androids are made of."

"Is there anything we can do about Goku's sickness?" you ask Trunks.

"Well, twenty years from now, there is a cure for the virus," Trunks informs you, producing a small vial, and handing it to Goku. "Take this once you get sick."

Goku nods. "I will, thank you. I'll make those Androids pay."

Trunks manages a smile. "You're definitely as brave as mom said you were. But, can I you for a favor?"

Goku blinks. "Uh...sure."

"I know you can turn into a Super Saiyan," Trunks tells him. "Can you show me?"

Goku grins. "Sure."

Your friend adopts a serious expression, locking his elbows at his side and letting out a yell.

You feel a tremendous surge of power, so much so that you're actually forced back by it. You watch as a golden aura appears around Goku, and as his hair turns the same color, standing up straight atop his head. His eyes turn green, and his muscles seem to grow just a bit.

Trunks smiles. "Yep, that's a Super Saiyan."

He locks his elbows at his sides. "Kuma-Ken!"

A bright green aura surrounds your son, and his power surges as he stares across at Goku, who offers a smile in return.

"Now, let me see if you're as strong as my mom says you were," Trunks challenges, launching himself at Goku and throwing a punch.

Goku raises his left hand, catching the punch. The shockwave created by this collision forces you to shield your eyes from the wind, and when you look again, Trunks has taken a step back.

"Goku, I want to fight you," he tells your friend. "I want to find out just how strong you are, and what that means for me."

You decide to sit back and watch your son battle Goku.

"Alright, here I come!" Trunks shouts, rushing forward, appearing to be attempting a simple charge.

At the last moment, however, he makes use of the Afterimage Technique, slipping behind Goku before using it again to come to Goku's left, then Goku's right, then finally, in front of Goku, where he throws a punch aimed at your friend's face.

Goku isn't fooled, and parries the punch, smirking before vanishing into thin air, leaving an Afterimage behind. Trunks isn't fooled, and quickly takes off, using his aerial view to search for Goku.

Spotting Goku as the Saiyan attempts to maneuver behind him, Trunks fires a blast of energy that Goku deflects into the sky. Trunks takes advantage of this temporary opening to race in and attack, unleashing a furious combination of strikes.

As you watch this exchange, you begin to see the problem for Trunks. His technique is great, but Goku's is even better. And, as the two exchange blows, you can sense the difference in their powers. Trunks is incredibly powerful, but Goku eclipses even him.

Unless Trunks does something unexpected soon, Goku will win.

The two fighters return to the ground, with Trunks continuing his attacks. Then, he leaps back, opening his mouth wide and firing a wave of energy from his gullet. Goku's eyes widen, and he brings up his arms to block the attack, not getting out of the way this time.

"You know the Bear Shout, too?" Goku asks, surprised.

Trunks nods. "I know most of my dad's techniques."

Goku smiles, then springs forward, rushing at Trunks, who gets into a defensive stance. The Saiyan throws a series of punches that quickly force Trunks back, then throws a kick that catches your son in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Trunks begins to sit up, only to find Goku's fist flying toward his face.

Your friend stops at the last second, smiling, and powering back down. "You're pretty good, Trunks."

He offers your son his hand. Powering down, Trunks accepts it.

You smile. "Well, what do you think of Goku's power?"

I'm way too into this quest right now. I was thinking about it at work tonight and I started to obsess over how we would manage to get Goku to SSG if we only have so many Saiyans...

Even if he were to have Gohan, he'd be Goten's age by the time Beerus showed up, so probably only Kori would have a child, if at all... We'd still be short 2 Saiyans...

Man, if only that Tenshinhan had convinced that Saiyan girl to get on his dick and chill on Earth with us.
>>
>>1310177
Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return! might happen in the quest and we have a shot at convincing Tarbles to chill with us at that point.
After that...fuck we'd still be short a monkey. Maybe Suno wants 3 kids?
>>
>>1310206
Suno wouldn't be opposed, but she'd also be happy if Kori was their only child.
>>
>>1310228
I'm sure it must be hell making food for just 2 Saiyans. Better we find another way of getting another Saiyan warrior, if we even get to Super.

If we get Dende to make new Dragon Balls, can he remove the limitation on their resurrection so we can revive people who died more than a year prior?
>>
>>1310239
He already can revive people who died more than a year ago, just not in large groups. If you were to say, ask him to revive Grandpa Gohan, he could do it, but if you asked Shenron to revive everybody killed by the Red Ribbon Army years and years ago, he would be unable.
>>
>>1310242
Oh. Well then I guess Raditz is our best bet. He's too weak to actually cause any trouble anymore seeing as even Konnatsu can slap his shit now.
Maybe he'll actually see the futility of his "conquest" now that Frieza and King Cold are dead.
>>
>>1310242
We could always revive Napa or Vegeta.

I mean if piccolo can heel face turn, so can they.

Probably not at the same time though.

Actual make a Thunder Punch by combining the Bear punch and Lightning Punch. Basically making the stun attack more effective with an added heavy damage blow, making on impact will cause a loud booming sound as if the one being hit was hearing thunder in a storm.

Alright, who was FTrunks into? Kori, Konatsu, or both?

Is there any way to develop time stop powers?

so, wait FTrunks plan is to have us prepare like crazy for three years then show up in force and curb stomp the androids. Was he betting on us, or on Goku?

Assuming we manage to beat the three known androids he wants us to travel into the future and fight them at the height of their power.

That implies that all time travel is travel to a different point on an alternate timeline and no changes to the time stream carry over.

so why not travel a little further back in time, grab SSJ Goku, chuck him in the time chamber for training, then travel right back and murder the androids?

If it won't affect your timeline, why would you care?

Hell, lets go grab Bardock, or kidnap Broly, or seek the help of ancient Kaia or what have you.

>ki blocking

Shen can use it, we should steal it

>flashing blade.

Channel the massive arm speed required for the eight arm method not to produce multiple strikes, but to produce a single impossible to see thrust or slash the instant an enemy enters the correct range.

>intercepting blade

As above, but tofoo stand ready to counter attack with both arms repeatedly. Done correctly the offending attack should be shaved away without visible effort.
>>
>>1311047
Honestly we should just focus on training the Ki Blade, making it longer, making it wider, making it faster, ect., ect.

I think that's our best use of the 3 year training
>>
>>1311060
So from Ki-Blade, we make the Ki-Sword?
>>
>>1311194

>>1311263
well the "sword" part of "Ki-Sword" Is mostly just a better indication of it's length (The only difference it has from the Ki-Blade technique). Something as vague as "Blade" is more likely to be misconstrued.
>>
>>1311060
there are so many techniques we need to learn.

Weve only mastered our own personal ki, there are probably AT LEAST two other levels. but doing so would invalidate beam attacks and greatly enhance our existing techniques. especially kuma ken.

The energy blocking technique is great for leveling the field.

instant transmission has many great uses in and out of combat.

getting our base power level at or around freezas final form

indefinite (constant) kuma-ken

spirit bomb would be great, but Tofoo is too much of a combat pragmatist to have a pure heart.

eventually want to learn mystic form since it seems much more useful for a human, rather than an amazing technicolor saiyan.

thats not talking about combining techniques, improving techniques, or learning completely new techniques.

Like the Nail Gun

not to mention that Cell is immune to a (much, much weaker than him) krillin's kienzan.

depending on how much we close the power gap we cant be sure our kienzan blade will cut the bastard.
>>
>>1311386
>He thinks we're fighting Cell

No, we legitimately can't do shit against him

What we do is we sacrifice ourselves heroically against, like Imperfect, maybe Semi-Perfect, whatever would make a better narrative

And as long as we don't get absorbed, set up a beam struggle and give up or something, bam, Otherworld, then we train Ki until we're revived by the dragonballs, sometime in the Buu Saga i imagine
>>
>>1311386
The way I see it, our priorities are:
>Beat Pendulum Frieza in Base Form
>Learn Instant Transmission
>See if we can start training in higher gravity
And depending on how we play our cards, we might be able to learn mystic form. Tofoo must have fucking monster potential to be relevant at this point.

I still think learning the technique behind the kikohou would work as the basis for our very own Nuke. Shit's so powerful than even that a human who's not even half a super saiyan can stunlock semi-perfect Cell.

Considering Tofoo improved on the Kaioken and at least in the past he had a tendency for megamanning techniques, surely he could learn it and then apply the know how of said fuck you nuke to develop his own that just like kuma-ken, has all the power with little to none of the flaws.

Besides, if I remember well, the kikohou is pretty much instantaneous rather than having a relatively long travelling time that most beams like the kamehameha has

>>
>>1311860

But does it really sucks lifeforce? Tenshihan used it plenty of times and all the drawback it showed was using Ki and stamina rather than just Ki.

I mean, Tenshinhan lived a lifespan no different from non kikohou using people.

Besides, if stamina is something to be worried about, I think Tofoo loses a lot more stamina/energy being worn out by strong fighters and sustaining Kuma-ken for too much time than he would do with a Ki attack with a colossal damage multiplier than more than makes up for Kumaken not being as strong a multiplier as SSJ.

And as mentioned before, Tofoo can always improve it, at least drastically reduce the vitality drain even if that means a slightly weaker nuke, kinda like how kumaken isn't as strong as kaioken at its maximum output but is much more sustainable and doesn't kill Tofoo's body
>>

What i think it happend here was. Ten managed to increase his ki in such way that he can fire the kikohou without consuming his life force. You can think this way,the kikohou drains a absurd amount of ki to be used AND ones life force. If a person's ki isn't enough to release the kikohou. The kikohou will start eating up the users life force.

Seriously that is some pussy shit right there.

>whine whine whine Saiyan whine whine

Might as well go full Black and wish to be Goku.

Consider the following: Before Goku saiyans were widely considered to be just okay fighters. Their culture had been thoroughly bitch slapped by Frieza, and even earthlings could potentially match or exceed them in power.

What changed?

Goku fulfilled an ancient legend and essentially became the Chosen One of the Saiyan race.

Then (in canon) Vegeta rode his coat tails to great power bitching the entire way.

SOMNIUS is a much better writer than Akira Toriyama in the respect that he isn't going to sideline humans in favor of the Alien Power Hour.

But he isn't going to hand you a win either. As it should be.

You want to be relevant and powerful? Use your brain. Come up with a good idea for training like that one anon did.

Vote for us to spar with Trunks, he is better than we are right now.

Come up with crazy ideas for us to get stronger.

Embrace the idea of NO LIMITS. because it's the truth.

Future Trunks PROVES a human can keep up with a Saiyan, and he has very informal training and nothing near the resources we do.

Make a wish to alter the HB time chamber for unlimited uses.

Take a trip into space and fight meteor storms on a planet with 1000X gravity

Have our loving wife develop healing tech, or something else similar.

Train on the sun.

Fight Picollo and Goku every day in super high gravity

Try and get Grand Kai to teach us

Not all of these are feasible, but to just give up and wish to be Goku is stupid as hell.

Anime abounds with crazy training ideas! NO LIMITS
>>
>>1314111
Besides all your dicksucking, how feasible do you think it would be to lock bulma in the time chamber to come up with cybernetic implants or whatever and stick them in us?

Being human is fine and all but being alive is better.
>>
>>1314111

>>
Does anyone have a list of all our abilities, how strong they are, how we can improve them and what we could actually learn (IT is off the list, I guess)?

>>
>>1314114
10X gravity could potentially kill her the instant she steps inside. Wish we could train the wifey up, but this is the road she chose.

I think given 3 years and ample warning Bulma could easily come up with something impressive.

Tech ideas:
Satellite surveillance. Can't find someone with their energy? Find them the CIA way.

Healing tech: already have ready access, miniaturize that shit and stick it in our armor. Might not last a whole fight. Keep spares in capsules.

Improved gravity chamber: dr briefs can probably solo this one in what? A week?
>>
>>1314129
You're on the right train of thought
>>
I think I said this before, but fighting Frieza in the Gravity Room doesn't really make us physically stronger as it's all a hallucination. We should probably limit fighting him to once a week or something. Getting to 450 times gravity without Kuma-Ken should be our first priority honestly.
>>
>>1314132
>>1314129

Yes.
Ok, so the robots don't emit energy which means we need tighter surveillance and we can monitor the city we know they'll show up in.

I'm all for a regeneration (dozens even, in capsules) armour.

I think we should look into implants/android shit. Maybe even try to find a way to make our own (even if not for this saga)

Spirit bomb is a must

Why not learn the mafuba to get Cell and train while he's imprisoned?

Resurrect Nappa/some other saiyan that can join us

Wish Shenron for truly unlimited potential/faster gains

Focus on developing exploding balls of ki to disintegrate Cell (and later Buu)

Ask King Kai about universal lore in detail so we can potentially learn about Beerus, other alien races with special skills, long lost techniques, etc
>>
>>1314136
Very true, but we need to work on our technique.

Training the mind is every bit as important as training the body.

For example, if you think about it there is a great reason kumaken cant be pushed with multipliers.

We specifically designed it not to hurt the body. Thus it relies on ki control to manage the power surge. Improving ki control most likely improves its power boost. Maybe.
>>
>>1314145
Tofoo is too Killy to learn the spirit bomb. King kai would have mentioned it if we could handle it.
I would like it as well, but we are a bit too Vegeta.

We already know the mafuba, we just aren't good at it.

Humans already have NO LIMITS.

Asparagus is off in space somewhere. If tien makes enough gains she might want some.

We know kamehameha. A technique to leave explosive ki in the wound left by our ki sword would be nifty.

King Kai isn't always forthcoming with his lore. We should ask for advice on our training regimen from him, see what he has to say. Flattery will get you everywhere with the King.
>>
>>1314150
We could host a party for all the Kais with tons of food jokes and whatever and weasel secrets out of them, maybe even boast that we're the best and have the best skills just so they would get us great opponents or show us greater stuff, you understand what I mean?

I still think getting Shenron to give us limitless ki/stamina and/or make our gains ridiculously faster is the more immediate solution, 3 years, 3 wishes.
>>
First thing's first, Tofoo should learn Instant Transmission.

Obviously we're going to need to train, and our main focus should be growing stronger in our base form. But probably more importantly than just us getting gains, we should focus on others as well. Piccolo, Goku, Tofoo, Tien and Kori are our power houses right now, but Lapis seems to have a wellspring of potential. Obviously we shouldn't ignore Konattsu, Krillin, Chi-Chi, Yamcha or Chiaotzu either.

But probably equally important are Shen, Roshi and Mutaito. Especially Mutaito. He probably has a plethora of knowledge we could and should utilize.

If we're going to train, instead of starting with the obvious Goku and Piccolo, I think we should start with Mutaito, if we can even find him. Goku can lock onto people's energies and steal their sunglasses, and Roshi's sunglasses are probably near Mutaito, so we could probably utilize that.

Also, we should make a new move. Some kind of big grand flashy attack, much akin to Vegeta's Final Flash. I'd probably go for a stronger Bear Shout, but I'm down for other ideas. Or something crazy like exploding someone's Ki, which we could probably do if we spent some time with Mutaito.

Either way, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber should be the LAST thing we do with our three years of training. Utilizing it in the last couple days to finely hone everything we've learned, maybe even with our son.

I dunno, guys. I'm just brainstorming here.

>Party for the Kais

That has potential
>>
>>1314154
Be honest with me, is there any way we can reach something akin to SSj2-3 and overpower Cell or at least no be pure trash, or it's going to be a struggle all the way, even if we improve?
Because as a human, I don't see a whole lot of options in terms of power capable or rivaling the upcoming threats
>>
I have an idea.

Train everyone in ki to the point where they can send it all to us and we can use it like trunks sword in super (the asspull) or Zmasu's purple Evangelion-like thing
>>
>>1314146
The only reason I say we should limit fighting Pendulum Frieza to once a week is because it'd put a massive amount of stress on Tofoo. Doing it once a week would make it seem like Tofoo's training is progressing a lost faster than it is, boosting his morale. Plus it'd give us plenty of time to meditate on what we can do better as a fighter.
>>
>>1314153
Chaozu is probably the strongest fighter on earth right now in terms of ability (barring Goku who is head and shoulders above all of us)

Tien is also powerful.

Take them with us in the pendulum room to fight frieza. And let them learn the Kumaken while we fight.

Bam, two fighters able to stand up to semi perfect cell.

Learning from mutaito is a great idea, but he might not agree to teach us in the time he has left.
Or he might insist we do nothing but train under him.

If that's the case we have three other options.

First, wish for Mutaito's understanding of ki.
Second, use the pendulum chamber to travel back to the tournament and fight him until we get it.
Third we have a time machine. Use it to return to the instant mutaito returned to life, train under him (with Trunks) until he dies or the androids show up, then travel back to now and train the regular way.

The time machine could also be used to spam abuse the tree of life, but SOMNIUS would correctly veto that.

I'm all for huge flashy attacks like final flash and starlight breaker and the like.

As for the time chamber, I say we reserve that for around where it happened in canon. Assuming cell gets to perfect we need a training ace in the hole.

If we can wish away the limitations then using it as a cap would be acceptable.
>>
>>1314163

You gave me a great idea: teleport us to thew first 15 minutes when the androids show up so we can fight/test them and when that time is up we are thrown back into our time.
>>
>>1314156
Of course you're going to struggle, that's kind of the point
>>
>>1314156
Som can't get off if we don't struggle.
>>
>>1314163
I feel like using the dragon balls for these gains in a bit unnecessary. We should be saving them, not abusing them for gains we can rightfully earn on our own through sweat, struggles and good rolls(we just need to feed the dice).

We still have Cooler to fight, too.

Also, didn't Trunks already leave? SOM said he flew off and Tofoo flew back to the others with Goku.

Mutaito, gravity training with all our homies, meditation and pendulum room are our best bets, in that order. Not to say the PR is that worst decision, but meditation yielded us Kuma-Ken, and as I said before, Mutaito probably has a plethora of stuff to learn us, which I'm sure we would probably get best results from with meditation.
>>
>>1314172
>>1314167

Right, so since we will never break the bank, we should focus on:

Acquiring new techniques
Improve what we already have
Increase base power
Get surveillance tech for when the bots show up
Help all our team improve (gonna be a team effort)
Get regeneration tech
Try to get new allies
Finally master ki
Jew the kais out of some nice secrets

AND/OR

Seriously consider becoming Guardian and teach new batches of fighters
>>
>>1314177
Guardian can wait until after Cell. I mean, maybe we'll get to play as Trunks after the time skip?
>>
>>1314156
>it's going to be a struggle all the way, even if we improve?

Yes. Welcome to a SOM's quest. You must be new.
>>
>>1314177
I think the Guardian bit, if we even pursue that, should wait till after Cell.
Having a decently powerful powerful guardian who's also widely known and supported is something Kami might go for.
I also think we have the right mentality for it, being peaceful and kind, but not above doing what must be done.
Plus us teaching new generations of fighters ties into something else we wanted to do in the first place (Bear School Dojo) and we'd be totally justified in doing so. After the Cell Saga, Earth will probably be in dire need of some strong fighter to fill in the gaps.
>>1314179
That'd be tight. Som would have to bust his ass to make that work though.
>>
>>1314179

>>1314186

Hey, SOM, have you ever given thought to running a Shaman King Quest?

I'd never ask you to run more than 2 at once, I recently burnt myself out running 5 different games for a few different groups of friends, but I think that's an anime that would benefit from your style a bit.
>>
Yeah. Tofoo should take every advantage he can get to stay relevant compared with the saiyans. Technology, creative use of older techniques, learn techniques of others, reinvent older techniques and develop new ones, basically do all the shit goku never does because he can simply overwhelm enemies with raw power.

I mean, at least in canon, Goku relied much more in simply getting tougher and muscular plus ever increasing SSJ power multiplier than in developing new abilities or simply improve his ki control. Even the few ones he learned such as the genki dama and the teleportation were rarely used.
>>
>>1314212
Not familiar with Shaman King
>>
>>1314264
We need to focus on learning new stuff on top of advancing our gravity training then.
We might want to talk to Master Mutaito then.
He's bound to know something incredibly powerful. If he can't teach us a move per say, he can at least give us some very helpful advice if we explain the situation to him.
>>
Also, we should totally as the other anon said, get into knowing the kaios and learn their techniques. Surely the cool old guy Grand Kai knows one or two things.

At least Tofoo should learn the Kaioken as its power is completely independant from the power of the user so Goku can act as meatshield while Tofoo charges. In before heart purity, because if a battleboner blood knight like canon Goku (who also lets MASS MURDERERS get away just because he wants to fight stronger enemies in future) can learn it, surely Tofoo also can.
>>
>>1314463

genki dama i meant, not kaioken.
>>
>>1314463
Your definition of pure hearted isn't correct.

The main qualifier for being pure hearted is mercy. And Tofoo simply isn't a merciful person, at least not to anyone who could reasonably kill him.

Sparing appule was merciful, but that's about the only pure hearted thing Tofoo has done in my memory.

And that has to be weighed against murdering the Ginyus when they were beaten, the manner in which he dispatched Turles, considering murdering kami to stop piccolo, and other acts of pragmatism.

Is Tofoo evil? Clearly not. He does however fall far short of any kind of Pure Hearted.

So unless anons radically change the way they portray Tofoo he will never gain the genki dama.

There are variants of the Genki Dama that don't require pure heartedness, but we haven't conquered the universe.

A more neutral form of the move might be possible, but it's form and mechanics would probably vastly differ from the regular spirit bomb.
>>
>>1314517
Addendum.

>MegaCorp Bomb

This technique requires Capsule corp to develop rudimentary ki technology. They then incorporate small ki antennas into all of their technology. Upon being activated these devices will transmit a small portion of the life energy around them to a Central Reciever. The effect is a spirit bomb like attack.

As Capsule spreads its products across the galaxy the attack will get more powerful.

Drink Hetap, Smile Everyday!
>>
>>1314517
I don't see why a move where you're collecting a sliver of energy from every lifeform available requires you to be pure hearted, but you're right.
Genki Dama can go to somebody who's actually pure hearted, like Kori.
>>
>>1314517

Is that what toriyama said? Then his vision of what passes for being pure hearted is pretty twisted if simply being merciful accounts for being pure hearted while having a lust for battle and violence is considered pure. And then there's the little fact where even as a kid, Goku killed plenty of beasts (some even intelligent) and humans such as the red ribbon mooks.
>>
>>1314543
Sorry to mention it anon, but Super Saiyan isn't compatible with Genki Dama due to being fueled by rage and anger.

Kori might be able to get past that, but Trunks or konnatsu would have an easier time of it.
>>
>>1314555
Yeah. Present Trunks seems like our best shot anyways.
Also Goku managed to use the Genki Dama with Super Saiyan once I think. But by that time he had made the first transformation second nature almost, leaving no traces of rage.
>>
Also, we should take pains to learn the devilmite beam. Being able to kill opponents with their own evil would be extremely useful against some future threats. Not the cyborgs, but it would probably harm cell, buu, and many others.
>>
>>1314583

Isn't that a racial ability? One would think that making people explode through their own evil is something that would be innate in demons and not in humans
>>
>>1314586
Probably. But if we can learn it or something like it we should.

What ever happened to him anyway?

Well, goku might pick up some more things than he did in canon, because our influence has made him just a bit more serious. I really love that he was gunning to put frieza in the ground, he just didn't realize freezer could live through a planet exploding. (Which no one can blame him for) As for him learning new tech and not going for pure gains, that means we have to spend time with Goku. The more we spend time training with Goku, the more we can show him the advanced techniques, or at least, he can movesponge a few if we spar with him, he's shown himself to be incredibly good at that. In addition, we might be able to movesponge I.T. off Goku if he is too inept to teach it (which Som has seemed to imply) during a spar.

I for one, would love to see him clash Ki blades with Black, way, way down the line.

So as a course of action, Let's invite Goku, Kori, and a few others over to the grand opening of the new and improved gravity chamber and set the GAIN TRAIN to maximum.
>>

Anybody can learn it, it's just traditionally a technique made for use by demons.
>>
>>1314538
this would be funny as hell. I see a giant spirit bomb with the capsule corp logo clearly visible inside.
>>
>>1314607

Nice, I didn't think about looking at the wikie. Also, looks like pure heart is also something that can be learned. Also this

"It should be noted that while Goku possesses a pure heart, he has killed people though most were villains who gave Goku little choice but to kill them (such as Frieza and Kid Buu), with the exception of Grandpa Gohan whom Goku killed unintentionally while in his Great Ape form (Goku was shown to be remorseful after realizing he was responsible for his adoptive grandfather's death during his battle with Great Ape Vegeta during the Saiyan conflict) due to his inability to control himself in that form. This shows that one can commit potentially evil actions (such as killing) yet still be considered Pure Good as long as their intentions for doing so are good or lack any negative intent (such as in Goku's accidental killing of Grandpa Gohan)."

Tofoo confirmed for pure hearted. He never killed with negative intents and if the rage and hatred Goku felt sometimes can be easily nulled by his usual chill behavior, then the times Tofoo was tempted into easy power should be nulled by his usual good nature.
>>
>>1314642
The difference is that while Goku enjoys striving against strong opponents, he doesn't go into the battle looking to kill them.

Tofoo kills downed enemies just so they won't be a problem later. (Canon) Goku kills only as a last resort.

Also worth noting our Goku might not know the Genki Dama either.

And if you still have doubts, lust is a negative emotion.

And while we may love her dearly, those things we did after the tournament alone probably made us sink into our nimbus a bit.
>>
>>1314689
>Tofoo kills downed enemies just so they won't be a problem later. (Canon) Goku kills only as a last resort.

A kill is a kill, and both did it for the same reason, because they are evil fucks that won't stop until they kill everybody the heroes loves. I mean, canon Goku didn't have any reason to kill all the people he killed, and as mentioned before, even back when he was a kid, he was murdering intelligent beasts/monsters and humans like the red ribbon soldiers regardless if tehy were a world ending menace or not.

Also, Goku too gets lewd with his canon and tofooverse wives out of pleasure, so he's every bit as guilty of lust as Tofoo.
>>
>>1314607
Y'know, i'm pretty sure Som didn't want us to learn that because it'd gimp Freeza, but now its fine

>Androids might have hearts?

fair enough.

>crazy training ideas.

go back in time and let king picollo kill us. we become a ghost spirit thing and train to understand ki.

we might be able to refine this further to become incorporeal at will

train on the sun.

take a ship out tiwards the sun, park it. form a ki shield around some air. see how long we can withstand the energy.

we would probably end up with a perfect ki shield and massive resistance to energy attacks.
>>
>>1316129 #
I have an even better idea. We should try to suplex the Sun in the pendulum room, repeatedly. Then we can live by the credo of the greatest man alive, Brock Lesnar.
Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Suplex. Repeat.

Hey Suplex, i just noticed your Thread ID starts with WWF
>>
>>1316373
actually, the pendulum room is perfect for developing techniques.

you can do any stupidly lethal shit you want like trying to make a shield that will let you tank a solar flare (the stellar event, not the technique).

it also allows us to observe any fighter throughout history.

we could chill with a young grand kai, of hang out with king kai while he invents the genki dama.
