New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

Your skillset is a bit small, so it might be time to expand your spell repertoire. With your knowledge of Mana Projection and your Inner Darkness at your beck and call for now, you work with those two abilities to try designing a new spell for yourself. It takes some trial and error, but you think you have something. By infusing your mana with your Inner Darkness, you can ‘push’ the dark mana outward in front of you like a wave, forcing back enemies. It’s not the most damaging spell, but with some thinking you can probably find some good uses for it.

Maybe if you can prove yourself to her family, most importantly her father, perhaps you can earn their approval and then Helia won’t have to worry about this. You try to get her to open up about her family, but she tells you she isn’t in the mood to talk about them. Further attempts at prying only evoke a stronger response from her. This clearly isn’t going to work right now. Deciding that pushing her any further right now would only damage your relationship, you back off. Maybe with some time to cool down, she’ll be more open to talking.

Time waits for no man, and neither will your enemies. Putting off training is a good way to lose future fights, so now is the best time to do it. Heading out into the practice yards, you set up in front of one the practice dummies, and start chopping. Your sword cuts smoothly through the air as it finds its mark on the dummy. The dummy is designed to make basic attacks, to help students learn simple defensive moves and to begin learning how to read an opponent’s actions. It gives you little trouble, as you easily predict its sluggish moves, parrying and blocking the attacks effortlessly. After a while, you feel you’ve plateaued with the dummy and that you won’t make any more progress with it, so you decide to call it a day.

Fire is a common offensive magic, with most mages learning Fire as their first magic, so having a solid defense against it would be a good idea. That knowledge in mind, you get to work designing a barrier to resist the element of fire in particular. Making some minor, but important, alterations to the Barrier Rune and you think you’ve got it. This version of your barrier will be stronger against Fire based attacks, but will be weaker against others.

Leaving the training yard, you head for the school’s farm. There you see animals of various sorts, including some of the magical variety. Among them are several breeds of horses. Some bred for speed, some stamina, and others for difficult terrain. I don't know shit about horses. Walking up to someone who you assume to be in charge, you ask if it’d be alright if you rode one of the horses. They ask if you know what you’re doing, and you assure them you do. They shrug and say go for it, so long as you don’t hurt the animals or damage anything. Nodding that you understand, the man points you towards the equipment storage where you can find the saddles and other gear. Picking some out, your next stop is to the stables and selecting a horse. Since you’re just looking for some basic practice, you choose the first one that doesn’t look like it’d kill you, and get it harnessed. Leading it out of the stables, you saddle up and take it for a few laps around the corral. Nothing strenuous, you’re just getting comfortable in the saddle for the most part. After a few hours you decide it’s been long enough and put the horse and tackle back up. Noticing you smell like a barn, you hit the showers to wash the stink off.

After spending so much time trying to understand Red Forest’s language, you realize how long it’s been since you spent any time with it. It’s time to fix that. For a good portion of the day you spend time playing with Red Forest, which is mostly just running around playing tag since an orb of magic is only capable of so much. Once you tire of that you spend the rest of the day just relaxing with Red. While just sitting in relative silence, you feel something from Red: contentedness. Even if you aren’t doing all that much, it’s happy just being with you.

Now that you can understand Red a bit, it might be a good time to continue your experiment since it can tell you if something’s wrong now. Calling it over, you sit in front of Red and tell it what you’re planning to do. If it has any reservations, it doesn’t express them. Taking that as an ok, you begin. Slowly you transfer your mana filled with your Inner Light into it. Gradually, you see Red start to change. First, its color starts to lighten, making it look closer to pink than red. Second is its size. As the mana flows into it, Red grows in size. Originally the size of a softball, Red has now grown to be the size of a basketball. When you have have no more mana to give you tell Red, who isn’t so red anymore, that you’re done for now. It bobs up and down like it normally does when it’s excited or happy, and you can feel it is quite pleased with the changes. But that’s not all that you notice. As it moves around you can hear little dings and chimes from it. You ask if it makes those sound when it moves, and Red responds with a negative feeling, and a low *dong* sound. It seems the sounds it makes are another form of expression, sort of like how a dog wags its tail. Well, that’s certainly new.

If you want to learn about your mark, you’re most likely going to have to talk with that dragon. But Selene isn’t even going to tell you where that is unless you prove yourself to her, so that means it’s training time. Heading on down to the training field to practice, you see it’s filled with people. There isn’t a free spot anywhere, and all the equipment have people waiting their turn to use it. It seems like it’d be a waste of time to stand around and wait for your turn, so you go about the rest of your day.

Since you can’t train today, you go looking for your friend and roommate, Stephanie. You find her sitting on the grass with Harold. They see you approach and both wave you over. Giving your greetings, you look to Stephanie and ask if she can help you with the classes you missed. She looks a bit down and uncertain, “I’m sorry, but I’m not doing too well myself. And I’m not a very good teacher.” Well that’s a bust. Harold speaks up, “I’d offer, but I don’t think we share the same interests. But hey, anytime you want to learn Earth magic, just let me know.” You thank him for the offer. Since catching up on your missed lessons is out, you might as well catch her up on your recent events. You tell her about your Dragon mark, it’s absolutely not a chicken, and your discussions with Selene and Principal Katherine. She and Harold both listen intently, waiting quietly for the end of the story. “Wow!” Stephanie says amazedly, “That’s so cool Dania! I wish interesting things like that happened to me. Well, maybe not the part where you have to talk to a real dragon. That sounds super scary.” “That does sound interesting, but how are you going to convince Selene that you’re ready to meet a dragon? They aren’t exactly known for being weak you know? And you just started, so it’s not like it’ll be anytime soon before you’re strong enough to go.” Harold chimes in. He isn’t wrong. Even the weakest dragon would be more than enough to kill even the average first year. Hmmm, what to do.

After training with Noah and giving back the training weapon the other day (Noah of course gave you shit about not having your own weapon), you realized you need a weapon of your own. Being good with a hammer doesn’t help if you don’t actually have one to use. This needs to be rectified. Really only knowing one person, you go to ask Noah if he might know how you would go about getting a weapon. “You ever think about getting a job and just buying one, boy?” He says like you asked him the dumbest question in the world. “Maybe go find a large branch and carve it yourself. Use your brain, boy. Being a warrior for the Lord is more than than just swinging a sword in heavy armor while screaming ‘DEUS VULT!’. But lucky for you boy, something’s come up and we’re short handed here. We need someone to sort the armory out, and that duty falls to me as I’m the only one left here strong enough to pick up some of the heavier gear. If you can wield that practice hammer, you should be strong enough to handle anything in there. Sort that mess out, and I’ll let you have one of the practice hammers. Not like many people here use hammers anyways, so it’s no loss for us. And don’t even think about trying to take anything. You aren’t the sharpest blade, but I hope you at least have enough sense to not steal from a paladin order.” His piece said, he walks off, grumbling about how the armory shouldn’t have gotten to this point to begin with.

After your talk with Noah, you pay Mary a visit. Walking around to the front of the Cathedral shows barely anyone out here. You guess something big must be going on if it’s pulled so many away. Hopefully Mary’s still here. As you enter through the massive doors, you see the entire room is devoid of life, save for one woman kneeling at the alter. Hearing you enter, she finishes her prayers, stands, and turns to face you.

“Dante, is there something I can help you with?” You say yes as you make your way down the long aisle towards her. However, when you’ve nearly reached her your foot catches on the floor, and you fall forward. Instinctively you reach out for anything the catch yourself on, and grab hold. You’re initially glad when your descent stops, but then realization hits you. There was only one thing, one person, in front of you. And judging by the feeling in your hands, you didn’t grab her by the shoulders. Slowly looking up you see your hands are each filled with a mound of soft flesh, with Mary looking down at you with a blank expression. That quickly changes as her face turns flush in embarrassment. She looks like she’s about to cry. At least that’s what it looks like before her face tightens and burns red with anger. Noticing your hands are still groping her bountiful chest, you back off, but the damage is done. You can hear her grip tighten around her weapon. It might be time to go. You run back down the aisle and out the doors before she vents her anger and embarrassment onto you. The fact you were in the Cathedral was probably the only reason she didn’t tear you apart. It might be a good idea to let her cool down before you go back there.

Next he uses a special tool to cut a spiral on the inside of the barrel. This makes the bullet spin once it is shot out of the barrel, increasing the accuracy of the bullet.

Olivia and Gunther may have stopped whatever the hell the Bloody Angel did to you, but they didn’t clear it out. That’s not good enough. You need to know what exactly it is she did to you. Drawing a sample of blood, you run it for analysis in the Clinic. You sit down and wait, as the machines do their thing. A few hours pass, but they finally finish. Initial readings show that your blood cells are carrying magic on them. Light magic specifically. It doesn’t take a huge guess to assume they belong to her. Luckily whatever Gunther and Olivia did ‘disconnected’ the magic from the original user, so the threat of her commanding you again is small, but it’s still a possibility. Actually, anyone with a significant amount skill in Light magic could connect to the magic in your body and gain control of the magic, which is a very not good thing. However, you do feel something from them, part of your magic is enhanced with the extra mana inside you. Whether you choose to keep the extra magic for the boost or rid yourself of it is up to you, as all it would take would be a strong Dispel Magic or Anti-magic field to rid yourself of it.

Time was running out. If you waited too much longer Remi would end up married to that woman, trapped in a loveless marriage. You couldn’t allow that. You wouldn’t allow that. Remi deserved better. He deserved you. The next morning you decided you were going to ask him to marry you. His parents might not be happy about it, but Remi is his own person and can make his own choices. Beside you, Remi was waking up. “Markus? Are you okay? You look really serious.” Remi asks. It’s now or never. You tell Remi how much he means to you, and break the question: “Will you marry me?” Silence. Remi is stunned. Hopefully from happy surprise. “I… I...I’M SORRY!” He cries out, as he jumps out of the bed running off. You try running after him, but once he’s outside he flies off. There’s no way you can catch him. Days pass by and you still don’t hear from him. The stress of his situation must be more than he can take. You can only hope nothing bad has happened to him.

Speed and stamina becomes a real concern as Brooke brings rapid fire dragging you through her city, as she twists and turns the way only a person raised in the area could do. You’re shown all sorts of hidden coves over culture from random paintings, to street performers that only appear during a set time frame. The whole experience is eye opening, as well as a bit overwhelming if you had been by yourself. Luckily for you Brooke is there to take your hand and show you the way to a pretty bitching diner where a few of her non-magical friends work. The food is simple on the surface, but the flavors are out of this world. If she hadn’t told you it was made without magic it would be easy to believe that some sorcerer was in part-timing in the kitchen. Screen writers try to depict scenes of young love like this in the movies and you’re actually living it, what a way to spend the afternoon.

The mood stays around for awhile as the two of you head back to her house, which luckily for Brooke is a stone’s toss away from the beach. Her uncle isn’t home to her chagrin, but she tries not to let it bother her too much there’s always next time she tells you. However as the day drags on it seems like she’s attempting to deliberately wait as a long as possible to tell you more about her parents. Along with that, as you go through the house you oddly enough don’t find any pictures of them anywhere and she makes no effort to show you any family photos. Eventually she seems to muster up the courage to get the hard part out of the way, bringing you out to the porch where the ocean’s sounds fill the air.

“My parents weren’t good people Zoot.” She doesn’t look at you while she says that, instead she leans on the railing and keeps her eyes locked on the horizon. “I didn’t know it at the time growing up with them, I just thought they were your typical mages working and tinkering with their arts. It wasn’t until the accident that I even got a glimpse of what they were really doing.” One deep breath and a sigh later she turns to face you. “They were part of a cult that was attempting to raise some ancient sea god. The church found out and sent in paladins to stop the ritual. They managed that, but the magic was still active and it went awry drowning all the cult members directly linked to the summoning. That included my mom and dad. So I ended up here, with my uncle.” She pauses and wraps her arms around herself, either in embarrassment or the cold it’s hard to say. “But that’s not all. The cult members, they brought all their children with him to the ritual, it was going to be their crowning moment. The magic..” She stops and seems to fold in on herself it's not until you get close to her do you feel the slight aura that seems shrouding her.

Infatuation isn’t magic, but it feels like a curse. Your thoughts constantly wander back to that woman. You can’t focus on anything when she isn’t around, and you always want to know where she is and what she’s doing. That has to stop. You’re not sure if it’ll work, but you’re going to try anyways. You prepare to remove this curse from your mind, or would it be heart? Could be that other place. Regardless, what’s the worst that could happen? You focus, and cast the spell. It’s a little harder than it should be, as your mind tries drifting back to that woman. But you push those thoughts to the side. As the spell washes over you, you can feel your heart and mind clearing. When it finishes, you no longer have the urge to go track her down and stalk her. Not only that though, but the spell came to you easier, and felt stronger. Your desire to rid yourself of this affliction seems to have helped you improve your Lift Curse spell.

Finally catching a free moment, you answer Cornelius’ summons. Maybe he won’t be angry you’ve waited this long. His door is open when you knock, and he waves you in. “Finally decided to come? No matter, have a seat. We have some things to discuss.” Following his instructions, you sit. “Now, first thing I have to say is I’ve heard from Professor Balthazar about your encounter with a strange woman, something he called the first and only True Vampire, you and another student found in a hidden chamber. This is something you should’ve brought to the attention of the staff here much sooner than you did. You risked not only your safety, but that of the other students as well. The staff here encourage the students to branch out and try new things, to test their mettle, but to do it safely.” He takes a breath and shifts posture, “With that said, you did well finding and getting your brother to the infirmary after he was taken. It showed courage. However, again, this was a matter you should’ve brought directly to the staff. You risked not only your life, but that of your brother’s and the girl who followed you. You’ve got great potential, Alic, but you’re also very reckless.” He says as he thumbs through a folder with your name on it. “It’s fine to make mistakes.Everyone does. You should’ve seen Katherine and I back when we were students. Making mistakes are fine, and can be an excellent learning experience if you learn from them. Knowing what not to do can often be as important as knowing what to do.” Cornelius closes the file and pushes it to the side. “But, regardless of your mistakes, you did show great resolve and determination, and that deserves some recognition. So I give you these in the hopes you continue to improve. Balthazar helped me with picking out some suitable rewards for someone of your skillset, so if you have any problems with them, take it up with him. Just don’t go making it a habit of waking up powerful ancient beings, okay?” You nod, and take your leave.

"Aria, let's go take care of those plants." I say to her. I doubt I'll need the help to put down some oversized plants, but maybe it'll help as a bonding exercise. Or just in case something goes wrong, as I do seem to have terrible luck. Sword and armor ready, we head out to the Garden. There we see the tulips, trying to chomp away at anything that gets close. "This shouldn't be too hard, but watch yourself, ok? And try not to cause any collateral damage." Ready to fight, we ready ourselves. I open up with a volley of magical spells to soften them up. I start with Sustained, Big, and normal Dark Implosion combined with Dark Mine and Minefield, ripping some of the plants out of the ground and into the mines all the while peppering them with Dark Pulse. I could just keep hitting them with magic from a safe distance, but where the fun in that? I Infuse my sword with Shadow magic. With weapon raised, I open a Portal to drop me down above one of the plants and Cleave through it, followed by a Combo on any nearby plants. I Warp and Shadow Step across the mutated garden cutting the plants down, Blocking their attacks with my sword or letting my Armor soak up the lesser blows. Any attack from the plants that might be more than my armor can handle is repelled with from the force of Dark Explosion. By now between Aria and I, all the plants should be dead. I doubt she'd sustain any injuries from something like this, but make sure she's fine just in case and congratulate her on a job well done. With the plats dead, we leave the cleanup to the Garden Club or whoever else is supposed to do it.

A bummer about the training yard being so full, none the less Adal's spirits are high as he returned from the farm smelling of sweat, wind, and horse. Not a pleasant smell, but it was a sign of hard honest work. Showering Adal retired for the night sleeping in his dorm room that he was shown earlier, excited for tomorrow as it was the week end!~

Who knows maybe he'd meet up with Dania again? Would be nice to show off a little bit at least...

When morning comes the lad springs out of bed with a flurry of displaced blankets before quickly preparing for the day. Hrm what to do first, well can't go wrong with a bit of magic practice to get the old mind a whirling. Afterwards Adal would hunt down Dania since she seemed interested in riding for the week end, hopefully she wouldn't be too busy.

You hit up the training yard, looking for a sparring partner to improve your sword skills. Luckily there’s no shortage of people looking to test themselves and improve, so it doesn’t take long to find someone in your skill range to fight. Taking up your positions in the sparring circle, you begin. Your weapons clash as you both meet in the center of the ring, neither relenting into giving ground. Eventually though something gives and your opponent is forced backwards as the ground beneath his feet shifts. Having gained the momentum, you push forward and further drive him off balance. Unable to defend himself, you disarm him and sweep his legs. He hits the ground with a hard thud, the wind knocked out of his lungs, as you point your sword down at him. With no way to escape, he surrenders. You help him to his feet, and thank each other for the good fight. Your turn in the ring up, you make way for the next pair of fighters and just watch while you relax for a bit.

There are a few things you want to talk with Eliza about, so you go looking for here in her office. A quick swing by shows that she isn’t in. Well, she’s either out on VP business, or personal business. Taking a chance, you look for her the old fashioned way: just walk around aimlessly till she shows up. After several hours, you start to think she isn’t going to show. “Do you really have so little to do that you can waste your time like this?” Which is of course when she appears. You ask her if she has any useful contacts in Madrid you could use when you get there to make your job easier. “Useful? Hmmm, yeah, there is one. She’s very useful in a direct ‘crack your skull open’ sort of way. Can you use her? She’d probably smash your face in if you tried. Unless you can afford to feed her enough to kill an elephant. I swear that woman has a black hole in her stomach, which is where her brain resides. So yeah, if you got a lot of money for food, I know someone there who could help you a bit. Just remember she’s more of a merc than a reliable soldier, so every task is going to cost you.” Not as good as you would have liked, but it’s at least something. “If you wanna find her there, just look for her at lunch. She’ll be the one sitting alone at the table with enough food to fill a banquet. Watching how much she can eat is one of the most amazing and terrifying things I’ve ever seen.” Eliza is oddly serious about this. Can it really be that much? You’ll just have to find out when you get there. Getting away from a stranger’s eating habits, you ask Eliza about herself, and how she’s been. You haven’t spent much time with her lately. She walks over to you, and looks up at you with that cheshire grin on her face. “Come now my pet, didn’t I already tell you once that if you want my panties for your collection you’d have to try harder than that? Don’t dissapoint me now by reverting back to day 1.” She snickers at her torment of you. A moment or two passes before she finally stops and continues, “Oh you know me, just busy doing what I always do: Try to take over the world!” Her face beams with joy, as she makes the sweetest smile you have ever, and likely will ever, see. You wait for a minute for the smile to crack and listen to her laugh at you for taking her so seriously, but she doesn’t. Her smile does begin to fade though, as she opens her eyes to look back at you, “I think we’ve both wasted enough time here. Till next time, Lawrence.” She quickly flicks you between the eyes, forcing you to blink. When you open your eyes again, she’s gone.

Inside your local pawn shop you find a lot of old trash, and hardly anything neat. While perusing you see a glass case with a bunch of old coins on display. Inspecting it you find many of these coins are in good shape, and rather pricey. One particular spanish coin made in 1783 catches your eye. Old yep, pre 1800’s yep yep, not too fancy yep yep yep. It’s the perfect item to give Katherine, but this pretty penny will cost a pretty penny. Continuing your search you find an old fountain pen nestled inside a box. A card next it explains that it has an automation enchantment, you just think what to write, and it writes. Just as you were leaving the shop, you spot an hour glass sitting on a shelf. A card next to it explains that this hourglass has the ability to slow time around it.

Even Aria helps out by smiting the sinful plants. After you’re done killing the last carnivorous plant, you survey the room which now looks like a nuclear blast mixed with a giant salad. Well you did literally use mines, eh the gardening club can clean it up.

Waking up early, you go out for a brisk jog. The cool morning air lightly chills your skin, but the workout warms you up, so it equals out to a comfortable temperature. Everything is going well till a black cat runs out from a bush in front of you. Startled, you miss a step and fall awkwardly to the ground. When you hit the ground, you find your leg in complete pain. You take take a look and its bends at an unnatural angle. Crying out in pain, some passersby find you and help you to the infirmary. The nurse does her best to keep you calm as she helps you to a proper position. And gives you some pain killers. You feel better and soon you doze off. Upon waking up, you see that your leg looks proper and now in a cast. Nurse Olivia, tells you that she’s cast a slow magic on you and your leg will be healed in about 2 weeks. “Take care. Try not break it again.”

You didn’t get any answers from Selene or Katherine, and talking to a dragon isn’t a realistic option at the moment, so you think to try looking inside yourself for answers. Using the abandoned building for it quiet and solitude, you sit down with your legs crossed. That’s how they do it on tv, anyways. Eyes closed, you search within yourself. For a while, you find nothing. With your eyes closed, you’re not sure how much time passes when you finally hit something. Trying to look deeper, you find you’re unable to pass whatever it is that’s blocking you. Giving it your all, you make no progress. Finally giving up and opening your eyes, only now do you notice how hot, sweaty, and out of breath you are. Whatever that was blocking you isn’t going to be easy to get over.

A practice weapon is better than no weapon, so cleaning the armory it is. Noah shows you the way through the Cathedral. Although not nearly as visually amazing as the main room and exterior, it’s still something to see in it’s own right. You’re thankful you don’t bump into Mary, as she probably wouldn’t be too happy to see you quite yet. You’re also glad Noah decided to take you to the Armory personally instead of just giving directions, as this place is a maze. He finally stops in front of a strong looking wood door. You’d guess it’d take several men a good amount of time to work their way through that beast. “Here we are boy. I want this equipment properly sorted and place on the racks by the time I come back. You do your job, you get your weapon. You don’t do, you don’t. Simple as that. I’ll be back tonight. Try not not to break anything.” He says before turning about and leaving you with this mess. And a mess it is. Armor and weapons of all sorts and sizes litter the ground. It’s like no one even tried to put things back where they belong, they just threw it in here for someone else to sort. But enough of those thoughts, time to get to work. It’s already looking like it’s going to take all day, so talking to yourself isn’t helping. Before you can even sort them, you have to throw them to one side so you can actually reach some of the racks. As you pick up some the gear, you understand why Noah couldn’t get any of the remaining people here to do this: it’s really heavy. You’ve seen some of the worshippers walking around here, and you doubt they have the strength to pick this up. The armor is sorted first, since it’s the it takes up the most space. Regular breaks are needed to catch your breath and rest your muscles from the exertion. How do they wear this stuff? After sorting the Heavy, Medium, and Light armor, you move on to the weapons. These are all high quality weapons, and you bet even the cheapest among them costs a good deal. If you’re gonna fight demons, guess you can’t skimp out on quality. Careful not to slice a hand or foot off, you place the weapons into various racks, sorted by weapon type. When the last sword is put into place, you look around.

Now that the room is sorted, you see just how big the room is. There’s easily enough space here to gear fifty men, and then some. Seeing the job done, and opting not to get lost in the maze of hallways, you plop down and take a well earned breather. Just as soon as your butt hits the stone floor the Armory door opens and Noah walks in, and you notice he has one of the practice hammers with him. “You actually finished, boy? Would have thought your noodle arms would’ve given out by now.” He takes a look around the room to examine the arms and armor, making sure everything is in place. “Not bad, boy. Could’ve done better and faster, but you still kept your word and finished the task.” He hands you the hammer. “I’m a man of my word. You did what I asked, so here’s your reward. Perhaps there’s some promise in you yet, boy.” He then escorts you back through the long and winding hallways. Thankfully, you once again avoid bumping into Mary. Speaking of which, “By the way boy, Mary’s been in quite the mood the last couple of days. I don’t know what goes on in that girl’s head these days, but a bit of free advice: Try to avoid her till she cools down from whatever has her pissed off. Girl has the temper of a hellhound.” You opt against telling him what you know of that matter, and say goodbye. You really need to sleep.

The next day you decide to go train again with Noah, now that you have your own weapon to train with. “Back again boy?” The old Paladin says. “Very well, let’s not waste any time. Show me what you got!” The old man is a slave driver as he instructs you through drills. He constantly corrects your form, stance, strength, speed, stamina. Anything and everything he sees wrong, he makes sure to let you know about it. “You should be using a dagger, boy. How you expect to swing that hammer with those twigs you call arms, I haven’t the faintest idea.” “If you were any slower, boy, I’d think you were frozen in time.” “You must not be planning to impress any girls if that’s as long as you can hold out.” The training is long and hard, but despite the constant harsh criticism, you know his advice is good. Finally, the sun begins to set, and Noah decides that’s enough for today. “Boy, you’ve got about as much talent as a rock, but you have determination. And given the choice between a talented sloth and a determined rock, I’d take the rock any day.” Was he actually complimenting you? Almost as though he read your thoughts, he slaps you against the head. “Don’t read too much into it boy, you’re still useless.” With that the old paladin heads back into the Cathedral. With nothing else to do, you head back to your room before Mary finds you.

You’ve been neglecting your feathered friend lately, so now’s a good chance to spend some time with him. Taking him outside, the two of you just walk around the campus and take in the sights. A place this big, there’s always something new to see. Especially with people trying new experiments and causing all sorts of chaos and excitement.Such as the ruined Garden of the Gardening club, littered with scorch marks and shredded plants. Wonder what happened there. Oh well, not your concern. The rest of the walk is largely uneventful. When the sun starts to set, you decide you’ve been out long enough, and head back in.

Sword Projection is a powerful spell, but it takes a lot of work for it to get to strong levels. Which is why today you’re spending time training it. Using basic swords as a reference, you picture the image in your mind like a mold, and fill it with your mana. The image of the sword you have in your mind begins taking shape in your hand as your magic gives it form. When it’s done, you look to see a sword exactly like the one you pictured in your hand.

Wanting to see if there’s anything else she can teach you, you go back to Rachel to ask for her help. Along the way though a woman in black armor bumps into you, and sends you to the floor. Damn, that was like walking into a brick wall. “Hey…” you hear her say. “You don’t have anything to say?”Looking up at her, your heart freezes. She’s mad. “You carelessly bump into someone and you don’t even say sorry? THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!” She reaches down and grabs you by the collar, and with one hand, lifts you off the ground as if you weighed as much as a feather. “YOU SHOULD WATCH WHERE THE FUCK YOU’RE GOING! OR WERE YOU TRYING TO COP A FEEL? THAT IT VIRGIN BOY?! CAN’T GET A GIRL ON YOUR OWN SO YOU JUST ‘BUMP’ INTO THEM?! PATHETIC! BET A LIMP DICK PIECE OF SHIT LIKE YOU COULDN’T PLEASURE A WORM!” She suddenly pulls you close to her, her headgear slamming into your forehead. Fuck that hurts. She quiets down, “This is the closest you’re ever gonna get to a real girl, you beta shit, so enjoy the moment.” Following that statement, she buries her fist into your stomach and releases her hold on you, sending you sprawling across the floor. You can’t see it from your spot on the floor, but she grins ear from ear, “I bet you liked that, huh? I know I did. Look at the brightside, if you had any friends you could tell them you actually did something with a girl you both enjoyed!” She walks over you like trash, laughing the entire time until she is out of earshot. God what a bitch. You stomach hurts like all hell, and you gasp for breath. How you didn’t vomit everywhere is beyond you. You try standing, but your body refuses the command. Maybe you’ll just stay here for a while. This section of the floor feels pretty comfortable.

You go out to the training yard to workout, but when you get there you see ice and snow everywhere, with ice horses running around. A nearby security officer tells you the situation. Erring on the side of safety, you decide not to train for now.

With only one spell in your arsenal at the moment, you should train it up to be a strong one. Heading over to the practice yard, you cast Wrath of the Wendigo, and watch as a stampede of ice stallions are summoned forth… and then don’t disappear. Instead, they run around the practice yard causing having, and leaving trails of snow, ice, and cold wind behind them. It gets so bad that the yard is evacuated, as the area now looks like a winter storm is blowing through. You, unfortunately, get out later than everyone else as you were at the epicenter of it all. Underdressed for the frigid temperature, frostbite quickly sets in before you manage to get out. The staff are a bit busy, but they should be able to fix this mess up in about a week or so. In the meantime, the training yard is still open, but any who enter are at risk of freezing, or being attacked by the ice stallions.

Well that was a disaster. Luckily no one other than you got hurt, so that’s sort of good. Maybe you’ll just spend some time with real horses instead for a while. Perhaps find Dania and see if she’d be interested? You look around for her, but you can’t find her. You saw signs in the abandoned building that she’s been there recently, but it would appear you just missed her. That’s too bad, solo riding it is. Making your way to the farm, you grab the tackle, and saddle up a horse, and enter the corral. Once you saddle up though, the calm horse you walked out here changes in temper instantly. No longer calm, it’s mad and tries throwing you as hard as it can. You can’t see or hear from the constant motion and whiny of the horse, but the people on the farm are rushing your way, hollering for help. You hold on for as long as you can, but the horse is just too strong and eventually you lose your grip and are thrown from the saddle. Good thing the hard ground broke your fall, and your arm. Afraid the horse will come back to finish the job you quickly get up, but notice things quiet down from the horse. Risking a glance, you look back to it. It’s as calm as it was just before you got on him. One of the workers rushes over to you to check that you’re okay while another leads the horse back into the stables. When you ask what that was, he just tells you she’s always been temperamental about riders. She don’t mind being hitched up to a wagon, cart, or plow, but as soon as you get on top of her she just goes crazy. She earned the name “Mercy” from the hands cause God have mercy on anyone who tries to ride her. One of the hands escorts you to the infirmary, where nurse Olivia relocates your arm and puts it into a sling. She says it should be fine, but you should take it easy till it’s fully healed.

Yesterday was just...Wow. Rather bemused from the whole fiasco Adal simply lets the painkillers and healing spells wash over him into a stupor as he tries to plot what to do next. That was just not a great day all together, but since we're already at rock bottom ain't no where to go but up right? That or Adal had yet to tunnel out the bottom of the bedrock, though the aches of frostbite continue to plague Adal, he shifts in place trying to in a more comfortable position, if only there was a way to not have the spell backfire on him like that... Wait what if... what if he was able to channel the Wendigo internally? Try to use it as a enhancement to resist the cold? It could work right?

I think I'm ready to start working on my prototype. I think I have all the materials needed such as carbon and iron to create steel. With a few additions such as silver and gold plating to conduct magical energies. I think this could work.

These Ice Horses seems like a real problem. Sure, the faculty said they’d handle when they got the chance, but this might be a good chance to get in some real experience! But among them, you don’t see many actually looking to get into a fight. Well, fiddlesticks. The situation with Mary has left a bad taste in your mouth. Sure, you could wait till she calms down on her own and just forget about the whole thing, but you’d rather make amends. This seems to get to her, as she stops her approach. She just stands there a moment, before letting a long sigh. “I should apologize as well. I knew it was an accident, but I let my temper get away from me again. It causes me, and those around me at the time, no small amount of trouble. I’m sorry.” She sincerely asks for forgiveness. You accept, but tell her you understand, it was a very sudden and odd event. “Yes, but that’s still no excuse. I am a Sister of the Church, I should keep maintain my composure better as an example to others. The senior members constantly remind me to to keep my anger under control, but sometimes it just gets away from me.” She sounds a bit down. The incident yesterday and your current affliction with frostbite has shown you aren’t immune to the effects of your own spell. That’s not good. Looking to change this, you try channeling the cold magic inside yourself to resist the cold temperature created by Wrath of the Wendigo. If it works, you now have a cold resistance spell. If it doesn’t, you become a human popsicle. As you continue channeling, you feel the cold feeling grow, but you don’t feel any colder. When you finish channeling, you feel better insulated. Now, so long as the spell is in effect, cold won’t bother you as much, though a chunk of ice would still knock you out. Just remember it’s cold resistance, not immunity.

After getting tossed like you did by Mercy, you go against reason and pay her a visit. When you find her in her stall, she’s as calm as when you first saw her. You guess the farmhands were right, so long as you aren’t riding her she’s easy to get along with. Seeing as she isn’t trying to kill you, you offer her a carrot that she takes and brush her down. She looks very well taken care of, so the workers and students probably already done this today, but maybe it’ll help her get used to you. If she has any problems with what you’re doing she doesn’t express it, opting instead to just eat her carrot and let you brush her. Till you get to her hind quarters. She doesn’t like that, as she slaps you in the face with her tail. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s irritating as hell, so you back off. When you’re no longer around that area, she goes back to being calm. Huh, how odd.

Another job to cleanup someone else's mess? I'm starting to feel like a janitor. Oh well, a job's a job. And I need to rack up favors with Cornelius, cause there's no way I can get reservations to such a high end place at the last minute by myself. Breathing out evenly Adal lets the spells ettle over him feeling the icy wellspring of power flow through his body. Upon opening his eyes Adal would notice that the windows of his room appear to have frosted over as his breath fogs before him like a ghostly apparition. Letting [Frigid Defiance] go Adal shakes his body up as he lets the warmth flow through him. It was so strange to feel cold, yet unbothered by it. None the less it was a success! Feeling giddy from his first spell making attempt Adal makes way to visit Mercy the mare. Such a gentle thing, you wonder why she flips out when people ride her? Hrm, that maybe needing more investigation, or at the very least Adal would have a reason to hang around the farm, maybe some of the farm hands would know anything?

Brooke listens to you as you speak with her, the words seeming to give her resolve enough to push through the constricting magic that was holding her words captive. For a moment it feels like the alien magic was looking for an out, another way to keep living but your earnest sharing with Brooke left it with little purchase in your heart. After a moment’s time she throws her arms around you happy to have someone to share this part of her history with that hadn’t been family or the church.

“The magic’s backlash went into the children.” She starts again after breaking the hug. “The church assured us it was harmless, with the ritual disrupted it couldn’t fulfill its purpose.” She looks at towards the waves, slapping against the shore. “But that wasn’t completely true, when I’m in the water I can feel the pull of something sleeping, locked away someplace. Like I’m apart of some greater thing and I need to find my purpose in waking it up. Water magic has always been easy for me, and I think that ritual had something to do with it. Since I was young the ocean has called me, and I thought I had to answer that call one day.” The aqua haired woman smiles and turns back to you, relief evident on her face.

“That’s why I wanted to be here. I thought it was time to answer that call and I wanted you here with me. In case..in case the magic got the better of me I wanted you here beside me.” Brooke pulls out a scroll, tightly bound in heavy wrappings. “But you’re right, our parents don’t define us. They made their mistakes, but I don’t have to follow after them.” Her eyes take a resolved steel to them. “I need to take these to the church. I wasn’t the only child affected that night, and they might not be as lucky as I am to have someone like you. Maybe the can prevent someone else awakening whatever is calling to us with this.”

The frown on her face is a pretty solid give away that deciding to dance instead of potentially saving lives as soon as possible was probably not the way to go. Reluctantly she goes with you but the usual vibrancy that would be with her is gone and she seems distant and distracted. It makes for a pretty awkward dance, and people notice the stiffness in your dance partner. A few guys give you sympathetic pats as you pass them on the dance floor.

At first it looks like she might reject the offer, but it swiftly changes to a sort of fire in her eyes. One hand on the collar and a hard yank later, you’re in her bedroom. Several weeks of exam stress, followed by past tragedy stress and then a insensitive boyfriend all come out at once that night using sex as an outlet. As it turns out all that bubbly personality leads to a very dominate personality in the bedroom. It’s a wild night, the bed barely survives the ordeal, but by the end Brooke looks like she’s had a serious detox and is more relaxed then she’s been in weeks.

The next day the question of the scroll comes up and she let you know that she created the scroll herself. Attempting to reconstruct the ritual from memory and a few searches from both Madrid’s library and Amsterdam’s as well. Ritual magic while not forbidden from studies has fallen mostly out of favor by the newer students from all the work and preparation it takes to complete them. She happily informs you of all the books she tore through in her studies, while avoiding getting into detail about what she did to finish up the ritual.

With all that's been happening, it would be a good idea on working on the thesis you never gotten around to finishing. You spend a few hours of the day gathering and reading all the books you can find on healing magic. Considering, you’re pretty knowledgeable in this topic already it was getting harder to find books but in the end you find valuable data that can be used on the thesis. The books were spread out having info on how healing magic worked, applications and theories. You took all these down and fathered it into a compact area on how it affects the theory area of the healing. The original idea of healing magic was to speed up the regenerative process of the body. But in recent years, new techniques and possibilities were found. By the end of the week, You’ve finished! It was a lot of effort, you proudly pass it to the professor and he is impressed. The school is impressed with what you’ve been providing recently. Now a copy has been printed for both the Madrid and Amsterdam academy.

The professor started with an introduction and what fighting was all about. “All different combat techniques have their own specialty but there are certain fighting styles and techniques that have the same aspects. The last attempt was a failure, but maybe this time will be better? Hoping to see the horses together with Dania, you go off in search of her. One week… that’s not a lot of time, and she looks really strong. You could try thinking of a way out of this, or you could run away. Though she’d assuredly spend her free time hunting you down. It’s a big school, but she’d most likely find you eventually. There is always the option to just fight her, but she’s a second year and it’s almost assured that she’ll make short work of you, unless she chooses to drag it out. Anyway you look at it, you’re in for a bad time.

This is bad, this is really bad. Though the heavenly delight that tingles still in his palm Adal frets over the fact the family line will most likely end with him. No! Adal has to get a grip on himself if he wants to make amends! Though judging by the way some of the nearby shrubs caught on fire, it wouldn't hurt to get better at fighting so Adal would at least have a chance to explain before being run through...

With that in mind the young lad heads off towards the training- a pale pallor overcomes Adal as he remembered that he wrecked the place the last time he attempted to 'train'. Maybe instead a better idea would be to work on more passive magic since that seemed to have worked out a bit better than before. Not to mention Adal's sword play could use with a bit of polishing up as well.

>The time has come. I had to rush some preparations and burn a lot of Favors, but I believe everything is as good as I can get it. I pick up my suit and check with Cornelius to make sure he has gotten the table, and that I know exactly who's name it is under (it should be mine). Unfortunately I don't have a way to get there myself, so I'll have to slum it a bit and call a cab. Ask if it they can make sure it's clean, and I'll throw in some extra tip. Dressed and ready, it's time to go pick up Katherine. I steel my nerves. Hopefully I won't fuck this up. Should I have gotten flowers instead of the pen? I'm not moving too fast am I? Or would she like that? Dammit! Stop overthinking! It's too late to change anything. Just gotta roll with the punches. Taking a deep breath, I knock on her door and wait for her to answer. When we eventually reach La Patron, it is again time to be the gentleman I'm supposed to be. Stepping out first, I hold my hand out for hers, taking her hand and helping her out of the cab. Looking through the menu, I find the only ‘fancy’ dish I know: filet mignon. That’ll work. Ordering a Merlot, cause that’s the only wine I know, I wait for Katherine to give her order before starting a conversation. “We’ve spent a fair amount of time together, I’d say, and I really don’t know that much about you. Perhaps we could change that since it’s just us two now? No paperwork, no classes, no training, and no creatures to fight. Just you and me. But it’d be rude asking you about yourself without saying something about me first. At least I think it is? I’m really not good with these kinds of situations. All I really know is how to swing a sword.” I hope I’m not messing this up. “You probably already know a good deal about me just from my file, but I’ll start anyways. I come from a long line of Mageknights. Parents are mageknights, grandparents were mageknights, their parents were mageknights. So on and so forth. Even my 4 other siblings are training to be mageknights as well. So whether we wanted to be mageknights or not was never really a choice, it was just a matter of what style we prefered. Once I was old enough, I enrolled to the Madrid Academy, and chose the way of the Ultra Greatsword. My great great grandfather used it, and was pretty good with it. The stories of his adventures were my favorite, so I had always wanted to follow in his style. Anyways, after getting into the Academy, I spent my time training and studying. I was in school to get stronger, I didn’t really see a reason to spend time talking to people. Then one day the school announces a summer trip to the beach. I figured ‘I could use some rest.’ and signed up. So, I went. Started off normal enough, till this pillar of fire just erupts from the ocean, and this group of Fire Elementals and a Pit Fiend appear. I’ll be honest here, what follows next was stupid and embarrassing. Thinking I was hot stuff, I tried fighting the Pit Fiend alone.

It… went about as well as you can expect a first year fighting a pit fiend alone would go. In the first round, he cleaved my legs right off, and tossed me into the ocean. With dinner and our conversation done, it’s probably about time to head back. Paying for our meals, we make our way out of La Patron, and flag down a cab. After assisting her in, and getting seated myself, tell her what a nice night I had. “It’s nice to just go out once in a while and just relax, forget about training and fighting. Last time I tried relaxing, aside from our trip to the hotsprings, I spent a few days in the hospital.” Arriving back at the Academy, I assist Katherine out of the cab, taking her hand in mine. It feels nice. Paying the cabbie, I know feel broke as hell. But is was worth if Katherine enjoyed herself. Walking arm in arm with her back to her room, this just feels right. On the way, I don’t say anything, just enjoying the moment. And trying to keep from saying something stupid on the home stretch of the date. Finally arriving at her door, “I had a wonderful time with you tonight, we should do it again sometime.” Reaching into my pocket, I pull out the Pen and hand it to her. “Also, I got you this. I was told it was an antique. The shop also said it was enchanted to write whatever you were thinking on it’s own, so I don’t know if that’d be helpful or not. I don’t know if an antique pen is a good Valentine’s day gift or not, but I hope you like it.” If she has nothing else to say, or after she finishes, it’s time to go for it. You ask her how her exams went and she says she passed all three with flying colors. You then ask her if she wants to grab some coffee, and have one last walk around campus. She accepts, and the two of you get up and wander around campus just talking to each other. Time flies when you are having fun and neither of you notice that the sun is setting. You walk her to your dorm, and say your last goodbyes.

Having resistance to the cold is nice, but maybe you could alter it to help defend against physical attacks? Like some kind of ice skin or something? You try that, focusing on the cold to harden around you and protect you, but all you feel is that inner cool that helps ward off the biting cold. Well, that didn’t work. Maybe try using Wrath of the Wendigo? What’s the worst that could happen? Aside from Ice Horses running amok, that is. Throwing caution to the wind, you try thinking of ways to have the offensive spell work defensively, but nothing comes to you aside from just having the horses kill whatever is trying to hurt you faster. Best Defense is a good Offense, right?

Training alone in the woods. What’s the worst that could happen? Aside from hurting yourself where no one can find you and help you, that is. But it also means not running into that angry woman. Having to choose between possibly hurting yourself way out here, and her definitely hurting you back there, you feel you made the right call. Long sword in hand, you practice wailing on some trees. If it comes down to a fight with that woman, you want as much chance at victory as you can get. After a while, your hands are numb from hitting the trees, so you take that as a cue to call it a day.

The Spirit Gun is a powerful weapon, but you just don’t have the energy to keep up with it. Maybe it’s time to work on that. Trying to use roughly the same principles as your Inner Light, you try increasing your Spirit reserves. After a while you don’t feel any stronger. Either you’re doing something wrong, or your Inner Light training doesn’t really help in increasing your Spirit.

After the unsuccessful attempt of last time, you try again. Searching and reaching deep within yourself, you find something new. Something different, yet familiar. You get the same feeling as when you fire your Spirit Gun. This must be your Spirit. It feels small, and weak. Not surprising, you didn’t even really know you had this till recently. Wrapping ‘yourself’ around it, you sort of ‘encourage’ its growth. It’s a difficult thing to describe. Such a strange, new thing. As you cultivate your Spirit, you feel it swell up, as it grows more from the attention. Eventually though you get tired, and your Spirit feels exhausted. Pulling out from your meditation, you take some deep breaths and relax, too tired for much else right now.

Heading once more to the shooting range for classes, the instructor this time around is giving one on one advice. Having each student come up and show their form, he corrects each problem he sees. When it’s your turn, he points out your flaws in your breathing and stance, shadowing your form, he shows you how to hold the gun and correct your stance. It feels a little awkward having someone so close to you, but his advice is spot on as you feel a noticeable increase in your accuracy.

After the class, everyone goes on to do other things, the teacher included. But not you. You want to get even better. Sticking around for some self study, you use the advice the instructor gave you to improve your accuracy and work on it. Checking your target, you feel pretty good about it. They aren’t all bullseyes, but the grouping and placement is pretty tight, so you’re at least precise. “Wow! Did you see that!” “Yeah! She hit dead center every time!” The sound of voices grabbing your attention, you look across the range to the long-range area, and see a group watching someone shoot. Curiosity getting the better of you, you go to watch. If they’re good, maybe you can learn a thing or two from watching? Finding a spot in the crowd, you see a girl prone on the ground aiming at a target a good 1000m. Damn. An instructor holds a hand up, and everyone goes quiet. She takes a breath, and slowly releases it. At the end of the exhale, she squeezes the trigger. *BANG* Everyone waits for a few seconds after the shot, looking to the spotter for the result. “Dead Center.” The group erupts, “That’s 10/10, she’s amazing!” The instructor helps the girl up. If she cares at all for the attention, she doesn’t show it. The instructor congratulates her, “Damn fine shooting Carol. Keep that up, and you’ll have little trouble at the tournament.” “Thank you, sir. I wouldn’t have gotten this far without your tutelage.” The instructor waves her off, “Girl, I haven’t seen anyone with as much talent as you before. I doubt I had much to do with, but I’ll take a compliment when it’s given, HAHA! Anyways girl, go rest up, you did good out here today.” “I will do that, sir. Thank you.” Walking off the range, her skill aside, there is one thing you can say for certain about the girl: That’s a big hat.

Today you are the man with the plan. Checking in with Cornelius he informs you that even though it was rather hard to get a table at such a high end place at the last minute, he has pulled through. Now all you need is way to pick up your date and get there. Calling the cab company to get a ride seems like the only thing you can do, and you ask them if they can bring a car that isn’t totally covered in shit. Next you walk over to Katherine’s dorm in the faculty section. The walk feels like an eternity as you worry about what you should do and what you should say to her. You finally get there and stand in front of her door, nerves are high as you knock three times. Inside you hear her voice, “Oh is that you Gram, i’ll be out in a sec, i’m still getting ready.” After a moment of waiting, the door opens and out steps Katherine in a beautiful, and somewhat sexy dress. “So how do I look.” she asks. You also talk about how you’ve been assisting Cornelius with odd jobs here and there, and keeping the campus safe, like how you totally destroyed a bunch of man eating flowers.

Being the gent you are, you get out first and take Katherine by the hand, helping her out of the cab. You then pay the cabbie, and tell him to stick around so he can take the you and your date back to the academy after you eat. Both of you walk inside the restaurant, and boy, this is class. The two of you are lead to a table and you pull out Katherine's chair for her to sit down, then you go to sit across from her. The waitress hands you the fanciest menu you’ve ever seen, and asks you want you would like to order. You tell her you’ll have a glass of Merlot and that you would like the Filet Mignon, Katherine says she will have a glass of Anjou french wine along with the steak tartare. The waitress writes down your orders and walks away, now is the time to really get the conversations going and you start it off. “We’ve spent a fair amount of time together, I’d say, and I really don’t know that much about you. Perhaps we could change that since it’s just us two now? No paperwork, no classes, no training, and no creatures to fight. Just you and me. But it’d be rude asking you about yourself without saying something about me first. At least I think it is? I’m really not good with these kinds of situations. All I really know is how to swing a sword.” Katherine sits and patiently listens to you as you explain about your family, and the time you fought the Pit Fiend.

Realizing you’ve been dominating the conversation, you ask her what her interests are and if she has any stories she’d like to tell. “Well, I have gone on quite a few adventures myself. In my younger days, I used to be a high ranking official in the Mage Knight army. I commanded a team of equally skilled individuals to do the most dangerous of assignments. We we’re all close friends, in fact that’s where I met Cornelius, and ever since then we have been the best of friends. It was a long and arduous process, but I worked my way up to becoming the principal of this school. The reason I work so hard is because I love all of my students, and I want only the best for them, and even though it is hard on me, I love my job.” She explains. “Also, don’t tell anyone this, but I like to collect old coins. I have quite the collection of rare valuable gold doubloons, as well as many other rare pieces.” She says with a smile. After your conversations the meals arrive, and damn, this is the tastiest fucking steak you’ve ever had. Katherine says she can help you with money, but you insist that you pay for it all. Once you are done paying the bill, you wonder how you’re gonna survive with instant noodles as your diet for the next three months.

You don’t know how much this will help me out with writing up all those stacks of papers. Hours of writing ‘Approved by the Principle of Mage Knight Academy, Katherine Santez’ makes my hand feel like it will fall off.” she says with a grin. Well things are coming to an end, now it’s either do or die. Staring into Katherine's brilliant blue eyes, you say your line and go in for the kiss. At first she was surprised by the action, but then she goes into it you kiss with passion. The two of stand there for a minute or so lip locked, until she pulls away. Her face is all blush as she says thank you and enters her front door. Damn, you just kissed the principle, and she liked it!

After making your arms tired from the constant sword practice the only thing left to do is continue training! At least the pain from it will cause you to become numb to it right? In regards to the spell making portion of your arsenal you need to take a stand and make this spell work! No matter the result! Going back out into the woods you ready your longsword and chant the phrase "Nen a gwilith heed i peth -o rod plural rodyn, dui, nor- dad nin coth!" Bracing yourself for the on coming stampede.

Relief is visible on Brooke’s face at the suggestion to finally be done with all this, and she happily takes to you the local church. Thankfully this is a major city with a large tourist pull, so the church has a larger organization here then in a lot of other places. Unluckily this means there’s paladin’s on hand to deal with situations like this, very swiftly you and Brooke are separated and questioned at a grueling rate. After it becomes apparent you really have no other information to give them, they take you back to a waiting room while Brooke is still off in questioning. Before you leave the paladin who questions you leaves you with a parting bit of advice about being mindful around dark magics such as these. They tend to hold onto those they get their claws on.
It takes a few more hours before she emerges, a new pendant of the church around her neck and a wide smile on her face. Peace looks pretty nice on her. The trip back to the house to gather your things, and the trip back to school is pretty uneventful, but there’s a new air of of clarity around Brooke. She hasn’t gone completely church girl, but there is a renewed faith in her and she thanks you profusely about helping her get there.

After that last fiasco, it’s time to try training your main spell again. You know what they say about getting back on the horse. Pun absolutely intended. Hoping to better control the herd, you cast the spell. It seems you’re a bit rusty, as the cold winds blow, only a single horse comes forth. That’s the good news. The bad news is you have just as much control over this one as you did the herd. The lone horse stampedes around the area. Without the aid of a herd, the lone pony can’t keep its surroundings cool enough and begins suffering from the heat. In pain, it violently runs off, looking for relief from the heat. Luckily it didn’t see you, or at least didn’t care enough to attack you, prioritizing finding somewhere cool. Unfortunately, it headed off in the direction of the academy, so chances are it’ll cause some chaos. With the temperature rising, you’d guess it’d probably only last about a week without shelter, or perish sooner if someone intercepts it.

Safe from the rampaging horse, you decide it might be a good idea to train. Your fight with that angry girl is coming up, and even though it’s very unlikely you’ll win, you’ll want as much chance for victory as you can get. Find a sturdy looking tree, you begin taking practice swings at it. It doesn’t put up much fight, you know, cause it’s a tree, but it sure can take a hit. If only that woman would just stand there like this. Then again, it’d probably end the same, as you are forced to stop as your hand begins forming blisters, and the tree showing no signs of any real damage. Well, at least you feel stronger with your weapon. Hopefully it helps you out in the upcoming duel.

Calling out to her, she stops a kick a hair away from the next dummy’s head. Wow, that’s some control. You walk over and say hey. Seeing how good she is, you ask if she could show you a thing or two. She says sure, though her specialty is with her legs, so you’ll have to find another tutor for using your arms. She doesn’t say much, other than how to properly throw kicks, and correcting you on your mistakes. Guess she isn’t one for idle conversation. She eventually says that enough, and not a moment too soon, you’re dead on your feet. Or maybe you’re alive on your dead feet? Either way, you’re tired. She says you did good, showed a lot of progress. Not saying anything else, she goes back to her own training. She was training with you, before you showed up, and she’s still going? That’s some stamina she’s got. As for you, you’re just gonna find a nice hot bath, and maybe soak in it for an hour.

There are some topic you don’t know yet, like her parents and her past but by the end of the long conversation about your girlfriend, Mother is impressed and more approving of Helia. Whether she is completely okay with her? You don’t know yet.

It was all in the blood. Eugenics was the main philosophy of the clan. Now in modern times, some of the sub clans have disagreed and changed and separated because of it. It's also why you’re father is so disapproving of your girlfriend.” She goes on once again and talks about your father’s stubbornness. She goes on and eventually tells you that “I have mentioned right? He might be coming her earlier and will in maybe 2 weeks. Uhuhuhuh, me and my forgetfulness”.

Elemental Planes make up the majority of the known planes, inhabited by as the name implies, Elementals. Some have shown to be friendly, or at least not outrightly hostile, towards travelers. However, some planes are so dangerous both by their very nature and the nature of the inhabitants, that special wards are placed around them, so no one accidentally or intentionally summons something from one of those planes, or ends up there.

After you are done with your homework, you decide that it's time to spend some time with your imouto. You haven’t talked or spend a lot of time alone with her since you came to the Academy and you miss her. You meet in a café near the Amstel river and you start talking a little bit about the good old times at home. You decide to catch up a little about each other lives and what they have been doing. You learn about how she’s been doing good in school and started to practice with a bow. And you tell her about your experience in the Academy and what you have learned. You even show her a little of magic. When the conversation dies out after a few hours, you drop the bomb and ask her about Helia. She smiles and gives an approving nod. “She’s really cute and I really like her.” Her words took a huge weight off your shoulders and you feel quite relaxed now. “But she’s too cute for you, you onion!”

She starts bullying and teasing you on the way back to the hotel, but now you are sure she approves Helia.

Momma didn’t raise no weaklings or slackers, so it’s time to get off your ass and back to training. Sword in hand, you head to the recently cleared up training field, and begin getting into the swing of things.Landing blow after blow on the practice dummy, the sword feels more comfortable in your hand, as you grow more accustomed to the weight and how it affects your swings and reaction time. You make short work of the practice dummy, since it is just a dummy, giving it one last strong swing and digging your blade into its body. Figuring you’ve worn yourself out enough for one day, you pull the blade out and watch the auto-repair magic fix the dummy good as new. Leaving the field, covered in sweat, it’s time to hit the shower.

Sword Projection is a powerful spell. But like everything strong, it’s costly. Particularly on your Mana Reserves. No matter how strong a weapon you summon, it does little good if you can’t maintain it long enough during a fight. Sort of like sex. And just like Stamina, the best way to raise it is to wear yourself out using it. Just casting spells and pushing yourself to your limits, you begin to feel the affects of mana exhaustion, but you keep going. No pain, no gain. You don’t stop at your limits, but push beyond it. By all rights you should’ve have enough mana left to cast anything, but you do. You even feel you physical Stamina depleting. Tired in virtually every way a human being can be, you finally run out of juice and just pass out. You come to some time later, feeling sore, but energized. It feels as though you could cast magic forever while running a marathon. Ok, that’s a stretch, but you definitely feel like you have more energy, both magical and physical, than you did before.

Oh, it seems it was just gas.

You take him out for a stroll around the campus again, this time heading out towards the farm. Checking out the various animals and crops, Choco seems to be focused on the corn fields. Hungrily. He makes a mad dash for the field, and begins devouring it. It takes you and several of the members of the agriculture farm to pull him out, mostly by enticing him with freshly picked corn. Once they’ve gotten him out of sight of the field, the drop the corn which he greedily devours. Luck favors you, as the farmers don’t seem upset about the situation, mostly since the bulk of the corn is used as feed for the animals anyways. They just ask you make sure he doesn’t sneak in and devour the crop. Putting some distance between Choco and the cornfields, you head over to check on the animals. Hopefully he can behave himself this time. He takes a passing glance at most of the animals, not giving them much attention, but his head stops on the emus. Probably cause they look at least somewhat similar, Choco goes over to investigate, and you follow after him. The emus wearily watch his approach, but as he gets closer, they start backing away, then running. Choco tries running after them, which only causes the to flee faster. He could easily catch them with his speed, but that’s not what he wants, and it’s abundantly clear they don’t want anything to do with him. Dejected, he walks away from the emu pen, ignoring everything along the way, and starts heading back to your room. Poor guy. Making a quick stop by the cornfields to grab a handful of corn, you catch up with Choco already more than half way home. Even if he is slowly walking back, his stride is still fairly long. Offering him an ear, he half heartedly takes it. Fuck emu, man. With not much else to do, you head on home to watch some tv.

After writing that letter, you head outside to go slip it under remi’s door. For some reason it is super windy today, and you try your hardest to not get blown over. One particularly strong gust blows the letter out of your hand into the air. You chase after it, but the wind blows it so high into the air that you can’t reach it. Soon you can’t even see it anymore and you walk back to your dorm saddened by the loss of your letter.

Knowing you’re going go back to Madrid soon, you want the Amsterdam Clinic to be in even better shape than when you saw it for the first time several months ago. You get to work mopping the floors, restocking the bandages, folding the blankets, and removing the toughest mold in the corners. The next day while you were organizing patient files, Olivia walks in and gasps at how clean the clinic is. She thanks you for such a great job on making the clinic sparkle, and the both of you sit there talking about your time in Amsterdam. She tells you even though you messed up here and there, she is glad she got to know you in the short time you were here.

Remi helps you pack your things as you prepare for your trip back to Madrid. Suddenly it is broken by his soft voice. “Markus, I’m sorry. I can’t go with you to Madrid. I am going to get married to Maddy in three days, so I have to stay here. I hope you can understand. You have been a great friend, and i’m happy I got to spend so much time with you, but this is the way things have to be.” Remi says with a solemn face. You both finish packing your stuff, and you thank Remi for his help as he leaves your room. You are rather sad after hearing that news, so you lie on your bed asking yourself one simple question. Where did it all go wrong.
