Last time one MSGQuest:

> ███████ dilated the Empowered Mortal’s perception of time so as to give itself the millennia’s of time required to fully transcribe its understanding of the Counterpoint into the Empowered Mortal’s mind. Unfortunately the strain of this process drove the Empowered Mortal insane...

> ███████ invoked the Command of Finality in a second attempt to scour the Malignancy from creation. On this occasion, the Malignancy, despite perfectly anticipating ███████’s actions, failed to escape, or otherwise survive, the Command of Finality...

> ███████ created a psychic construct designed to help the Empowered Mortal piece together its ravaged psyche...
███████ set about creating a new, fertile landscape to replace the Steppes and Forests lost while combating the Malignancy...

> ███████ created a dynamic weather and climate system for the Mortal realm. One which was as fine-tuned towards the development of plant-life as could be without simultaneously endangering sapient beings...

> The Empowered Mortal, wracked by madness, released the seals keeping the Counterpoint dormant and contained. The Spear-Wielding Mortal was maimed in the process...

> ███████ created a handful of mortals out of the muddy soil of the newly created Fertile Plains. These Mortals were inherently predisposed towards agriculture, horticulture, and botany...

...

In this game each player takes on the role of a fragment of a deity's consciousness. You have omnipotence, and may create, influence, or destroy anything you desire...

if not

How to play: First, submit a command. Keep in mind that you may only execute a single action per command. Commands will be enacted based on how many other Anons in the thread support it. If there is a tie I will roll a die to determine which command will be chosen.

Once I have selected a command, I will dedicate the few measly modicums of artistic talent I possess to representing the content of that command in the world you Anons have created. This process could take ten minutes, or in excess of one and a half hours. After I finish and post an image, I will wait for 60 minutes for new commands...

Recent events:

> It is storming. It is temperate. It is moderately humid...

> The Empowered Mortal has become the Counterpoint Incarnate...

> The Mortal Plane has been caught in the Counterpoint's pull. The Mortal Plane has been partially drained by the Counterpoint. Part of the Mortal plane has been reduced to lifeless stone...

> The Counterpoint Incarnate rolled a 1 on its {Lunatic} roll. The Counterpoint Incarnate hangs its head and ~Broods~ quietly...

> The Counterpoint Incarnate has failed a Therapy check...

> The Spear-Wielding Mortal hurtles through the air...

> The Steppe-Dwellers Encounter the New mortals...

> In the wake of the storm, the wolf pack concludes their hunt and returns to their den...

I third them guys. Ferrility it is
>>
>>1313985

There are three Steppe-Dwellers in existence.

The others were either caught in a Command of Finality, or consumed by the Malignancy before you nuked it, and by proxy them, with a Command of Finality...

...

Just a reminder:

If something is destroyed by a Command of Finality every instance of that thing is scrubbed from time, space, and all measures of reality. This means that you can't use the time-travel shenanigans that are baked into the Afterlife you guys set up to bring creatures killed by a Command of Finality back, because there is no longer a point in time during which they actually existed. Don't think too hard about it, it's essentially just a hard delete...

This isn't particularly significant for generic things like the Steppes, or the Forests, that were lost while trying to kill the Malignancy. You can always just spend a command to make new versions of these things, and you'd likely never know the difference. The Command of Finality is only a problem when you destroy something that has a lot of information or history. For instance, losing a Sapient that has experienced a bunch of stuff, or a object that major systems in the world rely on to continue working, would be quite irritating, and possibly could require numerous commands before an adequate replacement has been made...

I'm not sure if the previous threads were archived or not, and I only skimmed some of the threads when you first started the quest, so I'm not too sure how much info I'm missing here.
That said, thanks for keeping the quest alive from roughly when I first started lurking on /qst/ and keeping up the quality content and drawfagging despite the lack of players! I'm surprised you were willing to stick around for so long instead of flaking out on us, and keep up some relatively decent post speeds.

Mhm...

When I first stumbled upon /qst/ my favorite kind of quest were CivQuests. However, despite being created constantly, I have only come across maybe 2 or 3 which last longer than one session. With the rest either being dropped by their OP within the first couple updates, or most predominately, being abandoned immediately after Anons select a race and setting...

Seeing that kind of mercurial, non-committal attitude in OPs bothers me immensely, so I endeavor to disassociate myself from that archetype(?) as much as possible...

Nice name, I can support this.

>Teach Lysander the dos and don'ts of being a god based on our experience of being a Shattered God who accidentally empowered a mushroom into a Malignancy.
We should make sure Lysander doesn’t repeat father’s mistakes and risk the entire planet again, plus we should spend some quality family time bonding with her.
>>
>>1328643
Thanks for the session, QM. Now I wonder what those 4 orbs floating around Lysander were.

How long does it take for you to make a post? You mentioned you were content with maintaining a rate of one or two posts a day a thread or two ago.
If you feel it takes too long or is too draining to make a post, have you considered switching to a sketch style instead to help improve post rates and reduce QM fatigue?
>>
>>1331936

> "How long does it take for you to make a post?"

Updates involving panels usually take about 3-4 hours to complete, with additional time added on top of, or subtracted from, that for increased/reduced complexity and increased/reduced quantity of panels...

...

"If you feel it takes too long or is too draining to make a post ..."

Not really. I'd be content to progress the Quest at this rate of output once per day, everyday, ideally I would improve over time gradually producing more and more content per session. However, real life gets in the way of that, causing me to be unavailable to update on some days...

When there is a scheduling conflict involving MSGQuest I will always post a notification on the Quest's Discord prior to the session informing you Anons of my unavailability...

...

> "... have you considered switching to a sketch style instead to help improve post rates and reduce QM fatigue?"

I have, but I decided against it, for a several reasons...

For one, my autism would probably flip the fuck out if I were to change aesthetic styles halfway through the Quest...

Secondly, I made this quest as entertainment for you Anons of course, but also as a drawing exercise for me. I explicitly started this as a means for me to improve my drawing speed, to improve my general skill at drawing, and to learn how to use Gimp. I can confidently say that I have made progress on one of those goals. Regardless, I don't feel simplifying my content would be conducive to progressing these goals...

Finally, it is hard to 'sketch' with a mouse and keyboard, or at least it is for me personally...

Thanks for the session, QM. A bit of a shame each session only lasts one update, but you can't rush art.

>>1342288
Nice ASCII art, m8. I don't really know what was included in the ASCII on the top-right corner, but I'm guessing it's either coding for the system or the format for how prayers are sent to the messaging system.

>Updates involving panels usually take about 3-4 hours to complete, with additional time added on top of, or subtracted from, that for increased/reduced complexity and increased/reduced quantity of panels...
>3-4 hours to complete
Damn, son. That's MUCH longer than I would've expected. I figured it'd take an hour at most rather than approaching professional levels of effort. That's probably on the record of one the highest amounts of time for a QM to spend per update on /qst/. I don't think I've seen any other quest take to require that much dedication to run.

>>1334710
>Not really. I'd be content to progress the Quest at this rate of output once per day, everyday, ideally I would improve over time gradually producing more and more content per session. However, real life gets in the way of that, causing me to be unavailable to update on some days...
Well, that's a relief. With the way you were making out your ability to have at most one or two updates a day, and the circumstances of this quest, I was worried you might be burning yourself out here.

>>1334710
>When there is a scheduling conflict involving MSGQuest I will always post a notification on the Quest's Discord prior to the session informing you Anons of my unavailability...
That's helpful, thanks QM.

>>1334710
>For one, my autism would probably flip the fuck out if I were to change aesthetic styles halfway through the Quest...
I feel you, bro.
>>1334710
>Secondly, I made this quest as entertainment for you Anons of course, but also as a drawing exercise for me. I explicitly started this as a means for me to improve my drawing speed, to improve my general skill at drawing, and to learn how to use Gimp. I can confidently say that I have made progress on one of those goals. Regardless, I don't feel simplifying my content would be conducive to progressing these goals...
That's fine. So long as you're fine with how you're handling things, I don't see a problem with the situation. Glad to know you're making some real progress in your goals.

>>Finally, it is hard to 'sketch' with a mouse and keyboard, or at least it is for me personally...
>>mouse and keyboard
>drawing with a mouse and keyboard
Well, that explains a lot. I figured you were using a drawing tablet for all of these updates. This is some damn good work if this is the sort of handicap you’ve been working with the entire time.
