New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

Normally this coloration or aspect would disperse harmlessly away in the huge torrent of any ley-line. Happiness, Hate, Love, all gets washed in the mix. However if you have repeated coloration of a flow of Mana overtime it'll retain that coloration long after the event is over. Especially if you prevent that ley-line from dispersing it's Mana naturally, which is what this pipeline is doing."

"I suspect that there is a point along this pipeline that is exposed. And I suspect that the mage student population there is coloring this mana. Something as simple as the longing of a heavy crush is being spilled into this pipeline and being retained long after it should."

You go on a damn good jog around the campus in the early morning. You really are glad you worked this into your daily schedule, even if you had been a bit busy to jog over the past couple of days, what with the birthday party and talking to the nurse and whatnot. Your breath puffs in the early morning air, and you continue to jog. At times, you would feel like you’re being watched, but whenever you looked around, no one would be there. It was probably just your imagination. You look toward the sun as it begins to rise. Dawns really were pretty, huh, with its myriad of soft colors and a growing lightness in the air, pushing away the murkiness of the night. With your vampirism, you hadn’t been able to see the sun for a while without getting horribly burnt. You’re almost glad that it wasn’t in effect now- you wouldn’t have been able to see this beautiful dawn, if it were.

The Professor of Blood Magic almost seems to expect you regarding you with a cold gaze. You can positively feel the chilling analytical stare into your very soul. When he speaks he doesn't address you directly instead remarking on your condition. He's aware of your accomplishments but does not dwell on them. Instead asking probing questions on just how you became afflicted with this vampiric condition. Already he seems to be sizing your potential whether for success or failure… who knows? He hints that he can help you sustain yourself, but the cost maybe too much for a Sophomore Mageknight.

It seems that there's a deficit of any actual functioning bows for sell within this township. There are highly ceremonial hunting bows. The limbs are fragile and the strings are frayed. But they look awfully nice. The various venders say that the Woodsman that crafted the finest hunting bows has retired for the season, in his own cottage further in the wilderness. They gave you vague directions towards his cottage, but they warn you that he is a rather reclusive sort.

After a bit of looking you find the symbol that matches the one on your hand and learn that it’s pronounced as shuboth, which translates to ‘beast’ in English. The description of the symbol Is in a strange language but you manage to make out some of the words. “Those who have this mark have a ullamargor with a terrible power that lies dormant unless you arkzoror it with a othlor zorragwa.”

You go back out the next day to train. Training two days in a row might have been a mistake, as your body still aches from yesterday’s training. You have difficulty swinging your sword probably, and constantly miss your mark. It’s infuriating. You’ve been training for so long you shouldn’t be having these problems. Your anger just grows and grows as you pretty much stop practicing and just start beating the dummy to vent your irritation. *crunch* ‘Crunch?’ You turn around to see someone watching you throw your tantrum. She just stares at you while eating, “You suck.” She says matter of factly before taking your weapon from you, and with one hand, cleaves the dummy in two with little effort. Dropping your sword to the ground, she turns around and walks away, saying nothing else. Your anger fades, and all you're left with is a feeling of inadequacy. Maybe you do suck?

Seeing that their primary source of sustenance is mana itself you toiled inside your dorm for a way to somehow modify their physiology in a drastic way so that their bodies are able to absorb regular mana into their system. You discovered that the process will be harder than you have initially thought as the mana dependency is deeply ingrained into their very physiology itself to be just removed by a mere spell. You took some tissue samples and a fertile plant woman seed to your dorm in an attempt to study its properties and makeup. You discovered that their skin absorbs pink mana and convert them into biological energy which allows them to rapidly process sunlight, water and minerals from the soil into plant cells and make those cell multiply rapidly. This process produces a byproduct which spreads into their system which is the root cause of their intensified libido. It has been the case with them for generations that their biology has evolved to become extremely physiologically dependant on pink mana. Upon filtering out and removing the byproduct from the tissue sample it immediately shrivelled and died within a seconds. If prolonged generational exposure has made them like this perhaps you can breed this dependency away. Perhaps even making breed a plant woman that does not rely exclusively on pink mana. You concocted a long term plan; You will feed each generation more and more diluted doses of pink mana until you’re practically feeding the newer generations with pure mana. You began experimenting on the seed. You transfer your mana reserves into it make it grow faster. You notice that the arcane energies that are seeping out of you is pink. Oh no. As the seed germinates and grow into a sapling it takes on a pink hue. It now has a similar appearance to the “enhanced plant women” back at the oasis. Dammit, what a waste of material. Perhaps fiasco this could be salvaged. You could use this one as a biological “Eve” for all of your future seedling experiments. Though that would mean that the breeding process will take a lot longer since this one’s pink mana dependency is a lot more stronger than that of an original plant woman. Meaning that breeding the pink mana dependency out of the lineage would take a lot longer. Not to mention the amplified danger of keeping one inside your dorm. Looks like you’ll have to procure another seed (preferably an original strain) and more viable samples if you’re going with this plan. In the meantime, you will have to deal with this sapling that you’ve just grown and a way to procure pure mana since, as you’ve discovered, your body’s mana reserves has been tainted by the pond somehow.

Browsing various mana books in the library, you discovered that there is in fact a myriad of different mana types that has been discovered throughout the years by various Manaologists from all across the globe. You found out the mana itself is highly malleable type of energy and can take multiple states depending on the environmental conditions. One particular type of mana is the mana that emits a pink glow. The “Aphrodisiac” as some refer to it. Research through its properties have revealed that this type of mana influences lust, passion, charm and pleasure. As with all different kinds of mana, it produces different effects compared to pure mana. Fireballs take on a pink tint, earth spells take on sensual shapes and air and water magic gain aphrodisiac properties and other myriads of effects. Pink mana also enhances one’s charm spells. Aside from that it also the energy that feeds and empowers lust entities like the well known incubus and succubus. Other beings like the sirens, nymph, nixies, lidercs, nymphs and many others also rely upon this energy. Other times witches, alchemists and other arcanists use this energy as a vital ingredient for the fabled “love potion”. Love potions made from this mana type is said to be the strongest of all aphrodisiacs. Too strong in some documented accounts. At times pure mana changes into its pink form whenever there is enough sexual energy radiating from the environment. Ley lines could sometimes become tainted with potent sexual energy turning into them into reservoir of pink mana. Usually such phenomenon happens when places of high frequencies of sexual activity, such as a brothel or a love hotel, happen to be constructed right under a ley line. Such occurrences are rare in later eras as of today’s conservative cultural norms have reduced the chance of this ever happening. With the advent of effective contraceptives boosted sexual freedom causing a noticeable spike in incidents starting from somewhere near the 1970s and onwards. Some manaologists have constructed mana siphons near ley lines to prevent such occurrences from escalating to societally disruptive degrees. Unfortunately this system is experimental in nature as at times the mana pipes leak and the machines themselves fail from either neglect or wear and tear. In worst case scenarios these machines overload and explode, releasing concentrated amounts pink mana into the area such as the infamous “Pink Mist Orgy” incident that occurred in Akihabara District of Tokyo, Japan in the 1990s. Today mages and scientists are still researching of better and more efficient ways of purifying mana. Some more successful on their endeavours than others

You come out of your meditation hours later, your mind feeling clear and focused.

You can’t help but remember your own experiences with the music club. It seems like the Dragons will hold a concert in a small bar in town in a little while. You find a flyer describing the location. You then leave the place, feeling good about the practice you got in.

Happened to me as well in my freshman years.” You asked him if there is still time for you and him for a spar. “Really? Are you sure you want to challenge a black belt this early in your training?” You reassured him that you are intent on challenging him in a sparring match. “Alright. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.” As expected you lost to him. He grappled you and took you down even before you could raise your fist. “You alright down there?” Gurion extended his hand to you. You grabbed it and pulled back up to your feet. “You’ve certainly improved but you still have a lot to learn, apprentice. Here, I’ll teach you a thing or two.” He thought you Krav Maga some more though he had to leave early due to his schedules.

You try to find Valerie, to go get some drinks again, but you can’t seem to find her anywhere. You notice a note on the counter, from Valerie. Huh, so she was going to be pretty busy for the next day or so. The note was fairly vague, but she mentions some sort of test that she was taking.

And so you did. You planted the seed on a cute little potted plant, watered it then placed it on the desk near the window so that it can have some sunlight. Afterwards you left your dorm to do other things. Later that evening you return to your dorm. “Hey there, Draggy. Welcome back. Is that your plant over there? Looks pretty neat.” You are perplexed as you distinctly just planted the seed just this morning. Looking back and indeed there is a little sapling growing on the pot. It’s glowing blue in the moonlight. Odd... but pretty.

You looked into various books. There are indeed plenty of myths and legends about humanoid plants but there are none that match the description of the plant women that you saw at the pond. The closest thing that you could find is that of a race of fey. Common folks often refer to them as “Gardener Feys”. Caretakers of nature. They are about the size of an adult human palm and fly around with their beautiful wings. They are often seen adorned with clothing made out of various plant and flowers. You’ve seen these feys before in the fey wilderness, watering plants. But they look nothing like the ones you saw at the pond. The plant women were as tall as a human being and with bodies made entirely of plant matter. Instead of gardening they play around and capture people for who knows what. You ponder if these two races are connected to each other somehow but you are drawing blank. You just can’t seem to connect the dots. There must be a piece of information that you’re missing but what?

Agata then draws a depiction of the filtration machine. Then she topped it's exhaust with another machine. "Assuming that we make the secondary filters we will have to figure out a way to handle the byproduct." She then drew a series of large tanks connected to the secondary machine. "As Caiden have suggested earlier, we will have to expand the system so that it can hold and contain the byproduct." She then drew stacks of smaller canisters. Small enough to be carried by a single person but still large enough to contain a lot of something inside. It looks similar to a hot water flask. " Eventually the tanks will inevitably fill and we will have to empty it somehow and dump the excess stores some place else." She then drew a person giving a canister to another person. "Is it possible for someone be interesting in procuring canisters of this stuff?"

"For the time being, we will need to find a way of protecting ourselves from the pink mana and its byproduct's effects. I propose that we begin production of mana repellent hazmat suits and gas masks if we're going to be spending time working with this stuff." she then began to draw the hazmat suit and the gas mask on the white board. She then drew esoteric labels and magic runes that point towards certain parts of the suit and mask. "Basically we will imbue the suits and masks with pink mana warding properties. In theory, as long as you wear them, you will be protected by the effects. Seeing that pink mana usually takes the form of arcane energy, gas or liquid, the suit will also have to be airtight so the stuff won't seep into the suit." she then draws a tear in the hazmat suit and drew a depiction of twirly lines flowing inside it. "Caiden, I've heard that you were experimenting on warding spells. Do you think that you can spellcraft an aphrodisiac ward?"

Well, it was time for your strength training with Lisa. Wouldn’t be good to just hold off on the training forever, would it? She puts you through many grueling exercises, and you barely even manage to survive them. Her “warm-up” consisted of doing 500 jumping jacks, running a mile, and doing 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups, all without breaks. The worst part was her incessant smile as she worked out alongside you, doing twice of everything that you did. At least, you’re pretty sure. She stopped counting out loud after 950 jumping jacks. She actually enjoyed this, didn’t she. At the end of the warm-up, you’re bent over, gasping, and she lets you take a small water break, thankfully. And then she announces that you both were going to do the warm-up again, just to really get the blood pumping.

By the time you actually get to strength training, you feel like collapsing, but you remind yourself of your overwhelming victory against Jean-Francois, and push on. By the time you finally get a chance to even try and lift the bar, it had been two hours of “warming-up” on 25 pound hand weights. You try to lift the bar, but you barely even manage to get it an inch up, before your arms fold in, and you collapse on the bench. Lisa, thankfully, manages to catch the bar before it crushed your throat. “Good work today, Ean! Don’t feel bad, you just need a bit more training before you can lift the bar.” She smiles, and gives you a thumbs-up.

The greatest thing about combat is that you can never progress enough. Whatever you do, there will always be something new to learn. You study body language. It’s actually pretty easy to transfer that knowledge to combat. By understanding how people behave, you can make an educated guess about their future actions. You also learn about mindgames, and bluff, how to make sure you enemy cannot read you. You go to the training fields, and try to practice. It’s hard, but you start to get a feel for it pretty quickly. You keep in mind, however, that the ones you’re watching are freshmen, still predictable and inexperienced.

The professor drones on and on about runes, and how every single stroke while constructing a single rune was essential to its functioning correctly. Apparently, the order in which you wrote runes was very important, as the runic sequence could have disastrous effects if handled poorly. You take the lesson to heart. You certainly didn’t want to be like that guy who destroyed his whole neighborhood by messing up the rune for repair.

You decide to try experimenting on your own with runes. You start off with the basics, making fire runes, and water runes, drawing them in the air. To be honest, you’re pretty damn proud of yourself. Your basic fire rune made a giant pillar of fire into the sky, while the water runes let out a torrent of water. You may have fucked up the training grounds a bit, but you’re sure it’s fine. You can feel your German ancestors smiling down upon you.

Vlad looks down upon you, his face nearly expressionless, though you’re fairly certain you caught a small twinkle in his eye. “A creature of the night you shall remain, then, by your own choice. Then, you see Vlad grimace, as the blood-covered window shakes. “And so, my time has come. They are here. You must run. You must escape, to grow stronger, faster, and better. You will never be able to truly flee, but you must gain the strength to confront them. Go, now. Your fate lies in your own hands, now. I will be able to hold them off, with my years of experience. Do not look back, and do not worry about me.” He smiles at you sadly, and you know he's lying. He can't hold them off. Not on his own.

So that was it ? He was going to run away from something again ? Becoming a vampire changed nothing after all, then. He stood there, his mind racing.

Caiden seems to follow the diagram that Agata outline on the whiteboard, pointing to the various angles and circles. His prosthetic fingers tracing invisible sigils in the air, possibly to code them later. By the time the whiteboard is filled with doodles of hazmat suits, the tracing has degraded into uncontrollable jittering. "I can look into spellcrafting wards and protections," He grips his wrist to stop the mad twitching, "After I get through some complications."

"To be honest," he continued stuffing his hand into a pocket, "I got a bad brew from the coffee machine and now I'm set to blow. I tried some very simple incantations before this meeting and it fried my Magical Circuits. Liam advises that I don't try anything while I'm in this state." Simply to illustrate the point, Caiden's own aura seems to be rushing away from him creating something of a visual distortion of the space behind him to an active observer. As if objects behind his head just sort of rushed away at the speed of light.

"I'll have to stay away from spellcasting, but I can work on getting the preliminary stuff done for these projects. And I might take some time for myself while I'm sort of useless." All a sudden, an idea popped into his head and he dived into his own notes, "Your first point about who made this pipeline, I'd suggest we look into the school's records. It's how I found it in the first place." With that Caiden pushed across the table his own binder full of his notes of those records. "They should offer us a good idea of the timeline of it's construction. From there look at the activities of the various staff. Staff, or anybody else with access to the tunnels during the pipeline's construction."

"And," with all the reluctance of somebody who figures this is a bad idea, Caiden gives one small pass with his right hand, "If you're really rearing for an onsite inspection, please let's create those protections you requested. Seems prudent, right?"

>A fire altar? Alright. Let's see where this goes. With my robot backpack equipped, build a mechanical mana powered manasteel stove at the workshop with me team. The stove itself is in the shape of an altar with a single, oversized fire enchanted burner (I will ask one of my team to imbue it with fire magic with me since I know not of fire magic myself) located at the center of a detatchable rune engraved basin with a magic circle engraved in the interior to ehance its potency. (Why A basin? So that that I can put stuff in the fire like firewood without making a huge mess.). At the front of the stove altar is a pedestal with an electronic panel on top of it. Said panel is filled witch buttons, switches and knobs. All of which control certain functions and mechanisms of the stove such as how big the fire is or what sigils, runes or symbols are activated. After it is finished, have Mag the golem carry it for us into the ritual room as a part of it. Renovate the room to include a smoke vent and chimney. Having it next to the magic circle would make it more convenient. If anyone ask why we're making this I will tell them that it will aid us in our magitech research without revealing its true purpose. Fire altars have been an integral part of arcane rituals since olden times. Modernizing the method would innovate this field of magical study field.

You’re not Inferior. Just because that girl was a little better than you… ok, she was a lot better than you. But that doesn’t matter. You’re still a good swordsman, you were just having an off day. You dodge, parry, and block imaginary blows while returning counters back to the dummy. After a good while of training, you start to feel tired, so you should probably wrap it up for the day. With a final heavy swing, you cleave halfway through the dummy. Damn. Definitely not up to level with that woman, but you know what? Who cares. That’s pretty damn good for you, and that’s what matters here: your skill. Pulling your weapon free, you sheathe it and head in for a shower.

Leaves crunch beneath your feet, as you set off into the woods surrounding Madrid. These aren’t the Fey Woods, thankfully, as you heard some messed up shit was going down in there, but just the normal kind of forest- a bunch of trees, with no leaves since it’s still winter, birds, chirping and flying about, squirrels scurrying past you, and you even manage to catch a glimpse of a beaver in a nearby stream. It’s honestly very nice, and relaxing. It can be good to see the mundane world every once in a while, without having to deal with magical creatures and the like. You wish the girls were here with you- it would’ve been a nice and relaxing walk. Eventually, you think you catch a glimpse of smoke in the gray skies, and hurry along in the direction of its source.

A small, homely cottage looms before you. A small puff of smoke billows from the chimney. This must be the Woodsman’s Cottage. You knock on the door, and a grizzled old man opens it to greet you. “A guest? Come in, there’s room by the fire.” You’re a little shocked by the man’s hospitality to a complete stranger. You sit on a chair by the hearth, and the man hands you a bowl of stew. The food is simple, yet rich and delicious, the meat likely just fresh from a recent kill. It seems despite his simple tastes, they’re quite functional. The woodsman introduces himself as Lars, and that he has lived in this woods for as long as he can remember. You tell him that people told you that he was an excellent fletcher and bowman. His reply is simple, yet measured: “What do you plan on using it for?” You tell him that you’re a mageknight and that you’re planning on getting into archery, and a smile appears on his face. “Ah, you’re from the academy. I actually used to teach there, but I’m long since retired.” Lars goes on to reminisce about the old times and you sit there listening to his stories. As it turns out, he used to be in the same batch of students as Principal Hernandez, and that he was the squad’s archer. His stories are interesting enough, and you find yourself drawn in by his tales. Several hours later, he apologizes for taking so much of your time, and procures something from an old oaken trunk. It is a beautiful black wooden bow. “Here, take this. It was my first bow, and it should serve you well.” Lars says, handing it to you. He tells you to come back anytime. You talk a little while longer before leaving, your new weapon in hand.

Feeling close to a breakthrough on your studies, you double down and focus on researching Combat Theory. Reading notes from experts and masters gives you insights into all sorts of techniques, do’s and don’ts of the battlefield. When to press an attack, when to retreat, and even when to take a small hit to prevent a fatal blow. ‘Sacrifice the limb to save the head.’ While most of the knowledge is beneficial, some of it is just too advanced for you to understand. But you don’t let that derail you. If you don’t get it for now, you don’t get it for now. There’s still plenty more knowledge in these books that you can use at your level.

You can see the shadowy figure rush towards Vlad, and you know that this is your moment, your time to shine. This is what you had been training for. You speed forward, and- another figure appears out of nowhere and grabs you by the throat. It then lifted you up into the air with one hand.

Moonlight rushes through the shattered, bloodstained window, illuminating the room. Slowly your eyes adjust and you see the figures in full clarity. In front of you is young a blonde woman, about the same age as you by her appearance. She’s wearing a tattered victorian ball gown. In contrast her long flowing golden hair is well groomed. She smiled and saw two long fangs. She’s a vampire. On the other side you see Vlad Dumitru fighting off a group of people with unnatural speed. Their movement, behavior and mannerisms are animalistic and beastly. It reminded you of classic monster movies. Unlike the girl these ones have dead lifeless bleeding eyes. Their clothes are tattered and some of them have gaping wounds yet they still move about as if they were nothing. Their blood dripping mouths are filled with predatory teeth. Vlad evades their onslaught by turning into a pool of blood. Then large hardened spikes of blood sudden bursts forth from the pool impaling a majority of them and lifting them up into the air in a horrific display of brutality. He then reforms and stabs the closest attacker with more blood spikes extending from each of his fingers. Then behind a dark corner a lone attacker lunges at him. Vlad then pointed his palm towards the ambusher and quickly clenched his hand into a fist. The attack then dropped from the ground, bloated up and exploded into a shower of blood. The blood magic reinforced door breaks, letting in more of them into the room.

The blonde vampire is visibly disgusted with the scene. You then suddenly grabbed her strangling hands and tore it apart. The girl screeched in pain, a fountain of tainted blood spew forth from the stump. She then looked at you with utter hatred in her eyes and hissed at you. The horde of ferals then stopped and looked at you, before immediately converging towards you. You instinctively arched your back, lifted your feet and howled one long, spittle filled “WWWRRRRYYYYYY!” at the horde and charged towards them.

The grass near the pond look like one big fur carpet from up here. The few plant women pulsate with pink energy, seemingly even stronger than before. Something in the pond tips you off. It looks like a stone pillar was erected in the middle of the pond. It’s covered in various twisted, mangled and tangled masses of leaking pipes coming out of the ground. You recognize the designs of those pipes. They look exactly like the rod that you found sticking out of the middle of the pond some time ago. The seedlings growing in the waters appear to be enjoying whatever it is that colors the water pink, as they are now covered in bioluminescent pink markings similar to their adult counterparts. Whatever created those plant women, it probably has something to do with those pipes and the mysterious pink substance that they’re leaking into the waters.

The Combustion that you only imagined in formulas and textbooks is surely before you. And then all of a sudden, Puff. The reaction takes place. White Phosphorous Smoke billows out of the mixture. Many other students of the Chemistry Club start to get anxious but don't interfere. Instead they cut on the vents above your station before they all choke.

Paying no mind, you continue your work taking a bottle craved by yourself with Runes of Fire. A simple cork to stop up the glass and you've made yourself a simple, yet incredibly potent, fire bomb. You understand how to operate the incredary by chucking it really far away from yourself. The glass breaks exposing the phosphorous and starting the combustion. After this little prototype is done, you begin thinking up timer devices to maybe crush the glass by the trigger of a timer. Or perhaps setting the decay of the Runes to be the trigger. But more work will have to be done.

It always starts with a rush to the library. At least that's what all good students would try. This evening it seems somewhat overcast outside. A forbidding omen if you remember anything from Divination class, but hopefully nothing more. From Caiden's notes about the construction of tunnels underneath the academy, you discover that the specific tunnels that now hold the toxic pipeline run underneath some of the older structures of the academy. Specifically, the Holy Order's Chapel, the First Residency Housing, and the Training Grounds which include HEMA reserved practice area.

It seems like the tunnels themselves were apart of the earliest construction efforts. Within the manila folder are black and white photos of the shovel breaking ceremony, as well as many other documents dated back the previous century. On the backside of one group photo are letters and a date, "SLS, 1911." Curious, you start to wonder the significance of such a photo simply because it seems out of place to the manila folders contents of diagrams and dates. Fast forwarding through the records brings you to a more contemporary news article. The headline reads, "School Club Discovers Untold Power." Despite the headline the article tells of one school club in the early 90s starting a project for what they consider a dormant leyline.

The phrase dormant leyline is underlined many times by Caiden's hand. Reprinted to the side of the article is a scrap of notebook paper. More of Caiden's writing, but he seems to be quoting another source, a Domenico Tierraverde. A crude drawing of the school grounds and the pipeline underneath is there as well with many runes you understand as Mana, Paths, and Sympathy.

You pester the attentive Golem Athena for the Academy Annuals. Soon enough the golem returns with a stack of red bound journals. These are the yearbooks for the last few decades compiled into many volumes. There maybe an electronic source, however… Outside the storm seems to pick up. The windows bang in their framings. Maybe another bad omen, maybe the universe encouraging you to dig deeper with the materials you have. Either way you pour into the red bound journals, until you match the captions of the news article with students in the journal.

Vlad stretches his arms at the horde with an open palm. Vlad's entire body glow red with esoteric sigils. His eyes burning with powerful arcane energies. Then The entire horde stopped stopped on their, paralyzed. Soon all of the blood in the room fly off and accumulate at the horde. Then the horde started to convulse and writhe in agony. Soon all of them started to inflate into a balloon of flesh, eyeballs popping out of sockets, blood vessels burst and spray blood into the air which bounces back and floats in place. Vlad then squeezed his open hands into a pair forceful fists they all started popping like enormous zits, splattering their guts and viscera everywhere. The explosion was so powerful that both you, Vlad and the Vampire girl was sent hurdling across the room, destroying furniture and shattering windows and sent the room door flying. Soon the entire room is all red with blood. The impact was too strong for you even in your awakened state that you lost consciousness and blacked out.

With your new bow, you just need to learn how to actually use it. And you know someone who could. She shrugs. “Sure, I don’t have anything else to do. Let me tell the old man about it, I’ll be right back.” She leaves, and returns soon enough, followed by the elderly monk, who gives you a silent nod. The shrine maiden, now with a longbow and a quiver under her arm, gestures you to follow her. You do so, and she leads you to a small shooting range in a nearby park. “Ah, good, it’s still there.” When you ask why the range would disappear, she grins. “Well, I’m not exactly allowed to set up this thing. Or practice here. But I have nowhere else to do it, really. But we’re not here to talk about that, you want to learn ?” You retrieve your own bow. “Wow, that’s a beautiful bow. A bit different from the ones we use back home, though, but I can still teach you how to use it. You probably already know the basics. Nock the arrow, pull it back, release it, boom, right ?” You nod. “Right, what’s important is finding a position you’re comfortable in. Try it, draw your bow.” You do so, and she rectifies a few things in your posture, then nods. “That should be good. Now, let’s talk about breathing. It might not sound that important, but when you draw your bow, you want to take a deep breath. Then as you loose your arrow, breath it all out. You can do a kiai-a shout if it helps you. Give it your all !” You try it, and can’t help but feel a bit silly letting out a scream like that. She shakes her head, hands on her hips. “No, that’s not good, you really have to put all your heart into it ! Like this !” She draws her own bow, and fire, letting out a scream enough to spook a few birds, and make you flinch. “See ? Like this. Try to practice that, then I’ll teach you how to actually hit your target.” She then orders you to put your bow down. The rest of the lesson is comprised of breathing exercises. After a while, she decides that it’s good enough. “Oh, by the way, I realize I haven’t even introduced myself formally. My name is Yamamura Kyoko. Just call me Kyoko.” You introduce yourself to her, then part ways with her.

Despite your gut feeling that you should not go anywhere near them, you are resolute to commit on fulfilling your promise. Will they like your tribute? How will they react? Will they keep their promise? What if they don’t like it? What will happen then? Will they still be the same as before? They seem to have change quite a lot. Those are but a glimpse as to what is running through your head thoughts right now.

Suddenly you noticed that you are already within their territory. Time sure does fly when you worry a lot. You stood there and announced your presence. Soon a group of plant women emerges from all around you. They look radically different than before. One of them who is a holding thorny floral staff in the shape of two people locked in a tight embrace of passionate love emerges from the crowd and stepped forth. “Welcome back, Maiden of Flames. I see that you have brought tribute.” You reassured her that you have indeed. You unwrapped the package and opened the box, revealing its contents to them. The staff wielding plant woman picked one up from the box and examined it. “What an interesting sculpture. It’s soft yet firm. This reminds me of manhood but this one takes the form of a peculiar shape. Tell us. What is this?” Your face warms up. The onlookers smile, knowingly what your facial expression means. Plant matter began to flake off of her body and converges on the pink vortex that is floating on her palm. Soon the ball of plant matter began to take shape, forming into what looks like a vogue visage of what looks like clothing. It then sprouted a pair of eyes on the front and looked all over you. Soon it twists and morphs, transforming into a perfect copy of the clothes that you are currently wearing right now. “Take this gift with you.” The shapeshifting clothing morphs back into a portable plant pod. “It will protect you from harm and it can also take the form of any clothing that you command it to copy. She will be your most loyal servant.” The pod then spoke to you. “I am grown to serve you, Maiden of Flames. Your wish is my command.”

Some time later you decided to return to the pond and explored it more closely on ground level. Compared to the rest of the fey wilderness this area is a whole place on its own. The trees of this land take the form of humanoid shapes. Most of which are provocative and sensual in form. You touch a tree’s trunk. They are as warm as a person’s skin. It’s still as hard as a trunk but it’s a lot smoother than regular bark. Almost like skin. You’re not sure if these trees are as sentient as the plant women. You leaned down and touch the grass. It’s soft like fur. You almost feel like lying down and taking a nap on it. You approach the pond itself. Well, it’s more of a fountain oasis now. The air around it is thick in aphrodisiacs. You can’t get near it for long periods of time without feeling overwhelmingly aroused. The plant children playing in the pond giggled from your struggle. One of them attempted to splash you but fortunately one of the adults stopped her and lectured the child. The adult then faced you and apologized. You looked at the stone pillar from where you stand. It looks unnatural. It’s as if someone forcefully pulled a stone deep underground and lifted it to the surface. You can see the scars from the pulling on each side of the stone, forming a vertical pattern. The mangled clusters of pipes that twist around the pillar are still rooted to the ground. Where the lead to or what they are connected to you is a mystery to you. Some of them still leak the pink substance to the pond.

You walked around some more and saw what looks like a hut made out of clusters of pink and purple humanoid shaped trees like the ones before. How they have managed to shape those into a hut is a mystery to you. You took a peek inside and you saw the dragon dildos neatly placed and standing upright around what looks like an unfinished effigy of you with wings and pink flames burning between its open palms. On the walls are various trinkets and clothes (most of them are underwear) all meticulously lined up around the walls. On the other side of the hut is another effigy of a tall regal looking woman holding her hands and showing her palms. Each palm holds smaller effigies of winged fairies sitting on each hands, looking at her. If you could guess, this must be some sort of altar or shrine. You asked her who the other effigy is, a plant woman garbed in leafy robes steps forward. “She is the mistress, Maiden of Flames.” This place is a bit odd. You’ve never knew these plant people can be this... artistic? The change must have made them more intelligent somehow. Based on the crude murals, there burgeoning culture centers around sexuality, the nature that surrounds them and the pond from which they came.

Like a dutiful student you attend Class with your pencils and paper and make an elaborate series of notes that you'll be sure to review afterwards. You've been able to pick up the basics of Summoning pretty well so most of the lecture is review. You begin to understand just why there's so much interest in this subject.

There are as many beings/entities/spirits/demons to summon as there are grains of sand. The most written and popular creatures happen to be: Elementals, Ghosts, Fey, Demons, Celestials, and what are called Outer Things. Each summoner seems to be reaching out through similar conduits and yet drawing out different results. The difference seems to be the reliance on different connections between the ritual and the ritual's subject.

Sigils to invoke the attentions of Demons, the dearly loved teddy bear of a Ghost, even the flames of a candle as a focus for Fire Elementals. Each provides an aspected conduit to the greater unknown. Which begs a curious question: If we can draw these creatures from the greater darkness, are we then also able to travel back along the same way?

He leans backward letting the shadows obfuscate his face. "Come join our Club and prove to the school's faculty that hard science and discipline are still necessary even as a Mageknight. In this way, your success is our success, and our materials are at your disposal."

Plant women seem to be on the loose somewhere in the fey woods near the cooking and gardening. You decide to investigate, for scientific reasons, of course. You enter the forest, and start looking. At first, you only see regular garden fairies, who quickly disappeared once they see you. But then, you discover some suspicious pink plants. You follow the trail, and quickly enter a part of the woods that looks like something out of a madman’s dream. You come across a clearing, with a pond of pink, luminescent water in the center. There, you notice a few of the plant women, covered in bioluminescent markings, going through their daily routines. A thick perfume seems to float in the air, and you feel a little uneasy. You accidentally step on a twig, and some of the plant women raise their heads, alerted. Before you’re discovered, however, you manage to leave this place, your heart racing in your chest.

You toil away at your little chemistry/alchemy/magetable inside your dorm. As you work on your experiments, you noticed that the plant woman sapling at the corner of the desk is a bit larger than before now. You postulate that its absorbing pink mana residue from your experiments while you work. Perhaps placing the plant pot right next to your magetable is a bad idea. You returned your attention to your experiments once more. Some time later you detected something moving from the corner of your eye. You looked at the direction where you were working. You just saw the plant girl sapling again. It looks pretty humanoid now. You are beginning to get concerned to the prospect of dealing with a fully awaken plant child. Hours pass and you still have not gotten a breakthrough. It’s the middle of the night so you decide to stop for now and take a quick snooze before you accidentally do something stupid with the experiment with your sleepiness. You went to your bed, lie there and went to sleep. When you woke up it’s morning and you feel extremely weak for some reason. You closed the open windows, went to your dorm’s bathroom and washed your face on the sink. When you looked into the mirror, you saw that you’re a bit thinner and a lot paler. Then something tipped you off. You look at the side of your neck and saw a pair of small wounds there. Then you remembered something. When you were studying, your windows was closed. You even made sure of it so your research papers would not be blown off by the wind. So... why is the window open when you woke up? Could it be...

Right, sickness or not, you still have unfinished business to attend to. You looked for any means to restore their memories back. You learn the root cause of the problem. It turns out that the plantoid bodies that they possess is merely an outer shell for there “true self”, if you can even call it that, which rapidly grows around it. Whenever a plant woman perishes a wisp-like orb of light emerges from the cadaver and travels towards the direction where the pond is. You have no idea what these wisps are as you suspect that it is beyond your scope of expertise. Perhaps a field of study that concerns the soul might help? Determined, you went to the library and read up on books about souls. You learned things like reincarnation and sometimes a soul carries with them the memories of past lives to their new selves. Sometimes the soul divides causing two entities to carry half of a deceased person with them. Seeing that the plant women’s spirit energy is strong enough that people with no 6th sense or opened third eye can see them is an indication that this is no natural death. Some kind of force is pulling the spirits back into the pond to be reincarnated into a new plant woman. If that is the case then that would mean that there are no memories to restore as the memories themselves have been dispersed into multiple entities. In order for you to restore a plant woman’s memory you will have to somehow extract their souls and merge them back into the original being that they have originated from. Though that would mean that you will have to destroy their outer shell and capture these wisps after death somehow. Such a feat requires expert knowledge in the machinations and the very nature of the soul itself.

Manasteel is a superconductive material that is specifically made to contain mana. Unlike other metals, almost no mana is lost when manasteel is used to conduct magical energy, making it perfect on conduits or weapons of magic. However, with all the mana related issues popping up, you can’t help but feel the need to create something to counteract magic instead.

And so, you get to work. The first step of the process is to determine which metal would be used as a base. Oddly enough, after many different tests, you have found that the best metal to create this superinsulator metal would be the superconductor itself: manasteel. You enlist the aid of one of your other club members, Camille Henriques. She’s your best computer expert, and her magical art just happens to be Nullification and Void magic. After several chugs from the Mana Coffee machine, she infuses the metal with so much energy that it almost seems to collapse in on itself. The interactions between a mana superconductor and anti-magical energy is… strange, to say the least. Over the course of 8 hours, you both tirelessly work on the metal, and by the end of it, the results are a lot more than you expected.

The metal is dense. Extremely dense. It weighs far too much to lift without the use of a machine. You can’t even use magic to lift it, as it seems to negate any magic directed at it. In fact, you’d go as far to say that it draws in magical energy from the area and absorbs it into itself. Since you cannot detect where that mana goes, you can only assume and theorize what happens. Either the mana is destroyed without a single trace, or it’s “absorbed” into the metal. You briefly wonder what would happen if it hits critical mass, but you decide not to dwell on that. Perhaps it’s like a black hole, or a neutron star. Either way, you find that it is extremely effective at its task. So much so, that you feel a little weaker when exposed to the metal for extended periods of time. It’s almost like a Mage’s Kryptonite. A little dangerous, even. You put it in a sealed chamber for now.

When you look through the archives, you discover that no one has ever created a metal quite like this one. There are some metals that nullify magical energy, but none come close to this metal’s magnitude of magical power(or lack thereof). You all take some time to celebrate at the prospect of this huge breakthrough. Halfway through the celebrations, however, Camille falls ill. She is soon rushed to the clinic for Mana Deprivation. Nurse Kiru tells you that there seems to be some sort of mana poisoning that is occurring in her system. She will recover, but she was told to take it easy for now. As it turns out, even a slight cut and trace amount of the metal in the bloodstream will cause something like this to occur. In higher concentrations, it might even be lethal to mages or beings of magic. This is… disconcerting, but undeniably useful.

Sometimes the Madrid Academy can give you surprises. We actually have a Plumbing class! A man with a mustache in a dirty boilersuit is sitting on the desk usually reserved for the teacher but he is currently asleep. You decide to wake him up and ask him if he could teach you about plumbing. You explain the project with the MagiTech Club and he seems to approve of the idea. He gets up and starts drawing some diagrams on the blackboard.

The class goes on about different types of pipes, tubes, connectors, sealers, gaskets, valves and how to connect everything together to make a plumbing system work. You learn about the different materials like copper and plastic and how every system has an input and output. Most of the class is focused on water, but then explains that some kinds of magical fluids, like mana, work like water when they are in a system. Even with you as his only student he seems passionate about the topic. But he only covers the very basics of plumbing. After the class the professor gives you a paper with what the course includes and where you can find him when he’s not teaching.

This time on the engineering class you take a closer look and examination of the concept of thermodynamics and physical systems. You take special notes when the teacher explains open systems and how they always take an input, and give an output, from and to the environment surrounding the system.

Feeling Inspired by the class you go to the Magitech Club with Liam and start to design a secondary filtration system. You start to discuss with Liam the alchemical reactions of the byproducts of the original machine and ways you could neutralize them. After that you go through every reaction and analyze it to see if they are actually inert. Liam then brings up the list of plans and start working on them. Also you make a list in the Club whiteboard with everything needed for the filtration system, and as the hours pass, one by one you cross off items off that list. Whew! In front of you, you have the blueprints to the filtration system. When you see the sun up you say goodbye to Liam and ask him to meet later after sleeping.

Day two of the Filtration Systems begins and you go back to the MagiTech Club with all the supplies needed to build the prototype. With Liam as your assistant and a perfectly developed plan for the machine you start to work on the prototype for the filtration system.

"You seem to be in a bit of a pickle." You heard a distant reverberating voice coming from the abyss of your mind. You heard footsteps echo. As you feel the entity's presence moving every so slowly towards you, you slowly began to hear a demented calliope music coming from the distance. Soon you see a humanoid figure emerging from your mental fog. You saw a man with elongated features. Screaming faces float around him. He then raised his head to look at you. There is nothing on his face. Just a black gaping void. He then grabbed one of the floating faces and put it on. At first the face looked like a normal person's but then it began to smile and grin, It continued to grin until the sides of its mouth reaches each ear. A series of sharp interlocking teeth began to protrude inside its mouth. Then its eyelids open revealing pin pricked lights coming deep within its eye sockets. You then heard a rolling sound coming from inside its sockets. Soon a pair of bloodshot eyes came forth which soon reorient themselves to focus on you. His stare pierces your very heart and mind. "No no no. Not yet. I have so much more things in store for him." The darkness that's enveloping you soon retreated to the void.

The ground beneath you began to crumble away revealing countless hands tugging and grabbing at you. You turn to look and saw hundreds if not thousands of the vampire girl. The figure then straightened his hand and pierced you with it right in the sternum. He then pulled something right out of you. It was a glowing and pulsating orb. It emanates of arcane magics. He then squeezed his unnaturally long hands and crushed to pieces. The horde of vampire girls screeched and began to wither away into dust. "His now undying soul rightfully belongs to me. Only I can toy him. Not some vampiric wench. Begone!" The ground under you reconstituted itself.

"How's life trying you, Young Faust? Or rather how's unlife treating you?" He began to laugh. He then squatted to take a better look at you and tilted his head "I've heard you've accomplished so much since we last met. Good for you, kid." he clapped at you. "Oh, don't you worry your faceless little head." He pinches the sides of your gaping void of a face and wiggled it about " The fun! Has just! begun!" He stood straight and swayed his upper torso left and right. You began to get assaulted by maddening visions of your past. All of them distorted and warped. Then you found yourself in what looks like a long hallway. People in nurse and patient garb are lined up on the wall. They then turned their head towards you revealing that they too have no face. They reached out to you and began to howl in agony. You backed away and ran to the other direction. As you open the door out you saw the sun shining brightly on top of the sky. Gradually the sun soon form a demented face and began to move towards the earth, burning away the grass and trees. People around you burn. Soon you began to burn up yourself, leaving nothing but bones.

You woke up and saw your flesh fused to what looks like a carousel of flesh and bones. The contraption began to spin round and round. The calliope music from earlier began to pick up speed as the carousel begins to spin faster and faster until the flesh horses' skin began to peel off revealing muscle and bone inside. You looked to your sides and saw what looks like sacks of flesh with humanoid figures stuck inside. they writhe and shake in a fruitless attempt to escape their horrid prison. The carousel lifted off and spun into a large cavern of teeth and hair. The descent continued until you came across a tunnel filled to the brim with faces. All of them screaming for help and death. The carousel soon suffer turbulence and began to bounce off the wall of faces. Each impact smashes a group of faces, abruptly ending their cries and screams. The other faces realizes whats going on and began to fear for their lives as they can do nothing but wait for the mad flesh carousel to make impact. Soon your prison landed on a pool of putrid water. You saw severed limbs and torsos float along the foul smelling river. Suddenly flesh began to rain down from above. It's the mangled faces of the ones that suffered the impact.

Then you heard a raging stream of water coming from the other end of the cavern. The carousel began to tilt and you slowly realized what it meant. You're headed for a waterfall. Your sacked companions began to realize it as well and writhe inside their flesh sacks even more. You can hear muffled screams coming from inside. Then the anticipation soon came into reality as the flesh carousel descended further into the depths. As you fell you glimpsed what looks like some solid plot of land below. As you fall close you soon realized that the ground is lined with large fangs. Large enough to puncture a ship into sinking. The carousel soon made impact and your flesh bag companions and the carousel flesh horses all got impaled by the gigantic fangs. Moments later you heard slimy squirming from the distance. Soon a horde of man sized maggots with crying faces on their foreheads began to crawl towards the flesh carousel and began to consume its carcass, leaving behind its skeletal framework. They then proceeded to consume the bodies. Some of them struggled to get away from the great devourers but it was futile. Soon they are all devoured by the giant maggots, leaving nothing but rancid fecal matter in their wake. One of them notices you and began to devour you starting from your legs and working up towards your abdomen, chest and soon your head. As you looked into on from inside the maggots mouth, you saw him again. Standing from behind the swarm of maggots and waved playfully at you. "Toodles!" He began to laugh hysterically and you blacked out once more.

Some indeterminate time later, you woke up in some sort of chemistry lab. There are jars of blood on the shelves. "A165"? "Z01J"? "B008Z"? They are all labelled with some sort of code that you're not familiar with. On the desk is a severed, yet still twitch, arm with tubes grafted into it. It seems to be pumping blood in and out of it for who knows what purpose. You looked to the other side and saw a body inside a vat. It's the vampire girl! What's left of her anyway. She has lost a vast majority of her body. All that's left are her upper torso, neck and head. Like the severed hand she is connected to a series of tubes. By the looks of her shredded stumps she seems to have suffered grievous injuries. You look at your feet and saw a grey haired man with a ponytail mumbling to himself about something and hearing what sounds like writing. You tried to stand up but a sudden burst of pain ran all across you which made you groan in pain. The gray hair man notices it and turned around. It's vlad, wearing a labcoat. "Easy. You must not move so much. Your body is still healing from the strain." Strain? Oh that's right. Last you remember you and Vlad were assaulted by a group of vampires and then... Nothing. You asked the good doctor what happened. "You went into torpor for several hours. Luckily there was enough blood to sustain your body until it fully healed. Do not worry about being bedridden for months, being a vampire does indeed have its advantages... and disadvantages." You looked at yourself and saw that you are being pumped clean and purified blood, as indicated by the machine that's hooked up to you right now. You asked what happened to the girl. "After you went down I engaged her in battle for some time. Eventually I got the upperhand and managed to blow her up with the one she craved the most." Vlad then looked on to the vat where the girl now resides. "Miraculously she survived the second blast and continued to crawl towards me." He then strokes his short beard "She has this... utterly ecstatic look on her face. It's as if she was enjoying the whole ordeal." He walked towards the Vat to take a closer look at her. "Eventually she lost to much blood and went into torpor." He walked to you and checked your blood monitors. "I managed to pull both of you back into my lab before sunrise." He then moved to the other side to check on your arm. You see that you've received some stitches. "And your face. I'm not sure how it got that way, let alone how you survived this long with those, but rest assured, I'm unfazed by your predicament though you have my sympathies. It must be hard living like that." He took his clipboard and began to write some notes "I've seen worse. You have not seen true horror until you've bear witness what a vampire lord can do to a town if left unchecked." He walked to the chemistry table and began to concoct something. Eventually he extracting syringe full of blood and injected you with.

You told him that you'll think about it. You asked him if you can leave now. "Yes. You can go. this whole ordeal must have been a lot for you. Go home and rest the day off. Remember to come back to me should you be ready to begin you lessons as a vampire." You nodded and took your leave. "You forgot something. Careful not to lose it." He handed you your stone mask and 3 vials of human blood. "Be careful. The night is still young." You nodded and took some spare clothes from the closet and left.

You revisit the Pink Oasis again. This time with the intent of investigating the pond itself more thoroughly. It’s the same as before but this time pink and purple vines now cover the pipes and the stone pillar underneath. These vines look pretty strange. They look like a cluster of groping, feminine hands. You saw some plant women etching symbols into each of the stone’s faces. Have they developed their own language? You ponder to yourself as you bare witness to their craftsmanship. You then saw a couple of them emerging from the shrine. Both of them are dressed in a similar garb as the priestess; One of them has long strands of plant matter acting as her hair. It’s covering half of her face. She seems like a downer. The other one has short, flowery “hair”, which flows downwards and upward at the tips. She’s pretty perky. They seem to be doing an incantation of some sort. For what purpose you’re not sure though it is reminiscent to what the Chieftain did when she created your suit. Soon the two stopped their incantations and finally casted their spell. It’s a twisting glow of green and pink. The stream of arcane energy then seeps to the furry grass filled ground and soon a cluster of sprouts burst forth from the ground. Then they casted a secondary volley of arcane energy on the cluster sprouts and soon they all grew rapidly into mighty lewd trees. Like the ones growing around the area. One of them made a “go down” gesture at the tree with her hands, bending it into shape. The shaping process looks like someone bending over backwards and stretching out their arms toward the stone pillar. After some time of shaping the tree, it eventually took the form of a human shaped bridge towards the stone pillar. The plant children who were watching from the pond waters clapped at the new structure and the two plant women shapers. They both bowed and went back to the shrine.

If Pink Mana is lust-charged mana, then you figure that you could be able to transmute regular mana into pink mana be tainting it with lust somehow. After some time of experimentation and testing your theory was confirmed when you began channeling your energy to yourself and focused on thinking about pleasurable/passionate/lewd thoughts. After some time of letting the mana stew inside you, you finally release the contained mana through your hand as arcane energy. It works! The arcane energy before you glows pink. Having met someone new, it might be a good time to try cooking something new. Deciding to go with something from her culture she’d be familiar with, you set to work making a bento. And the result is… mediocre, at best. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just not good either. Certainly you could it eat, but it’s not something you want to give to someone. Not having any time left, you finish the sub par meal yourself, waste not want not, and go to practice with Kyoko. Maybe next time the bento will be better.

Your first steps in the academy leads into the reception area. There seems to be plenty of hussle and bussle as a flood of other students rush to sign up for their classes and living space. Some of the second years have been assigned to show the new arrivals the campus and you take the tour. The tour guide of course gives you a brief history of each of the buildings. The most historic structures happen to be The Academy's Chapel where you can positively feel the holy and divine auras spill forth from the large wooden doors and the loud iron knockers.

Blonde, maybe obliviously so since she has to retrieve a tennis ball from her gym bag in the most ridiculous manner, getting the straps tangled in her arms. However as soon as she steps into the court, she gains a laser focus. Her racket swings through the air in a radiant arc, smashing the ball over the net. Her opponent reacts with a similar dexterity and speed, parrying the ball back. This goes on for about what you can scarcely believe is simply a minute, before the girl launches a devastating return that her opponent can't answer.

Whatever your interest in tennis is, you feel compelled to introduce yourself. Her name is Danielle, and she seems friendly enough, positively bubbly in fact. Luckily even if it is expensive, it is in you budget. Being in equal pairs would even stop them from getting jealous. In another shop close by, you see something that you think might look good on them. A shop with boots. You even spot the perfect pairs for them. A leather 2-inch high-heeled boots for both Tenia and Isabel that seemingly fits their style of dressing. The shoes provide speed too!

She was very direct in making a point in discussing but it didn’t help that it was a somewhat complicated topic to explain. “In essence, Void theory is the magic of nothing. Absence and emptiness. If used properly, it can negate magic. If used wrongly, you can phase out of existence. It is often confused with Spatial magic but there is a clear difference once you understand how it's used. While they both control space in some way, Spatial magic directly controls space around you, while Void magic ‘empties’ that space for something else.”. Then use one of the pink mana canisters to make a wide but shallow fabric dipping pool and dip the Agatite side of the mesh in this pool of pink mana multiple times while using transmutation to slowly alter the material's properties. Repeat process until the material develops a strong resistance to pink mana while significantly weakening its resistance to other forms of mana. Finally enchant the material with force in such a way that it repeals any pink mana tainted material (like water or air) that comes into physical contact with it. If this proves successful then this should, in theory anyway, be a suitable material for making the anti-pink mana suits.

It tastes a little off, not even mediocre. Maybe you'll need to revise your approach to this dish. And then all a sudden, the meal hits the bottom of your stomach like a brick. You realize your mistake when you look at the inventory list on the side of the Fridge: Everything was borrowed from the Academy's Cafeteria. Your face turns pale and you run to the bathroom.

Meeting back up with Danielle, she is her bubbly and happy self. Somewhat subdued outside the tennis courts. When the topic of conversation turns towards the girls that jumped you, Danielle's face turns bright red and angry and for some reason the air around her seems a few degrees warmer. She takes a few breaths to calm herself and remarks that it isn't good for her to get so excited. Casey Queensley[QM retcon due to PC having a similar name], recently transferred from a School in Germany and has been taken over some parts of the Rec Center for her own private club for her gang. The gang doesn't really have a name, but it does have a theme where in each girl is forced to practice yoyoing until they can hit a pin at ten feet, whether by magic or skill.

Striding confidently, with your face sporting a black eye and wearing a ridiculous uniform, you return to the Storage Shed that Casey has staked as her own. Upon seeing you, many just start laughing and pointing at your sorry looking face. Others seem to be more irate with your dress being an affront to their own poorly put together fashions. It doesn't take long for Casey to appear. She smokes a cigarette between her fingers giving you a long stare, before grabbing you by the collar.

Blowing lucky tobacco into your face, you don't even flinch, your good eye waters quite a bit but you don't flinch. The leader of the gang picks at the seams in your hastily made uniform and just starts pulling. Still you don't flinch. She starts pulling and pulling until the sleeve of your uniform just frays and falls off. Holding this string she whispers a few words and a ball of light manifests in her hands. A Yoyo appears, seemingly wound with the string from your uniform's sleeve.

Finally releasing your collar she speaks an ultimatum, "If you want to prove yourself and not get hassled anymore. To so, either by improving this shitty uniform or being as good as anyone of my girls with this" Casey hands you the Yoyo she conjured from thin air and dismisses you with a wave of her hand.

Having Romero's number on that card he gave to you after the eldritch incident, you phone him up and ask if he can come to the academy to help with deciphering a page you found in the Kronorium. Unfortunately he tells you he’s attempting to perform an exorcism so he and can’t come at the moment. He does ask you to describe what the cipher looks like. You tell him all about the shape of the symbols, and how some have dots while others don’t. He says that it’s probably a pigpen cipher, the symbols correspond with the certain letters on a grid.

The Magitech members, with the exception of Camillle gather around. The first thing to do is simple enough. You gather both metals and use a draw plate to make appropriately sized wires. Your team then works together using a machine loom to weave the mesh together. After repeating the process with Manasteel, you begin the process of fusing the meshes together using a transmutation process. Magical adhesion. The Agatite and Manasteel react strangely to each other, but hold, thanks to the powerful magical energy of the ritual.

Now it’s time for the next step. You take a pink mana canister and empty its contents into a basin. Being near it makes you feel strange, and you’re sure your team feels the same. It seems simply dipping it isn’t enough to alter its properties. Instead, you decide to leave the thing to absorb the mana for a longer duration. After leaving the Agatite side soaking in the pink fluid, you leave it in the sealed chamber for a while. Every four hours, you take the mesh out for an hour, before leaving it back in the mana for four more hours. Several times during the process, you have to break open a new canister. It seems the Agatite is also outright destroying the pink mana now. Excellent.

Having finished the process, you give it a test. It seems that the treated Agatite still drains mana around it, but at a vastly reduced rate. The Manasteel helps reduce this mana drain to almost nothing. An exceptional result. The material is now tough, flexible, and pink-mana resistant. You go and carve runes into the material. The result makes it similar to a hydrophobic material, repelling pink mana in liquid form, and letting no airborne or auraborne pink mana through the fabric. While the material is a little on the heavy side, you’re certain you can produce this kind of mesh on a regular basis. Perfect for making some hazmat suits.

I don’t know what's wrong with you but you successfully do it. So good in fact that you don't run out of mana and keep sending telepathic messages until the sun it's already up. You gave the Manchild some serious nightmares of lycanthrope transformations. And as you mildly meditate to feel your mana levels, you notice that sending mental images is not particularly mana expensive. So you keep sending her messages through the rest of the day. You had a ton of fun with this one, so you do it for another 3 nights. In fact, it’s great practice for the spell.

By studying the water sample you found out that amidst the overwhelming volume of lust tainted water are trace amounts of spirit energy. That is most peculiar property for a pond of water but then again wisp return to the pond so their essence must have merged with the waters when they arrive. The question is; why are these disembodied fey spirits keep coming back from this location? You went to the library and read any book related to bodies of water and souls. Then you stumbled upon a certain topic; Soul Wells. It is said that these spiritual geographical locations are portals to one of a multitude of spirit realms. It is one of many types of places where the souls of the recently deceased travel to their respective afterlives to be processed by divine beings for reincarnation or ascendance/damnation. Could it be that the pond, in its uncorrupted state, was once one such wells? If that is indeed the case then that would mean that the pink mana that leaks out of the pipes has tainted the well, corrupting any soul who passes through it and causing it to spawn beings such as the plant women into existence. Being fey their very being is deeply tied to magic making them, especially their vulnerable unprotected souls, very susceptible to change. Once a soul passes through the corrupted pond their very essence alters their very being resulting in a transformed incarnation. This also means that anyone who dies near the fey wilderness are doomed to be reincarnated into plant women. You remember discovering the plant women’s penchant of overindulging themselves with their prey to exhaustion or even death in worse cases. This would mean that it is possible that some of these plant women were once people in their former lives. Their collection of human clothing in their shrine points to this possibility.

The project sounded like an incredibly daunting task but then you had an idea. Those pipes that wrap around the stone pillar, it seems that they were specifically built for mana. What if you use it as a conduit for an area wide spell? Plus it’s in a perfect location; right in the middle of the pond itself. Seeing that the plant women have already built a bridge there it’s only a matter of walking up to it and... Only one problem though; You will need to find the materials and the right incantations to alter the behavior of the mana pipes to your machinations but in order for you to do that you will have to study the pipes themselves and how they work. A big project like this would require much preparation. The pipes were meant to hold and extract mana. What you are attempting to do is essentially the opposite of it. It will also need something to amplify its effects to a wider area and with more potency. With this in mind you list down all of the required materials to convert the pillar of pipes into a soul conduit/transmuter..

Curious about their language and culture, you went back to the plant women to learn more about their culture. What better to learn of their culture than consulting with their wise women. You went back to the shrine and looked for the priestess. As you walked further inside you saw the two shapers from before vigorously communing with your effigy using the sacred relics that surrounds it. They’re surprisingly skilled in their use. They noticed you watching at them and they smiled. Eventually you saw a small room at the end of the shrine. You moved aside the vegetal curtains and saw the priestess floating in midair, meditating without her robes. She is emanating in pink arcane energy while a cluster of undergarments revolve and float around her. She opened one of her eyes and looked at you. She smiled, closed her eye and slowly ended her meditation with a deep breathe followed with an exhale. She landed on the ground and stood up from her meditative posture. As she stood up her robes levitated and wore itself to her. She then spoke “Yes, Maiden. What is it you need?” You asked her if she could teach you their language. “Certainly. Please follow me” She lead you to a wall full of symbols and glyphs. After hours of lessons you finally have a basic grasp of their language.

Learning from your past mistake and combining it with your knowledge of dragonbloods, you rewritten your dragon summoning incantation to exclude summoning dragons who are human-like and emphasized on summoning true dragons. After an entire day of research, on the next day you went to an open clearing to test out your new version of the summoning ritual. You concentrate and focus. You picture an image of a dragon inside your mind. As you envision, an image of Luz manifested in your thoughts. Seeing this as an opportunity, you pointed your palms on the emerging summoning circle and released a stream of mana to it. The circle is getting brighter and brighter. Your eyes are in pain from looking at it but you must stand your ground. Slowly an ever rising bulge started to form at the center of the now rotating circle. Soon you bore witness as a large dragon of light emerges from the blinding portal of light. It roared to the sky causing the clouds to clear and letting the light of the sun shine brightly at the being of light. Soon the dragon shaped light materializes and peeled off, revealing a silver scaled dragon with golden talons and a pair of large avian wings. He’s the size of a bus. It stretches it large wings and body and looked around. “I AM A SERVANT OF THE GREAT LUZ THE LIGHTBRINGER! FOR WHOM TO WHICH I AM SUMMONED?” You speak up to reveal your presence to him. It then leaned down his head to face you up close “OH? ARE THE ONE WHO SUMMONED ME?” You confirmed his statement. “THAT SCENT. IT IS FAMILIAR TO ME.” he sniffs you “YOU SMELL OF A DRAGON OF LIGHT…” He walks around to take a better look at you “YET YOU DO NOT LOOK LIKE A DRAGON.” He returns to his proper posture and tilted his head “YOU MUST BE ONE OF THE HALFBLOODS THAT MY BRETHREN HAVE SPOKEN OF. THIS IS QUITE A TREAT INDEED.” He stood upright and crossed his arms. “TELL ME, YOUNG ONE. WHY HAVE YOU SUMMONED ME?”

You spend some time and eventually you find the condo manager and he tells you all about what the available condos. The others are too small or too big but he then shows you about the only medium sized condo. He shows you that the condo has everything you need. Upon entering, you see the a nice and large living room that even has a spreadable sofa bed for 3. He tells you that it was left by the previous owners and it's a bit bent and you could feel a bar when opened as a bed The walls are spread with a beige color, the windows are in the proper areas with nice violet curtains. The bathroom is pretty nice too. Even having a small bathtub. The areas have a nice kitchen, with 2 stoves that has enough working space for two people but once you open the bedroom, you see only one double-full bed. It would only fit two people to sleep in it. In the power frame side, we will forge and machine the individual parts and components. After the parts are created we will begin the construction of the frame itself. The frame will be made in such a way that it can readjust so that any body type can wear the frame in comfort and ease. Then comes the servo joints themselves. These are the very same servo joint design that I use in my power armor. As before they are servos etched with force enchantment runes for extra strength and enables it run on mana. Finally, it's time to assemble all of the components together. First, attach the mesh pieces to their respective sections of the frame with the modified Agatite filled layer facing outside while the Manasteel filled layer is facing the inside. Then transmute the mesh and merge them together, sealing it. Let's not forget the zippers so that people can actually go inside and wear it. It will consist of an interior zipper to hold it in place and a mechanical sealing system so that the suit becomes both airtight and watertight.
