My name is Mary.

I now own a dungeon.

Not by choice, mind you. I was forced into this when the previous owner placed a curse on me after I tried to audit him. Now I'm the ruler of this place until my asshole of a boss decides to send someone to free me from the curse.

So, anywhere between a month and forever.

But I'm trying to make the most of it while I'm here.

Right now I'm taking a well deserved break.

You know, I'm actually feeling pretty confident about this partner. I can't see any possible negative reprocussions from this.

And we're going to save so much money in repairing the dungeon.

It looks like no one's coming today so I think I'll-

"MARY" The Demonologist runs in and shouts. "SOMEONE JUST TELEPORTED INTO THE DUNGEON!"

"PFFFT. What!? How!? I didn't even get any alerts!"

"I don't know! This has never happened before! We're all on high alert! Dungeon is locked down! We need you!"

>Mary pulls up her controls and spies on the new heroes who have entered the dungeon.

"Elf Boy, Eel, and Gremlin..? These are some odd hero names." Mary muses.

"Fitting for some odd heroes. Mary, I can tell these guys have some very unusual runes on them. Runes I've never even heard of before. We could potentially do great things with them."

"Is that so? Alright, let's see what they do..."

>Mary watches the group look around the first room in the dungeon. Ms. Bloops is in the fountain and waiting. When Elf Boy approaches the fountain she pops out and waves at them.

This will determine their entire dungeon run... Please fail so I can kill you and get your runes.

>The boy pats Ms. Bloops head. She burbles happily.

Fuck.

Been thinking alot about this quest and where we could go from here, especially in the way of profiteering while keeping our identity as a lore freindly slime themed dungeon.
Ive seen players throw around the ideas of branching the dungeon out both upwards in the form of a tower and outwards as a small series of preface quests to gain entrance to the dungeon proper, which are awesome ideas and definately worth experimenting with but I have something that we can start rolling out once we get the entrance renovated.
I think that making a walled hub outside the dungeon, either a korok village or a slime town of somekind would be most thematically correct in this situation, being that slimecrown citadel is supposed to be the estate and fortress of the slime royalty. This would allow us to sell space for outside vendors to set inns, guild halls, more merchant space, and also incorporate quest lines that will expound on the lore to our wishes, which will all add to the experience without cluttering the inside of the Dungeon.
In addition, we aught to consider expanding Bloops Foyeur into a hall of sorts, with a few plaques describing my most radical idea, an selectable progressing instance list. We could have Slimecrown as it is now be the base and origin form of the dungeon, now that we have crammed a healthy amount of mechanics and variety into it, and make it the cornerstone of expansion versions to come, and advertise the ever loving fuck out of our expanding content roster. This way people who want to take the dungeon as it is dont get put off by a constantly changing dungeon layout but at the same time we could deliver a constant stream of unintrusive new content. This is also good because as we release new itterations adventurers will go back to re-experience the old instances and re-aquaint themselves with the lore in preparation of new releases.
I have a two ideas for our first two iterations, aside our current dungeon layout. We could have a Fallen Queen dungeon ark, maybe paying a outside contractor for a cinematic of some kind to drum up more hype, and have it revolve around an attempted escape by Jeffery, have Curi's throneroom refitted to an alternate version with the ceiling and back wall destroyed and covered in 'dead' Actor slimes, And have Curi take on a more antagonistic feral form from being attacked and corrupted by jeff. Then we can shuffle some of the rooms, replace normal mob placements with Wretched slimes (Water, Power, Gravity, etc) and have the royal siblings regrouped to the arena we had planned and have them as our boss rush with Curis throneroom sealed behind defeating them!
>>
>>1325239
Maybe check if any of their clothing has their runes on it, and if so, have Ms. Bloops grab at it and pout with big sad slime eyes.
>>
>>1325359
The Second Idea could revolve around the tower, and the royal Mage slime academy and their experiments to develop more powerful slimes to fight Jeffery, have the tower stocked with all of our experimental slimes and slimes which dont otherwise fit our dungeons, giving people who want a mob heavy experience an option to climb through floors of abberant, cloth, explodey, Psychic, mage, and monk slimes to reach the grand mage slime.
Then to wrap it all together and make it comfortable for players to enjoy we have the plaqes in Mrs' bloops Hall each describe the different iterations and dungeon choices, and they can choose them before begginging the dungeon proper.
This sort of middle ground allows us to expand going forward, without abandoning all the great ideas we have worked in so far, as well as offer a new route of community interaction where we can post advertisments for our new expansions, and even hold a big event for the completion of our "Beta run" of slimecrown that the adventurers have had so far! We could hold it as a big YUM sponsored event in our slime/korok village and drum up refreshment and merchandise sales (obviously no complete sets, all the best and rarest merchandise still locked behind the token store).
What do you guys think? Awesome or shit? Im hoping that this would be revolutionary if we did it in setting and would blow people away.
>>
>>1325239
That's a girl, Mary. I know elves look pretty feminine, but I didn't expect your controls to be so racist.

Were I not on mobile right now. I would give a more detailed reubttal. But what I WILL say. Is that in theory I really do like it. However, I also think this is an incredibly huge money sink. We'd have to be extremely careful with our cash and rune expenditures to make something like this happen. This will take a lot of coordination with multiple people.

But if we pulled it off...I mean...that is pretty wicked.

This benevolent monsters idea is still bad. What's wrong with the good old role of being the villain? Or resentful against adventurers?

>>1325423

>>
>>1325423
Well, I mean, we have been working with benevolence and its worked so far. That and, well, adventurers are raiding their castle. So the hate is there when it needs to be.

Were basically a theme park aren't we?

So all employees need to stay in char with the visitors being allowed to play in certain roles (heros, bandit, invaders etc}
>>
>>1325462
I told you! Its the fucking disney world of dungeons!
>>
>>1325423
With at least a faction of the monsters in the dungeon posing as benevolent, you get a lot of possible interaction with the adventurers you couldn't get otherwise.
That way we can, as an example, design fights where you have to use the abilities of allied "good" slimes to win, stuff like that.
makes for more interesting design me thinks
>>
Hey look! It's us on the elf boy! Hi me!
>>
>>1325462
That's been a recurring/defining concept of Slimecrown we keep coming back to. We're not a mean dungeon unless you don't 'play by the rules'. You stay in-bounds and we're a blast, and we have plenty of prizes for you. You try to pull bullshit (not just cheese things, that's different from cheating) and we stomp all over you.
>>
>>1325476
Not to mention new sub quests. I mean, in the future when we are huge. Sub quests will really help provide variety. Not to mention offer potential new pathways of entry.

Benevolent NPCs are fine, we could have, for example, rebellious slimes or greedy slimes who want loot too, etc. That's ok.

>Mary watches the group leave Ms. Bloops room and go into the other chamber.

>The Elf Boy looks around, clearly being the leader of the group.

"... This can't be this simple. Hold on guys, let me study this for a bit... I think."

"No need to think, Tali! Not when I can fly!" Gremlin shouts as she leaps across the pit. Flames flare from her hands and feet as she flies across it.

>When she gets near the end a panel suddenly leaps out and slaps into her, sending her flying back.

Ow... That looked painful.
Yeah, I think just about everyone's fallen for that.

>Mary watches as the Elf Boy looks at the rope carefully. He squints and stares at it.

"I have an idea guys..." He says.

>The Elf Boy opens a book and begins writing in it. He places one hand on the page and aims at the rope. A spell is cast and dries off the slime on that rope. He tells Eel to try it out.

>Eel slithers forward and leaps. She grabs the rope and swings across and lands safely.

"Ha! I knew it. It wanted us to fall into the moat." He runs and leaps across the moat as well, using the rope to cross.

>Gremlin does the same, landing safely on the other side.
>She runs up to the chest.

"Hey, guys! A chest! I call the loot!"

Oh god no.

>She flips open the chest. The mimic springs to life, grabs her, and begins eating her.

"AAAAAH HELP! THE LOOT IS EATING ME!"

>The others spring into action immediately. Elf Boy begins flinging fire spells at the mimic. The Eel wraps around the mimic and shocks him. Gremlin, in a panic, starts blasting the thing with fire.

>It is a bitter battle but eventually they win.

>The mimic drops and spews out its reward. 100 Gold.

"... Is that an alm..?" The Elf Boy asks as he picks up the gold.

>The group staggers to the next room.

Never let your guard down. That elf boy's got the smell of unusually crafty protagonist about him.
>>
>>1325522
Hm, well yeah, i think i see your point, we still need to have antagonists, and we had that untill now by having the adventurers raid the monster castle. but if we make the fight against jeff the overarcing theme there would be no story motivation to fight the slimes right?

Well we dont need to make the slimes the good guys as such, they are still monsters. but if you choose a dungeon run where jeff has broken loose or something then you fight corrupted slimes at the side of the other slimes.

just because they sit on an even bigger evil doesnt make the Monsters especially nice.
But we should keep in mind, not to make them too "good". (even if they are ridiculously cute)

Is there a way to check if they are insured. I am not seeing any note about that.
>>

Well we are an professional in charge of a place of "Adult" entertainment

So they do not qualify to be here and obviously snuck in but by allowing them to continue we end up taking responsibility

Okay, yeah. This is weird. We have to check this out like... Now. Something is off here.

>Mary has Ms. Bloops go up to the adventurers and tries to calm them down. She uses soft slime noises and headpats. She then takes Elf Boy by the arm and leads him out of the dungeon, with the Gremlin following close behind.

>She leads them both to the Cleric Plant, Ashley. He spreads his arms and welcomes them to the dungeon.

"Greetings," She says, "And welcome to the Slimecrown Citadel. Here you can rest and recuperate while you prepare for the challenges ahead. In order to- ... What? Oh, uhm... Sure thing, Boss."

>She waves a hand and brings Eel back from the dead.

"Eel! You're back!" Elf Boy runs up to her and hugs her tightly.

"I was... Yeah, that was weird..." She says, "I could see all of you but I couldn't talk. There were words in the sky... Spectator Mode, they said..."

>Cleric Plant smiles.

"Welcome to Slimecrown Citadel. As you can see, so long as you are within this dungeon death is merely a slap on the wrist. I will bring anyone back for a small small fee. To make it to the final boss you must overcome trials. Can you do it?"

"... I don't know." Tali says, looking at the group. "That was really scary... We came here to do a dungeon but that was kinda like... Super scary."

Okay so... It looks like they actually want to do a dungeon?
But what do I do? I don't wanna scare what looks like a buncha high-school students.

Also, call the Elf "Knife Ears." That's his nickname.

Alright, but if they are here for the dungeon. They are aware of the consequences, right?

We are a rather notorious dungeon. All the adventurers association members know about us. You are a part of the association right?

We can try scaling it down for you, but they may not enjoy the challenge levels.

Figure out exactly what they want and can do.

Also, they did earn tokens for bloops, after all. Explain the tokens, spa and reccomend the store if they can't heal.

Also figure out the deal about if they TPK. We will need to organize something if that happens.

Once all their lives are expended they have to leave the way they came - no loot!

Yeah, let's give these guys easy mode. I'm not sure how far I wanna take protecting them. We risk ruining the immersion completely if I just have them taken in by authorities.

But, like... Do they care about it? I can't tell. They clearly want to be in a dungeon but maybe they were thinking normal dungeons were a lot easier?

=================================

"I understand completely. However, death and resurrection is a normal part of life here. Did you not know this? Is this your first time in a dungeon? Or is that not true in the dungeons you're used to?"

"We've never had a dungeon like this before, no... This is new."

>He nods.

"We do offer an easier mode. Would you like to take it?"

".... Yeah, sure. I think we need that."

Alright. So you guys came up with some good ideas. Let's consolidate them all and make a more fun dungeon for these guys.

That still kills them at the end so we can get those runes.
>>
>>1326439
Basically full corporate damage control mode

>>1326452
Huh becoming a little unethical mary
>>
>>1326452

lily offer's fun word puzzles that really hurt to think about. the whole princess side quest, were each princess has something the other wants and the first item on the list is some slime jelly for lily's pbnj, so she gives a book she hasn't read in awhile so she gives to you to give to one of the other's or something. really go deep in the lore because it's easy mode (aka lore mode)
>>
>>1326452
MAKE US WHOLE
>>
>>1326452

Put them in a room with rotating pots for a "find the key challenge". Other than that, make the enemies more punch-and-bruise rather than stab-and-eviscerate
>>
>>1326479

>Nah just make them wear the cat ears from the catkinis and film the whole thing.
>>
>>1326452
If these guys are still uninsured and have issues. We should probably draft up some sort of contract so that we can send them back home after death/revive, but we are still privvy to runes/items.

I am still very concerned about them.

I also think Ruth's balls should be a little less harmful. Silly balls like String, Mud, Wood, as opposed to the usual stuff...
>>
>>1326439
Before we do anything like that we should probably make shure they have guardians and are under age before we just insult customers.

And yeah we run a business, so it would be nice to get something in return if they want to run.
>>
>>1326499
One occasional flaming ball, though. We DO want SOME challenge.
>>
>>1326452
well, just means curi is still going full power, but like, ruth doesn't use any of her murder balls. let's see how well they think they can slime.
>>
>>1326499

Yes on the contract idea, it works in case they all die.
>>
>>1326452
If you want to do a non-lethal game-over version, at least knock them out cold and reset the room by taking them back to the hub!
Also we still gotta advertise YUM! as part of our deal. AND CAN YOU GET RID OF THAT BLASTED WATERMARK ON OUR DUNGEON CAST PICTURE?
>>
>>1326499
>>1326510
Them going back is of no concern to us, since it'll resolve itself SOMEHOW. Probably when it's no longer April's Fools.
>>
>>1326452
If there is any way to alter rooms, maybe take out one fight room on the fly and do the following puzzle.

>Heroes in an absolutely pitch black room, save for maybe 2-3 light slimes and an iluminated chest with a key/treasure inside
>5-6 Shadow Slimes are lurking in the darkness...waiting...
>The light slimes act as roaming lookouts, trying to spot the heroes as they make their way towards the treasure chest
>they're attracted to noise so be quiet, and make sure you don't get spotted
>If the heroes are spotted by the light slimes, the shadow slimes swarm the hero and kick them out of the room
>If other heroes are still in the room, the door is locked and will remain locked until all party members have been spotted or a hero reaches the chest.
>Once the key has been claimed, the room is illuminated and the heroes can leave the room
>>
>>1326511
But this episode of Slime Spelunking has been brought to us by the letter Y(um)
>>
>>1326452
It seems that they're used to adventuring, but not used to dying. They know how to get around traps and fight monsters but they freak out when they suffer severe injuries.

Try and tone down the lethality of the challenges, but don't reduce the actual challenge too much. Have grappling tentacles instead of impaling spikes, have slimes that engulf and tickle them instead of exploding or burning, that sort of thing. Basically, instead of trying to kill them, try to capture them so you can steal their stuff.

We can probably leave the "game" rooms like the baseball challenge and the dancing challenge alone. For Slime Knight, we could replace his sword with a whip so he can ensnare them from a distance.

Also, let's make the rules for resurrection a bit more lenient. Let them pay Cleric Plant in advance for their next resurrection, and bring them back again if one of them manages to return to this room, but warn them that if they're all dead at the same time then they'll lose and you'll keep their equipment. But allow each of them to pick a single piece of equipment that you'll let them keep if they die.
>>
>>1326537
They can keep their underwear and any non magical clothes.

>>1326558
Probably a good idea.

Do we want to keep Lily and the Knight as a combat challange, we could make a riddle out of it.

I really should have written that better...
Okay, I'll just order him to stand down and.

>Reginald stabs the Elf Boy through the gut, showering the room in blood. He swings his blade and tosses the body aside.

Oh god.

>The Eel catches an orb and holds out her hands.

"We don't want to fight! We're sorry about that! We're friendly, really! So if you could just put the sword down and-!"

Oh, right.

"H-hey! We need to bring back our friend!" The Eel asks

"A-ah. I'm afraid you can not afford that... Uhm... I may be able to provide you one for free. I just have to ask my boss. Give me a moment..."

They are children, Mary. They aren't going to have much money. I'd honestly put aside the idea of profit, so far as they are concerned. At the same time, you aren't obliged to offer much non-renewable material reward. Instead, move to a token system and a different, smaller pool of items they can afford by beating challenges.

Resurrections will cost tokens going forward. So they have a play to win, win to play mechanic of dungeon exploration. If they run out, the adventurer contract sends them back with their lives intact (and maybe their dignity). They may lose their clothes, but they don't have many expensive items to lose in the first place.

Oh right, even the kid's necklace is sort of a person. The fact we haven't triggered raid mode on them is a mercy in itself.

>>
>>1327371

At least Ruth and Dancing Curi should be good for these guys. And they should love the spa.

At least these gu
>>
>>1327404
They definitely are. Lily just doesn't work for puzzles right now. Though she probably would if we had more clarity, with either Maids and Butlers showing up or a new minion attendant for her to speak up since Reginald isn't up to the task.

We will see how this combat goes, but I would expect that we should gently direct the Elf and his friends to Ruth, Curi and the Ice Elementals. Those are definitely more kid friendly...I mean, if they wamt combat they could go Rosalyn/Simon...but maybe only should fight Simon, as a training match, with Rosalyn as their teacher and using only Judgement and nothing else.

Meanwhile, been doing some digging for old puzzles, found a few to quote.

>a pitch black room full of dark slimes and a light slime, to get to the other side you need to protect the light slime from the dark slimes as she moves along the path.

>Large room with a tall ceiling
>There are five or six slimes of various types(Mud, Magma, Comfy, Gravity, Poison, and Classic that are on the rafters
>In the middle of the room there are various pipes that start as clear glass but become metal and hard to see
>These pipes are tangled up in a giant maze, ending in 10 pipes
>There are a few buckets strewn about the floor
>The slimes jump into the pipes as directed by the heroes
>The heroes have to figure out which pipe leads them to which end and catch them in a bucket.
>If they fail the slime slinks off to a lift that leads them back to the rafters and it repeats the process
>Don't get confused and accidentally blasted by slimes, young adventurer!
>Or do, because our Spa could always use extra gold from you getting cleaned up!

>Dark Room: Room is dark, lit only by Light slimes, filled with Dark Slime pits. Adventurers have to get through while being attacked by light slimes, but if they kill them, the light goes out.
>Platforming Room: Room with lots of Platforms over a huge pit. Adventurers have to avoid Archer and Gravity slimes who inhibit flying.
>Rhythm Memory challenge room: Where adventurers have to cross the room by stepping on tiles or pressing buttons that match Musics Slime's beat! The incorrect buttons summon explodeys, or worse!

>Have the floor full of switches that have some of them rigged to trigger an explodey underneath.
>It plays like actual minesweeper

>How about a room with a bunch of upside down pots? There is one with a key slime in it. The rest are all explodey slimes. They do rotations in various patterns trying to confuse the adventurers. Identify the right one three times to have the door opened. Guess wrong and a couple of explodey slimes detonate on you (making the next round easier).

Also agreed. Lily is great, but her puzzles just aren't great. It's not even always her attitude, they just seem...badly designed. We're going to need to make her a particular case to mull over. Might as well do so today since no run, maybe?

>>1328347
well that's funny. I'm studying for Game Art.
Unfortunately, bad habits and low self esteem is burning me out to the point where I'm considering on taking a break from pursuing my education.
>>
>>1328331
I keep on getting confused by this. I believe the agreement was that they would get tokens for catching our guy. Not gold. Partially because we're not rich enough to work with that yet.

>>1328335
>>1328339
>>1328347
Agreed. The biggest failing we have had with any Lily puzzles has been clarity. The tricky thing is, these are really simple puzzles so this should not cause any issues, however I think the easiest solution is telling the players organically through dungeon interaction.

As it currently stands, I think we have an easy way of doing this. We have butlers and maids, and they love to talk.

You could use them to relay basic information i.e: Lily has been aflicted with a malady, and Reginald has been in hysterics.

Now with enough fluff you can infer their relationship so that people can start piecing together that RSK=Loves Lily, and also infer something like Sleeping Princess=Wake up with true love's kiss.

This hint system is something we can naturally include in as lore. It rewards attentiveness and interaction with/to the castle staff. And keeps up with the flavour we have set in stone with little trouble.

Now the other issue with this puzzle that I think could be addressed. Its a great puzzle, but its too early. Its a puzzle that is better served the deeper into the citadel/higher up the castle you go.

Its not really something we can fix until the YUM deal and adventurer money comes in, of course. But we should keep this in mind too. Spacing is important. Especially if, in the future, this puzzle is used in future iterations. Having a puzzle and a combat variant is a smart investment.

Also, we may still get our run. I kind of think a portion of the stream watchers are also MAQ/Audit watchers...you never know
>>
>>1328415
one thing I don't like about the YUM deal is the blatant watermarking on the character cast picture. If only they could downsize that and shove it into a corner...
>>
>>1328419
I understand your concern, but I don't think you need worry about that so much. Given that it is not an updated cast page (No Time slime, no upgraded Maid/Butler, no upgraded Dungeoneer, no upgraded Healer Plant, not to mention no name changes) I don't think you will see this when it matters.

AKA, its part of the April Fools Joke. And we have more important aspects we can tackle instead.

>>1328509

i think the biggest problem this time was people voting to make lily do the kiss puzzle, and then turning around and telling tali to do the exact wrong thing, instead of something tangentially wrong.

When I was looking through there threads for the runes for the pastebin,
>>1325383

Larro, is there a reason for that or did you just forget about it?
>>
>>1328705
it was dropped in favor of the metal rune.
>>
>>1328415
Biggest point of failure is that Lily refuses to follow the script and be a team player
>>
>>1328932
that's why Lily needs to get laid. The faster she gets lovey dovey with Reginald, the better off the dungeon will be.
>>
>>1328932
That can be good and bad. Just means her challenge needs to be unique. Something that plays to her personality and strengths. Question is, how?
>>
I think the RSK/SP fight is really interesting, since you have to play the social aspect very carefully to avoid merging or them going beserk. If you ignore the social aspect, you can still win, it's just harder.
>>
>>1329040
There can be no challenge other than battles if she doesn't follow the script

You got to put your foot down on employee bad behavior
>>
>>1328932
That one is a little harsh, at least for today. She followed the script perfectly today, which is a little unusual for non puzzle challenges involving her.

That and her only real challenge otherwise is remembering the script for her relations with RSK and the world. Which we are working towards.

>>1329040
I would argue that this challenge is fine. Just needs some tweeking. Its not in as bad of shape as "make Lily pull the lever"
>>
>>1329040
>>1329160
I think the key element where Lily was very cooperative in the challenges is where Reginald is personally protective of the slime princess.

The first miniboss fight against Muscle Wizard had Lily being very co-operative with Mary because it involved Lily piggyback riding Reginald's back and providing support like Lorian and Lothric.
>>
>>1328415

>>
>>1327193
They have strange magic.
Why not have them turn things into other, new, rune-giving things as payment?

Then you get all the runes even if they chicken out and leave. I mean, look at that elf, do you really think he's not going to bolt the instant he realizes he's dead?
>>
So I took a walk to mull this over and here's what I've thought up.

What we got wrong in the previous fights is that we've put Reginald in the spotlight first and focused on the fight aspect instead of the social aspect with the nobility and such, this led to raid parties ganking RSK to skip to second stage (the part where Lily and RSK merge) or adventurers instantly gunning for Lily in hopes to end the fight altogether.

What we should do instead is put Lily as the focus. Lily likes the attention as the firstborn and what she likes more are the moments where Reginald swoops in to save her like a slimeknight in shining slime.

Here's what I'm proposing:
>Adventurers will enter the room and find Lily on the chair center stage with Reginald standing close by just behind the princess.
>This sets up emphasis on the initial challenge having a social aspect with the threat of a fierce fight behind it should adventurers break the social rule of conversing with nobility.
>Lily will set up a challenge for adventurers which she will ask to the adventurers. If they succeed, they get a key.
>Lily will use her magic to have adventurers dodging slime geysers and ice balls cast at her leisure and with wizard slimes and squire slimes supporting her for five minutes with Reginald entering the fray 3 minutes in.
>Adventurers at this stage may attack the wizard slimes, squire slimes, and even kill Reginald without repercussion.
>The challenge is a "sheath your sword" social challenge. Adventurers will be presented with the option to break the social code and take a pot-shot at Lily who is casting all of these spells, or they can endure the onslaught and wait for Lily to become exhausted at the five minute mark.
>if an adventurer somehow survives the whole five minutes without taking a pot-shot at Lily, Lily will stop and congratulate them for surviving and providing her wonderful entertainment. If the adventurers somehow get a kill on Reginald, she will be very impressed and give them 1 piece of loot from either Lily's or RSK's loot table determined at random. Don't worry about Reginald, Lily will Resurrect Reginald at the end of the challenge.
>if they do take a pot-shot at Lily, everything stops and adventurers face RSK's wrath. This starts the Miniboss fight where RSK fights the adventurers and Lily supports Reginald Lorian&Lothric style. This is the stage where adventurers can choose to either kill RSK first and fight Lily Queen, or kill Lily first and face The Royal Right Hand. Upon their death they get the key and loot.
>>
I've been thinking about making a 3 room Yum Run consisting of.
Room 1. A fight with a number of 3 Rune monsters equal to half the party size rounded up.
Room 2. A fight with a number of Candy Slimes equal to one and a half times the party size rounded up.
Room 3. A mini boss.
One room would also contain Off Brand the candy mimic.
This might be the perfect time for a test run.
Also set them on Ruth, she would enjoy a game.
>>
>>1328924
Do you know where that's stated?
Because the post where we got the armor rune also has us getting metal runes for the first time.
>>
>>1330058
From first thread when Mary sorts through the items. I'll quote it for you:
>Mary sorts through the items. She sets all of them save for the breastplate aside. She casts her Calculate spell on the breastplate and find that it's worth 1 Metal Rune, 5 Mana, or 60 Gold. It also has a small chance of becoming an armor rune. Mary decides to convert it into gold and turns the rest of the items into runes.

>She gains metal runes, sword runes, and even a rare armor rune.

Hmm... We didn't get much in terms of treasure but we have quite a few interesting runes now. I think we can have a bit of experimentation...

>Mary combines the Fancy, Water, Sword, and Metal runes together. The four swirly together in the demon portal and out pops...!

>Another slime.

>However, this one is actually quite powerful. Backed by four runes it has become the Royal Slime Knight! A fighter of great skill, if it's armor is broken it can still fight on in it's slime form. However, this enemy counts as a Miniboss and can no be placed in a normal room.

>She also tries fusing two water runes but this time making something that isn't a slime. An Ice Elemental appears before her.

So we have quite a bit of control over what we make. Two water runes can make a big slime but it can also make other things that do with a lot of water...

"Alright, bring the boy back." Mary orders Cleric Plant.

>Elf Boy is revived and at the same time the Eel makes quick work of Reginald, but not without some damage to herself.

>Or, at least, her hair.
>Their efforts are rewarded with a key.

They only need two more to get to Curi.

>The Eel, who looks like she's in charge now, takes the group to the cafe for a moment of relaxation.

>Demonologist walks up to Mary, a bunch of papers in her hand.

"Mary, Boss, it looks like they intend to go tot he left. If they do they'll get the two keys needed to continue. I was wondering what we should do for Ruth's batting cage, So You Think You Can Slime, and the final battle against the monk slime?"
>>
>>1333726
Make them more kid friendly, I guess?
>>
>>1333726

Dancing is fine as is. Batting cage should avoid high-grade kill shot. Monk slime should kind of do the Zenyatta thing and throw hovering orbs at them that they can knock back for damage (using bat-like weapons in the room).

Feel free to kill them all on the final boss, but have him do so by knocking them into the comfy pits that will be below him.
>>
>>1333726
Well for the batting cage, I think we should minimize the damages, at least a little. Instead of the usualy arsenal. More gag balls like string, slime and mud. As for balls that could do damage, look to wood balls and the occasional fire ball. Gravity balls to keep them honest. But that should be it.

So You Think You Can Slime should be simple. I think a co-ordinated cheerleading routine that emphasizes all three members would be great.

Monk, maybe he should focus on one member at a time, that way the others could use more teamwork to help...the puzzle to activate monk slime should be unchanged.
>>
>>1333726
for Ruth's batting cage: use non-lethal balls and balls that only give them status effects. Comfy balls, Time-balls, Air balls, and lob them a golden ball as encouraging bait to play catcher/pitcher with Ruth. Have at least one of them get pre-occupied with Ruth while the others go.

For So you think you can Slime, don't try to punish them with the tentacles of rhythmic death. Go for a pop-song from Magical Girl Cleaver.

Monk: Have Monk slime aim for pressure points and paralyze them. And instead of fighting to the death, make it a challenge like Hunter x Hunter where they have to steal a rare golden fancy baseball from Monk Slime who is the Grandmaster of Slime-fu. Steal the ball and you get a key. See video reference at 2:20 onwards : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4njT2-J3ix4

>Mary lowers the difficulty of the next few rooms tremendously.
>The batting room has most of the more lethal balls removed.

>Ruth, however, does not seem to understand the purpose of less lethality and continues firing the balls with tremendous force.
>The Elf Boy erects a magical barrier quickly. The balls slam into the barrier, each sounding off with a terrible thud before dropping to the floor.

"I'm not sure how long I can keep this up! These are hitting really hard!"

"Just give me a bit!" Eel says as she charges towards the key at the end of the hallway.

>The Elf Boy has to run to keep up with her her. The baseballs never stop but he does his best to keep up the barrier.

>Eel reaches the key just as a ball smashes through the barrier and beams the elf boy in the head.

"Got it!"
=======================================

>The next room has the team working together to dance their hearts out. This is the one they have the least problems with. Eel and Gremlim seem to be having a blast.

>Elf boy is still recovering from the baseball.

>The final room has them avoiding the monk slime. He's already hit and paralyzed Tali, taking him out early. The other two dodge his attacks with Eel blasting him away with electricity.

>It takes a moment but the monk slime reforms and continues the attack.

"We did it!"

>The monk stops. The group has all three keys. Demonologist approaches Mary.

"I know," Mary says, "It's time for Curi."

What to do..."
>>
>>1333964
First revival was free because they were scared, sure. The remainder of the lives system will cost them that dosh we don't actually have to give out.

Curi should focus on a steady stream of minons, not performing direct attacks until she's basically down to four-slime levels of reserves. That's a lot of minions, but it's taking it nice and slow. And then it kills them anyway because endurance trial and a not-so-miniboss. Also, subtly focus on knocking out that weak-looking elf boy first, then wasting the eel's electric attack, and the last adventurer will practically kill themselves so there's no worry.
>>
>>1333964
I think one of the solutions for this is simple.

Don't give them final mode Curi. Ease up on her 'incubation' form, and when they beat that, have her crack to the ground, sweat vengeance, and vanish somewhere. Lets em know they WERE ON EASY, and if they want the real deal, they're going to have to come back and step their game up. You don't get the full experience on easy mode- it's just not done.

(Basically in case I got the number of forms wrong, Easy Mode Curi should have one less form than Normal Mode, and she should be REPELLED, not defeated.
>>
>>1333997
Well. IF they win, not WHEN.

Sorry. Still makes it fair if overwhelming, I think.
>>
>>1333964

Give them a slow start, lots of low level minions, as the fight continues, the room fills with water. That water then starts turning comfy.
>>
>>1333964
Man that elf boy is getting no luck here...poor little fellah...

Alright I guess the big thing to do is much like before we do it in waves.

>Curi summons her slime children and they start to dance along the music, the heroes have to duck and weave past the waves of the various slimes or else they will be dragged over to Curi, where they she clones them, and does some damage. If they get close enough to her, they will be able to attack one of her cores.
>Second part they stop dancing, and start swarming, doing damage to the heroes. Again the catch is to get close and attack the other core.
>Third part, the slimes disappear, and Curi walks about with long stretching attacks, and occasionally casting easy to spot geysers.
>>
>>1333964
the plan was to kill them at the end anyway, murder time. send them back with a note "better luck next time"
>>
>>1333997

This sounds okay.
>>
>>1333964
Make this a "FIND THE RIGHT CURI" boss fight. Also send appropriate element-type advantage slimes against the adventurers.
>>
>>1333964
Can't Curi make weaker copies of herself like what we have in the So you think you can slime challenge? Can't the adventurers fight one of those?
>>
>>1333964

>>1333964
guys, they're taking Elf boy to the spa. We have some time to refine our strategy. Elf boy is definitely a magical powerhouse in that party. but he is susceptible to one thing. Lewds. Engulf elf boy and molest him. Then make a copy of elf boy and set the mimic against the party.
>>
>>1334052
That only works for magical girls against other magical girls.
And sometimes magical boys.

Mary, give them a chance to earn some gifts to take with them from the spa in some zero stakes games. Stone skipping, guess the pot, or a quiz game. They are going to die, but we can give them some parting presents first (including some promotional flyers encouraging them to come back and bring friends)

Okay... I think I have a good idea for what I wanna do with her now.
This won't be easy on them, but really... They did break into my dungeon.

So, yeah.

Fair's fair.

I-

"Excuse me, boss." The Dungeoneer approaches her. "Hey, so I had this really great idea. Totally original. You know how these kids are poor and probably gonna die? Well, I borrowed some mana from the pool and crafted these!"

>She displays some pens.

"They're prizes and won't leave their inventory when they die. We can give it to them as a little gift for completing some kinda trial. In the spa.

I'll give it to them personally. Whattya think?"
>>
>>1334249
What's the catch? There has to be a catch. Make it so there is a catch.
>>
>>1334249

That sounds like a good idea. They're good kids and it doesn't cost us anything. Some brainy puzzles for the shrimpy mage demon would probably give her something to do, and not murder the elf again.

What do they DO?

>>
>>1334386
>>1334379

Also, this. We want to make the dungeon great again, too. We want to take care of everyone. But to do that, we have to actually manage our resources carefully.

All our interactions with Dungeoneer amount to

>"BOSS! BOSS! BOSS! I DID THING!"
>"FUCK YOU! STOP BEING CREATIVE!"
>"O-oh..."

It just feels like we keep beating down on a family member. And it's really awkward to watch. I just want us to let her succeed. And we keep stifling her.

>>1334379
In short, I approve.
>>
How much mana did we have, how much do we generate, what's the max, and how much did she use up total?

Because if she used 6 out of 300, it's fine, but if we get 1 mana per thread and it maxes out at 20, it's not fine.
>>
>>1334627
Mana is actually whatever we want it to be really, as of the most recent tally, we had 21.

Mana can be readily attained by using the runes we have, or turning items into mana. We have not done so in a very long while though, as we've been very rune happy and trying to build monsters instead. Now that we have a means to do it, spending 6 mana should be fine for now. We just have to make attempts to replenish later. That's all.
>>
>>1334640
If it's 1 mana per rune, that was 6 runes worth. So no, it's not necessarily fine.
>>
>>1334615
>>1334524

I HAVE AN IDEA.

Some people might not like it because it could be viewed off the jump as...there's a term for it, but I forget it at the moment. Anyway, it's not just letting them get away with it- it's given me an idea!

And the idea is thus:

We set aside a few runes and a little mana EXPLICITLY for 'experimentation' purposes. Kinda like a community bank of sorts. Dungoneer or Demonologist or Archivist or whoever can access this little cache of ruins or whatnot for the explicit purpose of trying random shit out and coming up with ideas we probably wouldn't have ourselves. Yes, it'd require a bit more than what we have NOW, but I feel like we'll be in a place shortly that would permit such a cache to be built. It'd foster creativity, get around the permission issue (since it's blanket so long as it's out of THAT SPECIFIC CACHE), and in desperate times possibly even allow us a nice little 'rainy day/emergency supply' set in case something goes cockeyed.

I have further ideas for how to arrange said cache, but I'm just going to throw out the base idea first. So, thoughts?

Hello, nice quest you having there.

I just wanted to ask where I can steal the art, because it really good.
>>
>>1334666
Like an allowance? Every week we give them some runes to spend on things they might want. And if they want something super expensive then they'll have to save up for it.
>>
>>1334666
Sounds good, but I'd say to make it per-employee. That way we don't have to worry about one of them hogging all the allotment and leaving the other two in the same position as before.
>>
>>1334655
Runes are 1 for 1, but items can be a differnet depending on the types of items, etc etc.

We nuked the old dungeon of its contents and got 36 mana and we've had much higher than that after a few runs. So I mean, we can let this slide. That and rune generation is going to be going at a much faster rate. After all we just got a slime spawning room that generates runes at 1.5x speed.

I implore people to please not reprimand Dungeonner like this...it's really not going to help team morale to have an employee so down in the dumps.

>>1334666
There is a lot of potential in this. I mean, they're kind of unpaid interns, so giving them something akin to a pay isn't a terrible idea.

And maybe...JUST MAYBE...it would get some anon's off of Dungeoneer's back.
>>
>>1334679

Dude. We aren't crucifying her. We're literally saying. "Hey, good initiative. Ask next time." Any more gutless than that, and we'll need to slum it with some sea cucumbers.
>>
>>1334672
>>1334675
>>1334679

I had been thinking just one big pool, but I'm certainly not adverse to giving them all their own 'allowance'.

Just with the single caveat: we reserve the right to pull from their rune pools at any time should we deem the dungeon needs a rune that is not in our general bank but is in theirs.
>>
>>1334679
>6 runes for spycam pens
No.
>>
>>1334698
I'm pretty sure you can get mana from things other than runes.
>>
>>1334383
Yeah I really don't think this is worth getting mad about.
>>
>>1334692
I dunno, maybe I've just been bummed out with the reaction to her first move and then this time she does it, and I already see some anon's calling for heads or saying things like 'second strike'

That and we've bullied her for things like her outfit ideas, or restricting her from making monsters herself, which is kind of one of her major jobs.

Sorry if I sound defensive, but I just think we're caging the songbird, so to speak.

>>1334698
I don't think she ever said they were spycam pens, for one, just simple novelty items, which is fine in and of itself.

Also >>1334701 is correct. We can get more from other items too. Not just runes.
>>
>>1334697
I'm more inclined for the pool, at least to try it out. I mean, there are certain things that certain staff members will need more than others anyways. If we really need to go into an allowance, then we can get to that later, and cater it to their specific needs.

That just means you can get runes more efficiently if you don't need any new ones.

5% per resident employee sounds fair. That is, intelligent staff each are awarded 5% of total dungeon output as concerns runes. This might extend to Curi and Alex to make for 30% total given to employees for their own, discretionary projects.
>>
>>1334748
Maybe not 20%...15% seems pretty fair though. That's a lot of gold/mana/runes to still play with, especially as we get bigger and bigger.

I mean the YUM deal will help out with external asthetics, but I kind of want to beautify our dungeon a bit, not to mention the fact that we have the following to look forward to

>Archiver II- Cost of conversion to opposite runes dropped to 1. New runes can be created randomly by destroying two runes. G- 9000. Price drops by 200 for each rune known.
(Negligible, we don't have to worry about this one, we're almost there)
>Demonologist III- Price to create demons dropped by 1 rune. 5 rune demons will cost 4, 3 will cost 2, etc. Demons can go on Expeditions to retrieve material for the dungeon if they are 3 runes or higher. Higher runed demons bring back greater rewards. G- 4000

>Dungeoneer III- Allows for the creation of 7 rune monsters. Can alter the runes in a demon once, only. Allows Final Boss rooms to contain 6 rune monsters. Allows Extra Boss runes to contain 7 rune monsters. G-5000

>The Chef II- Can host Parties. Each party greatly increases morale and will add a multiplier of gold to the next dungeon done. Parties can only be held when a dungeon run is not being done. G-1000

>The Carpenter II- Allows for the creation of a second dungeon or added floor. G-3000
Y'all want your tower, it's going to take some gold

And then there is things like the royal gardens, the possible town area for the citadel, I want fake barracks, salamander stables, some neat traps, and items to give our heroes.

Not to mention we need to actually have reserves to, you know, give heroes if they should, perish the though, win the dungeon.

Nah man

But you know what the best expedition would be?

A fully equipped party of 5-rune versions of Sophie, Mirelle, Rosa and Lily

You have Support/DOTS Mage, Tank/DPS, Ranged, and Burst Mage

If you wanted, we could add either Simon or Reginald so that the balance is a bit more even

>Simon and Lily go adventuring
>Reginald/Rosalyn spend the entire time pacing nervously and fumbling at their job...for reasons...
>>
>>1334794

No, anon. You see, the demon realm actually supports monsters of higher rune count better, and that's what we would be sending him through. Albeit, we couldn't control him, but having a nuke we can point at our enemy sounds fun.

"Sure, go ahead."

>Mary gives permission then goes back to thinking.

I think we can afford a 20% loss in runes if it means employee morale stays up. Not only that but they may be able to come up with stuff we wouldn't be able to. That would be really nice.

I can only imagine what kinda things Demonologist would come up with.

This is definitely something we can put into work as soon as we have a nice supply of runes. However, we still need to limit how many runes goes to each person, lest there be fighting among them.

I could see Dungeoneer hogging all the runes.

>Mary's monitor pings. It looks like they're at the final room.

Oh boy. This should be fun.

=================================
>The group enters the final chamber and is greeted by...

<Curi, Mother of Slimes>

"Greetings and welcome to my chambers, children. Though it saddens me to hear that you reached me so easily... Not by skill but by necessity.

Either way... You will not obtain an easy victory from me. I am the last barrier between the castle and the lovely princesses. And, of course... That -thing-."

"Thing?"

>Curi shakes her head.

"It doesn't matter. You'll never reach it anyway. You will not get past me."

"We'll see about that!" The Eel shouts and fires lightning at the slime.

>She gathers the purest water and surrounds her core with a solid block of ice. The lightning deals little damage, not even remotely enough to damage it.

"That won't work on me!" Curi says as she spreads her arms. Copies of herself emerge from the throne. "Go! Destroy them!"

>The clones flank the group and attack from both sides. One of the clones just sort of... Hovers in the air.

>Eel is struck by the other clone, which has since turned into a mass of slime, and is sent sprawling backwards.

Don't just tell Curi about it. It's not one of her boss abilities, so it wouldn't be fair. Although we could have her summon a minion with detection capabilities. Choose one with senses that elves don't have; an illusionist can't fool your senses if they don't know how they work.

If the illusion is a girl, then the elf might be hiding his gender from his friends. If you ever meet them face-to-face, make sure to call him a girl so that you don't blow his cover.

On another note, apparently your glasses let you see through deceptions without even noticing they're there. That could be inconvenient in several situations.
>>
>>1337032
Nah, I agree. It might be interesting to see what happens.
>>
>>1337003
That's legit. Don't interfere. If the dungeon master called out all illusions then nobody with illusion magic could run the dungeon.
>>
Like it was said earlier, even if they defeat her, they're not actually going to defeat her. She should be able to run away. They don't get that kind of total Victory without playing on normal mode.
>>
>>1337003
Tell Curi to use AoE attacks and danmaku patterns

>>1337003
What the hell is up with that elf's mouth? It's like some kind of fish mouth.

Psion slimes deployed.
I know this may not seem fair but... Again, they did just teleport into my dungeon.

>Gremlin casts an ice spell on the slime holding... Well, nothing. It doesn't do anything.

>Curi, still in control of the ice ball, lifts it up and slams it down on the Eel, flattening her.

Wow they are really not doing well.

"You can not hope to win, tiny creature." Curi says. "I wi-"

>Curi feels one of her cores jiggle and lift into the air.
>She looks at it right before it's crushed into nothing.

"What!?"

Where are those Psion Slimes!?
Oh, there we go! Finally!

>A bunch of slimes wearing helmets appear and begin removing the Elf Boy's powerful illusion spell.
>Curi has recovered by now. She sends a slime clone at the Gremlin, thinking she was the one who cast the spell.

No! Wrong person!

>The Gremlin throws an orb at the real Elf Boy.
>It hits him in the back of the head.

>She's taken out by a chunk of slime.

>The Elf Boy casts a spell, sending a massive bolt down and hitting the dungeon.
>It tears through the building, straight to the bottom.

>When the smoke clears Mary can see straight through to the bottom.

>Into the basement.

Ooooooooh fuck....

>There is a rumbling sound.
>>

UNLEASH JEFFREY
IT'S TIME!
>>
>>1337542
This is when we hit the SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN button.

Do we have such a button?
>>
>>1337542
Oh my god...if we can do anything to seal it to protect the rest of the dungeon, now would be an excellent time to use it...

Also poor fucking Curi...reforming again is going to suck...I just hope she's okay...

Look on the bright side Mary.
I can't think of what the bright side is at this moment, but I'm sure there is one.

HOPEFULLY THEY'LL BE ABLE TO COVER THE COST.

>>1337542
Oh shit. Have Curi try to move the battle to other areas of the floor while we try to figure out how to repair the floor as fast as possible.

Curi's been vaporized, anon. Our heaviest hitter's out.

That said:

Technically, Slime Queen Lily is our heaviest hitter. However, I'm not 100% sure what has happened to Slime Knight, that part confused me a bit and I'm not sure if he's still in play.

Oh, but before we freak out let the thing kill the remaining adventurer first. If we do make it out alive, let's try and get SOMETHING good out of it.

Mary, you have to give Elf Boy the Crown. Only with our support can he have enough magical power to beat Lucy.
>>
>>1337803
No, Mary and the Elf Boy need to throw their items at Jeffery at the same time. Cross the streams!

The thing can't see through his illusions...

"Everyone! Get that boy into my office! I don't care how you do it, just do it!"

>Mary is ready to kidnap the boy if need be but she is lucky.
>He bumps right into cleric plant as he flees the thing.

"Sir! I need you to come with me, quickly!"

>She grabs his hand and leads him through the dungeon, through secret doors he would never had noticed on his own.

>And soon he finds himself in a comfortable room, one for work. Not pleasure.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

"Hello." She says. "Welcome, Adventurer. ... I normally don't do this but I need your help."

I think his illusions might be able to get us to seal that thing back up. We just need to have it lured back into the basement and then I can have the floor rebuilt. It will cost me a small amount of gold...

But I think we can all agree it is worth it.

Now, what should we tell him to use? What does that thing even like? Meat?
>>
>>1338082
It likes other adventurers. Have him illusion one going through the entrance to the basement.
>>
>>1338082
Mary, to pull this off you need to give the Elf your crown. It'll totally give him double his normal power and better chance to seal lucy away.

Also, see if he'll agree to help in exchange for his choice of loot. He seems like a cowardly elf.
>>

Her. CARRYING meat. I have to imagine Jeffery would want another crack at her after she tore his tentacle off.

Lucy seems less motivated by like than hate. Ergo, give it an enemy to focus on. It seemed to take hefty notice of the dragon. Just have it 'burst up' through the floor. Use that distraction to bring it down while camoflauging the floor above to give the carpenter safety.
>>
>>1338099
That's not true. She keeps trying to give everyone hugs.
>>
>>1338082
Well, you could start by telling him your plan. He's got more experience with his illusion magic than you do. He'll be able to come up with something if he has enough information.

We don't actually know for sure what that thing might want, anyway. We just know it attacks any adventurers it sees.

What are you talking about Mary? In the past, dead adventurers have been left dead and we got their runes. IE Warrior died on an otherwise successful run and we got her Mithral Runes.

So, no, you are totally getting an undine rune, aelor rune, lightning rune, and maybe a magic rune. Rejoice!

But yeah, we should give those kids a good reward. Maybe a mini slime, some tokens, and a few items.

This, if possible.

You should reward them with murder. I don't even think they know reviews, and if they did, the runes would still be worth it.

See you next year!
>>
Hey.

I just finished reading the archives last night.

This is the third quest I've read and it's real neat.

I hope next time I'll be available to participate.

I'm excited to play with new runes soon, especially aqua.

If we build an extra boss room, we can add another water tune to Curi and put her there.

It'd be a good idea to create a two-tune slime of every element(that isn't opposite like fire or oil), so that Curie can have access to all sorts of different copy summons during her fights.

I wanna see prince and paladin combine.

Captain slime doesn't have any cutie to protect. Maybe the junior princesses?

I wonder if water+glass+aqua would make an aquarium slime? Maybe add fancy?

I bet gravity slimes, or a very large gravity slime, could let us make a "Mario galaxy" room.

We could advertise a special event where 9 adventurers straight-up just play baseball against a lineup of slimes. Paladin could umpire because of the law rune.

If we start looking at diversifying into other monster types, what would you guys want to see? I'm thinking skeletons or golems.

I want to see a miniboss room with Headbutler and Headmistress.

I want to see a room where slimes stick to the curling and drip down in ambush.
>>
>>1339903
slimes are just fancy elementals.
get them elementals up in there.
a minigame with the head butler/mistress would be pretty fun. maby a guessing game. or charades
>>
>>1340210
Maybe the adventurers have the opportunity to eat a healing meal, but if they break the etiquette rules three times, then the heads attack?

We need to send some lawyer slimes over to our old boss.

I want to put fish monsters inside our slimes.

I wonder what would happen if the light and dark slimes fused? Equinox slime? I love fusions.
>>
>>1340299
>Piranha filled slime.
>Electric eel filled slime.
>Box jelly filled slime.
Yes please
>>
>>1341669
Imagine a room full of water/water slimes, but there are Pirranah and Electric eels and cookie cutter sharks leaping from slime to slime to do hit-and-run attacks on the adventurers. They can either focus the slimes first to landlock the fish or focus the fish to take the bite away from the slimes.

Also, I've been thinking about what Thief said in his last review, that he wanted something for sneaky types. I was thinking maybe a room with a ninja slime or two(water+sword+darkness?) that had a bunch of barrels in it. Black barrels would contain darkness slimes and white barrels would contain light slimes. The ninja would try to gain an advantage by releasing darkness slimes and killing light slimes, darkening the room. Most adventurers would release and protect light slimes so they could see, but thieves and rouges could compete even in totally dark rooms.
>>
>>1339100

Lamb is a copycat who does not even run his quest well.
>>
I've been thinking about what Curi's title will become as we add more water runes to her. Already we can add one and put her in an extra boss room. For example,-

Curi, the:

Matriarch of slimes(6)
Empress of (7)
Progenitor(8)
Aspect of Slime(9)
World-Slime(10)
Primordial Sea(11)
Goddess of Goo(12)

That might seem like a lot of runes but we're already halfway there. Curi's going to need to get strong in order to fight Jeremy anyways.
>>
>>1342525
I thought there was a hard cap of 7 runes?
>>
>>1342642
I'm guessing as we continue to unlock higher tiers of dungeon constructs, that'll go up. Jeremy was created somehow, after all.

And 7 was supposed to be empress of slimecrown.
>>

Have I mentioned how great slimes are?
>>
So I was thinking to myself "what sort of transportation would a slime kingdom have?"

Imagine a hollow glass horse that they can just... pour themselves into and out of. It should only take glass+container.

It'd let slimes cover large amounts of ground quickly. I feel it'd really flesh out the slime town. In combat, they'd make good kamikaze units that deliver slimes into melee by shattering themselves up against the heroes, but the heroes could also see inside and prepare for what type of slime is inside.
>>
>>1344621
We need a comic of Demonologist next to a completely immobile glass horse with Ms. Bloops face pressed up against the inside, with Mary asking "any how exactly did you think this would work?".
>>
>>1344825
On second thoughts, that seems more like a Dungeoneer thing.
>>
>>1344825
The mimic is just a single container rune. I don't see why it wouldn't move.
>>
>>1345021

Add a fire rune so it sets people on fire when they open the chest. Or in Raid more, an explosion Rune. Give a reason for parties to have a Thief/Rogue.
>>
So, do we want to put another water rune on Curi and put her in an extra boss room? If so, who should be the new boss? Oilivia?

Also, the armor type should be listed as a rune.

Also, I'd like to take advantage of the chef's offer to turn 50-G into rune-able materials. I'd like to try to get a bone, blood, and muscle rune that way. Maybe some others too, like bird, beast, or lizard?

On a less mechanical note, I'm really liking our growing cast of adventurers. Honestly I think most of the time I'm rooting for them.

Also, I think we should make the healer plant an optional miniboss with a cool drop. Maybe a healing item? Like a flower that you tuck behind your ear and it passively restores hp?

I'd like to get to see headbutler and headmistress do more.

A sneaky room of some description with light and dark slimed would be cool too.

We need that String/Dark/Poison/Silence spider that hides in the walls and only comes out in raid mode to ambush adventurers who wander off on their own.

That's not a slime.

Actually, that's probably what the hero would think too, and that'd be a pretty cool surprise.

Still, it should probably be something that makes sense existing in slimecrown. Maybe an invisible gelatinous cube? Or maybe something electric, so it would make sense that the guard haven't been able to deal with it? Or something glass?

Bugs always get into the walls. You are surrounded by thousands of them right now, and you don't even know it. Just say "it never comes out when strong slimes are around, retreats immediately if they show up, and no one's been able to find its nest".

Jesus Christ how horrifying.

It'd make a good way to resolve the lily/Simon encounters peacefully. I'll give you the key for the head of the spider, which preys upon the weak and isolated.

They mostly come at night. Mostly.

Simon gives the adventurers a "spider charm" or a bottle of pheremones or something to lure it out?

Or if you've got a good enough rogue, you can find its nest on your own and take the treasure it's collected.

And come to think of it, that gives me an idea for an interesting 3-rune enemy...

We've established that slimes can split, right? Let's use Water/Dark/Sword (or maybe Water/Water/Dark) to create something that specializes in that: a Ninja Slime. Not very strong, but fast, and can keep spawning clones until you find the real one and destroy its core.

We could potentially give it disguise abilities too, which opens up a lot of opportunities - Mary could use it as a body double when dealing with people who seem dangerous, as an understudy for Lily when she needs to make speeches or record PVs, or as part of the classic "monster pretends to be a friendly in distress" gambit.

Yeah, I gave my ninja idea here >>1342236. I wonder if we can get an illusion rune?

Ninja slimes to go with the fan slime? Maybe as her bodyguards hidden in the shadows?

How about a Samurai slime that came from the far east to get her back because she is her missing sister?

Yes the samurai is a girl slime and she loses pieces of armor the more damage she gets.

Actually, I was thinking of having a ninja slime specifically to fight Ronin.

But now that I think of it, having a Slime summoned of your class should be, like, a 100 token reward.
