New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.
>>
>>1347683
Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

[===Academy News===]
Sign-ups for the Academy Transfer program is now open to all students. Please be aware that reputation and contacts gained in Amsterdam will not be carried over to Madrid. Sign-ups will close at the end of turn 113.

The News is a buzzed with a string of bizarre assaults. People report being surprised and attacked by a Berserking Cardboard wearing monster. Most victims were able to flee the scene with terrible claw and teeth marks. However one elderly woman had a lethal heart attack after her balcony was invaded by the monster. At this time, Hunters have been dispatched to track this menace down before any more lost of life is suffered.

A string of accidents involving electricity is leaving the staff perplexed. Foul play is suspected. Students are advised to stay alert whenever they use an electrical device, and to report any suspicious events to the school janitor.

>There will also be an inter-academy tournament will also be held soon. (Turn 120) We wish you the best of luck. For Madrid!

> [Damn Raccoons] You now have a hatred of Raccoons.
You drink another vial and now you feel more normal. The hunger fades away to reveal crystal clear focus. The thrill of the kill might not be in these bottles, but they do the job. Maybe you should ask Vlad for some more blood later on.

Using your beacon you found a small pond inside the Academy that is strongly connected to the Elemental Plane of Water. For the sake of convenience, you decide to use this pond instead of trying to search for a bigger plane that could be connected to other kinds of more dangerous Elemental Planes like a Deep Ocean plane. Who knows what might be summoned from one of those things.

You set up everything for a Water Elemental summoning ritual and from the pond she emerges majestically. By its anatomy, you can tell she’s a female Water Elemental of the Slime kind. She looks around confused and you offer her your hand. And she climbs it. She’s small, about the size of a mug, and she’s transparent. You imagined slimes as gooey and green but she’s small, soft and just wet.

>50 + 16 = 66
After admiring your summoning for a few moments, you decide that trying to communicate with her is the best new option. You speak a few words in Spanish and then English, but she doesn’t seems to respond. She makes a few confused slime noises, but that’s about it. Maybe she speaks *Aquan*, the language of Water Elementals. You softly pet her head and speak her to her. You tell her that you are friendly and allies. She stares at you confused but hugs your thumb with her small arms. Well, that wasn’t hard at all.

> [Female Slime Elemental met]
> You can now name her.

>Quest Received:
> [Water Communication] - Try to communicate with your new slime friends. Either teach her your own language or learn Aquan. Or even both

>Class Magic Theory Time to learn what being a mage is about.

Magical Theory taught by Professor Adalbert Waffling is an often overlooked class since most first year students are confident enough in their own understanding of their magic. However those that choose to ignore the basics often repeat easy mistakes or overestimate their abilities. In the classroom you're taught that their are many different components just to make a fireball. First the mage should know something of combustion or starting a fire. A basic understanding of how to kindle a fire is adequate. Most magical spells are empowered by the mage's mana which replenishes naturally. Finally(and of course Professor Waffling makes sure you understand how simplified he's making the example.), the mage focuses his will, his understanding of the phenomenon, whatever different tricks they have at their disposal(such as runes) to make fire. There is a small amount of flare as the wizened wrinkled hands produce the flame. Ooh, Aah.

>DO Practice YoYo Tricks

Pulling out the Personalize Yoyo, you feel your own sense of self shift just that tiniest bit. You practice simply letting the yoyo fall to gravity and quickly draw it back up again. The movement seems so dynamic, so natural. The yoyo can only be described as an extension of your own arm. Trying something little more daring, you decide to walk the yoyo. You feel the subtle vibrations of the Yoyo against the ground travel through the string and past your ring finger. Your wrist and shoulders response quicker than your mind, drawing the string back before the Yoyo runs out of momentum. This innate connection between yourself and this Yoyo, could just be explained by a natural talent, OR somehow you were personally connected to this toy though it's conjuration of a thread from your self-made clothes.

>Research a way I can use Holy magic offensively. Something at range would more than likely suit my style I bet!

So after a long session of research at the library you feel yourself drifting off to sleep with a kind of deceptive drowsiness. A few seconds with your eyes closed and you're already in a deep deep sleep. Your sleeping self appears in a winter forest, a heavy white fogbank obfuscating your surroundings. You hear in the distance the light prancing of a single creature. When you turn in the direction of the sound you witness a dark menacing figure. It appears to be a large giant of a horse rider wearing the horns of the stag. Both he and his ride bare metal armor with a corrupting influence on the dreamscape.

That is when you remember some piece of your recent training. You feel the shrine maiden's litter fingers correcting your stance and finger placement. Your breathing becomes even and measured which produces and steady steam of condensation. Before you can release your arrow, the dark figure charges right at you. The concentration of your own magical potential rebuffs the corruption of the dark figure's armor. But you know for a fact that his spear would still rip you apart. At the very last second, patience gives way to survival and you roll away from the spearman's point. The arrow still taunt in the bow you let it fly.

The mad crackle of energy in the air is deafening. A holy and pure missile fired from your bow cuts through the dark mist of corruption around the rider, piercing the plates of his armor. You hit the snow, just about the same time as you hit the floor of the library in the waking world. Above you you see a Holy Bolt lodged in the library's ceiling, which disappears without leaving a mark at all. Deep down, you start to realize the meaning of this dream. And perhaps the possibly it was granted to you from a higher power.

>Whatever rationale you choose (an undigested bit of Bento is an acceptable reason), you have gained a new ability to create and fire [Holy Bolt]s imbued with your understanding of [Holy Magic]. These new magical arrows may be fired with an actual bow for the benefits created by such a weapon. Or freely from your own person by taking the stance and imagining the shot.
>Your daydreams are now host to [The Dark Stag]. It does not cause you too much distress. It is simply an unsettling reminder of some significance.

AS A FELLOW LIGHTBEARER, YOU HAVE THE BIRTHRIGHT OF KNOWING ALL THAT IS TO KNOW OF OUR RADIANT KINSDRAKE. THEY CALL ME RHAZIAS.” He bows his head in respect ”IT IS A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU... Later that day you summoned Rhazias again. “YES, YOUNG ONE? WHAT IS IT THAT YOU NEED OF ME?” You ask him about his past. “YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ME? I’M FLATTERED. VERY WELL.” the silver dragon draws a deep breath and began to tell his tale. You learn that he is has 7 siblings all of which 2 of which were his clutchmates, the other 3 came before him and a twin who are the oldest among them. He studied under the tutelage of a veteran Radiant; A Warrior Class within their society. His mother was a priestess and his father was a scholar. It was an arranged marriage by their two clans but they eventually learned love each other. In his childhood years he often found himself outperformed by his peers. He prefers it that way as this allows him to work behind the scenes without the attention to distract him. “Bringing light to hidden places” as he puts it. He admits that he’s not as good as his brothers and sisters but they still love him all the same, often being called “Little Rhazy” by his peers due to his unusually small stature. He tells you that his oldest siblings, the twins, are four times a large as him. His parents are even larger. You talked for a while. Most of which were trivial things about him. Afterwards he returned to his realm, telling you that he had duties to attend to. He bid you farewell and disappeared.

You asked Valerie to come with you, telling her that you wanted to show her something. “Eh?” You told her that you’ve summoned an actual dragon “EH!?” You and Valerie hurriedly went to an open clearing. Then you told her to take a seat and watch “Alright alright.” Valerie takes a seat. You performed the summoning ritual and called out to Rhazias and just like that the silver dragon emerges from the ray of light. Valerie watches, wide eyed and in awe of the sight. “AH, MISS DRAGFIRM. WE MEET AGAIN.” He then notices your companion “AH, I SEE THAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT A FRIEND WITH YO-” He notices something and started sniffing around. He then leaned down and started sniffing Valerie “Hey! Quit with the snout works will ya?.” She pushed his snout away. “YOU. YOU ARE LIKE ABBY BUT… YOU ARE SOMETHING DIFFERENT. ARE YOU BY CHANCE ALSO A HALFBLOOD AS WELL?” “Halfblood? Oh! You mean a dragonblood. Yeah, I’m one of them folks.” “INTRIGUING. YOU SMELL SIMILAR TO OUR KIND YET YOU ARE ALSO DIFFERENT.” He strokes his chin and ponders. “YOU MUST BE FROM A DIFFERENT KIND OF DRAGON. TELL ME. WHAT IS YOUR LINEAGE?” Valerie ponders for a while then shrugs. “Honestly? I’m not really sure about that myself. All I know is that my dragon powers are red and fiery.” Rhazias stood upright and put his arms on his sides. “RED AND FIERY YOU SAY? THEN YOU MUST BE DESCENDED FROM THE BURNING ONES; THE RED DRAGONS.” Rhazias and Valerie began talking intently with each other. You learn that the realm that the true dragons ascended to are divided among a number of dragon races of different origins and lineages. One such race were the red dragons. They reside in volcanic areas and other regions of the world with great heat. He says that red dragons tend to be irritable and easy to anger, yet very passionate with their friends and work. The light dragons see the red dragons as their more chaotic cousins. The three of you continued to talk about dragons until it was finally time to go home. You bid Rhazias goodbye and he responded in kind and returned home himself. As you and Valerie walked home, she spoke “Well, the was something. Didn’t knew my folks were like that. Sounds like they’re pretty sweet to hangout with.” She put her hands on the back of her head. “He’s a bit on the small side for a dragon but he’s still pretty cool.”

You start with another 2 hour warm up, but instead of just doing Jumping Jacks, Push ups, and Sit ups; she brings various different exercises for you to try. Now you are moving muscles that you didn't even knew you had!

Then after a really brief water break, you try again with the bar. All those weeks of trainings have done you good! Now you have reached your highest ever! Lisa notices this and applauds you since this is a moment to celebrate! But in those fre seconds the bar slips from your hands and falls on your ribs. Weirdly enough, writing about all the awful things that happened to you since you enrolled does not make you feel better, you just realize how painful this was. You read about the link that connects a killer and their victims. At the moment of the kill, an intimate connection forms between an attacker and a victim. You note that very often, the attacker forms a bond with the location of the murder. A criminal always returns to the scene of the crime, after all. A crafty mage could use this link to identify an attacker by cross referencing the links connecting the scene of the crime, the victims, and the killer. Some police forces around the world even use this method as a complement to traditional investigations.

The Magitech club gathers around the table as you explain your plans. You show them the diagrams written on the blueprints, gathered from the club archives. After some discussion and some coffee, you all get to work. Camille and the others begin cutting pieces of the mesh whilst at the same time, producing more in the event of a mistake or alteration. By the end of it, they’ve got enough mesh to produce a second suit, if you wanted one.

You, on the other hand, start by creating the base components. Forging them is simple enough, as you do have the schematics for them. With all the pieces gathered, you all begin assembling the frame together. The Force-Joint Servos help keep the frame upright, and make it so that you don’t even require a pulley. You leave an allowance for space, but decide to scrap that in favor of an enchantment. By manipulating the space inside using a combination of Spatial and Void magic, you can essentially make the armor ‘bigger’ on the inside. You’ve made it so that the space inside doesn’t adjust more or less than it ever should, making every fit a perfect one. That should fix that issue.

The next issue is to create the backpack. You install the mana capacitors, along with a small, but potent mana battery. As this battery is crafted from manasteel, you’re certain that if this is fully charged, this should last roughly 8 hours when working at maximum capacity. You even make it so that you can channel mana from inside the suit to charge it. You then install an electric battery for more mundane uses. Next, you install a pair of oxygen tanks. They’re fairly bulky and standard, but with the servos in place, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. A coolant system is relatively standard. Water-cooled, but the water in question is infused with ice magic. The compartment is somewhat simpler, with a basic spatial enchantment to increase the amount of space it can hold. There are ports for the oxygen tanks, mana batteries, and conventional batteries, in the event that charging or refilling is required. The best part? The frame is mostly modular. You can swap out any of these pieces for new or different ones with ease.

All of you then get to work on sealing the frame with the mesh. You layer the mesh onto the skeleton frame, then weld it together using a mana welder. Afterwards, you use transmutation magic to revert the welded parts back to their mesh form. This makes it as if the mesh was always connected together in this shape. Installing a zipper is easy enough. You place an industrial-strength, air-tight zipper onto the suit, before enchanting it with a pink-mana repelling magic, similar to Agatite. Finally, you install a system that should keep the inside of the suit pressurized, while also airtight and watertight. You all take a step back at your finished work. It is a large, imposing suit of deep grey mesh. It almost looks like a golem, if you gave it sentience. This suit should make it safe to traverse pink mana-infused areas. The mesh in question is durable enough, but Camille advises against getting the suit too damaged, as it might ruin the airtight and watertight properties, exposing you to the pink mana outside.

On that note, you all take a moment to admire the suit once again. The topic of a name comes up, and people all give suggestions on what it should be called. The names ‘Delver’, ‘Inquirer’, and ‘Voyager’ come up as suggestions, but in the end, the team defers to you as to what it could be called. Through the rest of the night, you all enjoy a nice slice of pizza at the workshop. You feel the Magitech Club growing together after that endeavor.

You took a loose bit of pipe that litters the edges of the pond and you transferred a small amount of your mana to the pipe to test its properties. As it makes contact with the pipe the glob of mana is immediately absorbed into the interior of the pipe and shoot out from the hole. You tried it out again on each end of the pipe. You found out that the pipe has some sort of innate force that absorbs mana from the environment and pushes the absorbed mana in one direction. You looked into the pipe and saw that the interior walls are etched with grooves. Inside the grooves are smaller runic symbols. It reminded you of a barrel of a rifle. If your theory is correct, the material that the pipes are made out of is a natural mana sponge and the markings inside the pipes are what makes the pipes pump mana from place to place. You split the pipe in half and copied the markings on a piece of paper. This might prove useful someday.

You attend the Engineering class. Instead of learning about the process of building something, the teacher tells the class about the different stages of an engineering project, from having an idea, to making a prototype, which leads to a final version of the product. He even gives some tips on how to attract investors, but then adds that you probably won’t need that knowledge unless you pursue a career in engineering after you graduate. You learn quite a lot about the process of actually making something. Being more organized will help your efficiency.

[===Academy News===]
Students from Madrid say their goodbyes to their fellow students as they depart for Amsterdam. The buses pull out of the driveway, promising a long haul from Madrid to Amsterdam. A new journey begins for the transferees, or perhaps, the continuation of an old one. Meanwhile, the students from Amsterdam are excited to see what lies in store for them in the Mageknight Academy of Madrid.

Amsterdam Thread:
>>1345957

The Hunters have given out a statement that they believe to have tracked down important leads in the Cardboard Monster case. This news comes on the heels of yet another unfortunate victim. The young woman was visiting an aspiring Mage Knight within the Academy before she was stuck down at a local bus stop. Her family mourns and an open ceremony is taking place for friends and families within the Mageknight Academy. The Holy Order has recently extended an offer to help the Hunters. No comment has been made at this time, but the Hunters are expected to accept.

A string of accidents involving electricity is leaving the staff perplexed. Foul play is suspected. Students are advised to stay alert whenever they use an electrical device, and to report any suspicious events to the school janitor.

[Upcoming Events]
>There will also be an inter-academy tournament will also be held soon. (Turn 120) We wish you the best of luck. For Madrid!

For the first time in almost two weeks, you don’t immediately rush to the toilet to vomit. You pat your stomach to confirm it. It seems you finally triumphed, the nausea is gone. You go on with the rest of your day, feeling a lot better.

You attempt to right custom Valentines cards. You really do. But whenever you sit down in front of the cards, your mind just goes blank. You have no idea what to write. And whenever you think about something you could write, you dismiss it. You spend almost two hours like this, spread over several days, repeating this same cycle. Finally, you give up, you just can’t do it right now.

>25
Instead, you hop on your computer, trying to research the Plane of Ice and Snow. You find very few articles news or scholastic on the open internet. Maybe the Academy's own databases would prove more fruitful. Thinking about it a bit, you realize that if you wanna know more about the Ice Plane you should chat up somebody from that place. And then you slowly realize that you haven't actually seen Nina since last night. Maybe it was the sickness you were recovering from but you're starting to think about catching up with her.

You strum the strings of your bass, trying to reproduce the feeling you got during your meditation in song. It’s harder than you thought it would be, making a song that will make anyone feel the same way you did. You jot down a few notes on paper, experimentating to see what works. You spend two days struggling with the song, until one afternoon, you finally “get” it. Your new song is almost like a military march, loud and clear. Just hearing it makes you feel focused, even after two whole days of songwriting.

You visit the summoning class once more. Today, Alexis Jones is talking about on of the four great elemental planes, the plane of Air. Its inhabitants are a whimsical bunch, usually pretty helpful and laidback. However, they can quickly get angry for seemingly no reason at all. The main species living there are sylphs, humanoid wind elementals. They’re usually playful, and will often agree to help if there’s something fun, or at least interesting to do. Sylphs usually work under Storm Kings and Queens, the ruling class of the plane of Air.

May I challenge you to a friendly duel?” he says in a kind manner while unsheathing his sword. You introduce yourself and gladly accept. This can be a great learning experience. Soon you both are in the middle of dueling area. He bows down and you graciously do the same. The match starts and he strikes in an instant. You parry and for a second you both take defensive stances, ready for someone to make the move “You are very fast but are you fast enough?!” he says throwing his weight at you. You parry once more and you see an opening but he steps back in an instant. You both take a breath and soon you both are at it again. Strike after strike, parry after parry, and lunge after lunge, you both just stand there in your stances out of breath, you notice that you’re actually getting spectators from this intense fight. You hear murmurs of people betting on the blonde and some on you. Though he looks tired, he lunges forward once more and it looks like he strikes and scratches you, but as his sword and attention out of the way. You take the advantage and do the same, he does his best to move but with his momentum going the other way, he couldn't move in time and you blades skids through his skin almost the same area as he did to you. You both jump back and your body gives in and end up sitting down exhausted but when you take a look at him, he is down as well!. He is exhausted and on his back. You see the crowd disappointed as some leave at seeing a skilled matchup end with a draw. After a minute of catching you breaths, you stand up and shake hands. “That was a good zuel. Due to your reputation around the academy for being a problem solver and a good sword arm, you're able to contact one of the Hunters already on the case for the Cardboard Monster. Your contact is an middle-aged gentleman wearing a jacket and trench coat set and speaks in a strange American accent. He tells you that they aren't certain about the identity or lair of the monster, however they've been able to connect the string of assaults to a suspect. They show you an composite artist sketch of the beast. It is a lupine wearing a cardboard suit of armor with the word "Gundam" written on the chest piece. Besides the sketch, they've been able to connect the beast to various crime sites of the assaults, as well as the curious incident of the Gameshop Riot. According to witnesses at the scene, they were taken over with a rage they couldn't explain. Their accounts vary but it seems as if a lupine escaped the Riot both wearing Cardboard Armor and not. The Hunter, having laid out what they think is safe to give, now offers you a place in the investigation/hunt.

Learning from your past mistake, you adjusted her training regime to fit her anatomy and biology. You made her crawl around outside for a while and made her lift increasingly heavy objects. You made sure to feed her pink mana and let her rest of a bit periodically after each session. In the end your training regime was a success.

After the training you sat down with her and talked to each other. “Thank you for taking good care of me, Maiden of Flames. I feel much stronger than before.” She flexes one of her sleeve arms and for a moment it hardened into bark. “Oh, I could do this? Intriguing...” the bark soon flakes off, leaving her sleeve arm thinner than before. “Do not worry, Maiden. I’m sure that my arm will grow back to its normal girth eventually.”

After the ordeal you asked her what name should she be called as from now on. “Me? I’m unsure. I have existed for a few days. I have nothing in my memory to pull out off.” You and her looked around for inspiration. You examine her default form. She appears to be some form of amorphous clothing shaped creature comprised of overlapping flower petals and leaves. Oh! You just figured out a nice place for you and the girls can have a lovely date together; A lovely sea cruise! Well, technically you will be just renting a relatively medium sized boat. You're not that rich. And so you went to the pier and looked for the nicest looking boat that you can afford. Oh hey there's one! That's a pretty nice looking boat over there. It's not as good looking as a yacht but this will do nicely. You asked for the "captain" of the ship. Out comes an old man with a pair of manly looking mutton chops and a heavy Scottish accent. His arms are filled with tattoos and one of his eyes is covered with an eyepatch. "Ye? Wazzit ya want, laddie?" He then took a swig of his bottle. You notice that the bottle has a label “Old Nessie 1898” on it. you asked him of your services. Say it's for a date. He began to tear up "Ah... young love. I remember when I first met me wife. She was envious sea beast she is... but she her love was no one can compare.” He then took off his hat, revealing his bald spot “Ohoho… my dear, sweet Lidia... May your soul rest in peace..." he shed a tear and looked at you with resolve "Very well. I'll do it. Discounts on me." Well, that went well than expected. Plus you now have extra cash to buy some good stuff for the girls.

The date... didn't went as well as you've expected. Aside from the smell of fish and alcohol, the captain's manners were much more than was is to be expected. He will occasionally takes a few swigs of his booze and burps. Occasionally just as about one of the girls were land a kiss on you. Besides that the weather made the boat ride way too turbulent for comfort. At one point you could have sworn that there was something big swimming under the boat but then when you looked again and now it's gone. Must have been just your imagination. A few moments later you saw a shiny object floating near the boat. Oh hey, it looks like a pearl. Though, it's pretty weird looking for a pearl. It's tear shaped and has a blue hue. You took it out of the water and wrapped it in one of your many many handkerchiefs that you carry on your person for such an occasion like this.

After the "date" the girls commented on how unpleasant the boat ride was. "Hey, at least you took me on a date on Valentine’s Day. That means you still care for me and that what matters." I still remember the time when we used to read it before bed back when we were kids. Makes me feel nostalgic." Isabel hugged your other arm and rested her head on your shoulder. Some time later you took the girls to the new condo. Their eyes widened with surprise and joy as they saw their new home. The tour of the place were met with enthusiasm and delight. Already they are calling dibs on certain locations of the condo. After the tour you all sat down on the floor. As the three of you took in the view, you decided that now is the right time to give them their gifts. You took both bracelets and gave them to each girl simultaneously (mainly to avoid being mistakenly perceived with favoritism) As they received their gifts their eyes glistened from the sun setting sky. Then you said to both of them in the most gentlest way that you can put it “Happy Valentine’s Day.” Both of them began weeping their hearts out and hugged you tightly. It felt like you’re being crushed by a vice grip. Noticing that you are in pain they immediately stopped hugging you so tightly and blushed in embarrassment. “Oh, sorry.” Tenia said “Got caught in the moment there.” Isabel said. You notice that Joy return to a blobby shape when she’s in water and swims like a jellyfish but still she manages to out speed and out lap you. You try to match her pace but turns out you can’t compete with an Elemental on its element. You end up your session really tired and hungry.

“Hmmm...” Platina ponders “Making magic artefacts isn’t really one of my fortes but... what the heck! I’ll try anyway. I love a challenge.” You and Platina began working together to create the spell amplifier. Eventually Platina and you have created a large spherical artefact. It’s way too large to be carried by hand but luckily Platina let you borrow one of her spare trolley carts that she uses to transport her forging supplies. With the artefact securely strapped onto the trolley you thanked her and brought it to your stone hut for safe keeping.

Seeing that not only fey souls are being affected by the soul well, you worked on the spell with this in mind and attempt spellcrafting a general soul linking spell. Unfortunately your spell backfires. Soon thoughts and memories started started rushing inside your mind. You saw people you don’t recognize, experienced events that you have not done and places that you have not seen before. Before long you started hearing people screaming and convulsing next door. It seems that you have inadvertently linked your own soul to the students near your dormitory.

You mustered your strength and stood up. As you approach your next door neighbor you can hear someone screaming “She’s coming! She’s coming!”. Suddenly a sudden spike of thoughts surges from inside your mind. You felt fear and confusion. You opened the door and saw the student. She’s a curly haired girl with green dyed hair. You here other screaming near you dorm. As you sit there not sure what to do, a janitor shows up and saw the commotion in the dorm. He ran up to you and ask you what happened. As you speak the other students near your dorm began speaking in unison with you. “My god. This must be one of them spell accidents them teacher folks kept warning me about.” He looked around the unsettling sight. As he looked at the students you began seeing through their eyes as well. The information overload is too much. You can’t handle it and you began holding your head tightly. The other students began holding their heads as well. “H-hold on, miss and…” He looks at the other affected students “everyone? I-I’ll go get the teachers. Wait there. I’ll be right back.” the janitor hurriedly ran off.

As you stayed put your body begins moving on their own. You can feel that the other students of the hivemind you just created are starting to influence your body. All of you began gathering at center of the dorm complex. You tried imposing your will upon the hivemind but you are outnumbered. You tried freeing yourself from the hivemind but its hold on your soul is strong.

Later that day a small group of faculty members arrived at the scene. They each examined all of the affected students and came to the conclusion that the cause of this was a spellcrafting accident involving soul merging. Luckily the merge was relatively weak enough for them to sever the ties with the use of an area wide ritual. They advised everyone to take it easy for a while until they can deduce that there are no more lingering side effects.

Walking back into the Storage Shed which Casey has taken over as her own club house, you notice the strong smell of tobacco in the air. The small group of girls within are split between smoking, throwing their YoYos, or grooving to an punk beat. Confronting Casey you find her sitting on a yoga mat with a can of contraband, read beer. Ripping off another can from the plastic six rings, she makes a few gestures towards you. Two other girls single-mindedly take your jacket from you and throws it to the ground.

In response to your question, Casey gives you a sideways look. Her attention is focused on the jacket on the ground and popping the can in her hand. "No, the string is very normal. You brought it with you in that shotty uniform you tried to impress us with. The Yoyo, that was also very normal. Some string and some plastic. But it was the process and method of creation that was special. That plastic was created using abit of your own essence, much too small for you to notice it's absence and already refilling itself."

"Really you brought everything for it's making. Like a seamstress, I take different threads to make a blouse, a dress, a yoyo, whatever. Should you really be surprised that a Yoyo made absolutely for you, from you, would fit in your own hands so well? " With that her own hand dipped letting the piss watered down beer pour onto the jacket on the ground. However before it could even be stained, the beer was quickly converted into smoke, tobacco smoke that covered the floor and rose up into Casey's face. Once the entire can was empty, the smoke dissipated revealing many more jackets underneath. There were slight variations, but they all bore the name and the Yoyo symbol.

Your original jacket Casey picks up and wraps back on your shoulders. "So long as you wear this, you are one of my girls. And whoever messes with you, messes with me, and messes with all of us," she waves to the other girls already picking up the copies.

It's strange, the hallowed grounds are empty this time of day. This sense of unease can't be completely settled. You feel a heavy sense of conviction, like your soul was thrown into an iron crucible, tested and refined in the blazing glory of divinity. The painful awareness of a higher power nearly drives you to faint. Instead you take a seat in a pew and wait while the priest makes his rounds.

Asking about Angels, the priest goes ahead to remark that as many different religious thinking there have been, so as the interpretation of Angels and whom they serve. Demons and other spiritual beings are a talkative bunch and willing to communicate with magi and (un)wise men whenever it suits their agenda or instincts. Not so with the Angelic host. They all seem to serve one higher power and they don't seem to require anything from those they contact.

These spiritual beings are understood to be superior to humans in power and intelligence. They are not infallible but are bestowed with greater wisdom of earthly things as well as empowered to perform in service to their maker. Magi that have attempted to summon such beings have often been censored by their peers, and those they wished to summon with a pillar of fire. Overall it is unwise to invoke the presence of these Celestial beings.

While they don't make pacts, they are still able to give blessings and protection. To gain these blessings, all one must do is the invoke their names and bid them. Simple maybe, but often impossible to actually accomplish. A request from the impious may go ignored. The goal of the invoker may be counter to some heavenly agenda and is so ignored. There are theories that invoking an angel's name in their own language will demand their compliance.

The lowest of these beings are the Cherubim. And the lowest of this classification are the guardian angels. These are angels assigned to protect and guide a particular person, group, kingdom, or country. This makes some sense to you seeing as you've felt a guiding force from a divine source before.

By the time that the priest is finished talking the hour has long past. He bids you to practice discernment while learning at the academy. Invisible creatures often masquerade as each other. What you assume to be an angel answering your prayers may be something else. A man that stands atop a building may be able to see trouble further down the way, but that doesn't mean he speaks to you for your own good.

Sympathy is a subjective term. Thus, what might be sympathetic to you is not sympathetic to someone else. This applies to both positive and negative emotions. For example, if one were to hate the place they grew up in, they may develop an equally powerful sympathetic link as to someone who had loved the place they grew up with. Interesting stuff.

Camille is easy enough to find. You find her at her work cubicle, typing away at her laptop. Her eyes flicker between you and the computer screen. “Hey Caiden” she smiles, “Need something?” You explain that you just wanted to hang out, and for a moment, she almost seems confused. “You want to hang out… with me?” she asks. You nod, and she smiles, just a little bit. You take a seat next to her, and take a look at her work. Her laptop doesn’t look like any other one you’ve ever seen. It must be custom. There seems to be a lot of code on her screen, so you presume she must be programming right now. Her fingers dance on the keyboard like a blur. You make small talk, for the most part, eventually segueing to the topic of possible projects in the future.

When you ask her what her specialty is, she tells you that Computer Science, Programming, and Coding is her forte. As for her magic art, she uses Void magic, the antithesis and mirror of Spatial magic. When you ask her her hobbies, she’s suddenly a lot more subdued. “W-well... I program things. Yes.” Odd. Maybe she doesn’t get out much. She quickly changes the subject.

“I haven’t seen you use that arm too many times. Is it new?” Camille asks. You say that you tend not to use it too often, as the standard model works just as well. She nods, and suggests several upgrades to the arm that you might find interesting. Things such as a digital interface, or a holographic touchscreen. Still, she tells you that those would be projects of their own, and she’d be happy to help you out with them, should you accept her help.

You brief your team, go over the schematics a few times, have a quick cup of coffee, and then proceed into mass-production. Creating enough Agatite-Manasteel mesh is difficult, at first, but with a bit of jury-rigging, Camille and Liam manage to create a machine that automates the production of Agatite, allowing them to focus on other tasks. Will and the other two members work on the frames, and thanks to their schematics, create the allotted number of Frameworks relatively quickly. The team repeats this process several times, and over the course of a few days, they do so with frightening efficiency.

By the end of it all, not only do you have the six Delver suits, but you now also have a couple spare Delver suits. They’re relatively experimental, but they serve the same purpose of as the normal Delver suits. The difference with these ones, is that they’re made specifically for lifting heavier loads, thanks to their improved Force-joint servos. In addition to the frame, they also have a Force-join exoskeleton, which further bolsters their strength. Their mesh plating is also thicker, making it more durable overall. Speed suffers somewhat, but you’re certain that if you encounter anything that needs hauling in dangerous areas, these should do the trick.

Following the physical pipeline is easy enough. You trace the metal tube above your head with your torchlight while strolling in the maintenance tunnels underneath the school. The space is cramped and you can hear the eerie echo of your own suit bouncing from one end to the other. Your sensors designed to pick up the mana flow are particularly helpful whenever the pipes double and triple over themselves and without that signature you would have lost the trail completely. By all field tests the suit seems to keep yourself insulated from the environment.

The few club members you were able to commandeer into this expedition have spread out over the tunnels underneath the campus. Each reporting the same mana flow within the pink pipeline's circuit. However none of them offer a point where the flow is strengthen or pumped. From what you understand, there has to be a capacitor somewhere attached to the pipeline to ensure its strength based on the output observed at the Workshop. All the observations that your team is able to provide you, is that there are a few complexes collecting ambient mana, not necessarily the highly pink colored mana, in small doses and delivering them to one point on the pipeline. The one point you are now traveling to in order to confirm.

The three collecting complexes are roughly under the Holy Order's Chapel, the First Residency Housing, and the HEMA Training Grounds. Of note there are two points along the pipeline that are bleeding the pink mana from the system. One complex close to the MagiTech Workshop, which makes sense seeing as you're drawing from the pipeline, as well as one closer to the Fey Forest where the Cooking/Gardening club usually operate.

Just as you are about to cover the last length of the pipeline going deeper underneath the campus. You come upon a metal plaque and a stone worked wall. Here the physical pipeline seems to have been busted leaking a whiff of the pink mist. Not enough to fill the entire corridor. But you soon realize that the mana flows through the wall in front of you without the physical connection. You see three small plain grey inputs feeding into the wall, with one large pink output.

The plaque reads: "By Administrative Action, this tunnel is to be sealed and entrance is to be barred from all students and faculty. Enacted by Principal ---" The name seems to have been rendered unreadable, "Year 1998." Just underneath the dull and rusted metal plaque there's another chiseled message: "SLS LIVES" as well as a vacancy you can flash your torch inside. You see the pipes extending further into the darkness, as well as stone earthen walls forming a cylinder chamber also extending into the darkness, possibly made through the heavy use of Earth Magics.

The terrible event was long over. However you could still see the remains, the piece of yellow tape clinging to the blue bus station sign. It being the late afternoon turned evening, the winter wind chill people's bones. The crowd kept together under the red warmth of the space heaters, still slightly shivering in their winter jackets and coats. On the bus stop's bench was a photo portrait of the young woman with a silver and gold frame. The rest of the bench was covered in bouquets of flowers and smiling photographs of the young women and many other students of the academy, as well as her sister she was actually visiting.

Most of the crowd were leaving either flowers or photos at the bench and giving their condolences to the present grieving sister. Apparently the recently deceased was a horse trainer, since there were also small mementos of horse figueres and several pictures of fine race horses from her career. In the center of the crowd was a figure standing on a soapbox and holding a small black leather bound bible. A priest from the Academy's local branch of the Holy Order, he said a few words of encouragement and comfort.

The moonlight plant has grown larger in size. Its roots have almost surpassed its potted home. Looks like you will have to look for a bigger pot or a new place to plant it should it continue to grow at this rate. You soon realized that Draconic in modern times has evolved significantly compared to Old Draconic. New words have been added to the dialect. Some of them pertain to things that the modern world has that ancient times didn’t. You looked beside you and saw that Valerie almost fell asleep from time to time but she eventually woke up with great enthusiasm each time.

You go to the Martials Art Club and start practicing. They all do a one and a half hour of warm up and then start going after knocking your opponent down using his own force. Gurion, the Krav Maga instructor goes into high detail of how to do it carefully for this practice session to avoid hurting your classmates. You practice with a girl but you don’t catch her name. She is fairly skinny but you are surprised by how strong she is. She manages to throw you off balance a few more times that you expected but you caught her off guard a few times too. You have an enjoyable session with her. But after the class you don’t see her again.

>Depression DC 35: Failed means -10 to rolls on turn.
Depression hits hard this week. The events after the transfer to madrid was stressful. You even came to meet Remi but in the end, it never went well. Luckily this didn’t affect what you planned on doing as doing.

>70 -10 +5 +5 +5 +3 +3 = 81

Nurse Kiru welcomes you back to the Nursing Ward as she handles you a clean lab coat. You chat as you make the morning arrangement to the Nursing Area; stocking up the cupboards, making rounds with the students in bed, and filling up the required paperwork for you to work as a student. You start to tell Kiru about your time in Amsterdam and how it went well for you. All the things you learned, all the things you faced, all the people you met… You pause and remember Remi. the only person you loved. Kiru notices the really long pause and asks if everything's alright? You nod, you excuse yourself and say you forgot to clear some boxes from the storage area. A single tear drops from your eye and start to wonder about Remi while you are locked in the dark storage room.

When you come back Kiru has something prepared to you. She hands you a small bag which contains an Official Nurse Uniform of the Academy. She congratulates you and tells you that she talked to her boss and he agreed to recruit you as an Intern for the Nurse Area. “We understand that you are also a Second Year student and that school is a priority so we won’t need you around 24/7. But you need to report here frequently.”

>Obtained [Mage Knight Academy of Madrid Nurse Uniform]
>[Making Bank] Now you are getting paid as an intern. At least every [2 Turns] you have to report to nurse Kiru and spend at least [1 Action]. Every [3 turns] you can go shopping. Base DC40 to check if you have enough funds for your purchase. [A successful funds check leads to the purchase of the item(s)]

Curses are quite similar to sicknesses and ailments, if they were magical in nature. Thus, you resolve to improve your arcane treatments. By removing the seals and wards of the curse in question, then you should be able to reduce the power of the curse. When it comes to curses, breaking the curse all at once is not always the safest option, so it’s useful to keep in mind that weakening it over a span of time might be more effective.

You begin to focus on the yoyo as a object with different parts and different physical forces acting on it.

Your understanding of of the physics at work in the Yoyo's system gives you some insight of how to use your natural mana as potential energy. If you are the Yoyo, and the potential energy is the mana inside you. How can you unleash that energy in the proper manner to work against gravity? You bust your brain thinking about it. Should you make a Yoyo to ride in? Should you twist and flex your limbs into a pretzel in order to lift off the ground? Maybe if you jump really really high you can lose gravity for a hot second.

Adalbert Waffling is surprised to see students actually coming to him for pointers. You're surprised to see the stacks of Awards and Trophies on his office bookshelves. Seems like the man was quite active in his youth as a goalkeeper for the Academy's Football team(not American Football with the helmets and pads). You demonstrate the spell you've created and remarks that you've got some talent for it. The conversion of energy from a purely magical one into different forces is so common it's like breathing air, but most students don't attempt to understand the details. He gives you a few ideas on how to refine the method by adding simple magical soma materials, hand gestures he explains. Some speak magical words. Some inscribe magical runes and sigils. However the two finger salute shouldn't be ignored as a focus. After the small mini-lecture he demonstrates how the same process you use could produce different results, such as Heat or Electricity, or simply float a book from one shelf to the other in mock fight.

>Gained [Kinetic Blow](T1)[1/2]

>DO Pray for guidance [Angelic Guidance] - The hunt for cardboard monster
While your guardian doesn't give you a direct response, you feel that attending the ceremony for the latest victim will be a step in the right direction. Guardians angels are known for giving protection for the weak and comfort to the grieving. Despite attending the Academy for a few weeks, you don't know many of the students or facility making up the crowd of people under the heat lamps. You start to listen to many of the side stories surrounding the victim. But mostly you try to push through the chatter and find out just what happened, and who is gonna prevent this from happening again? Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds? You come to the conclusion, you have to hook into the group going after this Cardboard Monster. They'll have to be strong, They'll have to be fast, And they'll have to be fresh to the fight.

>You've gained [Holding Out for a Hero], should combat break out during the Monster Cardboard Quest, you may grant another character a temporary increased stat of your choice by 3. Either: Strength, Stamina, Vitality. OR outside of combat you may grant another character's roll a +10 bonus only if you declare so before they roll. One use only.

>DO Find the Hunting party and volunteer
Unfortunately, the official Hunter attending the ceremony looks in your direction and flatly refuses. He says that he doesn't want to be responsible for you. And that you'll have to find somebody else willing to bring you along. To make his point, he pushes you off balance with just one extended finger on your forehead.

>You'll have to convince somebody else on the Cardboard Monster case to bring you along.

You do feel shame and guilt, but not when you are Berserking. While fighting you give yourself over to the freedom of primal instinct where there is nothing but the Beast's urges and needs. It's need to tear down threats and to punch back against every slight. But you are not entirely Beast. This conflict has been ripping apart you psyche for so long. This near constant tension between Revenge and Guilt has a central focal point and it is your pendant. That pendant keeps the Beast inside and preserves the sanity that insists on reflecting on the consequences of the Beast's actions. In your darkest moments you realize that there is a salvation in throwing away the capacity to think and feel this shame ever again.

Attending the Bus Stop Ceremony, you see a strange sight. Standing on the soapbox you can see Jerry the Dummy atop the priest's shoulders. You hear the priest's words coming out of its plastic lips, "For none of us lives to himself alone, and none of us dies to himself alone. Romans 14:7. I am very glad that such a community has come together. When there is one of us hurt by random violence, often that hurt will spread to others either begetting more frustrated violence against others, or the untimely death that leaves a hole in each of us. Only a man that divorces himself entirely from his brothers is without a community. Let us thank those that would rush into the darkness to root out this evil. They take the biggest risk and may die, if they do, they die with the gratitude of the entirety of the community."

>Please choose between the three conditions below, OR refuse all.
>[Blood Brothers:Humanity] You strengthen your personal resolve and the bars of the Beast's cage. This will decrease the DC to keep sanity to a flat 40 per turn. And the social DC for Monstrous Visage will also lower to 40. +1 Tier to Willpower while the Werebeast is not unleashed.
>[Blood Brothers:The Beast] Your beast becomes more powerful increasing the bonus to Strength from +1 to +2.
>[Blood Brothers:Stand Alone] You let the Beast's leash run a little more slack. With the pendant on gain practical shapeshifting to manifest one aspect of the Werebeast. Either +1 Tier of Strength, T1 Claws, Night Vision, OR T1 Fangs.

“Are you sure you want to do this, Ean? You’re still not completely healed from the last time.” You nod mutely. Lisa slaps you on the back, and grins. “Good. No pain, no gain, right? Let’s get started, then.” And so it began- quite possibly the most physically excruciating experience you had ever felt in your life, and most likely ever will feel. Each push-up was pure agony, each jumping jack felt like torture, and with each sit-up, you could feel your rib cage groan in suffering. You pushed on. Through all of it, you pushed on. Each step on your two-mile jog rattled your bones, but you continued to fight. “Alright Ean, how about we take a small water break, and then we can begin with the real training.” Huh, warming up only took about an hour. Was she taking mercy on you, or did you actually manage to push through and pull it off quicker? To be honest, it was probably both. You crack your knuckles, sit and lie down at the bench, and look up at the bar. This inanimate object had been taunting you for weeks. It was time to show it that it was nothing, faced with your determination. You pick up the bar, and your arms almost immediately collapse, but you manage to keep it from landing on your chest. That was close. Lisa looks at you intently. You begin to push. Muscles strain, your cracked rib aches, in fact, your whole body aches, but you keep pushing. Millimeter by millimeter, the bar rises higher and higher. The bar stops. Your arms reached their full length. Yes! You’d done it! You’d finally done it! You’d raised the bar! You set the bar down on the rack, and jump up excitedly, wincing a bit at the pain from your rib. Even with this injury, you’d managed to do it! Lisa looks upon you proudly, slapping your back once more, before turning away. “Good job, Ean. You’ve proved to be capable of training by yourself. I-it’s almost sad to say, but you’ve graduated from being my apprentice. Good luck in that big world of training out there, alright, Ean? Anytime you want to train, you can train with me.”

You almost failed on your research but luckily you know well enough of souls to salvage the operation. What you ended up making is a fairly weak soul linking spell. It will allow each members of the connection to share and access each other’s thoughts, feelings and memories at will with their minds. Similar to how modern telecommunication works (i.e. like cell phones or the internet) but much more immersive and it's inside your head. Hopefully this should help the soul fragments find each other and mentally merge into the whole being once more. Unfortunately the spell on its own only affects a relatively small area when casted. About the size of an average bedroom. Plus the spell’s soul linking effects eventually wears off if the individual steps outside of the spell’s area of effect after a few seconds. Hopefully the spell amplifier would help mitigate those flaws.
>[Weak Soul Linking Ritual] learned

You walked across the tree bridge and placed the sphere near the pillar. With the amplifier in place you raised two diagonal pillars and carefully pushed it up to the main pillar, carefully moving aside any pipes that would block the way while also careful enough not to rupture them. As the sphere reaches the top you raised two more diagonal stone pillars on the other side. With a careful final push the spell amplifier sphere is now on top of the larger main pillar. You then adjusted the positioning of the four smallers support pillars, securing the sphere in place. Good. That should do the trick. Now all that’s left is to perform the ritual on the structure itself so that the sphere can amplify it. Plus your pillar shenanigans have thought you a thing or two about structural engineering.

You looked at the pipes and you see that the amplifier sphere is making the flow of mana faster. What was once drips and trickles are now turning into full on faucets of pink mana. The pond is getting larger. You hurriedly stepped away from the pond to avoid getting splashed. The aphrodisiac effects of the pond are getting more potent that a pink mist is starting to coalesce above the pond. It seems that the sphere is indiscriminate on doing its job.

Arthur stared at the small crowd gathering around him. He certainly did not expect this when he came to pay his respects for the fallen woman. Arthur could see the fear and unease in their faces, feel it in the air. He needed to assuage their worries, somehow.

He took a deep breath, and smiled faintly at the crowd. He wasn't used to public speaking, but he would have to give his best shot.

"These are times of darkness, indeed. Students are disappearing into the woods, shadowy figures have been seen on the campus at night, and a raging monster is rampaging throughout the area. Another person has died because of this monster, and no progress seems to have been made toward finding and ending this threat. This young woman's life had been cruelly snuffed out by this beast, so early in her life. She had had a life full of laughter and joy ahead of her, and now, it is all gone."

Arthur's eyes hardened in determination. "I vow to you, now, that I will do my utmost best to protect every single one of you, and I ask you all to vow the same. We must not lose hope, and give way to fear. We must continue to defy this darkness, and continue to stand strong, together. If we let fear take us apart in these trying times, then all is lost. We must all work together, in order to end this threat, and any other threat. No one man can save us all, or protect us all from these monsters, no matter how powerful he may be, nor how determined he is. However, together, we have a strength that no one man or beast can rival, or match. Even if a True Vampire stood before us all, ready to slaughter us and everyone we knew or loved, if we all worked together, we would be able to take on any challenge ahead of us, and do more than we could ever possibly do alone. As humans, we, individually, are weak, but together, we are the mightiest force possible. I ask you all to remember that, while we face this time of peril."

Arthur's face became solemn. "However, the fight can wait, for now. We must not forget why we are here, at this ceremony. We are here to pay respects to the fallen, and this young woman in particular, and to resolve to ourselves that we must not let another fall."

With that, Arthur turned away from the crowd, and knelt before the memorial, laying a rose down in the woman's memory.

>>1365966
Arthur turned and stood, watching Jozin lay a red flower on the heap as well. He looked... not great, to be completely honest. He looked as if he were torn up inside about something. Then, he began to speak.

Vengeance... and do-gooder? Was he resentful of him for some reason? Arthur lay his hand upon his shoulder.

"Jozin... How about we sit together on that bench over there?"

Arthur looked at him with sympathy in his eyes. "I can't say I know much about revenge, no. But, I'm willing to listen to you tell me about it. Are you okay, Jozin?"

In theory, this should enable us to, let's say in one of many potential uses/example, turn a simple mobile device into a digital spellbook or magic scroll with an installable app, enabling someone to cast a spell with a push of a touchscreen button or keyboard rather than physically and/or verbally evoking any incantations I.R.L. A girl suddenly began to speak behind him, and Arthur jumped a bit, before turning to face her. A hero? If only he were. Then, these people wouldn't have died. So, the Hunters turned away this girl? Interesting.

"I am no hero, though I wish I were. I am no Hunter, either. I am simply the only son of a simple farming family, training to be a knight. Those were no empty words that I spoke. I will try my damn hardest to protect everyone, and ensure that no one else dies. You can count on that."

Arthur looked intently at the girl. Why would the Hunters turn her away? Were they afraid for her safety? Did they believe her untrustworthy? Well, it was no matter. Anyone could help.

"Alright, I'll take you under my wing, and we can search for the beast together. First thing's first, though, what's your nam-"

>>1368198
Jozin began to speak as well. He had agreed! That was great- talking it out could solve many problems. He seemed fairly wary of speaking about his problems in front of the girl, though. Tensions began to rise. He needed to defuse this situation quickly, and prevent the ceremony from breaking down. He could feel the eyes of the people staring at them.

"How about we stop disturbing this ceremony, and talk about these issues elsewhere? We don't want to be disrespectful towards the dead. There's a cafe I've eaten at a couple of times close by. How about we go there, guys, to talk things out?" Arthur pulled out his wallet and looked through it. "Beverages are on me. I think I have enough euros to pay for some drinks for us."

"Thanks, Arthur! I think I would prefer a harder drink than coffee at given circumstances, but lets get moving anyway." He flashes a bitter and weak smile. Jozin waves his hand at Suzy and stats to drag himself towards the cafe.

The potent fragrance of the freshly brewed coffee quickly fills Jozin nose and he looks a bit more relaxed then he was at the ceremony. After long minutes of silence he starts to speak. " I... Look, I went out one day looking for some fun, but I got more than I bargained for. This nerd in a cardboard armor hit me so hard that I failed to carry on with my life for nearly a month." Jozin's grip forms into a fist on the table. You can almost hear his teeth grinding. " So I figured I would infect this kid with the werebeast curse. This is a curse I have ever since I drank the blood of a werebeast. " Jozin stops for a couple of moments just to see Arthur's reaction. " Of course I knew he would cause a mess around town and he will be hunted down, but I've never thought there would be innocents falling victim to my foolish vengeance. " Jozin shifts back to lethargy. "... I didnt wanted to kill that nerd myself... I was afraid that the picture will haunt me, but I just made it worse for myself. " Jozin is on the verge of crying, but he hides his face. Then he gets up from the table and speaks quietly.
" Sorry, I changed my mind, I will buy a drink. "

"It's no problem at all, man. I was feeling like getting a nice, warm drink as well, with maybe even some churros on the side." Arthur smiled back at Jozin, before they began to walk towards the cafe together.

Arthur sat back in his chair, and waited for Jozin to begin to speak. And begin, he did. Huh, he was apparently assaulted by this kid in cardboard armor, and from the sounds of it, it was a pretty damn bad beating. So, he wanted to infect the kid with the werebeast curse, huh? Ah, that must've been what Jozin was, and why he turned into a monster that one time. His intentions... were actually completely understandable. Arthur nodded at Jozin, and he continued. Jozin seemed completely wracked in guilt over the whole situation. He almost looked like he was about to cry. Jozin... Jozin was a good man. He may not have known him for long, but Arthur knew that fact for certain- Jozin was a good man, who simply succumbed to his desire for revenge, which was understandable.

Then, Jozin stood up, and muttered something under his breath about getting some alcohol into his system. At this, Arthur frowned, stood up, and put his hand on Jozin's shoulder. "Jozin, both you and I know that drowning out your problems in alcohol, alone, won't help anything."

Arthur pulled him in for a hug. "It's alright man. It's completely reasonable for you to go after him. After getting assaulted that badly, anyone would want to make the instigator pay for what he did. You may have gone a bit too far, but your actions and intentions were reasonable. You didn't know that innocent people would die, you just wanted the cardboard armor guy to suffer for what he did to you. It's alright, man. We can fix this problem together."

Arthur pulled away from him. "How about we put this all aside, for now? It won't do us any good to stay all sad and gloomy forever. We have to remind ourselves that there's still joy and happiness in this world, at times. Let's sit back down, forget about our worries for now, and just relax. Suzy should be coming here soon. How about we all just have a fun night here, together, drinking our hot chocolate, eating churros, and maybe even playing a card game or something? I don't know about you, but that sounds good to me."
>>
>>1370323
" Kind of you to offer, but I have to refuse, as you have more important things to do right now, I think. There is a monster running around, killing people after all." Jozin starts to pick up his coat. " Dont get me wrong, your offer is tempting, but I need to find the courage to fight again." He seems to be leaving in a lot better mood than he was when you two came in. As leaves he turns his head to say something before departure. "Oh... And tell Suzy that she has the best buttocks I've ever seen! Haha!" he laughs like an idiot. That sure masked away any remaining bitterness. Then he started to walk the ever busy streets of Madrid alone once more.

Running from place to place, with little to no rest, fatigue had begun creeping on Angelia. She was currently in the middle of mapping out her future spell amplifier, when her work was interrupted.

The woman stopped in her tracks at the sound of a voice, her gaze slowly turning toward the source. She visibly relaxed a moment later, a small sigh leaving her lips. "You frightened me, I don't normally get visitors here." She offers a weak smile.

"I'm Angelica, Mistress of these wilds. I made them... quite a bit ago, as a safe haven for the Fey. The afflicted, they've told me about you. It's quite impressive how much of a reputation you've built in such a small amount of time. But, you don' want to hear that. You want information, yes? Well, i'm sorry to say I have little to share. After playing a couple of card games, and eating a few churros, it was time to get down to business. "Yeah, we should probably get down to business. I don't use the greatsword because I prefer using a longsword, though if things get dicey, I guess I can always whip out the greatsword. Now, for our plan."

Arthur stood up, and stared intently at the map. "We know that there have been several attacks around the area, and that most of the victims have been able to get free, albeit with a few injuries. An elderly woman was killed here-" Arthur circled the location of the woman's house, "and you already circled the location of the other fatality. The Hunters also told me that apparently, there had been some sort of riot at this Gamestop right here-" Arthur circled another location, "and that the monster had come from this Gamestop right here. Jozin told me, shortly before you came here, that he had infected the guy with the werebeast curse for beating him up one time, so it's probably safe to assume that Jozin and the Cardboard man fought here, at this Gamestop, and that this was where the Cardboard guy was infected."

Arthur put down the pen, and sat back down in his chair. "Damn, if the Cardboard monster has the werebeast curse, then people who were attacked by him might have it as well. We may have to check out the clinic some time. But, as of right now, our only point of interest is the Gamestop where it all began. We should probably check out the clinic some time, though. Since the Hunters are all already investigating the Gamestop, I guess we should just investigate around the city in general, find any other points of interest. Let's begin. Night is always a good time to find monsters."

[===Academy News===]
Minor reports of attacks on nearby villages have been televised in local news. It doesn’t seem to be a very major threat, and most believe it is merely a few fey causing ruckuses. No reports of deaths or casualties have been noted, though a few people seem to have gone missing. Some hysterical conspiracists say that the eldritch gods have returned to kill us all, but it’s obviously just a few insane fear mongers trying to make themselves famous.

There have been reports by some students that the enchanted woods by the school have grown to be almost impenetrable. The trees have all turned black, and a steady mist expands from the area. Cobwebs have been seen on every tree, and some teachers have reported that the streams coming from the woods are entirely full of a black liquid, that would be extremely unwise to touch. The school administration has stated that examining the woods, or even nearing them, is extremely unadvisable. Teachers will be patrolling the borders of the enchanted woods from now on. First years are strictly forbidden from entering, second years may only come close if they are in a group, and third years have been tasked with examining what is occurring in the woods. Some third years have already vanished, to the dismay of the staff. Most of the students have taken to calling the previous enchanted woods the “Grimwood”.

The Deertaur had stopped diplomatic communications with the academy several weeks ago, but now they have left a worrying message pinned to the front gate of the school. It was in some sort of black parchment, and written in blood. “We are coming.” Principal Hernandez states that all students and staff must be on guard, and that a curfew is now being put in place- all students must be in their dormitories by 10:30 PM.

Principal Hernandez has reestablished the old school organization, [The Watch]. You may sign up in order to help patrol the school, and see whether any problems are arising. However, being a member of [The Watch] requires that one spend at least one action every other turn to patrol the school, at little to no personal benefit. Every three actions of patrolling the school will earn the student a League Point, up until the cap of 9. A tenth League Point may be earned by finding something particularly important, or putting down a major threat. Missing one of these actions results in probation from [The Watch]. Missing two will result in being kicked from [The Watch].

Sign-ups are now open for the inter-academy tournament.

This time, you won’t let this bento defeat you. You will triumph ! You cook like a man possessed, almost feeling the spirits of hundreds of Japanese mothers that made bento for their children watching over you. You sculpt the sausages into cute octopi, you make sure everything is colorful and in harmony, you even shape the rice so it looks like a cute cat. When you’re done, you take a step back, panting. Encouraged by your success, you meet with Kyoko, and you two have a picnic in the park before you practice archery in the woods nearby. She takes the first bite out of the bento you made, and you can almost see the surprise on her face. “This is delicious ! Like, I didn’t even think you could make rice THAT tasty ! How did you even do that ?” You explain every single step of the process as Kyoko devours the bento. You let her finish her job. Once she’s done, she finally notices. “Good to see you, Markus. We’re pretty busy today, there’s a madman on the loose, so we’re getting a lot of wounded.”

She grabs you by the shoulder, and whispers in your ear : “I have an important job for you. Don’t tell anyone, but the wounds might be infected. The madman is a lycanthrope.” She hands you a small vial. Looking at the label, you discover that it’s a solution of silver hydroxide. “I want you to inject every patient with this. It should suppress the infection in its early stages. If they ask what this is for, you can tell them the truth, just make sure they don’t panic.” The explanation done, she goes back to treating the patients. “The syringes are in the same place as usual.”

You go to work immediately, injecting the students here with the substance Kiru handed to you. When some of your patients complain about the pain, you also give them a mild anesthetic, as well as a few reassuring words to those still in shock from the werewolf attacks. You leave the infirmary tired, but satisfied, and earn a silent nod of appreciation from your master as you’re going out of the door.

With your spirits dragging on the floor, you decide that a walk to clear your mind should be good for you. And you start wandering the empty streets of Madrid. You start to notice how the Earth Elemental Outpost has transformed the city and everything around it. Sure Madrid is not like it used to be. But still you are fascinated by the beautiful gems found in the Markets, and how the architecture has been transformed around the city. The school, the town, everything feels different, yet familiar. You’re still getting used to the sight of the earth elemental settlement looming over the horizon, the fact that the cooking club is now surrounded by a forest.

You find yourself stumbling upon a small bar. You could use a drink, you enter the building, and sit at the bar. The bartender, a man named Frederico, gives you a nod of acknowledgement, and puts a drink in front of you. It’s a tall glass of orange liquid, decorated with a grapefruit slice. “You don’t look so good, my friend. This might help you, if only a little.” You spend the night at the bar, getting more and more inebriated, but you don’t feel bad. You talk about Remi, the marriage, how you couldn’t even see him before leaving. The drinks feel bitter, but at the same time, they also carry a sweet aftertaste, like the promise of a brighter tomorrow. You leave the bar, your legs shaky, just in time to see the sunrise. Even the darkest night will end with a beautiful morning. Or something, you’re too drunk to do philosophy.

>DO: Learn about summoning circles, since I've seen summoners using symbols on objects. Maybe I can inscribe symbols on my bass once I learn about these.
You do some research in the library and find more about summoning circles. You find out more about the process of summoning. It talks about how a circle was the basis for summoning and that there were many cases where people have enchanted an item with a summoning circles and in some other case, a small rune. Depending on the complexity and the similarity of the rune to the circle, this will affect the spell being used. The magic circle will be more work but can be precise and mistakes can be fixed easily wherein compared to a rune, it is harder to learn, much easier to do in the longshot but can also be more problematic when mistakes are made. There was more talk on the similarities and how the smallest line could have more of a effect on a rune rather. The book also mentioned the the circle and rune will also be affected by the conduciveness of your item when channeling mana through it.

Alexis is easy enough to find, as you catch him as he’s finished with teaching his summoning class. “Ah, Onesworth. Hello there.” You ask him about summoning, and he explains it to you after you find a bench to sit on. He tells you that it is best to perform a summoning on the school grounds, particularly the ritual rooms. They are warded and protected against most of the summons as long as they aren’t particularly powerful. If a summoning goes wrong, it is best to have a banishment or containment spell ready. When you ask him if he can supervise your first summoning, he tells you that he’s too busy right now, but he's certain that someone of your skill can pull it off.

Heeding Alexis’ advice, you go to one of the many pre-built summoning circles in the ritual rooms. Your spell is a simple one. Did you do it wrong? You look around but can’t see the elemental. When you turn to leave, you feel more wind. What was that? You look closely and you see it, a Sylph. It’s transparent and small, and air seems to flow around it. The thing looks at you curiously, and you’re excited to know that you’ve done it.

>Using my force spell and my various crafting expertise, I attempt to spellcraft a General/Core "Disassemble Object" Spell.
The concept of “disassembling something” is harder to put in spell form that seems. To encompass every single object, you’d need to actually give your spell the ability to learn, to evolve, to understand new systems. You start working on you new spell feverishly, giving it the ability to understand structures, to learn, and to remember. It’s almost an artificial mind, manifesting as an invisible force. You pull an all-nighter to put the finishing touches to your creation.

Finally, you cast your spell on an old mana blaster prototype. It extends force feelers, and starts touching the item. Before long, the spell starts working, putting apart the weapon. In only a few minutes, the prototype is now a small pile of parts. This is a great success !

But there’s a problem. It seems like your spell hasn’t stopped working with its task complete. Instead, it floats to a nearby computer, and starts disassembling it. You try to stop it, but it seems to have its own life. You’re start panicking. If this thing keeps going, your clubroom will soon be a landfill. You materialize a steel cube around the spell, trapping it. But inside, you can still hear it moving, taking something apart part by part. How long until it starts disassembling its prison ?
>You created the [Force Disassembler]

Perhaps even names and places that will help further our investigation.

In your effort to contact the Principal of the Academy, you get sidetracked within the administration building meeting with the secretary of the Vice-Principal instead. The secretary seems to be a brass man with a bigger mouth than ears. Asking you in a bombastic voice who are you, why are you here, multiple times. You measure your words as carefully as possible saying you wish to set an appointment with Principal Hernandez about some club activities he may have sponsored in the past. >The Humanoid Golem Skeletal Framework has been lying around the workshop for ages now, collecting dust. Perhaps now is the time to finally think about activating it. But first I will have to research how to properly activate a golem so that the operation will run smoothly. I shall go to the library to study more about golems and how they are activated. Perhaps Librarian Athena can also help me on researching this seeing that she is a golem herself.

Golems are a complicated subject. You decide to delve deeper into the subject of golemancy. After taking some books from the shelves, you consult Athena about it. She explains that all golems are powered by their Anima. Anima is essentially the golem equivalent of a soul, or of their lifeforce. These are typically housed inside Golem Animation Cores, and these cores serve as the heart of the golem. If these cores are damaged, the golem is more prone to energy loss and damage, thus most people opt to install these cores onto the chest area, as it is the most easily defensible. Athena then explains that it is possible for a golem to have multiple cores, allowing them to function even after the destruction of another core, though this is rare.

You learn many things about golems from Athena. As is turns out, the creation of a core has many different processes. The typical method is to charge this core with power, allowing them some semblance of intelligence. Another rarer method is to power a core with enough mana that it would create an artificial soul, much like a human. This creates a pseudo-elemental of mana that resides within the golem. Other methods include binding a spirit or elemental to the core itself. Certain taboo paths include binding a human soul into the golem, but this is rare and is typically frowned upon, especially so if the soul is unwilling. Interesting stuff. When the lecture finishes, it seems that it’s fairly late. You decide to head home, and Athena tells you to return should you have more questions for her.

>>Using my knowledge of Runes, Magic, mana and Programming, let's see if we can develop a programming language that can be used for arcane purposes. Another example would be to make a spell that casts itself upon reaching triggers or conditions the mage programmer set it on. It will be pretty much how mages from ancient times set arcane traps for their wizard towers but more modernized.

You begin laying down the framework for a programming language, but in runes and magical sigils rather than the conventional languages of the world. This is, quite frankly, a massive undertaking. You’ve heard other projects attempt the same before, but they never really got through. You, Caiden and Camille get to work on the base of the code. Integrating the magic symbols onto a computer system is easy enough, but having them actually do anything is difficult, to say the least. It seems that without a proper computer that uses mana, the runes are nothing more than a group of pictures on the screen. Thus, you endeavor to create a computer system that can handle magical energy. Ordering computer parts seems like a step in the right direction, but you decide to go beyond that by using that circuit press to carve mana circuitry onto plates of metal, then integrating that with normal computer pieces. The result? A very bulky computer. Still, you’re certain that this thing can handle your programs now.

Now it’s time to test your theory. After booting the computer up, you try and use your programming language on it. You do this by using the most basic of all runes: mana. As expected, the rune on the screen glows a pale blue, indicating the fact that it is currently powered. Success. It’s far from the most complex of programming languages, that’s for sure. While this program only uses the most basic of runes, and is fairly rudimentary, you’re certain that as it progresses, it can definitely be useful in the future.

Even with the coffee, scheduling a meeting after lunchtime is a bad idea. Everyone is feeling sleepy and reluctant to brainstorm ideas for runes and sigils to make everything more robust and precise. You and Agata start to notice how some of the simpler words about logic, (things like: and, or, if), are the most difficult to try to compact into readable runes. But then the members of the club start to argue about the goals of the project. Some start to question if a programming language should be really something binary and mechanical, and others start to question why not make something like a speech to code module, and some even start to question why runecraft at all.

Between the chaos of the arguing, some of their points of view spark some new ideas into how to solve the logical processes of the sigils and runes with simpler and direct symbols rather than using multiple runes to represent a single word. Sure, everything took more than expected but at least you have made some progress on the character set.

>Learn to multicast conjure dragon claws in both hands

You learn from your past attempt. This time you think that you got the gist of it and decided to try again today. You went to a quiet open clearing and concentrated. You attempt to recall the claw that you summoned once before. Silver scales… Golden Vorpal Talons.... The feeling of your hand being transfigured… Unleashing a portion of your true untamed power within… Releasing your inner light within your soul… Harnessing the power of your radiant lineage… Soon you can feel the comforting warmth of your arcane energies flowing from within you as it gently flows to your shoulders, arms, forearms, wrists, palm and finally the tip of your fingers. As before your dominant hand began to shine brightly as it prepares to shift in form. Soon your other hand began to feel the change as well. With a brilliant shine of light they gradually dim, revealing their new draconic forms. You did some stretching exercises for your hands, wrist and fingers to get their muscles acclimated with the new form. Afterwards you started practicing claw swipes and combat maneuvers with them. They are as sharp as before. You did noticed that the talon that broke off from before has now been replaced with a new one. That’s good. They regrow fairly quick.

You still feel some excess draconic mana inside you. Not letting it go to waste you channel the surplus to one of your legs. You can feel the arcane energy flowing from your hips, thighs, knee, shin, ankle, foot and finally from the tip of your toes. As with your hands it gradually transforms into a solid mass of light, exploded in a blinding burst of light, revealing that draconic feet have now replaced your foot. Walking around like this is pretty awkward and uneven. This will surely hinder your movements in combat. You concentrated again, transferring the draconic energies from one of your hand to your other foot. Soon the hand reverts back to its human form and the other feet changes into taloned dragon feet. You jumped around and sprinted a bit. It’s more comfortable to move around with than before though such heavy sets feet on delicate human legs shows its obvious drawback. Still, kicking with these feet can certainly do a lot of damage if done right.

Abby Dragfirm

She didn't know much herself, but she told and showed everything she knew.

"I don't know much, having just enrolled a few months ago. I only know about dragon transformation spells, some krav maga, dragon summoning, oh! I can fly" as I conjure my wings. "I really am not sure what I can offer other than these. I do know some plant language. I even have Roseberry, a chameleon suit I got from the plant women and a Moonlight plant I got from a seed i found around these areas but I don't think these can help." Abby looks nervously at Angelica as she's probably said too much. too fast.

"Hm I don't know how useful that would be..." Angelica mutters, rubbing her chin in thought. "Well, would you mind sticking around for a big project I have? If things go wrong, well, I hope you'd be able to get me help."
