You're a priest from the southern land of Fauland. You've come north to Tairmora to warn the towns which have been cut off from society about the Malformed threat.

Malformed are malicious misshapen demons which consume and devour all in their path. When they take over a town it becomes their breeding ground, and the spirits of that town cannot rest until it is purified.

After saving a pixie from the snow she travels with you on your sacred quest to save the north!
------------

Notes:
>Priest Anon uses holy magic
>Your holy magic becomes stronger the more good deeds you do.
>It will weaken if you choose to do morally ambiguous or bad things.
>Regular weapons can kill Malformed, but it is generally far more effective to use holy magic or holy blessed weapons or bullets.
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
>You look up and try to compare where the sun is rising and which direction it's raising to find the true north and compare that to the map.
>While doing that you ask Veronica to fly up and get a look around.
>So chilly up here.
>It certainly feels a long way from your southern home in Fauland.
>"Well, I saw a path of sorts over to the right someways along that way, it's narrow, but there are certain trees missing which form a path. I'm thinking someone might have laid a path here once."
"If the people who live here travel this route often, maybe they've just memorized where to go by now."
>You tread onto a narrowly defined path and follow the map.
>Veronica is tucked away in your hood.
>"Whew, I don't think I could make it out here without you. It's freezing out here, even with my new clothes."
"Your body is too tiny for this weather."
>"Brr. it was never this cold back in the village."
>At least there won't be any danger of her stripping.
>Even still, that thought from this morning.
>The sight of her nudeness.
>What would it be like to touch upon her soft Pixie skin?
>No! You mustn't succumb to such impure thoughts.
>To see it in your mind brings you great shame.
>"I smell distress. Are you feeling well Anon?"
"I-i'm fine, everything is well!"
>Oh no.. You've just lied, tis another sin.
>Verily you have fallen.
>You will have to pray extra hard tonight to absolve yourself of these sins.
>>
>>1362377
>You arrive at Alpek.
>The smell of brimstone and fire looms.
>Cackling and crying.
>You and Veronica approach.
>Walls have been demolished.
>Parts of the town are in ruin.
>People are running about in a strange manner.
>One person runs up to you.
>He shakes you.
>"Y-you got money? GIVE ME MONEY!"
"Ah, calm yourself I have nothing!"
>He scoffs.
>"Bah, worthless tourist anyway."
>You sigh.
>"A welcoming lot these people are aren't they?"
>You see corpses collecting maggots and flies stuffed halfway in containers.
>You see drunkards stumbling through the streets.
>As you pass you see two people fornicating in an alleyway.
>"They sure are.. Carefree aren't they Anon?"
>You take in a deep breath.
"They have no decency."
>Some people are happily skipping along the streets.
>A gleefully insane look in their eyes.
>"We should try to look for lodging right."
"Oh dear, we're going to have to stay in this dreadful place aren't we?"
>"Uh huh. Makes you wonder if the humans are worth saving, huh Anon?"
"Let's just look for the Inn."
------
>Sometime later after passing through more of Alpek you find a place of lodging.
>"Eh, what do you want! Whatever it is, we ain't got any!"
>A piece of pottery hits the wall next to you.
>You cautiously move forward.
"We mean no harm. This place is the Inn is it not?"
>"Eh? You tourists?"
"Well sort of-"
>"Well why didn't you say so?! Come on in!"
"O-oh, well thank you, you have no idea how inhospitable this place has been so far."
>"Oh I know, it's certainly gone downhill."
"So, you're saying it wasn't like this at one point?"
>"I've got a room upstairs for you if you're interested."
"Yes, but I mean, the town-"
>She grabs you by the collar.
>"You do have money don't you?"
"W-well-"
--------
>You get tossed out of the Inn.
>"And stay out you bum!"
>She slams the inn's entrance.
"Well, it's not like one can stay at an Inn for free anywhere else either."
>"But you're a priest."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
>"Anyhow, that Inn looked horribly run down. I'd be fine sleeping outside the city."
"I don't blame you, this place is horrible."
>As you're walking along you bump into someone.
>He's wearing black priest robes with red trimmings.
"O-oh, I'm terribly sorry."
>"Watch where you're going you-"
>He collects himself.
>"Oh, my.. You must be that priest I heard was coming from Mortenal."
>"What gave it away?"
>"O-oh, and it seems you have a little flying friend."
"Yes. Listen, we're looking for a place to stay."
>"Please, come to the church, we mustn't linger outside."

>The church is a dark elaborate looking cathedral in the middle of town. Upon entry you get an uneasy feeling.
>The interior is red and black, and looks, glib and macabre rather than bright and pure.
>"Our church is.. You could say a little unorthodox."
"I-i see.."
>"My name is Father Gurnyop. I lead the church in Alpek and guide the fair citizens of this city."
>Veronica speaks,
>"Well, you've been doing an awfully poor job father. This place is a dump."
"Veronica!"
>"What? It's true."
>"We encourage, more free spirited actions."
"Free spirited?"
>"Too long have people been oppressed by rules, by pretentious priests who want to keep the people under their thumb. Their pride and arrogance, it's unfitting of the name priest. So I've taken it upon myself to show the way. All people under the new bible shall do what they want. Commit adultery, sleep with whomever they desire, man or beast in any public setting they so choose without shame. They may lie, rape, and murder, and steal. They can do whatever they so choose so long as it is a desire of their heart."
"W-what?! What sort of crooked church is this?!"
>The pastor snickers.
>"I did say it was unorthodox."
>He snaps his fingers.
>A harem of sexy nude females emerge from the backdoors.
>"You're a virgin little priest, I can smell it on you! Go on, all of these women will take care of you. You may lay with any of them, and all of them to your hearts content! Be not bound by rules and reason! Give in to temptation! It is the only way to truly be at one with the world!"
>The women have surrounded you grinding themselves on you.
>Their soft nude bodies feel warm.
>Your mind feels like it's caught in a haze.

I should give in to temptation
I shouldn't give in to temptation
>>
>>1362386
>I shouldn't give in to temptation
Veronica is our waifu, not these harlots!
>>
>>1362386
>Do not give into tempetion, instead ask the man for a debate between this new and old religions!

Yo QM because I'm rather confused or just blind. Can you tell us more about the 'holy order or religion we apparently hail from?
>>
>>1362426
For all intensive purposes just assume it's something akin to Christianity or Catholicism. Crosses, holy symbols, the works.
>>
>>1362434

New or old testament? Also rip lewding the fairy. Man cannot lay with beasts.
>>
>>1362441
I mean, depends on your definition. Of beast don't it?

But yeah,
>Don't fall into temptation.
>>
>>1362452
Well unless the fairy is a sub-race of human then it would count as a 'beast' like the malformed. Ontop of that depending upon which Christian 'group' I guess you could say would determine if we could even look at women as wives.

Fuck me for taking stupid shit in college and needing to ask these questions lol.
>>
>>1362460
>>1362434
But this is magical Christianity or Catholicism we're talking about, aren't these fairies like tiny humans with wings?
>>
>>1362399
This. Save the lewd stuff for the pixie.
>>
>>1362386
>I shouldn't give in to temptation
There's still man-eating demons on the loose around here.
>>
>>1362386
>I shouldn't give in to temptation
>>
>>1362386
>I shouldn't give in to temptation
Get that nasty lewd shit away from us
>>
>>1362386
>I shouldn't give in to temptation
Also, punch the Satanist in the face.
>>
>>1362386

I shouldn't give in to temptation
Is this the option that get us raped?
Also i dont think if this town goten eaten narthing would be lost
>>
>>1362751
One dosnt just puch a prist
You got to thow salt in his face
Also just tell him whats happening then be on our way
>>
>>1362805
Fine, here's the order of operations:
>throw salt at his face
>punch him in the face
>tell him his degeneracy will cost this town it's life
>tell him about the malformed
>If he's pro-malformed repeat steps 1 and 2 until he is no longer pro-malformed
>>
>>1362809
Are we going to make this town grate again?
Rebuild the wall
Also il say the pixy isnt a beast
So can lwed her
Omh she can fit inside the pussy
>>
>>1362811
Time to Make Alpek Great Again
(I see what you did there Pastorboy)
>>
>>1362809
Why would we salt and punch him. It's just our healthy desires to remain oure.
>>
>>1362876
>guy turns village into a dangerous shithole
>is obviously an impure and evil satanist
>his actions has rendered the village unable to defend itself from even minor malformed
>nah man we shouldn't punch him
Reconsider your opinion anon
>>
>>1362884
Well we are currently outnumbered and covered in 'supposed' females. Who if we punch him may very well suddenly get much more aggressive including the fact we would need to rush out of the city before being killed by those assholes. Salt and holy water is important stuff we shouldn't just waste on stupid idoits.
>>
>>1362896
That is a fair point, but this town needs help, and who else will help it if not us?
>>
>>1362912
They seem violent enough; maybe they'll be able to fight the Malformed off.
Mundane weapons still work, after all.

Or we could make a safe space protected by salt, and get any children we can round up in there. Give them an object lesson of why rules and working together is better than rampant self-interest when the Malformed come to feast on the adults.
>>
>>1362386

>I shouldn't give in to temptation
>Holy Light+Pixie help
>Use holy salt if you have it.

"Rules are what prevent society to fall into chaos, without rules humans are worse than animals and fall prey to evil!"
>Run away if it looks like you are losing, letting yourself and the pixie fall would be a great sin.
>>
>>1362912
Honestly, we might have to just withdrawl for the time being. Or a debate with the other priest over everything. I mean he did say do what the heart wants right?
>>
>>1363038
Right now, my heart wants to punch him in the face for badmouthing the church
We have protected the masses from the malformed for generations, and he has the gall to say that we're the problem?
>>
>>1363042

His not saying we are the issue just the the rules the curchs gose by are too strict and pointless(some of them) i mean just look at all the pedos and other shit that gose down

>You feel the temptation.
>But you know you shouldn't give in.
>You struggle against it.
>These women are truly beautiful, their hair, their bodies, it's all so attractive to you.
>It takes tremendous control not to want to stare.
>Their eyes looking lustfully at you.
>He laughs.
>"Our pure virgin priest seems to struggle when presented with such a golden opportunity doesn't he?"
He seems to be talking to Veronica.
>"You.. You're tempting him!"
>He's grinning smugly.
>"And why is it tempting to him? It's almost like theres a part of him, deep down inside that wants to succumb. To let loose and ravage these women."
>Veronica blushes folding her arms.
>"Come on Anon, fight it!"
>You take salt from your satchel and throw it at Gurnyop.
>He yells out in agony clutching his eyes.
>"Agh!"
>You push the women off you.
>You run over and punch him in the face
>He falls to the ground.
"Rules are what prevent society to fall into chaos, without rules humans are worse than animals and fall prey to evil!"
>He laughs getting back up.
>"Because removing the temptation gets rid of the desire right?"
"Of course. You're tempting these people telling them to succumb to their desires."
>He wraps his arm around the waist of one of the women.
>He kisses into her messily.
>He pulls up wiping the spit from his face.
>The woman giggles a little.
>"You could say I'm just giving them the freedom to choose. Murder is illegal, and so is stealing. But when I removed the punishment suddenly everyone started doing it."
"Because YOU made it so appealing!"
>He strokes her chin.
>"And tell me, does prohibition work?"
"What?"
>"When you remove the direct temptation, people still choose to sin. Even you, a priest who's lived his entire life in chastity can hardly contain yourself when it comes to raw sexual desire."
>You grit your teeth.
>"Face it, you're just as much an animal as the demons you people in the south choose to fight. Don't you see that it is unnatural to fight against your own inherent desires?"
"You.. You know of the demons then? Then you must cease! They're coming, they're coming north! And they will consume this place! You must cease this degeneracy and instill reason back into Alpek before it is too late!"
>"Humans are too consumed with their self righteousness. They boast about a holy order free from sin, and yet every priest is just as much a sinner as the average citizen. Pathetic, don't you think?"
"Veronica.."
>"Right!"
>You blast him with a shot of holy energy.
>He screams getting blown back against a church column.
>The pillar collapses onto him crushing him.
>>
>>1363144
>You let out a sigh of relief.
>"Well, that takes care of that, but what now?"
"We try and restore order the best we can."
>Suddenly a blast of dark magic hits you knocking you back against the wall.
>"Such foolishness."
>You struggle to move.
>Gurnyop walks over to Veronica still flying on her own.
>"Why ally yourself with a human? Aren't you aware of the pixie slave trade?"
>She balls her fists.
>He continues to speak.
>"Humans are naturally sinful creatures. Even your priest friend isn't above being tempted. You should realize that humans and Pixies can never truly be friends."
>"They.. Can never truly be friends?"
>She looks back at you.
"Ngh, don't listen!"
>"Thats right. As pure as he is, he'll never rid himself of his inherently sinful nature. Better for humans to simply go back to nature and consume all that there is without any regard for our moral sensibilities."
>She flies over to you.
>She uses her magic on you.
>You feel like you're less wounded.
>You stand up.
>"And yet still you resist."
"Silence!"
>You blast him again using Veronica as a buffer for your magic.
>He takes the brunt of your magic remaining standing and only being moved back a few inches from the force.
>"Ngh, admittedly you are strong. Fortunately for me, this town is so consumed by it's sin and desire I am nearly invulnerable to your attacks!"
"You're.. You're feeding on the sin of this town? But how?"
>He snickers.
>"That is not for you to know."
>He blasts you again.
>Veronica heals you a little bit.
>"We should retreat! He's too strong!"
"R-right.."
>You run away as fast as you can out of the church.
>"You can run priest, but you can never hide from your own desires!"
-----------
-----------
>You're outside the town in a nearby cave.
"That man.. He wielded dark energy. And it seems he is able to utilize sin and desire to make himself stronger."
>Veronica silently stares out of the cave looking over at the town.
>"Right.."
"Veronica?"
>"Do you think, humans and Pixies can ever truly be friends?"

>Realize that Gyrnop's greatest weapon isn't his dark magic
>It's his silver tongue
>Tell Veronica
Gyrnop is a clever speaker, I'll give him that.
I'll even give him the fact that there are some human beings who are nothing more than wolves in disguise.
But the vast majority are not such people
All he's done is let the wolves out of their cages, and let them feast upon the rest.
Of course everyone here are wolves, that's the inevitable conclusion to such a society.
But I doubt he cares about humans either way, because he is certainly not one.
And I mean that literally, as in he's a daemon in disguise.

>She smiles.
>"Thanks Anon."
>She looks up at you.
"I.. I'm sorry, earlier, when you rode in my hood."
>"Huh?"
"Before we came to Alpek, you asked me if everything is well. I lied to you. I.. I had thoughts about when I saw you in the nude. Forgive me. It seems I'm every bit as prone to sin as Gurnyop foretold I would be."
>Silence for a moment.
>She flies up onto you lap.
>She leans her back into your stomach.
>"You did nothing wrong."
"What? But.. I-"
>"Its not like you meant any harm. Even if you thought about me like that.. I wouldn't mind."
"V-veronica."
>"You're one of the purest and kindest beings I've ever met. You went back to a town even when they all rejected you. Even when faced with the fact that you might die for selfish and undeserving people. You stood your ground. And on top of that, you saved me. I wouldn't be alive still searching for my sister if it weren't for you."
>Your heart pounds.
>You want to hold her..
>She looks up at you.
>"If, you want to touch me right now, you can."
>You feel yourself swell with desire.
>Slowly you move your hands onto her body.
>She feels so soft and warm.
>You pick her up and hold her gently against your chest.
>She outstretches her arms laying against your chest with a smile on her face.
>You feel her warmth on you.
>She giggles.
>"I can feel your big heart beating against me."
>You blush laughing a little.
"You feel warm Veronica."
>"So do you Anon."
>You and Veronica cuddle together staring up at the night sky.
>A crescent moon looms over the town.
"I'm.. I'm worried about the townsfolk. This town is much bigger than Mortenal."
>"We'll save them, if anyone can, it's you."
"His greatest strength isn't his dark magic it's his silver tongue. He spoke quickly moving from deception to deception without allowing the time to unravel each one. But they are still deceptions we must be wary of."
>"We should try to find a way to get the townsfolk back to normal. But how?"
"I don't know. I doubt sprinkling holy water or blasting people with light is really going to convince them not to give in to their desires."
>"True. But if we allow a town this huge to fall to the Malformed.."
"You're right, the north would be doomed."

There are three type of people in this world:
Sheep
Shepherds
And Wolves
The few sheep left in Alpek need protection from the wolves.
The only true shepherd here is us.
As such, it's our duty to seek out the wolves and ask them a simple but very important question:
The sword or the leash?
>I AM THE LAW
>>
>>1363262
Pray for guidance.

Can't really think of anything else. It will take nothing short of miracle to convince the people to turn away from this debauchery in time to protect themselves and their close ones from the hordes of grotesque creatures.

A rousing speech of heroism, inspiration and mass evangelisation might work, if we can find a suitably public place and summon an audience (with a bell or something). Coming up with a suitable speech will also take some divine inspiration eh...

Don't know if this setting is different, but humans are generally decent at morals, and laws are more for preventing mob justice than preventing individual acts of murder and rape and stuff. So if those things are happening, there's probably some sort of outside source.
If so, mayhaps the dark priest is making a feedback loop, where he draws power from the town and influences them right back to giving him more power. Perhaps there's a mechanism of sorts that can get broken, ideally severing both sides of the situation.

>There are people smearing blood all over the walls.
>"Yes, yes, praise Lord SATAN for pleasure!"
>"Darkness will consume us, and our ecstasy will never end!"
>With each stroke of the paintbrush they seem to writhe rhythmically in pleasure.
>In the distance you can hear a mighty pipe organ in the city.
"Stop right there! What are you doing? Who's blood is that?"
>"Haha, human and rams blood! An appeasement to the unholy ones!"
>"They will show us the path to darkness!"
"You fools! This unholy practice will only stop holy water and salt from being effective within the city!"
>"What has Gurnyop done to these poor people?"
"It would seem they're just doing his bidding because it makes them feel good."
>"This is bad.."
>You both decide to run into town.
>Everyone you pass has a dazed look on their face.
>Its a look of complete ecstasy.
>"Yes.. Darkness will consume us."
>"Praise be to the Malformed."
>You continue walking through the town as the sound of the organ gets louder.
>Within some of the houses you can hear crying.
>Curiously you enter one of the houses.
>"Anon! What are you doing?"
"Someone might be resisting this awful nonsense!"
>You look around spying a little girl.
>As you approach winces and screams.
>"No, please don't hurt me!"
"Shh, we're here to help."
>She's trembling in fear.
>Veronica flies over to her.
>"It's fine sweetie, we're gonna make everything better ok?"
>She sniffles.
>"C-can you make Mommy come back too?"
"W-what?"
>"The church needed volunteers for something, an offering. Mommy hasn't come back in 3 days, the noises outside are so scary.. I miss mommy."
"You poor child.."
>Veronica hugs her.
>Veronica then speaks to you.
>"What should we do?"
"I guess just try to get all the people who haven't been affected the hell out of this city. Maybe they can stay safe in the cave."
>"Will that work?"
"It's our only option I think."

>So one by one you look around the city gathering people who haven't lost their minds taking them out of the city.
>By the end you have about 55 people, most are children.
>You guide them safely to the cave and put a barrier of salt around the cave entrance.
"Stay here.. We're going to take back the city."
-------

>You arrive at the church.
>Gurnyop is playing the organ.
>"I was beginning to think you'd abandoned this town little priest!"
"Never! Your reign of evil ends here Gurnyop!"
>"That's right, you're going to pay for what you did to this city!"
>"I don't think so! By midnight tonight the Malformed will arrive in full force to devour this town and everyone in it! The people here have spoken, they've given into sin! You're too late priest! Humanity will fall! Nature will take it's course!"
>You use Veronica to buffer your light magic and blast Gurnyop but it dissipates before even reaching him.
>"Light is useless, my organ is channeling every bit of evil in this city. I'm practically an UNHOLY GOD the way I am now!"
>"T-this isn't good."
"By God.."
>"Now! A little taste of what is to come! Arise servants of evil!"
>From the ground fleshy humanoid abominations with writhing tentacles and misshapen arms and bodies arise.
>Their eyes are black and empty and they seem hungry.
"Agh.. The noise from his organ is so loud!"
>"I know, it's hurting my ears!"
>"Feast on their flesh my precious minions! Show them what happens when you are driven solely by desire and the will to feed!"

What is it that you will do?

Okay, so eventually we have to disable the organ. We can't do so via magic because we'd be overpowered as it is, so we'll have to resort to physical stuff.
We'll quickly need something to defend ourselves from the abominations - hand-to-hand combat probably isn't our best option.
It's likely he'd win both a battle of attrition and an all-out fight, so maybe we should see if we can break up some of the evil in the town, then return in time to destroy his weakened power?

"Veronica, we have to destroy that Organ!"
>"But how?"
"Follow me!"
>You rush past the hordes of fleshy humanoid abominations toward the organ.
>Approaching it and being this close makes you feel weak and sick.
>You bear it and throw all your holy water and salt at it.
>You wait for it to stop but nothing happens.
"B-but how!?"
>"The blood the people of this town put up completely negates whatever holy works you try to use. Your light, your holy water, your salt, nothing within the barrier will work!"
"Impossible!"
>He blasts you with darkness.
>"Anon!"
>"Hahaha! Now you realize how pointless it is!"
>She rushes over to you healing you.
>You run past the abominations getting out of the church.
>"What now!?"
"We try to wash away the blood! It's our only chance!"
>You run through town looking for a well.
>In the middle of town you find it.
>As you draw up the pail you see the entire well has been filled with garbage and blood.
"Eugh!"
>"Now what?"
"I'm thinking! Hmm.. What if we went out and melted the snow?"
>"The snow?"
"Yeah, but first we need to find salt."
>You look around in random buildings.
>While looking around in one you fall through the floorboards.
>You fumble around, Veronica lights up the area.
>It's a bunch of holy relics.
>"What the heck is all this stuff doing here?"
"I'm not sure.. There sure are a lot of holy artifacts."
>Shields, swords, weapons, salt..
>"What's this?"
>She points to a chest before blowing the dust off it.
>You open the chest.
>Inside is some kind of metal and wood gun with a hollow tank affixed on the back.
>You unscrew the cap on the tank.
>Inside is the distinct smell of Holy Water.
>Veronica flies into the chest.
>She lifts up a belt with other tanks attached.
>"What on earth is this?"
"It seems to be a replica of a holy relic from the early days. Back when all we knew how to fight the demons with was holy water."
>"How does it work?"
"Well, if I've read my history books right, the tanks are designed to be filled with holy water. When the cap is screwed on, pressure builds up and when you squeeze the trigger it causes a jet of water to squirt out."
>"Will the holy water be any good though?"
"It's still good, it just doesn't perform it's function because of the unholy blood everywhere. But if we can wash it all away, it should be usable again."

What will you do?

>>
>>1363759
Could we make small barriers of salt at strategic locations just outside of the Dark Magic's effects?
>>

Take a small melee weapon too
Now that we know there are ways to block our holy magic, we need to prepare for those situations.
>>

Melt the snow, fill our holy water tank with it, equip shield and mace. Maybe take a backup dagger too. Make strategic salt barriers, maybe recruit any of the uncorrupted adult townsfolk too, burn any places if necessary. Headpat Veronica for being so helpful.

>>1363801
Aren't there people who'll live there once we save the town?
>>
>>1363886
Priests used maces because they weren't allowed to "spill blood", you can bludgeon someone to death without causing them to bleed, externally that is.
>>
>>1363924
So killing someone by crushing their skulls is fine but spilling blood isn't?
Can't we let them bleed in self-defense? What about using a collapsible baton as a backup weapon if that's the case?
>>

"Spilling blood" was an euphemism for killing someone, they decided to take it literally instead of metaphorically. Actually spilling blood.

>It takes about an hour, but you're pretty sure you covered the necessities.

>You instinctively spray them with the holy water.
>Upon contact it seems to snap them to their senses.
"Can you hear me?"
>They don't respond, still caught in a haze, but you get the sense that they don't possess particularly wicked intentions anymore.
>You hose down those you get in your way and make your way to the church.

>"W-what?! But how?"
"Say your prayers 'priest', the real messenger of God has come to exact his righteous vengeance upon thee."

"Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. May God have mercy on your soul."
>"You-!"
>You pull the trigger as the holy water eats a hole through him dissolving him into nothing.
>Suddenly the church bell rings.
>It's midnight.
>You hear the roar of the malformed.
>There are no gates and you didn't have time to lay a salt barrier.
>Guess theres only one thing to do.
>You walk through the town, 8 foot tall lumbering Malformed start pouring into the streets in droves.
>You hose them down with the gun eliminating them.
>Winged Malformed from the sky appear.
>They attack some of the hapless citizens but you hose them down too.
>For the next 3 hours you patrol the town spraying all who are in your path till nothing remains.
>By the end of the night you're out of holy water but the town, while in shambles remains somewhat.

"This is what occurs when you give in to all your wild temptations. The road is hard sometimes. And sometimes it isn't easy to do the right thing, but the alternative is madness, chaos and death."
>There is crying from some of the villagers.

>"You'll stay, won't you?"
>"Be our light! We are lost without you, this town won't survive!"
>"We, we can afford to stay a little while, right Anon?"
"It would be bad if this place succumbed. I think it's neccesary."

"I love you too little ones. Be patient. We will make this place safe for you once again."

>You take no time to rest blessing more water and salt and ordering the villagers to take up arms, burn unholy places, and begin building the walls and repairing homes.
>There isn't a second to lose, and the work is tumultuous.
>By nightfall you think you've purged about a forth of the unholy things with fire, to include bodies, effigies, unholy relics, and spots of blood.
>There is also a salt barrier around probably a forth of the homes.
>You instruct most of the villagers to hide in the cave as the Sun peaks itself down.
>Nerves steeled, you and the other townsfolk ready yourself to purge the unholy scourge which may harm the town further while the townsfolk are away.
>The first wave of them arrive, female humanoid Malformed which have weirdly elongated necks, an underbite, razor sharp teeth and claws, and those same empty eyes.
>You blast them away with your light.
>The other villagers with fear and anger in their eyes fire their guns with holy bullets at them.
>Each man works in a sort of clumsy union making a semi-cohesive unit.
>Other monstrous humanoids with several legs and arms and long mouths and sets of teeth walking around on more than two legs.
>Some with no eyes, some with too many eyes. Some with several heads, some are just torsos sewn together with other random assortments of body parts.
>The petrified villagers fire trying their best to stay calm under such nightmarish circumstances.
>You and them blast as many as you can with light and bullets, some start sniffing around and ripping apart the houses causing destruction and mayhem.
>There are far too many to control.
>Suddenly a massive 15 foot tall abomination which seems to be an amalgamation of misshapen mouthes, eyes, and other human body parts crawls it's way along the unsalted parts of town flattening everything in it's wake.
>You're not sure if you all have enough light, bullets and holy water to purge this monster from the face of the earth.

>"Are you sure?"
"I didn't sign up to go fight monsters. I wanted to help people. And now I'll really get to do what I set out to do. Not to shed the blood, but to heal the soul."
>"A-alright."

>After an hour of gathering the unholy artifacts from the church and burning them, the church, while a little more dismal and barren that you'd like, is a somewhat feasible as a place of worship.
>The pews are filled to the brim with townsfolk.
>You're at the podium ready to give a sermon.
"Welcome, everyone. It's good to have you all here. I know this town of Alpek has suffered greatly at the hands of Malformed. False shepherds, and most of all our own human nature."
>Everyone seems to be filled with sadness and shame.
"But! Just as there is bad human nature there is also good. While you may have done horrible things, there is still redemption, there is still a path forward. God will guide us all to peace. And to do this we must follow his commandments. Love your neighbor as yourself. A quote from Mathew, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?"
>After the quote the people seem anxious but attentive.
"Money, food, clothes, these things beyond necessity are mere status symbols. Status symbols which you cannot take with you beyond the grave. And when you leave this world behind, it will not matter what you owned, but how you are remembered by the people around you. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of god. For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Do not judge each other for sin. Do not use each other for material gain. As it is said in the good book, and as I said earlier, love thy neighbor. When you are wronged do not seek vengeance, another quote, "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also; if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well."
>They seem mildly confused.
>>
>>1365548
"Do not say, "I will repay evil"; Wait for the LORD, and He will save you." Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. The way of the godly leads to life; that path does not lead to death. A foolish man is soon angry, and is hasty in expressing it; he is ever in trouble and running into mischief. It is kindness to ourselves to make light of injuries and affronts, instead of making the worst of them. It is good for all to dread and detest the sin of lying, and to be governed by honesty. Deceit and falsehood bring terrors and perplexities. But those who consult the peace and happiness of others have joy in their own minds. If men are sincerely righteous, the righteous God has engaged that no evil shall happen to them. But they that delight in mischief shall have enough of it. Make conscience of truth, not only in words, but in actions. Foolish men proclaim to all the folly and emptiness of their minds. Those who will not take pains in an honest calling, living by tricks and dishonesty, are paltry and beggarly. A good word from God, applied by faith, makes the heart glad. The righteous is abundant; though not in this world's goods, yet in the graces and comforts of the Spirit, which are the true riches. Evil men vainly flatter themselves that their ways are not wrong. The slothful man makes no good use of the advantages Providence puts in his way, and has no comfort in them. The substance of a diligent man, though not great, does good to him and his family. He sees that God gives it to him in answer to prayer. The way of religion is a straight, plain way; it is the way of righteousness. There is not only life at the end, but life in the way; all true comfort."
>The people seem content.
"Let us bow our heads in prayer."
>They bow their heads.
"Holy father, we ask for your forgiveness in all our trespasses. Care for each of us, the child who has lost a mother, the mother who has lost a child. The man whom has no family at all, and the man who has such guilt for what he has done he feels he cannot repent. Lord give us the strength, the courage, and the conviction to overcome all obstacles which lay in our way. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen."
>"Amen."
>For the next hour you allow some of the townsfolk to give you their confessions.
>You council them in the ways of righteousness. Giving them wisdom on how to live a wholesome and Godly life.

It is said that even the great saints themselves took great caution in writing and showing the book to others, even among their most trusted people."

"Why?"
>She flips through the pages.
>"Mostly to encourage membership. The lifespan of a battle priest back then wasn't a long one. And the thought of not being able to spill blood, marry or allow women to be ordained was really detrimental to the new order."
"So what was done then?"
>"New laws were passed saying priests could wield any weapon so long as it were used to combat evil. Marriage required the man or woman to be at least 20 and the wife or husband had to swear an oath of fealty and servility to God, her husband and the church. And of course the lady saints were a big factor in allowing any other women to be ordained."
"Remind me the reasoning for the ordaining of women?"
>"Through baptism in Christ, the distinctions between women and men disappear. Galatians 3:28 says "In Christ there is no Jew or Greek, slave or citizen, male or female. All are one in Christ Jesus."

And they also say she was an orphan who never underwent any kind of training to learn that type of magic. Not to mention her pretty wings.. She can sprout angel wings whenever she likes. >You scream waking up your sister.
>You worriedly begin praying.
"Lord wash away these wicked temptations. I am but a mere man who cannot resist them without your aid!"
>Allison rubs her eyes.
>"Anon?"
>You fall to your knees.
"Oh Allison, it's been awful! I've been.. T-thinking of doing these awful things to you."
>"What do you mean?"
"I wanted to murder you for that book!"
>She looks down at it.
>"Oh, well that's the problem, one of the holy seals is starting to peel off, we're gonna need some good adhesive for that."
>Your emotions get the better of you as you start to cry.
>She sets the book on the bed and wraps you in a hug.
>"There there brother.."
"I-i'm so awful. I thought of you as self righteous, and as a fool. When really I was the fool."
>"Shh.. It's only the books dark taint whispering in your ear. Do not think of it."
"I.. I love you Allison! I don't want to hurt you!"
>"Shh.. I know."
------------
>The next day she purchases adhesive adding a drop of holy water to cement it's staying power on the book.
>"There we are brother, all fixed!"
>"Veronica speaks.
>"It is strange that even Anon can succumb to temptation."
>Allison replies,
>"Well, that just goes to show you the power of the book. It's a history book, but it also contains knowledge"
Veronica seems worried.
>"And what sorts of things make up this knowledge?"
>Allison responds,
>"There are cases of a special concoction being used to lure Malformed to key areas."
"What does that mean?"
>"Just a dab upon a crib will lead a Malformed to the room where it may devour the baby."
"Good God.."
>"This was mostly used for assassinations. The salt barrier if there was one would be broken, and the Malformed would creep in and devour the unsuspecting victims."
"How horrifying."
>"Sometimes it's best if things are not known. Darkness should be left in darkness. But as for me, I've chosen to shoulder the burden of humanitys darkness. To protect my family and those close to me.."

>You, Allison and Veronica make the northern trek toward the next town.
>Veronica inquires,
>"So, what potentially demon infested town are we off to next?"
>You cough.
"Well, the idea is that hopefully we arrive BEFORE it becomes demon infested."
>Allison speaks,
>"Yeah well, considering the Malformed have already had at least 1 agent up here, it seems like this area has strategic importance to them."
"I've been meaning to ask, do Malformed have strategies?"
>Allison responds to your query as you continue to trek through the snow.
>"Well, sort of. Malformed are hunters, some specialize in ambush tactics, laying in wait in the dark to pounce upon unsuspecting prey. They can do things like open doors or even complete certain puzzles in order to devour their prey."
>Veronica responds.
>"So basically a more sophisticated predatory animal."
>"Exactly."
"Which is exactly why they must be stopped. What about the Malformed Agents?"
>"We're not entirely sure. I've read all kinds of forbidden books which document their existence specifically. Agents possess any number of deadly magics, and take delight in manipulating and mocking humanity and it's inherent nature. Agents have high intelligence and are one of humanity's biggest threats."
"What about weaknesses? Surely they must have some."
>"While lacking the weakness to sunlight they're still affected by holy artifacts, holy water and salt, just like any other Malformed. However their biggest weakness seems to be a lack of numbers in regards to agents. It is theorized that the Malformed would probably deploy more agents if there were more available. This suggests they have difficulty breeding or training these specialized and elite Malformed."
--------
>Night has come as your journey has led you up into the mountains.
>You're resting in a cave on a mountaintop as the snow flurries outside.
>There is a warm fire though and Allison and Veronica have huddled next to you for warmth.

Should you discuss strategies? Make pleasantries before bed?
>>
>>1368527
>Discuess more about the agents, asking if there is an actual plan within the church as a whole to see if one of them is an 'agent' attempt to sneak in.
>Where the hell sis keeps getting all these forbidden books
>Pray and then sleep.
>>
>>1368533
"So, what's the plan if the church finds an agent in it'd midst."
>"The idea is that there will be too many priests around it's pretty much a lions den for any agent to be acting too suspiciously. There may be some agents within the church, but if there are, they're being pretty sneaky about it."
"Somehow that doesn't fill me with confidence."
>"Well, you'll never know if they're a Malformed agent or not, so the church thinks it's best to keep stability within the kingdom and not start a panic."
"What about all these forbidden books you keep finding?"
>"Hidden passage in the library which leads to a secret underground library."
"S-secret library?"
>"There are tons of books in there, so I haven't read them all yet. But I've seen some of the Officium down there a few times."
>You sigh.
"You're so reckless sister."
>She laughs.
>"I think if I were reckless I would have been caught."
"Do.. You want to do a prayer?"
>"Sure, lead the way bro."
"Dear heavenly father, though we march headfirst into an unknown land, we ask that you bless our journey. That it will be safe, and that we will be able to save others. Give us the strength and the steadfastness in our conviction to practice and uphold what is right, in your name we pray, Amen."
>"Amen."
----------
>Through the wind and the snow you journey to the lesser known town of Slour, one of the last known northern towns.
>An uneasiness sweeps over you not knowing what awaits within this town.
>The town is covered by a large roof as you simply open the front wood door and walk inside.
>You walk into town.
>Its streets are clear of snow, and in fact, it is rather warm and comfortable here.
>In the middle of town are trees.
>And on the trees there are many fruits.
>Strangely there seem to be prepared and cooked cuts of meats growing from the trees as well.
>The smell is quite lovely.
>The people of the town don't seem weird at all.
>Veronica comments.
>"I've never seen any trees like these before."
>Allison remarks.
>"This weather too, it's really warm inside here."
>Veronica has an intense look on her face.
>"There is pixie magic at work in that regard. I can feel it."
>A man is pulling steak and bacon from a tree.
"Um, excuse me, sir?"
>"Huh? You guys seem weird, you from out of town?"
"Uh, yes well uh-"
>"What's with the trees?"
>"Oh that, the mayor planted magic trees to make all our lives so much easier!"
"Hmm, that sounds nice."
>"Heck yes! We haven't had to slaughter our own animals in ages! Plus theres delicious fruit too. Hey, I'm Bawe by the way."
>"Sup Bawe, I'm Allison."
>She shakes his hand.
>"Y-you're cute, wanna come over?"
>"It depends, can my friends come too?"
>"S-sure, uh, I'll just lead you to my place."
>Allison winks at you.
>>
>>1368690
>You're in Bawe's house.
>It's a pretty nice place, got all the furnishings and homey knick nacks you could want.
>He sits down on his chair, and invites you to sit on his couch which you do.
>He bites into his bacon pulling out a little box.
>The box is colorful and he seems happy when he looks at it.
"What's that thing?"
>"Oh this? It's my dream box. Everyone in this town has a dream box."
>Veronica inquires,
>"What's a dream box?"
>"It shows you exactly what you wanna see, all day long, every day! Man I can't get enough of this thing. It makes me feel so happy when I see all the images and colors."
>Allison inquires,
>"Alright, so what do you do for a living?"
>"What do you mean? I don't do anything for a living, no one does."
>Veronica seems baffled by this,
>"So what the heck do you do? Just stare at your dream box all day?"
>"Yeah pretty much. It's fun you should try it."
"But what about working hard for a living?"
>"PAH! Only the old people had to work hard. And those people were stupid. Why work hard for something when you can just be happy staring at your dream box all day? I can get all my food, and shelter just living like this. Heck even the clothes grow on trees."

What will you do?

>...but also say that the malformed hate dreemboxes and magic trees
>perhaps that will resolve their sloth

to be fair we don't know if that even approaches the truth. For all we know malformed might avoid this area as long as locals are neutralized with neetboxes, or leave it until more resisting men are dealt with.

"Veronica, do you know about any of the magic in this town, what about the dreamboxes?"
>"Well, I don't know about the dreamboxes. But I do know that there is fairy magic in this town, but something about it feels, perverse."
"Perverse huh? Does the dreambox just work on it's own, or do you need to feed it something?"
>"It just works. I can't explain how but.."
"And the trees, theres no trick to them? You have to admit it feels a little too convienient."
>"I don't care."
"What?"
>"So what if I can't understand it? Its not like slaving away for no purpose has any meaning to me anyway. Whats the sense in going to work and coming home? Why struggle, why suffer? Life is too short to worry."

>Tired and sluggish, like you just want to rest.
>You struggle through making it to the mayors house.

>There are many tubes and pipes all leading to a giant dreambox where a girl is sitting in front of.
>Shes thin, with an oversized comfy looking sweater draped over her and baggy looking pants.
>"Oh, didn't see you come in."
"Ms. Mayor."
>"You can call me Fouella, or don't. I don't care."
"Uh, right, Fouella, are you the one who planted the trees?"
>"Hmm? Yeah."
>Allison speaks,
>"You realize the entire town is acting like a bunch of lazy slobs right?"
>Shes staring intently at the dreambox.
>"Listen, what do humans live for? They are born into a cold world that they didn't ask to be brought into. Brought into centuries of strife, and pain, and misery. They might learn quite a bit about the world. But it wouldn't be enough to know everything. They could strive to be their best and do something that's never been done before, but that doesn't save them from death. They'll never know how their actions affect the next generation. Your lives are but a whiff of smoke."
"Yes, and that is why we must live each day to the fullest.. Fouella, you're a Malformed agent aren't you?"
>She sighs.
>"Yes."
>She revealed it so casually, as if she didn't care.
"And.. You realize you're causing these townspeople to be lazy right?"
>"Mark 7:20 to 23, "What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person." It's their own desires, their own inherent nature which they can never overcome."
"It doesn't mean they shouldn't try."
>"I think it does. Look, I'll tell you why I'm doing this. Because the Malformed need to feed. And lazy humans are easy targets. Consumed with their own sloth the Malformed will consume them. And maybe it's better that way."
>Allison picks her up grabbing her by the sweater.
>"And what makes you think it's better that way huh!?"
>"Because then they wouldn't have to suffer anymore."
>"Huh?"
>"I've been watching them. With the dreamcube, I can see all of their desires. All these wild and imaginative things they could never achieve in this lifetime. That's why I say, why live a pointless existence?"

What will you do?
>>
>>1369306
>Because its only pointless if you LET it be pointless, If you give up before even Trying then of course you're gonna fail but you always need to try. Its not the end of the journey that matters but the time between the start and end that is the most fulfilling out of anything.

>So you sit there, and let them be fooled into believing that their little box will provide them everything real life can't. >"They could never achieve their dreams realistically. You think working some lame job like being a second rate chef in a one horse town in the middle of the mountains will bring him happiness? Or that some poor peasant woman with a gimp leg has what it takes to dance with a nobleman? Or what of the man who wants to invent something that will change a world, but he can't even change his own life. In the end they all have to sacrifice their dreams. It's pointless and cruel to let them live up to mediocre lives.

>She remains silent.
"Why aren't you attacking us like the Lust Priest in the other town?"
>Veronica speaks,
>"Maybe she doesn't believe in what she's fighting for?"
>"I did. In the beginning. 5 years ago I thought humans were nothing but cattle to be raised, bred and led to slaughter. Dumb creatures with simple motives. It was only when I implemented the dream cube did I begin to understand the lengths of their ambition. As I sat and watched I realized their passion and drive was comparable to our own. We strive to eat and consume all that is around us. We don't entertain things like morality as a justification for weakness. In fact most of us think morality is a joke because so few humans follow their own teachings."
"So you saw a common ground between your kind in ours.. What is your goal then?"
>"I don't know. When I started the Malformed taught me these things. To eat and devour, to take pleasure in manipulation and the pain of others. But now I feel nothing. Neither side will ever stop fighting. It's all pointless."
"Why do the Malformed need to eat?"
>>

>"To feed the mass."
"The mass?"
>"Where do you think the Malformed go when the sun comes out?"
>You're not sure what to say.
>"They exist on a sort of shifted plane, they see all that passes by, but they cannot move or interact with it. When the Malformed consume they feed the mass. When a town is taken over, the Malformed can exist in both day and night within that town. Feeding the mass gives us power."
"But why?"
>"To us, humans are sort of our obsession. We have such a strong hate for them, yet for most of us, myself included for a while, really failed to understand them. Not to mention, to us they are an obstacle."
>Allison speaks.
>"But aren't the Malformed evil?"
>"Very much so. We pervert your practices, manipulate you. And slaughter hundreds of humans for our own selfish gain. Every bit of evil you commit gives us power and strength."
"And yet you seem conflicted for a truly evil being."
>"I just.. Don't see the point. A few humans are added to the mass. Humans fight the evil and a little mass is subtracted. The conflict could rage for centuries, or it may simply never end. In all my time to reflect I just fail to see the point in any of it."

>Fouella smiles.
>"I guess you'll just have to wait and see."

"Seriously though, a mass possession like that?"
>"Yeah well, I had to use up a lot of my power for that. I still have some in reserve. But without doing anything evil, I'm afraid my power only stands to weaken."
>"And what about feeding on humans?"
>"Some Malformed like to feed on their bodies. But we can last just feeding on sin and negative feelings."
"So, this need to eat humans is more like, a strong desire then?"
>"No, it's more like it's needed. What human is going to let you sit there and latch onto them like a parasite? Besides most Malformed have pride in that sense. They'd rather just eat the humans as it's far more filling."
>The trek to the northernmost town is 3 days.
>It'll be a slow ride at best due to all of this snow, frequent stops, and lord knows what else.
>You stop in for the night at a local cave.
--------
>You're standing over Allison.
KILL..

I MUST KILL HER AND TAKE THE BOOK

I MUST-
>You get tackled by Fouella who bites into your shoulder.
"Ah!"
>She slurps sucking messily.
>You feel the wickedness being drained from you till there's none left.
>"SUCH DELICIOUS EVIL.."
>She wipes her mouth.
>She's straddling you at this point.
>You give her a bewildered look.
>"What?"

Well?

Are the evil thoughts still there?
If not thank her for her help, wake your sister up and tell her what happened, then pray a little, and finally go back to sleep.

Random thing I noticed so far. It appears each 'agent' will have a sin associated with them in some fashion. I think the church may be lead by pride.

>The evil thoughts seem to be gone from your mind completely.
>You sit up and hug her.
>You whisper into her ear,
"Thank you."
>She looks at you quizzically.
"How do you feel now that you're fed and awake?"
>"Just fine I suppose."
>You look over at Veronica and Chelsea cuddling up with each other.
>They're so precious..
"Anyhow, were you even aware you could slurp the evil out of people?"
>"Of course, all Malformed feed upon the sinful desires of humans."
"Then.. I have a favor to ask of you.. Will you feed upon my sinful desires while we travel? My code of morality requires me to be pure of heart. And as hard as I try I feel like I can never overcome my human nature."
>"If that's what you want.. I've never had a human offer me something like that before."
"It's convenient for the both of us, think nothing of it. Now, could you stop straddling me?"
>"Oh. Alright."
>She gets up.
>You begin your prayer.
"Oh Lord, deliver me from evil. Keep my mind clear from sin. Guide us all on this journey. May you keep us safe and protect us all. In your name, Amen."
>You go over to snuggle next to Allison, Chelsea and Veronica.
>Fouella curls up at the far end of the cave all by herself.
>Another disastrous situation narrowly avoided.
>The Lord must truly be looking after you.
>You close your eyes and get sleep huddled next to the warmth of your sister and your friends.

>The cold icy winds of the plains deep in the north of Tairmora are unlike anything you've ever felt.
>These winds pierce you like a thousand small blistering knives.
>How anything could survive up here baffles you.
>These wastes however hold beauty to them.
>Thousands of years, perhaps more, the landscape lay untouched by man.
>Though dangerous, there is a serene and ancient beauty to it.
>The two pixies are huddled deep in your hood for warmth, and Allison sticks close to you.
>The outlier here is Fouella.
"Fouella, won't you join us over here?"
>She seems a little hesitant but complies.
>She walks closer to you.
"So is the cold the reason you Malformed never conquered this land?"
>"The cold, the harsh landscape. The low population. Really the bulk of the mass seems concerned with Fauland. If the humans overtake our forces there, we may need this snowy retreat to replenish our forces."
"Are.. You saying theres a chance of defeat for the Malformed?"
>She grimaces.
>"There was always that chance. But what does it matter? The forces just smash against each other again and again."
"So, you think that there's no hope for either side."
>"Exactly. Neither will progress. Caught in a limbo. The humans won't advance to the stars, and neither will the Malformed. It's just, battle, subversion, takeover, sin, righteousness. We are slaves to our ambition, because it is our only sense of purpose."
"I don't think a compromise is likely."
>Allison laughs.
>"That's the understatement of the century. The church has been fighting the Malformed since they first were discovered. Countless deaths and suffering are attributed to the Malformed. There is a greater likelihood of separating every grain of salt from the ocean than for the church to make peace with the Malformed."
>"The Malformed are too wicked and selfish to want anything but bloodshed. And their stubbornness has made us an enemy to the entire human race. Though it was our efforts to wipe out the humans first that started everything."
>"Exactly, you brought this on yourselves."
>"I grew up unquestioning them. To spread mayhem and kill humans was all we knew. It united us. Made us feel like we were fighting for something. We were finally going to show those humans how much better we were."
>"Yeah hindsight can be a real bitch huh?"
>"Even now. I don't know if where I'm going is anywhere different. I don't know what to believe. I am lost. And I am alone. Using the dream cube and seeing the humans dreams gave me some sense of happiness that wasn't from mayhem. But it's hard to describe why I felt that way."

How do you proceed?
>>
>>1370581
As long as you are with us, you are not alone.

How is Veronica feeling now that her sister is safe?
>>
>>1370581
>Do you have any dreams of your own?
>You are clearly capable of independent thought, are other Malformed able of this, or just agents?

Do you think one can overcome their nature? No, scratch that. Through God, anything is possible.

Hmm...her feeding on the evil is convenient for us, but it runs the risk of invalidating and weakening our own faith and resolve. It would be better if we could stand up to the temptations of the book with the bulwark of faith and free her of her dependency on evil.
>>
>>1370581
Because you saw us not as we want to be. We want to steal of a better future, we have dreams and hopes and desire and while we have the freedom for the most part it seems you were never given the chance. Hopefully we can change that while we go. Who knows, maybe this will lead to a greater understanding or common ground.

>You sigh.
"Veronica, how do you feel now that you have your sister back?"
>"Tremendously relieved. But I feel like I can't go back now. Not to my home, it isn't safe there.. I feel like even though we're headed toward places where the Malformed now roam, we're safe as long as we're with you."
"You place too much faith in me.. I'm just a man."
>"A holy man, don't worry, we'll protect you too. We'll lend you all of our strength, right Chelsea?"
>"Yes. Veronica told me about how you saved her too. I can't ever thank you enough!"
>You feel her hug the back of your neck warmly.
>You continue your trek through the cold.
--------------
"You ever have any dreams of your own Fouella?"
>"Malformed don't have dreams like humans do. We may rest to recharge ourselves, but that is where the similarities end."
"You are clearly capable of independent thought, are other Malformed able of this, or just agents?"
>"There are different classes within the masses. There are at the lowest level the primus. These are the obedient grunts. They do whatever is requested by higher classes with few exceptions. Their base drive is their need to feed. And depending on their drive they can reach monstrous physical proportions."
>Allison strokes her chin.
>"So what are the other ones?"
>"The next level up are the awakened. When the primus feeds enough the few numbers of our awakened are born. The awakened cannot be born without the nourishment from the primus. They also cannot step into the sun at this stage. They draw from the sin around them and develop higher cognition as they grow older. And finally the agents are those few awakened who have mastered sin and wield it like a weapon. They have achieved the highest cognition and can walk among the humans in sunlight. There aren't very many agents as most of the awakened have a brutal unruly nature which is hard to tame. They lack a focus and a direction, but are able to cause destruction none the less. The awakened are usually forbidden to enter combat as the Agents believe it's a waste to throw away the limited amount of awakened which could potentially become peers of their caliber."
>>
>>1371489
>Allison, Veronica, and Chelsea are quiet for a while as you continue your march.
"Allison, did you ever have intense urges before you got your mark?
>"I did. But the mark has helped with that. It helps against all temptations really. Higher members of the church to include Clarity and the Bellum papum Joshua have this mark."
"I see."
-------
>A day passes and you spent the night in a cave.
>It is the next day and your march continues.
"If your kin wins they will starve and start to eat each other, if humans win, will we turn into each other without an enemy to fight?"
>"This is not correct."
"What?"
>"When the Malformed overtake a town it becomes our unlimited food source from there on out. Which is why the human souls killed in or around that town, and around that time as well are trapped within it."
"Thats.."
>"When you walk through the town you'll hear pained screams like someone being viciously assaulted. And then more, and all over, all their screams repeated in an infinite loop coming as if from nowhere."
>You can't bring yourself to speak.
>"Because deep underground the human souls take physical form, and a nearly invincible class of Malformed within the town called the torturers of the damned torture them in unspeakable ways."
>You gasp.
>"This is the nature of the Malformed. We're vicious and evil beyond reprieve. Would a God take mercy on a race which can only thrive through the suffering of others?"
"I.."
>"Well?"
"Humans tend to do evil, Malformed can live just by eating evil, is it really impossible that we can life in peace together or is just because our superiors prefer war?"
>You point to your sister.
"Can you eat her evil?"
>"Hey!"
>Fouella looks at her.
>"There isn't much there to eat. Imagine using your teeth to scrape a morsel off a chicken bone. I'm not that desperate. And on the note of my superiors. They've been alive for hundreds of years. When you're born and bred on a diet of human suffering for that long, I sincerely doubt they're likely to change."

God only asks for those to repent; to do so is a choice that any thinking being can make.
>>
>>1371491
When in doubt, pray.

What is origin of the malformed anyway? If they are created, it seems unlikely God would intend them to subsist on evil, especially if they are granted what seems like conscience which implies they have choice to do otherwise.

What did they eat before they met people for first time?

Assuming she's not just tricking us, but then why would she be telling us all this stuff.

Regardless, this soul torture business will have to stop, one way or another.
>>
>>1371587
if the theory holds true, we need to encounter another Malformed Agent, But I think each one is 'tied' to a sin in terms of its actions. The first one we clearly lust in some fashion, to be wanton desires and give in. This one made everybody lazy and provided for thus being Sloth. If this is true, the odds of her lying to us are very fucking small, she'd have no reason too.
>>
>>1371591
I don't think she's lying. But the question is the age-old /tg/ topic of - can demon, a being of pure evil - be redeemed? What would they turn into, and how would they be able to survive if they need evil for that?

Do intelligent malformed all have enough of a sapience (soul?) to have a conscience, or perhaps did she grow or absorb one when interfacing with the villagers over their neetboxes?

I'm curious about the origin of the Malformed
