Welcome anons, to the Great Domain. I am the Librarian Virgil. Today, I'll be guiding you through the stories of honor, ambition, romance, & tragedy of the 3rd Millennium. Now then, before we begin, a simple question. The object of power is;>For Ambition>For Justice>To Protect
>>1371157>>For AmbitionWe are playing moralfag mcs far too often.
Well, then... Let us begin. You are Admiral Arturus Baruch, commander of the United Sol Empire 7th Imperial Fleet. It is the year 3051 A.D., of what is to be known as the Final Battle of Solomon. You stand aboard the USIS Morning Star. Explosions rocked the ship as your fleet dies around you. Your XO, Captain Angela Hailey, exclaims,"Admiral, we've just lost USIS Baal and Belphegor!""Hull Integrity falling to 30%!""What are your orders, sir?"You watch upon your target, the Hive. The monstrosity that has invaded the Empire. 6 years of endless battles has almost exhausted the fleet. >"Captain, initiate Ragnarok">"Send the cruiser screen ahead. This is our final shot.">Write-in

>>1371171>"Evacuate all except essential personnel. Set engines to overdrive. Ramming Speed."
"Captain, initiate Ragnarok. All non-essential personnel, abandon ship."Eyes around the bridge turn wide open. The admiral who have never abandon the cause has given orders to evacuate. As the rest of the crew evacuates, most of your bridge members stayed at their post. You frown."I said all personnel, Captain. Did you all not hear me?"Your XO replies, "Negative sir. You said all non-personnel. You'll still need us, sir.""No offense, sir. We don't expect to survive without you, sir," chimes your comm officer. What do you do?>Allow them to stay>Force them to evac>Write-in

"You won't survive if you stay. Leave now. That's an order."They should've known better. If this wasn't your last command, you would've given them another training session from hell. You hail the ship AI. "Summer.""Yes, Admiral?""Codeword, 'Red-Rising' "Surprise crossed your crew's faces as their seats restrained them. Your XO struggles from hers, tears streaming down her face. "NO! Admiral!""I'm sorry, Hailey. Til' the next life."She descends alongside your crew into their evac pods. You watch as your remaining cruisers try to shield and pick up the pods. As you settle back into the Captain's seat, Summer watches you from her holo-projector."Set warpdrive to overload and engines at full-speed. Divert all reserves to weapons and forward shields.""Aye, sir," replies Summer."Any regrets, Summer?""None whatsoever, Admiral."[CONTINUED]
>>1371234[INTERLUDE]As hundreds of battleships wreck havoc, weapons fire crossing the cold void and ending countless lives, the USIS Morning Star picks up speed towards the Hive. Lightning courses through the hole-riddled hull. The Hive sensed an impeding dread from that hated ship. Thousand of battleships and cruisers ended their assault upon the ships of the 7th Fleet, turned their sights and firepower upon the Morning Star. But it was too late. The Morning Star skipped once, dodging all of the Hive Fleet's accumulated fire. It fired its own, a blue, fiery bar of vengeance cutting through the Hive's shield and opening a path into the belly of the station.[INTERLUDE ENDS]
The bridge is on fire. Most of the consoles exploded from the overlord and the skip. You are not any better condition yourself, your own dantian* drained from skipping the entire ship. In any other time, you would've been hailed as the greatest genius in history. Even then, the effort nearly killed you. The ship sped down the hole you've made, broadsides blasting away at the guts of the station. The entire station shuddered, like a beast in pain. A robotic voice reverberates in your mind."FOOLISH ADMIRAL! DO YOU THINK THAT KILLING THIS STATION WILL END THIS? WE ARE BUT OF A VANGUARD OF THE TRUE LEGIONS THAT WILL ERADICATE YOU INSIGNIFICANT SPECKS" What say?>Insult back(Write-in highly encouraged)>Press the shiny red button labelled 'Ragnarok'>Write-in
"But not today."

Blood drips from your nose as the feedback grows. Your body broken from the damage to the ship. But you don't feel the pain. A grin slowly spreads itself across your face."We may be insignificant specks to you. But today's the day we bite against the hands of you so-called gods."The engines begin to fail as the stations self-defense drones began tearing your ship apart. As the ship falls apart around you, a console lights up. Summer informs you,"Admiral, Ragnarok's full charged, sir.""Good job, Summer," you grunt as you drag your broken body across to it. You see a ignition button. Shiny red. A small prank from your XO. You smiled.WHAT ARE YOU DOING? STOOOOOOP!"To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee."You slammed the red button with all your might.Inside the remaining torpedo bay of the ship, a bomb cobbled together by the brightest minds of the Empire detonates. A blackhole appears briefly within the station, taking away a large chunk of its core. The station erupted soon after, the Hive Fleet dissolved into infighting and aimlessly flying around as thousands of ships lost connection. But you do not see any of this. The last thing you remember seeing is a pair of hands reaching out for you.[TO BE CONTINUED]

>>1371323Thanks for running! You did great for your first run.
>>1371323Dear OP, it's been more than 3 years since I've stopped posting and switched to lurk mode. In fact, I've been spending most of my time on sup/tg/. Your quest intrigued me enough to respond, so you must be doing something good! I think that the hook and the intro are OK, but somehow I have the feeling that not much happened here. A few posts, a bit of explanations, but the moment things start to sort of get interesting, quest ends. So, while I like it, I could expect someone else to just scroll by and not pay much attention. In my humble opinion, one or two more posts would have provided a bit more room for a better cliffhanger.
>>1371323Any idea on when its going to continue?Your quest seems interesting.
>>1383784Will be Sat CST. Updates are on twitter.
