Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkworld creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.

They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.

For many years, Dark Gate Academy has held back the forces of the Darkworld, kept this unspeakable evil contained within their walls. But a dark cloud approaches, and times are about to change. A new chapter in the tale of Dark Gate Academy is about to begin.

“The fight's really raging outside.”

Yami's words pierce into Tsuki as he continues to focus on his preparations. The Eclipse will be complete soon, and soon he and Taiyo shall become one again... returned to his true form.

“Hey, you listening to me?”

“Shut up,” Tsuki spits. “I don't care what those fools are doing outside... they don't stand a chance regardless.”

“Huh...” Yami mutters, as he stares out the window into the city below. Closed inside Tsuki's dome, the sky above appears purple and wavy. No stars to be seen... all but a partial Eclipse hangs above. “I don't know, those people are pretty strong... I remember facing them before. They fight like Archdemons, but...”

“Remain focused,” Tsuki replies, adjusting the solidified stone of his other half and greatest rival. “I didn't release you from your prison to stand and ask pathetic questions.”

Yami wags a finger in front of Tsuki's face. “Hey, don't forget that you and I have a deal, buddy! I help you with this junk... and you make sure that she's safe.”

“Who?”

“Etsuko,” Yami replies. “I'll happily mow anyone else down for you... but she needs to live.”

Tsuki shakes his head. “Yes, yes, whatever... I honestly have no earthly idea why you let your host speak on your behalf, Darkness. So emotional, so human...”

“Humans aren't as bloodthirsty as me,” Yami replies. “At least, that's what I've been told. Deep down, I've always been a demon.”

“With a heart of gold, I'm sure!” Tsuki mockingly replies. “Despite all your murder and rampage, you select one useless woman to show kindness to. I hope you don't think that makes you a good person? That it redeems you? Humans can be so deluded... my host was empty by the time I took over. A victim of war, of poverty... suffered through so much hardship, they had no will left. I came in, and I was given full control.”

“What a shitty way to go,” Yami remarks.

Tsuki chuckles. “Yes, and as cruel as that may make me seem, Taiyo... the glorious beacon of morality himself, did the very same. What does that tell you?”

“I don't care,” Yami shrugs. “I don't give a crap about this rock or your grudge with it.”

Tsuki smirks. “Fair... I can only expect you to-GAH!”

Yami tilts his head as Tsuki clutches his in pain. “Something wrong, boss?”

“No... no,” Tsuki replies. “Nothing important... my daughter was simply killed.”

“Damn, sorry...”
“No matter,” Tsuki shrugs it off. “I can create another. However, it does mean I'm running low on forces. Darkness?”

“Yeah, boss?”

“I think it's time you went out there... and killed them all.”

“Sure thing.”

>Meanwhile

“So... here we are.”

“Are you nervous?” Saki asks, standing readily by your side.

You nod, standing before the massive dome of strange, deep purple energy surrounding it. Inside lies Tsuki, Yami and the Demon Hunters battling them. Within lies a major threat to the entire world... one that you have to stop. “Gotta admit it, Sak... I am a little. I mean... this guy is far stronger than anyone we've ever faced. Even the master delinquent fearless leader of this group can get a little intimidated.”

“Hey! I'm the leader!” Saki replies with a smile.

Hey, at least you can fight!” Stranger explains. “The Power Stone is fully charged, you'll be able to draw on my power... when the time is right, at least.

Hmm...” Nina mumbles.

“Worried about something?”

Nina pauses. “I suppose I am, Ryoji. You've never used that stone while I've been here. Will... it affect me in any way?

It might,” Stranger replies. “It's my power that's keeping you hear, and if that gets a boost... something will happen, but I don't know what.

Good or bad?

I just said, I don't know.

That's reassuring...

Saki stares at the dome as she readies her lance. “As soon as we step through here... the battle begins, Ryoji. Um... if we don't make it out of this-”

“Stop that,” you mutter. “Come on, Sak. Don't do the if we don't make it out of this routine... we're gonna be fine. We're gonna beat this guy like we've beaten all the other guys, we're gonna go home, and we're gonna have a nice dinner with my parents.”

“Well, aren't you just jinxing it by saying that?” Saki smirks.

You chuckle. “Let's not go down that rabbit hole... I love you, Sak. I know we can do this.”

Saki nods. “The others will be here soon. When they arrive, we're going in. We need all the numbers we can get.”

Just as she says that, a figure appears before you, the first of the reinforcements that Hoshi is shipping over to the location of your final fight. A young boy wielding a samurai sword, already looking like he just got out of a tough fight.

“Hey...” Kazuma mutters, staring at the dome. “So... Tsuki's in there, huh?”

>Yep. You ready to go, kouhai?

"Sure am," Kaz replies. "I have to take down Tsuki... I'm sorry, this is my mess to clean up."

"How?"

Kazuma shakes his head. "Tsuki, Taiyo... they were my classmates. I should have realised something was wrong with them sooner, I... need to help you guys."

Saki lets out a sigh. "I get that you're eager to fight, but don't go rushing ahead. I don't want you to hurt yourself. We have Class 3 and the Demon Hunters working here... we don't need you trying to do anything by yourself."

"I won't," Kazuma promises. "Trust me, after my last fight I know the importance of working as a team."

"How did that go, by the way?" you smirk. "Bug victory for Class 1? Was there celebrations? Fireworks? Did you dip your Mayu friend over and plant one on her lips?"

"No, none of that," Kazuma replies. "It wasn't the time for-"

"Lame," he tease. "You really should have."

"H-hey, take this seriously!" Kaz yells, annoyed. "We're fighting for our lives, and you're still trying to bully me? What the hell!"

You chuckle. "What better time than when you'll be most annoyed?"

As you mock Kazuma as usual, the others begin to pool in one by one. All of Class 2 and 3 are in attendance, along with a few other additions from Class 1.

"Ninsei?" Kaz asks, pointing at the purple haired boy. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm still in condition to fight," he explains. "And when I grew up... I was raised to fight."

You smirk and cross your arms. "Maybe you want to fight beside your brother, am I right?"

Ninsei scoffs, while Sora simply gives you a knowing nod.

"Ryoji..." the voice of Raiden mutters, causing you to swing around.

"Well if it isn't dark and brooding himself," you remark. "You ready for this, Raiden?"

Raiden nods. "Yes... no more mistakes. I... I'm the one that caused this mess, all because I was too stupid to realise that I needed help from others..."

"Water under the bridge," you reply. "As long as you don't do anything dumb again, we can all clean this up... together."

"Right..." Raiden nods. "But I have to ask that once we defeat Yami... you leave his execution to me. It's my fault he was freed, he's my responsibility. I understand if you refuse, but... I feel I need this retribution."

>There's no execution. He dies at the hand of whoever can kill him.

Raiden nods. "I understand. Then I will do my best to be that person."

"Hey Ryoji!" Akemi yells, as she drags behind her a mass of tangled metal and turrets. "I'm really excited! I'm gonna put down all the traps!"

"Good to know you're prepared," you smile, as Akemi continues to tinker away with her weapons. "Just try not to have one explode in your face."

"Don't be silly!" Akemi laughs. "That's only happened about four times so far!"

"Right..." you mutter, as you let Akemi continue with her tinkering and turn your attention elsewhere. "Maro, are you ready to lead?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," Maro replies in his matter of fact tone. "Times like this, I just have to think about what my senpai told me... Hm, it'll be interesting to see how this goes. We didn't fare too well against Settan all the way back then."

"Why are you thinking back to that?" you ask. "That was way back in June."

Maro nods. "It felt like a milestone when we fought him as a team. This feels like another... especially since we won't be the only ones fighting this time."

"Yeah, we have those demon hunters-"

"That's not who I meant," Maro replies, nudging his head over, as you see the presence of three of your school teachers. Akihito, Tekina and Takeshi... though the latter is currently a janitor.

"Whoa teach, what are you doing here?" you ask.

Akihito smiles. "What does it look like, Ryoji? We can't leave this fight to the children... it's far too big for that. No, we have to join the fray... maybe show you kids how it's done."

"Are you sure you won't break a hip?" you joke.

"Ha," Akihito laughs sarcastically. "Watch it, Shida. I'm still in my twenties... and I still have the authority to give you detention!"

>It'll be good having you by our side. I've always wondered what you could do.

>It'll be good having you by our side. I've always wondered what you could do.

"Heh, I'm sure you'll be very impressed by the stuffy counsellor," he smiles. "Be careful, Ryoji. And take care of the others. I don't want to lose any of my students."

Even when he isn't your teacher anymore, you're still his student... you have to admit, that kinda warms your heart. You and Akihito are so different, so opposed... and yet somehow you managed to accidentally forge a friendship with this guy. This happens way too often with you.

Akihito gives you a small smile. "Well, I'm ready to go. I think we should save the world in the next two hours, then I can get back home for a nice relaxing bath by sunrise. That sound good for everyone?"

"Yep!" Takeshi yells. "Me and Tekina would love to have a bath... uhh, n-not togheter, obviously! T-teacher's can't date, and-"

"School staff aren't here," Akihito reminds him. "It's okay, friend."

"Are we ready?" Saki asks, a slight hesitation on her voice. "Then let's go!"

You step through the dome and into the missing city... and the city is in ruins. Crumbled buildings, fires everywhere, and the fight rages on, as Moonbeasts pace the rooftops and the streets, and flashes of light going off in the distance to denote the location of Miyoko and her crew. Even as soon as you step inside, one of the beasts flies at you, but a quick slash of the blade from Rei clears that up.

"They aren't as strong as I remember them," Saki remarks.

"Tsuki isn't at full power yet," Sayeka reminds the group. "Not until that Eclipse is complete... until then, he's favouring quantity over quality in creating these monsters."

"Well, fear not my lovely Sayeka!" Chihiro smiles. "No matter how many there are, I shall keep you safe!"

"Thanks you..." Sayeka mutters, as her hedgehog squeaks in confirmation.

"O-oh dear!" Hoshi mumbles. "Umm... w-w-we can't go back..."

"The exit is sealed," Satomi confirms. "It's just like the other domes. You could enter as you place, but you cannot leave until the guardian has been defeated."

"And that guardian is probably Tsuki himself," Akio mutters.

"Well, then we must vanquish this foul villain from the moon!" Isamu exclaims. "This moonman stands no chance against us great heroes-"

"He's not from the moon, you idiot!" A frustrated Ninsei exclaims. "He is The Moon! A demon, remember?"

"Well, I can see you're not a fan of poetic language!" Isamu replies, tossing his flashy cape aside.

"The three of us will press on ahead," Akihito explains. "For now, we can fight Yami, while the rest of you focus on protecting civilians. Don't forget, there are still people living in this city, and it's up to us to save them."

"Go with them, Alice."

Alice tilts her head at Maro's request.

"Hmm?"

Maro looks back to her. "You're the biggest weapon we have against Yami and Tsuki. I know it's dangerous, but... you should be on the frontlines as well."

Alice smiles and gives a salute with a determined look. "Okay! Can I bring my student, too?"

"Go ahead," Maro replies.

As Alice pumps her fist, Saki and Chihiro look on, concerned. "Be careful, my dear aunt," Chihiro mumbles.

"Be safe, Alice..." Saki adds.

"No problem!" Alice replies. "If that's what you told me to do, then that's what I'm going to do!"

Alice joins the teachers as they press on ahead. As they do, Maro turns to you. "Okay, we need to focus on the civilians. We'll break into groups and search separate areas. Anywhere you want to take?"

>I'll check out that huge office building over there... probably a lot of people gathered inside.

"You'll take the hospitals, huh?" Maro remarks. "Good thinking. The rest of us will handle the other areas. You lead a group there."

"Good luck," Saki smiles as she kisses you on the cheek. "Time to do this."

"I'll come along," Ken mentions, patting you on the back. "If there are people to weak to defend themselves, then it's our duty to help them."

"You don't have to sound like such a dork," Kosuke remarks. "But hell, I'll take the hospitals as well. Better to stick by my best friends anyway while my wife is busy punching things."

"Any other takers?" you ask.

"I know my way around a hospital!" Satomi announces, "I can help you reach the wards faster."

Hiro nods. "And if anyone needs assistance in being healed, I'm there."

"I shall join as well," Sora nods with a smile. Nice, you've built a sizeable team for this expedition at least.

You press on quickly with the group, but it isn't long before Sora turns around to address a certain purple-haired kid following you. "My, you didn't announce that you would be joining us, brother," he smiles.

"Shut up and just take the help," Ninsei growls. This kid may have a terrible attitude, but it's good to know he's eager to help people in need.

You arrive at the hospital, and it's already crawling with moonbeasts.

"Damn, do you think we can cut through all of them?" Kosuke asks.

"Charging through my be a bad idea," Ken replies. "But then again, we don't have the time to waste taking it slow... people in there are in danger, and they'll be in even more danger when the eclipse is complete. Any ideas, Satomi?"

To your surprise, the little nerd's eyes light up as she stares at the hospital with her ever-creepy grin. "I think I do... I know the design of this hospital, it's identical to one in Kingudoro that I studied the layout of... everything's the same, including the ventilation systems. I know an opening in the side of this building, and if we can sneak through there, we can make it to the people faster and without having to fight through any beasts."

"Then let's do that-" you begin, before being interrupted by Satomi once more.

"Of course, if we fail in sneaking through we'll take much longer and be in a more compromising position when the moonbeasts attack. Considering all the factors, I have to say it's a risky option. Simply fighting through may actually be the safer bet."

"It's up to you then, leader," Kosuke turns to you.

Ninsei shakes his head. "I have no idea why this guy is supposed to be your leader."

"Because Ken doesn't want the position and I'm the laziest class president around," Kosuke explains. "Also... he's a good leader. Second only to the Sakster. So... what's our angle?"

"We'll sneak in and out before those Moon Beasts can even smell us," you explain.

You and your group pick the right moment to slink by the side of the building, climbing a stairwell to the side and coming across a ventilation shaft. Ken rips it off it's hinges, as Satomi motions inside. "Well, here we are! This should take us directly to wherever we need to go."

"I'll lead the way then," you reply. "Just make sure to give directions."

You climb into the ventilation shaft and... damn, it's tight. You barely have any room to move your limbs, let alone climbs through the damn thing. For whatever reason, it takes you back to your camping trip with the extremely cramped tent.

"Not a lot of room, huh?" Ken whispers in a groan.

"Hey, where are you looking?" Satomi gasps from behind you as you crawl through.

"Directly in front of me, where else can I look in this tin can?" Ninsei's voice replies with annoyance. "Now, hurry up!"

You shake your head as you press on through the vents. It's tight, it's hot and it's uncomfortable, but you're making good progress and not being torn apart by moon beasts, which is always a plus.

"Even I'm feeling the heat, Ryoji..."

"Eh, it isn't that bad. Don't be a baby, Nina."

"Ryoji," Satomi whispers. "One of the wards is directly below us. Let's go!"

You nod, and find a shaft beneath you. You punch it open and spill from the ceiling of one of the rooms to the floor below... and are greeted by the screams and gasps of several people.

"Who are you people?" one man panics. "W-what do you want with us? You're one of them, aren't you?"

"No, they are not."

A familiar voice speaks out, as you turn your head. Sitting in a stool by one of the beds in the ward is that strange doctor girl from Miyoko's crew... Nari, you think it was. "These people are like me... well, not exactly. But they are."

"What the hell are you doing here?" you ask. "I figured you'd be fighting Yami with your group."

"I am treating these people," Nari explains. "What did you expect me to do as a doctor at a time like this."

"Do you need any assistance?" Satomi asks. "I have a little medical training myself."

"A little?" Kosuke remarks. "Why are you being modest now?"

"I don't know!" Satomi admits, reverting to her usual enthusiasm. "Medicine is a wonderful thing, isn't it?"

"I can help too!" Hiro smiles.

"Excuse me, mister?" a little kid tugs on Ken's pant leg. "Are you a superhero?"

"Something like that," Ken smiles warmly. "You can call me the Justice Rider."

"Oh, that's cool!" the kid replies. "You're like The Red Mask!"

Sora stares at the little kid before letting out a small laugh. "What's so funny?" asks Ninsei.

"He's a lot like you at that age, is he not?" Sora remarks.

"... Shut up."

>Can you two just try to get along right now? Now's not the time for sibling rivalries.

Sora nods. "Yes, of course. My apologies, Ryoji."

"Let's just get a move on," Ninsei mutters. "How are we going to get these people out of here? The place is crawling with Moon beasts."

"There's a simple answer to that," Nari explains. "I can handle the moon beasts themselves. If you and your friends can lead the people to a safe area, I can keep any and all of these monsters away from them."

"Sounds like a good idea," Hiro smiles, as he patches up a woman's leg.

Nari stares at Hiro intently. "A healing ability... interesting. Would you mind if I took a sample of your blood?"

"What?!"

"Excellent idea!" Satomi exclaims. "You might be able to learn something we couldn't!"

"Umm... maybe later," Hiro replies.

Nari nods, fixing the sleeves of her oversized labcoat. "Very well. We have no time to waste. I will fight the moonbeasts now, and you will lead the people out."

"What's your name, young man?" Sora asks the young boy from earlier.

"N-Ninsei..." the little boy replies. "B-but I lost my mom and dad..."

"Hmm, seems I sensed something after all," Sora replies, looking to his brother. "Come, little Ninsei. We shall find your parents, but for now we need to take you somewhere safe."

The kid seems to have a sprained ankle, so Sora allows him to hop on his back to be carried.

"Okay, everyone else follow us!" Kosuke announces. "We're good people, and about half of us are cool dudes. We can take you all to safety, but we need to move quick."

"You ready to hold them off?" you ask Nari, who nods in return.

"I hope she can do it by herself..."

You take a deep breath, and your group begins to lead the civilians outside. Nari charges out first, setting light to something that glows brightly, turning all of the Moon Beasts attention to her. They give chase as she tries to fight them on her own, and as the rest of your group presses on.

"Mister, I'm scared..." the young kid mutters.

"Do not fear young Ninsei," Sora reassures him. "I am... no..."

Sora only has time to utter that before being swatted aside by a straggling moon beast that didn't join the others in attacking Nari. Sora positions himself to take the brunt of the hit, leaving the little kid only scraping his knees as he is flung from Sora's back.

"Brother!" Ninsei yells, as he readies his knife and charges the creature... but a few more are closing in on his position. Dammit... you can't stop to fight, you have to lead the civilians to safety... but they're in trouble...

"Dammit..." you mutter, before turning to the others. "I'm gonna distract them. When you see her, tell Saki that I'll be a little late."

You can heal, the demons can't kill you... better to draw their attention more towards you and away from the two brothers and the kid.

You ready your gauntlet and fire forward, catching the beast attention as you run in the opposite direction of the group. "Over here, you big dumb monsters!"

You continue to fire, keeping their attention on you and away from the civilians as you run... but you don't get far before being swiped down by one of the beasts. It drives one of it's tendrils into your leg, pining you down on the ground. Others begin to circle you... so much for keeping them distracted all that long... it'll be a short time before they turn their attention back to the others.

"Ryoji..." Sora mutters nearby, before turning to his brother. He passes the kid off to him and grabs his rod. "Take him and go, brother."

"You idiot, that many will kill you!" Ninsei protests. "We have to go!"

Sora shakes his head. "No, I must help my friend."

"Your friend is screwed. You-"

"It is better to die for my friends than live for nothing," Sora replies. "So you remember who said that?"

"Dad..." Ninsei mutters. "You still remember that, huh?"

"Why are you so upset?" Sora smiles warmly. "I thought you always wanted me to rise up and fight. Now go."

"Dammit..." Ninsei mutters, as Sora charges into the fray, taking down several of the Moon Beasts, swatting them away from you. He doesn't fight often, so you are surprised by the incredible skill he possesses with such a simple weapon, as well as his ability to avoid their attacks... but you know he can't handle them by himself, and you're no use either.

Ninsei leads the kid back to the group as quickly as he can, before turning his head back to your struggle. "Stick with them, okay pal?" he asks the kid. "Me and the others will be right behind you."

With that, Ninsei draws his knife once more, and rushes to his brother's aid. He stabs a Moon Beast in the back, but it quickly tosses him to the side before charging. Ninsei grimaces and braces himself... but his brother is quick to leap in the way.

Sora leaps in front of the attack meant for Ninsei and takes it with full force, being clawed across the face and sent flying through the air before collapsing.

"Sora!" Ninsei cries out in fear before slicing one of the tendrils of the Moon Beast. "Sora, are you okay?"

Sora stirs and begins to pick himself up off the ground, blood dripping from his face. "I am alright, brother... I still live. Though it seems a lost the use of my left eye."

"Y-you lost and eye?!" Ninsei screams. "Dammit Sora, you freak! How can you be so calm about that?!"

"Because I know my sacrifice meant that my brother could live."

"D-dammit..." Ninsei mutters under his breath, grimacing. "Well, neither of us will be living much longer at this rate. We can't fight them... we're not strong enough to handle this ourselves, and the others are too far away by this point to help."

"I see, then there is only one thing to it..." Sora explains. "One of us will have to lure the beasts... and it will likely result in death."

"Sora!" Ninsei yells. "Don't give me that crap!"

"I'll do it," you reply. "With my healing, I can-"

"You are needed elsewhere Ryoji," Sora explains. "And much sooner... you need to be present in the coming battle with The Darkness and The Moon, not running from or being torn apart by beasts. Regardless of your abilities, you're too important to be used as a distraction at this time."

"The monk's got a point."

"I hate to say it, but... he's speaking the truth. We need to be present to fight Yami, and everyone else will be in grave danger if we're too busy running to help them out... b-but that doesn't mean one of you should sacrifice yourselves! There has to be a better way!"

You dodge a blow from another Moon Beast as Sora continues to speak.

"As such... I shall be the distraction. I'm already hurt, and of no use in battle... and after all, I'd gladly sacrifice myself for the two of you-"

"Shut up!" Ninsei yells, distraught. "You can't do that! You can't just let yourself be killed for my sake! Stop being such a self-sacrificing idiot! I... I'll do it. I'll be the distraction."

"Ninsei..." Sora shakes his head. "I can't allow you to-"

"We run?" Sora mutters. "Ryoji, I fear that may not-"

Sora is interrupted by a headbutt to the face from his brother. "Shut up and listen! He has a point!"

"We can run," you explain. "And we can escape them if we're lucky. Let's take that chance first, why don't we?"

Sora nods. "Very well. Let's go."

With that, the three of you sprint away, with the Moon Beasts in hot pursuit. You run down an alleyway before another falls from above in front of you. Your reactions are quick, as you duck into an alleyway and keep running just as it swings. The three of you press on until Sora's leg begins to give out.

"I'm afraid in my condition I may be slowing you down..."

"Like hell you are!" Ninsei yells, throwing Sora's arm over him and carrying him the rest of the way. As you look behind you, you see no more trace of Moon Beasts.

"Okay, we made it..." you gasps for air. "Now... let's get back to the entrance and regroup with the others."

"Sora!" Nariko gasps as you reunite with the rest of the group. She rushes to his aid as Ninsei carries him. "What happened? Will he be okay?"

"He'll live," Ninsei mutters, placing his brother down. He takes a long look at him before muttering, "You were willing to die for me, Sora."

"The same can be said for you," Sora weakly groans.

"Yeah..." Ninsei mutters, fighting back tears. "W-well... s-shut up."

"Ahoy, we be dealin' with a problem!" Nanami explains to you, likely pressing more on her pirate voice out of nervousness. "A stowaway, if you will!"

"I'm no stowaway!" the young woman among the civilians explains. "My name is Etsuko!"

"Etsuko?" you mutter. "Hm... sounds familiar... and you look familiar too..."

"While I was being rescued, I heard mention of a man named Yami," she explains. "And based on the description I heard... I know him! Look, I have to come with you!"

"And how do you know Yami?" you ask.

Etsuko sighs. "I'm his... I was his... look, I need to see him. If he's the person that's causing all this, I need to speak to him! I... I can calm him down, or something!"

"It's dangerous," Saki explains. "I can't allow this!"

"I don't need you to let me do anything!" Etsuko replies. "Look, you obviously know what's going on here, but you're just kids, and... I need to see him. I think I can help him come to his senses... I don't care what you say, I'm going. It's all a matter of if you're gonna tell me the truth about Yami or not."

"The truth?"

"Yes," Etsuko mutters. "We all know something strange is going on here, and if Yami is involved... just tell me."

"I know it's a lot to take in," Saki replies.

Etsuko lets out a deep breath through puckered lips. "Yeah... and I thought Yami had problems before. L-look... I know it's dangerous, but I think I might be able to help him. If I can just get close..."

"We can't let a civilian wander into danger-"

"No, let her," Maro interrupts. "Look at her. She's going to follow us regardless. We should at least make an effort to keep her safe and try to communicate with Yami. We'll only bring her into a dangerous part of the battle as a last resort, though."

"I guess..." Saki mutters. "Okay, you can come... but stick close at all times. Don't wander off, and don't get too close to the action, okay?"

"Okay," Etsuko replies. "I... I can help, I promise. You can count on me!"

You press on with the rest of the group, making it to the centre of the city. Lying before you, a massive skyscraper.

"That's almost as high up as the Shooting Star building," Reiji comments.

"What is it?" Seishiro asks.

Hikaru places a finger to her chin. "Pretty sure it's the building of some research institute. I think they study astronomy and the likes, wanting to further explore space travel."

"Tsuki probably just wanted to hang out in the highest point in the city," Kazuma explains. "Even before he was revealed as a demon, he had a gargantuan ego."

"Well, we don't have time to worry about that," Akio points out as he motions to the battle happening before you. The demon slayers seem to mostly be down and out at the hands of none other than Yami, who is now doing battle with Tekina, Takeshi and Akihito.

"They managed to hold me off for as long as they could," Yami brags. "But after all those waves of Moon Beasts, they were too worn down to take me on."

"You sound like you want a challenge?" Akihito remarks, swinging his blade at Yami, managing to keep the demon on the ropes. "I'm happy to provide one."

"You? A challenge?" Yami laughs, as he grabs Akihito's sword, flinging your teacher into the nearest wall with sheer force. "Don't be ridiculous. How have you folks not realised by now that there is no challenge for-GAH!"

Seems Akihito let himself get taken down as a distraction on the behalf of none other than Takeshi, who hits Yami with a massive blast of fire emanating from his sword, taking the demon down into the concrete below... concrete that happens to be coated in some sort of acid Tekina planted. As Yami yells in pain and picks himself back up, floating in mid-air, he is again welcomed by Akihito's sword being driven into his shoulder.

"Damn, my uncle's pretty cool..." Akio smirks. "Never knew he had skills like that."

"Everyone stay back," you order. "Let the teacher's handle him for now, and we can just pick him off from a distance."

"Yami..." Etsuko mutters. "So... that's how he is now."

"I'm sorry you had to see this," Chihiro comments, "It must be awful for you, dear."

Those of you with ranged weapons, including yourself move forward and begin to fire away at Yami whenever there is enough space cleared between him and the teachers. As you let loose, you find yourself wondering if the trio of Akihito, Tekina and Takeshi even need your help to begin with. They're so fast, so skilled so capable... Yami is having serious difficulty trying to handle their co-ordinated attacks, regardless of how eagerly he swing his chainsaw blade.

"Give it up, Yami," Akihito demands as he drives his blade into Yami's shoulder, as Takeshi does the very same from behind, "You can quit now and we can take down Tsuki. You'll save us all a lot of time."

"Now why would I do something like that?" Yami smirks, before shaking the two teachers off of him. "I think I'm just going to-GAH!"

A vial of some combustible material to the face from Tekina, followed up by a barrage of ammunition from the rest of you. You let loose with your gauntlet, Seishiro and Raiden are firing away with their pistols, Satomi is flinging vials of her own, Alice is conjuring up some energy blasts, Akira is unleashing her heavy ammunition, while Akemi goes wild with turrets. Hoshi is conjuring up magical ammunition of her own, and Takeshi himself finishes the barrage with a massive fireball emitted from his sword, coating Yami and leaving him invisible due to a cloud of smoke.

"Damn... I'm surprised that idiot janitor has that kind of power... hell, when he's serious like this... it looks like he's more powerful than any of the others."

"Did... did we get him?" Saki asks.

"Even if we didn't, that's bound to have done some serious damage," you reply.

You all wait for the smoke to clear... but Yami doesn't. From the cloud concealing the demon, a beam of energy flies out, hitting Hikaru directly in the chest, taking her down.

"Babe, no!" Akio yells as she collapses to the floor.

"Hikaruuuuu!" Satomi screams in fear, her best friend going immediately limp.

Hiro wastes no time in tending to her as the smoke begins to clear.

"I sure hope that hit someone!" an angry Yami yells from within. "You have no idea how much that pissed... me... off!"

He swings his arms out, and the smoke is blown away, revealing Yami just as he was. You'd be a fool to think you could take him down that easily, but at least you know you've been hurting him, though that fact doesn't make up for him almost killing one of your classmates.

"You bastard!" Akio yells, readying his spear. "You piece of shit! I'm gonna kill you!"

The attack on Hikaru has left Akio in a rage, as he charges forward in order to do battle with the demon directly.

Akio is angry and headstrong, so you don't know if your words can get through to him. Seeing someone as important to him as Hikaru go down like that has sent him into a rage.

"Akio!" Akihito chimes in. "Don't be rash! Think of Hikaru!"

"You can't rush in like that again!" you call out, as Akio stops in his tracks before meeting with Yami, clutching his spear tight. "I know you want to hurt him, but you can't do it alone without a plan! Fall back!"

"Dammit..." Akio grimaces, before running back to the group, immediately turning his attention to Hikaru, dropping to his knees before her. "Hikaru, baby... how is she?"

"I have a pulse, but it's faint..." Hiro explains. "And she's not waking up..."

"Babe..." Akio mutters. "We need to get her to safety. That's what's important here..."

Hiro nods, and the two pick Hikaru up and move her away from the commotion. You never expected Akio to turn away from a fight... but you suppose he realised what's truly important to him.

"Oh, what's that?" Yami laughs. "A coward running with his tail between his legs? How unfortu-"

Yami is unable to finish before being stabbed in the back with a longsword, driving directly through his chest. "I'll have you know that's my nephew," Akihito explains. "Don't talk trash about my family."

Akihito pulls the blade from Yami, who takes a wild swing with his chainsaw blade. Akihito ducks, and makes way for another blast of fire from Takeshi, sending the demon crashing through the walls of the building. He scrambles out, but is still being barraged by fire.

"Heh... you three sure are strong..." Yami admits. "You're even as strong as those former demons... but it's still useless fighting me."

"Huh? Why?" Takeshi asks. "Is it because you're sorry and you give up? Because I won't lie, it would be very nice if you were."

"No..." Takeshi mutters. "Don't you get it? The more you hurt me... the weaker I get. The weaker I get, the more... control IT has over me. The more control it has... the stronger I get."

Yami smiles devilishly as he finishes saying that, as you notice darkness swirling around him, coating his body...

"Oh crap... this whole time... he's been holding The Darkness back. He didn't want to lose control, but now...
he's even stronger than we thought.
"

Yami wastes no time in pointing to the side, and firing a blast of energy which pierces through Tekina's leg, causing her to fall to the floor.

"NO!" Takeshi yells in panic and concern, dropping his barrage of fire in the process. A big mistake, as The Darkness wastes no time in firing another concentrated bullet of energy directly into Takeshi's neck, rendering him down and out.

"We hurt him enough that he got desperate... but him being desperate means he's stronger now. A double-edged sword."

"Takeshi!" Akihito yells, before charging Yami with his sword. Yami catches the blade and shatters it in half, before grabbing Akihito by the head and driving his skull repeatedly into the walls of the research building. Slamming him again and again, before tossing him to the floor and revving up his chainsaw blade.

Teach is in trouble, and you and the others can't stand back any longer. The time has come to jump into action, before he can finish Akihito off.

"Say goodbye to your precious teacher!" The Darkness cackles as he comes bearing down upon Akihito... but he is soon intercepted by a flash of motion... or rather, someone moving at the speed of a flash.

"What the-" The Darkness wonders, before being hit by Rei again. "Stop that!"

He swings at Rei, who easily dodges, as he is then hit by an even heavier barrage of attacks from Akemi, who in the time of the battle seems to have build a variety of massive missile launching turrets.

"Leave my teacher alone!" Akemi yells, before unleashing an explosion the likes of which you've never seen on Yami. The force of the blast is enough to shatter all of the windows in the nearby buildings... and Yami's punishment is far from finished. As the dust settles on that barrage, Yami doesn't even have time to breath before Isamu is leaping towards him with his fist clenched.

"BEGONE, FOUL DEMON! SO SAYS... THE GOLDEN CHAMPION!" Isamu yells, his fist glowing with a golden sparkle as it makes contact with Yami's face. Good thing his angel power actually came out at that moment, as Yami is launched into a crater in the ground.

With The Darkness down and out, at least for the moment, and as Isamu immediately collapses from exhaustion after that punch, you hunker down by Akihito's side. "You okay, Teach?"

"Yes..." Akihito smiles through a pained groan. "I... I suppose I'm lucky to have students who care for me like this..."

"Okay, don't make it sappy," you smirk.

"It seems you're still having difficulty," a voice mutters, causing you to turn around, seeing Miyoko standing before you. "I am very thankful you and your friends arrived when you did. We fought through so many, but the sheer number of Tsuki's forces proved too much for us at first."

>Well, just stand back and leave the rest to us.

"How confident!" Miyoko laughs. "I do like that about you, Stranger. And while I appreciate your assistance, could it be that you don't trust us?"

"Nah, we're just happy to finish this off," you explains. "You did some good work clearing a path, and now it's our turn."

"Well, I certainly won't stop you," Miyoko smiles, bridging her fingers. "I have more than enough faith in your team. And I have received word of something that requires our immediate attention."

"And what might that be?" you ask.

Miyoko shakes her head. "I didn't want to worry you with it at a time like this, but... they are coming."

"Who is?" you ask.

"The others," Miyoko replies.

"What others?"

"The others from that ritual you so selfishly performed, Stranger. The remaining eleven rogue archdemons that were unleashed."

"Oh..." you mutter.

"Don't focus on that now. We... I'll clean that mess up later."

"What do you mean they're coming?" you ask.

Miyoko shakes her head. "Did you expect them to spend all their time in the Darkworld when they had the ability to leave? No, they finished their business there, and now they are coming here. I wouldn't be surprised if some were here already. But for now, that is my issue, not yours. You still have to defeat The Eclipse after all."

"Yeah..."

"I'll leave you to that, Stranger."

As she turns to walk away, Miyoko is addressed by Soshu, the tattooed member of her group. He point in the direction of Alice, who is doing battle with The Darkness alongside her protoge and the others.

"The Dreamer is still alive," he mutters.

"We will discuss this later," Miyiko directly replies in a serious tone.

"Be sure that we do."

"The others... and they're all as powerful as this?"

"Well, a few are probably more powerful..."

"And there are times when I think you aren't a monster..." Nina mutters.

"Hey, it wasn't my intention! It was just a byproduct! Besides, I did it for Ryoji's benefit-"

"No, you did it for your own... just like keeping me here. I was supposed to die, but the only reason I'm still here is because you selfishly wanted someone to talk to in this place you don't belong..."

>Stranger, you'll have to answer for the things you've done soon.

>Now's not the time for that, you two! Cut it out!

"Right... I lost my temper, I'm sorry..." Nina mutters.

"You're right, we can talk about this later... I'm sorry, by the way."

"Excuse me?"

"What was that?" you ask. "Did you just apologise for something?"

"Yeah... I was selfish. It wasn't my right to bring you back like that. I'm sorry."

"Oh... w-well you should be."

"Oh, and by the way?" Miyoko adds from behind you as she walks off. "I have a feeling that one of us will insist on fighting."

What did she mean by that? Who is she referring to?

It doesn't take very long for you to get your answer, as the sound of small footsteps seem to echo through the street as a thin, dark-haired, and silent girl casually steps towards the battle, blade in hand. She stares intently at Yami, who smirks as he sees her, knocking a few of your friends back to clear the distance between them.

"Well, well, well..." Yami mutters. "My other half is very loud right now. It... The Darkness... it really wants to see you."

Omitsu doesn't speak, and continues to stare.

"So... you're The Light?" Yami remarks. "You're the one who beat me last time... I remember. The Light... you're like our opposite. Pretty young girl... pretty young face, it would be a shame if I had to tear it apart."

Omitsu doesn't speak, and continues to stare.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" Yami laughs. "Or are you just scared? Yes, that's it... the little girl is afraid of the dark. Well, it's not The Darkness that's scary, little girl... what's scary is what's hidden within-"

Omitsu doesn't speak, raises her sword, and slices Yami in half.

A single sharp streak of energy from a swing of her blade is all it takes to cut Yami in two at the waist. His eyes widen in fear as he floats through the air, as his bottom half falls to the floor below. You hear Etsuko gasp behind you as Yami is hit by another slash of light energy, tearing him apart once more... but it's then that you see The Darkness taking shape. It was coating his body before, but now the dark goo is forming replacement body parts, reforming Yami until he is more monster than man... sprouting horns, his blade growing larger and taking on a different shape, the blade of a demon lord... looking at him now, you can see that Yami is almost gone, and The Darkness has all but completely took over. And despite her unchanging expression, you can sense deep within Omitsu that this is what she wants... this is what she wants to fight... this is what she wants to kill.

You're not taking any chances by letting Omitsu take on Yami by herself. The rest of you charge in and keep up the attack as well, keeping Yami distracted to give Omitsu even better shots at him, though you can sense from her expression that she doesn't appreciate others getting in the way. You understand the frustration, but as cool as it can be, now is not the time for epic one-on-one showdowns. Now is the time to eliminate a major threat as quickly as possible, because you don't have all that much time.

While Yami is distracted, Omitsu continues to take advantage, slashing him with her blade and opening him up. His insides are simply darkness now, constantly regenerating itself. Despite this, you can tell that Omitsu's light energy is wearing him thin and doing lasting damage... and it may be the only thing that does.

Yami is hit by Omitsu yet again, and this time is slammed into the ground causing another crater. Omitsu hovers over it... before a tendril of darkness sprouts up and wraps itself around her wrist, causing her to lose grip of her sword.

"Heheheh..." The Darkness mutters, his voice changing from that of Yami's to something much more distorted. "I have you now... and there's no escaping-GAH!"

As it turns out, Omitsu didn't even need her sword, as a blade of light energy shoots from her clenched fist, piercing into The Darkness' chest. By this point, you can't help but smirk. He's up against the ropes, and there's nothing he can do. It took a hell of a lot of effort, but with Omitsu's help you finally have him. Yami is about to-

"She can't do it. She can't kill him."

"What do you mean? She has him beat."

"No, she's beating him... but at this rate she'll never beat him. Look at our surroundings... the environment favours him."

You shake your head. "The hell are you talking about, Stranger?"

"It's a dark night," Stranger explains. "And the Sun is being eclipsed. Yami is able to replenish himself,
draw more life and energy from the darkness around us... and right now he has an infinite supply of it. Omitsu meanwhile needs light to reach her full potential, but as it stands she's only attacking in quick, small precision bursts... because she can't replenish her energy, and she doesn't have a lot to begin with.

Dammit... you hate to admit it, but it looks like Stranger might be right. Omitsu is hoping her innate advantage can defeat him despite the conditions... but no matter how much she hurts him, she can permanently finish him off with her current restrictions. "So... now what?"

"Well, I was hoping to save this for Tsuki, but it's looking like we might need to make use of the power stone..."

"Ryoji... I have an idea," Raiden mutters, standing beside you.

You turn your head. "Huh? You... have an idea?"

"Yes," Raiden replies. "I... I've been thinking about his powers, his abilities, I didn't want to rush in a rage like I've done before... and I think I've come up with a way to finish him. The plan in question... it's risky. I'll be putting myself in danger again... but it's not rash. I'm smarter about it this time, and I really believe it can pay off. Do you trust me, Ryoji?"

You're not sure what this plan of Raiden's is, but you imagine it must involve some sort of trap. Raiden has failed at many hurdles before... he wears the scars to prove it... but you can tell he's finally thought this one out. Not only that, you can tell that he needs this. He sees this plan as a redemption of sorts for him... but to you really want to take a risk at a time like this?

>Okay, Raiden... I trust you. Go ahead.

Raiden nods. "Thank you, Ryoji... I need you to distract him for a moment while I prepare. I'll also need Omitsu to fall back for the time being."

"Got it," you reply. "This better pay off, Raiden."

"I promise," Raiden replies. "And Ryoji... if this is the last time we speak, I want you to know that I am truly sorry for all that I've done. Perhaps if I wasn't so reckless and blinded by rage... we could have been best of friends. Thank you for having faith in me, despite having done nothing to deserve it."

"I have faith in all of my friends," you reply. "And cut out this mushy crap. This isn't a goodbye, your plan's gonna work."

You press forward and begin to unload on Yami, distracting him in preparation for Raiden's plan. As the others continue their attacks to keep him busy, drawing his attention from Omitsu who slinks away to the back. It's after some time of keeping the powerful demon busy that the fighting is halted by the cry of a woman.

"YAAAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" Etsuko screams at the top of her lungs, standing firmly rooted in the street before you.

The Darkness immediately turns his head and stares at her, his face twitching as a surge of Yami begins to bubble up to the surface. "E-Etsuko? Why are you... n-no... it's too late, I'm already a m-monster... WHY DID YOU COME HERE?! Y-YOU STUPID BITCH!"

"Yami!" Etsuko cries. "I know you're in there somewhere! You... you can't let that thing win! It... it's me, remember? Etsuko... remember the time we had together? Remember the days we would lie in bed and do nothing? Remember all those silly poetry jams I'd drag you too, and all the stupid baseball games you'd drag me too? I... I know you have your problems, but you're not some monster! You're a man... the man I fell in love with all those years ago..."

"E-Etsuko..." Yami mutters, pain coming through even his distorted voice. "N-no... The Darkness... he wants you gone... wants... wants full control... Etsuko... run, please."

With that, Yami begins to move towards her, drawing his sword. He's not even close by the time Raiden leaps in front of her, standing his ground. "Get far behind me," he mutters to Etsuko. "I'll keep you safe."

"Who the hell are you?" The Darkness asks, approaching and towering over Raiden. "Who are you to stand in my way?"

Raiden doesn't flinch, and continues to stand his ground. "My name... is Raiden Yoi. At a young age, I lost both my parents to a fire. I spent my days in an orphanage in the small town of Jōryoku... which you later destroyed. My first love, I lost to a demon. From that day on, I swore vengeance against the murderous, horrible creatures of your realm. I became a spirit of vengeance, tossing aside all life that I once had, focusing on the killing, the removal of demons. I thought that I could never live a normal life again... until somebody taught me I could. With the help of some special friends... I learned that I could live again, that I could love again... that I could hope again."

"Do you ever shut up?" The Darkness asks, drawing ever closer.

"I took that wonderful gift for granted... I was too blinded by my hatred, by my anger to see what lay before me... and so I failed yet again. I helped you be released from your prison... you are my mistake. Though I must thank you... it was that mistake, and the price I paid for it, that helped me realise my true worth. I am not fuelled by hatred... no, I am fuelled by love. By a need to keep those that matter to me save. I no longer live to kill... I live to protect! To protect the lives of those I love! And to protect the memory of those that fell at the hands of evil!"

"Stop talking, you're really pissing me off!" The Darkness yells.

"For Sho Takeda..." Raiden continues. "For Daisuke Hayate... for Nina Nagata... for Yamato Misawa... For Maya Itchome... and for Saki Kobashi... for Sayeka Ohko... for Ryoji Shida... for Akemi Ibushi... I, Raiden Yoi, shall destroy you!"

"I said shut up!" Darkness screams, raising his blade above Raiden's head.

"Now, Akemi!" Raiden announces, as Akemi pulls the switch on her trap. From beneath Raiden and the demon springs up a pillar of pure light... Omitsu's energy. It covers the both of them, beaming to the skies above as The Darkness lets out a high, piercing, distorted scream of pain.

"I see... pretty risky move from Raiden. Omitsu couldn't take out The Darkness with he continued blasts and slashes because he would keep regenerating... so Raiden had her pool all of her remaining energy into the trap he and Akemi set. The Darkness would keep recovering from a barrage of attacks, but if he could be hit with a single, all-encompassing blast, he would be taken down. Raiden assured that such a hit would land by luring Darkness into it... if that plan had failed, Raiden would be a dead man... and us too."

You shake your head and grimace... Raiden may still be a dead man. The pillar of light that rose from the trap... he's caught in it as well. He may not be as sensitive to it as The Darkness is, but that level of energy all concentrated on him... there's no way he can survive that. Raiden... the stupid bastard sacrificed himself for all of you.

Once the pillar of light clears, you rush to the side of Raiden. He and what remains of Yami fall to the floor, Raiden completely limp.

"Raiden!" Akemi cries out with concern, rushing to his side. "He... he told me it would only hit the bad guy!"

"He probably expected it to..." Saki mutters sadly. "He probably didn't realise he'd have to be in the blast radius to ensure the hit until the very last moment... but it didn't change his mind."

"Dammit, Raiden..." you punch the ground beside you in frustration. "You reckless idiot... why'd you have to do something like that."

"Raiden!" Akemi yells, shaking his lifeless body. "You can't die! I... I drew up a list of all the fun things we were going to do! You've never bungee jumped! You never played lazer tag! S-Summer was coming up... I was going to take you to the beach for the first time..."

Akemi eyes begin to swell with tears as she clings to Raiden's lifeless body... before jolting upright with wide eyes. "Oh hey! He's breathing!"

"He is?!"

"Yep!" Akemi exclaims after double checking. "Only a little, but he is! Does this mean he's going to be okay?"

Tekina moves quickly to inspect the damages of her student. "He's comatose... I have no idea how long for, but he's still alive. Give him some time... and I think we'll see him up and dancing again... or whatever active thing he does!"

"I can't believe Raiden did that..." Saki mutters.

>I can. That's just Raiden.

"Yep!" Akemi exclaims. "That's just what Raiden does!"

"You felt it, right?"

"Felt what?"

"The power when that trap went off... not just Omitsu's energy... Raiden's. There's no way he would have survived being caught in that if that power didn't start to come out during his little speech. Who'd have thought that Raiden of all people would come close to unlocking his Archangel form?"

Saki smiles. "I'm worried about him... but I can't say I'm not proud of what Raiden did... we finally took down The Darkness."

"D-don't jump the gun..." a voice from behind you gasps and groans. You turn around, to see none other than Yami himself, having risen up to his knees, barely conscious. You ready your gauntlet and point it at him, but he shakes his head.

"No need to piss yourself..." he groans. "I can't move anymore... and besides, I want one of you to finish me off... before it takes over again..."

"You're asking for death now?" Saki asks.

"I get it... no matter what horrible shit I do... you're kids, and you just can't stand killing. But trust me, it's about time I was sent packing... I'm a monster. Even before the demon came in... I killed my father, y'know. Left him out in the cold to die... murder. And I liked it. I liked killing, and I wanted this thing inside me... but now all I want if for this thing to burn up into ashes with me..."

"Yami..." Etsuko mutters, slowly approaching.

Yami stares at her with longing in his eyes. "Etsuko, baby... heh, this is the perfect day. I get to die, and I get to see your face again... one last time... you're even more beautiful than I remember..."

"Y-Yami..." Etsuko sobs. "I... I never wanted you to turn out like this... I-I thought I could help you, I'm sorry..."

"Nah, you did everything you could," Yami assures her. "Some people are beyond saving... it was too late for me by the time we met... but I do remember those days. All those days you said... they were so perfect. Those were the only times I felt human. But you can't hide from the truth for long. Now, please... before it comes back... finish me."

"One of us is going to have to lay the final blow," Saki sighs, closing her eyes sombrely. "Oh... no matter how horrible the villain is... it's always painful to take a life."

"Raiden wanted to lay the final blow," you point out. "But, well..."

"I should do it," Etsuko mutters. "I... I should close this chapter."

"She could," Stranger points out. "Even though she's not awakened, Yami has absolutely none of his powers right now. He has the strength of a normal human, so another normal human could finish him off."

>Go ahead, Etsuko. If that's what you really want to do.
>I'll do it. I'll take on the burden.
>Omitsu... do you think you can take him back to yours? Give him a bath in that mystic water?

It is kind of our fault to begin with anyway.

Third chance, best chance.

Nah, he's done. Raiden would've wanted this as well.

Pretty sure this bit us in the ass once already. Not keen on making the same mistake twice.

>Omitsu... do you think you can take him back to yours? Give him a bath in that mystic water?

"Nah, I don't want that..." Yami mutters. "I-I don't want you giving me some special water or anything like that... I've already decided this is the end of the line for me."

"The water can remove The Darkness from you and-"

"I'm a killer with or without The Darkness," Yami explains. "And I'll do it again, with or without The Darkness. I can't help myself... and there's no helping me. If one of you don't off me, I'll do it myself."

Dammit... he has his mind set. Then again, you've seen into his mind before. He's telling the truth when he says he was rotten before the demon. And it seems that while he recognises his horrible actions, he can't stop them.

"But... now that you mention it..." Yami mutters while looking towards Omitsu. "Besides the kid over here, you're the one that took me and it down... I think you've earned the right to finish it."

Omitsu nods, as she approaches with her blade.

"Heh, now there's someone who's eager..." he jokes. "You know, I'd like a nice clean beheading... that's a pretty good way to go."

"I'm sorry this is how things ended..." a tearful Etsuko mutters. "I... I'll miss you, Yami."

"Miss you too..." he replies. "Also, turn away. I don't want you to see this."

As Etsuko turns her back and is soon comforted by Chihiro, Yami turns his attention back to Omitsu. "Hey, do any of you kids have a light? I'd like a last smoke before I go."

You're willing to oblige, popping a cigarette into his mouth and lighting it up on his behalf. "Heh, can't believe you actually have one," Yami laughs. "I guess I just have all the luck, huh?"

And those are Yami's last words. With a puff of smoke and a swing of the blade, his head topples to the floor. Omitsu takes it with her, silently setting off to join the rest of her compatriots ahead.

"The Darkness is gone..." Saki mutters. "And a stronger enemy awaits."

"Shit, yeah..." you remember. The battle with Yami almost made you forget that he's not even your final opponent here... and the eclipse is almost complete.

Saki sighs. "I... I don't know Ryoji. How are we going to take Tsuki on? How are we going to beat him?"

"You're not, Saki..." a familiar voice from behind you bellows, as you hear the clinking of metal behind you. You turn your head to see a large figure, a powerful figure decked out in startling shining armour. At first glance, you'd be amazed to think such a figure belonged to an eighty year old man.

"G-grandfather...?" Saki raises an eyebrow, staring at her old role model with a mix of shock and reverence.

Wei marches to the front of the group, moving past you, easily hauling a greatsword that beats even you in height with a single hand. "I'm going to kill this demon," he announces, and wastes no time in pressing on.

Well... it's not the back-up you expected. But you sure as hell have no complaints.

Thanks for playing! After a two and a half week break brought on by writer's block, it feels so good to be back! The wait for the next thread won't be nearly as long, in fact, it could be here as early as tomorrow, and no later than this Friday! Follow the Twitter for any updates!

And so, we finish the penultimate episode of the season, and Ryoji's last POV of the season. Our finale thread will instead take place in the POV of someone we all know very well, the most major character yet to receive one... Saki! This is also the part where I announce that Saki will have regular POV's in the following season. So yeah, what are your predictions for that, as well as the season finale?
>>
>>1379042
Wei too cool, Yami death too sad, this was a great thread, Booker.

>>1379063
Oh, fuck, did not see that coming. I'm predicting HYPE.
>>

Thanks for running Booker, ep was good.

Predicting Saki fangirling over Wei while I fangirl along side her. Hype for Sak pov too
>>

Thanks for running Booker.

Saki trying to show Wei she can live up to the Kobashi legacy, then being uncharacteristically incompetent because of the Dice Gods.

Fantastic thread Booker. High drama, high tension, and high stakes. I do feel bad for Etsuko but I am happy with how the Yami arc ended. Having Etsuko kill him would not have been good for her.

Love the heavy push for Ninsei/Sora's relationsip, and especially happy for Raiden. Dude being closer to angelhood after that fit so well. And I am just happy that Akemi doesn't suffer a further heartbreak.

Akio/Hikaru looks like it will be fun too. I look forward to that.

>PQ
I am quite thrilled to play the ol' Sakmeister. She should bring something different to the table, and I really look forward to what she thinks about her boy and the rest of the cast. Fascinating stuff.

Wei hype, you best prepare! Old man is going to kick some ass!
