your childhood fascination for goblins has led you to this moment. there are goblins in this house and you know it.

Shit. Break a leg from the table to use it as a club. Open door to bedroom.
>>
>>1422882
Use the table to barricade the bathroom (they can come up through the toilet, you know!) and enter the bedroom. As you've just observed, the window has a long drop and you doubt any Goblins could make their way in, rather make their way out... you hope. Make sure to do this very quietly, as you don't want your parents to wake up and run into a pack of goblins. (are you still a child?)

You are a little hunter of goblins. If you were big like Daddy, you'd be able to do big things no problem, like break sturdy things and block doors with tables. But then goblins wouldn't try to pick on you. They'd run away before you could ever catch them.

Anyway, breaking a table takes time, and moving a table takes strength, if you want to do it quietly.

Luckily, the legs are screw-ins. The one you pick is square like the others and uncomfortable to grip and loosen up. Righty tighty? Oh, but that's not true if what you're unscrewing is in the bottom.

You manage it with some scuffle.

You stand a moment in what feels like pointed silence, as though the world is impatient at how easily your determination has been sapped by unscrewing a table leg.

That's your bedroom in front, and if you need the bathroom, it won't be for the potty.

You went potty to prepare for tonight's battle, and even though nothing came up and grabbed you, that doesn't mean nothing will this time if you get too close!

Well, it'll be a bit safer with this table leg, right?

Skreekr...bip? Usually you have an escape plan first when you're feeling brave enough to call out to the goblins, so you make sure to be extra quiet this time.

A goblin! It was holding up the shower curtain with its big claws! It is looking for a real goblin.

Final result: -9. The goblins who've tormented you for years probably never had anything nice to say for you to learn anyway. The Long-Nosed Snaky Faucet Goblin seems to take a deep breath. Is it going to say anything?

No, it's just going to sneeze cold water all over you. You're blinded for a short moment, and in the time it takes to push your wet blanket away from your eyes, the lights go out.

"I'm sorry!" you yell, and you're off like a shot, closing the door behind you in the quietest hurry you can manage.

>17/20 Noise, no roll can mitigate. Yelling is yelling.

You don't look behind you. You know the goblins won't follow. They always disappear when you yell. But you know they're still there, even when you close your eyes, and they're waiting for you to come back and look.

Don't look at the door. Don't leave it behind.

>>

You run to your room. Your door used to have a lock, but Daddy took it off. He said it wasn't safe for you to have one until you were older. So, you throw a few toys against the door, but not too many, or the goblins under the bed will get out.

>Noise 18/20

It's dark. You're cold. You can't sit by the floor heater vent until you're sure they won't bother you. You hear something growling downstairs. And crickets. Crickets sound nice.

>Scream. Mommy will get to you first. You hope.

It's cold, but under the blanket is the safest place you know! Aside from with Mommy and Daddy or on your bed, anyway. No way you can take it off.

You back into a corner and curl up. The growl gets quieter and goes away. Something moves across your wall. You're cold and it's dark.

You're already holding that table leg. You'll definitely hit any goblins that come too close. The toys are all under the bed to keep the goblins stuck there. But what if they jump out out after all? If you get up to fight them, the ones in the walls will get out from behind you.

Something moves across the wall and stops. You're cold and it's dark. Why don't they go away?

There's nowhere to go. The bathroom isn't safe, and in your room, they're all waiting. You know they're watching when you close your eyes, but they never come.

And that is how Mommy and Daddy find you in the morning. Shivering in a corner ("Night terrors."), drenched ("Cold sweats."), and clutching a table leg ("Getting clever, this one." "Dear!")

Fanks. That name's not familiar to me. I did salvage Dr. Waffles' Perfect Breakfast, though, and tried to do the same with a group adventure game. I don't believe either was archived. Pic is the good doctor experimenting with overripe bananas.

I have an affinity for abandoned things.

I also ran Noble Magics. Warriors of light and all that good stuff. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/848798/

And then there's this too, a good deal more cryptic but set in the same universe as Nobles. Read if you're brave or enjoy reading verse.

Something's come up and I expect to be delayed a further few hours. Thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, roll call please? If it's only two, I'll probably start a new thread so I don't have to roll for (as many) tiebreakers.
>>
Well then.
