Dungeon Civ takes place inside a stereotypical RPG Dungeon.

You are a race of Slimes living on the 55th floor of the Dungeon. Floor 55 is a Ruined City which grants defensive bonuses. The most recent Dungeon God has granted all the creatures on your Floor sentience and the ability to grow beyond their initial parameters. You were a mid level boss named Kulnarth (the all consuming) a Royal Slime.

You have made several special types of Slime, met another Boss, acquired a Fire Mage named Ash, leveled her up into Water Mage by accident, and have cleared the nearest zone to yours the Ruined Slums.

>Stats
Breeding determines how quickly your race spawns and respawns, and the Floor unit cap for your race.

Melee determines how well you fight with Melee weapons, and the maximum level of Melee weapons your race can equip. Also determines your base defense against Melee attacks.

Ranged works like Melee, but for Ranged weapons. Ranged weapons do less damage than Melee weapons on average. Also determines defense against Ranged attacks.

Magic determines what type of Magic you can equip. Equipping a type of magic will often change your type conferring bonuses and weaknesses. Also determines the strength of your magic and defense against magic.
(Some magic will require a Melee or Ranged roll)

Technology is useful for building and detecting traps, and determines the best equipment your race naturally produces. Also effects accessory limits.

Diplomacy affects party size, trade, and your diplomatic interaction with other races. Also determines whether or not you can accept a certain race into your Hero's Party.

Many of these can be improved or modified.

>Heroes

A hero is a unit well above the average for its race. Some Dungeon Races generate Heroes naturally, others have to work towards them. Heroes are allowed to equip special equipment and act independently of their racial holdings.

Sometimes a group of Heroes will descend into the Dungeon from the Outside. These are almost always powerful beings hoping to challenge the Dungeon God. It is not unheard of for such Heroes to annihilate entire Floors.

>Floor

The Floor is your world, but that doesn't mean you know all its secrets. Becoming the dominant Race on a floor can allow you to increase its Level.
Floor 55 has recently become a level 2 Floor.

>Stronghold

The Stronghold is the center of your Race's power. Heroes will rest here when not on assignment or questing. And the items of fallen Adventurers and Heroes will be stored here. If your Stronghold is destroyed all of your basic racial units on that floor will die immediately leaving only your Hero units. Your Stronghold is the Ruined Baths zone next to the Floor starting area.

>Dice

All rolls are 1d20 best of three. Your roll will be modified by magic, equipment, accessories, racial bonuses, and other modifiers as deemed necessary.

>LAST POST OF OLD THREAD

Under your careful supervision three more Slimes are chosen to get Skellies. The first one seems to be going well until,

"The power! The height! The awe inspiring TALLNESS!! Nothing can stop me now, nothing can sate my desire for conque-"

SMACK.

"Ahhh my head!"

Hmmm that's probably a coincidence right? On to the next one.

"Oh you foolish fools! How you laughed at me when I was short, but who will now laugh the last laugh from atop the Legs of Superiority? Bow to your new-"

SMACK.

"How can this be?"

Maybe they're all like that? Only one way to find out.

"hehehe."

What?

"Muahaha. Muahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHA-"

SMACK.

"Ow."

Hmmm these Bone Slimes are uppity. If only you were taller, that would keep them in their place for good. Not that they'll soon forget the lessons you taught them today, but still.

Legs might be nice.

The change to a Level 2 floor is amazing! Floor 55 has been Level 1 since you first spawned! Time to level up your self, your Slimes, everyone!

Huh!? There's a prompt. How rare.

>Level 2 can be unlocked by building Stronghold lvl 2.

Wuah! Surging into your Throne room on a tide of excitement you inspect the Stronghold.

Hmm. Ah here it is!

>Stronghold (Ruined Baths) lvl 2.
Requires: Temple of Undine, Temple of Zephyr, Forge, Expanded Baths (1/3)

Booo so much work! Slimes flee in every direction like droplets as you jump around in rage!

Your Bone Slimes give each other snide looks, but are wise enough to keep their jaws shut.

You send Ash off to commune with Undine while you try to figure out this Forge thing.

Hmmmm you do have some Fire Wands, perhaps they could help?

Ash spends this time communing with Undine.

She seems upset about it, but develops a new spell.

Leaving your snickering Skelly Slimes behind you turn to the one true source of Slime power.

Undine has been called Mother of all Slimes. Even if Human and Elven Adventurers deny this you know it to be true. She will help. You know she will!

Taking your place in front of the massive statue of Undine you reach out with reverent pseudopod to touch the cool metal.

Immediately your core is flooded with the presence of the Mother!

GREETINGS KULNARTH MY DEVOTED CHILD.

Woah, loud. You just wanted to see if you could say Hi.

YOUR PROGRESS HAS PLEASED ME. I HAVE PREPARED GIFTS FOR YOU. EXPAND MY DOMAIN AND THEY WILL BE YOURS. HERE IS THE FIRST OF MANY

>+ 12 xp!!!

>Turn Kulnarth into a level 2 Hero
>Turn Ash into a Level 3 Hero
>bank them for later.

Several hours later you awaken from your divine stupor to find you have ordered a Shrine built. The statue has been carefully moved from the main pool into an attached Temple full of waterfalls and fountains. Decorative channels in the marble floor allow streams to trickle along. It is probably a nicer room than yours!

> -150 Gp

Deciding not to waste any more time you order your Slimes to expand the Pools even further.

With their natural Water magic and Ash's help this proves to be utterly simple.

The second the pool is complete a sense of euphoric accomplishment washes over you.

>+ 6 Xp
>A medium Water Elemental now guards the Shrine of Undine, and can be commanded by you.

Your rapidly progressing towards a level two Stronghold. But the Forge is probably going to be the hardest part.

Ash said she could build the structure, but where are you going to get the Fire?

Turning to your Horde for inspiration you come up with several Fire Wands.

Equipping one allows you to use

>Fire (-50%)

>>
>>1423273
It's high time you put all the naysayers and Skelly Slimes in their places! Time for you to remind everyone on this Floor who the Boss is!

Seizing hold of twelve glowing Xp tokens from the Horde you tilt your face back and drop them into your open maw.

Unadulterated power surges through you as you grow in strength and freedom.

You are no longer bound by the level of your Stronghold and may Level as a Hero.

Kulnarth Lvl 2 Slime Knight!

Skills
>Royal

>Water 2

Equip
>Crown
A sign of your Royalty. You would never take this off.

Your body seems to have compacted into around Human size, but you don't feel like you've lost any strength.

This is amazing! Time to show off!

You slide around on your fully formed Slime legs in front of the Bone Slimes.

Occasionally you pass a hand through your legs or shape shift just to prove to them your better.

They look so jealous. They might as well be made of jelly!

Haha!

Ash shows up at the sound of your maniacal laughter and seems shocked.

"Kulnarth? Is that you?"

Of course it is, can't she see the Crown?

"Oh. I didn't know Slimes could be Heroes"

It's a new age! Down with the oppressive standards of the past!

"Alright then. Congratulations!"

That's right you wanted her advice.

Engulfing her hand in yours you drag her towards the Horde picking up a nascent Slime core along the way.

Using the Combine action you merge ALL your flame Wands into one.

>Staff of Inferno created

What would happen if you merged this with a Core?

"W-well I'm not an expert on combining but-"

LETS FIND OUT FOR SLIENCE!

"Kulnarth, what's Slience?"

THIS IS SLIENCE!!

Using the Combine action you merge the Staff of Inferno and the Slime Core.

Blistering heat radiates off of the Combination. Your hand instantly melts and both Ash and yourself are forced to retreat.

>Inferno Slime requires Stronghold Level 3
Despite that message the Slime core seems to remain near molten in its intensity.

It's breaking the floor.

Maybe you can build a Forge around it? Until then you'll just put up ropes.

Outside your Slime patrols report a single blighted Skaven has approached, he seems to be waiting with a quest marker above his head. What could he want?

>getting a few more actions due to efficient use of Heroes.

Ordering Ash to build the Forge right there next to your Horde you leave to attend to matters far more important.

After all Ash is human, a little Fire won't hurt her like it would a Slime.

>Forge Built

Your race can now generate Weapons or Armor when the Craft option is chosen.

Undine should be properly honored as your mother and Goddess. And since she wants Pools, Pools is what she will have!

Your Slimes are directed to use their Water spells to fill in the last dried pool in the Baths while you look for your three most sneaky Slimes.

You stuff them in Thieves Vests and order them to train until they learn something new.

>Gained 3 thief Slimes

>Undine is pleased

Seeing that things are going well you stride confidently out to meet the old scarred Rat thing.

As you pass through the Main hallway you see an uninspected hourglass.

What could it hurt, the old rat will wait.

>This is a statue of Alteric Lamp-Eyes former leader of a race of Mer-People who called these Baths Home. The statue has toppled and shattered. At its base can be read the following: "All glory to Dungeon God Radick whose might and mercies allow us dominion of 10 Floors! May he Reign for all Turns!"

Intriguing.

Outside the Rat-Man waits patiently for your arrival.

Well, what does it want? It had better not be wasting your Royal time.

"Greetings Kulnarth Slime-thing I am Skathak Sicktwitch Plague-Maker of the Skaven on this floor. I come in regards to Tethys Skitterclaw Boss of the Skaven."

Huh? What about her?

"Surely your Royal smart-bigness has noticed that she seems... unSkaven of late."

Well... she talk oddly now.

"Yessssss [phlegmy snorting noises followed by a small popping] she does. Ever since she donned this "Ninja" job she has done nothing pleasing to the Filth Eater. Rather she obsesses over small figurines and raw fish. If I hear one more utterance of kah-waee I will DROWN this wretched Floor in pestilence! Something must be done. You will murder-help. I will survive-lead. In return you may have part of our sewers for your Spawning."

The Skaven Plague Mage lifts hands turned claw like in rage toward you. You are not sure if this is begging for help or threat.

"The two of us can strike her down with eassssse. [the Skaven pauses to clamp one nostril closed while blowing a chunk of grey ooze out of the other.] What say you?"

While you deal with the Rat Mage your Slimes train diligently.

>learned Rouge Skill Backstab

Deals double damage to an enemy suffering from Stun, or who cannot see you. Some creature types are naturally immune.

You readily agree to Sicktwitch's brilliant plan. You never liked the other Bosses, and Tethys has been strange recently.

But you want her body.

The frail Plague Mage grins like a maniac before agreeing whole heartedly.

"Come then quick-slick like we will do it now."

No, you need more things first.

"What? Hurry, Hurry! Slay the she-Rat-bitch! Restore the Filth Eater! Remove Weeb!!"

If he wants it done, he can wait till it's done right.

"You have no heels to drag-stall!" He shrieks.

"Filth Eater will rage at this, my curse-words assure it is so!"

Who is this Filth Eater to you? Why should you care?

"The Filth Eater is a great Beast born from a Dungeon God of old. Wretched light-weak Gods needed somewhere to throw all their crap-garbage. Made Dungeon, threw in Crap-Garbage. Dungeon filled up, spilled over. Big Mess! Gods didn't like it so they made Filth Eater out of Dungeon God and made him eat and eat and eat. All bad, all rotten, all sick things he eats. Then one day Filth Eater has to crap. Too much foul-sick. Eight days and eight nights he does, and in the end out crawls first Skaven."

What a repulsive origin.

"Phah, Slime-king no better. All things crap-garbage compared to Gods."

Undine loves you, she has proven it. But you won't argue his mad points. You have work to do.

"Sicktwitch will follow, make sure you do murder-sneak on Tethys!"

Well, this should end well. On the other hand, I am going to make the argument that the Skaven who has joined us is almost certainly going to betray us at the first opportunity. Like as soon as he is leader. I say we double backstab him in the near future instead. Or have the Rogue Slimes do it, they literally just learned the skill

There is a thunderous cracking sound as the axe buries itself four feet deep into the stone wall behind you. Quests don't expire unless something forces them to. You will always have the option of murdering Tethys for Skathak. And she will probably offer you a quest to murder Skathak for her.

Such is Skaven politics.

You advance on the center of the Stronghold. It glows in your sight with an obvious if ethereal light. A locked chest seemingly overflowing with coins and other ill gotten loot. It's defenders gone all it will take is a few well placed attacks.

"If you are going to crash-wreck this place then do it and let us be gone-scampering."

Skathak seems impatient for you to finish your bargain.

You begin smashing away at the Strongholds core. By the tenth hit there is a small entirely to fragile sound as glowing cracks radiate across the surface of the chest. It bursts into dozens of perfectly flat shards of light that slowly drift upwards. As they fade from sight the Guild Hall disappears into nothingness leaving a very large and obviously empty space in the City Slums.

A job well done, you've turned out to be quite the Hero!

Turning to head back-

Wait.

Why are the Baths on fire?

Rushing home you are greeted with a nightmare. The exterior patrols have been slain with some kind of Fire blast. The scorch marks are still evident on the grounds. The battle signs haven't faded, that means someone is still fighting!

Dragging Skathak along despite his protests you race into the Ruined Baths. Everywhere you look Slimes have been boiled away into thick stains on the elegant marble.

Rushing past the main Spawning Pool you see a small group of Imps fighting the Large Water Elemental that guards Undine's shrine. But Deeper inside from the Throne room you also hear fighting.

You can hear them long before you reach the Throne Room.

"Is this really it? Level TWO? Pathetic, utterly pathetic."

"Please, stop. I'm begging you to stop"

Ash's voice, she's alive at least.

Amber light flares bright in the hallway ahead as you hear laughter accompanying the unmistakable sound of a slime flash burning.

"Lord Eviscorax said to slay ALL this places defenders, and I intend to do just that Ash."

You pass the broken remnants of Ash's wand sliced cleanly into three pieces before the doors of the Royal Pool. The doors themselves look to have been blasted into kindling.

Inside the Throne room itself Ash is kneeling in the status of Critical Condition behind the piled Skelly bits of three dead Bone Slimes.

The man responsible for this destruction stands amid the corpses of at least a dozen Imps unconcerned that he is alone. Clad head to toe in black armor and wielding a cruel looking long sword the man reaches down with his gauntleted hand to grab Ash by the neck.

"Frederick plea-"

Her words are choked off by pressure as he squeezes.

"They are monsters Ash, nothing more. They exist to die so we can get stronger. Even "Lord Eviscorax" is nothing more to me than a stepping stone. And once he thinks Godhood in his grasp, I will take what was always meant to be mine!"

Ash's eyes go wide as she sees you In the door.

Frederick notices and tosses her forcefully towards the Forge before turning to face you.

"Speaking of exterminating monsters, the main course has arrived. Come on then your Highness you've kept me waiting quite a while. I'm going to enjoy watching you-"

"DIE!"

Huh?

"What?"

Ash holds aloft the Orb of Ifrit and commands in as powerful a voice as she can, "Come forth Lord Ifrit by my command!"

Her battered body immediately disappears in a flash as a portal to Ifrit's Floor tears itself into being and a portion of the Great Beasts power enters this Floor.

Ifrit uses Hellfire Inferno

The heat is so intense you can barely withstand it even from outside the room.

When the summon ends Frederick is kneeling parts of his armor melted or still flowing molten down his form.

>weakness

Hovers above his head.

The fusion with Ifrit seems to have damaged Ash as well for when her body reappears it is ina pose of unconsciousness.

Frederick is in critical condition, Ash is out of the fight.

Damn, wasn't expecting more adventurers to join up with monster races. Or one to attack us so soon. Its that kind of nice, forshadowed (Forseeable?) but unexpected twist that makes for good writing. I knew I enjoyed this for a reason. And if we can save the mage we can keep her, yay.

As long as your Stronghold remains. Yes.

FYI this was a victory for you guys. Even if it doesn't feel like it.

Frederick has an advanced Job, meaning he had to advance another job to at least level ten before he could start it.

He is probably the most dangerous thing on the Floor and he knew your capabilities before hand and planned for them.

He didn't expect his old Adventuring acquaintance to help with defense. He wasted a lot of time on her disillusionment.

>>

think of a job like a class.

every time you level up you r job increases level as well.

Like Ninja for Tethys, Water mage for Ash, Plague Mage for Skathak, and recently Knight for Kulnarth.

jobs give access to special skills.

you can gain skills from your race, job, equipment, or an accessory

This will not stand. Not in your Throne room, not in your Stronghold, not on your Floor. Frederick must die.

Pulling the reluctant Skaven forward you engage battle with the injured Human.

Gathering all your strength you loom over the kneeling Human and slam your limbs down onto his partially melted helmet.

>-2 damage

How?! Your a Heroic Boss! In your own Throne room! That blow would have crippled a small dragon!

Choked laughter wheezes out from your opponent.

"Heh, surprised Kulnarth? You shouldn't be. After all, I've lost count of the times I've killed you."

K-Killled me?

"Oh yes we go way back All Devourer would you like to know how-"

His words are interrupted as the putrid tongue of the Filth Eater passes over him.

>Immune
>Cursed

Black cored chains of dripping crimson latch themselves into Fredericks form and he frowns as they drain much of his ability to fight.

"Do you stupid monsters honestly expect to stop me with these-"

Once again Frederick's word are cut off by a Skaven as Tethys emerges from Hiding and throws a Kunai that snaps his head backwards with its impact.

"Gomen Kulnarth-San this wretched thing tore through our sewers killing many of us. It falls to me to avenge my fallen brethren."

Is she... posing? Yes she definitely is, no one would stand that leaned over. And the splayed hand in front of her face serves no combat purpose that you can see.

For his part Frederick turns his head towards the lot of you his face contorted in rage.

Frederick uses

>Desperate Guard

"Hmm Kulnarth has Water magic, high Attack, and poison, weak against fire. Nothing to worry about there. I thought you were dead Tethys, but you won't catch me like that again so your no threat either. The Plague Mage however will have to go. There's a chance you'll get lucky after all."

If you can't break through his armor, then you should just break his armor.

A lurid green pseudopod extends dripping with acid from your body. The you slam the destructive tentacle into Frederick and he doesn't even attempt to dodge.

>Armor DECREASED by 3

A brilliant flash of light accompanies Fredericks counter attack. Deadly crimson flames erupt along his blade as it swings towards you. Even with his reduced attack power your Weakness to Fire means that this will hurt. Fortunately the fire doesn't seem to be nearly as intense as the blasts that killed your Slimes.

>Kulnarth Hp 4/15

Your mental command and excited burbling shout summon your remaining Slimes.

As they stall the fleeing imp you gently lay Ash down on the thinly water covered dais of Undines shrine before joining battle yourself.

The Imp is desperate, but even damaged as you are you are more than a match for it.

It's last act before you crush its frail body is to toss a small fireball at you.

>Kulnarth Hp 1/15

>Gained item, left eye of Undine

Returning to the shrine you are barely surprised when the eye floats serenely up to Undines left socket and replaces itself. Immediately the Water Elemental reforms and a sense of calm is restored.

With the last enemy combatant killed the Ruined Bathes revert to their normal condition. All signs of the battle fade save for the curiously empty and silent halls.

Your prayers to Undine at the Shrine are answered, or so you believe, it's hard to be sure. But Ash looks a little better, and will probably wake up soon.

Heading back into the Royal Pool you find that there are some places precious lacking in serenity.

Tethys and Skathak are glaring at one another as they unleash insult after insult upon one another. They haven't attacked each other yet, but it is clearly just a matter of seconds.

That won't do at all.

Swelling to your original bulk you interpose yourself between the two Skaven while roaring at them to stop this foolishness!

They both seem embarrassed, but the glint of ruthlessness remains in their eyes.

Hasn't there been enough death today? They should be working to defeat their common foe, and to rebuild.

"Uwah?! Sumimasen Kulnarth-San. You are of course correct."

Skathak seems to have a different opinion however,

"Pah! We all know one of us must lead-rule. I speak not for Skaven alone, but all this Floor. Why not decide here-now?"

Because all of you are injured, and the winner will be weak enough for Eviscorax to slay with ease. Only together do you stand a chance. And today was proof of that.

Skathak considers this before replying.

"Smart-good words, Skathak will let Kulnarth live until Eviscorax dies. But he will NOT live with this double-hated curse-slut! Let her take her odd-bad picture shows and incomprehensible squiggle-gibberish and leave!"

Many of these options require diplomacy rolls. Some are harder than others. Skaven as a race are partially immune to diplomacy. Other races build up diplomatic relations over time. Skaven reset very turn unless something changes. Only self preservation prevents this reset mechanism.

Tension hangs heavy in the air as the three powerful creatures gauge one another. Each is heavily injured, and an alliance of any two could certainly overwhelm the remaining one. Dozens of options and scenarios play out in the mind of the Skaven rivals, but only one possibility occurs to mighty Kulnarth.

Oh, well I guess you'll just have to join me then.

"nani wo iimashita ka?"

"Grah! Speak Dungeon you freak-weird!"

"... very well, why should I give up my place of power for this weakling? If he were meant to lead he would lead. Let HIM be cast out. He doesn't understand anything important anyway."

Well-

"Nothing Important!? The Filth Eater's will is the most bestest-important thing a Skaven can consider! You just spend all day drooling over your ridiculous deformed picture books!"

"They're manga you sick freak!"

If you could just-

"I don't care what your fever-rot brain calls them, they are worthless trash-junk!"

"Kono yarou!"

"I can even hear your gibberish-insults you worthless slut-tail"

ENOUGH!!!

Both Skaven jump a bit at your outburst. Each relaxes their respective grip on weapons or spell gestures, and both have the decency to look a bit embarrassed.
Before either of them can speak you bull ahead, certain that if you let them they will start fighting again soon enough.

Tethys, even if you kill him someone else will take his place in opposing you. Why not come with me? You can command the their Slimes who are much nicer. And with all the fighting I plan on doing your bound to become super super strong. Plus you can read whatever you want!

Tethys lets out a small sigh as she considers your offer. Her shoulders sag a bit as she frowns to herself. Just when you open your mouth to make a further argument she speaks.

"Gomen Nasai Kulnarth-Sama, it was rude of me to fight in your home. I- will graciously accept your kind offer. Please take good care of me. yoroshiku onegaishimasu."

"Foolish rat. You will rue the day you cast me from my Home! I will train relentlessly until my power surpasses your, and on that Turn I shall be back to claim my revenge!"

Wait, didn't she just agree?
"Accursed Moon-addled flesh-waste, you will never surpass me!"

They're just going to do this aren't they?

Leaving the bickering rats to their own devices you slide out of the Baths towards he Ruined Slums.

The streets are eerily quiet as you slide along. It seems the recent fighting has depopulated the Floor to a barren and empty place. But such is the nature of War you suppose.

Reaching the now empty Stronghold site you impress your rule over it.

A towering mass of light shards erupts from the ground gently swirling in air as they await your decision about what type of Stronghold to build.

>Thieves Lair (Bandit Slimes)
>Black Market Store (may attract merchants)
>Back Alley Corpse Merchants (Generates Skelly's and Souls)
>Imperiled Guardhouse (Defense Bonus for this zone, no special units)
>write in

Once that's done you return home, confident in your new territory.

As you enter you meet Skathak on the way out. Looking above his head you see his name has changed. He is now Skathak Sicktwitch (Vanguard of Decay). He's become a Dungeon Boss.

Cackling with glee he approaches you.

"Hehehe hack- [spittle and a small portion of tooth go flying from his mouth as he coughs violently] Ah, thank you Kulnarth-friend. Our bargain was well struck! May you have much use of the insane-wrong book-reader. Your reward, as promised."

> +6 Xp
>gained use of the Upper Sewer Zone.

This zone can be accessed from a hole in the Ruined Slums.

Cackling with mad triumph the Plague Mage leaves for his new stronghold.

As far as the stronghold goes, I'm a fan of the Black Market idea. Unique resources and NPC's.

Have we found a use for a soul yet? I don't remember anyone using them. Assuming we haven't, we should try to combine a human soul and a young slime core, for slience.

The Ruined Slums are now graced, if such is the right term, by a marvelous new Black Market!

The sprawling open air Bazaar is a maze of back alleys, overlapping tent stalls, rickety buildings, and slinking furtive customers. It's easy to get lost in the Black Market, but perhaps in getting lost you'll find what you were looking for.

There are three open Stores, the first one will attract an

>alchemist
>Mage
>blacksmith
>doctor
>scholar
>travel agent
>fence

You will earn a portion of the gold Adventurers spend in the Black Market, but some of it will vanish into larcenous hands and greedy pockets.

Loot from the defeated Imps is collected, and it proves most enlightening.

>Items found
Human Souls X12, 120 Gp, Demon Hearts X12, Fire wand, Corrupted Short Sword

While your minions gather those items into your Horde you fish out one of the nascent Slime Cores and attempt to Combine it with a Human Soul.

The result is a nasty jolt and a message saying that the two items aren't compatible. Looks like you need some kind of bridge or converting item between the two.

Abandoning that line of thought for now you descend into the Upper Sewers. Half fearful that this is an elaborate trap you proceed with great caution.

Only to find that Skathak seems to have kept his word. The Zone is empty of Skaven life. The only living things down here are non-speaking NPCs like the bugs and fish. Perfect for your needs.

>Gained Upper Sewer Zone

Taking the "experiment" Slime core you place it gingerly in the reeking foulness of the sewer water. At first nothing happens, and you suspect the entire idea to be flawed. Just as you are about to give up however the surface of the putrid water ripples and pulls itself upwards into the shape of a slime.

Or, no wait... Slimes aren't that drippy. What is this?

It means that that zone won't directly contribute towards making new base units.

For example, a Thieves Guild naturally produces Thieves Vests and Rouge Outfits to be combined with a basic Slime to make Theif Slimes.

Deciding to split your nascent cores between the Ruined Baths and the Upper Sewers you order the Slimes you have to move them over to the sewers and make them secure.

That done you turn your attention back to the slime and soul hybrids. What could you possibly use?

After several unsuccessful Knife/Slime attempts you begin digging deeper into your Horde.

There in the deepest parts of the treasure pile you find the foul glowing remains of the creatures that brought you to this low point. A Demon Heart.

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. With slight trepidation you use the Combine command on the two items.

In a flash of sulfurous Hellfire the Core and Heart are consumed leaving behind a faintly glowing and ornately carved Slime Core. The wicked impression of a jaggedly toothed mouth grins across the core, begging to be fed. But fed what?

Elsewhere impatient steps march brazenly up the steps of the Ruined Baths.

How do we get slime cores? Is there a way to increase the rate of obtainment from them? Could we research this perhaps?

When Tentacle Monster really really loves Asian Highschool girl they hold hand and thats how new slim cores are made

slime cores spawn naturally in bodies of water you control.

your too young to know how it works exactly.

the rate can be increased by gaining more territory with water.

the sewers will begin spawning by themselves next turn.

you migh be able to increase your spawn rates artificially, or make a reserve core bank. but it would require a good write in and some work.

contrasting your spawn process with Demons and you guys have it easy.

Rising to greet the new turn you survey your people, filled with pride at their rapid regrowth. Or at least you would have if someone weren't pounding viciously on your front door while issuing muffled hollering.

How is a King supposed to relax with all of that noise?

Traveling through the Corridors you see more and more Slimes gazing toward the front door. Even Ash has risen from her resting to look that way her face set in grim determination.

You reach them and fling them open having mentally prepared yourself for a fight.

Both you and the assembled Slimes are therefore shocked to find a short young looking blond Human girl with intense blue eyes wearing a short white dress. Of course the dress barely matters for the amount of potion bandolier she is adorned with. She also seems to be wearing some kind of symbol on a necklace. It looks like a door with a lock and portcullis made of platinum. You've never seen anything like it. While your still staring in mild shock trying to figure out how she was slamming the door that hard she begins speaking.

"Kulnarth right? King of Slimes, devourer of all, future ruler of Floor 55?"

Well, yes you are all those things you think.

"Great! I'm Alchemist. I asked the Great Dungeon to shop me out to Slimes. I uh, I like you guys. So before we get down to business if you don't mind can I ask if Dungeon God Alcarmen still rules? I mean, no ones screaming so I guess not, but I have to check. Also, your the Boss so I need to check what you want me to sell. I can do potions from just about nothing, Hi-potions are a little hard on a Level 2 Floor, but I can manage pretty much all of the basics. Ooh antidotes are a personal specialty. But don't expect anything super fancy like a Level Up or Elixer."

>what should Alchemist sell?
Any reasonable requests are probably fine.

"Okay, yeah that's a pretty good idea Boss. I'll get right on that. Should be ready next turn. Anything I can do yknow, for you? I have to charge you because the Great Dungeon says so, but you get a really nice discount."

>Would you like anything from Alchemist?

"Alrighty, I'll get started. You can pick up anything you need over at the Shop" Alchemist turns to walk towards the Slums before stopping and looking over her shoulder. "Hey, Kulnarth."

Um, yes Alchemist?

"Thanks." So saying she turns and walks away

What an odd way to start the turn.

Shaking your head from the weirdness of that encounter you turn to much more important matters.

Leveling up. It's the most important thing to do in the Dungeon for Adventurers and Monsters alike.

You first order your Slimes to build the Temple of Zephyr.

Unlike with Undine the god of Winds and Air remains silent, but his temple is completed swiftly since you can use Undines as an example.

There is a gentle sigh of wind through the Baths that carries a hint of lilacs when the temple is finished. The room is open to the Dungeon sky with tall pillars of bright white stone extending high into the air on both sides of the approach to the statue of Zephyr. Channels cut into the top positions of the pillars catch the wind to produce haunting whistling tunes. Pennants brightly colored drapes of cloth catch in the constant breeze and turn the Shrine into a riotous mass of shifting brightly colored shadows. With a rushing noise a living whirlwind swirls into existence and takes its place as Shrine guardian.

>Large Air Elemental gained

Even as you admire your handiwork a profound change takes place in the Baths. You feel them grow half again as large as they were while elaborate slime motif frescoes adorn the walls, many of them featuring you. You feel private rooms for yourself and your other two heroes grow into existence and all of your Slimes grow a bit more powerful.

>Stronghold Level 2
>Base monster level increased to 2

Hah! And your not even done yet!

Descending into your Horde, which is now it's own room with a door and everything! You gather up 6 Xp tokens and eat them.

>Kulnarth is now Lvl 3

(I have reworked Xp costs for leveling. Levels 1&2 cost 3 Xp each, 3&4 cost 6Xp each and so on till it caps at 30 Xp for levels 19, 20, and everything afterwards. You are not being charged for levelin Kulnarth to reflect this change. You have 30 Xp left.)

Gabbing six of the Xp tokens you carry them to Ash with their warm glow shining through your hand.

Here, eat these.

"Oh, um if your sure. I- I probably could have done better if I had been higher Level I suppose"

Ash takes the Xp tokens. They flash in her hand and vanish.

>Ash is now Lvl 3 (water Mage)

"Thank you Kulnarth."

Your welcome Ash!

"Kulnarth?"

Hmm?

"I don't think your a monster."

Oh, okay. But you are after all a Boss monster. Maybe making yourself a hero changed that? Nah, your probably just both. You are awesome like that. She should go train up Water Magic with the new Slimes.

"I- yes Kulnarth I'll go do that."

> Kulnarth and Ash healed by leveling

>Ash learns Water 3
>Slimes learn Water 3
>Ash learns Tidal Wave 2

Turning to the last project on your plate you pull the Demon Core from the Spawning Pool. this thing needs Souls to form, but how many?

Too many and you won't have a Stronghold high enough to control it, like the Inferno Slime. Too few and it will be weak.

>How many Souls will you feed the Core?
>>
>>1432679

>Would you like anything from Alchemist
Maybe a couple potions, but I'm more interested in if you could help experiment with the slimes for new combinations and potions. You will be free to take whatever samples and ingredients from the slimes as long as you don't kill them.
Is their anything I can do to help you?

Slimes can use Disguise to mimic a Job using its starting equipment.

Sorry guys work things came up unexpectedly.

We resume Monday
>>
The time has come. We must search for Lightning items to create THUNDERSLIMES!

Bane of sword users and pot smashers! Also because when we have fire and water slimes, we need to cover other elemental bases like lightning, ice, dark and light.
>>
>>1433460
But we don't have fire slimes
>>
>>1435297
We have an inferno slime core, we just need to get to Stronghold level 3 to be able to use it. Speaking of which, what are the requirements for level 3?

I agree though. Time for lightning slimes.

We might also consider talking to this Filtheater, while we're still on good terms with the Skaven. I wouldn't be opposed to some fucknasty slimes, Dark Souls style. Just filth and goop made manifest.
>>
>>1435853
We should have the Inferno slime power the Forge. Also, we NEED superslime minions, yes.
Like DarkSouls slimes meets FF-series Flans.

Then let's have lightning slimes put on patrols in high locations. Easy Electro-sniping, and they can stick onto the sides of surfaces!
>>
So like, we try to obtain lightning wands or something? I don't imagine there's a potion that would do it.
>>
>>1436231
Just a future goal is all, tazer slimes are just a fun concept.
The fucknasty slimes we could do sooner than later though.
>>
>>1436302
It's about time we put Disguise to good use and use it to gank Adventurers and the like.

Be like the Mimics in Prey and give those horrible humans a good spook.
>>
Is this any good?
>>
>>1436804
It's a small but enjoyable thing, which isn't the other three dozen anime-theme quests and explores growth based on popularity.

Plus the other quests don't have slime shenanigans
>>
Hey guys finishing up the next post in a bit. Wanted to start earlier, but work and procrastination are perched on my shoulders like ravens.
