Welcome to Starborn, but not as you know it. In this thread we'll be playing as a new character in a location unfamiliar to Purps or most of the world at large.Gorlan Vineyard. Producers of the finest red wine in all of the continent, the public at large is clueless as to where the famous vineyard depicted on the label is. The golden skies, lush orange hulberries and dirt so soft you could sleep on it is a mystery sought by many an explorer. But you know where it is. Because you live there; one of many thousands born into the vineyard's workforce and raised to serve. Your masters; the furred kobolds have traded their "golden sky" and wine to the surfacers for almost two centuries. In exchange, they get undesirables and the freedom to continue existing... Life here is hard, but soon. Soon you'll make something of it.You are:> Human> Animal Person> Islander> Lizardfolk> Orc Tw: @StarbornQDiscord Invite: https://discord.gg/USPFgKa Discord Commands: ?rank [StarbornQuest][CabinQuest][WCNQuest]Lewd Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/u/StarbornOPStarborn Thread 0: https://yuki.la/qst/486356Starborn Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Starborn

Giving it until top of the hour because it's first post and I didn't tweet or anything leading up to it. Plus gotta grab faceclaims for whatever race wins etc.3 way tie as it stands. How you doing today anons?
>>1455514>>1455501>>1455493>>1455492>>1455489You are an Orc of the Hulmark tribe. Although nobody in three generations has been given their blood by a shaman; some customs have been kept alive in secret around shared fires and shaded areas. The Kobolds mostly use your kind to protect them, in exchange for better treatment. However, your distinct cultural identity means that whenever and Orc steps out of line, they are dealt with harshly. Wheras a Lizardfolk stealing might be given lashes, an Orc who steals will be impaled by their own kin. It is a grim fate, an a slow death.Being the masters' most trusted means certain comforts, but also a bigger fall should you stray. They fear the orcs most of all.Opening your eyes and trying to shake off the odd dreams of swimming in oceans with creatures brighter than a gleaming sword - you shake your braided hair free of dirt and head off to work.> Guard +2 on Combat rolls & Gain a weapon> Hauler +3 on Strength rolls and 1 stolen item> Consort +2 on Charisma rolls and a Kobold dotes upon you> Taskmaster Gain Basic Fire Magic but are hated by all> Write-In

>>1455563>>1455562>>1455560As you and your Clanmates all stagger to your feet under the reflected light off the gold sky, ther'es a few hangovers to be found in amongst them. Due to the birth of another Orc into the "Mighty" Hulmark clan, you were permitted moonshine from Young Master Jklar's stash, unfortunately your kin indulged heavily. Now as Gluk stands before you all he has the justificaiton he needs to sneer as he shouts at the top of his scalie lungs the posting."Halvik!" He clickss the k in your name like some kind of insect. Fitting. You'd remark upon it were it not for the whip of pure fire clutched his right claw."Here." You state plainly, pushing aside old Faruk to tower over the Taskmaster himself."Equipment shed!" He spits clearly unhappy he'll have to look at you.You nod slightly and head inside your lean-to to pick up your prized posession. Gliz and Fal kept making fun of you for practically spooning it, but who could blame a hotblooded orc for getting handsy with this thing? Perfectly weighted, made of a black steel that seems to drink in the light like a thirsty youngling menacing with spikes of bone. Your beau.Planting it on your shoulders and ducking out of your pitiful dwelling, you begin trudging through the slave camps with a grim face and steely gaze that parts the humans, lizards and animals from your path. Not that you coldn't bodily remove them of course.Next comes the vineyards themselves, thankfully you don't have much walking to do as a guard - your allotment is extremely close to the equipment shed. Unfortunately for some slaves, they'll collapse somewhere in the thick jungle that spans an eight hour walk from core to outskirts and simply fertilize the next batch. You wont though. You'll do better. You'll-"OY GREENY!" Someone drunkenly slurs. You'll kill this guy. Whoever he is."YOU TUSKY -" He pauses, staring up at your unimpressed face.> Male> Female

You simply raise an eyebrow at him as he pulls what looks like a sharp piece of glass."Are you really trying to shank me with a piece of glass?" You ask incredulous, tilting your body so the hammer end of your maul slams into the dirt. You clutch it lazily as you stare down at the man."SHUT UP AND DIE!" He lunges at you, but you put a hand on his forehead and shove him back. >>1455892>>1455881>>1455879It's a good thing you're the orc he decided to pick a fight with, because anyone else would kill this fucker. He lunges in and you simply take the glass shiv on your sides without so much as blinking; gripping a shoulder in each of your huge hands you lift him into the air."Apologize." You growl, moving your scarred face so close two little lines of blood run down his cheeks from where your tusks are stabbing him.You begin to smell urine as he stutters, "S-s-soooryyy.""Good." You employ the ancient orcish non lethal takedown from the original Hulmark martial art of Brawling. You arm your head into his. Sending him flying nine feet from you in a broken heap on the ground, a small crowd looks at him with disgust as you simply go on your way.The equipment shack looms in the distance and you can see a small line already forming. Distribution is not for another 45 minutes, yet some earlybird slaves have worked out that the best tools get given to the first to arrive. Now it's a case of posting by the door and waiting for Gluk with his keys and looking initmidating.> Today's going to fly in [3 encounters]> Another day just like any other [5 encounters]> Today's going to drag in [6 encounters]

>>1455934>>1455927>>1455925Finally Gluk and his flaming whip comes and unlocks the shed, almost eight minutes late. Thankfully for you, the slaves at the front are familiar enough with you not to cause you to pick up the Maul embedded in the dirt in front of you. The closest to trouble was one slave vocally bitching about what would happen if they were eight minutes late. This is silenced by a stony look. The same Stony look you have given each slave you've patted down when leaving the shed. They hand you sheets with what they are permitted to take, but like most of the orcs - you can't read.Your first odd moment is three hours into the day, a lizardman with green scales and red eyes enters the shed fully nude. He comes out wearing protective equipment, with a hoe and sickle attached to the back of his suit. He hands you the paper that tells you what he's allowed. Patting him down you also find he has taken a carving knife and a rune you can't identify.> Yeah no, you die.> I need to check this with Gluk.> Intimidate> You're coming to see the masters.

>>1456966>>1456048>>1456033You grab the lizardman by his throat and pull him in close, "We're checking in with Gluk." you say, slamming the doors to the equipment shed closed. The tow of you lock eyes and his scales click together as his eyes widen at the knowledge he's been caught. Like a vinerat surrounded by starving slaves he looks puzzled and terrified. "I had to kill a slave for a suspicious order. Nobody on shed duty reads." You say offering the paper to him.He scoffs looking at it, "This is clearly forged you big oaf I hope you-" You tilt your head at the corpse you left in the dirt. "Excellent work Halvik." He says. "I will accompany you back to the shed.""Good." You respond dully striding away. You notice sparks flicker in his hand as he briefly considers turning his whip on you. A look tells him that would be most unwise."What will it take to keep quiet about this... dalliance?" He asks after twenty minutes walk.> A favour. You warn, the timing coincidental as you fix a pointed look at the pits in which bodies are being flung for burning.Upon your return you notice the slaves have gotten a tad boisterous about falling behind on their numbers due to this delay. Gluk manifests his whip and lashes a few of the ringleaders, but for it to truly die you have to roar at the top of your lungs. The cowards fall in line as always. Your boredom is lifted by the sight of a bunch of slaves dragging a sturglging form behind them, you don't quite make out what they're dragging - but it's kicking, screaming and fighting all the way.Honestly from this distance it's more of a dustcloud with almost a dozen shapes in it.> Go check it out> Not your business> Shout at them to come here 1d20> Write-In
