This is turn 37. Can we have smelting plz?
>>
>>1470735
research: try to work out how to make a smelter to make metal to be made into weapons, basing it off the already existing heated bath technology
Actions: send scouts to find new stuff
>>
>>1470849
>>1470740

scout in the lakes specifically
>>
>>1470835
Yes, and bunnies have it too currently.
>>
>>1470740
Assuming no bunny controllers show up:

Action: Widen the tunnels connecting the burrows and add pillars into the middle at regular intervals to help support the roof and display art / directions.

Research: Develop artistry / painting by using different materials for different colours: such as copper ore for green, charcoal for black or silver for white-ish light grey.
>>
I'm just glad nobody knows my secret blend of herbs and spices. Once they know the taste of it in meat, there's no stopping them...

Thankfully we chickens are immune to it, right Joe?
>He's just banging his head violently in the cage
That means yes guys!
>>
>>1470872
then we shall learn to smelt better! and if we can not learn to smelt better we shall learn to think better! and then if we can not think better we shall learn fight better, and then if that fails we shall go out knowing that at the very least we did best at putting in our all!

inspirational speeches aside we certainly should learn to smelt. if we don't learn now then it'll likely be hard to later as every one who did will be violently raping our poor femboy asses
>>
Do we have chimneys yet? I'd like to research how to make one unless we already know how and build it. If we just have to build it, can I also research better roofs to keep the cold and other forms of precipitation out?
>>
>>1470740
Action: With the secrets of metallurgy the Bunnys add forges to their dedicated fire rooms. Hopefully we can start phasing out our stone tools with copper

Research: To ensure the latest line in Bunny equipment is of the highest quality the Bunnys learn to make molds to ensure anything made is high quality.
>>
>>1470913
sorry to be a bit of a wet towel here, but doesn't the mold thing seem more like a research then an action?

>>
>>1470886
Noooo well yes

We can learn to caste molds as a research, but i want to go dragonfly riding soon as well.
>>1470930
Yes. That is research. It was a forced research turn by OP to combine twine and nets. It should be rocket science to form molds.

I suggest making molds as a science and then create advanced spears as an action with those new molds.
>>
>>1470740
Research: Create caste molds to form the melted stone.

Action: Create advanced spears from molds.
>>
>>1470890
our Alpha Hen has a chimney on her hut, so we can add them to other coops at will. we already researched it!

I recommend mining again for something sturdy and useful like copper, iron or tin. But I'll leave an action up to other folks

Unfortunately, they will have to find and wake their smallest frog to ride the dragonfly at the moment the young fly can support his week, which Chief Froggo expects to be three days. >>1473000
>>1473002
Let's be honest, everybody's behaviour will be influenced by the others, even if it isn't "canonicaly", people just need to think of a plausible excuse, like halberd training can basically come from sports involving fishing javelins, as for the boats, times without wind for , not wanting to row, or simply a curiosity innovation would suffice imo

Ye I realise this might be detrimental to bunnies in the future, but it might be more fun and I doubt this guy's smart enough to pose a threat to the glorious bunny nation using "fast boats" and spears, since we're underground, have fortifications, fire and arrows ( fire at sea has historically been a death sentence in naval combat)

That was a moral thing since we were in a famine and the people needed to not riot, plus developing paints let's us also use it as Inc to draw maps, make flags etc

>>
Question: If our civs are advanced enough can we use actions to build lesser tech? Like we are at a age that has smelting, sailing and soon flight. Do we really have to study or research stuff like barrels to carry water when we already understand buckets? Do we need to research plates if we have bowls?

>>1473291
You dont "have" to research anything. You dont need to research iron header spears if you already have wooden spears. But iron spears will improve effectiveness of certain tasks.

Same way you have a way to carry water though buckets, so you dont "have" to research barrels. But researching barrels can improve efficiency in tasks. Hope this answers your question.

So we cannot "make" barrels unless we "research" them First?

Winter is finally over. Many things happen at once.

Frogs thaw out of hibernation. They learn of their new elected chief and the many winter adventures they have had, from scoutings in the lake to find the river source, to finding dragonfly eggs and turquoise.

Bunnies break free and return to their burrows. The completion of the bridge gives them access to beyond the river, and they are eager to till the land and explore easily.

Chickens also return colonists to their colonies to work. Their experience in restructuring their homes changes the standards of what one chicken wants from his or her nest.

All tribes celebrate getting through winter with a feast to go through their stockpile. All pop growth pre winter is back, with bonuses for some discoveries.

RIGHT TIME TO MOVE OUT BUNNIES

Action: After a long winter in the burrows, stories of brave adventures and recent talks of exploration many bunnies are eager to stretch their legs. walk up and down and play along the river to the other settlements. A particularly large group of curious bunnies head in the other river direction to see what lies beyond

Research: Uses of the new spring vegetation (rope from grasses & weeds, new pigments from flowers, new edible foods etc)

>>

>>

Also in regards to "rails", you could just carve stone tracks rather than making actual material ones. Then you only need to make rails for bits where multiple tracks connect / can be changed.

Yes it can be assumed we'll do that to save on material.
>>

>>

To worship The Holy Loaf, who gives us grain and seed. The loaf who died for us ducks so that we may not die from hunger. He sacrificed himself for our tribe when we were on the brink of starvation and three days later he rose from the pond and forgave us for our sins

Duck tribe has travelled from an island in the northeast, where they have a winter home. They have two chiefs, one for each home. They have spent the past few turns in the winter home and now flock here during the north's fall, which is this island's spring. Being nomadic twice a year, they carry all their belongings and food in cotton bags tied to bamboo, and set up temporary tents so that they dont leave traces of their home when they leave one for half the year.

That makes much more sense now, I guess that's one of the main reasons why we have the discord

why don't you look into: blowpipes, Cooking to reduce food waste (can make broth & stocks from leftovers), clothes, making out of bamboo or from breaking it down first(Carts, boats, bridges, more sturdy houses, fetilizer, religious incense sticks, bamboo shoots for food, ladders, kites, useing in water to make fibers for weaving into baskets & containers, breaking down it to a pulp as medicine for its antioxcident & antibacterial properties, decorations, keeping waste), You can look into sports, religious traditions festivals & traditions etc etc

Plenty of things to research & do, especially with bamboo, it's a very versatile commodity, bunnies might be willing to trade for it imo if we come across eachother

Frogs make cool hats with branchy frame and leaf covers. They look like old oriental farmers. With the dragonfly cluster hatching, they now have 35 dragonflies.

One scout is sent to follow the river and see where the catamaran crashed. They determine that the site of the crash is next to a flowing river and salty ocean shore which drops into the ocean at a height of twelve feet into water which shallow part is seven feet deep but crashes a little violently against the cliffside. The grass is plenty green and the ocean breeze is plenty wet for frog sensibilities. They also are surrounded by dead logs sometimes crawling in termites.

I'd argue against your decision.

We should just continue with our current method of creating colonies in order to explore.

Also, did you see the updated tribe description? No more mention of people randomly wandering off and dying! That is excellent progress for our civilisation.
>>
>>1477648
Our latest addition to the bunny council makes it so we make colonys automatically whenever the capital starts getting filled. Doing that would serve no purpose as he just recently made another if you look at the sheet.
>>
>>1477607

Action: Search for mushrooms to cultivate on our lumber
Research : Using ash as fertilizer
>>
>>1477652
If this is true then I suppose you have a point, that much I can concede.

However I would argue that there are better uses of our time, considering we could instead spend our turn attempting to discover new ores, advance ourselves militarily or something.

One idea would be to invent the gear and combine it with our knowledge of the pulley to start creating simple machines to help us lift heavy weights and such. Augmenting our ability to build in stone at speed and to mine.

Another would be to develop a system of measurement, like metric or imperial and then to produce devices to allow it's use in manufacturing. Increasing the accuracy of measurements and making the tracks in the trade tunnels far more standard, allowing for easier production of carts and potentially even better speeds.

We also need to start considering a code of laws seeing as we are approaching the point we can't rely on tribal methodologies. Best we get started now rather than when we are suffering from it.

One more thing would be the possibility of getting more advanced mathematics and thus creating better architecture assuming we also have a system of measurements. As we could then know precisely if something is a right angle and so on, making complex stone structures like arches easier.
>>
>>1477562
wait i got an idea for research , make a kind of ball object and start making a ball game like american football so frogs can train and enjoy
>>
Also something raised awhile back by someone else when I mentioned that developing music would influence our architecture.

I was referring to music inherently leading to an understanding of acoustics in practical senses and thus an understanding of how to make buildings reflect voices and music better for obvious reasons.
>>
>>1477667
Most of what you described are research actions and were already useing ours this turn. Not to mention that the only metals we seem to be able to dig here in the area are for some reason just copper and silver along with that high roll mystery mineral that isn't worth trying to find unless we get really lucky.
>>
>>1477681
I'd argue that the code of laws thing is more so a matter of just getting the council to write down whatever system we are currently operating under however for the rest I suppose you are right.

Anyhow I have a bunch of turn actions that aren't research like creating an actual hospital in the capital or a council hall to hold meetings / court.

Or we could see about creating an actual slipway and dock for making ships / boats.

Heck we could see about creating an entire section of the burrows for industrial purposes: tall, wide tunnels with smooth floors except for their cart tracks; surface access elevators (pulleys and platforms) for taking in and out materials like wood and metal.

Another idea would be an expansion of the farms, burrows and stables to support a larger population and amount of live stock.

We also need to get into contact with the other tribes, if nothing else so we can actually have a reason to develop weapons and shit. Plus the chickens have Iron which we could easily make use of.
>>
>>1477703

2 it is. How many frogs will you use to operate the dragonflies?

How it works for chickens: Frogs need different things to survive. So the dragonfly express post would be built in your village using your local resources. The frog and dragonfly would stay at that post. Frog brings supplies for so many days and might only ask for water. After a few days another frog and dragonfly will zip in and the former pair would leave and see their family.

Why laws, what benefits

The research is grand though, that plus maths should mean multiple turn projects should be faster

Did we ever finish developing metal tools? We could research that or glass this turn, other tribes are making trade deals
>>
>>1478969
Our tools are already made of metal and we have the basics of glass researched but we need to go further to make it useable. I kind of wanted laws as so we wont need to spend any actions in the future should OP ever hit us with crime.
>>
>>1479004
Do you wanna specify your code of laws? Like some sort of bunny ten commandments?
>>
>>1479004
Crime isn't a problem until you have laws to break!
>>
>>1478969
A code of laws creates a system of control and raises literacy. As there will be need for people to interpret these laws. Not to mention that it will result in a more productive society when all matters of both criminal and civil processing are entirely standardised. Cases being processed far more quickly.

>>1479022
That is a very false logic. All societies have ethics and these determine "crimes".

All we are doing is writing down what people can't do and what to do when they do.
>>
Also, another thing we bunnies need to develop some day is the crossbow. So then we can make the semi-automatic crossbow like the Chinese had and effectively become the masters of ranged combat.
>>

>>
>>1479781
Yep. Next thing you know we will be crashing your dragonfly aircraft with no survivors.

Speaking of which, we will need to make AA balistas everywhere to protect from potential duck or dragonfly based attacks.
>>
>>1479775

Metagaming much? You dont know about ducks or dragonflies or chickens or frogs. You are building antiair stuff for no reason other than metagaming
>>

I guess you're right... There was a guy who joined last second though. I guess we'll wait for OPs return...
>>
>>1479909
We don't know yet. That is the important word.

We can develop these sorts of devices for purely civil purposes (Crossbows are easier to use in tunnels than a bow, makes their use easier in burrows. Balista's are essentially an up-scaled crossbow and a AA version is just one mounted on a different frame) and then redesign them for war.

Ducks create armor from chopped bamboo, similar in appearance to the wooden armor of the chickens but less clunky. They also build a temple by combining two tents and a bamboo structure to become a place of worship for their duck god. The Duck Doctrine includes a list of principles believed to be handed from a holy duck during the first migration that outlines the ethical and spiritual duties of ducks, including: to give unto others fish as the fish gives you, to spend an afternoon before a migration for a full day on a lake surface in solitude, and to quack blessings upon new bamboo structures.

Rolled 55, 54, 11 = 120 (3d100)

On day 50, well into Spring, all clans notice similarities in incidents all over the plains and fertile forests; villagers returning to camp with giant stingmarks though their chest, head, and limbs. Pollen season has arrived -- the giant bees have come to swarm the island. They usually like to keep to themselves, but theres no doubt that mass colonization of territory by some tribes had displaced beehomes all over the island. All tribes with colonies now face the bee menace every turn via rolling a 1d100

>1-25: Nothing
>26-75: 5 x colony growth rate deaths
>76-100: 10 x colony growth rate deaths

You can try using preventative measures to reduce chances of bee related deaths, but the only way to completely eradicate them is to take out the hives closest to your settlement with army. Next post I will describe combat mechanics.

1.Frog
2.Chicken
3.Bunny
>>
On every turn sheet is a population number on the capital. A tribe can equip any number of those tribespeople with weapons and armor. If armor is not specified, I will specify it on an upcoming post. Tribes can attempt to look for the bees using scouting rolls (all bonuses apply when appropriate) and with the army units battle the bees. Every bee is the size of a golden retriever and can fly at high as fifteen feet in the air. They are all mindless drones and will only be gone when their queen dies or home is destroyed. When engaging in battle, I (or if they prefer, a player) will roll a 1d100 to battle the insects. This happens when a scouting army meets a bee party after using an action roll.

1. Frog colony deaths for turn 50 = 5x2 = 10 colony deaths
2. Chicken colony deaths for turn 50 = 5x3 = 15 colony deaths

Research: Bee biology. After the initial strikes, the excellent bowmanship skills of every bunny honed over the years managed to neutralise the threat without any casualties, they decide to learn about the first hostile ever encountered by directing the dead and observing a captured specimen.

Action: the bunny council gathers the most experienced scouts and mathematicians. After looking at the rate and density of attacks on each colony and the inbound directions, they pinpoint the most statistically likely areas for bee hives to be, allowing more targeted scouting.
Send scouts across the fields north and south ( do we get bonuses from our scouting education?)

General: Frogs accept gifts and are overjoyed. Some are snacked upon, but they hold onto a few for now.

They welcome the chickens with open arms and assist with building homes. Trade and science is bound to excel

Rolled 80, 14, 25 = 119 (3d100)

Bunny trade tunnels with wood carts and geared power are complete between the capital and all colonies on the capital side of the river. Rejoice!

The bunny leadership decide the first step in defeating the foe is to study it. Unfortunately, they have not captured a bee alive or dead and won't until they scout out into the field, which they will now.

The head scout bunny works with some scouts and vets to understand where the bee threat is coming from. Before scouting, they have identified that they come either from north or south of the river. They send scouts north and south in hopes to isolate the location of the bees. Colonies bonus = +7, Plains survival = +5.

Bunny rolls 40+7+5=52. After scouting a long day, the bunnies are able to discern bee source locations to three potential focal points, two north and one south. Further scouting will narrow down the true location of the hive(s)

My bunny brothers, I question why we are worried about the potential danger these flying insects represent to us. It is a minuscule problem! They can't easily get into our tunnels and burrows, so only those who venture to the surface are at risk.

I thus suggest the following initiatives:

Action: The council shall form a "surface guard" to patrol around any burrows, eliminating any bees they encounter and enforcing their laws everywhere.

They shall be equipped with crossbows, that we might train them more quickly and easily while maintaining the ability to pierce the shells of the bees, and expected to defend the burrows and their families with their lives.

Research: Some sort of clothing to act as a barrier for our new surface guards to stop the bee stings piercing into them. Made of copper plates attached between two wool layers perhaps?
>>
Action: Frogs are getting slaughtered! They need to be safe! Frogs start guard shifts in each territory and send an extra 5 to Tradetown, which is Frog territory.

Research: They begin looking into underwater construction to keep their goods safe and as well as help mining efforts. They attempt at building a underwater warehouse to store their stones.

Trade: Frogs want to trade education methods in exchange for mathmatics with chickens

Chickens extend records of their Imperial Chicken metric (ICM) system to the frogs in exchange for their generous offer of standardizing education.

So, I am just wondering OP. Are we going strictly real world with this or could we bunnies make mechanical automatons?
>>
>>1486299
yeah, no automatons lol
>>
>>1486299
Liberties can be taken. Frogs live on lilypads with huts on top afterall

Bit you need to be sensible

Damn...but we can still do things like the computation machine MK 1 or 2 from the early / mid 1800's?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlfChYGv3Z4&list=PLmYEo0MmhoXpuguTED26ez3crJLsr61xn&index=143

Cause I want the bunnies to be a technological / scientific paradise. Seeing as we are the closest to achieving mechanical labour and I'd love for them to have such perfect lives.

>>1486322
True but I primarily want to take advantage of it to make science, engineering and so on more accurate and efficient.
>>
>>1486354
Perhaps, but any kind of clockwork shit you make you have to explain to me how it works and can be built because I am dum dum
>>
>>1486386
I can explain a fair few things. That machine I described is a little beyond me but I can do it in time and with a few posts.

I hope you understand how powerful such a machine would be though. How greatly it would shift the balance of power.

Is anyone going to give the ducks a turn so we can progress? Are any of their controllers on today?

surface guard is a great idea, but right now it's probably better to capture a bee or 2 so we can study & improve the guards (armor, extract stingers & venom, maybe even start breeding them as mounts like the frogs dragonflys)

Action: Further scouting, The scouts decide to split into 3 large teams, 1 for each focal point. They each set up temporary camps as rendezvous points as they explore. They all split up to cover more ground, & are instructed to avoid engaging the bees if possible & to report back to camp if they find anything. Once the bees or their hives are located, the group of scouts will proceed to attempt to capture as a full group.

Research: Finish glass research (spyglasses, greenhouses, sharp daggers & arrow heads etc)

After one of the ducks heads to the chicken capital they see a frog. Though it takes a while to understand each other they figure out to make a trade deal
Ducks give bamboo for some hats and halberds (one time deal)
Ducks give bamboo for clay bricks (continues)

Thanks for your approval.

Two problems with that:

1) I need the action so we can actually have an armed force to defend against / attack the bee incursions.

2) I also would point out that these giant bees are too small and that we lack the ability to produce a anti-venom. So getting their venom would only help against other species. Seeing as we are herbivores and not in conflict with ourselves or another tribe, we have no use for it.

Thank you for the support. I promise that these surface guards are totally not the start of a revolution / coup...

Also finaly join the discord already so we can properly communicate

Nope.

It took about a year for me to make an account on Cytube and I was a lot more invested in my shit there than I am here. Plus it had actual benefits in the stream I enjoyed.

I would also point out, that places like Discord won't get archived, so for posterity I like to keep everything in thread. So that anyone looking back can understand what is going on more easily and can join in far more easily.

Also, because unless you guys support my plans I will simply fold to your own if I can't convince you of the superiority of mine or if I genuinely think yours is a better course of action.

Currently a majority support this one, just uhh ignore the crossbow bit for now since apparently people can't read and see their a work in progress at the moment.

We have bees threatening the colonies...
>>1486683
I approve, but you might wanna ask the guys in discord to be sure

Gosh darn bunnies reading muh secrets!
I sure hope we get ranged weapons soon. Once we have that and apply our camo to our troops, we can easily defend our territory from bees without risking troop casualties as often.

Can a fellow chicken explain how we have easy access to water again? Also, I feel like the trade town is a neutral territory between us chickens and frogs. If we desperately need someone to claim it, I guess the majority of the townsfolk could claim it...

If anyone disagrees, please speak up because I don't wanna screw up our actions again...
