You are Theo, a 21 year old kid from a pacific american coastal town, and for some reason despite the current year, you want to become a pirate.

Copypasting last actions and decisions:

You and your crew go to the docks to jack a boat. You fail to convince him he was on the wrong boat, and now are on the dock, facing the man's back while he asks your companions who you are.

>> Grab onto man from behind and call out to Jimmy to knock him out [Easy]

You decide its time for your crew to prove their worth. You jump on the fisherman while he faces away. He wears you like a backpack. Your weight forces his tall figure to hunch forward, so that his face is at level with Jimmy.
"Wh-what the fuck? Is this boy retarded or something? Feels like retard strength!"
You shout at Jimmy to take care of the man, and he understands at once what you mean. He takes a wide stance then drills a left hook into the man's right cheek. You topple down with the unconscious body.

"Juh-juh-jeeeeeesus kuh-rist! How did you do th-th-that?" Randy shuffles away a little further from Jimmy while still addressing him. Jimmy shrugs. "I was in a lot of fights with a lot meaner guys than this. I know how to put a man down." His tone was matter of fact, but you sense that Randy interpreted it in a completely different manner.

Shaun moves in to feel his pulse. He says something that you assume means he is still breathing. Its unclear how long he will be asleep, so you and a few other crewmember drag and dump him into another trawler, with nets as cover. Of course, you also ruffle through his pockets before you return to your newly confiscated ship

You dump out whatever old fish piles, clunky equipment, and extra nets there are over into the ocean. Randy manages to awkwardly fidget with the controls until he starts the boat and coasts it off shore. He reports the tank is completely full.

After a safe distance away and a beautiful view of the setting sun over water, you address your crew once more. You tell them of your passions in pirating, that you wish to emulate the cult of personality that had come to Sir Francis Drake, Captain Morgan, and Billy Kidd. Your crew seem riled with enthusiasm (even Shaun, who laughs end in hilarious sounding ‘r’s) and discuss their fantasies as well; Randy, who wants to circumnavigate the world, Jimmy, who wants to embark on a journey of self discovery, and Shaun, who as far as you can tell, wants to destroy large Japanese whaling ships.

The storage closet and bridge are both transformed into crew quarters. Nets from the deck are assembled to support you and your crew as makeshift hammocks, but when one breaks, Jimmy simply uses it as a cover. The cool sea breeze makes for a nice environment to sleep, so the crew doesn’t mind the inadequate cover.

You and Randy are left mulling over the map he has in his explorer’s book.
“Its good you chose this ship Theo, since we can approach other vessels we find and they’d think we were just another helpless trawler with low fuel, or a broken rudder. We could just meander up north or down south to one of the other profiles we noted on the forums. The guy up north is in Alaska, I think he said he’s a photographer or something? The other guy’s in Mexico, from what I read he said he’s a real good cook. Here, you can take a look at the profiles if you want.

Now I know it’ll be a long trek either way in this rusty tub, so I’d say we try looking when we’re better off supplies wise, or with a faster boat maybe. We can start by either raiding some shores, or boats. Boats would be active in the day, so we could wait it off it until morning and then make our luck out there. Its hard to be caught in the middle of the sea, so theres low risk, but then again theres no guarantee we’ll find a ship. If we look to raid a coast, we’d best go while its still dark. A bunch of the north towns ain’t got many eyes on them since no illegals come in that far up, but raiding north still carries a lot of risk. I know at least three ports most likely abandoned or completely empty if we go right now. We’ll be able to raid boats, cargo, hell even buildings are rotting in the rockier areas. So what do you wanna do boss?”

You decide to head towards the docks that Randy had mentioned. The navigator sets course northeast to the docks. He tells you that you can rummage through unsecured warehouses, negligently owned corner stores, and unsupervised beach houses. He estimates you will arrive at 0200 hours.

You decide to kill time first by looking at the Alaska profile.

> Wyatt Tuck– Wyatt is a homeschooled Alaskan who picked up photography early in life. His father and father’s father were both fishermen off the coast, so he was raised for an adoration of the sea. The beauty of his hometown inspired him to pick up photography. He has no feasible way to leave his town, and no reason to stay as all his family had departed or moved to Anchorage. He uses a telescope he was gifted last year to look out into the horizon instead of the stars, as the calming rhythms soothe him. He wants to join you to capture the beauty of the sea and update it all in his blog. He brings with him a small telescope, camera, a scrapbook, and a suitcase with clothes. He starts with the [Scouting] skill with his telescope, less useful today with radar, but you can think of a few more ways he would be useful, and the idea of a lookout in a absent crows nest pops into your mind. He also tells you he cannot swim, never learning to in Alaska.
>>
Wyatt seems like a nice kid, but you're skeptical if he would be worth going up to Alaska for. Then again, you don't have many willing crew so maybe you'll come around to the idea later.

For the remaining hours, you decide to read through the Chines to American Dictionary. You write on the back of Shaun's profile commonly used words, trying your best to pronounce them properly. Shaun wakes up and hears you and laughs at your attempts. By the time you pull up to dock, you learn where Shaun is from, what his mother and father's name is, and what his favorite animal is, though you don't know if he meant favorite as a pet or as a food.

The hull makes an ugly noise against some rocks on the shore. You hop out, pulling the rope with some assistance from Jimmy, and find some wrecked wooden boats to tie the lead around and keep the ship in place. You order the crew to stay where they are, with Jimmy staying by the lead. He happily complies and takes out his guitar, tuning and plucking at the strings. You worry about the noise, but its inaudible among the beach sounds when you trudge uphill.
>>

"Hey Theo!"
You look back, giving the evil eye in for of hand gestures. He ignores your cautious swaying.
"You're not going out in THAT are you?"
You look down. Why, you're still in your pirate costume from the prop department closet. You walk back to the ship, and see Randy hand you the Northface jacket and beanie you looted hours earlier. You trade the tricorne hat and longcoat for the fisherman's uniform.

With your new costume, you attempt to access another character and lumber around to loot for surroundings. You decide to loot in the docks. There are many boats docked around, ranging from fishing boats to tugs and a few speeders. You are disappointed to find a majority of the doors locked, and without any tools or training, you are unable to pick them. Fortunately, there are enough unlocked and negligent boats that you can find some valuable loot.

You pick up from one boat a toolbox with duct tape, super glue, and rubber piping. These items you dump into your loot bag.

Flashing your light through another fishing boat, you see a folded chair dressed in someone's leftover jacket. Inside you find some cash stuffed down. One speeder had a locked box built in, but you are able to pry it open with your knife after many tugs. The contents included a map of a town further north of where you are, a pair of walkie talkies, and a radar gun. You grow a little skeptical at the intentions of the seacraft's owner, but thank him for leaving it to you to find.

> New Inventory: +$25, duct tape, super glue, map, 2 walkie talkies, radar gun

Just as you rummage through cargo of a small speedboat, you see a flash reflecting off the sea. A docksman. Looking up, the pool of light from his electric torch creeps up on the wood, peering into the shadows of all the open vessels and inside the cockpits of each trawler. Your find in the cargo after breaking it reveals a set of keys for the speedboat. You plan your next move.

"Oh hey mister, how are you?"
You come out onto the dock. The docksman looks at you confusedly. "Who are you son? What are you doing at this time of night?"

"Cmon, you've seen me around! I'm the new guy!"

His face takes a couple seconds to loosen up. It seems he fell for the old new-guy trick. "George's new kid right? Its 2 in the morning! What are you doing on the speedboats, you looking for something?"

You nod and pat your bag. "Got what I'm looking for, thanks Mister!"

I think we mostly just want to take a peak in the lost and found and pick something that's there, but let's say we lost a jacket and last remember wearing it out on the boat, but the laptop is probably next to useless unless we're going pirating in a different way.

You find yourself now in the lost and found room. You see many coats, a drawer with keys and phones, and a lot of weirder stuff like a bicycle, a blowup doll, and several mattresses.

You are led into a section where a bunch of larger electronics are. Laptops of all types are there, some broken, thoroughly soaked, and others pretty pristine. You wander your eyes towards the latter category.

“Like what you see, eh?” the docksman chortles. “Damn amateurs. Think they can use their new iMacs and computers as cheap radars, then cry when the waves bump and gadgets fly.” He makes over exaggerated waves with his hands. “Then us fisherman reel in a haul and whadyaknow? It’s a full sale at Best buy out there! These over here though are dumb as hell” he gestures towards the dry, pretty computers. “I really hope this ain’t yours; who the hell leaves a piece of work like that on the deck? In the privy for that matter? What would you even need to do on a toilet with a laptop.”

You tell him you had a good idea what a lonely man at sea might look on a laptop in the privacy of a privy, and he chuckles.

“So it is you, huh you dog?” you don’t let your hesitation betray you and nod, reaching for the laptop. From the Shipman’s body language, he accepts your ownership.

You sign your name on the check out sheet, hoping he won’t see it, to which he signs and stuffs it in his pocket. “You take care now, you hear? Say hi to George for me, and I hope your wet socks are from working the boats out there!” he chortles heartily once more, and you nod, making your way over to the ship again.

You are about to head out again when you hear a shout from the ship.

"Thu-thu-theo, where are you going? Its almost fuh-fuh-five in the morning!"

You reassure your navigator that you won't take as long rummaging through the warehouse as with the docks, but he seems to still be skeptical. Finally, you compromise that after the warehouse you're done. He finally relents and said he'll stay awake for you, noting that your other crewmembers are asleep in the storage room.

The warehouse door is still negligently open, but you fear that if you dwell too long, the workers will come at the start of their work day. Sliding through, you see an empty shipping area save one truck. There's also a cage door locked with a chain. You struggle with the door, but to no avail. You try using your boxcutter and knife on the lock, but you have no idea what you're doing. Cursing, you move onwards.

The truck door is unlocked. Inside are tons of boxes. You use your knife and flashlight to rummage through the boxes, finding small toys, coffee machines, microwaves, and picture frames. You open up some of the machines to see if they are battery operated, and loot the few ones that are until you have enough.

Moving onwards, you look into the drivers seat. You find it funny that you have better luck in the drivers seat than the cargo he carries. A walkie talkie sits there for the taking, along with a compartment filled with a pair of gloves, gum, spare change, zip ties, a bunch of lewd magazines, and the find of the day, a GPS system. You turn it on to find it near full charge, but it doesn't take AA. Behind the truck seat, you find a sleeping bag and two parkas. Bulky, but you manage to fit it all in the duffel bag.

> New Inventory: +$4.75, laptop, 12 AA batteries, a walkie talkie, gloves, zip ties, porno magazines, GPS system, a sleeping bag, 2 parkas

Just as you rustle out, you turn and get hit in the face by a hammed fisted truck driver. It seems that truck drivers start their day earlier than you think. While on the ground, you sneakily pocket around for your survival knife. Looking up you...

> Using an adrenaline point during combat will add a +1 boost to your combat skill; you may stack them up if you wish. Adrenaline replenishes daily.

You are lucky to find no juggernaut charging behind you. Just as you get to the rocky beach where your ship is docked, you see a pickup truck rolling high speed towards you in a rampage. You rush towards the ship, tripping and scraping your knees across the rocks, and jump in the ship before the driver gets out with a handgun. You shout at Randy, who sleepily looks up and fiddles with the controls to go out to sea. You mockingly wave goodbye at the man as he stands at the shore, growing farther away and throwing his hat down in anger.
>>
After a healing and relaxing nap, you wake up at 0900 hours to the sight of bloodied and dirtied pants. You limp down, finding a makeshift breakfast of granola bars and beer on deck. It seems while Randy is sleeping, your other two crewmembers were making use of your food and card games. You gesture towards Shaun to help you with your knee. He opens up a first aid kit, dabbing alcohol soaked cotton on your knee and bandages it. You notice there are still three bandages left in the kit.

You ask Jimmy to get up and practice knife combat. "You sure dude?" he asks, "I'm all for self defense man, but you don't seem like the beat-em-up type, you know?"

You tell him you don't care and that combat is inevitable and essential for a man of your character! He shrugs, but takes up a combat knife and strikes a pose. "Damn, next time you go late night lootin', mind if I get some rest? Whats the time? Noon! This is the perfect time to go raidin' a ship! I'm gonna set course right now! Where to Captain?"

All that you know of your location is that you are further north from the dockyard, and due west of the docks and warehouse you just looted. Logically, merchant ships would be bustling around both of these areas. You also remember the Alaskan and Mexican profile, and wonder if you should take a strategy to raid your way north or south.

"Aye aye, Cap'n!" Randy does a salute, and jumps behind the bridge. You look ahead, seeing Shaun playing solitaire to Jimmy's tunes. What a crew.

In the meantime, you decide to investigate the GPS. Turning it on, you are surpised to see yourself as a dot out at sea. Its a shame that you don't have the right batteries or a charger, but for the time being, you know exactly where you are. Navigating the map downwards, you see you are heading towards the dock you had jacked the trawler from.

You look at the profiles again. You reread the Alaskan profile and read the new Mexican profile.

"Avast! Another Trawler up the bowside!" you snarl at your crew. You imagine their response to be more vicious than the passive acknowledgement they gave you.

You haven't entirely understood the details of how to board the ship, but somehow Randy tells you he can signal the ship that they need help. He pulls out a signal flag, attaching it to the starboard side; a red cross, like the old English flag. Victor.

It takes a while for the trawler to see the flag once you steer counter clockwise. You see the ship approach, your crew looking up at you for direction.

"Haha me laddies', ne'er be feared! A great sum we'll reap from ye ole fishing trawlarrrrrr!" you shout, fake rifle in the air. With that, you detail them in verbose piratese your plan:

> Everyone hide in the bridge, let them board, and then burst out to ambush!
> Randy wait on deck, greet them, and we ambush them!
> While they board, we hide portside by the fishing crane, then jump aboard, rob the vessel, then return and ambush them from their own ship!
