Welcome to Tribes Evo, a game where you take control of a tribe and evolve it culturally, technologically, and historically through time. Currently, two of our tribes are massively gaining population, a culture mechanic has been introduced, and bunnies and ducks have finally met each other.

Previous Threads (please read if new): http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=tribevo
Discord: https://discord.gg/r36b7By
Art: http://imgur.com/a/rpvXu

POTT: http://www.strawpoll.me/13053621

New Players Guide:
>Every turn is a new day
>Every turn each tribe can do one action and research
>Research - Laws, Technologies, Arts, Customs
>Action - Trading, Hunting, Scouting, Organizing
>At least one player per tribe, no upper limit on tribe members
> Only ONE action and ONE research PER TRIBE, must be agreed by majority
> Please read sheet to verify 1) whether a tech/culture has already been researched and 2) whether OP fucked up in updating sheets

Other Mechanics:
> Combat (NPC) - one commander per tribe, roll xd100 where x is the number of GROUPS of units you wish to fight (ask oldfag or OP if unclear)
> Culture - After exposure to other cultures, rolls can be made to determine how foreign cultures can affect your civilization's society
> Nationhood - Once a tribe reaches 1000+ population, they are eleigible for nationhood. They will then need a constitution, flag, currency, formal military, and more than one town. The constitution MUST include established geographic borders, name of your state, and governing body.

Going to be including Turn 64 next turn. It is Day 22 of spring; in 8 days summer will be here!

See you say that, this is the opportunity I have been waiting for.

Now, if we lose, I can start the mass militarisation. If we succeed, I can start the mass glorification of the military. Both these lead to a stronger or larger military.

Rolled 24, 48, 54, 76 = 202 (4d100)

>>1504138
>>
>>1504144
Though the first shot missed, the next two trebuchet shots managed to completely flatten the hive. The bunnies are able to line in their individual lines and fire hell upon the approaching bees. The first line had barely been able to turn the tide, loosing arrow after arrow into some 56 bees. The second line had picked up the brunt of the casualties, most through being outnumbered, but their armor had turned most of the casualties into injuries, whereas deaths, if they ever came, were incurred in the foot or face. The final line had managed to kill some bees who were being entertained by the second line, whilst also facing a fair number of bees themselves; some 43. In the end, the bunnies with their advantages in distance, metal armor, and archery skill, manage to seize the victory and keep the meadows bee free.

Bunny Casualties: 35 injuries, 19 deaths

All three hives are gone. The Soldier Bee is now extinct on the island. Congratulations players.

Bunnies rejoice that the bee menace is vanquished! Having investigated the impact zone of where trebuchet met hive, they notice they unknowingly opened an entrance to a cavern, with completely new materials than what they excavated from their caves! The scouts alert the head digger, who sends miners there immediately.

(Bunnies now have access to iron and quartz)

Impressive for never getting low rolls until recently. Frogs failed almost every scouting roll. Even with our modifiers that we made intentionally for that reason failed.

We definitely want to explore the coast/fishing/sea ideas, but with the state of things Alpha Chicken has proposed another idea that I support. I'm worried about the exploration to the west, because the coast there is a cliff, so it would be difficult to navigate - and the nearest 'beach' seems to be southward, quite a long ways away

Assuming no other bunnies suggest a turn:

Action: The bunnies in light of their recent victories and losses, decide to create a monument in the capital to all of the dead surface guard it took to end the threat. Their names en-carved into the stone for the rest of time and to inspire the next generation of bunny warriors.

Research: These new materials are interesting and their potential uses must be investigated by the college in regards to metalworking and such.
>>
>>1504954
Action: Following the excitement that followed the seasonal craftsman festival, the Alpha Hen decides to establish an open market just inside the walls of the capital. Vendors can sell their wares, from innovative foods to elaborate silks, beginning a process of competition among the crafters and growers to weed out the less talented or inventive.

Research: Farmers in Sprouton experiment with irrigation for the crops to ensure they stay watered.
>>
>>1504954
Research: Frogs begin to accept the openly sexual philosophy and obsorb it into croakism officially. The free love nature gives them a pop boost.

Action: The frogs round up the ladybugs and give them a pen to begin farming them for food, however they may have more uses than that in the future.

Trade: Devout Croakist followers attempt to speak openly about their religion with the Chickens in Unity Market. However, they will leave alone if the chickens are bothered by them.
>>
>>1504954
Action: At long last the Bee nuisance has been exterminated, but unfortunately many bunnys lost their lives. Because of this a large statue created of silver and decorated with quartz shall be commissioned and set within the center of the capital as a memorial to the brave soldiers lost.

Research: With the discovery of iron Bunnys at the university begin various tests. After smelting some with charcoal they notice its composition changes somewhat and they call the discovery steel. They hope this new metal will be usefull to us in the future.

>>
>>1506252

Research: Chickens develop crude pipes out of bamboo inspired by the grand construction by the Frogs, using them to feed fresh water from streams into their irrigation and into the city.

Trade: Chickens trade spiders and information about the biology and breeding of spiders in exchange for ladybugs and similar information about ladybugs.

Change research to beetle breeding & conditioning to make larger more obedient more durable beetles that will be easier to train

That seems quite pointless given we haven't gotten much from them, as we don't use them as labour animals and we don't eat them.
>>
>>1506660
no no but the point is we can use them as our long distance messengers over the seas & between boats, we've been arguing about this for ages trying to come up with a way. Frogs wouldn't trade dragonflies, duck trade service fell through, & we'd have had to use an action to find an insect that does it

OP gave us beetles which are exactly what we needed for long distance communication when we send out boats & set up new colonies

1. Silk decor to frogs
2. Rice hats to chickens
>>

Chickens are not affected by the strange rice hat trend, but frogs adopt silk decor into their own nice lillypad homes; in fact now with the acquirement of spiders, they can spin their own designs and own it as a unique, Frog brand!

Assuming no other bunny controllers turn up.

Action: The ship hull has been completed after many long days of work, yet it must still be readied further to travel. For this purpose the bunnies begin looking into installing all the necessities of life onto the ship: a kitchen, sleeping quarters and a larder.

Research: The bunnies looking to improve their quality of life begin looking into enhancing their living conditions: shining silver plates to act as mirrors, finely made copper utensils to replace the usual wooden ones, copper + silver broaches / pins and even simple toys for their children like clay beetles.

OP, if the ship is ready to travel already, then I would like to send it on a scouting action rather than the above action.
>>
>>1509277
Action: Chickens implement ladybugs in their farms to control pests, hoping to secure a greater yield of each harvest.

Research: Chickens begin looking into ways to refine their iron more, and discover tempering that can lead to steel production using their stores of charcoal and advanced metallurgy. (not sure how many turns that's worth, so)
>>

Wait, I thought we dealt with the camoweed issue by using dyed silk?
>>
>>1509277

Action: small groups of ducks begin flying to all corners of the island, cataloging all details they see to make a complete map

Research: increase the strength of duck doctrine instilling a way of life, condemning heretics from other religions and encouraging it's members to save others, making defection harder and conversion easier

Action: with the newly aquired pully system, the frogs at Poddles Port begin making a giant crane to pull supplies up and down the cliffside en masse.

Research: Frogs begin to copy the spidercarts, wheels and all to make travel much more effecient for all non dragonfly rider.

Chickens approach nationhood, and as such, the Alpha Hen looks back over how far her flock has come. And how far The Flock has come, too.

Action: The Alpha Hen and her Ministers gather in the capital to draft a constitution. The Konfederation of Free-range Chickens (KFC for short) is established as a constitutional hereditary monarchy with appointed ministers to advise the Alpha Hen. Attached are our declared borders, and any infringements upon our borders will be met with retaliation unless we are on solid diplomatic terms. A crown is forged of gold and turquoise for the Alpha Hen, and her silken robes are dyed a rich teal blue to set her apart from the average Chicken.

Research: Chickens are inspired by their catapult technology and the exploits they've seen of the Frogs and set out to develop their own ranged weapon - making spider-string bows using springy bamboo.

Trade: To celebrate their impending Nationhood, the Alpha Hen dispatches an official diplomatic treatise to the Frogs to become allies, and to call upon them to assist in defending the Chicken borders should it be required in the same way Chickens have helped defend Frogs in times past.

>>1511895
Rather interesting to see how the chickens have claimed the land the ducks live on yet entirely avoided any of the land along the coast towards the Frogs.

Not to mention they left that huge area to the south unconsumed...just more land for us Bunnies when we get round to it I guess...
>>
>>1511895
I agree to it. Now we just need this image edited to fit me now wearing the crown and robes.
>>
>>1511930
We have our allies, and we make good on our word. We intend to keep our end of the bargain with the Bunny King as well, so don't mistake us for a threat to Bunny kind.
>>
>>1511895
Also OP, a question:

Comparing the chicken and bunny growth rates for our colonies, they are near identical. Yet we bunnies have almost 4 times as many colonies with a greater population (roughly 3 times greater), more advanced medical methods and even proper medical facilities in each one after we dedicated a turn to building hospitals in every colony after their success in the capital.

Why is this so?
>>
>>1511944
I am certain you do but it seems strange that you claim the land of the ducks. However if you have made a deal with bunny king I shan't oppose his decisions...
>>
>>1511957
You have it backward. We claimed land that was already ours that the Ducks happened to land on. Manifest Bawkstiny, motherclucker. You can keep your side of the island, we rather look forward to trading with you.
>>
>>1511951
You're asking some old history. Bunny King made a turn that automated bunny burrow colonies since the capital seemed to get crowded every couple of turns. I made it so that a new colony would have 70-80 bunnies that would fit into eight burrows per colony. If a colony gets overpopulated, rather than building it out, a new one is made. The policy has been unhindered since, but if the bunnies choose, they can expand few colonies to host more rather than make many colonies that host few.

Also, recall that the chickens had a small growth rate compared to the bunnies until they got the pop growth boost after destroying the hive. They have since wisely used the opportunity to boost pop growth during the short time span to reach 1000.
>>

>>1511936
>>
>>1511980
I am aware of the policy, I was there when it was made and I supported it.

Okay but another few questions then:

Why didn't we get a population boost from beating it?

How is it that by making new colonies we lower the birth rate so far?

How in the hell are the less medically advanced (bunnies have hospitals, medical salve, surgery and splints, they only have first aid), less numerous chickens (we out number them nearly 4 to 1 in the colonies alone) managing to almost out birth us when not only is it our racial trait but they are supposed to only be getting doubled population growth and thus by all logic shouldn't be so close?
>>
>>1512007
1. bunnies are vegetarian and cant eat bees. Also it would balance a little bit.
2. Im not sure what you mean by this, can you clarify?
3. The chickens have a double growth rate, next turn the growth rates will stabilize to be half of what it presently is. Its a temporary boost. The reasoning is because they defeated a beehive and are celebrating by eating the corpses of their dead enemies.
>>
>>1512068
>>1512007
Are you referring to the fact that I havent updated growth rates when I add colonies? This is an honest mistake that I will fix.
>>
>>1512068
1) That seems like bullshit but I will buy it for now.

2) Well the only logical way I can explain our low birth rate is the population being so spread out.

3) That doesn't explain why it is as high as ours. I already accounted for that in my calculations.

In the bunny colonies there are 988 bunnies. In the chicken colonies there are 280. For every 1 bunny there is 0.283 chickens which means for every 100 bunnies there is 28.3 chickens.

The bunny colonies have a hospital in each, staffed with medical experts taught in a god damn college and skilled in surgery. Specifically things like childbirth and such. They have access to medical salves to encourage healing as well. The chickens have no medical facilities and are only trained in first aid.

Even ignoring the fact that a doubled population growth would imply, assuming they bred at the same rate and such, they would get twice as much. There is the fact that bunnies were stated to breed better / faster and so on.

Yet looking at the numbers, 988 bunnies are breeding enough past replacement for 33 more. Those 280 chickens? 30. That means that they are being some very fucking productive chickens.

Literally it makes no sense unless you are telling me we bunnies are having a bunch of problems out of nowhere when it comes to breeding.

>>1512093
Dammit OP, these are quite important things to keep up to date!
>>
>>1512111
We have a medical facility in our capital. And our medics have a lot of field training after the Bee Wars, they always got incredibly good rolls to save the day, so trial by fire anatomical lessons. Now we study medicine at a designated hospital pagoda, so.....
>>
>>1512144
That is lovely but I excluded our capitals from this comparison but that is quite possibly the only place the population rates seem about right yet even if I round our population growth in the capital down to 50% (35 / 2 = 17) yours is still higher than it should be at 54, which is three times greater.

I'd point out our medics also got plenty of practice in combat against the bees, even developing methods for use against the wounds they make.

As to you having studied medicine at a designated pagoda. I see no mention of it on your nation sheet.

Also, I just noticed you have no knowledge of your own biology but we do which is yet another thing which should raise our birth rate.
>>
>>1512190
Bunnyanon, I completely understand your point. I have neglected to add pop growth modifiers to the colonies, only doing so to the capital. I realize it doesn't make much sense for each colony to have +3 population without also adjusting for medicine institutions and agriculture, and I will calculate and release what I believe is the bunny's true population in the morning. Good night.

Action: Chief Froggo steps forth to his nation in Croakomo and gives a speech of how far they have come. He has made his borders clear to his people and how they are not to be infringed upon outside of trade or Unity Market. (Borders cross into Bunnies cuz we dont know they exist)

Changing bunny action.

>Action: Send diplomatic group to the frog creatures
Bunnies have noticed the frogs have begun regularly encroaching on bunny land. As there hasn't been contact yet, it could be another threat like the bees, or a simple misunderstanding. Bunnies send a diplomatic group to frog territory to establish a language & whether they are friend of foe, by bringing both tokens of peace in the form of simple glass jewlery & a carrot.
Upon hearing of the budding nationhood, they make it clear that they are willing to shave their borders down to allow frogs a corridor to the lake, But that half of juni jungle & & all of the river is bunny land.

Bunnies propose this new border to prevent any hostilities and ensure both groups get what they want . Pic related
>>
>>1512978
Correction
They bring both tokens of peace in the form of (simple glass jewlery & a carrot) AND weapons for self defense incase the frogs are hostile*
>>
>>1511669
>>1511689
Action: In hopes of improving our friendship with our frog and chickens, we send Duck Doctrine missionaries to all the frog and chicken towns we've seen on our scouting.

Research: Stronger evangelizing and a somewhat hostile attitude towards filthy heretics. We don't want then to fall into the flaming pond bellow and suffer for 1000 years, so we'll have to be a bit harsh. Tough love it is
>>
>>1512978
They see weaponized bunnies and approach with spears and dragonflies. They also approach with turquoise jewelry and a fully cooked fish soup. They grunt and show their maps, then agree to the bunnies terms of borders. Gratefully they offer banjos and to sing with them.

Frogs see that ducks dislike their "heretical ways" and don't allow the missionaries into their homes.
>>
>>1512987
Also I think I should've mentioned missionaries act as diplomatic figures in the duck tribe. What with us being theocratic and all
>>
>>1513012
Yes, but you taught them to be radicals that hate heretics. No amount of diplomacy can fix that
>>
>>1512990
Frogs will also state that the river is not to be dammed.
>>
>>1513020
The rabbits worry that the frogs will try to swim up the river towards bunny citizens in future. In exchange for a promise of not damming & blockading the river in bunny territory, bunny want 6 dragonfly eggs as an assurance of peaceful intentions.
>>
>>1511669

Revising diplomatic action at the consensus of chickens and frogs putting their take on it. Disregard the last actions, please.

They see weaponized bunnies and approach withspears and dragonflies. They also approach with turquoise jewelry and cooked fish soup. Theg grunt and discuss borders and maps. Then agree to the bunny borders. However, if the bunnies wish to control the rivers they have to sign a treaty that promises not to dam the river in exchange for frogs respecting borders. They also agree to splitting the forest in half for ownership, but ask for having a trade post set up in the center to start proper relations. Bunnies are welcome to settle at the trade post as an act of goodwill.
>>1513034
Dragonflies are non negotiable. Ever.
>>
>>1513035
Bunnies have just met the frogs & do not know yet what their intentions are, so are understandably hesitant to completely trust the frogs. Especially since they are clearly sentient and capable of warfare, in order to protect it's citizens from potential threats up the river they will create a toll gate at the river's mouth, allowing water to flow into the lake, but making sure anything going the other way has the bunny's permission...at least until the alien creatures have shown to be reliably non threatening.

They agree to send a dozen merchants to the chicken frog trade town to offer exchanges of goods and to help promote the new peaceful relationship

Frogs agree to a toll gate, however they wish for the gate to be placed pic related so that frogs do not feel spied on and are at a distance, but still on the river so bunnies can see them coming.
>>
>>1513044
Bunnies have seen frogs consistently encroaching on bunny land. While it is believed to be a misunderstanding, the bee threat has made the bunnies cautious. They KNOW the lake is where the ducks live, & wish to see how the frogs & chickens interact with another clan that the bunnies know to be peaceful in order to assess whether frogs & chickens are a threat.
If they are shown to be a peaceful civilized ally, there is no reason why the bunnies wouldn't be happy to move or even completely remove the gate

For now frogs do not get a say on how the Bunnies choose to defend their own citizens from within their own borders.

Chickens & frogs love eachother and intermingle reguarly, the frogs love mounts & water & Cocks, while the chickens are aggressive & warmongering. They both HATE the ducks because the ducks fled during the first bee battles

Ducks migrate seasonally & landed in frog territory, they are extremely religious (duckus vult) and have a nice little town by a lake with bamboo houses. They are about to be absolutly felt up by clucking chickens & reeeing frogs who's passive aggressivness has finally passed the breaking point because the ducks sent missionaries to spread duck god

Ok, I've done some rough estimation and calculation, I think bunny's true population is a cumulative 3366 with a +36 for the capital and +123 for all the colonies. I've made it convenient and put 1/3 of the population in the capital and 2/3 in the colonies. I could recalculate to make it completely true, but I would rather not parse through the archives and calculate from the past 10+ sheets. Is this population agreeable?

In that case, I'm not entirely convinced you can become a nation, unless you can make an argument that a nation can be defined in a barter system economy?
>>
>>1513315
Currency is usually backed by a promise for something. Frogs just want the something, not representation of it.

Right, but in history barter systems are used in primal societies, ie tribes and clans. Maybe instead of nation, I would grant you a title as Barter States? Its a technicality really.

General note, there seems to be concern about cutting off the river connected to the interior lake. But the lake feeds into the river toward the sea. If they dam the river the bunnies lose access to water. Frogs have nothing to fear in terms of access to water in the lake.

That would be the case if it were a stream coming from the mountains, but it's not, it's a static lake, where's the water coming from?

It's the runoff of the precipitation from the west part of the island. The lakebed is a lower point than the higher jungles. It makes perfect sense? The sea doesn't flow into lakes. It would be salt water

Ok, its hard for me to parse through all the agreements, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Bunnies send an envoy to the frogs to formally greet them. They offer land for their newly established border, but want a gate to be established inside their part of the river and send some bunnies at Unity Village in a gesture of friendship.

Bunnies also make a slipway and begin fixing their boat. It will take some time with fewer bunnies. Finally, they are in the process of converting their tools to better materials.

The bunnies on the island see a wild sight in the middle of the day -- a floating log with three weird looking, long nosed creatures dressed in carapace!

The aardvarks are nocturnal, mammalian carnivores who subsist on a healthy diet of bugs such as ants and termites. On this island, there are three aardvark clans, one of which any group of lurkers (or jumping ship players) will control. They will be able to absorb the other two tribes via diplomacy or submission.

The aardvarks first reaction to the rabbits is very wary. The aardvarks who found you are Day Guards, who roam around the protect their tribe from the creatures of the day. Thus, they view the bunnies as some sort of potentially rabid creature. They also view vegetarians as dumb, similar to their delicious ants, as their ants are also fed delicious fruits and veggies to make their meat that much sweeter.

The aardvarks invite their new (maybe captive?) bunnies to their village, where many aardvarks start to wake up from their daily sleep.

Introducing the aardvarks!

There are actually three aardvark clans in the north island, of which you play one, but they are huge. Given the jungle's plethora of ants, the aardvarks are able to increase their population massively and settle in permanent camps. The richness of the jungle also gives wide varieties and volume of fruits, of which they feed their ants to make tasty meats. There are three breeds of ants: small ones are bred inside houses in controlled stony boxes and eaten as snacks. Medium ones are the size of small dogs and are used as pets, as well as food. Large ones are sometimes used for food, but more often as transport.

They started the turn in burrows, but built up and down to make apartment like stone buildings so that many can sleep curled up during the day. Their king lives in a giant pyramid with his beautiful wife, Guinivaar.

Your tribe is led by King Aarthur. Aardvarks are nocturnal, meaning most sleep during the day and are active at night, but they have a Day Guard that protects the village while asleep. As a player, you can choose to seek out and assimilate the other two aardvark villages through diplomacy or submission.

Here is the current sheet. The aardvarks are just beginning to finish transferring their metallurgy knowledge to their tools. Your village's biggest asset compared to the others is your mine.

Noticing the tropical fruit all around them, the ducks use oranges from the ship to show peaceful intentions & our ship and our ability to establish communication to show we're intelligent . Bunny turn assuming that no one opposes:

Action: The bunnies, seeing that their island is growing increasingly crowded, and worried about the fate of their ship-crew expand their surface guard and intensify their training.

Research: Develop improved ship designs: equipped with upscaled Ballistas, trebuchets and rams to attack other ships and bombard anything that threatens them.

Something I want to do but isn't really a action: The bunnies, knowing that their borders are seemingly at risk of being overran by other nations, resolve to establish additional colonies. The current colonies all have populations in the range of 200 and thus can easily be split in half without harm.

These new colonies will focus around the border regions and thus will secure our lands from potential threats and from other nations claiming them.

----------NEW DISCOVERIES-------------

the bunny survivors are brought to a large and magnificent stone city, with a strange ziggurat dominating the center.

Communications go well but are terse as they do not share a common language. But through hand gestures and drawing they get their points across.

The locals give the bunnies a map of the aardvark lands, showing two more cities, one on the coast and one on a river marsh.

Through questioning the bunnies are able to ask if the ducks seasonal camp is on the island. One trader grunts and gives a rough map of their camp area, along with he migration routes he observed them flying in last fall.

The bunnies are welcomed warmly and given places to stay for the night, but they notice guard are posted around their quarters.

Specifically the southern most island chain >>1514770 off of your mainland and the isthmus to the east of it. Oh and I don't suppose we could, whenever our actual civilisation arrives, trade some tech. Specifically your medical technologies of painkillers?

In return we could offer copper, tin, bronze, quartz and various other such materials or even some of our mathematical or other scientific teachings.

What I propose for Aardvark turn

Action: Send diplomats to our npc cities Negotiating a way to bring them into one administration. We tell them we have discovered new beings and uniting now would be of utmost importance in the case that he turn hostile. We can also work out trade among the cities and get the populace to vote to join via offering benefits of being together.

Tech: With advanced glass we probably have really good furnaces. We need to apply more heat and refine our metals. We need to come up with a blast furnace with a bellow made from ant skin or Jungle fibres with which we can heat our metal with charcoal and create steel and refined metal.

My deals and questions regarding your people are thus:

1) Whenever our civilisation proper arrives can we conduct the following trade deals:

A) Cinnamon for a resource of your choice
B) Painkillers for either a resource or technology of your choice.

2) Whenever our civilisation does arrive may we claim the southern coast's islands and the isthmus present there?

3) Can we explore your lands for plants and animals of interest to our people? For study in our capital's university?

4) Would you like help militarily conquering the other Aardvark city states?

5) Would you be willing to accept the word and concept of the Golden bunny into your heart and mind?
>>

2.) Highly unlikely until more information comes to light. Moving into our proximity and bordering us immediately after discovery is asking for war. (Day creature fear trait)

Okay How about.

Send envoys to bring them into an alliance posing that new nations have been found and we should stand in together.

Bunnies are kinda edgy
>>
>>1516345
I take offence at that. We bunnies are quite possibly the least edgy people out there.

I mean, we are the only people on our home island to have developed the arts in any significant manner. Having music, drama, art, jewellery and so on all present in our culture.

Not to mention our highly developed industry and life styles: furniture made of stone, wood and wool decorating every communal home and finely made woollen clothes on every bunny.

We also have one of the most democratic governments in existence as of this moment in time along with some of the most highly developed sciences: maths, biology, chemistry and astronomy all being subjected to our interest.

Our militarism became a thing thanks to the potential threat raised by the Frog and Chicken tribes, along with later the threat of the bees. The continuation of this militarism as of late is merely to protect what we own and to ensure the survival and success of an independent bunny kind.
>>
>>1516345
We don't know how long our people havw been seperated, we probably have a large sum of cultural differences, but a loose alliance might work
Also while bunnies are being kind of edgy, we need to do something about them, and i don't want to get off on the wrong foot with the current strongest nation
>>
Also OP. We built a trireme right?

Well, I would hate to point this out but a trireme requires at least 180 crew merely to work all of it's oars. Assuming we are going to go by historical standards.

"The next development, the trireme, keeping the length of the bireme, added a tier to the height, the rowers being thus increased to 180.[4] It also had a large square sail."

To quote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bireme

>>1516350
Either way we can have trials to determine a king once one retires or dies. So an elected monarch. Each city puts forth one candidate they vote for which they know is intelligent and strong and the candidates take part in sports to deternine whos king.

The current strongest nation.. is trying to expand onto our lands which we need to grow on with 3 cities we can grow fast.
>>
>>1516354
My overlords are (usually) wise people, whatever you offered must've been useless to us or the offer unreasonable.
>>
>>1516359
I'd point out we aren't trying to expand into your lands. Seeing as you aren't a nation state yet you can't claim lands beyond settling them and potentially a square or two around that for hunting grounds and shit.

Me asking for the southern islands and all that? That was a nicety to respect your historical control of the region and to improve relations.

I only have one thing to say to you: Do you have a flag?

Just to fill you in, We were discussing aardvark helping the bunnies in at least repairing the ship & maybe building a port with the hopes of in return helping aardvarks tech & trade with bunnies in the future. Mill really wants to just kill the bunnies & steal the semi destroyed ship for partial boat tech.
I'm discussing why & what they'd want in return for the help instead, & he semi sees it as holding ransom. Other bunnies haven't see it yet, BUT considering we're constantly churning out ships, are about to finish long distance comms, & maps, we'll probably opt to just lose the SS juni & it's crew (only a few bunnies, replaced in 1 turn), & just set up a port elsewhere rather than co-operate with the aardvarks & continue our isolation & prosperity

Alright so you send an army off shore to the new world which needs time to build and sail but you dont know where ya sailing and what route to take to attack the ??? which you wouldnt know exist, You leave yourself exposed to the chick frog fuck and ducklimists

>>1516383
So the i ask this of you
You help us develop and we'll give you the islands and trade wood and jewls
Our kind is alike in many ways, we share soft fur, we are civilized, we share a love of theater and the arts
I promise you the aarvarks are an honrable people, we will not betray you if you don't betray us
>>
>>1516383
I see, they were attempting to threaten us into cooperation?

I know for a fact we can produce such ships, seeing as we have made a slipway and given our numerical superiority we can die a bunny for an Aardvark and win in the long term.

>>1516385
Literally it is a condition to form a nation state as described by OP.

As to the fate of our army, we literally out number you 4 to 1. If we choose to we could literally throw half our population at you and still outnumber every other tribe individually. Not accounting for the fact that we are outgrowing you by a ratio of 1 Aardvark to every 15.9 bunnies born.

As to needing to know where they were going and ended up, I'd point out we navigate by the stars and therefore most likely had a predetermined route / direction planned. However if that isn't good enough for you we will go and see the ducks about sending a message back.

If you stop us, I will see we burn our ship down before you can learn from it.

>>1516386
I remembered about the catamarans just after posting but would point out they've only ever been used on rivers and lakes. Not ocean going as far as I am aware.

Good to know who you are with and to have you back as the chickens have seemed a little dead lately.

>>1516388
Aye, you have little to offer us that we can't develop ourselves or take by force. Seeing as most of it is natural resources or the refined forms of them.

>>1516391
True but he speaks the truth in this case, the Ducks would be a useless ally to them.

>>
>>1516400
No, not co-operation, just kill & hide the bodies, take boat tech. If we land again they'll be friendly unless we try to make a port, where they will constantly attack. They want trade but no town, which obviously won't do

Thankfully the island is large with plenty of places to set up so it's a non issue really

>>1516399
I'd be fine with this but as it stands that's 1 aardvark for letting bunnies set up to trade with & 1 against so we need a 3rd aardvark
>>
>>1516408
I fail to follow your point?
>>
>>1516409
If they try something like that I know how to eliminate the Aardvarks easily. We transform the land to be like our homeland: no forests just grasslands; no forests means no ants; no ants means no food for Aardvarks; no food means no survival; no survival means no threat.
>>
>>1516400
Also,
>Our army outnumbers you 4 to 1
The rest of the bunny Nation doesn't know about the ardies. The sailors are 100% at the mercy of the ardies, if they decide not to let them contact the rest of the rabbits then the rabbits don't know anything.

>>1516410
He is saying that if you sail a army over there it's metagame, due to not knowing what happened to the ship.
>>
>>1516400
So now you sent your lil bunnies out on a boat to explore and a storm hit and shipwrecked them. A storm would firstly throw you off course and secondly cover the stars with clouds.

Alright so now youre left with 30 bunnies who have landed on the new world where some friendly fucking king aarthur invites them to dine with us and offers to help.

Alright so now the bunny nation at this point thinks either, They found land and are returning so they will wait.

They got lost and will wait
They sunk and died and will idk attempt to build a new explorer ship to sail the pre determined star course which will lead somewhere else because they didnt get thrown off by a storm and shipwrecked.

So now We make a decision to kill the outsiders and and take their boat apart to research or if we watched enough and since we have carpentry and furniture we can easily replicate it.
Your bunnies wouldnt know what was coming or why but now their dead and cant inform their great nation of the fact that they found a landmass and that they should invade it.

So now we check on the new explorers maybe they find different lands or maybe they find a new part of the island and since they wouldnt have ever seen an aardvark before they would be friendly and such.

Your nation will never know we killed your lil bunnies and took your boat tech.
So idk how IC you could know to send a army to attack us for killing your explorers
>>
>>1516413
>The rest of the bunny Nation doesn't know about the ardies. The sailors are 100% at the mercy of the ardies, if they decide not to let them contact the rest of the rabbits then the rabbits don't know anything.
I am well aware but I already plan on sending a fleet after them, seeing as they were to return in time and have not done so. I have already pointed out how our navigation system makes it possible to follow them to roughly the right area.

>He is saying that if you sail a army over there it's metagame, due to not knowing what happened to the ship.
We can make the assumption that they came under some sort of attack or threat. It could be an animal, a storm or another tribe. In our recent history we have encountered new tribes and suffered limited conflicts and difficulties with these. It is logical to assume such a thing could happen elsewhere and with less satisfactory endings.

Thus we will send a fleet equipped to face off against any threat: ships with mounted and up-scaled crossbows to deal with large threats, at great range, accurately and with speed; trebuchets in case we encounter another fleet or a town and need to bombard it; an armed force of surface guard to go ashore, find any survivors, engage threats, negotiate and so on; cargo ships with the supplies needed to repair the boat and to heal the crew assuming they were hurt.

If they fail? Then god help us, I will build a Quadrireme and sail over with it's full compliment of crew.

While they are sub aardvark, (filthy fucking leaf eaters) they are mammals
Surely that has to count for something

also how would these guys even get back home?
They were thrown off course by a storm, they have no idea were they are and propably don't know any of the stars
>>
>>1516419
>So now you sent your lil bunnies out on a boat to explore and a storm hit and shipwrecked them. A storm would firstly throw you off course and secondly cover the stars with clouds.
Aye it would but I doubt it would throw us so unbelievably off course that we couldn't spot a large land mass from the general region. Especially if we were to say, hire some ducks to fly above our ship looking around?

>Alright so now youre left with 30 bunnies who have landed on the new world where some friendly fucking king aarthur invites them to dine with us and offers to help.
After threatening to kill them and steal their ship and shit aye but still in universe I suppose so. You did then however keep guards around where they were resting.

>Alright so now the bunny nation at this point thinks either, They found land and are returning so they will wait.
I'd doubt it, we know how long it can be at sea and that they would want to return quickly if they found anything.

>They got lost and will wait
With astral navigation being lost is almost impossible so long as the stars remain the same.

>They sunk and died and will idk attempt to build a new explorer ship to sail the pre determined star course which will lead somewhere else because they didnt get thrown off by a storm and shipwrecked.
We don't know how intense that storm was. It could just have been bad luck that got us shipwrecked. Which seems likely based off of where we landed: right on the coast of the island chain as if we were beached ashore by an intense wave on a sand bank or such.

>So now We make a decision to kill the outsiders and and take their boat apart to research or if we watched enough and since we have carpentry and furniture we can easily replicate it.
Seems like a great time for us to start burning our shit. Oh well, we can make another or get pickup after contacting the ducks to tell our friends on the home island.

>Your bunnies wouldnt know what was coming or why but now their dead and cant inform their great nation of the fact that they found a landmass and that they should invade it.
Again, an invasion would require you were a nation state. This is simply civilisation overwhelming barbarism. Also we plan on going with the Ducks when they move back for the winter either way.

>So now we check on the new explorers maybe they find different lands or maybe they find a new part of the island and since they wouldnt have ever seen an aardvark before they would be friendly and such.
And because the last exploration attempt went so badly, we clearly will be sending a large military escort to be safe.

>Your nation will never know we killed your lil bunnies and took your boat tech.
Considering you would be mirroring our style near identically, we could almost certainly guess that you at least met our crew.

>So idk how IC you could know to send a army to attack us for killing your explorers
>>1516421
>>
>>1516429
Exactly its the perfect crime.

They want us to help them and build a trade port to get the ship tech meanwhile we can just help them repair it to level and then take it.
>>
>>1516429
>While they are sub aardvark, (filthy fucking leaf eaters) they are mammals
Great to see you are giving us all the more reason to treat you as barbarians.

>also how would these guys even get back home?
>They were thrown off course by a storm, they have no idea were they are and propably don't know any of the stars
We literally navigate only by the stars and have been studying them for quite sometime.
>>
>>1516432
Yep. Time to go with plan B.

Complete destruction of confidential research and reclimation of all usable resources. Before moving to the duck camp to wait for winter.
>>
>>1516435
There are no ducks in duck camp. No buildings either, before they came to our island they were living at a camp. IIRC you also don't know where duck camp is.
>>
>>1516432
You over step your reach
The aardvarks are an honorable people who shall not commit such acts unless we are wronged
So until the bunnies have proven themselves unworthy, we shall help them
>>
>>1516437
We know where duck camp is. >>1514768

When I say we know something, I always have proof of it. Your doubt is annoying.

Once there we merely need wait for them to return, setting up a small camp and preparing for their return by gathering whatever supplies we need and want. Studying the local plant life and so on.
>>
>>1516435
You seem to be a horrible diplomat
We shall help you, but you should realize, we aren't the ones who step on to your lands and critized the way of your people
>>
>>1516435
We'd like to point out literally all of the bunnys in discord disagree with you constantly threatening the advarks. If you want to act this way feel free to join a different tribe.
>>
>>1516441
I want to kill all ducks even more now.
>>
>>1516443
I am no diplomat whenever I am threatened with extermination. If you can oppose him and avoid the elimination of my people, I will avoid taking actions of that calibre and I will endeavour towards actions that benefit all.

Also, you are the ones criticising our ways of life, seeing as your tribe-mate there is insulting us for being a tribe that lives during the day.

Literally the first descriptions of how your tribe think describe the bunnies as>>1514165. We are not the barbarians here.

Also, we didn't exactly come to your island of our own free will and you INVITED US to your fucking city. So of course we step on your lands.
>>
>>1516432
If we want ship tech, we can just record the designs on their vessel and reverse engineer it.

If they wish to go home, they need supplies and some repair or maintenance on their ship after the storm.
These are things we could provide, but we need access to their navigation methods as well as a grasp of how their ships are designed.
>>
>>1516444
Fine, I shall relent. I just want it made clear however that should this backfire on us that I reserve the right to say I told you so.

>>1516445
Dammit man do you mind not killing them all until they can get the message across? Just kill their priests and be done with it.
>>
>>1516438
We have no obligations towards these unteraardvarks.
>>
>>1516450
I would also like to point out my threats are purely retaliatory and that plan B is a last resort method of securing the technology.
>>
>>1516448
Yea I said that. Then hot cross asked for us to build them a trade town.. and help them for the ship tech alone..
>>
>>1516452
Yes but these are new creatures who have some semi balance of intelligence (still can't fucking eat ants though) we should see how they act and think
>>
>>1516450
Literally none of us care what happens here, at best the ship is fixed and they return and we make a trading colony. At worst we lose a insignificant 30 bunnys and they get a completly ruined boat if they go that route. None of your wall of texts and you constantly having a hard on for bunny military superiority helped the situation in any way.
>>
Chicken here, what happened? I'm having difficulty processing everything...
>>
>>1516464
We require jihad on ducks asap.
>>
>>1516461
I fail to see how this is a rational reaction to the situation, I can see why you are willing to expend the population as much as I disagree with that but without knowing the state of the boat, it is entirely possible it is repairable and that they will get it up and running quickly and threaten us and our future expansion.

My walls of text are in reaction to what they said, they are not meant to help the situation. They are meant to inform and clear up the situation for anyone on either side uncertain of a fact raise in them.

As to me having a hard on for our military, I am calling bullshit. I am merely stating what we are capable of and what we can levy against them in simple terms.

>>1516464
Essentially, the mainland is fine. The new island is potentially about to murder 30 bunnies and steal their broken boat.
>>
>>1516460
How about this?
We take a measured approach, we help these herbivores, but for a price.
We help fix their ship, supply them for the journey and send an envoy with them to determine whether or not these people are a threat to us.
In exchange, for this help, we will record their ship designs into our archives.

If they wish to open a trade with us, we shall need to negotiate how much they are willing to pay for this trade route.
>>
>>1516469
This seems like a fine deal
>>
>>1516468
Heres the thing, we. Dont. Care. If they get the designs so what? They have none of the tech needed to actually put it together let alone some of the materials. Just do us a favor and stop negotiating with other nations if none of us are around. You've already done enough damage.
>>
>>1516477
In all fairness, if you want trade between our two species, you'd have to give to us the tech anyhow because otherwise there'd be no way for us to trade with you, which in turn means we don't really have much reason to let you trade with us.
>>
>>1516477
TO be fair Bking, I did the negotiating in disc to see if they'd be peaceful. The aardvarks were adamant on this regardless. Green bunny anon isn't actually making things any worse by arguing
>>
>>1516479
The majority want a trade deal, tech for resources
>>
>>1516478
Let us put this simply, we'll just fix our ship on our own if you want mutiple turns of tech so you can recreate our ship. Its no problem really. We'll just come back and land on a seperate part of the island to set up a colony. If you attack the ship well you still have no tech needed to recreate it by a massive stretch. Either way we could care less really.
>>1516479
Its fine hotcross, they can ostracize themselves from the other nations if they want. It really doesn't affect us.
>>
>>1516489
>set up a colony
I changed my mind.
Kill the bunnies, use the bodies to feed ants.
>>
>>1516485
Actually if you look at it, it's our ship tech for the ability to trade with you (plus negotiating extra). We're not getting anything at all out of this. Why would we make that trade instead of just setting up somewhere else
>>
>>1516491
Hey man its your choice, all we'd lose is a completely wrecked boat and a mere 30 bunnys. We really dont care about such losses. Besides were already used to people wanting to kill us for little reason.
>>
Well i guess this deal just went up in flames
Just break the broken ship apart so they never find it
Feed the bunnies to the ants
Maybe try to seta deal up with the duck once they come back for winter
Atleast they can fucking eat ants
>>
>>1516491
Yea
Its unfortunate but this is our only option to stay hidden
>>
>>1516477
I am insulted you treat someone who has done good by the tribe in past like a cancerous growth and disregard them so callously.

If they get the designs, I would point out, they have literally all they need to reproduce them: they have metals specifically Iron, wood and the skills to work these materials. It is not unbelievable that they could alter the material components of our design to suit their available resources assuming that it was made using copper or steel.

As to negotiating: I did not and would prefer if you wouldn't slander me so.

I did propose deals, certainly, and ask questions in order to develop my plans and to see what they would be willing to trade. I never forced a deal, I never sealed a deal and I specifically stated that it would only occur with the support of my superiors: you (although that is more questionable now) or Hot crossed Bunny.

I have done no damage to our relations with this tribe considering that they are still split 50 / 50 on killing us between their two anons (ignoring the brand new guy, don't know about him...) like they were when I first started interacting with them.

If you don't believe anything I just said, then you may check this thread for the facts. My innocence of my supposed crimes is clear as glass.

>>1516478
We can set up a trade city / resupplying post on the southern island and trade with you from there. Plus whenever you secure the city at the river merging with the ocean we can sail ships right into the bay.

See!

.
>>
>>1516497
It's literally a hostage situation. You want ship tech for nothing. In the grand scheme of things, wether or not the SS juni comes home doesn't matter, All that'd matter would either being trading your tech for our tech, or if we were abit to happily just set up our port. It's either here or somewhere else. Simple as
>>
>>1516503
Tbh The ship tech is irrelevant.. We want our land not to go to yours.
We want isolation.
The ship tech we get will just be recorded on a wood board and forgotten till we have solidified our lands.

Even Op recognised a problem here with his first post.
> invite their new (maybe captive?) bunnies to their village,

This is our fate.
>>
>>1516501
We have iron mines.
We also do not have stable form of goverment.

Until our future is secure, we cannot afford to take the chance that you'd find a colony on our land and inflame tribal conflict in an attempt to gain access to our natural resources.
>>
>>1516510
So just checking, everything I have said to you, everything I have pointed out and logically argued to prove that we will bring more force next time and we can't be stopped.

None of that in any way effected you plans or ideas like Bunny king implies that I did?
>>
>>1516501
Anon pls, they no real material for sails other than leaves, no engineering, no idea of the concept of buoyancy.

We'll just settle a place away from them somewhere else on the island later on.
>>
>>1516512
1) I am aware of the Iron mines, that is why I said you had access to that metal.

2) You do have form of stable government, what you mean is you lack control of all of the Aardvark city states.

As to us threatening your nation for resources, literally the only things we would want are cinnamon (a spice which means we don't need much), the painkillers (a great trade good but chances are we can grow it at home and thus don't need your land) and possibly some of your ants (purely for biology studies, we have our own draught animals). The rest we either already have or can get ourselves essentially.

>>1516519
The vessel we made was a Trireme. You know, a vessel primarily powered or even entirely powered by fucking oars?
>>
>>1516519
We habe an canoe frieeend :^)
>>
>>1516519
As to them lacking engineering, they don't need engineering, they are following an existing design and are only repairing it.

As to the buoyancy part, it took us a single turn to research, they can do it in the same time as well if OP won't let them just fix the boat without it.

They already have astronomy, once they have the boat they can use it.
>>
>>1516521
>and possibly some of your ants (purely for biology studies)

Sails Anon, OP wanted us to have them for sea fairing on our ship.

Also, me and the others dont really want to pursue military tech when we could technologically advance elsewhere, not to mention our burrows are practically invulnerable right now. So good luck with that.
>>
>>1516535
So improve our forges so we can refine metals?
After this turn we should probably make a religion and hash out our government form
>>
>>1516543
Nah, we will however be using it as a reason to send out fleets instead of singular boats.

I am more so talking about the fact we are getting established borders with other nations, the near-conflict with the frog's, the change in land because we weren't able to enforce our claim and so on.

It's just simple logic that we modernise our military to enforce our political clout: patrolling our borders and shit.
>>
>>1516547
Oh okay, that makes sense.

I would point out I want to tech militarily because we don't really have a clear point of progression at our current tech level.

Usually I would suggest making windmills and waterwheels but the problem is we would need to make tunnels deep into the burrows to make use of them, making them an expensive investment to automate labour.

Still once that is done we will have a large population surplus we can use to enforce our borders by creating colonies all along them.
>>
>>1516551
or learn how to build castles, military tech either way.
>>
>>1514470
Action: Envoys to the other cities urging an alliance and perhaps a nation in the face of threats arriving on our shores and show the rabbit weapons and armour as well as the ship which they arrived on. If they join we will share the tech and our mine will be useful for the entire race.
Tech: Steel, using our iron and coal as well as our advanced furnaces which allow adv. glass

Interaction: Help the rabbits build some of the ship and then kill them all.
IC reasons
1. Highly tech advanced if theres one and they return home there will be more
2. Filthy Day plebs
3. Unsure of their intentions
4. Better to not take a risk

You could even say that we accepted with open hands and wanted to help but then Elders and the Influential came forth with doubts and too many good points to make the king change his mind.

Just stop argueing & save yourself a headache, the SS Juni crew don't matter in the grand scheme of things, the bunnies will set up a colony on north island with or without aardvark help, & if they do anything we'll keep the citizens safe, expand the military & crush them, don't worry about it, all of this really doesn't matter
>>
>>1516660
He's trying to take our ants to perform some foul herbie magic on them!
>>
>>1516670
I literally have nothing better to do but feed the trolls. I mean I could play overwatch but god knows I am bored of that shit for now and I have a lovely video on in the background.

Also, I know that the crew don't matter but I don't want the Aardvark's gaining an inch, even if we are going to take a mile.
>>
Where does anything say that the aardvarks killed bunnies? Op still needs to make a turn
>>
>>1516696
Nothing yet but it is their planned turn.
>>
>>1516696
What Bunnies?
>>
>>1516709
What Aardvarks?
>>
>>1516613
and you wonder why we killed your explorers to buy some time?
>>
>>1516744
This is entirely in reaction to your choice of aggressive action.

Previously I planned on taking the southern islands, the isthmus and using them to support longer ranged exploration, research and trade with your people.

Most of the island you live on is a giant forest, something we bunnies don't live in commonly and thus would like to avoid for now at least. Sadly however it looks like we will be forced to show you what the Bunny homeland looks like by making your lands look like it.
>>
>>1516751
But thats meta gaming
You have no knowledge of what actually happened to the bunnies that crash landed
If you attack us now its war mongering
>>
>>1516751
Aggressive?
Need I remind you that it was YOUR people who came within OUR lands, not the other way around.

All we wanted was to be left in peace.
It's you people who wish to encroach upon our lands. You have no say in how we deal with intruders.
>>
>>1516756
Even if they did know about it, it'd still be warmongering.
>>
Ok, chicken bawk. What is the issue so far. I'm pretty sure we have miscommunication or just difficulty speaking in general...
>>
>>1516756
Aye but I can know what is happening to the bunnies and react to it on their end and on the mainland end I have other reasons for militaristic actions which I have previously given.

Also I can't attack you right now, we don't have another boat or a prepared fleet for war or a prepared army even for a massive cross-island war. I mean, maybe in 8 turns I could have enough ready but that would be pushing it...

Also I would point out you are accusable of meta-gaming, you have no way of knowing what the bunny civilisation is like and can only make assumptions based off of the 30 you have seen and what they have with them. Something OP hasn't described and thus neither of us can really use it as a power against or for our point. Yet you seemingly are still acting like the presence of these 30 is proof 3000 are waiting to come across.

>>1516762
It's almost as if when you crash land, you can't control where you crash land, who would've thought that an uncontrolled landing might put us somewhere and having lost our ability to leave, that we might be stuck here?

Also, we want to leave you in peace, seeing as your lands are, essentially, shit. For us at least, seeing as our homeland is far better to colonise and can easily support five times our current population more easily than it would be to colonise even 100 people on yours thanks to all the trees.

>>1516765
Correct.
>>
I'm assuming we need to stay defensive to foreigners now... Just gonna look up ole weapons from the good times...

We don't know how many of you exist
But we do know that its possible more do exist
Judging by the ship it seems like your high tech
You could bring over a few hundred to a million bunnies for all we know
>>
>>1516825
Our ship is a trireme (assuming Op isn't going to listen to my question all the way back about 100 posts) and can at most therefore carry 300 people. Assuming they all stood on the deck and shit.

It would seem logical to assume that given we were so shit as to crash, we aren't very skilled and are thus going to be dissuaded from sea travel, at least in your region.

Depends on the boat...

If it's a kayak, I'm sure anyone can learn.

I don't know what kind of boat they made...

Aardvarks kill the weird day walking floppy eared herbivores and never think of it again. They also develop steel and send envoys to the other aardvark tribes. One is willing to give his kingdom for the price of 300 silver. The other is completely unwilling to give his kingdom and imprisons your envoys, sending a wooden tablet in place stating that the only way to take his kingdom is through conquest. Chickens are upset that some have been converted and joined the duck religion.

Chickens learn to make primitive iron armor by inserting crude iron plates in their wooden armor. Its even heavier now, but provides better defense. Bunny king I would like to request we trade for a few technologies:

From the chickens, we would be wise to gain an understanding of watertight pipes and painkillers. As these will improve the lives of our citizens while helping with some longer term expansion plans of mine. Aqueducts from the river towards the centres of the plains, so that the bunnies that settle there have fresh water to drink and for their crops.

From the Frogs, assuming the chickens prove unwilling or a better deal is offered, we should attempt to acquire their knowledge of watertight pipes, heated baths and possibly some of their medical knowledge. Poison would greatly enhance our combat abilities and their knowledge of heated baths could make our lives all the more luxurious!

From the Ducks, there is little to gain but I would still suggest getting their rope-making knowledge to enhance our ship-making efforts and such. I swear we developed something like rope already but I can't see it on our nation sheet so I guess that is a thing...

These are merely recommendations from me and the loss of them does not negatively impact my larger scale plans in almost any measurable way. This is merely a way of improving our civilisation without spending turns picking up technologies we can gain for "free".

Ducks send some north. They will arrive at the Summer grounds in two days, just when winter starts. Fortunately, they have packed enough food but have few cotton clothes. Being split into two camps, the north island ducks will be able to complete an action but no research. Ducks will be able to control them once they land on turn 73.

They also practice religious combat, so that the full wrath of the duck god is experienced in every swing, and some may fear him. They have yet to practice it in combat, but its more likely to cause fear and doubt than actually convert nonbelievers.

They also fully map the island.

I am entirely serious when I say you have nothing to worry about. Ignore the fact I am about to begin an industrial revolution and refocus most of our population to other roles.

There is almost certainly nothing evil happening in my plan. No proto-napalm I can say that much for certain, yep. Totally not investing into the development of siege weapons, warships, boarding methods, armour, weapons or anything else at all.

Seriously though, most of the plan is entirely innocent and most of it doesn't involve the home-island whenever it comes to the warfare enhancements. Assuming I can get support for it...

Also before the Aardvarks start bitching, I am not coming for you. I am going to send out a bunch of fleets / ships if the plan goes ahead to just generally explore and I am worried that OP might introduce even more tribes...if we find you however then that is that.
>>
My mistake, I have planned the next 17 turns assuming I do no trading with your tribes for technology or we work as a group towards my project...

Would you like to know more?
>>
>>1518422
I mean proto napalm did exist(greek fire) but no one knows how it was actually made
But if you can figure out a way to make proto napalm than good on you
Everything else sounds standard
All i need to know is that you understand that we had little to no choice to keep the sailors alive. The majority of the bunnies wouldn't agree to the deal and a colony right next to us would be potentially clan ending
>>
>>1518461
I can see why you think that but I feel the best thing I can respond to you with is a quote from bomber Harris: "They have sown the wind, now they shall reap the whirlwind".

I have not intent to eliminate your tribe but if we let something like this happen without response, even if that response is unconnected, we invite others to do the same. I may not entirely trust the Frog's, Chicken's and Duck's but I would like to think they wouldn't have done something like this for the possibility of a tech.

Thus we will come in greater numbers and secure ourselves a place on your island. It is a shame, our offers to your people were entirely reasonable as far as I am aware, only asking for a small area yet it is this way your people reacted and thus it must be...

Also before one of the other bunnies wakes up and gives me a lecture about not being aggressive or whatever, I will be dammed if I do nothing to make others think twice about such actions and my plan does result in economic growth for the Bunnies before you worry it is too militaristic.

In fact, would any of you like to choose a number between 1 and 17, corresponding to a point in the plan? Just to prove my point?
>>
>>1518507
Once again, you plan to go to a continent you have never heard of and randomly attack a native clan who, to your current knowledge, has done nothing wrong

>>1518540
Yep.

Well, more accurately, we are going to go and explore the world and on discovery of your region (assuming we don't convince the ducks to lead us to their other home-island) we are going to do as my ancestors did for roughly 400 years.

We are going to colonise the fuck out of everything you hold dear and turn the land into something close to how our homeland is. No big fuck off forests that much is for certain...

>>1518588
Oh if you think weapons are beautiful you should see the flag ship I want / plan on sending out next time we go exploring...
>>
>>1518563
I feel like you shouldn't have so much power
While i think militarizing makes sense, you are planning on doing something which seems completely out of character for the bunnies
Not onky that, but you plan this with out consulting with any of your superiors and the only reason you made this plan is because of a general over reaction to something rather meaningless
>>
>>1517638
I disagree with the action.
We should set up a barracks/temple in sprouton instead as chickplomat said in discord.
>>
>>1518597
So the death of almost 0.9% of our population is meaningless?

Also I would point out that most of my plans are things they'll support anyway and don't involve military actions, just industrial ones that make it easier to mass produce shit, including military gear. It's the other shit I will have to get in while they are away and OP is running. Though to be honest I would do so anyway so the game can keep moving and we don't wait 5 hours for them to return from work or something.

As to my superiors, I allow them to override my plans to keep things moving. There is no power or ruling which places them above me officially as of yet.

As to it being out of character for the bunnies, trust me it won't be once you see the logic I use for most of the military improvements.

I have as much power as anyone else. I just choose to exercise it more...aggressively. Most of the time I just make us do dumb shit like painting or creating the first plays or even trying to get abstract mathematics off the ground. That one is a work in progress.

I would point out you literally only know a few abstractions of what I am actually planning on doing and that you can still ask about any of the 17 stages...each of you can...
>>
>>1518595
We offered you gold in raw/currency versions, a few breeding pairs of spiders and some other shit for said arms deal and you turned it down for "neutrality"
Also what good would silver do for us. We have a military metal and a economic metal already.

>>1518588
Our contract involved manufacturing axes and armor for the items said above, we didn't want to give them the schematics to build actually good things.
>>
>>1518627
As i said before, militarizing makes sense
Randomlt attacking things for no reason doesn't
And yes 30 deaths seems overall irrelevant in a population of over 3000
>>
>>1518634
Again, I wasn't a part of those negotiations since I don't do discord.

However I suppose you have a point about silver not being all that great but there isn't exactly any reason you can't have more than one valuable metal.

I mean most of the other shit we can loot from them is fairly common already to us: cinnamon, ants, their paints and such.

>>1518636
Militarising makes sense. Would you like me to show you an example of my militarisation?

As to attacking random things, who said we would be the aggressors? All we are doing is peacefully colonising and claiming land. It's not our fault if someone trespasses or tries to attack us...

As to 30 deaths seeming irrelevant in a population of 3000, it is literally 1% of such a population and thus could potentially represent near irreplaceable people. Like those you killed given our was a scientific mission partly.
>>
>>1518666

>>
>>1518676
And i leave you with this last message
Im the main character of the show
>>
>>1518676
True I haven't slept for...too long.

As to my logic not being sound, it's not meant to be. It is meant to annoy you into action which then gives me more reason to militarise...however I would point out we aren't annexing you. As that would require you had national borders and such.

As it is we are merely going to spread over your island slowly in our great burrowing way and eventually it will result in us being near you.

Luckily for you I will cease these acts the moment you are a nation-state...kinda. Essentially I will stop treating you like something that is a regional hazard to prune...

Just going to state now, that everything I say is quite possibly the opposite of the actual opinion of the Bunny collective in regards to you.

I'll just give you a fair warning, if I ever get to the stage in my plan that I am talking about a capital ship with balistas mounted bow and aft, I am essentially settled into exploration and colonisation.

If I make any mention of oil based or flame based projectiles or mounting trebuchets onto our ships, that means I am worried about your aggression or I am planning for war with you.

I know it's not really a warning but hey take it as you will.

Now if you'll excuse me I am going to move computers to a laptop so I can go downstairs and watch netflix and shitpost here and elsewhere.

I habe plan.

These are lil aardvark kings in each tribe. Now one wants silver and the other wants either power or war.
I say we become a culture that makes each city put forth a candidate to be king and they fight in an arena with wooden weapons and use our swimming sports. The winner of the competition will be king of all the cities.

We do not seek to send men to die or to bribe you into our alliance of cities. We want our people to unite the face of foreign threats and uniting will introduce what each town has and we can cooperate all the better.
We ran into filthy creatures of the day and they were highly advanced. If they come back we need a strong nation to fight them back.

(Such culture will put forth that the kings will be governors if not head king. Each king has the chance to be the ardlord.)

Chickens start a tradition of dueling with their troops. Initially, it causes a few deaths, but the honor and gory to the father rooster is too strong for anyone to reason those deaths as unnecessary. Also, a strategy game called 'insect evo' is introduced by a Unity Market chicken. The objective is to conquer another team, where each team is an insect allegory to another tribe. The game's mechanics is similar to this game, but more militarily focused. So far the factions are limited to the tribes known to the chickens. Its a popular game now!

Spiders - chickens
Dragonflies - frogs
Bees - ducks

BONUS TRIPLE CULTURE: Bunny theatre on frogs and chickens, and banjoes on bunnies
1. frog
2. chicken

>>
>>1520208
Are high rolls good or bad?
>>
>>1520208
Frogs and chickens love the theatre of the bunnies! They adopt the war drama format in tales of the Coop Guard and the great frog heroes! Meanwhile, bunnies are unaffected by the uncouth banjo croaking, preferring their whistling grass flutes.

Assuming no bunny controllers oppose my turn:

These are to be staffed by the Surface guard in groups of 3 working to maintain a watch constantly.

Research: The bunnies have had metallic armour for many years yet it is still of the style and make that is almost as old as their civilisation's military, a very makeshift effort from the war against the bees and far from ideal.

In order to modernise their military and enhance it's capabilities, they endeavour decide to develop new and better steel armouring based off all they learned in that war and since. Lighter, stronger and shinier than copper or bronze armour, it will symbolise the new age of bunny glory and of external threats greater than the bees of old...and the will of the bunnies to defeat them.

Foreign affairs action:
The Alpha hen sends out letters to all the heads of our colonies, telling them to begin collecting those who are fighting age, non-craftsmen workers and sending them to the capital to enlist in the army. Sprouton has special orders to collect the heretics and round them up for secret executions under the grounds of "Traitorous actions against the alpha hen and all of chicken kind, spycraft, espionage." Whether these accusations are correct remains a mystery but most would believe it, after all, it came from the alpha hen herself.
All chickens collected are to report to the newly established guilds for weapons and armor requisition, before marching east to meet with the frog armies, before marching west to finally exterminate the ducks.

Research: chicken and frog biology and society
Converts to the duck faith come to the duck town for refuge in the churches to escape persecution. The ducks ask about chicken and frog societies while studying them
Action: build the stone walls and buildings surrounding the even higher to make the duck town out of artillery range, and only accessible with flight
>>
>>1521113
Good look with the 20 turn action and impossible biology
>>
>>1520753
Actually only 100 ducks did to prepare north tribe incase of attacks from the increasingly aggressive chicken's and frogs
Most of duck society is still at gnat lake
>>
>>1521125
We built the walls and buildings in 1 turn, why is it unfeasible to just build them higher in a turn or 2? Ducks have flight so there's no scaffolding or anything like that required
>>
>>1521134
It took 2 turns to build a tower, 5 for a boat (with tools and equipment to do it) ducks have no excuse for building so quickly.
>>
>>1521125
Biology isn't even hard, it's literally just watching how they act, what they eat, asking them questions. It's very much just observation and besides, they're probably a little injured from hostile tribe members, which gives medical ducks an excuse to get close and poke and prod. We only really need 1 convert from each to compromise you.
>>
>>1521113
the issue with your action is that the ducks will arrive to the converted chickens city and not find the chickens as they converted in secret. As for biology and society, how would you go about this without having a willing or unwilling chicken/frog sample?

*the chickens were killed in secret I mean.

"rounding up heretics in Sprouton"
It's the closest town to duckberg, with the most converts (plus chicken's don't know who all the converts even are, it's who they believe)
Historically people noticed when their religious fellows were getting rounded up for execution and either hid or packed up and fled in fear almost immediately
>>
>>1521169
Ducks do not live there to see this. Unless you had spies in town (which you dont. You never made a turn to do that) you have no reason to know what chickens plan on doing.
>>
>>1521169
>>1521148
I suppose you bring a good point, though I'm not sure if your converts would be discreet or not. Nevertheless, I think I will implement a roll to see if you save them or the chickens kill them. Sounds fair?
>>
>>1521165
For full biology ye, but ducks would only be interested in things like, oh you're good at swimming and jumping, oh you're feminine so not hugely strong physically, oh you eat this.
Really I'm more interested in the society ( mine locations, food stores etc), if biology is really that much of a stretch, knowledge of your society is all we really need. Which can come from a live suspect
>>
>>1520432
ALso, this might be too many actions. I see 'kill the converts' and 'round up an army'. THats like, two different things.
>>
>>1521174
I say its your call if they are descrete or not, but how descrete could they be when in 4 towns the ducks got altogether murdered?
>>
>>1521174
That'd be fair, but for research purposes we'd only need 1 to escape, so instead of "they all die vs they all are saved" it should be a sliding scale with what we need being a pretty low roll
>>
>>1521173
>>1521179
This is another good point too, you haven't made any actions that would imply either covert espionage or observations diplomatically. If you want to do that instead, that would be an action and not research
>>
>>1521191
This guy raises an excellent point, there are 20 new chicken and frog converts who should have been further converting for the past few turns and they KNOW that they have a chance to be killed asap. Really they're probably already ready to flee, If not already visited duckberg
>>
>>1521191

>>
>>1521201
Oooo good point, but the chickens should have been converting more for the past few turns
How about we get chicken knowledge and have to roll on whether a frog got converted and fled. There's no way he'd be killed since the heretic execution is chicken exclusive
>>

>>
>>1521231
Point is, chicken missionaries will have already visited duckberg, so we should get societal knowledge of them or atleast a very low roll on 1 making in to duckberg
The frog roll shouldnt be much higher since its literally a roll on whether the converts converted a frog over the past few turns as they're not being killed.

Best part is, with holy warriors, we'll get new converts in any future engagement, so we'll get the knowledge sooner or later
>>
>>1521245

>>
>>1521257

>>
>>1521266

Chickens burgeon into the field of alchemy by applying their cooking science into mixing ingredients in a heated solution. They notice dissolving some ingredients break down food stuffs into easier to digest foodstuffs, helping the weak and sickly, boosting population growth!

They also intend to kill converts in Sprouton. Will roll for that in ducks turn.
>>
Just feeling cheated since we've been setting up for multiple turns what this religion does with research, all ducks agreed and it's apparently not a thing because the missionaries (of the specifically upgraded converting militant religion) weren't specified that they'd be militant and convert people

>increase the strength of duck doctrine instilling a way of life, condemning heretics from other religions and encouraging it's members to save others, making defection harder and conversion easier

It is true, I was unclear though whether the converts themselves would continue converting. This I will factor in to the adjustment. However, it costs actions to send missionaries from duck capital to convert.

In summary:
Duck missionaries -> costs turn
COnverted townspeople -> passively convert.

If you wanna convert this turn, you can do that as an action this turn.
>>
>>1521351
I'm not sure what you mean with the action, but ok yes let's do that instead of higher walls , but the research is still getting Intel on the other clans from our converts

Action 1: evacuate converts from unity market!
After the attack on the converts in Sprouton the ducks know they're way of life is under attack, they begin to prepare for further attacks by firstly getting all citizens to safety, this now includes the unity market converts who are going to be targeted

Action 2: the 100 ducks arriving in North Island create a very large seaweed farm. Seaweed grows throughout the winter months and will provide ample food during the harsh times

Research: Chicken catapults
After saving their lives in Sprouton, the converts are very grateful and have disregarded any allegiance to the chickens. The ducks ask for information on chickens to help prepare incase they decide to threaten duck society next. They take interest in the concept of catapults and attempt to recreate them. With the knowledge and experience of the converts, research should be significantly easier

Considering the previous Sprouton incident happened yesterday, news should have spread to unity market, making the converted frogs wary. They should roll on escaping like the chickens did last turn

They wouldn't, but they would send them to the citizens of unity, which includes the converts, their friends and families, aswell as people they'd talk to and pass on the street, caravans for trade and supplies passing in and out of the town and even the guards. This is huge news that everyone will be talking about. Regardless of if it's through the express or not the frog converts will find out, especially since those who know them will probably mention it to them first since its immediately relevant. The converts will realise they're in danger and try to escape to safety aka duckberg. There will be an escape roll just like with the chickens. People become very difficult to stop when their lives are potentially on the line
>>
>>1521557
If you are going to bother improving the port at kelp cove. You would want to acquire certain technologies from the Frogs specifically their knowledge of cranes and from the Ducks their cotton plants and knowledge of rope.

Frogs would need to change their action to stopping the express, which would allow the ducks to take them for free without a roll
There is constantly movement of goods and citizens between the towns, and the scale of the map makes the distances that of a mile or less, so they'd be able to travel there in less than an hour by foot

It is dishonorable to profit off the work of others, lest you yourself hold at least equal level of skill to the person whose work you profit off from.
Usury is sinful as well.
It is fine for artisans and craftsmen to hire merchants to peddle their wares for them, but it is sinful to hire a craftsman or an artisan for the purpose of selling their work for someone else.

This turn is beyond retarded. Firstly, how would you know that we tried to kill the converts. No ducks interact with chickens, and unity market is at least a days walk to and from. Secondly, the guards orders were to kill them asap and secretly so this exact situation wouldn't happen. Third, why would yokel farmers know how to build catapults.

Exactly as I said.

Also, DUCKS WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED INTO OUR CITY.
WE ARE AT WAR.
WE KILL YOU ON SIGHT.
STOP ASSUMING THAT OUR GUARDS LET IN ENEMIES TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT.

I agree with this also. Why did we allow them in when we declared war 1 turn prior?

So baiscally
Ants are sacred as they are the life blood of our people
An aardvark is measured by their skill as a worker or warrior
Never take credit for anothers work or deeds based off of personal gain

Not as strict as that
Artisans and skilled labour are the wellspring of prosperity for the people, from which wealth trickles down.
It's more of a matter of the belief that such practices are harmful to the community and a society as a whole if they're let flourish.

If a merchant sells an Aadvark product at an exorbitant price on foreign lands, but brings the wealth back to the nation, he is considered to have acted in benefit to his people and thus has not committed a sin.

Essentially, it's a culture against profiteering.
If you want to become rich, you need to be either skilled or chivalrous.
