Dungeon Civ takes place inside a stereotypical RPG Dungeon.

You are a race of Slimes living on the 55th floor of the Dungeon. Floor 55 is a Ruined City which grants defensive bonuses. The most recent Dungeon God has granted all the creatures on your Floor sentience and the ability to grow beyond their initial parameters. You were a mid level boss named Kulnarth (the all consuming) a Royal Slime.

In the Last thread Ash and Tethys met a scary witch and burned down the Armory. Woolsworth is working on a secret weapon, but he will need time to complete it. A magical shield prevents further invasion of the Castle proper. Kulnarth has led his Slimes against the last zone outside the Castle proper. The Possessed Humans guarding the zone have been crushed, but their leader conducts a fell ritual. Kulnarth has been challenged to a duel by a drow monk.

>Stats
Breeding determines how quickly your race spawns and respawns, and the Floor unit cap for your race.

Melee determines how well you fight with Melee weapons, and the maximum level of Melee weapons your race can equip. Also determines your base defense against Melee attacks.

Ranged works like Melee, but for Ranged weapons. Ranged weapons do less damage than Melee weapons on average. Also determines defense against Ranged attacks.

Magic determines what type of Magic you can equip. Equipping a type of magic will often change your type conferring bonuses and weaknesses. Also determines the strength of your magic and defense against magic.
(Some magic will require a Melee or Ranged roll)

Technology is useful for building and detecting traps, and determines the best equipment your race naturally produces. Also effects accessory limits.

Diplomacy affects party size, trade, and your diplomatic interaction with other races. Also determines whether or not you can accept a certain race into your Hero's Party.

Many of these can be improved or modified.

>Heroes

A hero is a unit well above the average for its race. Some Dungeon Races generate Heroes naturally, others have to work towards them. Heroes are allowed to equip special equipment and act independently of their racial holdings.

Sometimes a group of Heroes will descend into the Dungeon from the Outside. These are almost always powerful beings hoping to challenge the Dungeon God. It is not unheard of for such Heroes to annihilate entire Floors.

>Floor

The Floor is your world, but that doesn't mean you know all its secrets. Becoming the dominant Race on a floor can allow you to increase its Level.
Floor 55 has recently become a level 2 Floor.

>Stronghold

The Stronghold is the center of your Race's power. Heroes will rest here when not on assignment or questing. And the items of fallen Adventurers and Heroes will be stored here. If your Stronghold is destroyed all of your basic racial units on that floor will die immediately leaving only your Hero units. Your Stronghold is the Ruined Baths zone next to the Floor starting area.

>Dice

All rolls are 1d20 best of three. Your roll will be modified by magic, equipment, accessories, racial bonuses, and other modifiers as deemed necessary

Reposting from prev. Thread

The Possessed mortals rush forward at their leaders command utterly heedless of their own safety. Despite the desperate nature with which they fight their bodies are only human. They tear at the Slimes with tooth and nail. When their bones are broken they stab their enemies with the jagged edges. The Possessed ignore their hosts pain even as involuntary cries are torn from their throats.

It isn't enough. With Kulnarth backing them the Slime army relentlessly forces the suicidally driven Possessed back. Wave after wave of enemies are crushed, smothered, and torn apart by the Slimes. In the end the Fountain plaza is littered with the torn and dismembered bodies, and the Slimes move forward through a small lake of Human Blood.

>Items Gained

Crude Club X 47, Corrupted Human Soul X 30

The Possessed leader has turned his back and fled long before the battle concluded. His fleeing footsteps echo through the streets as he retreats towards the back of the zone.

In hot pursuit the Slime army arrives at a gutted palatial mansion. The entirety of the front facade has been torn down into the street in a jumble of wooden beams and brickwork. The inner floor seems almost entirely taken up with an enourmous summoning seal before which the Possessed Leader is fervently praying.

Kulnarth advances and slams his terribly strong appendage into the face of the leader, only for his attack to be deflected by some unseen force!

A thin Elven girl with dark skin hops lightly down from the third floor.

"Greeting Kulnarth the Devourer I am Song of Swift Victory, adept user of the Far Hands style of martial arts. I request that this matter be settled by a duel between us. I doubt either of us would approve of this thing finishing his summons. If I win you will retreat and I will slay this demon twisted shell. I will of course blame you entirely. If you win You may do as you like and I will not oppose you in this zone. What do you say?"

>fine, we duel
>I will kill you all
>fine let's duel (demon Slime, kill that thing)

Back at the Ruined Baths Woolsworth is pacing back and forth with his head clutched in his hands. His agitated muttering rises and falls in volume as he reviews less and more upsetting reports.

"No no no! This simply will not do! Where am I going to find a 1.21 gigawatt rated flux capacitor?! How am I supposed to work under these conditions!"

It seems he still has some work to do.

For her part Ash seems to have managed linking the Forge with ease. As the Slimes watch she follows behind Woolsworth trying to comfort him. Unfortunately her platitudes are all taken literally by the Machine Man.

"What? Don't be absurd miss, this has nothing to do with deep sea fishing at all!"

"Uwah! No I meant there must be some other solution."

"Well of course there is, just not fishing!"

The dark skinned monk stands poised on the balls of her feet waiting for Kulnarth to answer. Her frame almost vibrates with barely suppressed excitement at the thought of battle. Kulnarth flexes his new, massive form. Killing instinct is not native to Slimes given their weak status in the Dungeon as a low level monster suitable only to die in droves. Nevertheless Kulnarth smiles as well at the thought of this fight. Slimes are weak, Slimes can't fight, Slimes are one hit disposable nothings. Time to lay those notions to rest. No, time to obliterate those ideas so that no one ever thinks them again! Kulnarth's jagged mouth twists into a grin as he replies.

Agreed.

The Dark Elf grins like a maniac as she bows.

"May you fight well before you die!"

Spinning in place on the ball of her left foot the Drow releases her right foot in a series of hip high kicks. But she is much too far away to connect with anything at that distance?! Kulnarth's confusion ends abruptly as the savage force of the kicks impacts his tough outer membrane. Three impact points send ripples through his substance. She apparently doesn't have to be anywhere near her opponent to affect them. A troublesome ability.

Kulnarth lunges towards the Elf to close the distance, only for her to prance backwards a few steps before back flipping swiftly behind a wall. As if that would protect her. A rapid fire series of punches pass harmlessly through the wall and into Kulnarth as he advances. Not stopping in the slightest Kulnarth punches a pseudopod directly through the wall and rips it across. Bricks and other assorted rubble go flying through the air along with the Drow. She lands in an ungracious heap atop a pile of shattered bricks.

Both opponents pause as they stare at one another. They have each other's measure now, and though no serious damage has been done the fight will likely turn deadly soon.

Bone Slime, seeing that things are well in hand Bone Slime directs the army to prepare for a counter attack. Most of the troops are moved back to the Castle Wall where they begin fortifying it further against assault.

At the same time the Grand Fountain is expanded and additional Cores are brought up from the Ruined Baths. Reinforcements this close to the front may make all the difference in the coming war.

The Holy Slimes sneak away from Demon Slimes constant bullying and begin looking for someone to train them in magic.

>who do they find?

Elsewhere Visca is redirected once again in her quest to find Kulnarth. She's already been to the Baths, the Market, the Isolated Lab, the Grand Fountain, and the Wall. With a look of annoyance she heads out into the battlefield.

Several Slime scouts take the opportunity to accompany her and observ the situation.

Unfortunately nothing can get past the shadowed mystical barrier in front of the Castle.

As The Possessed Human continues his elder itch and unsettling chant Kulnarth and Swift Victory circle each other warily. There is plenty of rubble and broken walls for the Drow to hide behind, but she's already seen that her normal attacks can't pierce the Devourer's thick hide. As her foot falls lightly on a patch of cracked plaster Kulnarth makes his move. From beneath the former wall fresco sharp tendrils of Kulnarth's flesh pierce upwards. Having extended himself through the rubble beneath her feet Kulnarth launches his attack fully expecting to skewer the thin Elf. When the thick plaster dust settles the Drow warrior is revealed to have suffered a minor stab wound and little more than superficial cuts. Twisting his estranged flesh into an impromptu cage Kulnarth makes to capture and envelope her. Before he can finish doing so however she shifts her stance by bringing her arms to her sides and yelling.

"Ki Eruption!"

A burning aura of painful red glare surrounds her causing the groping tentacles to boil at its touch. The intense flame like aura quickly evaporates the standing Slime stuff.

"Hmph, your a clever fighter. But you shouldn't underestimate a martial artist. This is my Burning Soul Stance, you've already felt a fraction of its power. Once I close in on you with this the fight is through."

Oh? She should think again.

A puzzled expression crosses her face as a shadow blots out the Dungeon Sun above her. A massive section of brick wall hangs above her lifted high by Kulnarth's extended mass. The monk tries to switch to a different stance as Kulnarth releases the suspended wall, but she is a bit too late and it comes crashing down on top of her.

Kulnarth rejoins his mass and locks two of his pseudopod fists together high in the air before slamming them Repeatedly back down into the pile of broken brick and plaster covering the martial artist. Satisfied with her defeat Kulnarth slides away. Behind him am ominous rumbling sounds just before her red gloved fist punches its way violently towards the Dungeon ceiling.

Rubble flies in every direction as the Drow picks herself up. She seems beaten and battered, but not so badly as expected.

"Hah, haa- Iron Skin Stance you monster. Pr-prepare yourself!"

Kulnarth turns from the still chanting priest and readies himself to fight once more.

>Kulnarth -4 Hp 41/45 remaining

Locking her elbows at her sides Swift Victory adopts the Far Hand Stance and begins throwing a series of rapid fire punches. Despite the distance between them the Far Hand Stance transfers the impact directly to Kulnarth who staggers a bit under the onslaught. Each punch may be little more than an annoyance to him, but so many at once can at least drive him back.

Throwing his pseudopod arms in front of him to take the brunt of the damage Kulnarth readies his counter attack for when she runs out of steam. Then as suddenly as it started the barrage ends. Kulnarth lunges forward smashing everything in his way with deadly force. Only to realize to late the Drow has leapt high into the air in anticipation.

Kicking downward with all her strength Swift transfers the force of the blow directly into Kulnarth's upturned face. Twice more she kicks downward as she falls forcing his head backwards as she does. As Kulnarth's maw stretches open from the awkward position Swift thrusts her hand downward in a grasping clawlike shape.

A dreadful sense of being pinned to the spot like a mounted butterfly overcomes Kulnarth as the Drow Monk uses Far Hand to grab onto his exposed Core. Landing lightly behind the paralyzed tyrant she squeezes her grip on the critical organ tightly.

"I've got you now monster. Have a taste of one of my Ultimate Techniques! 10,000 Fist Rebuke!"

Drawing her fist back she punches once towards Kulnarth, the result however feels like having been struck by dozens or hundreds of fists. Kulnarth wobbles from the impact of having been punched everywhere at once.

"Oh? Tough one eh? Don't worry the next blow will end this one and for all.

Back at the Wall the Holy Slimes keep looking for someone to train them. Tethys just glances up from her odd Mahn-Gah long enough to shake her head before telling them she's at a "good part". Woolsworth walks right past them cackling softly to himself while muttering something about finally showing those fools. Kulnarth is away, and Ash just left for the Armory.

That only leaves, Her. As if summoned by the very thought of her existence Demon Slime appears at the end of the hallway holding the limp wrist of a passed out Demn Lieutenant. Dropping her exhausted toy Demon Slime advances menacingly on the hapless Slimes. Desperate to defend themselves they use Aid over and over again, to no effect. Chased this way and that through the wall they wind up cowering in an unused storage area.

"My oh my! What do we have here?"

Turning as one the Slimes see Alchemist who has paused in her rummaging to regard them.

"Here I was looking for a storage space when you came bursting in. What's got you so flustered?"

The Slimes begin speaking in the bleeps and blurbles that all regular Slimes say when speaking. Alchemist listens to the unintelligible stream of bloops, not the sound, but the actual word bloop in Dungeonese.

"Oh my, how horrible. Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt to help you out. Just this once."

Alchemist kneels down and speaks to the Holy Slimes for half an hour or so.

In the Ruined Baths a long forgotten Bone Slime slinks around the Throne Room kicking a single rusty dagger across the floor.

"I could sit on a throne. I could! I'm more than tall enough! N-not like I'm afraid or nothin'. S'just that I don't want to! Yeah that's it don't want the hassle of ruling and all that. Yeah. Leave that business to Kulnarth, the sucker. I can be like- like the power BEHIND the throne. Yeah. Not like I'm afraid or nothin. Not like that at all. Yeah. He can have all that ruling and biting and being all cool and monster like. Not my bag, nosiree. I'm just gonna sit right here and-"

A scuttling Machine courier arrives and surveys the ranting Bone Slime

"Greetings"

The Bone Slime jumps and hides behind the Throne.

"Who are you, what do you want?"

The Machine clicks internally before speaking again.

"I am RB2 I am assigned to assist you while Unit Designation Woolsworth is busy. How may I assist you."

The Bone Slime looks about nervously before replying

"Go and uh, build something useful! But definitely go away."

This time a small pinging noise comes from within the bot as it narrows its single red iris at the Bone Slime.

"Acknowledged"

Far Hand, Burning Soul, Iron Skin. Who does this Dark Elf think she is? Your a Dungeon Boss, attack patterns are your stock and trade. Yet she thinks she can beat you with something this simple? It's insulting.

Swift Victory darts forward to plunge her arms into Kulnarth and incinerate his Core. Her arm passes almost without resistance through his tough outer membrane. Caught up in the rush of certain Victory she does not think to question the fact. Clawed fingers grasp for the shining Core. Two inches left, now only one. Swift takes a final step forward toward victory, but her legs refuse to serve her. Startled she looks down to see that her legs have been engulfed by Kulnarth from the ground up.

"Stubborn monster you only delay the inevitable Burning-"

Kulnarth's jaws swing wide around his own head, the upper jaw passing over his head while the lower jaw swings around the side. When it reforms Kulnarth is facing towards the Elf, and his snapping jaws have bitten her arm off at the elbow. At the same time a sharp tendril sweeps through the Drows legs slicing them clean through.

Song of Swift Victory topples to the ground amidst her own strangled cries and a wild spray of her blood.

"Iron. Skin. Stance."

Gritting her teeth in determination she drags herself away from you with the remaining arm. Flopping over on her side she regards you with poorly concealed agony. The powerful arterial gushes of blood have slowed thanks no doubt to her Ki abilities.

"Well fought monster. As promised I will not interfere with your business here any longer. Kill me if you wish, but know that I will not be so easily beaten next time we face each other."

Ash approaches the site of the former Armory intent on capturing it for Kulnarth and his Slimes. But knowledge of the powerful foe lurking nearby makes her cautious. It isn't easy for a Fire Mage to be sneaky, and she isn't a Slime with their natural talent for it, but she does as well as she can.

A good thing as well because when she arrives the former Armory is occupied. Amidst the charred ruins and toppled walls Selendra, Frederick, and a mysterious Hooded Figure are speaking! A large crystal orb floats unattended between them. Their words are too faint to make out from this far away. Frederick seems unhappy, but Selendra sits on her floating broom looking bored of all things.

Back at the Ruined Baths RB2 reports back to the highest local authority. Who seems singularly reluctant to receive said report.

"I have completed construction of a Data Archival And Research Area. Do you have any further tasks for me?"

The Bone Slime climbs down off of the top of the high back of the Throne to address the Machine.

"Yeah no, go away."

RB2 takes several seconds to process this request before replying.

"As you wish Sir."

This distinctly out of place room is filled with brushed steel shelves bolted directly into the marble floors. Ornate statuary flank modern LCD display screens. Magnifying Glasses hover over each of the four shelves in each of the Eight sections. Sections include: Magic, History, Technology, Social Studies, Engineering, Geography, Metaphysics, and Economics. An ornately carved wooden shelf at the end of the room seems to be filled with the small picture books Tethys delights in so much. It is labeled Manga. Staring down at a wounded Adventurer is a familiar sight. In the past this wouldn't have been a decision. There were no decisions then. That's the existence Frederick remembers and hates. Probably the reason this Drow decided to work for him as well. Kulnarth may be a monster, but he doesn't have to be mindless.

Stretching a portion of himself out to engulf the woman is easy, as is pressing closed her wounds. Song of Swift Victory grimaces in pain as her blood stains the inside of Kulnarth's body.

"What are you doing? It doesn't matter how you torture me, I won't talk."

Ignoring her for now Kulnarth goes over to the Possessed leader. His skull has split vertically across his brow and a jagged horn protrudes there. The other side has a swelling bump that threatens to birth a similar horn on the other side. Who knows how many Souls were stashed away in this sea for this purpose? Whatever the Possessed is turning into Kulnarth is not eager to find out. With a lightning quick lash of his pseudopod the man falls lifeless to the ground with his head snapped backwards. Whatever foul magics he attempted die with him as the seal fades into a dull brown color.

---

Ash quickly Hides behind a particularly sturdy piece of rubble. The muted conversation continues in the background. From her raiding place Ash can't make out any of the words, but the overall situation is clear. Whatever Frederick wants the hooded stranger to do, it seems dead set in refusing. After several more moments of strained conversation the being simply turns and walks away. After three steps it activates a teleport crystal and is gone. For his part Frederick turns and nods to Selendra with a vague hand waving motion. Hopping off her broom with a rueful smile Selendra raises both her hands to the Orb and casts something.

Light envelops the entire zone as it is captured by Selendra.

When the brilliant light of creation passes Ash finds herself inside a dusty pantry with wooden shelves. Motes of dust dance in the slanted light of a high window. The walls are simple plaster, occasionally cracked. The floor is a warm wooden color reminiscent of wheat.

>ash is undetected and unharmed in an enemy zone
>>
>>1520940
Tethys should learn the scrolls
Kulnarth heal and do the quest
>>
>>1520993
Seconding
>>
>>1520948
Is the siege still going on or are we officially done with demon zones? if we got them all then >>1520993
>>
>>1521059
also can ash summon a sprite to go explore outside the cupboard
>>
>>1520940
We need to create some more powerful units. What would happen if we combined a slime core with a suit of armor or stone or a sword. WE NEED EXPERIMENTATION
>>
>>1520940
>Build Improvement
We need another room in the baths to level it to level 3. So... a new spawning room? Or a prison, though I think that it would be replaced quickly.
>Invade area
Have Tethys take over the noble District
>Combine things
Slime core with Human Soul, Slime core with Sword, and Slime core with slime core.
>Kulnarth
Undines Trials
>>
>>1521059
The noble district is devoid of life and you can destroy it whenever you want. The only reason you didn't do so already is because you had a captive.

The Armory was destroyed, but has been reformed as a different zone under Selendra command. The Castle is protected by a barrier that prevents invasion.

>>1521064
That is completely possible, and an excellent use of non combat abilities.

>>1521091
Try it. Try it.

Well guys I have to pack it in for now, we resume tomorrow.

Feel free to ask questions either here or on discord
>>
>>1521126
What would the result of combining a slime core with a weapon be?
>>
>>1521126
Also is the magic siphon/ forge thing capable of taking down the barrier.
>>
We should fuse slime cores with fire-resistant armor.

Can we have little drones made and fuse slimes to them too?
GOLEM SLIMES ARE GO!
>>
>>1521133
depends, either you make a slime equipped with the weapon, a weapon made of slime, or a weapon with a core.

there are other things to do, but they are more complicated than just core + weapon.

>>1521137
it will either destroy it or weaken it enough to allow passage depending on your rolls. also depending on tor rokks os how much defense bonus the defenders get.

>>1521171
these are both possible, but the more complicated/powerful/involved the fusion process is the higher level the slime unit, and the harder to control.

you could for instance dump three demon hearts, three cores, and 36 human souls together. but what came out would be utterly uncontrollable. and would make short work of you.
>>
>>1521171
also worth noting, the Machines are allied with you, but you dont directly control them.
>>
>>1521220
>a weapon made of slime
Wait. So if we make a slime-sword, can we also make a giant slime-armor and slime-shield? Super unit slime knight fusion?
>>1521126
Let's get ash to summon that sprite and send it to explore
>>
>>1521241
yes, Slimes can Fuse to make bigger things.

but they Cant exceed a certain limit. and it works better for slimes of the same type.

hell if you put in the time you could make Slime Voltron or what have you.
>>
>>1521250
alright then i'm sold on slime voltron made out of basic slimes! let's start by fusing a slime core with a sword, shall we?
>>
>>1521265
Slime Voltron is AT LEAST a level 12.

but yeah its a goal to move towards if yyou want
>>
>>1521274
Lets not have a level twelve Slime around until we can both control it, and be able to defeat it.
>>
>>1521279
I think we wouldn't even be able to make it until we're 12, so its a moot point. But i think if we made weapon-slimes they could be useful in combat situations. A ballista slime for example would have been great in the siege
>>
>>1521289
I was thinking following Demon slimes example and using Slimes as ammo and not weapons, but that's a neat idea. Lets face it, a catapult shot that got up and started attacking people would be hilarious and demoralizing.
>>
Orbiting Slime Lazer Drone!
Slimecore Bastard Sword!
BloodSlimes
ElectroSlime Nets!
HolySlime multicasting Megazords!
>>
>>1521355
>electroslime nets
I could get behind that for sure, would be totally useful for traps/capturing targets
>>
>>1521292
ah, how to put it?

Demon Slime wasnt innovating so much as she just doesnt care if a Holy Slime dies.
>>1521289
maybe, but your race has terrible ranged capacity. you can improve it, but you'll never be elves.
>>1521355
many of those can be done by learning specific skills or classes
>>
>>1521362
>>1521355
fusing slime cores with weapons would require modifications to your forge, mage forge, a spawning pool, or all of the above.

but its possible
>>
>>1521369
>>1521375
So we can have sentient slimeswords that spam Plesioth-beams?

I'm game, after we win the invasion.
>>
>>1521380
oh anon. what makes you think this peaceful life will continue forever?

this isnt a GoT quest, but that doesn't mean Winter wont come all the same.
>>
>>1521408
Then we can be ready for it with a slime railgun.
>>
>>1521439
>slime railgun
what madness have i lead my fellow anons into?!
But really though if we launched an ooze from a slime catapult we could have an AoE poison siege weapon
>>
>>1521444
Do you think we could put Oozes and ElectroSlimes in a container and use those as seige weapon ammo?

ElectroSlime net + status effect hell = lategame horror
>>
>>1521470
Through kek's will and with enough stupidity and highrolls, all things are possible fellow anon
>>
Hey guys, needing to take a day off. Thank you for understanding.
>>
rip. I kinda liked this quest too.
